IB Home Tutor in Al Faseel

Hiring an IB home tutor in Al Faseel means planning further ahead than a family in Dubai has to, because Fujairah's school set is small and a plan that fails in February cannot be replaced locally. This page sets out the decisions that close early, a term-by-term map of the two Diploma years, and what the Hajar mountains genuinely change. IB Gram teaches one-to-one over live video.

  • The decisions that close early, listed with when they close
  • A term-by-term map of both Diploma years, not a sales timeline
  • Lessons run online over live video, so the mountain pass is irrelevant
  • No IB exam or results date published that has not been verified

IB & IGCSE in Al Faseel

Plan early, because here you cannot plan twice

Fujairah is the only emirate on the Gulf of Oman coast, separated from Dubai and Sharjah by the Hajar mountains, and its private-school set is small. Those two facts together produce a particular planning problem: a student sitting a less common Diploma subject may have no local specialist at all, and a family whose arrangement fails in February has nowhere nearby to turn. That is not a reason for anxiety. It is a reason to put the year on paper in September.

Al Faseel sits on the coast at Fujairah city, near the corniche, residential and close to the city's school cluster. The journey is short and the housing is reasonable, so the usual constraints of time and space are mild here. What is genuinely scarce is choice: in a small cohort a particular Higher Level option may be taught by one teacher, and that teacher is frequently the person least able to tutor the students who need them.

So this page is a calendar rather than a pitch, and it is organised around commitment rather than revision. Which decisions close, and when. What each term of the two years has to deliver. Which document the plan is actually built from. What the mountains change and what they do not. And what the options are in the fortnight after results, when the local fallback is thinnest.

Delivery is stated plainly. IB Gram teaches UAE families one-to-one over live video, on Gulf Standard Time. IB Gram does not offer home visits in the UAE; home visits are a service we run only in India. The phrase in this page's address is what parents search, and the honest answer for Al Faseel is that online delivery is not a compromise here but the mechanism that makes a specialist available at all, since no scheduling arrangement makes a subject teacher appear on this side of the mountains.

On dates, this page is restrained. No IB exam or results date appears, because the board's own site returns an error to automated checking and nothing in this project has been verified from the IB itself. What is safe to state is that UAE schools sit the May session and that a November session exists as an alternative route, and that every specific date should come from your school's Diploma coordinator or from ibo.org directly.

Where a figure or a regulatory statement appears it is attributed. Market rates are given with the provider that published them and the month they were read, October 2026. Regulatory statements come from federal sources. Where something could not be verified, this page says so rather than filling the gap with something plausible. That restraint costs a page some apparent authority and it is the right trade on a site this size, because a date or a figure that is wrong is wrong on every page at once.

At a glance

  • Fujairah's private schools are supervised by the federal Ministry of Education, not by KHDA or ADEK.
  • Most Diploma decisions close in Grade 11: levels, coursework topics and the work behind predicted grades.
  • A tutoring arrangement that fails mid-year has no local replacement in this emirate.
  • UAE schools sit the May session; no IB date here is verified, so none is published.
  • The school's own internal deadline calendar is the document a plan should be built from.
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Three IB stages reach Al Faseel households, and the commitment problem is sharpest at the last of them because that is where the decisions are irreversible.

PYPAges 3-12 · Pre-KG to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

No external papers and no deadlines, which makes the calendar forgiving. The work that pays off later is mechanics: number bonds, written method, reading stamina, explaining an answer in a sentence. Nothing here is urgent and all of it is expensive to repair at Diploma level.

Al Faseel's short journeys make a 4:00pm primary session easy to sustain. In a small emirate an external check once a year is more informative than a class position, because the cohort a child is being compared with is very small.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

Four criteria per subject, each marked out of 8, assessed through tasks spread across the year rather than an examination window. The calendar is real and invisible, because MYP assessment arrives as projects rather than as exams, and a strand left unaddressed costs marks every time it recurs.

MYP Year 11 is when Fujairah families most often start looking, because the Diploma decision and the first serious internal assessments arrive in the same term. Starting one term earlier makes that decision informed rather than reactive.

DPAges 16-19 · Grades 11-12

Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, each subject carrying an internally assessed component on a school-set deadline. The deadlines cluster in one autumn and the papers sit in the spring, which makes the whole thing a sequencing exercise rather than a revision one.

Fujairah's Diploma presence is small, so a student here may be the only person in the emirate taking a particular Higher Level option. The school's own deadline calendar is the only calendar they will be handed, and getting a copy in September is the highest-value administrative act of the year.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

The Diploma subjects most often requested from Fujairah, each with the calendar pressure point named alongside the content one.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Non-calculator technique is the usual gap. The calendar pressure is the exploration, which needs a topic with genuine mathematics in it chosen a term before it is written rather than a fortnight.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Modelling and statistics led. Higher Level adds graph theory and matrices, usually taught late in the final year, so a student already behind meets new content and revision simultaneously.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Energetics, equilibrium and organic mechanisms carry the losses. The internal assessment needs a method settled early enough to collect usable data, which is the deadline most often missed in this subject.

Physics

HL and SL

Unit discipline, gradients and explanation questions. Technique responds quickly to timed practice, which makes a short block effective even late. Among the scarcest subjects locally at Higher Level.

Biology

HL and SL

Naming a process earns a mark and ordering its stages earns the rest. Statistics questions catch students who have never calculated a standard deviation by hand, which is a single-session repair.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagram discipline plus commentaries that need genuinely recent articles collected as they appear. Very scarce locally, which makes early booking a necessity rather than a preference.

Business Management

HL and SL

Application to the case stimulus is the whole paper. Higher Level adds the pre-released case study, published far enough ahead that early structured reading is unusually valuable.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Paper 1 rewards argument about how a text works. The Individual Oral needs a global issue chosen early and two extracts that genuinely support it, which is a term's decision.

Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay

Core

Both are narrowing problems before they are writing problems, and both have no timetabled lesson. The decision that caps each one is taken long before the drafting starts.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three formats, each chosen for how it behaves when there is no local fallback. All run online, one-to-one, over live video, which is what makes a scarce subject available here at all.

A termly reserved slot with a named tutor

One subject, one tutor, the same hour every week across a term, agreed in advance. In an emirate with no local replacement pool, continuity with a named person is worth more than any price difference, because the alternative to continuity here is not a cheaper tutor but none.

  • 60 or 90 minutes, fixed weekly on Gulf Standard Time
  • A named tutor across the term, so context is never rebuilt
  • Written notes after each session naming the next target
  • Booked a term ahead, because capacity tightens towards a series

A block reserved against a dated event

A short intensive aimed at one thing: the Grade 12 coursework cluster, the mock window, or the final weeks before the papers. Because there is no local fallback, the block is placed on the calendar in September rather than requested when it becomes urgent.

  • Two or three sessions a week across four to eight weeks
  • Reserved in advance against the school's deadline calendar
  • Timed questions marked to the published scheme where papers are the target
  • Ends on a stated date rather than drifting

Core-component coaching

For the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge or an internal assessment: narrowing a question, testing viability, reviewing a method, reading criterion descriptors, and written feedback on drafts the student has written. These components have no timetabled lesson, which is exactly why they need a booked one.

  • Question narrowed before any writing begins
  • Criterion-by-criterion feedback on the student's own draft
  • Word count and citation discipline checked against the subject guide
  • Nothing produced on the student's behalf, at any stage

01

The commitment calendar: decisions that close

Most tutoring advice is about revision, which is the part of a Diploma a family can always change. The part they cannot change is the sequence of decisions, and in a small emirate the cost of making one badly is higher because there is less room to correct it afterwards.

Listing them out is unglamorous and unusually useful. Subject and level choices close at the start of the first year, with a brief window for adjustment. The coursework topic and the method close when data collection or drafting begins. The Extended Essay research question closes in practice once several thousand words exist. Predicted grades close when the school issues them in the autumn of the final year, and they reflect work already completed. Entry decisions for a session close months before the papers. And the choice of tutor closes, in effect, when the term starts, because mid-year replacement in Fujairah means starting again rather than switching.

Reading that list the other way round gives a Fujairah family its plan. Everything with a late closing date can be left. Everything with an early one has to be dealt with in Grade 11, when nothing else is competing for attention and when specialist capacity is easiest to reserve. That is also the cheapest period in the whole course, which makes the sequencing argument and the budget argument point the same way.

The table lists the decisions with when each closes and what each one fixes. Dates are deliberately expressed as positions in the course rather than as calendar dates, because no IB date in this project has been verified and because school calendars differ.

What the Hajar mountains actually change

  • They make in-person arrangements from outside the emirate impractical.
  • They narrow access to group and weekend provision available in Dubai.
  • They change nothing about the papers, criteria, deadlines or standards.
  • They are irrelevant to a format that moves no bodies.

It is worth being precise about this rather than gesturing at remoteness, because the mountains change some things decisively and others not at all, and families here are frequently told that everything is harder when only a few things are.

What they change: the practicality of any in-person arrangement that originates outside the emirate. A tutor in Sharjah or Dubai is not making a weekday evening journey through the pass to Al Faseel, which means the realistic in-home pool is whoever already lives in Fujairah. They also change access to the sort of weekend enrichment and group provision that is abundant in Dubai, and they lengthen the school run for the small number of families who cross the pass for a particular school.

What they do not change: anything about the examination. The papers, the criteria, the command terms, the internal deadlines, the series and the standards are identical for a student in Al Faseel and a student in Jumeirah. Nor do they change the market rates a family should judge a quote against: a qualified subject tutor working online is published at AED 150 to 300 an hour and in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to 500, read October 2026, and those bands apply nationally rather than by emirate.

And critically, they do not change who can teach a student over live video. That is the whole point: the mountains are a constraint on bodies rather than on teaching, and a format that moves no bodies is unaffected by them. A student in Al Faseel has exactly the same access to a Higher Level Chemistry specialist as a student in Dubai, which is not true of any in-person arrangement at any price.

03

A term-by-term map of the two years

This is the document the search was really after: not a tutor but a plan, written once in September, costing nothing, and the difference between a household that places its effort and one that reacts to each report.

The first Diploma year has two jobs and both are cheap. The autumn establishes whether the three Higher Levels chosen are the right three and builds content while nothing else competes for attention. The spring settles coursework topics and research questions that will actually work, which is the single highest-leverage decision in the course, and it produces a first full past paper attempted under time so that a classified error log exists.

The second year inverts the pattern. The autumn belongs to coursework: internal assessments across six subjects, the Extended Essay, the Theory of Knowledge essay, and university applications, all in the same eight weeks. Nothing else should be attempted in that window, and any paper technique bought then produces two half-done jobs. The spring belongs to timed practice marked against published schemes, with nothing new taught.

The summer between the years is the one block nobody has already claimed, and it is where a named content gap from the spring should be closed in three or four weeks. The table sets out the map. Adapt it to your own school's calendar rather than to this page, because the value is in having one document in September rather than in matching somebody else's.

04

The school's calendar is the only calendar you will get

  • Request three documents in September: internal assessment calendar, Extended Essay schedule, TOK dates.
  • Place every tuition block before a deadline cluster, never on top of one.
  • In a small cohort there is no second source to triangulate against.
  • Hold documents you can check rather than timelines you are told.

A Diploma student is governed by two sets of dates. The board sets the examination window, and the school sets everything else: internal assessment deadlines in six subjects, Extended Essay supervision meetings, Theory of Knowledge submission dates, the mock window, and whatever internal reporting cycle generates the information a family sees. Only the second set is actionable, and it is the set families least often hold.

Asking for it is straightforward and it should happen in September. The three documents that matter are the internal assessment calendar covering all six subjects, the Extended Essay supervision schedule, and the Theory of Knowledge dates. In a small school those may exist as one sheet; in a larger one they may need three requests. Either way the coordinator has them, and a family that holds them can place every tuition block before a cluster rather than on top of one.

The reason this matters disproportionately in Fujairah is that there is no second source. In a large market a parent can compare notes with several families at several schools and triangulate what a normal autumn looks like. Here the cohort is small, and if the calendar has not been requested, a household is reacting to deadlines as they arrive with no sense of what is coming next.

One related point about verification. The school's calendar is a document a family can hold and check; a tutoring provider's claimed timeline is not. Where this page gives sourced board positions it names them, and where it has no verified date it says so. No IB exam or results date appears here because none in this project has been confirmed from the board, whose own site returns an error to automated checking.

05

Who supervises your school here, and what to ask for

Parents arriving in Fujairah from Dubai look for a KHDA inspection report on a local school and find nothing, because KHDA's remit stops at the Dubai border. The UAE government's own portal describes the Ministry of Education as playing a pivotal role in supervising private schools in the emirates of Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. That is a different regime, with different publication habits, and a different set of documents to ask for.

The complete map is worth knowing because families move between emirates. KHDA regulates Dubai, where it is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education. ADEK supervises the licensing and accreditation of private schools in Abu Dhabi. The Sharjah Private Education Authority regulates private education in Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah's Department of Knowledge does the same there, with both also approving tuition fees, curricula, programmes, courses, activities and assessment methods. Fujairah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain sit with the federal Ministry.

The practical consequence for an Al Faseel family is that inspection information should be requested from the school rather than downloaded, and that a federal baseline applies: private schools are not obliged to follow a specific curriculum beyond Arabic language, social studies and Islamic studies, but must adhere to the Ministry's general regulations. That is the rule every emirate's mandatory-subject requirement sits on top of.

None of this gives a tutoring provider any standing, and this page claims none. IB Gram holds no approval, accreditation or licence from the Ministry of Education, KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, Ras Al Khaimah's Department of Knowledge, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson. A tutoring operation with premises and staff in Dubai would need a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, with annual renewal requested at least 30 days before expiry; an individual tutor needs the MoHRE private tuition work permit. Neither is a badge a matching platform can wear.

06

Ramadan, the summer and a coastal school year

  • Ramadan moves roughly eleven days earlier each year, so its term position changes.
  • Decide the Ramadan arrangement before the month, with the student.
  • Use the summer for one named target in three or four weeks, not a full programme.
  • Use mid-term breaks for coursework rather than content catch-up.

Three features of the local year reshape a plan and none of them appears on a board timetable. The first is Ramadan: school hours shorten, the useful study window moves to after Iftar, and a month of a two-year course runs on a different rhythm from the rest of it. The month also moves roughly eleven days earlier against the Gregorian calendar each year, so its position inside the school year changes and a plan reused unchanged will eventually place its heaviest weeks inside it.

The practical answer is to decide before the month begins rather than during it. Sessions move to post-Iftar timing, or shorten and keep their frequency. An online booking absorbs that easily; in Fujairah an in-home visit after Iftar is a much harder thing to arrange, because the local pool is small and the evening is late. A month quietly abandoned and resumed in a rush is where more Diploma momentum is lost than in any single bad mock.

The second is the summer, which is long, hot and the only unallocated block in the year. In an emirate where a content gap cannot be fixed by finding another local teacher mid-term, three or four weeks in the summer on one named target is the highest-value window available. What does not work is running a full programme through it: a student who studies all summer arrives in September already tired, which costs more than the gap would have.

The third is the local calendar's own breaks. Eid holidays, National Day on 2 December and mid-term breaks all sit inside terms rather than between them, which makes them the natural place for coursework rather than content. A student who finishes an internal assessment draft during a mid-term break buys two weeks of autumn back, and in the Grade 12 autumn two weeks is a substantial amount.

07

Results, the alternative session and a thin fallback

The fortnight after results is where a family in a small emirate is most exposed, because there is often nobody locally to ask and the decisions have deadlines. Three options exist and identifying which applies matters more than reacting quickly.

The first is an enquiry upon results, where the school asks the board to review a mark. It is a school process with its own deadline and criteria, and the right question for the coordinator is whether the component profile makes a review plausible rather than whether the result was disappointing. The second is a retake in a later session. The third is accepting the result, which is frequently correct and almost never presented as an option.

The deciding input in all three cases is the component breakdown: marks by paper and by internal component. A shortfall concentrated in one component is a different problem from one spread across all of them, and only the first is reliably closed by a short block of technique work. Asking for that breakdown before any decision is the step most families skip and the one that determines whether an entry fee is well spent.

On dates the same restraint applies as elsewhere here. UAE schools sit the May session and a November session exists as an alternative route, but no IB date in this project has been verified from the board, so none is published. Ask the coordinator about entry routes and deadlines, and tell any receiving institution about timing in advance rather than relying on it to accommodate a later result.

THE FORTNIGHT AFTER RESULTS, IN ORDER

08

Honesty, materials and the permit

A page asking a family to commit a year in advance owes a clear account of its own limits. A tutor may teach the subject content, explain each assessment criterion and what its descriptors demand, help narrow a research question, review a method for feasibility and ethics, and give written feedback on a draft the student has already written.

A tutor must never write, redraft or complete an Internal Assessment, a Mathematics exploration, an Extended Essay, a Theory of Knowledge essay or any assessed coursework, and must not supply text, data or diagrams for submission. A page found during research for this project sells completed Internal Assessments at AED 3,750. That is an academic integrity breach and an IB malpractice trigger, and the consequence falls on the student rather than on whoever sold it, which matters especially in a small cohort where work is read closely.

On materials: no tutor should reproduce or distribute IB, Cambridge or Pearson syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes, grade-boundary tables or subject guides as downloads. The official source should be referenced and linked instead, which is why this page carries no attachments and asks readers to confirm every allocation against the documents their own school issues.

On who may teach: private tutoring in the UAE is regulated by permit. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years, and covers teachers registered in government or private schools, employees in the government and private sectors, unemployed individuals, school students aged 15 to 18 and university students. MoHRE's own service page lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time. Individuals tutoring without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule is published, so none is quoted. No tutor can promise a grade, and IB Gram holds no approval, accreditation or licence from the Ministry of Education, KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, Ras Al Khaimah's Department of Knowledge, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson.

Where we tutor

Al Faseel and the Fujairah communities around it

Fujairah's communities are strung along the coast and into the mountains, and what differs between them is how far the school run is. The specialist shortage is the same everywhere.

Al Faseel

Coastal residential district at Fujairah city near the corniche, close to the city's school cluster. Short journeys and reasonable housing, so a 4:30pm start is realistic on most school days.

Fujairah City

The commercial and administrative centre and the location of most of the emirate's private schools. The shortest journeys in Fujairah, and the only district where a local in-home tutor is likely to be reachable at all.

Sakamkam

Residential district north of the city centre with family housing. A slightly longer run than Al Faseel and a 5:00pm realistic earliest start for most households.

Merashid

Established district close to the city with mixed housing. Journeys into the school cluster are short, and quiet space is generally easier to find here than in central apartment stock.

Al Gurfa

Coastal area south of the city centre. The drive lengthens, which pushes weekday sessions later and makes a weekend block more valuable than a weekday one.

Dibba Al Fujairah

Northern coastal town a substantial drive from Fujairah city, where the local school choice narrows further and online delivery stops being a preference.

Qidfa

Coastal community south of the city with a long run into the school cluster. Families here usually plan around one weekend block and one short weekday slot rather than two weekday sessions.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Al Faseel

Fujairah city, the Al Faseel catchment

Almost all of the emirate's private-school provision sits in or around Fujairah city, within a short drive of Al Faseel. The document worth requesting from whichever school a student attends is its internal assessment and deadline calendar, because that is what a two-year plan is built from. Students we support attend schools in this cluster.

  • Fujairah Private Academy
  • Our Own English High School Fujairah
  • Indian School Fujairah
  • Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia School

Across the mountains, for families who commute

A small number of Fujairah families send children across the Hajar pass into Sharjah for a particular programme, which puts the school under the Sharjah Private Education Authority rather than under the federal Ministry of Education, and adds a mountain drive to every school day.

  • Victoria International School of Sharjah
  • Australian International School Sharjah
  • Emirates National School Sharjah
  • Delta English School

Schools are named to describe the environment an Al Faseel student studies in. No affiliation, partnership or endorsement is implied, and every name should be checked against the Ministry of Education's own school listing before it affects a decision.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Request the three school documents in September

The internal assessment calendar for all six subjects, the Extended Essay supervision schedule and the Theory of Knowledge dates. The coordinator has them, and a family that holds them can place every block before a deadline cluster rather than on top of one.

  2. 02

Reserve a named tutor for the term, not the session

In Fujairah a mid-year collapse means starting again rather than switching, because there is no local replacement pool. A reserved weekly slot with a named tutor agreed in September usually holds for the year, and that continuity is worth more here than a marginally better rate.

  3. 03

    Take the free diagnostic session

The first session is a diagnosis with no card details taken. It classifies lost marks into content, method, command term and timing, and you keep the written summary naming the first three targets whether or not anything else is booked.

  4. 04

Put the later blocks on the calendar now

The Grade 12 coursework block and the pre-series block are reserved at the start of the year rather than requested when they are needed, because specialist capacity tightens as a series approaches and the local alternative is thin.

  5. 05

Decide Ramadan and the summer in advance

Move sessions to post-Iftar timing before the month begins rather than suspending and resuming in a rush, and use three or four summer weeks on one named target. Both decisions cost nothing and both are routinely made too late.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The decisions that close, listed

Levels, coursework topics, research questions, predicted grades, entries and the choice of tutor all close earlier than families expect. Knowing when each closes turns a two-year course into a sequence of dated decisions rather than a series of surprises.

The mountains made irrelevant

The Hajar pass constrains bodies, not teaching. Over live video a student in Al Faseel has the same access to a Higher Level specialist as a student in Dubai, which is not true of any in-person arrangement at any price.

Continuity treated as the scarce resource

In this emirate a tutoring arrangement that fails in February cannot be replaced locally, so a named tutor reserved for a term matters more than it would in a large market. That is a commitment worth asking any provider to make in writing.

Built from the school's own calendar

The internal assessment dates, the Extended Essay schedule and the Theory of Knowledge deadlines are documents a family can hold and check. A plan built from them beats one built from anybody's claimed timeline.

No unverified dates, anywhere

No IB exam or results date appears on this page, because the board's own site returns an error to automated checking and nothing in this project has been verified from it. An unverified date a family plans a year around is worse than an absent one.

Limits stated, including ours

Teaching, criterion explanation and written feedback on the student's own draft: yes. Producing any part of assessed work: never. No promised grades, and no claim of approval from the Ministry of Education or any other regulator or board.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Faseel: your questions answered

Is there a Diploma specialist available locally in Fujairah?+

For the most widely taught subjects at Standard Level, sometimes. For a Higher Level science, Economics with its commentaries, or a minority language, frequently not at all, because the emirate's private-school set is small and a given option may be taught by one teacher in one school. That teacher is also often the person least able to tutor the students who need them. Online delivery is what changes the answer, since no scheduling arrangement makes a subject specialist appear on this side of the mountains.

Why does this page tell me to plan in Grade 11?+

Because that is when the decisions close. Subject and level choices settle in the first term, coursework topics and methods close when drafting or data collection begins, the Extended Essay question closes once several thousand words exist, and predicted grades are issued in the autumn of the final year reflecting work already done. Grade 12 can only execute decisions Grade 11 made, and in Fujairah a poor decision is harder to correct because the local alternatives are fewer.

What do the Hajar mountains actually change for tutoring?+

They make any in-person arrangement originating outside the emirate impractical, because a tutor in Sharjah or Dubai will not drive through the pass on a weekday evening, and they narrow access to the group and weekend provision that is abundant in Dubai. They change nothing about the papers, the criteria, the command terms, the internal deadlines or the standards, which are identical here and in Jumeirah. And they are irrelevant to a format that moves no bodies at all.

Which three documents should I ask my child's school for?+

The internal assessment calendar covering all six subjects, the Extended Essay supervision schedule, and the Theory of Knowledge submission dates. In a small school these may exist as one sheet; either way the coordinator has them. A family that holds them can place coursework blocks before a deadline cluster and paper work after it clears, which is the difference between a placed plan and a reactive one.

Who inspects private schools in Fujairah?+

The federal Ministry of Education, which the UAE government's portal describes as playing a pivotal role in supervising private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. KHDA covers Dubai, ADEK covers Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Private Education Authority covers Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah has its own Department of Knowledge. Practically, a parent here should request the school's latest inspection outcome directly rather than expecting to download it as a Dubai family would.

How far ahead should an Al Faseel family book a tutor?+

A term ahead, and for a scarce Higher Level subject the September before. Specialist capacity in this market is loosest in September and October while tutors are building a term, tightens from November as autumn reports land, and is tightest from the spring, which is exactly when most families start looking. A reserved weekly slot agreed early usually holds for the whole year, and in an emirate without a local replacement pool that continuity is the thing being bought.

What happens if the tutoring arrangement fails mid-year here?+

In a large market you switch; in Fujairah you often start again, which is why the replacement question should be settled before any payment. Ask any provider what happens in week three if the match is wrong, and expect a specific answer: a different tutor, with the session notes transferred, at no extra charge. An online arrangement has a bench behind it. A local in-home arrangement in this emirate frequently does not, because the person who did not fit may have been the only one available.

Can an in-home tutor from Dubai teach my child in Al Faseel?+

In practice, no, and it is better to hear that plainly. A weekday evening journey through the Hajar pass and back is not a sustainable arrangement for anybody, and a quote that implies it should be read sceptically. The realistic in-home pool is whoever already lives in the emirate, which is small. Published rates for context, read October 2026: a qualified subject tutor working online is advertised at AED 150 to 300 an hour and in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to 500.

What is the best use of a Fujairah summer between Grade 11 and Grade 12?+

For one named target, in three or four weeks with two sessions a week, finishing before term begins. The usual target is the content gap identified in the spring, or settling a coursework topic and method so the autumn cluster starts with a viable plan. What does not work is a full programme across July and August: a student who studies all summer arrives in September already tired, which costs more than the original gap would have.

How does Ramadan change a plan in Fujairah?+

School hours shorten and the useful study window moves to after Iftar. Decide the arrangement before the month begins: move sessions to post-Iftar timing, or shorten them and keep the frequency. An online booking absorbs that easily, whereas an in-home visit after Iftar is hard to arrange here because the local pool is small and the evening is late. Note also that Ramadan moves roughly eleven days earlier each year, so its position inside the school year changes.

Why are there no IB dates on this page at all?+

Because none has been verified. The IB's own site returns an error to automated checking, so no IB exam or results date in this project is confirmed from the board, and publishing an unverified date that a family builds a two-year plan around would be worse than publishing none. What is safe to state is that UAE schools sit the May session and that a November session exists as an alternative route. Take every specific date from your coordinator or from ibo.org.

What should we ask for in the fortnight after results?+

The component breakdown first, marks by paper and by internal component, before any decision. A shortfall concentrated in one component is a different problem from one spread across all of them, and only the first is reliably closed by a short block of technique work. Then ask the coordinator whether the profile makes an enquiry upon results plausible, which is a school process with its own deadline. Accepting the result is often correct and rarely offered as an option.

Is it worth getting an outside view if nothing seems wrong?+

In a small emirate, often yes, and it is a different purchase from remedial work. A Fujairah Diploma cohort can be very small, so a position inside it carries little information about absolute standing against published criteria, and a sole subject teacher has no colleague to moderate internal work against. One external check a year is calibration rather than tuition, and it is considerably cheaper than a repair bought in the final term.

Which Fujairah schools do Al Faseel students attend?+

Almost all of the emirate's private provision sits in or around Fujairah city, a short drive from Al Faseel, with Fujairah Private Academy, Our Own English High School Fujairah and Indian School Fujairah among the names families mention. A small number of households cross the Hajar pass into Sharjah for a particular programme, which places that school under the Sharjah Private Education Authority instead. Every school name should be checked against the Ministry of Education's own listing before it affects a decision.

Does my child's tutor need a permit, and can I see it?+

Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated by permit, and yes, you can ask. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years, and covers teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. MoHRE's own service page lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time. Tutoring without one carries fines and penalties under the applicable laws.

Put the year on paper in September

For a family in Al Faseel the useful move is not finding somebody nearby but writing the year down before it starts. Request the three school documents, reserve a named tutor for the term rather than the session, and put the Grade 12 coursework block and the pre-series block on the calendar now, because capacity tightens later and the local alternative is thin. The first session is a free diagnosis on a recent marked paper, with no card details taken. Lessons run one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, which is the one arrangement the mountains cannot interrupt.
