IB IGCSE Tutor near me in Al Ramtha

A search for an IB IGCSE tutor near me in Al Ramtha sorts people by distance. This page sorts the problem instead: which topics actually cost marks in the sciences and maths, what each internal assessment criterion rewards, what the word limits are and where to confirm them, and how a parent can read a mark scheme well enough to check their own child's work. Teaching is one-to-one over live video, matched to the course rather than the postcode.

  • Topic-level diagnosis from a marked script
  • Criterion-by-criterion feedback, never written by the tutor

IB & IGCSE in Al Ramtha

Sorting by syllabus instead of by distance

Al Ramtha is in the older central-western part of Sharjah, with schools nearby and a long-established tutoring market around it. A parent here can find somebody to teach their child quickly. What a distance-sorted list cannot tell you is whether any of those people knows where marks are actually lost in the course your child is taking, which is the only question that affects the grade.

Marks in these qualifications go in specific, repeatable places. In IGCSE chemistry, mole ratios taken from the wrong species, electrolysis products guessed rather than reasoned, and observations written as conclusions. In physics, parallel circuits and gradients read off a graph rather than calculated. In an IB science internal assessment, a research design with uncontrolled variables and an evaluation that lists limitations without weighing them. None of that is mysterious, and all of it is diagnosable from one marked script by somebody who has taught the course.

The internal assessment side deserves particular attention, because it is where IB marks are quietly lost and where the least help is available locally. Assessment is against criteria by letter, each with published descriptors, and students who have not read them write earnestly in the wrong direction. A tutor who has supervised the component knows which criterion a draft is failing and can say so in one sentence; a generalist improves the prose and leaves the criterion untouched.

There is also a mechanical layer that families rarely see: word and page limits per component, the mapping between a syllabus topic and the paper it appears on, and the way a mark scheme allocates marks inside a single question. Each of those is public, checkable and useful, and knowing them changes how a student prepares. A four-mark explain question wants four linked statements, not one statement written four ways.

So this page is written from the syllabus up. It sets out where marks go topic by topic, what each internal assessment criterion rewards, where to confirm the limits that apply to your child's cohort, how to use a mark scheme at home, and the one habit - writing method out - that pays in both systems at once.

None of this requires a parent to learn any chemistry. The checks in the sections below are structural - does the tutor name topics or talk about confidence, does the student read the mark allocation before writing, has anybody read the criteria descriptors - and a parent can apply every one of them without opening a textbook.

Our delivery is one-to-one over live video, scheduled in Gulf Standard Time, with the match made on board, code and level. IB Gram does not run home visits anywhere in the UAE; home tutoring in a family's house is a service we offer only in India. For course-specific work that is an advantage, because the specialist in a narrow subject rarely lives within a short drive of any particular address.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Three courses, three different kinds of expertise. The level or tier matters as much as the subject, so both belong in an enquiry.

DPAges 16-19 · DP1-DP2

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects at higher or standard level, each combining terminal papers with an internal assessment marked against published criteria and moderated by the IB, plus Theory of Knowledge and an extended essay. Teaching has to serve both halves, and they reward different behaviour - criterion precision in the assessment, technique in the papers.

Sharjah has few schools authorised for the Diploma Programme, so the number of adults in this emirate who have supervised a specific DP internal assessment is small. That is the single clearest reason an Al Ramtha family gains from matching nationally rather than locally.

MYPAges 11-16 · MYP 1-5

IB Middle Years Programme

Criterion-assessed with task-specific descriptors issued per assignment. In the sciences the criteria cover knowing and understanding, inquiring and designing, processing and evaluating, and reflecting on impacts - and students who have not read the descriptors routinely under-answer the last two.

Sharjah schools timetable mandatory Arabic, Islamic Education and social studies alongside the Middle Years curriculum, so sessions need to be short and criterion-specific. Forty-five focused minutes before a task beats ninety minutes of general supervision.

IGCSEAges 14-16 · Years 10-11

Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE

Terminal written papers with published mark schemes, tiered at Cambridge into Core and Extended. Cambridge sciences include an alternative-to-practical paper that tests practical skills in writing - a distinct technique that is teachable in a handful of sessions and usually left until the week before.

UAE candidates sit the June and November series; the February/March Cambridge series is offered in India only. Entries run through the school's centre, and each centre belongs to one of six administrative zones with its own timetable version.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

IB subjects described by their failure modes rather than their content lists, because that is what a tutor needs to know and what a parent can check.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Energetics, equilibrium and organic mechanisms carry the lost marks, and extended responses are marked for precision rather than enthusiasm. In the internal assessment, uncontrolled variables in the research design cost more than an unambitious topic ever would.

Physics

HL and SL

Mechanics and fields, with sign conventions and unstated assumptions causing most avoidable losses. Uncertainty treatment is the most neglected part of the investigation and among the quickest things to coach, which makes it efficient early work.

Biology

HL and SL

Content-heavy, so the grade turns on command terms and data-based questions. Statistical treatment in the investigation is a recurring weakness: students collect data and then describe it rather than testing anything with it.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Method must be written and justified, not implied - the single biggest adjustment for students arriving from a strong IGCSE background. The exploration fails most often on a question too broad to analyse properly.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Modelling and statistics, with technology expected. Interpretation is where marks go: explaining what a result means about the situation rather than restating the calculation.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagram accuracy - axes labelled, shifts drawn - plus evaluation that reaches a judgement. The commentaries need one syllabus section applied tightly to one article rather than a general discussion of the news.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Unseen analysis and the individual oral. Orals fail when the global issue is too broad to anchor in two extracts, which is a selection problem rather than a writing one and therefore fixable in advance.

Business Management

HL and SL

Tools must be applied to the case rather than described. Students lose marks writing everything they know about a concept instead of using it to reach a judgement about the organisation in the question.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

The Cambridge and Pearson side, described the same way - by where the marks go rather than by what the syllabus covers.

Chemistry (0620 / 4CH1)

Core and Extended

Mole ratios from the wrong species, electrolysis products guessed, organic conditions written vaguely, and the observation-versus-conclusion problem. The extended paper marks wording strictly, so precision recovers marks the student has already earned.

Physics (0625 / 4PH1)

Core and Extended · Single tier at Edexcel

Parallel circuits and gradients taken by reading a value rather than calculating over a large interval. The alternative-to-practical paper wants named instruments, variables, repeats and sources of error, and rewards a student who can narrate method.

Biology (0610 / 4BI1)

Core and Extended

Marks sit in command words and diagram work. Describe, explain and suggest ask for different things, and a candidate who answers all three the same way caps their long-answer marks regardless of knowledge.

Mathematics (0580 / 4MA1)

Core and Extended · Foundation and Higher

Bounds, rearrangement under time pressure, and multi-step problems abandoned one operation early. Method marks are available in most structured questions and are routinely forfeited by candidates writing only an answer.

Coordinated Sciences (0654)

Double award

Three sciences in two grades with less teaching time per strand. The first job in any block is identifying which strand is dragging the grade, because there is no time to treat all three equally.

First Language English (0500)

Single tier

Directed writing assessed on effect rather than summary, and a register that must shift with the task. Writing the same task twice and comparing against the mark scheme moves marks faster than reading more.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways of working, each tied to a different kind of subject problem. All are one-to-one over live video and all begin with a free trial lesson.

Topic-level repair

Two to four sessions on a named topic that keeps costing marks - electrolysis, moments, bounds, uncertainty treatment. A diagnostic question set comes first, the work is marked against the published scheme, and the block ends when the topic stops appearing in the error log.

  • Diagnostic questions before session one
  • Named topic, fixed number of sessions
  • Ends when the error stops recurring

Criterion coaching for assessed work

For IB students: the criteria read together in the first session, the research question narrowed until the available data can answer it, method and uncertainty planned before writing, then drafts read against the descriptors. The tutor explains; the student writes every word.

  • Descriptors read at the start, not after a draft
  • Method and data planned before any writing
  • Feedback by criterion letter, never editing

Paper technique intensive

Short and mechanical: how many points a mark allocation implies, what each command term requires, how to allocate minutes to marks, and how to write method so the method marks are available. Aimed at students who know more than their scripts show.

  • Mark allocation read before answering
  • Command-term drill on real questions
  • Method written out in every solution

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Al Ramtha

01

Where marks go in the sciences, topic by topic

A tutor's first useful act is to replace 'needs to revise more' with a list. The list is remarkably stable across cohorts and across schools, which is why a specialist can produce it from one marked script while a generalist needs a term to arrive at the same place.

In chemistry, three recurring problems. Mole calculations where the ratio is taken from the wrong species in the equation. Electrolysis where the product at each electrode is guessed from memory rather than reasoned from the ions present. And the language problem: a question asking what you would see wants 'a white precipitate forms', not 'it goes cloudy' and certainly not the conclusion 'so it is a sulfate'. The first is conceptual, the second is procedural and the third is a writing habit, and they need different treatment.

In physics, the losses cluster around circuits and graphs. A candidate who can state Ohm's law still mishandles a parallel branch. A candidate who has drawn a line of best fit still reads a value off it instead of calculating a gradient across a large interval. And on the alternative-to-practical paper, answers about 'measuring carefully' go unrewarded where the scheme wants a named instrument, a repeat and a control.

In biology, command words dominate. Describe asks for what happens, explain for why with a mechanism, suggest for a reasoned possibility in unfamiliar context - and a candidate who treats them as synonyms limits their long-answer marks regardless of how well they know the content. Data questions compound it: students describe a trend when the question asks them to account for it.

What each internal assessment criterion rewards

IB internal assessments are marked against criteria identified by letter, each with published descriptors, and the single most useful hour a tutor spends on assessed work is reading those descriptors with the student before anything is written. Students who meet the criteria only after a first draft comes back have usually written in the wrong direction for weeks.

In the sciences, the criteria cover the design of the research, the analysis of the data, the conclusion and the evaluation. Each fails in a characteristic way. Research design fails on uncontrolled variables and a question too vague to answer. Data analysis fails when processing is presented without uncertainty. Conclusions fail when they state what the student expected rather than what the data supports. Evaluation fails as a list of limitations with no weighing of which mattered.

In mathematics, the exploration is assessed on presentation, mathematical communication, personal engagement, reflection and the use of mathematics. The failure pattern differs: students choose a topic too broad for genuine analysis, then narrate rather than reflect. Reflection in particular is widely misunderstood as describing what was done instead of evaluating what it showed and what it could not show.

In the Middle Years sciences the criteria address knowing and understanding, inquiring and designing, processing and evaluating, and reflecting on impacts. The last two are where diligent students lose levels, because school tasks often reward the first two and students generalise from that. The exact descriptors and any mark allocations for your child's cohort are in the subject guide and task sheets the school issues - ask for them, and read them, because they change between syllabus cycles and the school's version is the authoritative one.

03

Limits, lengths and where to confirm them

Every assessed component has a length constraint, and students meet them late and inaccurately - usually from a rumour in a group chat rather than from the subject guide. Getting this right is administrative rather than intellectual and it protects marks.

The practical rule is that the only limits worth working to are the ones in the current guide and task sheet your school issues for your child's cohort. These documents change between syllabus cycles, so a figure quoted on a tutoring site, including this one, can be out of date by the time a student reads it. We therefore name the components and tell you where to confirm the number rather than publishing figures that might age badly.

What is generally true across components is worth knowing. Exceeding a stated limit does not usually earn a penalty in the form of lost raw marks so much as it costs the student the marks in the sections an examiner stops reading, and it signals an inability to select - which several criteria specifically reward. Under-length work is a clearer problem: it usually means a criterion has not been addressed at all.

The second mechanical point is mark allocation inside a question, which applies to papers rather than coursework. A four-mark explain question wants four linked statements. A two-mark calculate question usually has a method mark and an answer mark, which means a bare answer forfeits half of it. Students who read the mark allocation before writing make measurably fewer structural errors, and it takes one session to establish the habit.

Reading a mark scheme at home

  • Have the student award their own marks aloud against the scheme
  • Mark strictly; generosity now costs marks later
  • Note disputed points and have a specialist arbitrate
  • Get current papers and schemes through the school, not from a shared drive

A parent does not need subject knowledge to be useful here. Mark schemes are written for markers, and they are more readable than they look: each acceptable point is listed, with alternatives in brackets, and the mark allocation sits beside it.

The practical method is to have your child complete a question under timing, then sit with the scheme and ask them to award their own marks aloud, point by point. Two things happen. The student discovers that a vaguely correct sentence does not earn a listed point, which is the whole lesson about precision. And you discover whether the problem is knowledge, wording or time - which decides what kind of help to buy.

Resist the temptation to be generous, which is strong and understandable. A mark awarded for effort now is a mark not earned in June. If you cannot tell whether a point is close enough, note the question and ask a specialist to arbitrate; that is exactly the kind of thing a single diagnostic session resolves quickly.

One constraint to respect: syllabus documents, past papers and mark schemes belong to Cambridge, Pearson and the IB. Your child's school is the proper route to the current versions, and we cite the official sources rather than distributing copies. A tutoring service offering a shared drive of 'exclusive' board material is handing out somebody else's copyright, and where the material is unreleased it creates a malpractice question attached to your child rather than to the seller.

05

The habit that pays in both systems: write the method

If a single behaviour change were available across the IB and the British track, it would be this one: write the method out, every time, in full sentences or in labelled working, whether or not the answer seems obvious.

On a British-track paper, structured questions carry method marks. A candidate who writes a bare answer to a four-mark question is competing for one mark. In IB mathematics, method must be written and justified rather than implied, which is the biggest adjustment for students arriving from a strong IGCSE background where speed was rewarded. In an IB science investigation, method is a criterion in its own right.

The reason students resist is that writing method feels slower, and in the short term it is. In practice it saves time in exactly the situations where time is lost: a long multi-step problem where an arithmetic slip early on would otherwise force a complete restart. With method written, the error is visible and the remaining marks are intact. Without it, the student starts again and the clock wins.

This is also the clearest example of why course experience matters more than subject knowledge. A professional engineer can solve the physics; a teacher who has marked the papers knows that the mark is for the line of working the engineer skipped. Those are different kinds of expertise, and only one of them raises a grade.

A parent can enforce this habit without knowing the subject. Look at a page of your child's working and ask whether a stranger could follow the reasoning from the first line to the answer. If the page is mostly numbers with no visible steps, the marks are being left on the table, whatever the final answer says.

06

Why the specialist is rarely the nearest person

Everything above describes a narrow kind of expertise: a specific course, its paper structure, its criteria and its mark scheme. The population holding that expertise for any one course is small and distributed by where those people happen to live, not by where demand appears.

For Diploma subjects the arithmetic is stark in this emirate. Sharjah has a limited number of schools authorised for the programme, so the number of adults here who have supervised a particular DP internal assessment through a full cycle is low. The subset willing to drive to a central-western district on a weekday evening is lower still. Requiring both proximity and criterion-level experience usually means getting neither.

The money points the same way. Across published UAE rate cards, a qualified subject tutor teaching online runs roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, while an in-home visit is quoted between AED 180 and 500 once travel is absorbed, and named or examiner-branded tutoring reaches AED 500 to 650 and above. The in-home premium pays for a journey; it does not buy knowledge of a criterion descriptor, and examiner status is seldom evidenced and never transfers to your child's paper.

So we match on the course and deliver one-to-one over live video, scheduled in Gulf Standard Time. IB Gram does not run home visits anywhere in the UAE - that service exists only in India - and the free trial lesson is how a family establishes whether the format suits their child before committing to anything.

07

What a tutor must not do, however the deadline looks

A page this focused on criteria and mark schemes should be equally precise about limits, because the pressure to cross them arrives late and dressed as practicality.

A tutor may read criteria with a student, question a research question until the available data can answer it, teach a statistical or practical technique, review a draft and explain which criterion it fails, model the same analytical move on different material, mark papers against the published scheme, and drill command terms. That is a wide and genuinely useful remit.

A tutor may not write, draft, rewrite or edit any part of assessed work, nor supply a topic with the analysis already done. IB Gram does not sell completed internal assessments, extended essays, Theory of Knowledge essays or coursework. Services that do appear in these search results at prices in the thousands of dirhams, and the malpractice finding attaches to the student's diploma rather than to the seller's accounts. No deadline alters that arithmetic.

Two further limits. No tutor can know what a particular candidate will score, so there are no grade guarantees here and no promised improvements. And we claim no approval, licence or accreditation from any education authority or board: IB Gram is a tutor-matching platform with no premises in this country. Private schools in Sharjah are regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority, which approves tuition fees, curricula, programmes, courses and assessment methods - a body we can describe and would never claim to be endorsed by.

Where we tutor

Where course specialists are and are not, around Al Ramtha

Nearby districts read for one question only: how likely is it that somebody who has taught your child's exact course is within a short drive?

Abu Shagara

Adjacent, with a heavy Indian-curriculum school presence. Reasonable supply of generalists; board-specific experience is the thing to ask about rather than assume.

Al Nud

A near neighbour sharing the same tutoring pool. Short journeys, same quality distribution, so the choice between the two addresses changes very little.

Al Qasimia

Dense and well supplied, including tuition centres. Group classes are available here, which suits shared content weakness and not criterion-level or script-level work.

Al Majaz

The deepest local pool in the emirate, including a few genuine subject specialists - and the first district to be fully booked before a series.

Muwaileh

A separate cluster to the east with its own supply. Reasonable for IGCSE subjects, very thin for specific Diploma courses at a weekday hour.

University City

Where most budget supply originates. Capable undergraduates, and almost nobody who has supervised an IB internal assessment through a full cycle.

Al Khan

Short journeys and overlapping supply with central Sharjah. A timing advantage for earlier sessions rather than a difference in who is available.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the course, level and a script

The exact course - higher or standard level, or a syllabus code and tier - plus a recent marked paper, test or draft. That combination is what lets a specialist produce a topic-level diagnosis instead of a general impression.

  2. 02

We mark or read it first

The matched tutor marks the script against the published scheme, or reads the draft against the criteria, before you meet. The free trial lesson then opens with what the work shows rather than with introductions.

  3. 03

Target the topics and criteria named

Sessions work from your child's own syllabus document and that board's past papers, with an error log by question type or criterion. Practice matches the real paper structure rather than a generic worksheet bank.

  4. 04

Review at six sessions on marks

We look at timed scores and criterion feedback, not attendance. A wrong match is replaced and the plan carries across. When a topic-level block has done its job, we say so rather than extending it.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Diagnosis at topic level

A marked script read before the first lesson produces a list of specific topics and question types rather than a verdict about effort. That list is the difference between hours that move marks and hours that feel productive.

Criteria read at the start

For IB assessed work we read the published descriptors with the student in the first session, because students who meet the criteria only after a draft comes back have written in the wrong direction for weeks. The tutor never writes any part of the submission.

Mark schemes, not impressions

Papers are marked to the board's own scheme and errors are logged by question type. Generous marking produces confidence rather than preparation, and we would rather deliver an uncomfortable mark in March than a surprise in the series.

Official sources only

Syllabus documents, past papers and mark schemes belong to the boards. We cite them and point families to the school for current versions rather than distributing copies, which is a copyright and malpractice issue as well as an accuracy one.

Matched nationally, delivered online

Course specialists are scarce and scattered, particularly for Diploma subjects in this emirate. Teaching one-to-one over live video is how an Al Ramtha family reaches one. IB Gram runs no UAE home visits; that service exists only in India.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Ramtha: your questions answered

What does a subject specialist know that a good general tutor does not?+

Where the marks are. A specialist can say that chemistry candidates lose marks taking a mole ratio from the wrong species, that physics candidates read gradients instead of calculating them, and that an IB evaluation criterion fails when limitations are listed without being weighed. A general tutor teaches the content competently and leaves those habits in place. You can test this in one conversation: ask for the three topics where candidates lose the most marks and listen for a list rather than a reassurance.

How do I find out which criteria my child's internal assessment is marked against?+

From the subject guide and the task sheet the school issues for your child's cohort. In IB sciences the criteria cover research design, data analysis, the conclusion and the evaluation; in mathematics the exploration is assessed on presentation, mathematical communication, personal engagement, reflection and use of mathematics. Descriptors and any mark allocations change between syllabus cycles, so the school's current documents are the authoritative version - not a tutoring page, including this one.

Why does my child lose marks when their science answers look correct?+

Usually precision or method. A question asking what you would observe wants the observable change - 'a white precipitate forms' - not the conclusion drawn from it. Equations want state symbols, organic reactions want conditions, and multi-step calculations want working because the method carries marks. None of that is difficult science; all of it is a writing habit that changes within a few sessions once somebody marks strictly against the real scheme rather than generously.

What is the alternative-to-practical paper really testing?+

Practical skill expressed in writing: identifying variables, describing a method precisely, naming instruments, spotting sources of error and suggesting improvements. Candidates who have done plenty of laboratory work still lose marks here because they have never had to narrate a method, and answers about measuring carefully earn nothing where the scheme wants a named instrument, a repeat and a control. It is among the most coachable components in either system - three or four focused sessions usually show up in the next mock.

How should a parent use a mark scheme at home?+

Have your child complete a question under timing, then sit with the scheme and ask them to award their own marks aloud, point by point. They discover that a vaguely correct sentence does not earn a listed point, and you discover whether the problem is knowledge, wording or time. Mark strictly: generosity now costs marks in the series. Where you cannot judge whether a point is close enough, note it and have a specialist arbitrate - that is a good use of a single diagnostic session.

Why is 'show your method' such a big deal in both systems?+

Because marks are allocated to it. British-track structured questions carry method marks, so a bare answer to a four-mark question competes for one. In IB mathematics, method must be written and justified rather than implied - the biggest adjustment for students arriving from a strong IGCSE background. In an IB science investigation, method is assessed in its own right. Writing it also protects a student when an early arithmetic slip would otherwise force a complete restart under time pressure.

What are the word limits for the extended essay and other components?+

Each has one, and we deliberately do not publish figures here: limits and guidance change between syllabus cycles, so the only reliable source is the current subject guide and task sheet your school issues for your child's cohort. Ask for both. What is generally true is that exceeding a limit costs the student the sections an examiner stops reading and undermines criteria that reward selection, while under-length work usually means a criterion has not been addressed at all.

How many marks does a four-mark 'explain' question actually want?+

Four linked statements, not one statement written four ways. Reading the mark allocation before writing is one of the cheapest habits available: it tells a student how many distinct points to make, and it prevents the common pattern of one good idea expanded into a paragraph while three available marks go unclaimed. For calculate questions, assume a method mark and an answer mark unless the scheme shows otherwise, which means a bare numerical answer typically forfeits half the question.

Can one tutor cover my child's IB science and IGCSE science?+

Sometimes, if they have genuinely taught both. The courses fail differently: an IB investigation is marked against criteria by letter, while a Cambridge candidate faces an alternative-to-practical paper and a tiered written structure. A tutor fluent in one may never have read a criterion descriptor or taught the practical paper's technique. Ask what each has taught and how recently, and where the honest answer is only one of the two, two specialists in consecutive slots give better teaching for a similar total.

My child picks a huge topic for every project. Is that fixable?+

Yes, and it is the highest-value hour in the whole assessed-work process. Over-broad questions are the commonest cause of weak explorations and investigations: a question that cannot be answered with the data available produces narration instead of analysis, and no amount of later writing rescues it. A tutor's legitimate job here is to question the research question until it is answerable, and to do that at the proposal stage rather than after a draft has absorbed three weeks.

Where should past papers come from?+

Your child's school, which has access to the current versions and knows which syllabus cycle applies. Papers, mark schemes and syllabus documents belong to Cambridge, Pearson and the IB; we cite the official sources and point families to the school rather than distributing copies. Be cautious of any tutoring service offering a shared drive full of board material - that is somebody else's copyright, and where material is unreleased it creates a malpractice question attached to your child rather than to the seller.

Is a tutor allowed to rewrite a paragraph of my child's assessed work?+

No. A tutor may explain which criterion a paragraph fails, ask what the data actually supports, teach a technique the work requires, and model the same analytical move on entirely different material. Writing, redrafting or editing the submitted text is not permitted, and IB Gram does not sell completed assessments of any kind. The consequence of crossing that line is a malpractice finding against the student's diploma, so the boundary holds regardless of how close a deadline is.

How quickly do topic-level fixes show up in a mark?+

Technique changes - command terms, precision of language, method written out, mark allocation read before answering - usually appear in the next timed assessment, often three to six weeks away. Topic repairs take a little longer because they need teaching and then practice. What we will not do is quote a grade or a timeline for one: nobody can know what a particular candidate will score. The honest measure is movement on comparable timed work, reviewed at session six.

What if no specialist in our exact course is free when we need one?+

We say so and offer alternatives: a different hour with the right person, or a named date when one frees up. Narrow combinations - a higher level language, Additional Mathematics, a specific board's business paper at a peak evening hour - sometimes have nobody available, particularly in the weeks before a series. We will not substitute a generalist into course-specific work, because for criterion-level and paper-technique teaching that substitution is the entire problem this page describes.

Send the course and the script

Distance told you who was nearby. A marked script tells you what is actually costing marks, and the course tells us who can fix it. Send the exact course - higher or standard level, or the syllabus code and tier - with a recent paper, test or draft, and we will mark or read it against the published scheme or criteria before you meet anybody. The trial lesson is free, one-to-one over live video, and the annotated work is yours either way. Teaching for Al Ramtha families is online and scheduled in Gulf Standard Time.
