IGCSE February March Exam Preparation in Dubai

IGCSE February March exam preparation in Dubai is a search with an uncomfortable answer: Cambridge offers that series to India only, and a candidate sitting in the UAE enters June or November instead. This page says so first, then gives the calendar that does apply here and the evidence method behind it: marked papers, logged raw marks, and a record of grade movement you can read week by week. Sessions run online, one to one.

IB & IGCSE in Dubai

What you have found, and what applies to your child

If you searched for a February or March IGCSE sitting from Dubai, the results you were shown were almost certainly written for India. Cambridge International runs IGCSE and O Level examinations in a June series and a November series, and offers the February and March sitting to candidates in India only. A candidate entered through a centre in the UAE sits June, with November available as the second route. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs a May/June window and a November window.

That distinction is not pedantry. The dates are months apart, and an entry deadline is unforgiving: once a centre's deadline has passed, the next opportunity is the following series. A Dubai family who builds a revision calendar around a sitting their child cannot enter loses the window they could have used. This page exists because 454 pages on this site once carried the Indian dates to UAE parents, which is the kind of error that a family acts on and nobody notices until it is too late.

The reason the search happens is worth understanding rather than dismissing. Dubai has a very large Indian-curriculum community, with Indian schools, Indian tutoring brands and a steady flow of families moving between the two countries. Content written for Indian parents ranks in UAE search results, and a family that moved from Mumbai or Bengaluru last year carries the Indian examination calendar in their heads. None of that is anyone's mistake; it is simply a mismatch that nobody in this market corrects.

So the first half of this page corrects it, and the second half gives you what you actually came for: a plan. The plan here is organised around evidence, because preparation that cannot be checked is indistinguishable from preparation that is not working. Every week should leave something behind that a parent who does not teach the subject can read: a marked script with the published scheme beside it, a raw mark with the paper reference and the date, a topic list that is shorter than last month, an error log with cleared items crossed off.

Grade movement, measured properly, is the only honest claim anybody can make about tutoring. Not a predicted grade, not a success rate, not a satisfaction figure. Two comparable papers sat under the same conditions a month apart, with their raw marks side by side, either show movement or they do not. That is what this page is built to produce, and it is also why no outcome statistic appears anywhere on it.

Sessions are delivered online, one to one, over live video with the script on a shared screen. IB Gram does not run home visits in Dubai, since that is an India-only service, and for this particular audience the online format has an extra benefit: a family moving between India and the UAE keeps the same tutor through the move, which is worth more than any single session.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Where a student is in the sequence changes what a preparation plan can achieve, and families arriving from an Indian school are frequently placed by age rather than by syllabus coverage. These are the three stages that matter.

Year 9Ages 13-14 · Year 9 · equivalent to Class 8

The year before IGCSE

The cheapest year to fix anything. Algebra fluency, scientific vocabulary and the habit of writing method out in full are built here, and all three are assumed rather than taught by the IGCSE papers. A student arriving from an Indian school mid-Year 9 usually has strong computation and no experience of a published mark scheme.

Dubai schools confirm IGCSE option choices during Year 9, so a term of support here informs a decision as well as a grade. Triple science without the algebra to carry physics is the predictable version of this going wrong, eighteen months later and much more expensively.

Year 10Ages 14-15 · Year 10 · equivalent to Class 9

IGCSE first year

Half the syllabus is untaught, so topic questions marked to the published scheme are the right work and whole papers are not. This is where the evidence habit should start: a marked question set every week, with the raw mark recorded, so that by the examination year the student already knows what the scheme pays for.

Tier decisions for Cambridge Core and Extended, or Pearson Foundation and Higher, are usually confirmed in or at the end of Year 10. A marked paper of the correct tier is better evidence for that conversation than a class test, and it is the kind of thing a school will genuinely look at.

Year 11Ages 15-16 · Year 11 · equivalent to Class 10

IGCSE examination year

Whole papers under timing, marked and reworked, with the practical or alternative-to-practical component drilled separately. The constraint is eight or nine subjects in one week, so the paper cycle has to be allocated to the two subjects where marks are most recoverable rather than spread across everything.

A UAE candidate in this year enters the June series, with November as the resit route. Mock examinations in Dubai schools usually fall in the second term, and Ramadan currently sits across the February-and-March part of the academic year, shortening school hours for several weeks.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

The grid below names, for each subject, the piece of evidence that shows whether preparation is working. That is a more useful thing to know than a content summary a student already has from school.

Mathematics

Cambridge 0580; Pearson 4MA1

The evidence is a marked paper with the method visible. A student who begins writing the route to the answer usually gains across every paper, and the same question re-marked a fortnight later with the method written shows the movement directly.

Physics

Cambridge 0625; Pearson 4PH1

The evidence is a results table and a graph marked against the scheme's conventions, plus a question on sources of error. On Cambridge codes the alternative-to-practical component needs no laboratory and produces the clearest week-by-week improvement of anything in the subject.

Chemistry

Cambridge 0620; Pearson 4CH1

The evidence is a marked calculation with the steps shown and an equation with state symbols included. Students arriving from an Indian school often have excellent computation and have never been asked to annotate conditions and reagents for marks.

Biology

Cambridge 0610; Pearson 4BI1

The evidence is a data-based question marked against the accepted wording. This is the subject where a student can self-mark honestly once shown how, which makes a monthly audit the sensible purchase rather than a weekly block.

First Language English

Cambridge 0500; Pearson 4EA1

The evidence is two versions of the same directed writing task a fortnight apart, with the scheme beside both. Structural improvement in audience, form and purpose is visible between drafts in a way that reading model answers never shows.

English as a Second Language

Cambridge 0510 and 0511

A different qualification from First Language English, with comprehension and functional writing. Confirm which one is on the entry form first, because this is one of the commonest mismatches in Dubai households and it costs a grade.

Additional Mathematics

Cambridge 0606; Pearson 4PM1

Frequently taken by students heading for mathematics-heavy A-Levels or Higher Level IB. Tutor coverage is thinner here than in core mathematics, so the evidence to ask for early is a marked paper rather than a reassuring conversation.

Business Studies and Economics

Cambridge 0450 and 0455; Pearson 4BS1 and 4EC1

The evidence is an extended answer that names the firm or economy in the stem and ends with a judgement. Both are patterns, and four marked questions a fortnight apart make the change visible on the page.

Geography and History

Cambridge 0460 and 0470; Pearson 4GE1 and 4HI1

The evidence is a source question marked on structure and a case study answer containing place names and figures. Structure improves quickly with marking; content is a memory task the student can carry alone.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three formats, all online, each defined by the evidence it produces. If a format cannot tell you what will exist at the end of a month, it is not a plan.

Entry check and baseline

A short first engagement that settles board, syllabus code, tier and series from the entry form, then has the student sit one whole paper of that exact specification under timing. The tutor marks it to the published scheme and classifies every lost mark. For a family who arrived here from Indian-curriculum content, this is the session that prevents a wasted term.

  • Board, code, tier and series confirmed in writing
  • One correct-specification paper sat under real timing
  • Lost marks classified as content, command term, method or time
  • A short written note you can take to the school

Weekly sessions with a marked artefact

One session a week in one or two subjects, each producing a marked script, a raw mark and an updated topic list. The weekly rhythm exists for the record it leaves rather than for the attendance, so a week that produces no artefact is a week to question rather than to accept.

  • A marked artefact every week, dated and kept by you
  • Raw marks logged with paper reference and conditions
  • Topic list shortened item by item, never rewritten
  • Monthly comparison of the first and latest raw marks

Component block with a before and after

Four sessions on one narrow component, bracketed by a marked attempt at the start and a comparable marked attempt at the end. The point of the bracket is that the result is unambiguous: either the raw mark on that component moved or it did not, and both answers are useful.

  • One component, four sessions, a fixed end date
  • Marked attempt before and after, same conditions
  • The two raw marks reported side by side
  • No rolling commitment once the block closes

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai

01

The series question, settled

Cambridge International runs IGCSE and O Level examinations in a June series and a November series, with Primary and Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests in March, May and October. The additional sitting that generates this search is offered by Cambridge to candidates in India only, so it is not a route available to a candidate entered through a centre in the UAE. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE is available in a May/June window and a November window.

The practical consequence is a planning one. A family building a revision calendar around dates that belong to India will aim at a sitting their child cannot enter, and will discover the mismatch at the point when the correct entry deadline has already closed. Entry deadlines are administered by the exam centre, usually the school, and fall months before the papers, so the cost of this particular error is a full series rather than a few weeks.

Cambridge adds a second detail that no competitor in this market mentions. Every exam centre is allocated to one of six administrative zones, each with its own version of the timetable, and the board states that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong zone's timetable. For a family already working from the wrong country's calendar, checking the live official timetable for the centre's own zone is the obvious next step.

The table sets out what is actually available to whom. Read it against your child's entry form rather than against the school's website, because the entry form is the document the board acts on.

Why this search happens in Dubai, and why it is nobody's mistake

  • Indian programmes are 26 per cent of Dubai's private school students
  • UK programmes are 37 per cent, so both calendars circulate locally
  • Content written for India ranks in UAE results without saying so
  • Four facts from the entry form settle the whole question

Dubai had 387,441 students across 227 private schools in 2024-25, offering seventeen different curricula, with Indian programmes accounting for 26 per cent of students and UK programmes 37 per cent. Those two figures explain most of this search. A very large Indian-curriculum community sits alongside a very large British-curriculum one, families move between the two, and a household can easily contain a student on CBSE and a sibling on Cambridge IGCSE.

Search results compound it. Indian tutoring and revision sites produce a great deal of content about the additional sitting that Cambridge offers in India, that content ranks in UAE results, and nothing on the page says which country it is written for. A parent reading it has no way to know, and the sites themselves have no incentive to clarify. This page is the correction, written where the search actually happens.

Movement between the two countries is the third factor. A family that relocated from India in the last year or two carries that examination calendar in memory, and the memory is correct for where they were. Teachers who moved with them sometimes carry it too. None of this is carelessness; it is a reasonable assumption that happens to be wrong on one specific and consequential point.

The useful response is a short checklist rather than an explanation. Find the entry form. Read the board, the syllabus code, the tier and the series from it. Ask the school's exams officer for the centre's zone and its own entry deadline. Then plan. Those four facts take ten minutes to gather and they settle every scheduling question that follows.

03

The calendar that does apply, counted backwards

With the series settled, the plan becomes straightforward and can be counted backwards in blocks rather than dates, so it stays true from year to year. The entry closes months before the papers at the centre's own deadline. Mock examinations in most Dubai schools fall in the second term. The practical or alternative-to-practical component should be drilled six to eight weeks out, because it is narrow and fast. Whole-paper rehearsal belongs in the final four to six weeks.

Results are the fixed point at the other end, and here real dates can be given with a source. Pearson's June 2026 results reached centres on 19 August 2026 and students on 20 August 2026. Pearson's November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026, and its November 2026 final timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026. Those published dates are the honest basis for planning a resit route, because they show the lag.

One Dubai-specific collision belongs in the plan. Ramadan currently falls across the February-and-March part of the UAE academic year and moves roughly eleven days earlier each year, shortening school hours and changing household routines for several weeks. That period overlaps the mock window in many schools. The practical adjustments are to place timed papers on weekend mornings, hold the weekly slot after Iftar for families who are fasting, and front-load content-heavy work.

The table counts backwards with the evidence each block should produce, which is how you check that a plan is running rather than merely purchased.

04

The evidence method, week by week

A parent who does not teach the subject can still audit preparation, provided the right things are produced. The test is whether something exists at the end of each week that did not exist at the start, and whether you can look at it without an explanation. A marked script with the scheme beside it. A raw mark with the paper reference, the tier and the date. A topic list with two items crossed off. An error log with a category cleared.

The error log is the part most families have never been shown, and it is the cheapest tool in the whole plan. Four columns: paper reference, question number, category of loss, and the fix. The four categories are content not known, command term misread, method not shown, and time ran out. After three marked papers the log shows a pattern, and the pattern is almost always narrower than the student feared.

Grade movement is then measurable rather than asserted. Two comparable papers, same tier, same conditions, a month apart, with their raw marks written down. If the second is higher, something worked. If it is not, the method changes rather than the hours increasing. That single discipline removes almost every argument a family has about whether tutoring is helping, because the question stops being a matter of opinion.

The table lists the artefact for each session type so you can ask for the right thing. Progress reports are easy to write and impossible to check; marked work is the opposite, which is why the record rather than the report is what this plan produces.

Where marks go for students who arrived from an Indian curriculum

This group has a characteristic profile on a marked script, and recognising it saves weeks. Computation is usually strong, often stronger than the local average, and content knowledge is broad. What is missing is the mark scheme. A student taught to arrive at correct answers efficiently has frequently never been shown that the scheme pays for a visible route, which means a page of correct answers can score well below its apparent quality.

The second characteristic loss is command terms. Indian board papers and Cambridge or Pearson papers use different question registers, and a student answering by instinct produces competent prose at the wrong depth: a full explanation where one exact point was wanted, or a description where a judgement was required. The published command term list fixes this quickly, and it transfers across every subject at once.

The third is the practical component, which is often entirely new. On Cambridge science codes the alternative-to-practical paper asks for results tables with units in the headings, instruments read to the correct precision, scales that fill the grid, lines of best fit, and specific sources of error. None of that is science knowledge and none of it appears in most students' prior experience, which makes it the single highest-return component for this group.

The fourth is genuine syllabus coverage, and it has to be separated from the three above. A student placed by age on arrival may be sitting a paper covering topics their previous school taught in a different year or not at all. That is a teaching problem rather than a technique problem, it takes longer, and it should be stated plainly in the first written note rather than discovered in April.

06

What a mid-year arrival needs to settle before buying any hours

Families arriving in Dubai partway through a course spend money in the wrong order more often than anyone else, and the fix costs nothing. Settle five things first. Which board and syllabus code the new school has entered or will enter the student for. Which tier. Which series, which for a UAE candidate means June or November. The centre's own entry deadline. And whether the specification has a coursework or practical component that requires anything beyond written preparation.

The fifth of those is the one that catches people. A science specification assessed by a practical test needs laboratory access that the centre must provide, while one assessed by a written alternative can be prepared for entirely at a desk. A student who transferred late may also have missed a coursework window that their previous school had not reached, which is a question for the new school rather than for a tutor.

Only then does the academic diagnosis make sense, and it should be a single marked paper of the correct specification rather than a conversation. That paper tells you, in one sitting, which of the four loss types is dominant: mark scheme technique, command terms, the practical component, or genuine coverage gaps. The first three are weeks of work. The fourth is terms, and it needs to be known early enough to consider the November route rather than entering June regardless.

Consider that option seriously rather than dismissing it. For a student who arrived with half a syllabus untaught, a November entry buys several extra months of teaching and produces a confirmed grade in the middle of January. For some progression routes that is unacceptable and the question is closed; for others it is simply a later date. It deserves arithmetic rather than reflex.

07

Honest limits, and what to refuse

Refuse any calendar that cannot name the series your child is entered for. That is the error this page exists to correct, and it is produced by copying content written for another country. A provider who cannot tell you, in writing, which series and which zone timetable applies has not looked at your child's entry form and is planning from a template.

Refuse any offer to supply past papers and mark schemes as downloads. Those documents belong to Cambridge and Pearson. The risk to your child is practical rather than legal: privately circulated copies are frequently from superseded specifications or retyped with errors, so a student learns the wrong accepted wording and calibrates against the wrong standard.

Refuse any offer to write, complete or finish coursework in subjects that carry it. A tutor may explain a criterion, question a method, narrow a question and comment on a draft by naming the criterion and the band. A tutor may not produce the work. The consequence of breaching that falls on the student, not on whoever was paid, and in this market there are sites selling exactly that service.

Finally, treat any outcome statistic with suspicion, including on this page, where there are none. No success rate, average grade or satisfaction figure appears here because none could be produced with a sample size, a date and a method. No tutor can promise a grade on an externally marked paper. What can be produced is a record: marked scripts with raw marks and dates, a topic list that shortens, an error log that narrows, and two comparable papers showing movement or not showing it.

Where we tutor

Areas we cover across Dubai

This search comes disproportionately from the parts of Dubai with the largest Indian-curriculum communities and the most movement between schools. These notes cover what that means for scheduling and for getting the entry details right.

Al Nahda and Al Qusais

Dense, established Indian and British school provision, with households that frequently contain children on different boards. Labelling practice material by syllabus code from the start saves a surprising amount of wasted work here.

Karama, Oud Metha and Bur Dubai

Older central communities near several long-established schools. Many families here have moved between Indian and British curricula within the same household, which makes the entry-form check the first task rather than a formality.

International City and Silicon Oasis

High turnover and many mid-year arrivals, which is precisely the group most likely to be working from the wrong country's examination calendar. One session confirming board, code, tier and series pays for itself immediately.

Mirdif and Al Warqa

Long eastern commutes and large year groups. Weekday sessions finish tired, so the weekly marked artefact is better produced from a weekend block than from a 20:00 weekday hour.

Jumeirah Village Circle and Sports City

Apartment communities with a steady flow of new arrivals from India and elsewhere. Students here are often placed by age on arrival, which can leave a genuine syllabus gap that no amount of technique work addresses.

Deira and Hor Al Anz

Several long-standing schools within a short radius and a strong tuition-centre presence. The useful question to ask any local provider is the same one as anywhere: price per student per hour, and whether work is marked individually.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai

Dubai Indian-curriculum schools whose families often also sit IGCSE

Several of these schools run Indian curricula and some offer British-curriculum streams alongside, which is one reason households here contain more than one examination calendar. The board and series on the entry form, not the school's name, is what determines a plan.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Find the entry form and read four facts off it

Board, syllabus code, tier and series, for every subject. Then ask the exams officer for the centre's administrative zone and its own entry deadline. For a family who arrived at this page from Indian-curriculum content, these ten minutes are the most valuable part of the whole process.

  2. 02

Sit one paper of the exact specification

Correct board, code, tier and where possible variant, sat under full timing in one go with no notes, then self-marked against the published scheme before anyone else sees it. That self-marking is where a student first meets what the scheme actually pays for, which is usually the central discovery.

  3. 03

A free trial lesson on that script

A real session with the tutor who would continue, no card details taken beforehand, spent on the student's own marked paper. It ends with the losses classified into the four categories and a written note naming which are weeks of work and which are terms.

  4. 04

    Start the weekly record

Each week produces a marked artefact with a raw mark and a date, plus an updated topic list and error log. Keep them in one folder. The folder is the product: it is what makes the difference between a productive month and a busy one visible rather than contested.

  5. 05

Compare monthly, change the method if nothing moved

Once a month, two comparable papers sat under the same conditions have their raw marks put side by side and the topic list is counted. If neither has moved, the approach changes rather than the hours increasing. That rule is what keeps a plan honest over a whole year.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

We tell you the series is wrong before selling you anything

Cambridge offers the February and March sitting to India only, and saying so costs us the easy version of this sale. A plan aimed at a series your child cannot enter is worse than no plan, because it consumes the window that was available.

The record is the product

Marked scripts with raw marks, tiers and dates, a topic list that shortens, an error log that narrows, and bracketed before-and-after attempts on component blocks. All readable by a parent who does not teach the subject, which is the point of keeping it.

Built for the profile this search actually comes from

Students arriving from an Indian curriculum typically have strong computation, broad content and no exposure to a published mark scheme or a practical component. Naming that profile honestly in the first session is faster than discovering it over a term.

Coverage gaps separated from technique gaps

Three of the four common loss types are weeks of work; genuine syllabus coverage is terms. Stating which you are dealing with in writing allows a family to consider the November route rather than entering June and resitting anyway.

No invented numbers anywhere

Every AED figure elsewhere on this site is attributed to the provider that published it, no entry fee is quoted because none could be sourced, and no success rate or average grade appears here because neither could be produced with a sample size and a method.

Is there a February or March IGCSE series available in the UAE?+

No. Cambridge International runs IGCSE and O Level examinations in a June series and a November series, and offers the additional February and March sitting to candidates in India only. A candidate entered through a centre in the UAE therefore sits June, with November available as a second route. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs a May/June window and a November window. Cambridge also runs Checkpoint tests in March, May and October, which are a different thing from an IGCSE series and are entered by the school rather than by a family.

Why do my search results show a series that does not apply to us?+

Because a great deal of IGCSE revision content is written for Indian parents and ranks in UAE search results without saying which country it was written for. Dubai has a large Indian-curriculum community, with Indian programmes accounting for 26 per cent of private school students against 37 per cent on UK programmes, so both examination calendars circulate locally. Families who relocated recently also carry the Indian calendar in memory, where it was correct. The fix is to read the series from your child's own entry form rather than from any website.

Which series should a Dubai candidate actually be entered for?+

The June series for Cambridge, or the May/June window for Pearson, with November as the second route in both cases. The entry is submitted by the exam centre, usually the school, at the centre's own deadline, which falls months before the papers and earlier than the board's published date. Cambridge candidates should also establish which of the six administrative zones the centre sits in, because each zone has its own timetable version and the board states it cannot accept responsibility for a candidate who uses the wrong one.

My child sat Cambridge exams in India. Can they continue the same pattern here?+

The qualification continues, but the series pattern changes with the centre. A candidate now entered through a UAE centre sits the June series, with November available, and cannot be entered for the sitting Cambridge offers in India only. Carried-forward results, cashing in and subject combinations are administered by the centre, so the new school's exams officer is the right person to confirm what transfers. Do that before planning anything, because the answer determines which deadline you are working to.

We are moving to India mid-course. Does the series change for us?+

Potentially, and it is a question for the receiving school rather than for a tutoring page, because the entry is made by whichever centre the candidate is registered at. What is worth knowing in advance is that the sitting pattern available to a candidate depends on the centre's country, so a relocation can change the dates your plan is aimed at. Ask the new school's exams officer which series it will enter the candidate for and what its internal deadline is, in writing, before the move if possible.

What evidence should I see after only two weeks of preparation?+

Two marked artefacts with dates. In practice that usually means one whole paper or component sat under timing with a raw mark, a tier and a paper reference recorded, plus one marked question set. You should also have a written note classifying the lost marks into content not known, command term misread, method not shown and time ran out, and a topic list in priority order. Two weeks is too early for movement and not too early for a diagnosis, and the diagnosis is what the first fortnight is for.

How do we measure grade movement rather than guess at it?+

Two comparable papers, same board, same tier, same conditions, a month apart, with their raw marks written down beside each other. That is the whole method and it removes almost every argument a family has about whether tutoring is working. Supplement it with a topic list that should be shorter each month and an error log that should be narrowing rather than growing. If the second raw mark has not moved, the response is to change the method rather than to add hours at the same rate.

Is it worth marking papers when the examination is still months away?+

Yes, with one adjustment: early in the course, mark topic questions rather than whole papers. Half the syllabus is untaught in the first IGCSE year, so a whole paper mostly measures the gap, whereas a marked question set on taught content teaches the student what the scheme pays for. That habit is what makes the examination year cheaper, because a student who already writes method and reads command terms arrives needing pacing practice rather than a rebuild.

Do tutors visit homes in Dubai for this preparation?+

No. IB Gram does not run home visits anywhere in the UAE, since that is an India-only service, and all sessions are delivered online over live video. For this audience there is a particular benefit beyond cost: families who move between India and the UAE, in either direction, keep the same tutor through the move. Marked scripts, raw marks and the error log stay in one place rather than being abandoned with a local arrangement, which matters more than any single session does.

What does a preparation block cost in Dubai, and what should it include?+

Published Dubai rates run from roughly AED 33 to 65 an hour at the budget end, AED 150 to 300 for a qualified online subject tutor with Unitors publishing IGCSE from AED 150, and AED 200 to 450 and above for a specialist per Bestimate's 2026 rate table. Those are the providers' figures rather than ours. Whatever the rate, insist on three things in writing: whether setting and marking work between sessions is included, the number of sessions, and the end date.

My child's subject has a coursework component. Can a tutor help with the draft?+

Within a stated limit. A tutor can explain what an assessment criterion is asking for, question a method, narrow a research question and comment on a draft by naming the criterion, the band it currently sits in and what the band above requires. A tutor cannot write, rewrite or complete any part of it. The work has to be the student's own, the consequence of breaching that falls on the student rather than on whoever was paid, and written comments left in the student's own file are the honest record of what help was given.

What happens if we miss the entry deadline for the next series?+

The next opportunity is the following series, which for a Cambridge candidate means waiting from June to November or from November to June. The deadline that binds is the centre's own, not the board's published date, because the centre has to collate and submit entries. That is why the first task on this page is to ask the exams officer for the centre's internal deadline in writing. A missed deadline is the one failure in this process that no amount of preparation can repair.

Could we enter as a private candidate in India instead?+

A candidate's available sittings follow the centre they are registered at, so entering through a centre in another country is an administrative question for that centre rather than a tutoring one. Before considering it, weigh the practical costs: travel for each paper, a practical component that may need laboratory access at that centre, results released through a route you are not in daily contact with, and deadlines set by a centre you cannot visit. For most Dubai families the June series locally is the simpler and cheaper plan.

How long does it take to see movement on marked papers?+

Habit losses move fastest. Writing method, matching command terms, including units and significant figures, and putting a judgement at the end of an extended answer typically show up on a second or third marked paper, so roughly three to six weeks with weekly marked work. Pacing takes three full timed papers, because the student has to learn what six minutes of writing feels like. Genuine content gaps take terms, not weeks, and a plan that conflates the two will disappoint on a schedule nobody stated.

Which three things should a Dubai family turn down flat when buying IGCSE help?+

Three things. A calendar that cannot name the series and zone timetable your child is entered for, since that is the error this page exists to correct. An offer to supply past papers and mark schemes as downloads, because they belong to the boards and private copies are often from superseded specifications or retyped with errors. And any offer to write or finish coursework, which transfers the risk entirely to your child. Insist instead on session length, marking inclusion, session count, end date, and what the block will not reach.

Read four facts off the entry form, then start the record

The series question is the one that brought you here and it has a short answer: Cambridge offers that additional sitting to India only, and a candidate entered through a UAE centre sits June or November. So find the entry form, read the board, code, tier and series from it, and ask the exams officer for the centre's zone and its own deadline. Then have your child sit one paper of exactly that specification under timing and self-mark it. Book the free trial lesson and spend it on that script. From there, every week should leave a marked artefact with a raw mark and a date, and the folder you build is the only honest measure of whether this is working.
