IGCSE Tutor Fees in Dubai: The Per-Subject Arithmetic Parents Miss

IGCSE tutoring is bought by the subject, and a child sits eight or nine. Dubai rate bands, the Core and Extended decision, syllabus codes, and how to build a term budget that holds.

There is a mistake almost every Dubai family makes when they first price IGCSE support, and it is not about the hourly rate. IGCSE tutor fees in Dubai are quoted per hour, and the hour is not the thing that decides the bill. It is that IGCSE is not one course. It is eight or nine separate single-subject qualifications, each with its own syllabus, its own papers and its own tutor market, and a family who negotiates a good hourly rate and then needs four subjects has not saved what they think they have saved.

That is the difference between pricing IGCSE support and pricing Diploma support. A Diploma student has one qualification with six subjects inside it, and the spend tends to concentrate around coursework windows. An IGCSE student in Year 10 or Year 11 has a portfolio, and the spend multiplies by however many subjects are genuinely wobbling. Get the subject count right and the arithmetic is manageable. Get it wrong and a family that budgeted for one tutor is paying for three by February.

This article gives the Dubai market rate bands with their sources, then works through the five things that decide how much of that market you actually need to buy: the Core or Extended tier, the syllabus code, the honest number of hours a subject takes, whether a group is the right answer, and where in the two-year cycle you are standing. It closes with how we deliver to UAE families, which is a fact worth having before you read a single rate.

What IGCSE Tutor Fees In Dubai Look Like, Format By Format

Published Dubai rates, read from providers' own pages and from Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table through October 2026, sort into these bands. They are market figures, not our price list, and each is attributed so you can check it.

What Dubai providers publish for IGCSE support, AED per hour

Notice that these are the same market bands any Dubai tutoring page should be quoting, whatever the curriculum. What differs for IGCSE is not the rate card but the multiplier. The useful question is therefore not "what does an IGCSE tutor cost" but "how many subject-hours a week am I actually buying, and could any of them be shared?"

What the subject count does to a monthly bill at an unchanged hourly rate

That line is the whole article in one picture: the rate never moved, and the bill tripled. Every negotiation that matters here is about the subject count, not the hour.

Our structured rate pages hold the same bands with local detail: the IGCSE tutor cost page for Dubai breaks them down by tier, and the IGCSE home tutor fees page for Dubai covers the in-home band specifically. If your child is on the Diploma rather than the British track, the spend has a completely different shape, and we have written that up separately in IB home tutor fees in Dubai. Families in the capital should read the IGCSE home tutor fees page for Abu Dhabi instead, because the supply, not the rate card, is what differs between the two emirates.

Why The Core Or Extended Decision Changes The Bill More Than The Rate Does

Several Cambridge IGCSE subjects are tiered. Mathematics 0580 is the one that matters most to most families, and the tiering decision is usually made by the school in Year 10, sometimes quietly, and it has consequences a parent can only see later.

Core and Extended are different papers covering different amounts of content, and the grades available differ. A Core candidate's grade ceiling sits below the top of the scale; an Extended candidate can reach it. For a child aiming at A-Levels in a quantitative subject, or at the Diploma's Analysis and Approaches route, the tier decision taken at 14 becomes a constraint at 16.

Core against Extended, on the six things that decide the bill

Read the last row against the first: the tier decision taken at 14 moves total spend further than any rate you negotiate at 16.

The expensive scenario is a mid-course tier move. A family told in Year 11 that their child should move from Core to Extended is being asked to close a content gap and learn an unfamiliar paper structure inside a shortened run-up, and that is the most concentrated block of tutoring most IGCSE families ever buy. If the possibility is live, raising it in Year 10 rather than Year 11 is worth more than any rate negotiation.

The cheap scenario is the mirror image and gets discussed far less. A child sitting on the Extended tier who is genuinely struggling, where the school and family agree Core is the right fit, needs less tutoring, not more. A tutor who only ever recommends extra hours is not giving you the whole picture.

The Syllabus Code That Makes A Quote Real

Ask a Dubai tutor to quote for "IGCSE Maths" and the number you get is close to meaningless, because at least four different courses answer to that description in this city. Cambridge alone runs Mathematics 0580, Additional Mathematics 0606 and International Mathematics 0607, and Pearson Edexcel runs its own International GCSE Mathematics on code 4MA1. They are different syllabuses with different papers and different mark schemes.

Four codes, four syllabuses, four sets of papers and mark schemes. A quote given before anyone says which of those four it is, is a quote for an unnamed course.

This is the single most useful thing a parent can do before asking for a price: find the code. It is on the school's curriculum booklet, on the exam entry confirmation, and your child's subject teacher will know it immediately.

Syllabus codes as published by Cambridge International. Confirm your child's code with their school before booking, because schools change syllabus choices between cohorts.

The sciences deserve a specific warning, because the mistake here is expensive. A child doing Coordinated Sciences 0654 is doing three sciences in a double award with less depth per science than a child doing 0625, 0620 and 0610 separately. A tutor who prepares a 0654 candidate using separate-science past papers is teaching content the child will never be examined on, at full hourly rate. That is not a hypothetical error; it is the most common mis-sold hour in this market.

The failure in the bottom row is paid for at the full hourly rate, in both directions. Confirm the code with the school, then say it out loud in the first message to any tutor. If the school runs the single-award route instead, the page you want is Cambridge IGCSE Combined Science 0653 tutoring in Dubai, which is a third syllabus again.

The board matters as much as the code. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE papers are structured differently from Cambridge's, and a tutor fluent in one is not automatically fluent in the other. We keep separate pages for exactly this reason, including Edexcel IGCSE tutoring for Dubai alongside the Cambridge pages above. If your school is a Pearson centre, the two pages to open are Edexcel IGCSE Maths A 4MA1 tutoring in Dubai and Edexcel IGCSE Science Double Award 4SD0 tutoring in Dubai, which are the two codes most Dubai Pearson candidates sit.

How Many Hours One IGCSE Subject Actually Needs

Nobody in this market will give you an hour count, because it varies and because a low number is bad for business. Here is an honest framework instead, which is more useful than a fake average.

Start with the gap, not the subject. A child two grades below target with a specific, identifiable weakness, trigonometry, or balancing equations, or structured long-answer questions, needs a short concentrated block: six to ten weekly sessions is often enough to close a single named gap, and then the tutoring should stop. A child two grades below target across the whole syllabus needs a term or more of weekly work, because there is no single gap to close.

Then adjust for three things.

Tier. Extended covers more content than Core, so the same proportional gap takes more weeks to close on the Extended tier.

Time to the series. Entry deadlines sit months before papers, and so does the point at which content teaching stops being possible and the work becomes triage. A gap identified in September of Year 11 can be taught. The same gap identified eight weeks before papers is a technique-and-prioritisation problem instead, which is a different kind of session and needs a tutor comfortable saying what to abandon.

Whether the problem is knowledge or paper technique. A great many Dubai students lose marks they have the knowledge for, on command-word misreads, on not showing method, on running out of time in the second paper. That is a cheap problem to fix, often four to six sessions of structured past-paper work, and it is the most under-bought form of tutoring in this market because it sounds less serious than "extra teaching".

Three of the four marks are gone before you ever reach the answer.

Most of a maths answer's marks sit in the method, not the final line

That is why four to six sessions of structured past-paper work can move a grade without teaching any new content: the marks were already available. Our IGCSE past papers practice page for Dubai and the IGCSE mock exam preparation page are built around exactly this kind of work.

The point of that panel is the jump from the third line to the fourth. Most families price the third line and then live the fourth. Deciding deliberately which two or three subjects actually need paid help, and which ones need the school's own support and a better revision routine, is worth more than any discount.

Nine subjects sat, three wobbling at once: the common real case, not the worst case.

Two thirds of the ring is the part families should refuse to buy. Deciding which third is which, in September rather than in February, is the single cheapest decision in this article.

Group Classes Versus One-To-One, And When Sharing Actually Works

Small-group IGCSE classes are widely offered in Dubai and are genuinely cheaper per student. They work well in a narrow set of conditions and poorly outside it, and the conditions are specific enough to check.

A group works when the students share the board, the syllabus code, the tier and roughly the same gap. Three Year 11 students from the same school, all on Extended 0580, all struggling with the same two topics, taught together, is efficient and often better than one-to-one because the peer comparison is motivating.

A group fails when any of those four things differ. Put a 0580 Extended student and a 0607 student in the same room and the tutor teaches to one of them while the other waits. Put a student needing content teaching with one needing paper technique and the same thing happens. Because providers rarely disclose the composition of a group before you pay, the question to ask is blunt: which board, which code, which tier, and what is the group working on this term?

Because providers rarely publish who is in a group, treat the second and third rows as a script: which board, which code, which tier, and what is this group working on this term? Our IGCSE classes page for Dubai and the one-to-one IGCSE tutoring page for Dubai set out each format without pretending either is right for everyone.

One-to-one earns its premium in three situations specifically. Coursework-adjacent work, where the feedback has to be on this student's writing. Thin subjects, where there is no group to join. And confidence cases, where a child who has stopped volunteering answers in class will not start volunteering them in a group of four.

The Exam Series Your Dubai Child Sits, And What It Does To Availability

This is where a surprising number of pages written for UAE parents are simply wrong about the country they are addressing, and it is worth being exact.

Cambridge International runs IGCSE, O Level and International A Level exams in a June series and a November series. Cambridge also operates a February/March series, and that series is offered to India only. A Dubai candidate does not sit it. If you find a revision plan built around February and March exams, it was written for a different market, and following it will put your child's revision peak months out of step with their actual papers.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs in May/June and November each year. Pearson's published record gives useful calibration on intervals: the November 2026 final timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026; June 2026 results went to centres on 19 August 2026 and to students on 20 August 2026; and November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026. Those dates are in the past, which is why they still carry their years here, they are checkable. For a series still ahead, read the live official timetable rather than a restated one, because Pearson publishes provisional timetables that are revised before they become final.

One administrative detail catches families who build their own calendar from a downloaded PDF. Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones, states that "it is essential that you use the correct version of the timetable for your zone", and says it "cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam" where the wrong zone's timetable was used. Ask your school which zone it sits in before trusting any timetable you downloaded yourself.

Cambridge also runs a February and March series, offered to India only. A Dubai candidate does not sit it.

The IGCSE year a Dubai candidate actually sits

Two lit months, not three. If a revision plan you have been handed peaks in February, it was written for India and will put your child's hardest weeks out of step with their papers.

  1. The seriesPapers sit, in the June or November window, on your centre's zone timetable
  2. Six to eight weeks beforeTechnique only: timed papers, command words, mark allocation, what to abandon

  4. The mockYour best diagnostic of the year; read it by topic and paper, not by overall grade
  5. Entry deadlineTier and subject list locked; this sits months ahead of the papers
  6. Start of Year 11The cheapest point to decide which two or three subjects genuinely need paid support
The exam year, counted backwards from the papers

Availability follows that calendar as much as price does. The term before a series is when every family in the city reaches the same conclusion at once, and the tutors worth having fill up. A family deciding in September for a June series is choosing from a wide field; a family deciding in April is choosing from what is left. Our article on the IGCSE exam timetable for UAE candidates goes through the series detail, and the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 study plan for Dubai students works a full year backwards from papers for that one subject. The supporting pages for the final stretch are the IGCSE exam preparation page for Dubai, the IGCSE revision classes page and, if June did not go the way it should have, the IGCSE resit tutoring page for Dubai.

The Five Subjects That Count For Ministry Equivalency, And The Two That Do Not

There is a reason to care about the subject list beyond university offers, and it changes which subjects a family should spend tutoring money on.

For the British track, Gulf Today's report of the Ministry of Education's July 2026 clarification states that students must pass "five accredited subjects in GCSE or IGCSE certificates with a grade of no less than E or grade 3", and must additionally submit proof of "one accredited subject at the Advanced Level with a grade of no less than E", or "two accredited subjects at the Advanced Subsidiary Level with the same grade". The same clarification states that Arabic and Islamic education "are not included among the five required subjects".

E or 3

1
AS-Level subjects as the alternative to that one A-Level
2

0
The British-track equivalency minimum, as reported in July 2026

Read the last tile twice, because it is the one that changes a subject plan: Arabic and Islamic Education sit outside the count, so a family planning the minimum load has to find five others.

Five, not six. At least one page ranking for these queries tells UAE parents the requirement is six IGCSE subjects, and a family planning a minimum subject load around the wrong number can lose a year to it. Arabic and Islamic Education sit outside the count rather than inside it, which is a distinction worth confirming on the Ministry's own channel before you plan around it.

Two cautions on how to use this. Equivalency is a document process run by the Ministry; it is not something a tutoring service performs, accelerates or guarantees on your behalf, and anyone implying that tutoring is required for it is making a false-urgency claim about a regulatory procedure. And a minimum is a floor, not a target: universities set their own, usually higher, subject and grade requirements on top of equivalency, so building a subject list to the equivalency minimum is rarely the right plan. The document process itself, including what the Ministry asks for and in what order, is written out in MoE equivalency for IGCSE students and in the wider UAE equivalency certificate guide for IB and IGCSE families.

Arabic, Islamic Education And Social Studies: The Load Nobody Budgets For

New arrivals in Dubai consistently underestimate the total timetable, and this is why.

KHDA's mandatory-subjects guidance confirms that Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are required in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, with requirements that "must be implemented by the start of the 2025-26 academic year", and April 2026 for schools whose year starts in April. The federal position behind that is that private schools are not obliged to follow a specific curriculum beyond Arabic language, social studies and Islamic studies, while adhering to the Ministry's general regulations.

So a Year 10 student in Dubai carries their eight or nine IGCSEs and these subjects. That is the honest answer to why a Dubai IGCSE timetable feels fuller than the same course would feel elsewhere, and it is a genuine competitor for the hours a family is planning to spend on tutoring.

How KHDA splits the mandatory subjects between two student groups

The practical consequence is that "Arabic support" names two different courses, and buying the wrong one is a wasted term. The streams have separate pages for that reason: Cambridge IGCSE Arabic First Language 0508 tutoring in Dubai and Cambridge IGCSE Arabic as a Foreign Language 0544 tutoring in Dubai, and the fuller discussion sits in our IGCSE Arabic guide for expat students.

Three details that affect how support can be organised:

  • Classes are separated by group. KHDA states that for Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, "schools must organise separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs", and that "combined classes for both groups are strictly prohibited due to the different curriculum expectations and language of instruction". So Arabic support is not one product; the first-language and additional-language streams are different courses.
  • Language of instruction is specified. KHDA requires Standard Arabic as the main language of instruction for Islamic Education for Arabs and for Arabic as a first language, Arabic as the primary language for Social Studies for Arab students, and the school's licensed-curriculum language for non-Arabs in Islamic Education and in Moral, Social and Cultural studies.
  • The content is constrained. For the mandatory subjects, KHDA states that "the use of any different or additional content, without prior permission from the MoE, is strictly prohibited". A tutor who offers to teach these subjects from their own materials is describing something the school itself could not do.

KHDA also specifies that mandatory-subject instructional time "is calculated based on a 40-minute lesson unit", that schools may vary lesson length provided the total weekly time is met, and that "it is advised that the length for any mandatory subject lesson is at least 25 minutes". And on credentials: "Schools are required to ensure that all teachers of Islamic Education and Arabic have appropriate KHDA approval to teach these subjects." That approval applies to school teachers of those subjects; it is not a label a tutoring provider can wear, and we do not claim it.

Building A Term Budget That Survives Year 11

Here is the framework we would use if we were sitting at your kitchen table with the last report card, built on the qualified-online band of AED 150 to 300 an hour because that is where most genuine IGCSE subject teaching actually sits.

Indicative monthly figures derived from the AED 150-300 qualified-online band earlier in this article, at four sessions a month per weekly slot. Not a quotation. Bestimate's own monthly estimates for a weekly one-hour session run AED 240-600 budget, AED 600-1,200 mid-market and AED 1,000-2,000 or more for a specialist in an exam year.

Bar length is each range's midpoint as a share of AED 3,600. Tags are AED a month, derived from the AED 150-300 band.

Indicative monthly spend by scenario, qualified-online band

The ordering is the useful part. The cheapest scenario and the most expensive differ by a factor of three, and what separates them is almost entirely how early the decision was taken.

Two pieces of context make those numbers easier to place. Published Dubai package structures through October 2026 include around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions, which divides out to roughly AED 100 an hour and therefore sits at the budget-to-mid boundary rather than in the qualified band. And KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there would be no increase in private school fees in the emirate for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion within a AED 2.5 billion total. With the largest line flat, tutoring is the variable one, which is an argument for setting it deliberately in September rather than reactively in March.

The discipline that matters most is the stopping rule. Agree at the outset what closing the gap looks like, review it at six to eight weeks, and be willing to end the arrangement when the gap closes. A tutor whose recommendation is always more hours is not the one to ask whether the hours are still needed.

How We Deliver IGCSE Support To Dubai Families

Said plainly, because a fees article is the wrong place for ambiguity.

For families in Dubai and everywhere else in the UAE, our tutoring is online, one-to-one, over live video. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE; visiting in-home tutors are an India-only service for us. If an in-home tutor at your Dubai address is a firm requirement, we are not the provider for that requirement. The in-home market band of AED 180 to 500 an hour is set out at the top of this article precisely so you can hire well without us, and the checks in this piece, board, code, tier, permit, coursework boundary, apply to whoever you hire.

Where online delivery genuinely suits IGCSE work rather than merely costing less: the code-specific tutor you need may not live within driving distance of your community. A 0607 International Mathematics tutor, or a 0606 Additional Mathematics tutor, or a first-language English 0500 specialist, is a narrow search, and restricting it to people who can reach one neighbourhood on a Tuesday evening is how families end up with a generalist teaching the wrong past papers. Past papers also work well on a shared screen: the mark scheme, the student's attempt and the annotation sit side by side in a way that is actually harder to achieve across a dining table. That is also why our area pages describe supply rather than promise presence: IGCSE home tutors in Arabian Ranches and IGCSE tutors near Jumeirah 1 are honest about what a neighbourhood pool contains for a named syllabus code. Our online IGCSE tutoring page for Dubai sets out how sessions run, and families in the northern emirates can start from the Cambridge IGCSE tutoring page for Sharjah. If you are still choosing a school rather than a tutor, our round-up of the best IGCSE schools in Dubai covers which boards and codes each one actually runs, which is the decision upstream of everything in this article.

What we will not claim, on this page or any other. We hold no KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, Ministry of Education, MoHRE, Cambridge or Pearson approval, accreditation, licensing or partnership, and we do not describe our tutors as approved by any of them. We guarantee no grade. We publish no satisfaction percentage, tutor count or star rating we cannot evidence with real, countable, attributable reviews. We do not reproduce or supply syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes or grade-boundary tables; we reference the official source and link to it, because that is both the lawful and the more useful answer. And we do not write coursework or anything that must be the student's own work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an IGCSE tutor cost per hour in Dubai?

Published Dubai rates sort into four bands: AED 45 to 150 an hour for a budget online tutor, with EdFlik advertising from AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya from AED 33 to 52; AED 150 to 300 for a qualified IGCSE subject tutor online, with Unitors listing IGCSE from AED 150; AED 180 to 500 for in-home one-to-one including travel, per Bestimate's Dubai table at 180 to 350 and independent home tutors at 200 to 500; and AED 200 to 450 or more for an exam-year specialist, with TutorChase publishing AED 270. Those are market rates read in October 2026, not IB Gram's prices.

Why does IGCSE tutoring end up costing more than I budgeted?

Because IGCSE is not one course. It is eight or nine separate single-subject qualifications, and tutoring is bought per subject. A family negotiates a good hourly rate for one subject, then finds two more wobbling by February, and the bill has tripled without the rate changing. The fix is deciding deliberately at the start of the year which two or three subjects genuinely need paid support and which need the school's own help plus a better revision routine. The subject count drives the total far more than the hourly rate does.

Is Core or Extended IGCSE Maths cheaper to tutor?

Core is cheaper, and the tier affects total spend more than the hourly rate does. Core covers the foundation syllabus with a grade ceiling below the top of the scale; Extended adds content, opens the full grade range, and keeps A-Level and IB Higher Level maths routes available. Extended therefore needs more weeks of teaching and justifies a higher band. The expensive case is a mid-course move from Core to Extended in Year 11, which means closing a content gap and learning an unfamiliar paper structure in a shortened run-up. Raise that possibility in Year 10.

What is the difference between Coordinated Sciences 0654 and separate sciences?

Cambridge IGCSE Coordinated Sciences 0654 covers biology, chemistry and physics as a double award in one timetable slot, with less depth per science than the separate syllabuses Physics 0625, Chemistry 0620 and Biology 0610. This matters financially because a tutor who prepares a 0654 candidate using separate-science past papers is teaching content that child will never be examined on, at full hourly rate. It is the most common mis-sold hour in Dubai science tutoring. Confirm the code with the school and tell the tutor before the first session.

Do I need to know the syllabus code before asking for a price?

Yes, and it is the most useful five minutes you can spend. At least four courses answer to "IGCSE Maths" in Dubai: Cambridge Mathematics 0580, Additional Mathematics 0606, International Mathematics 0607, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics on 4MA1. They have different syllabuses, papers and mark schemes, and a tutor fluent in one is not automatically fluent in another. The code is on the school's curriculum booklet and the exam entry confirmation, and the subject teacher will know it instantly. A quote given without it is a guess.

How many tutoring hours does one IGCSE subject need?

It depends on the gap, not the subject. One identified weakness, such as trigonometry or balancing equations or structured long-answer technique, often closes in six to ten weekly sessions, and the tutoring should then stop. A student two grades below target across a whole syllabus needs a term or more, because there is no single gap. At the AED 150 to 300 qualified-online band, one closed gap in one subject is realistically AED 900 to 3,000. Paper-technique work is the cheapest and most under-bought form, often four to six sessions.

When do IGCSE exams happen in Dubai?

Cambridge IGCSE candidates in the UAE sit the June series and the November series. Cambridge also runs a February/March series, but it is offered to India only, so a Dubai candidate does not sit it, and any revision plan built around February and March papers was written for a different country. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs in May/June and November. Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones with its own timetable version and cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong zone's timetable, so ask your school which zone it is in.

Can my child resit an IGCSE in Dubai?

For Cambridge candidates in the UAE the November series functions as the resit route after June, which is why the February/March series being India-only matters so much to UAE families: there is no spring resit here. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE also runs in November alongside May/June. The practical constraint is the entry deadline, which sits months ahead of the papers, so a resit decision taken casually in September can already be too late. Decide quickly after results and confirm the window with your school rather than from any website.

Are small-group IGCSE classes in Dubai worth it?

They are genuinely cheaper per student and work well under four conditions: the students share the board, the syllabus code, the tier and roughly the same gap. Three Year 11 students from one school, all on Extended 0580, all stuck on the same two topics, is efficient and often more motivating than one-to-one. A group fails when any of those four differ, because the tutor teaches to one student while the others wait. Providers rarely publish group composition, so ask bluntly which board, which code, which tier and what the group is working on this term.

How many IGCSE subjects does the UAE Ministry of Education require?

Five. Gulf Today's report of the Ministry's July 2026 clarification states that British-track students must pass five accredited subjects in GCSE or IGCSE certificates with a grade of no less than E or grade 3, plus one A-Level at no less than E or two AS-Levels at the same grade, and that Arabic and Islamic education are not included among the five required subjects. At least one competing page tells UAE parents the number is six. Treat five as the sourced figure, confirm it on the Ministry's own channel, and remember that universities set higher requirements on top.

Does my child have to study Arabic as well as their IGCSEs in Dubai?

Yes. KHDA's mandatory-subjects guidance confirms Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are required in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum. KHDA also requires separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, stating combined classes are strictly prohibited because of different curriculum expectations and language of instruction. That is why a Dubai timetable feels fuller than the same IGCSE course elsewhere, and it competes directly for the hours you are planning to spend on tutoring.

Does IB Gram send IGCSE tutors to homes in Dubai?

No. For families in Dubai and across the UAE, our tutoring is online and one-to-one over live video; visiting in-home tutors are an India-only service for us. We state that on the fees page rather than after an enquiry. If an in-home tutor at your address is a firm requirement, the Dubai market band for that is roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour including travel, and you should ask to see the tutor's MoHRE private tuition work permit, which is free and issued for two years, before engaging anyone.

Should I pay for a tutor before or after the mock exams?

The mock is the best diagnostic you will get all year, and it is free, so reading it properly before committing money is usually the better sequence, with one exception. If a subject is already clearly failing in Year 11, waiting for the mock wastes a term of the only window in which real content teaching is still possible. The general rule is to use the mock by topic and paper rather than by overall grade, because a C made of two strong papers and one collapsed one points to a very different and much cheaper intervention.

Can an IGCSE tutor help with coursework?

A tutor can teach the subject, explain the assessment criteria, question a plan and give feedback on work the student has written themselves. A tutor cannot write it, co-write it or edit it to completion, and no legitimate provider should offer to. Get that boundary confirmed in writing before the first session. For the same reason, we do not reproduce or supply syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes or grade-boundary tables; we cite the official source at cambridgeinternational.org or qualifications.pearson.com and link to it, which is both lawful and more useful than a copy.

Will Dubai tutoring prices rise for the 2026-27 year?

School fees are not rising: KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there would be no increase in private school fees in the emirate for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion within a AED 2.5 billion total. Tutoring is a separate, unregulated market that moves with demand, and demand tightens sharply in the term before an exam series. The practical consequence is about availability as much as price: a family deciding in September for a June series chooses from a wide field, while a family deciding in April chooses from what is left.
