IB Tutor near me in DAMAC Hills 2

Typing IB tutor near me in DAMAC Hills 2 is really a question about the clock, not the map. Your child leaves the Al Qudra corridor early, finishes at a school in Motor City or Sports City, and gets home somewhere after half four. IB Gram works out from that timetable: one-to-one online lessons on Gulf Standard Time, placed where your evening actually has a gap rather than where a tutor's drive ends.

  • Session times set from your school's finish time, not ours
  • One-to-one live video, so nothing is lost to Al Qudra Road traffic
  • No home visits anywhere in the UAE — online delivery only
  • Fixed weekly slot, same tutor, free trial lesson first

IB & IGCSE in DAMAC Hills 2

What 'near me' actually means when you live off Al Qudra Road

DAMAC Hills 2 was built for space, not for proximity. It sits out along the Al Qudra corridor, past the point where Dubai's school density thins, and almost every secondary-age child in the community is driven somewhere else each morning. That single fact reshapes the tutoring question. A parent typing IB tutor near me in DAMAC Hills 2 is not usually asking which street the tutor lives on. They are asking whether anything can realistically happen between the school run and bedtime.

Work the timetable forwards. A school day ending at 3:00pm or 3:30pm in Motor City, Dubai Sports City or further into the city means collection, then the drive back out along Hessa Street or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in the heaviest part of the afternoon. Home at 4:15pm on a good day, closer to five on a bad one. Then food, and a Diploma student with four hours of homework, a Maths Exploration deadline and a Theory of Knowledge essay they have been avoiding.

Now add a tutor who has to drive out to you. They are leaving a different part of Dubai in the same traffic. A six o'clock start is optimistic, half six is realistic, and the session ends at eight with a tired student and an invoice that silently includes eighty minutes of road. That arrangement is not bad because the tutor is bad. It is bad because the hour is wrong, and the hour is the one thing a parent in DAMAC Hills 2 cannot buy more of.

IB Gram removes the travel from both sides. Lessons for DAMAC Hills 2 families are delivered one-to-one over live video, on Gulf Standard Time. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE — in-home visiting is a service we run only in India. In practice that means a session can begin at 4:30pm or 4:45pm, the moment your child is home and has eaten, while they are still awake enough to learn something that holds.

It also means the tutor is chosen on the right criterion. Dubai had 387,441 private-school pupils across 227 schools in 2024-25 and the IB accounts for about 7% of them, spread right across the emirate. A specific Diploma course at Higher Level is therefore a small cohort citywide, and the subset of qualified specialists willing to drive to the Al Qudra corridor on a Tuesday is smaller still. Online, the question is only whether they have taught your child's course.

The rest of this page is built from that timetable: which schools DAMAC Hills 2 actually feeds, what time each day ends, where the gaps in a week genuinely are, and what Ramadan and the UAE school calendar do to all of it.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

The right session time changes with the programme, because the homework load and the deadline rhythm change with it. These are the IB programmes we cover for DAMAC Hills 2 families and what each does to a weekday evening.

PYPAges 3-12 · Foundation to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

Assessed continuously by the class teacher against learning outcomes rather than by examination, organised around transdisciplinary units of inquiry, and finishing with the Year 6 Exhibition. Support here is about reading fluency, number sense and the ability to explain a method in writing, which is what the later programmes quietly assume.

Primary children on a long school run are tired by four o'clock, and a session after five is usually wasted money. For DAMAC Hills 2 PYP families the workable slots are early — straight off the school run — or weekend mornings. We would rather say that than sell you an evening slot that will not work.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

Four criteria per subject, each marked 0-8, differing by subject group. Mathematics marks knowing and understanding, investigating patterns, communicating, and applying maths in real-life contexts. Year 11 adds the Personal Project with its own criteria. Reports give criterion letters rather than a single grade, which is more useful than it looks.

MYP students here can sustain a 5pm or 5:30pm session comfortably, and that is the band most DAMAC Hills 2 families settle into. The Personal Project in Year 11 is the point at which an evening slot needs protecting, because it competes with everything else for the same hours.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three Higher Level and three Standard, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service. Each subject carries an Internal Assessment marked internally and moderated by the IB. The total runs to 45, including up to three bonus points from the TOK and Extended Essay matrix. UAE schools sit the May session.

Diploma students are the ones who can genuinely use an 8pm or 8:30pm slot, and often prefer it, because they work late anyway. They are also the group for whom a visiting tutor's six o'clock arrival does the most damage, since that is their most productive independent hour and it gets spent waiting.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

At least two DP courses combined with a career-related study, a reflective project, service learning, personal and professional skills and language development. A route for a student who wants Diploma-standard academic subjects with a clear applied direction rather than the full six-subject load.

Only a few Dubai schools offer it, so DAMAC Hills 2 families usually encounter it as a mid-sixth-form option. The DP courses inside a CP are marked to the same standard as any Diploma candidate's, so the tutoring need is identical even though the overall timetable is lighter.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

The IB subjects DAMAC Hills 2 students most often need help with, and where the marks actually go. Availability varies by level and term, and the trial lesson is where the match gets confirmed.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Algebra carries it. Marks vanish in proof, in HL calculus applications, and in unstructured Paper 2 questions with no scaffold pointing at a technique. The Exploration is a fifth of the grade and is lost on absent personal engagement more often than on weak mathematics.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Modelling, statistics and confident calculator use. The usual failure is choosing it as the lighter option and then meeting regression and hypothesis testing with no statistical vocabulary. HL adds matrices, graph theory and complex numbers.

Physics

HL and SL

Paper 1 punishes loose definitions, Paper 2 rewards visible structured working, and Paper 3 tests experimental technique that textbook revision does not build. Uncertainty propagation and graph linearisation are the recurring gaps.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Organic mechanisms and energetics are the two walls. Reciting reagents is not the same as explaining why a nucleophile attacks where it does. The Internal Assessment needs a measurable variable and enough repeats to say something about uncertainty.

Biology

HL and SL

Content volume is the trap rather than difficulty. Command terms decide the mark: outline, explain, discuss and evaluate each want a different answer shape, and knowledgeable students writing the wrong shape score low.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Paper 1 is unseen analysis under time pressure, and most lost marks come from summarising instead of analysing how meaning is produced. The Individual Oral needs a genuine global issue and two prepared works; improvisation is audible.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagrams must be drawn, labelled and then used in the prose rather than placed beside it. The commentaries are assessed on application to a named real article, so the article choice sets the ceiling before any analysis is written.

Business Management

HL and SL

Frameworks score nothing alone; marks sit in applying them to the case material and reaching a supported judgement. The HL research project needs a real organisation and a question narrow enough to answer inside the word limit.

Theory of Knowledge

Core

Assessed by the exhibition of three objects and the prescribed-title essay, feeding the three bonus points alongside the Extended Essay. The essay fails when it becomes general opinion rather than claim and counterclaim grounded in specific areas of knowledge.

Extended Essay supervision support

Core

Four thousand words of independent research against five criteria. The research question decides most of the grade: too broad and nothing is answered, too narrow and there is no argument. A tutor coaches question, method and reflection; the writing stays the student's.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three patterns that fit a DAMAC Hills 2 week, all delivered online over live video. The choice is mostly about which hour of the day your child can still think in.

Straight off the school run

A 4:30pm or 4:45pm start, before the evening collapses into homework and fatigue. This is the slot that only exists because nobody is driving to you, and it is the one that suits MYP students and younger Diploma students best. The session ends with daylight left and the rest of the evening intact.

  • Starts within fifteen minutes of your child reaching home
  • Sixty minutes is usually the right length in this slot
  • Suits MYP and Year 12 students who fade after eight
  • Leaves independent homework time afterwards rather than before

Late evening Diploma block

An 8pm or 8:30pm ninety-minute slot for Year 12 and 13 students who work late anyway and are sharpest once the house is quiet. Deliberately long enough to work through a full past-paper section and mark it together, which a sixty-minute slot cannot do without rushing.

  • Ninety minutes, once or twice a week
  • Built around full past-paper sections and live marking
  • Works with Internal Assessment and Extended Essay deadlines
  • Avoids competing with the student's own productive early-evening hours

Weekend intensive

Friday or Saturday mornings, for families whose weekdays genuinely have no gap, and for exam-term work where two or three hours in one sitting is more useful than three separate hours. Most DAMAC Hills 2 households use this as an addition before mocks rather than as the whole arrangement.

  • Two to three hours in one sitting, weekend mornings
  • Best for exam-term consolidation and timed practice
  • Keeps weekday evenings free during a heavy coursework term
  • Often paired with one short weekday session in term time

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in DAMAC Hills 2

01

Which schools DAMAC Hills 2 feeds, and when each day actually ends

Nobody can plan a tutoring week without this information, and no competitor page publishes it. The schools DAMAC Hills 2 families use fall into two groups: a short run along the Al Qudra corridor, mostly primary and through-school, and a longer run into Motor City, Dubai Sports City and the inner Dubailand belt where most secondary students are enrolled.

The finish times matter more than the distances. A primary day ending just after two o'clock and a secondary day ending at half three produce completely different evenings, and a household with both is running two timetables at once. Add the afternoon traffic on Hessa Street, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and the Al Qudra approach, and the gap between a short and a long run is thirty to forty minutes of a child's usable attention.

The table below is built from how the day runs rather than from any school's published bell schedule, which varies by year group and term. Use it as a shape and check your own school's times. The last column is the one to read: it is the earliest a session can realistically start if nobody is travelling to you, and the figure a visiting tutor would have to beat. Families with children at two different schools should read two rows and plan around the later one, because in practice the second pickup sets the household timetable.

One more pattern worth naming. Several of these schools finish earlier on a Friday, which creates a long usable afternoon that almost nobody books. For a Diploma student with an Internal Assessment deadline approaching, a Friday afternoon block is often the most productive two hours available in the whole week, and it competes with nothing.

Where the gaps in a DAMAC Hills 2 week really are

Most tutoring arrangements fail on scheduling rather than on teaching. A family agrees a time that works in theory, then football is on Tuesdays, the Extended Essay deadline lands in November, and by February the sessions have quietly stopped. Picking the slot properly at the start is worth more than any amount of mid-year rescuing.

There are really four candidate windows in a week out here. The post-school-run slot between 4:15pm and 5:30pm, which only exists if nobody is travelling. The post-dinner slot from 7pm, which competes with the student's own best independent working hour. The late slot from 8pm, which Diploma students use well and younger students cannot. And weekend mornings, which are reliable and underused.

The honest ranking depends on age. For a PYP or lower MYP child, earlier is better and 8pm is pointless. For a Year 12 or 13 Diploma student, 8pm is often the best hour of the day and 4:30pm catches them still travelling or still eating. For a household with three children at different schools, weekend mornings are frequently the only honest answer and we would rather say so than agree a weekday slot that will collapse by October.

The table maps the four windows against who they suit and what kind of work they support. Choose with your child in the room; they know which hour they can think in better than either of us. Pick one window and protect it rather than agreeing to whichever hour happens to be free in September, because the hour that is free in September is rarely the hour that survives to February.

Ramadan, prayer times and the UAE school calendar

  • Ramadan usually needs a late-morning, early-afternoon or post-Iftar slot
  • Prayer times move through the year and are built into the slot from the start
  • Sessions continue while a family travels, since no travel is involved anyway
  • Reset the slot deliberately rather than letting cancellations accumulate

A tutoring plan written in September that ignores the UAE academic year will be broken by February. The school year here runs from late summer to the start of summer, with a winter break, a spring break and Ramadan moving through the calendar roughly eleven days earlier each year. None of that is an obstacle, but all of it has to be planned for rather than discovered.

Ramadan is the biggest change. School days shorten, the rhythm of the evening reorganises around Iftar, and students who were comfortable at six o'clock are not. DAMAC Hills 2 families typically do one of three things: shift to a late-morning or early-afternoon slot, move to a post-Iftar slot later in the evening, or pause part of the month and resume with a heavier block afterwards. All three work. Pretending the usual Tuesday at six still works is the one that does not.

Prayer times matter year-round, not only in Ramadan, and they move through the calendar. We set slots around them from the start rather than asking a family to raise it. The same applies to Islamic and public holidays, to the long summer, and to the travel weekends that are a normal part of life in this community — sessions continue while a family is away, because the tutor's location is already part of the arrangement rather than an obstacle to it.

The practical commitment is small: tell us the new pattern and we reset the fixed slot. What we try to avoid is the drift where a session is cancelled, then rescheduled, then cancelled, and nobody says out loud that the arrangement has ended.

04

Why distance stopped being the thing that matters

The whole premise of a near me search is that proximity is the scarce resource. For a Diploma subject in DAMAC Hills 2 it is not. The scarce resource is somebody who has taught that specific course at that specific level, and the population of such people in the Dubailand belt with a free weekday evening is small enough that for some subjects it is empty.

Consider the arithmetic. Dubai had 387,441 private-school pupils in 2024-25, with the IB at around 7% of enrolment, spread across the entire emirate. Only the final two years of that cohort sit the Diploma. Narrow to one subject at Higher Level and you have a small citywide group of students and a smaller group of qualified teachers, most of whom are serving school staff — and the MoHRE permit code of conduct, along with ADEK's professional-ethics rules in Abu Dhabi, bars a teacher from paid tutoring of students at their own school.

Market rates make the same point from the money side. Published Dubai figures read in October 2026: qualified online subject tutors run AED 150-300 an hour, with Unitors publishing IB from AED 200; IB and IGCSE specialists run AED 200-450 and above, with TutorChase at AED 270; in-home one-to-one visits run AED 180-500 including travel, per Bestimate and local listings; budget online starts at AED 33-65 with Tutopiya and EdFlik. The in-home premium does not buy more expertise. It buys a car journey.

Those figures belong to the providers named and are market rates, not IB Gram prices. We do not publish a rate card on these pages, because the honest number depends on subject, level and the weeks remaining — the free trial and the consultation are where you get a real quote.

The workload a DAMAC Hills 2 Diploma student is actually carrying

  • Six subjects, six Internal Assessments, plus TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS
  • Internal deadlines are set by the school, not by the IB, and cluster in two terms
  • A long commute removes a meaningful share of assumed independent study time
  • Triage across the whole workload beats adding hours to the weakest subject

Parents often underestimate this, and then read a dip in grades as a motivation problem. A full Diploma candidate is running six subjects, three of them at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, plus a 4,000-word Extended Essay, plus Creativity, Activity, Service hours, plus an Internal Assessment in every single subject. That is six separate coursework projects with six separate internal deadlines, all set by the school rather than by the IB, and all landing in the same two terms.

Add the commute. A student travelling forty minutes each way to an inner-city IB school is spending more than an hour a day in a car, which is an hour not spent on any of the above. Over a term that is a substantial fraction of the independent study the course assumes exists. It is one of the real reasons DAMAC Hills 2 Diploma families end up looking for help, and it is a structural problem rather than a failing on the student's part.

What good tutoring does in that situation is mostly triage. Not more hours of everything, but a clear view of which deadline is closest, which Internal Assessment is at risk of being designed badly rather than written badly, and which subject is losing marks to a fixable technique rather than to missing knowledge. A specialist who sees the whole picture once a week is worth more than three tutors each optimising for their own subject.

That is also why we keep a fixed slot and a single tutor where we can. The value compounds: by the third month the tutor knows which mistakes are habits, which deadline the student is quietly avoiding, and which subject the school report is overstating.

06

What a tutor may and may not do with Diploma coursework

  • Permitted: teaching content, explaining criteria, coaching a question, reviewing method, feedback on the student's own draft
  • Not permitted: writing, drafting, rewriting, templating or editing coursework to a finish
  • No past papers or mark schemes supplied as downloads — we link the official source
  • A provider selling a completed IA is selling the student a malpractice finding

This has to be said plainly on a UAE IB page, because the search results for Dubai IB help include operators who sell finished coursework — one advertises completed Internal Assessments at AED 3,750. Buying one is not a shortcut with a price attached. It is an academic-honesty breach, and the IB withdraws awards for malpractice.

The permitted side is broad and useful. A tutor may teach the content the assessment rests on. They may explain what each criterion asks for and what marks it carries. They may help narrow a research question until it is genuinely answerable. They may review a method and point out that it will not generate usable data. They may read a draft the student has written and give feedback on it. All of that is ordinary teaching.

The line is authorship. A tutor may not write any part of the work, supply text to be inserted, rewrite the student's prose, provide a fill-in template, or edit a draft to a finish so that the submitted piece is substantially theirs. The student signs a declaration that the work is their own and the supervisor signs alongside them, so this is not a technicality.

We also do not supply IB, Cambridge or Pearson syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes or grade-boundary tables as downloads. Those belong to the awarding bodies. We cite them, link the official source and teach from them, which is both lawful and more useful than a folder of PDFs.

07

What we will not tell you

  • No unverified IB dates — the May session is named, specific dates come from your school
  • No self-generated ratings, no statistics without n, date and method
  • No regulator approval claimed, no UAE office, no home visits
  • No grade or score guarantees of any kind

A few things are missing from this page on purpose, and the omissions are worth naming because their presence elsewhere should make you suspicious.

There is no specific IB exam date. The IB's own site blocks automated retrieval, so no IB session or results date in this project has been confirmed from ibo.org, and we are not going to put an unverified date in front of a parent who will act on it. UAE schools sit the May session; get the exact dates from your school's IB coordinator or from ibo.org. Cambridge and Pearson dates are published and we quote those, including the correction that Cambridge's February/March series is India-only while UAE candidates sit June and November.

There is no star rating, no satisfaction percentage and no average score achieved by our students. Competitors publish figures like 4.9 from several hundred reviews, sometimes two different versions on the same page, and none of them states a sample size, a date or a method. A number without those three things is decoration. We would rather have no number than a decorative one.

There is no regulator claim. IB Gram holds no KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, MoE, MoHRE, IB or Cambridge approval, accreditation, licence or partnership, has no office, centre or branch in the UAE, and will not send a tutor to a DAMAC Hills 2 address. And there is no guarantee of a grade, a points total or an improvement, because nobody can honestly offer one and the offer itself tells you what kind of operation you are dealing with.

08

When no specialist is free for your subject

Nobody covers every IB subject at every level in every term, and a provider implying otherwise is one to distrust. Theory of Knowledge at short notice, Higher Level Computer Science, smaller Group 2 languages, Music and Film are genuinely scarce, and a family asking in March deserves an answer rather than a holding pattern.

So: if a matching specialist is free, we propose them and you take a free trial lesson with that person. If the only available specialist works from another time zone, we say so and offer the slots that actually exist — which for most of our roster means early morning or evening in Gulf Standard Time, and for a DAMAC Hills 2 Diploma student an 8pm slot often fits better than anything local would have. If nobody suitable is free, we say that too.

What we will never offer as a fallback is a home visit, because there is no UAE visiting service to fall back on. There is also no fallback where a general tutor is quietly substituted for a Higher Level specialist eight weeks before a session. We would rather lose the enquiry, and we have.

If the match turns out to be wrong after it starts, say so in the first fortnight. A mismatch between a competent tutor and a particular student is common and is nobody's failure. It is a reason to change tutor, not a reason to spend a term hoping.

Where we tutor

The Dubailand belt and how far each community sits from its schools

Every community along this corridor has the same structure — housing here, schools there — and small differences in the drive change what time a session can start. These are the neighbourhoods around DAMAC Hills 2.

DAMAC Hills 2

Off the Al Qudra corridor, formerly Akoya Oxygen. Secondary students travel out daily, and a 3:30pm bell typically becomes a 4:30pm arrival home once the Hessa Street and Emirates Road traffic is accounted for.

DAMAC Hills

Jebel Ali School sits inside this community, so primary families here have a genuinely short run and can use a 4pm slot that DAMAC Hills 2 households usually cannot.

Arabian Ranches 3

Closest established community on the Emirates Road side, sharing the same school pool. Families here often collect twenty minutes earlier than DAMAC Hills 2, which widens the usable evening.

Mudon

Al Qudra side, largely primary and lower secondary. Enquiries tend to be about Year 9 readiness rather than exam-year rescue, and afternoon slots work better here than evening ones.

Remraam

Apartment community served by South View School. The shortest run in the belt for those enrolled there, and the community where the travel premium on a visiting tutor is weighed most carefully.

Town Square

Further along the corridor, dense with commuting parents, so sessions commonly land after six. Same thin local specialist supply as DAMAC Hills 2 and the same reason online works.

Dubai Sports City

Fifteen to twenty minutes towards town, with Victory Heights Primary, GEMS United and Bradenton Preparatory Academy. The nearest point at which a DAMAC Hills 2 school run becomes short.

Motor City

GEMS Metropole and a settled British-curriculum population. A common destination for DAMAC Hills 2 secondary students, and the reason our first question is which school rather than which community.

School ecosystem

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Tell us the school and the finish time

Which school, which year group, and what time your child actually gets home — not the bell time, the door time. That single number determines which of the four usable windows in a DAMAC Hills 2 week we are working with, and it is the thing most providers never ask.

  2. 02

Name the subjects and levels precisely

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL is a different tutor from Applications and Interpretation SL. Tell us the level, the school's current topic in that course, and what the last report or mock said, so the diagnostic starts in the right place.

  3. 03

    A diagnostic on real questions

Before any plan exists, the student works through past-paper questions at their level while a specialist watches. The real gap surfaces there, and it is usually narrower than the school report suggests: a command term misread, a technique never taught, a topic missed during a move.

  4. 04

Free trial lesson in the slot you would actually use

The specialist proposed for your child teaches a full session, at the time you intend to keep, so you find out whether that hour works as well as whether the tutor does. If either is wrong, nothing has been spent and we change it.

  5. 05

Fix the slot and protect it

Once the time works it stays the same week to week, around prayer times and sport and family commitments, with a planned change for Ramadan rather than an improvised one. A slot that moves every week is the main reason tutoring quietly stops in this community.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

We plan from your school's finish time

The first question is what time your child reaches the door, because in DAMAC Hills 2 that number decides everything else. A session that starts fifteen minutes after they get home is a different lesson from one that starts at half six with a tired student.

Nothing lost to Al Qudra Road

No travel either side means an earlier start, no cancellation caused by traffic, and no travel premium built into the rate. The forty minutes a visiting tutor would spend driving stays in your child's evening instead.

The slot is fixed, and the tutor is the same person

Value compounds when one specialist sees the same student weekly for months: they learn which mistakes are habits, which deadline is being avoided, and which subject the school report overstates. A rotating pool never gets there.

Ramadan and the UAE calendar planned, not discovered

Shortened school days, prayer times, Iftar and the travel weekends that are normal here all get built into the schedule from the start, with a deliberate reset rather than a run of cancellations that quietly ends the arrangement.

AED figures with their source and date

Three of six ranking competitors publish no price and two quote US dollars. Every rate here names the provider who published it and the month it was read, and none is presented as an IB Gram price.

Limits stated before you pay

No home visits anywhere in the UAE, no office here, no regulator approval claimed, no unverified IB exam dates and no grade guarantees. You will not discover any of that after committing to a term.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in DAMAC Hills 2: your questions answered

What is the earliest a session can start after the DAMAC Hills 2 school run?+

For a short run — Jebel Ali School in DAMAC Hills, or South View in Remraam — around 4:00pm to 4:15pm, allowing a short settling gap. From Motor City or Dubai Sports City in peak traffic, 4:45pm is realistic. From an inner-city IB school in Al Barsha, 5:15pm, and many of those families choose an 8pm slot instead. The reason these times are possible at all is that nobody is driving to you. A visiting tutor leaving another part of Dubai in the same traffic is realistically starting at half six.

Is there an IB tutor who lives near DAMAC Hills 2?+

Some, and for primary or general MYP support the local pool is adequate. For a named Diploma subject at Higher Level it is often empty. The Diploma is roughly 7% of Dubai's 387,441 private-school pupils spread across the whole emirate, and only the final two years sit it, so a single course at a single level is a small citywide cohort. Most qualified teachers are serving school staff, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct bars tutoring students enrolled at their own school. Online matching is how that constraint gets removed.

Which schools do DAMAC Hills 2 children actually go to?+

Jebel Ali School sits in neighbouring DAMAC Hills. On the Al Qudra side families use South View School, The Aquila School, Ranches Primary School, JESS Arabian Ranches and Fairgreen International School, which runs the IB continuum. For secondary, most travel to GEMS Metropole in Motor City, the Dubai Sports City cluster including Victory Heights Primary, GEMS United and Bradenton Preparatory Academy, Dunecrest American School or Lycée Français Jean Mermoz. We name these as context and have no affiliation with any of them. The school matters because it sets both the scheme of work and the finish time.

Which weekly slot works best for a Year 12 student out here?+

Usually the late one, 8pm to 9:30pm, and usually ninety minutes rather than sixty. Diploma students work late anyway, are sharpest once the house is quiet, and need a block long enough to complete a past-paper section and mark it together rather than rushing. The 4:30pm slot suits MYP students and younger Diploma students better. The 7pm slot looks convenient but takes the student's own most productive independent hour, which is usually a bad trade in an exam year.

How do sessions change during Ramadan in DAMAC Hills 2?+

They move, and they should. School days shorten and the evening reorganises around Iftar, so the usual six o'clock slot stops working. Families here typically do one of three things: switch to a late-morning or early-afternoon session, move to a post-Iftar slot later in the evening, or pause for part of the month and resume afterwards with a heavier block. Content also shifts towards consolidation rather than new teaching. Tell us which pattern suits and we reset the fixed slot deliberately rather than letting cancellations accumulate.

Will a tutor come to our house in DAMAC Hills 2 if we pay more?+

No. IB Gram makes no home visits anywhere in the UAE at any price — in-home tutoring is a service we offer in India only, and there is no UAE visiting arrangement to upgrade to. Other Dubai providers do visit, at published market rates of around AED 180-500 an hour including travel, and from the Al Qudra corridor a fair share of that is the drive. Our position is that the premium buys presence rather than expertise, and for a Diploma subject expertise is the thing in short supply.

How much time does the commute cost a Diploma student here?+

For a student travelling to an inner-city IB school, often more than an hour a day door to door, which over a term is a substantial share of the independent study the Diploma assumes. That is one of the real reasons DAMAC Hills 2 families seek help: six subjects with six Internal Assessments, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, all competing for fewer usable hours than the course was designed around. It is a structural squeeze rather than a motivation problem, and triage across the workload helps more than extra hours in one subject.

Can one tutor handle more than one of my child's IB subjects?+

Sometimes, and there is a real argument for it. A tutor who sees the whole workload can weigh a Chemistry Internal Assessment deadline against a Maths mock instead of each tutor optimising for their own subject. Mathematics and Physics overlap enough that one specialist often covers both credibly. Chemistry and Biology diverge at Higher Level. What we will not do is stretch one tutor across courses they do not genuinely teach to save a second match, because two correct specialists always beat one willing generalist.

What do IB tutors charge for families in this part of Dubai?+

Published Dubai market figures, read in October 2026: budget online from AED 33-65 an hour (Tutopiya, EdFlik), qualified online subject tutors AED 150-300 with Unitors publishing IB from AED 200, IB specialists AED 200-450 and above with TutorChase at AED 270, and in-home visits AED 180-500 including travel. Monthly packages advertised run around AED 799 for eight online sessions and AED 1,599-1,799 for four in-home two-hour visits. These belong to the providers named, not to us. We quote after the free trial, since the number depends on subject, level and weeks remaining.

When is the IB exam session for schools near DAMAC Hills 2?+

UAE schools sit the May session. We publish no specific IB date, and the reason is worth knowing: the IB's own site blocks automated checking, so no IB session or results date in this project has been confirmed from ibo.org, and we will not put an unverified date in front of a parent who will plan around it. Get exact dates from your school's IB coordinator or ibo.org. For IGCSE siblings, Cambridge runs June and November series — the February/March series is India-only — and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs May/June and November.

Where exactly does IA and Extended Essay coaching stop being allowed?+

With it, yes; instead of them, no. A tutor may teach the underlying content, explain what each criterion asks for and the marks it carries, help narrow a research question until it is answerable, review whether a method will generate usable data, and give feedback on a draft the student has written themselves. A tutor may not write any part of it, supply text to insert, rewrite the prose or edit it to a finish. Operators in this market sell completed Internal Assessments; that is a malpractice risk to the student's whole Diploma.

Does a tutor working with a Dubai family need a MoHRE permit?+

Yes. Any individual charging for private tuition in the UAE needs the MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years. MoHRE's service page lists a two-working-day completion time via its smart app, website or e-services, and eligibility covers school and sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and students aged 15 to 18. Ask to see the permit and verify it with MoHRE. Tutoring without one attracts fines and penalties under the applicable laws; no amounts are published, so ignore circulating figures.

Who regulates the schools DAMAC Hills 2 families use?+

KHDA, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, which is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in Dubai and inspects annually on a six-band scale from Outstanding to Very Weak. Elsewhere in the country it is ADEK in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, SPEA in Sharjah, the Department of Knowledge in Ras Al Khaimah, and the federal Ministry of Education for Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. None of them regulates private tutors — that sits with MoHRE's permit — so treat any tutoring provider implying regulator endorsement with caution.

How quickly can you arrange a tutor for a DAMAC Hills 2 family?+

For common Diploma subjects at Standard Level and most MYP work, usually a specialist and a trial slot within a few days. Higher Level sciences, Higher Level Computer Science, Theory of Knowledge at short notice and smaller language options take longer and sometimes cannot be covered in a given term at all. We tell you which case you are in rather than keeping the enquiry open. If the only matching specialist works from another time zone, we say so and offer the slots that genuinely exist before you commit.

What if the slot works but the tutor does not?+

Tell us in the first fortnight and we rematch. A mismatch between a capable tutor and a particular student is common and is nobody's failure — pace, explanation style and personality matter more than credentials once basic competence is established. If the trial lesson itself is wrong, nothing has been spent and we propose somebody else. The thing not to do is spend a term hoping it improves, which is how families lose the money and the term together.

Start with the time your child gets home

Everything useful about finding an IB tutor near me in DAMAC Hills 2 follows from one number: what time your child walks through the door. Tell us that, along with the school, the subjects and the levels, and we will tell you which of the four usable windows in a DAMAC Hills 2 week fits, propose a specialist who has taught that course, and arrange a free trial lesson in the slot you actually intend to keep. Lessons are one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, with no home visits anywhere in the UAE, so nothing in your evening gets spent on Al Qudra Road.
