Cambridge Upper Secondary usually maps onto US Grades 9 and 10. Credit policy is where the diploma pays off, and it varies by institution. Many US universities award credit or advanced standing for HL scores of 5 and above, some require 6 or 7, some grant credit for the full diploma rather than individual subjects, and highly selective institutions often award placement without credit. SL scores are frequently excluded altogether.
