IB IGCSE Tutor near me in Fujairah City

Searching IB IGCSE tutor near me in Fujairah City produces a handful of options that look similar and work completely differently: an agency, a marketplace, a freelancer, a tuition centre, the school's own support, or an online platform. This page compares those six models on price, permit status and what happens when the subject your child needs is not covered. IB Gram teaches Fujairah City students one-to-one over live video.

IB & IGCSE in Fujairah City

Six things that all call themselves a tutor near you

A parent in Fujairah City searching for help does not have one decision to make. They have two, and the second one is usually invisible. The first is which subject and which component needs work. The second is which kind of supplier to buy it from, and the options behave so differently that comparing their hourly rates alone is close to meaningless.

There are six models in this market. An agency takes a brief, assigns a tutor from its own bench and manages the relationship. A marketplace lists individuals and lets you pick, with the price set by the tutor. A freelancer is a single person, often a serving teacher, found by word of mouth in a city this size. A tuition centre runs small groups on its own premises under its own licence. The school's own support means a department running catch-up or a teacher giving extra time. An online platform matches a tutor remotely and delivers over video. All six exist on the east coast in some form, and they fail in different places.

The differences that matter are not the ones in the marketing. They are: how large the pool of available tutors actually is once you specify a board and a paper, whether a replacement is offered when a match goes wrong, whether the individual holds the MoHRE private tuition work permit, what happens when nobody covers the subject you need, and how much of the fee is paying for travel rather than teaching. This page compares the six on exactly those points. Those five questions take about ten minutes to ask and they are the whole of due diligence in a market where every provider sounds the same on its own website.

The honest headline for Fujairah City is that market size, not model, drives most of the outcome. The emirate's private schools are few and their year groups are small, so the local pool behind an agency, a marketplace or a freelance recommendation is largely the same set of people. The model that changes the pool is the one that removes distance from the equation, because then the pool stops being the east coast and becomes everyone who teaches that component at that hour on Gulf Standard Time.

IB Gram is the online model, and the disclosure that belongs at the top rather than in a footnote is this: there are no home visits anywhere in the UAE. That service exists only in India. Fujairah City students are taught one-to-one over live video, matched to the IB component or the IGCSE syllabus code rather than to a street. Everything below, including the AED figures and the availability table, is written so that you could use it to buy from somebody else if that suits your family better.

At a glance

  • Agency, marketplace, freelancer, tuition centre, school support and online platform all behave differently
  • In a small market all the local models draw on broadly the same teaching pool
  • Any individual giving private lessons needs a MoHRE private tuition work permit
  • A tuition centre with premises needs a separate educational services permit from the emirate authority
  • Fujairah's private schools are supervised by the federal Ministry of Education
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

This page covers both routes, because Fujairah City households frequently contain one of each. The two are measured by different instruments, and a tutor should know which one applies before the first session.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects across three Higher and three Standard Levels, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service. Internal assessment is marked against lettered criteria and externally moderated; written papers carry fixed weightings that differ by level. UAE schools sit the May session.

There is no Diploma provision in Fujairah itself, so an east-coast family on this route is either enrolled outside the emirate or boarding weekly. That makes external support unusually important, because the student is often working to internal deadlines without a subject specialist nearby to interrogate a draft.

IGCSEAges 14-16 · Years 10-11

International GCSE, Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel

Externally examined at the end of two years. Cambridge subjects carry four-digit codes and several are tiered Core or Extended, which caps or raises the grade available. Pearson Edexcel codes look like 4MA1 or 4CH1 and the board differs on tiering and formula provision.

This is the dominant route in Fujairah City, taught across the emirate's British and Indian curriculum campuses. Narrow option blocks mean students sometimes take a subject because it fits the timetable, which is a specific reason to check the tier and the board early rather than assuming both were chosen.

MOEAll year groups

Mandatory UAE subjects running in parallel

Private schools in the UAE are not obliged to follow a specific curriculum beyond Arabic language, social studies and Islamic studies, but must adhere to the Ministry's general regulations. These subjects are assessed on the school's internal calendar, separate from any board timetable.

In Fujairah these subjects sit under the federal Ministry of Education framework. The practical effect on an east-coast revision plan is collision: Arabic assessments regularly fall in the same fortnight as IGCSE mocks or Diploma internal deadlines, and the clash is best mapped in September rather than discovered in January.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

IB Diploma subjects as Fujairah City families ask about them, described by where the marks sit. Confirm current weightings and criteria through your child's subject teacher.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Proof and calculus carry the Higher Level load. The exploration loses most marks in reflection, where students describe their process instead of evaluating what the mathematics showed.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Statistics and modelling, with calculator technique examinable in itself. Modelling questions want assumptions stated explicitly, which candidates routinely leave implicit and lose marks for.

Physics

HL and SL

Definitions are marked literally: omit per unit mass or charge and the mark goes, however sound the understanding. Uncertainty handling in the data questions is weaker than the content knowledge around it.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Energetics, equilibrium and organic mechanisms separate Higher from Standard. Mechanism marks need curly arrows originating from a lone pair or a bond, and significant figures carried consistently.

Biology

HL and SL

Volume is the difficulty. Extended responses want a named mechanism in sequence, and examiners do not credit paraphrase of defined terms. Statistical reasoning on data is the common weak point.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagrams marked on labelled axes, labelled curves and the new equilibrium. Higher Level adds quantitative questions that essay-only revision does not prepare a candidate for.

Business Management

HL and SL

Application to the stimulus divides the grades. Answers drawn from the textbook rather than the case lose application and analysis marks even when the theory is correct.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Quotation followed by effect on the reader, sustained as an argument. Higher Level adds the essay component, where a controlling thesis matters more than coverage.

Theory of Knowledge

Core

Assessed on an exhibition and a prescribed-title essay. Marks are lost writing about the topic rather than about knowledge, its methods and its limits.

Extended Essay

Core

A 4,000-word independent research essay with formal supervision and a reflection requirement. Weak essays usually fail on research-question scope rather than on writing quality.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

The IGCSE half of the same market, by code, because paper structure follows the code rather than the subject name.

Mathematics 0580 / 4MA1

Core and Extended / Foundation and Higher

Functions, graph transformations and conditional probability take the Extended marks. Unshown working is the largest avoidable loss, since method marks sit on nearly every question.

Physics 0625 / 4PH1

Core and Extended / single tier

Potential dividers and the difference between potential difference and current are the reliable failure points. The alternative-to-practical paper wants a method with a named control variable.

Chemistry 0620 / 4CH1

Core and Extended / single tier

Moles calculations and qualitative-analysis tables dominate the lost marks. Half-equations must balance charge, and reaction conditions are asked for more often than names.

Biology 0610 / 4BI1

Core and Extended / single tier

Defined vocabulary used precisely, mechanisms in sequence for six-mark questions, and graph answers that quantify the trend from the axes rather than describing its shape.

Business Studies 0450 / 4BS1

Single tier

Break-even and cash flow answered in the abstract instead of with the figures in the stimulus. Evaluation marks need a judgement with a stated condition.

Economics 0455 / 4EC1

Single tier

Data-response answers must use the extract's own figures. Imported textbook examples lose the application marks regardless of how accurate they are.

Computer Science 0478

Single tier

The board's pseudocode conventions are examinable, so fluent coders still lose marks. Trace tables and the validation-versus-verification distinction are the dependable earners.

Additional Mathematics 0606

Single tier

Calculus, logarithms and the binomial theorem well beyond 0580. Local teaching capacity on the east coast is effectively nil, which is why it leads the availability table below.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Within the online model there are three ways to run the work. All three are one-to-one over live video, because a paper is best worked with the paper on screen between tutor and student.

Weekly one-to-one through the year

A fixed slot with the same tutor on Gulf Standard Time, working from your child's own book and marked work. The diagnosis carries forward week to week, which is what distinguishes a programme from a series of unconnected hours, and it is the format most Fujairah City families settle into.

  • Same tutor, same slot, cumulative diagnosis
  • Start time set by your child's day, not by traffic
  • Pause and resume around mock weeks

Component repair blocks

A short run of sessions against one named loss: circuit questions in 0625, reflection in a Mathematics exploration, data application in 0455. The block ends when marked past-paper questions show the loss has closed, rather than when a fixed number of hours has been used up.

  • One component, not a whole subject
  • Judged on marked questions, not on how the hour felt
  • Typically short where the loss is habit rather than content

Pre-series intensive

Two or three sessions a week in the final weeks before the series, spent almost entirely on whole papers under timed conditions, marked against the official scheme with the self-marking challenged. Suited to a student who knows the content and loses marks in the writing of it.

  • Whole papers in the correct duration
  • Official mark schemes, not answer keys
  • Lost questions re-sat cold a few days later

Six ways to buy tutoring on the east coast, compared

Every competitor page in this market compares itself to an unnamed set of other platforms. Here instead is a comparison of models, which is the thing a parent is actually choosing between, with no brand named in the rows.

Read the fallback column first. It is the one nobody publishes and it decides what happens in the situation that actually arises: your child needs Additional Mathematics 0606 or a Pearson science paper, and the model you have chosen has nobody who teaches it. An agency with a local bench will offer the nearest available person. A marketplace will show you an empty search result. A freelance recommendation will become a polite no. A tuition centre will suggest a group that covers something adjacent. None of those is dishonest, but only one of them gets your child taught.

The permit column matters too, and it is easy to check. Any individual giving private lessons in the UAE needs the MoHRE private tutor work permit introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023. It is granted free of charge for two years, so there is no cost reason for a tutor not to hold one. An organisation running premises is different: in Dubai that needs a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, which involves initial approval first and annual renewal at least thirty days before expiry. A centre and an individual are not the same legal animal and should not be assessed as if they were.

What the table does not show is quality, because model does not determine it. A serving teacher found by word of mouth in Fujairah City may be the best teacher your child ever has. The table shows structural risk: how deep the bench is, what happens when it is empty, and who is accountable when the match fails.

IB Diploma or IGCSE: which instrument is measuring your child

Households on this coast often contain one of each, and the two are assessed so differently that a single tutoring approach cannot serve both. Knowing which instrument applies decides where the hours go.

The Diploma puts a meaningful share of the grade inside work the student produces over months, marked against lettered criteria whose descriptors are published in advance. That makes it the most controllable part of the course and the part most often left until it is too late to control. It also carries a core, with Theory of Knowledge and a 4,000-word Extended Essay, assessed on submitted work with no paper to revise for. Written papers have fixed weightings that differ between Higher and Standard Level, and Higher Level is not Standard plus an extra paper; the added depth changes what the shared papers may ask.

IGCSE puts nearly everything in externally examined papers at the end. There is no slow-burn component to manage, which removes one kind of stress and adds another: a bad fortnight in June cannot be offset by good coursework. The decisive structural feature is tiering. A Cambridge Core entry caps the grade available and an Extended entry raises both the ceiling and the difficulty. In a small market that decision is sometimes taken for timetabling reasons, which is a good reason to ask the school to revisit it rather than treating it as settled.

For a tutor the practical difference is what the first session looks like. With a Diploma student it opens a draft and a criterion descriptor. With an IGCSE student it opens a marked paper and a mark scheme. Both are specific work. Neither is a general review of the subject.

What each model costs in AED, with the source for every figure

Three of the six pages ranking for these searches publish no price at all, and the two that do quote in US dollars. These are AED figures from named published sources, so they can be checked rather than believed.

The structural point is that the model determines the band more than the qualification does. Marketplaces and budget platforms occupy the lowest band, AED 45 to 150 an hour, where EdFlik advertises from AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya from AED 33 to 52. Agencies and established online providers sit in the middle, roughly AED 150 to 300, with Unitors publishing IGCSE from AED 150 and IB from AED 200. In-home delivery, whoever sells it, runs AED 180 to 500, because the car journey is inside the price: Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table gives AED 180 to 350 and independent home tutors reach AED 500.

Above that sit specialist and premium tiers, AED 200 to 450 and above for exam-year specialists, with TutorChase listing AED 270, and AED 500 to 650 and above at the top, where BartyED quotes AED 650. Monthly, Bestimate's estimates for a weekly one-hour session run AED 240 to 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to 1,200 mid-market and AED 1,000 to 2,000 and above for specialist exam-year support. Packages advertised in this market include AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to 1,799 a month for four two-hour in-home sessions.

Two warnings about reading any of this. A figure quoted without a date is worthless, because this market moves and one competitor's comparison panel is nearly two years stale. And a rate band tells you nothing about whether the person inside it has taught your child's paper, which is the variable that actually decides the outcome. IB Gram's own rate is confirmed in the conversation after the free trial lesson, with session length and format stated before anything is agreed.

Availability on this coast, and the fallback nobody discloses

No competitor page in this market discloses a coverage limit. Several conceal non-local delivery behind a phone number from another country. The table below does the opposite: it names where availability on the east coast is genuinely thin and what the fallback is.

The pattern is predictable once you understand the supply. Core IGCSE subjects taught in every school on the coast have the deepest cover, because the people who teach them are numerous. Subjects taken by small numbers of strong candidates have almost none, because the teaching population is tiny everywhere and vanishing on a coastline with this few schools. Diploma subjects sit in between, with the complication that there is no Diploma provision inside Fujairah at all, so there is no local teaching population to draw on in the first place.

The fallback that matters is honesty about timing. If a specialist for a scarce paper is not free this week, the useful answer is a date or a no, not a substitute who will be learning the syllabus alongside your child. That is how a family loses a term they cannot recover, and it happens most often in exactly the subjects where the parent is already anxious and least able to judge the match.

Where a subject is covered, the match is made on the component rather than the label: the Cambridge or Pearson code for IGCSE, the paper or criterion for a Diploma subject. Where it is not covered, you get told. The table is deliberately specific enough to be checkable against what we actually offer you when you ask.

Ramadan, the UAE calendar and when revision actually happens

  • Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier each year against the Gregorian calendar
  • Post-Iftar sessions are a normal scheduling request, not an exception
  • Shortened school days change what an afternoon slot can achieve
  • Arabic and Islamic Education assessments follow the school calendar, not the board's
  • Map board, school and Ramadan dates on one sheet in September

Revision plans built on a European academic year fail in the UAE, and nowhere more predictably than in the weeks before a May or June series.

Two things interact. The UAE school year has its own shape, with the long break in summer and term dates that do not match the northern European pattern, and Ramadan moves roughly eleven days earlier each year against the Gregorian calendar, so its position relative to the exam season shifts from one year to the next. When Ramadan falls close to the final revision window, school days shorten, energy in the late afternoon drops, and the useful study hours move to after Iftar. A plan that assumed a 5pm session four times a week simply stops happening.

The workable response is to schedule against the family's actual day rather than against a template. Sessions after Iftar work well for older students and are a normal request rather than an imposition. Where a student fasts and has a morning exam, the revision pattern needs to protect mornings, which means moving the heavy cognitive work earlier in the plan rather than cramming it into the last fortnight. Because lessons are delivered over live video, a slot can move to 9pm without anyone driving anywhere, which is a practical advantage of the model rather than a marketing one.

The other calendar to put on the same sheet is the school's internal one. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies are assessed on the school's own schedule, and those assessments land alongside mocks and Diploma internal deadlines with some regularity. Mapping board dates, school internal dates and Ramadan onto one page in September is twenty minutes of work that prevents the collision every east-coast family describes after it has happened.

06

Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies alongside the main course

No competitor page in any of the researched clusters has a section on this, and every UAE family lives with it. Private schools are not obliged to follow a specific curriculum beyond Arabic language, social studies and Islamic studies, but must adhere to the Ministry's general regulations, so these subjects run all year beside the IB or IGCSE course.

The most detailed public statement of how they are organised is KHDA's guidance for Dubai schools, and it is specific. Schools must organise separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, and combined classes for both groups are strictly prohibited due to the different curriculum expectations and language of instruction. Standard Arabic is the main language of instruction for Islamic Education for Arabs and for Arabic as a first language; Arabic is the primary language for Social Studies for Arab students; and the school's licensed-curriculum language applies for non-Arabs in Islamic Education and Moral, Social and Cultural studies. Instructional time is calculated on a 40-minute lesson unit, schools may vary lesson length provided the weekly total is met, and it is advised that any mandatory subject lesson runs at least 25 minutes.

One rule constrains tutoring directly: for these subjects the use of any different or additional content without prior permission from the Ministry of Education is strictly prohibited. Support therefore means working within the school's prescribed material rather than importing an alternative syllabus, which is a narrower brief than families expect when they ask for Arabic help. KHDA also requires that all teachers of Islamic Education and Arabic in Dubai schools hold appropriate approval to teach those subjects, which is a fair credential question to ask of anyone, anywhere.

For a Fujairah City family the practical consequence is to treat these as a fixed claim on the week rather than an afterthought. They occupy timetable space, they carry assessments, and they cannot be dropped to make room for IGCSE revision. Planning around them is easier than planning despite them.

07

The one thing the cheap end of this market actually sells

  • Completed coursework for sale is a malpractice risk carried by the student
  • Teaching, modelling and criterion-referenced feedback are the legitimate forms of help
  • Nobody but the student writes, drafts or finishes assessed work
  • Official papers and schemes are referenced and linked, never redistributed

There is a model this page has not listed in the table, because it is not tutoring. It needs naming anyway, because it ranks for these searches and it is the single largest risk to a student on this coast.

At least one provider in this market sells completed Internal Assessments outright. The page is thin, it has no FAQs, and it offers finished assessed work for a fee. Buying that does not save a student time; it puts their entire qualification at risk, because submitting work that is not their own is a malpractice matter for the board and the consequence falls on the student, not on the seller. A parent under deadline pressure in February is exactly the person that offer is designed for.

The legitimate boundary is clear and worth stating positively. A tutor can teach a method, model it on a different question, interrogate whether a research question is answerable, point at a criterion descriptor and ask the student to show where their draft meets it, and explain why a paragraph earned nothing. A tutor cannot write, draft, complete, edit to finish or produce assessed work. IB Gram does not offer that and will not, and a provider that does should be read as telling you how it treats every other rule as well.

There is a materials boundary too. Syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes, grade-boundary tables and subject guides belong to Cambridge, Pearson and the IB. A tutor should reference and link them and work from copies the student legitimately holds through school, not hand out reproduced packs. Any site offering downloadable mark scheme bundles is distributing someone else's property, and for unreleased material that is a more serious problem than copyright alone.

Where we tutor

Where the students on this page live and study

The districts around Fujairah City, described by what each changes about buying tutoring. The schools are shared, so what varies is logistics rather than supply.

Fujairah City

The emirate's private schools and the only real concentration of teaching staff on this coast. A central household can start a session by about 4.15pm. Every local model draws on these same staff rooms.

Sakamkam

Inland residential district feeding the city campuses. A freelance recommendation here will name the same teachers a city recommendation does, because the schools are the same.

Al Faseel

Coastal district on the southern side of the city, close to the corniche. Short school run, so an agency slot at 4.30pm is realistic without the tutor charging for a long drive.

Merashid

Northern edge of the city where the coast road starts. Sessions tend to settle after 5pm once sport and Arabic commitments are counted, which narrows which freelancers are free.

Al Gurfa

Southern coastal settlement with a longer run into the city. The in-home travel premium is at its highest here, which makes the model comparison in this page's first table unusually relevant.

Dibba and the northern coast

Forty-five minutes to an hour from the city. A tuition centre in Fujairah City is impractical as a weekly commitment from here, which removes one of the six models outright.

Khor Fakkan and Dibba Al-Hisn

Sharjah territory on this coastline, so schools there are regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority rather than the federal Ministry of Education. A centre operating there holds a Sharjah permit, not a Fujairah one.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Fujairah City

Fujairah City campuses

British, Indian and bilingual programmes with small year groups, supervised under the federal Ministry of Education, which plays a pivotal role in supervising private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. For the model comparison on this page the relevant point is that these staff rooms are the supply behind every locally sourced tutor, whichever model is selling them.

Where Diploma students from this coast actually study

There is no IB Diploma provision within Fujairah, so Diploma families enrol in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah or further afield, sometimes with weekly boarding. Those schools sit under the Sharjah Private Education Authority or the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge, both of which approve curricula, programmes, courses, activities and assessment methods in their emirates.

  • RAK Academy - International School Al Hamra

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

    Say which instrument applies

IB Diploma or International GCSE, and then the component: a paper, a criterion, or a syllabus code such as 0620 or 4CH1. The statement of entry carries the code and your child's teacher can name the criterion. This is what makes a component match possible instead of a subject-level guess.

  2. 02

Bring marked work to the free trial

The first lesson is free and is used as a diagnosis. For an IGCSE student that means a marked paper; for a Diploma student, a draft and the relevant criterion descriptors. You receive a written summary naming the specific weaknesses and the questions or criteria they showed up in.

  3. 03

    Choose the model deliberately

Read the comparison table on this page and decide what you are buying. If a person in the room is what your child needs, a local in-home tutor may be the right purchase and this page gives you the AED bands to negotiate with. If paper-level expertise is what is missing, the online model is the one with the bench.

  4. 04

Set a slot the family can actually keep

Sessions run on Gulf Standard Time around the real school day, sport, prayer times and, in season, after Iftar. Central Fujairah City households usually manage 4.15pm; Dibba and Al Gurfa families settle later. A slot that survives February is worth more than an ideal slot that collapses in October.

  5. 05

    Hear the availability answer straight

For a scarce paper such as Additional Mathematics 0606 there may be nobody free, and you will be given a date or a no rather than a near-enough substitute. If a match goes wrong, ask for a rematch and the written diagnosis travels to the next tutor so nothing restarts from zero.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The comparison names models, not rivals

Every ranking page in this market compares itself to an unnamed straw man. This one compares agency, marketplace, freelance, centre, school support and online delivery on price, permit and fallback, and you can use it to buy elsewhere.

Coverage limits are published

No competitor in any researched cluster discloses where its cover runs out. The availability table here names the subject groups with effectively no local teaching population and states what the fallback is, including an honest no.

Matched to the component

A Diploma criterion or a Cambridge or Pearson code, not a subject label. Cambridge 0620 and Pearson 4CH1 differ on structure and on what has to be memorised, and the match is made accordingly.

Every AED figure is attributed and dated

The rates here belong to the providers and rate tables named, including competitors. One competitor's own comparison panel is nearly two years stale, which is why the date matters as much as the number.

The calendar is treated as real

Ramadan's position shifts each year, UAE term dates do not match the northern pattern, and Arabic assessments collide with mocks. Scheduling starts from those facts rather than from a template week.

No regulator, board or school is claimed as a backer

The Ministry of Education, SPEA, KHDA, ADEK, Cambridge, Pearson and the IB are explained here because families need to understand them. None of them approves, accredits or endorses IB Gram, and no school named is a partner or client.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Fujairah City: your questions answered

What should I actually compare when looking for an IB IGCSE tutor near me in Fujairah City?+

Compare models before you compare prices. An agency, a marketplace, a freelancer, a tuition centre, school support and an online platform differ on how deep the bench is, whether a replacement is offered when a match fails, whether the individual holds the MoHRE private tuition permit, and what happens when nobody covers your subject. In a market this small, all the local models draw on the same school staff rooms, so the one variable that genuinely changes the pool is whether distance is part of the requirement.

Is an agency better than finding a freelance tutor in Fujairah?+

Neither is better in quality terms, because the model does not determine the teacher. An agency gives you a replacement if the match fails and takes responsibility for the brief; a freelancer found by word of mouth may be an excellent serving teacher at a lower price with no fallback at all. The structural difference shows up on the day the subject is not covered: the agency offers its nearest available person, the freelancer offers a polite no, and you start again.

How do I check that a tutor in Fujairah City is permitted to teach?+

Ask directly. Individuals giving private lessons need the MoHRE private tutor work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years, which covers registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. Since there is no fee, there is no cost reason to be without one. A centre with premises is different and holds an educational services permit from the relevant emirate authority instead.

Can a Fujairah City school teacher tutor their own pupils for a fee?+

Treat it as a question for the school rather than an assumption. ADEK's professional-ethics rules for Abu Dhabi private and charter school staff prohibit teachers from providing paid private tutoring to students enrolled at their own school, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct also bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school. That is press-reported rather than quoted from the policy document, so verify it against current policy. In a small market the conflict arises often enough to be worth raising before money changes hands.

Is the IB Diploma or IGCSE harder to support from the east coast?+

The Diploma, because there is no Diploma provision inside Fujairah, so there is no local teaching population at all to draw on. Those students are enrolled outside the emirate or boarding, and they are often working to internal deadlines with a supervisor who may be allocated outside their subject specialism because the cohort is small. IGCSE at least has local teachers for the core subjects. Both are supported online by component, which is the only route that does not depend on local supply.

What does tutoring cost across the models in AED?+

Marketplaces and budget platforms run AED 45 to 150 an hour, with EdFlik from AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya from AED 33 to 52. Agencies and established online providers sit at AED 150 to 300, Unitors publishing IGCSE from AED 150. Anything delivered in-home runs AED 180 to 500 because the journey is inside the price, per Bestimate's 2026 rate table. Exam-year specialists reach AED 200 to 450 and above, TutorChase listing AED 270, and the premium end is quoted at AED 650.

Which IB session do UAE schools sit?+

The May session is the one UAE schools sit. Results and session dates for the IB are not restated here, because the IB's own site could not be verified by automated check for this project, and publishing an exam date a parent acts on without confirming it would be worse than publishing nothing. Confirm every IB date with your school's Diploma coordinator or on the IB's own assessment pages. For Cambridge and Pearson the dates are sourced and appear elsewhere on this site.

Will a tutor work around Ramadan timings for a Fujairah family?+

Yes, and after-Iftar sessions are a normal request rather than a concession. Ramadan moves roughly eleven days earlier each year against the Gregorian calendar, so its position relative to the exam season changes, and when it falls near a final revision window school days shorten and useful study hours move later. Because lessons run over live video, a slot can move to 9pm without anyone driving anywhere. The better move is still to shift heavy work earlier in the plan rather than compress it.

Do Arabic and Islamic Education lessons affect an IGCSE plan in Fujairah?+

They affect the calendar and the available hours. UAE private schools must cover Arabic language, social studies and Islamic studies alongside the licensed curriculum, assessed on the school's internal schedule rather than the board's, and those assessments regularly land in the same fortnight as mocks. For these subjects the use of different or additional content without prior Ministry permission is prohibited, so any support must work within the school's own material rather than substituting another syllabus.

What happens when nobody on the east coast teaches the subject we need?+

You get a date or a no. Additional Mathematics 0606 has effectively no local teaching population on this coast, Computer Science 0478 is very limited, and no Diploma subject has a local base because the emirate has no Diploma provision. The dishonest resolution is a substitute who learns the syllabus alongside your child, which is how a family loses a term. The honest options are to wait for the right match, start on an adjacent paper where the diagnosis still transfers, or look elsewhere.

Would a Fujairah City tuition centre group class be better value than one-to-one?+

It can be, for a student whose problem is pace and motivation rather than a specific component. Group teaching is cheaper per hour and the social pressure helps some students work. It is the wrong purchase when the loss is specific, because a group cannot stop to examine why one student's half-equation did not balance charge. From Dibba or the northern coast a weekly centre commitment in Fujairah City is also impractical, which removes the option on logistics alone.

Can a tutor write my child's Internal Assessment if we are out of time?+

No, and anyone who offers to should be avoided. At least one provider ranking for these searches sells completed Internal Assessments outright. Submitting work that is not the student's own is a malpractice matter for the board, and the consequence falls on the student rather than the seller. What a tutor legitimately does is teach the method, model it on a different question, interrogate the research question and give criterion-referenced feedback on the student's own draft, which is slower and survives submission.

Does IB Gram have an office or a centre in Fujairah?+

No. There is no IB Gram office, centre or branch anywhere in the UAE, and no tutor visits a UAE address. Tuition for Fujairah City families is delivered one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, with home visits offered only in India. We say that plainly because two of the pages ranking for these searches show a UAE footer address on a page about a different emirate, and one routes UAE parents to a phone number in another country.

How quickly can a Fujairah City family start lessons?+

For a core IGCSE subject with a named code, usually within a few days, because the free trial can be scheduled as soon as a tutor matching the paper has a slot. For a scarce paper it can take longer and you will be told how long rather than offered the first available person. The slower step is usually ours rather than yours: finding the right component match takes time, and rushing it produces the rematch nobody wants in week three.

What makes the first session useful rather than just introductory?+

Bringing something already marked. A paper with examiner or teacher comments on it, or a Diploma draft with the criterion the teacher flagged, turns the hour into a diagnosis instead of a conversation about how things are going. The tutor sorts the lost marks into content, command term, working shown and timing, and tells you which column is largest. That written summary is what the block of sessions is then built against.

Pick the model, then pick the tutor

Near me is a sensible search and an incomplete one. In a market the size of Fujairah City the question that decides the outcome is which kind of supplier you are buying from, and what that supplier does on the day nobody covers your child's paper. The tables above answer both, with the AED figures attributed and the coverage limits named. Take the free trial lesson with something already marked in front of your child, read the written diagnosis, and decide. Lessons run one-to-one over live video, and when we cannot help we say so.
