IB Home Tutor in Jumeirah Park

Parents searching for an IB home tutor in Jumeirah Park are usually solving a timetable problem, not a teaching one. The school bus reaches the villa between 15:20 and 16:10 depending on which district you live in, and whatever happens next has to fit before dinner. IB Gram matches your child to an IB subject specialist and delivers the lesson live online, on Gulf Standard Time, so the session starts the minute your child sits down.

  • Lessons delivered live online, one-to-one, never a recorded class
  • Sessions timed to the Jumeirah Park school run, 16:00 to 21:00 GST
  • Subject specialists matched by HL or SL, not by postcode
  • Free trial lesson before any payment is taken

IB & IGCSE in Jumeirah Park

The real question behind an IB home tutor search in Jumeirah Park

Jumeirah Park sits between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, a villa grid of nine districts with Dubai British School Jumeirah Park inside the community itself and a ring of larger international schools within fifteen minutes of the gates. That geography shapes the tutoring question completely. A family in District 4 is not short of qualified teachers in the city; they are short of a half-hour window between the bus arriving and homework collapsing into argument.

So the search for an IB home tutor in Jumeirah Park is really three questions stacked on top of each other. Who actually knows this syllabus at the level my child is sitting it? When can they realistically teach, given a school day that ends at 15:00 and a parent who gets back from Business Bay at 18:30? And what does the market charge before anyone starts quoting me packages?

This page answers all three in order, with the numbers attributed. The answer to the first is that IB subject depth is scarce and geographically random: there is no reason the Chemistry HL specialist who understands criterion-based IA marking happens to live in Al Furjan rather than Al Barsha. The answer to the second is that a live online lesson removes the only variable you cannot control, which is Dubai traffic between 16:00 and 19:00. The answer to the third is a table further down, drawn from published competitor rates and Bestimate's Dubai rate survey.

Be clear on one point before you read further. IB Gram does not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE. Home visits are a service we run in India only. Online IB tutoring in Jumeirah Park is what we actually deliver: one tutor, one student, live video, screen-shared past-paper questions and a shared whiteboard, scheduled in Gulf Standard Time. We target the phrase because it is what parents type; we are not going to pretend a car is coming.

One more piece of context before the detail. Dubai's private school sector held 387,441 students across 227 schools in 2024-25, offering seventeen different curricula, with the British curriculum at 37 per cent of enrolment and the IB at 7 per cent. That means IB families in any given Dubai neighbourhood are a minority of a large market, and the tutoring supply reflects it: plenty of generalists, far fewer people who have taught a specific HL course through to a May session.

What you get instead is a wider pool. A villa in Jumeirah Park that insists on a tutor who can drive to the door is choosing from whoever is free, permitted and within a twenty-minute radius on a weekday evening. A family that accepts live video is choosing from every IB Diploma Programme tutor in Dubai and beyond who teaches that subject at that level. For a mainstream subject the difference is modest. For Physics HL, Chemistry HL or Maths AA HL it is the whole difference between a tutor who knows the course and a tutor who read the guide last week.

At a glance

  • Nine residential districts, one in-community school, and no metro station inside Jumeirah Park
  • Nearest Route 2020 stations are Al Furjan and Discovery Gardens, both a short drive out
  • School buses typically clear the community between 15:20 and 16:10
  • Most IB families here start with one 60-minute session per week per subject
  • Dubai confirmed no private school fee increase for 2026-27 (KHDA, 22 May 2026)
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Jumeirah Park children are spread across three IB programmes depending on which school the family chose and when they moved to Dubai. Each programme fails in a different way, and each needs a different kind of weekly session.

PYPAges 3-12 · FS1 to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

The PYP is organised around transdisciplinary units rather than subject syllabuses, so a parent often cannot tell from the report whether number fluency or reading stamina is the gap. Tutoring at this stage is diagnostic first: a tutor establishes where arithmetic automaticity, place value or written inference actually sits against age expectation, then builds twenty-minute practice blocks that do not look like more school.

Jumeirah Park primary pupils often attend a British-curriculum school in the community and move to an IB continuum school later, which means an arrival into MYP from a Year 6 that never used criterion marking. Sessions in the final primary year are better spent on independent written explanation than on content.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

MYP marks are awarded against four criteria per subject on a 1-8 scale, then converted to a 1-7 grade by a school-set boundary table. Students lose marks for process, not knowledge: an unlabelled graph, a missing evaluation of method, a conclusion that repeats the result. A tutor works criterion by criterion with the school's own task sheet in front of both of them.

The MYP-to-DP step is the sharpest transition in the Dubai system and it lands in Year 11. Jumeirah Park families who plan a move into Diploma at a school in Al Barsha or Jumeirah Village Triangle should use the final MYP year to build the algebraic fluency and lab-report discipline DP assumes on day one.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service. Final grades come from written papers sat in the May session for UAE schools, combined with internally assessed coursework. The workload problem is almost never one subject; it is four deadlines landing in the same fortnight with no revision plan behind them.

Dubai DP candidates sit the May session, and the Internal Assessment deadlines set by the school typically fall a full year before that. A weekly session from the start of DP1 costs less in total than an emergency block in the spring of DP2, and it is the pattern most Jumeirah Park families settle into.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

The CP pairs at least two DP courses with a career-related study and a reflective project. It is offered by a small number of UAE schools and suits students who want a vocational spine with genuine IB subject rigour. Tutoring usually targets the DP courses inside it, plus the personal and professional skills portfolio, which students under-plan.

CP provision in Dubai is thin and concentrated in a handful of schools, so a Jumeirah Park family on this route is often the only one in their street. That isolation is exactly where a specialist online tutor helps, because local word-of-mouth produces nobody who has taught the course.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

These are the IB subjects Jumeirah Park families ask for most often, with what each actually assesses. Levels are listed as the school teaches them, and a tutor is matched to the level, not to the subject in general.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

The route most UAE engineering and economics applicants need. HL adds proof by induction, complex numbers in Cartesian and polar form, Maclaurin series and vector geometry. Marks go missing in Paper 1 where no calculator is available and algebraic manipulation has to be exact. An IB maths AA tutor in Dubai works Paper 1 under timed conditions from early DP1.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Calculator-active throughout, with statistics, regression, graph theory at HL and a modelling emphasis. Students who chose AI because AA looked harder still lose marks for the same reason: they describe a result rather than interpreting it in context. The IA here rewards a genuinely owned data set over a borrowed one.

Physics

HL and SL

Mechanics, waves, electricity and magnetism, atomic and nuclear physics, with HL extending into fields, induction and quantum phenomena. Paper 3 brings data analysis and an option topic. The commonest diagnosable failure is unit and significant-figure discipline in long-answer questions where the physics was actually right.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Stoichiometry, energetics, kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, redox and organic chemistry, with HL adding spectroscopic identification and more quantitative equilibrium work. Organic mechanisms are where most students stall, because they memorise products instead of learning arrow-pushing. Practical data skills are assessed in Paper 3 and in the IA.

Biology

HL and SL

A content-heavy course where the mark is usually lost to command terms rather than recall. 'Outline', 'explain', 'evaluate' and 'distinguish' each demand a different answer shape, and examiner reports repeat this every session. Tutoring here is mostly answer construction against real mark schemes, plus statistics for the IA.

Economics

HL and SL

Microeconomics, macroeconomics and the global economy, with HL adding quantitative work and a longer paper. The Internal Assessment is three commentaries on published news articles, each 800 words, and students routinely pick articles that cannot carry a diagram. Choosing the article well is half the mark.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Paper 1 is unseen textual analysis, Paper 2 a comparative essay, plus the Individual Oral linking a global issue to two texts. HL adds the essay on a studied text. Students lose marks by summarising rather than analysing how meaning is constructed. Tutoring targets the thesis sentence and the line-level evidence.

Business Management

HL and SL

Business organisation, human resource management, finance, marketing and operations, assessed partly through a research project. The quantitative sections, especially investment appraisal and cash-flow forecasting, catch out students who are strong writers. HL adds extension topics and a longer case study.

Computer Science

HL and SL

System fundamentals, computer organisation, networks and computational thinking, with HL adding abstract data structures and resource management. The Internal Assessment is a working solution for a real client, and the commonest problem is scope: a project too ambitious to document properly in the word limit.

Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and IA support

Core components

TOK is an exhibition plus a prescribed-title essay; the Extended Essay is a 4,000-word independent research piece with a supervisor. A tutor can teach research question design, argument structure and citation, and give feedback on the student's own drafts. A tutor cannot write any part of it, and we say so on the page.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways families in this area actually use us, in the order they usually arrive at them. All three are delivered live online with one tutor and one student, scheduled in Gulf Standard Time.

Weekly one-to-one, term-time

One 60-minute session per subject per week, same tutor, same slot, running alongside the school's own scheme of work. This is the pattern that fits a Jumeirah Park weekday best because it can be fixed at 16:30 or 17:30 and then left alone for a term. The tutor works from the school's assessment calendar rather than a generic syllabus order.

  • Fixed weekly slot between 16:00 and 21:00 GST
  • Tutor tracks the school's own deadlines and unit tests
  • Short written feedback after each session
  • Add a second subject without changing tutors for the first

Internal Assessment and Extended Essay coaching

A block of sessions built around a coursework deadline: research question design, method, data handling, structure, citation and feedback on the student's own drafts. The tutor reads what the student wrote and tells them where the criterion is not yet met. The tutor does not write, rewrite or supply content, and that limit is the point of the service.

  • Criterion-by-criterion review against the published descriptors
  • Research question narrowed before any writing starts
  • Feedback on the student's draft, never a tutor-written draft
  • Timed to the school's internal deadline, not the exam date

Exam-season intensive

A short, dense run of sessions in the weeks before the May session or a mock window, built entirely around past papers and mark schemes. Frequency rises to two or three sessions a week per subject and the content is driven by what the student actually got wrong last week, not by a revision schedule written in advance.

  • Two to three sessions weekly per subject
  • Papers worked under timed conditions, then marked together
  • Topic list rebuilt weekly from errors, not from the syllabus order
  • Can run during school holidays and across time zones if you travel

What an IB home tutor in Jumeirah Park actually means in practice

  • Lessons are live, one-to-one and online; there is no in-person option in the UAE
  • Tutors are matched by subject and by HL or SL, not by how close they live
  • Sessions run on Gulf Standard Time and can be moved week to week if school clashes
  • A free trial lesson comes before any payment, so the match is tested first

An IB home tutor in Jumeirah Park, as the phrase is used locally, means one-to-one IB teaching arranged for a child who lives in this community rather than at a centre they have to be driven to. Most families who type it are not attached to the idea of someone in their living room; they are attached to the idea of not getting back into a car at 16:30. That distinction matters, because it is the whole reason online delivery works here.

IB Gram provides that one-to-one teaching as live online tutoring in Jumeirah Park. A tutor and a student meet on video at a fixed time, share a whiteboard and a past paper, and work. Nobody travels. IB Gram does not offer home visits in the UAE at all; our in-person service exists only in India, and no page on this site will tell you otherwise.

The practical difference shows up in what you are choosing between. Hiring locally means choosing a tutor from the set of people who hold a MoHRE private tuition work permit, teach your child's subject at your child's level, and can be at a villa in District 7 by 17:00 on a Tuesday. Those three conditions intersect in a very small number of people, and the intersection gets smaller the more specialised the subject. Choosing online removes the third condition entirely and leaves the two that affect the grade.

There is a second practical consequence, which is that the arrangement survives a house move, a change of school or a summer abroad without you having to start the search again. Jumeirah Park is a community people move within and out of, often at the end of an academic year, and an online tutor who already knows the student's weak topics is worth more in September than a new local tutor who has to begin again from nothing.

02

The Jumeirah Park school run, and when a session can realistically start

This is the part nobody publishes, and it is the single most useful thing on this page for a family here. Dubai private schools finish between roughly 14:30 and 15:30 depending on the school and the year group. What decides your tutoring slot is not the bell but the bus: a Jumeirah Park address on a route that also serves Al Barsha and Jumeirah Village adds twenty to forty minutes to that.

The table below sets out the pattern families in this community report, so you can see where your own household sits. Times are indicative and vary by route, year group and term, and your school's own transport office is the authority on your actual route. The useful column is the last one: the earliest slot at which a child is home, fed something and capable of thinking.

One detail worth knowing if you are new to the area: Jumeirah Park has no metro station inside it. The nearest Route 2020 stations are Al Furjan and Discovery Gardens, both of which require a car to reach, so public transport plays no part in a tutoring timetable here. Whatever happens after school happens by car or at home, which is why the afternoon window is as tight as it is.

The pattern that emerges is simple. Families whose children attend the school inside the community can genuinely hold a 16:00 slot. Everyone bussed outward is better off at 17:00 or 17:30, and Diploma students in DP2 often prefer 19:30 because they want to eat and decompress first. Booking the wrong slot is the commonest reason a tutoring arrangement quietly stops after five weeks.

Which schools this neighbourhood feeds, and what each implies for tutoring

Jumeirah Park is unusual in west Dubai because it has a school inside the gates, which skews the community towards the British curriculum in the primary and lower secondary years. The IB population here is largely secondary: students who moved into a continuum school in Al Barsha or Jumeirah Village, or who took IGCSE locally and then chose the Diploma over A Levels at sixteen.

That produces two distinct tutoring populations in the same postcode. One is MYP students needing criterion-based writing support in a system their parents never experienced. The other is DP1 and DP2 students needing HL subject depth and coursework discipline. They need different tutors, and a platform that treats both as 'IB tutoring' will match the wrong one.

The supply side is also moving. KHDA reported that Dubai's 2026-27 intake adds seven new private schools, four UK curriculum and three International Baccalaureate, creating 16,846 new places, after six schools opened during 2025-26 and enrolment rose six per cent. West Dubai absorbs a good share of that growth, so the school map around Jumeirah Park is not the one it was three years ago and will not be the one it is in three more.

The table is a map of where Jumeirah Park students sit and what each school's programme structure means for support. Curriculum and programme information changes, and the regulator's own school listing is the place to confirm it before you enrol. The KHDA inspection rating column is deliberately left as a pointer to the regulator rather than a figure quoted here, because inspection bands are reissued and a number on this page would go stale.

What IB tutoring costs around Jumeirah Park, with the sources

Start with the monthly figure rather than the hourly one, because that is the number that decides whether an arrangement survives a term. Bestimate's Dubai tutoring rate survey puts a weekly one-hour arrangement at roughly AED 240-600 a month at the budget end, AED 600-1,200 in the middle, and AED 1,000-2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support. A Jumeirah Park family taking two HL subjects at one session each is therefore planning for a four-figure monthly commitment, not a few hundred dirhams.

Working back to the hour, the published market in Dubai runs roughly as follows. EdFlik advertises from AED 45-65 and Tutopiya from AED 33-52 at the budget online end. Unitors publishes IGCSE tuition from AED 150 and IB from AED 200. TutorChase quotes around AED 270 for specialist work, Bestimate puts in-home visits at AED 180-350 and independent home tutors at AED 200-500, and BartyED's premium examiner-led tier reaches AED 650. These are those providers' own published figures, read in October 2026.

None of these are IB Gram prices and this page does not publish one, because the right figure depends on subject, level and how many weeks are left. What we will say is where the money leaks: paying a travel premium for a generalist, buying a twenty-session package before testing the match, and starting Internal Assessment support three weeks before a deadline instead of three months. Begin with the free trial lesson and a consultation, then commit.

A home visit in Jumeirah Park versus the same hour online

Set the teaching aside for a moment and count what the two formats actually cost a household in this specific community. A tutor driving into Jumeirah Park from Al Barsha or Business Bay in the 17:00 peak is adding somewhere between forty and ninety minutes of round-trip travel to your hour. Somebody pays for that, either in the rate or in the tutor's willingness to keep the slot in week eleven.

The second cost is selection. Insisting on a home visit narrows the pool to tutors willing to make that drive, at that time, for that rate. In practice that means generalists, because a Physics HL specialist with full evenings has no reason to spend ninety minutes in traffic. The honest version of the trade-off is that a home visit buys you physical presence and costs you subject depth.

Against that, in-person has real advantages and it is worth naming them. A younger child who will not sit still on video genuinely does better with an adult in the room. Practical equipment handling is easier face to face. A household with no quiet room and no decent connection is not a good candidate for online lessons. The table below lays the comparison out so you can judge it against your own household rather than ours.

The third cost is continuity, and it is the one families underestimate. A home visit depends on the tutor's route still working in week twelve, after their own job changes or they take on a client in Mirdif. Slots held by travel tend to drift, then get cancelled, then quietly end. A slot held by nothing but a calendar entry is far harder to lose, and in exam term that reliability is worth more than the format debate.

The exam calendar counted backwards from a Jumeirah Park study desk

Dubai IB Diploma candidates sit the May session. Cambridge IGCSE and O Level candidates in the UAE sit the June and November series, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs May/June and November. The February/March Cambridge series is offered to India only and is not an option for a UAE candidate, which matters because that mistake circulates widely in tutoring content.

The useful exercise is to count backwards. Nothing in the IB year is decided by the exam date; it is decided by the school's internal coursework deadlines, which sit roughly a year earlier. A DP2 student who has not chosen an Extended Essay research question by the autumn of DP1 is already behind, regardless of how good the revision plan looks in March.

Specific IB session and results dates are not published on this page. The IB's own site is the only authority and it blocks automated checking, so we will not restate a date that may have been revised. For Cambridge and Pearson the live official timetable is the reference, and your school's exams officer holds the zone-specific version. Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones and states that it cannot accept responsibility for a candidate who used the wrong zone's timetable, so this is worth checking rather than assuming.

For an IGCSE sibling in the same household, the Pearson pattern is worth knowing as a worked example of how far ahead deadlines sit. The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE November 2026 timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026, with results reaching students in January; November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026, and June 2026 results went to centres on 19 August 2026. Entry deadlines sit months before any of that, and they are set by the school, not the board.

KHDA, the mandatory UAE subjects, and the squeeze on the week

  • KHDA regulates private schools in Dubai; ADEK covers Abu Dhabi and SPEA covers Sharjah
  • Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are compulsory whatever the curriculum
  • Mandatory-subject time is calculated on a 40-minute lesson unit
  • Dubai confirmed no private school fee increase for 2026-27 on 22 May 2026
  • A school's inspection rating is published by the regulator, not by us

Dubai's private schools are regulated by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, which u.ae describes as responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in the emirate. Every Jumeirah Park family's school sits inside that system, is inspected on a six-band scale from Outstanding to Very Weak, and publishes its rating. IB Gram is not approved, accredited or licensed by KHDA and does not claim to be; we explain the regulator because parents ask, not because it endorses us.

The piece that affects your week is the mandatory-subject requirement. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are compulsory in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, and KHDA required its current guidance to be implemented by the start of the 2025-26 academic year. KHDA calculates mandatory-subject time on a forty-minute lesson unit, allows schools to vary lesson length provided the weekly total is met, and advises that no mandatory lesson runs shorter than twenty-five minutes.

In an IB Diploma timetable that already carries six subjects, TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS, those additional periods are real pressure. KHDA also requires separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, and states that combined classes are strictly prohibited because the curriculum expectations and language of instruction differ. For tutoring, the consequence is prioritisation: decide which subject the weekly hour goes to, and do not spread one hour across three.

08

Academic honesty: what an IB tutor may and may not do

  • Teaching, feedback and process coaching: yes
  • Writing, rewriting or supplying coursework content: never
  • Official syllabuses, past papers and mark schemes: cited and linked, not reproduced
  • Any promise of a specific grade or score: not something we will make

This is the shortest section with the highest stakes, so it is written plainly. A tutor may teach the content, explain the assessment criteria, help a student design a research question, teach referencing, and read and comment on work the student has written. A tutor may not write, part-write, rewrite to completion, or supply any portion of an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or Personal Project.

That line exists because the consequence falls on the student, not the tutor. Submitting work that is not your own is a malpractice matter handled by the IB, and the outcome can reach the loss of the Diploma. There are operators in this market who sell completed Internal Assessments outright at four-figure prices. We will not, and a parent in Jumeirah Park comparing quotes should treat that offer as a warning rather than a service.

What good IA coaching looks like in practice is unglamorous. The tutor reads the student's draft with the published criterion descriptors open, says which descriptor band the work currently sits in and why, and names the specific thing missing: no evaluation of the method, an uncertainty never propagated, a conclusion that does not answer the research question. The student then goes and fixes it. That process produces both a better mark and a student who can do it again.

The same restraint applies to materials. We do not reproduce or supply IB, Cambridge or Pearson syllabuses, past papers, mark schemes or grade-boundary tables as downloads. A tutor will reference the official document and link to it, and your child's school already holds licensed access to the papers they need. Anyone offering you a drive full of exam material is offering you a copyright problem rather than a teaching advantage.

09

What happens when the right tutor is not free

  • Peak demand is weekday 17:00-19:00 GST during the spring term
  • Hardest subjects to staff at short notice: Physics HL, Chemistry HL, Maths AA HL
  • You are told the wait, offered an alternative slot, or offered an interim tutor
  • Where a tutor is based outside the UAE, we say so before you book

Availability is the thing tutoring companies conceal, so here is ours. The scarce slots are weekday 17:00 to 19:00 GST in the spring term, and the scarce subjects are Physics HL, Chemistry HL, Maths AA HL and Computer Science. If you ask for all four conditions at once in March, there is a real chance the specialist you want has no free evening slot that week.

When that happens you get told, not managed. The options are a different time slot with the specialist you wanted, an immediate start with a strong generalist while the specialist's slot opens up, or a wait with a date attached. Some tutors covering UAE families are based outside the UAE and teach on Gulf Standard Time; where that applies we say so, because a parent is entitled to know who is teaching their child and from where.

The reason this is worth stating on a Jumeirah Park page specifically is that the local alternative has the same problem and hides it. A home-visit tutor who covers this community has a finite number of evening slots within driving distance, and when they are full the honest answer is also no. Online delivery does not abolish scarcity; it just means the constraint is the tutor's calendar rather than Al Khail Road.

If you are planning ahead, the way to avoid the problem entirely is to book the slot before you need it. Families who start a weekly session in September hold their 17:00 Tuesday for the whole year. Families who start in March take whatever is left. That is not a sales line; it is simply how a calendar of one-to-one slots fills, and it is the same for every provider in this market whether they admit it or not.

Where we tutor

Jumeirah Park and the communities either side of it

Tutoring logistics in this part of Dubai change street by street, because the school bus route and the Al Khail Road exit you use decide what time a session can start. These are the communities families in and around Jumeirah Park actually come from.

Jumeirah Park

Nine districts of villas with Dubai British School Jumeirah Park inside the community. Buses to schools in Al Barsha and Jumeirah Village clear the gates by roughly 16:00, which makes a 16:30 session the earliest comfortable slot.

Jumeirah Islands

A smaller, gated cluster of villas on the other side of Sheikh Zayed Road access roads, with no school inside the community. Every pupil here is bussed or driven, so arrival times are later and 17:00 onwards is more realistic.

Jumeirah Village Triangle

Home to Sunmarke School and Arcadia Preparatory School, so families here often have the shortest run of anyone in the area. It also means a good number of IB Diploma students within a very small radius.

Jumeirah Village Circle

Dense apartment and townhouse stock with JSS International School and Nord Anglia within reach. Study space is the constraint rather than travel, which makes a headset and a closed door part of the tutoring setup.

Al Furjan

Served by its own Route 2020 metro station and home to Arbor School and Safa Community School. Families here are often the ones who discover that the metro does not help a 16:00 tutoring appointment at all.

Jumeirah Golf Estates

Low-density villas with a Route 2020 station on the community edge. Pupils commute outward to Al Barsha, Umm Suqeim and Dubailand schools, so the return leg is the longest in this group.

The Gardens and Discovery Gardens

Older, denser housing with a metro station each and a very mixed school map, including The Winchester School and Delhi Private School Dubai. A strong source of IGCSE and MYP enquiries rather than Diploma.

Dubai Production City and Motor City

The eastern edge of this catchment, with GEMS Metropole and Victory Heights Primary nearby. Al Khail Road in the evening peak is the reason online scheduling is easier than a home visit here.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Jumeirah Park

Inside and immediately around Jumeirah Park

The schools a Jumeirah Park address actually feeds, most within a fifteen-minute drive in off-peak traffic. Programmes differ sharply between them, so the first question in any consultation is which school and which board, not which neighbourhood.

  • Dubai British School Jumeirah Park
  • Sunmarke School
  • Arcadia Preparatory School
  • Arcadia Global School
  • JSS International School
  • Safa Community School
  • Arbor School

The wider west Dubai IB cluster

Where Jumeirah Park Diploma and MYP students most often sit. These are the schools whose internal deadlines and criterion boundaries our tutors are asked about most, and whose published KHDA inspection rating parents tend to read before enrolling.

  • Nord Anglia International School Dubai
  • Dubai International Academy Al Barsha
  • GEMS World Academy Dubai
  • Emirates International School Meadows
  • Raffles World Academy
  • Dubai Heights Academy
  • GEMS Metropole School

Schools are named here only as context for the local education market; IB Gram has no affiliation, partnership or endorsement relationship with any school listed.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Tell us the school, the subject and the level

The first conversation is short and specific. Which school, which year group, which subjects, HL or SL, and what the last report or mock actually said. A Jumeirah Park address tells us the likely bus timing; the school tells us the assessment calendar we will be working to.

  2. 02

Pick the slot that survives the school run

We set the weekly time around when your child is genuinely home and able to concentrate, using the arrival pattern in the table above. For most families here that is 16:30 or 17:30, and for DP2 students it is often after dinner. Getting this right is what makes the arrangement last.

  3. 03

    Take the free trial lesson

One full session with the matched tutor before any payment. It is a real lesson on real material, not a sales call, and you get the tutor's written read of where your child actually is. If the match is wrong, say so and we change the tutor rather than asking you to persist.

  4. 04

Run weekly, against the school's calendar

Sessions follow your child's own scheme of work and internal deadlines rather than a generic syllabus order. You get short written feedback after each one, naming what was covered and what is next. Frequency rises in mock and exam windows and can drop back afterwards.

  5. 05

Review at six weeks, then adjust

After roughly six sessions there is enough evidence to judge. We look at marks on timed work rather than impressions, and decide whether to keep going weekly, add a second subject, shift to IA coaching, or stop. Stopping is a legitimate outcome and we would rather you did it deliberately.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Matched on syllabus, not on distance

A tutor is selected because they teach that subject at that level and know where the marks go, not because they can reach District 7 by five o'clock. For HL sciences and Maths AA that difference is the entire value of the arrangement.

Scheduled around the actual school run

We build the slot from when your child gets home, not from when a timetable says school ends. That is why this page publishes bus arrival patterns: a session booked at the wrong hour fails for reasons that have nothing to do with teaching.

Prices in the market, stated with sources

Every AED figure on this page is attributed to the provider or survey that published it, with the month we read it. Three of the six strongest competitor pages in this market publish no price at all, and two quote US dollars at UAE parents.

Clear limits on coursework help

We teach, review and give feedback on the student's own IA, Extended Essay and TOK work. We do not write any part of it. The line is published here so you can hold us to it and compare it against what else you are being offered.

No claimed approvals and no invented numbers

IB Gram is not approved, accredited or licensed by KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, and does not claim to be. There is no self-asserted star rating and no statistic on this page without its source attached.

A free trial before any commitment

The trial lesson is a complete session with the tutor who would actually teach your child, and no card details are required to take it. The point is to test the match before you buy weeks of it, which is the opposite of a package sold up front.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Jumeirah Park: your questions answered

Do your tutors come to homes in Jumeirah Park?+

No. IB Gram delivers one-to-one IB tuition to Jumeirah Park families live online, over video, on Gulf Standard Time. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE; our in-person home-visit service runs in India only. We target the home-tutor phrase because it is what parents search, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you discover it after a deposit. If a tutor physically in the room is non-negotiable for your child, you need a local in-home provider and the market rate for that is roughly AED 180-500 per hour including travel.

What time can a session start if my child is bussed to Al Barsha?+

Plan for 17:00 at the earliest. Schools in Al Barsha and Al Barsha South typically finish between 15:00 and 15:30, and a bus route serving Jumeirah Park gets most children back between 16:00 and 16:40. Add time to eat and change and a 17:00 start is realistic, 17:30 more comfortable. Children at the school inside Jumeirah Park can genuinely hold a 16:00 slot. Diploma students in their second year often prefer 19:30, after dinner, because they concentrate better than they do at five o'clock. Your school's transport office has your actual route timings.

How much should I expect to spend per month on IB tutoring here?+

Bestimate's Dubai rate survey puts a weekly one-hour arrangement at roughly AED 240-600 a month at the budget end, AED 600-1,200 in the middle, and AED 1,000-2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support. Two HL subjects at one session each therefore sits in four figures monthly. Published hourly rates across the market run from AED 33-65 for budget online providers up to AED 650 at the premium examiner-led end. Those are other providers' figures, read in October 2026. We do not publish a rate card here because the right number depends on subject, level and weeks remaining.

Which IB schools do children from Jumeirah Park usually attend?+

Jumeirah Park has Dubai British School Jumeirah Park inside the community, which runs the British curriculum, so the local IB population is mostly secondary students who travel out. The nearby IB schools families most often name are Nord Anglia International School Dubai and Dubai Heights Academy in Al Barsha South, Dubai International Academy Al Barsha and GEMS World Academy Dubai in Al Barsha, Sunmarke School in Jumeirah Village Triangle, Emirates International School Meadows, and Raffles World Academy in Umm Suqeim. We have no affiliation with any of them; they are named as context. Confirm current programmes on KHDA's own school listing.

Is online IB tutoring actually as effective as having someone in the room?+

For Middle Years and Diploma students, in our experience it is at least as effective, because the thing that drives the grade is the tutor's command of the syllabus and the mark scheme rather than their physical presence. A shared screen with a past paper on it is arguably better than two people leaning over one sheet of paper. The honest exceptions are young children who cannot sustain attention on video, households with no quiet room, and equipment-heavy practical work. If your child is in one of those categories, say so at the consultation.

Can a tutor help my child with the IB Internal Assessment?+

Yes, within clear limits. A tutor can teach the assessment criteria, help narrow a research question, teach method and referencing, and read and comment on drafts your child has written. A tutor cannot write, part-write or rewrite any of it, and will not. Submitting work that is not the student's own is a malpractice matter the IB handles, and the consequences land on the student. Operators in this market do sell completed Internal Assessments; treat that as a reason to avoid them. Good IA coaching reads the student's draft against the published descriptors and names what is missing.

Do private tutors in the UAE need a permit?+

Yes. Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 on private tuition work permits. The permit is granted free of charge for two years, and eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private-sector employees, unemployed individuals, school students aged fifteen to eighteen, and university students. u.ae states that individuals tutoring without a permit are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws. No fine schedule is published, so be sceptical of any figure quoted to you.

When do IB and IGCSE students in Dubai actually sit their exams?+

Dubai IB Diploma candidates sit the May session. Cambridge IGCSE and O Level candidates in the UAE sit the June and November series; the February/March series is offered to India only and is not available here, which is a mistake you will see repeated in tutoring content. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs in May/June and November. Exact dates change and are zone-specific for Cambridge, so use the live official timetable and your school's exams officer rather than any date on a tutoring page, including this one.

My child is moving from MYP into the Diploma next year. What should we do now?+

Use the final MYP year for the two things the Diploma assumes on day one: algebraic fluency and disciplined written explanation. Content gaps are fixable in DP1; habits are not. For intended HL sciences that means lab reports with a real evaluation of method and propagated uncertainties. For Maths AA it means non-calculator algebra done fast and exactly, because Paper 1 allows no calculator. A term of weekly sessions through the summer before DP1 does more for the final grade than the same hours spent in the spring of DP2.

Which IB subjects are hardest to find a specialist for in this area?+

Physics HL, Chemistry HL, Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL, and Computer Science. These are the subjects where a generalist tutor runs out of depth about four weeks in, and they are also the ones where a home-visit requirement hurts most, because the pool of people who can both teach them and drive to a Jumeirah Park villa at 17:00 is very small. Online matching removes the travel condition, which is why we can usually staff them. In the spring term even then there can be a wait, and we will tell you the length of it.

Can sessions move during Ramadan or school holidays?+

Yes, and most families change them. During Ramadan school hours shorten and households often prefer a late-morning slot or a post-Iftar session, and we reschedule to whichever works. Over the summer and winter breaks families frequently either pause entirely or switch to a short intensive block, especially before the Diploma's second year. If you travel, sessions can follow you to another time zone as long as we know the week before. Rescheduling is a slot swap, not a renegotiation, because no tutor has to travel anywhere.

What exactly happens in the free trial session before we commit?+

It is a full-length session with the tutor who would actually teach your child, on material from their current course, with no card details taken. The tutor spends the first part finding out what the student can do rather than what they have covered, then teaches. Afterwards you get a short written read: where the student actually sits, what the first six weeks would target, and what frequency makes sense. If the match is wrong, we change the tutor. The point is to test the pairing before you commit to a term of it.

Does my child's school inspection rating tell me anything about tutoring needs?+

A little, but less than parents expect. KHDA inspects Dubai private schools annually on a six-band scale from Outstanding to Very Weak and publishes the result, and a strong rating does tell you the school is well run. It tells you almost nothing about whether your particular child is secure in Chemistry HL equilibrium calculations. Use the published rating when choosing a school and use your child's own marked work when deciding about tutoring. We read the school report and the last timed paper, not the inspection band.

How do I know the tutor is any good before I pay?+

Judge three things in the trial lesson. Did the tutor diagnose rather than lecture, meaning did they find out what your child can actually do? Could they talk fluently about the mark scheme and where marks are lost in that specific subject at that specific level? Did your child talk, or just listen? A tutor who cannot name the paper weightings for the course they are teaching is not a specialist. Be wary of anyone promising a grade: nobody can guarantee an outcome, and the offer tells you something about the operator.

Can one tutor cover two of my child's IB subjects?+

Sometimes, and it is worth asking. Maths and Physics pair naturally, as do Chemistry and Biology at Standard Level, and a single tutor across two subjects gives you one person who sees the whole workload and can tell you which deadline to prioritise. At Higher Level we usually resist it, because genuine HL depth in two sciences is rare and a tutor stretched across both tends to be strong in one. For a Jumeirah Park family juggling slots, two tutors on two fixed evenings is usually easier than one tutor on a double.

Start with the timetable, then the tutor

If you are searching for an IB home tutor in Jumeirah Park, work out your real session window first. Find out when the bus actually reaches your district, decide whether your child works better at half past four or half past seven, and then look for the tutor who fits that slot and knows the syllabus at the level your child is sitting it. Take the free trial lesson before paying for anything, ask the tutor to name the paper weightings for the course, and tell us the school and the subject rather than just the year group. Lessons run live online, one to one, on Gulf Standard Time.
