IB Tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 3

Parents type "IB tutor near me" from Arabian Ranches 3 because the community sits past Al Qudra Road with no Diploma school inside it. The honest answer is that distance is the wrong filter. What decides a Diploma grade is whether the person teaching your child knows the command terms, the paper weightings and the internal assessment criteria for that exact subject. IB Gram matches that specialist and teaches live over video, on Gulf Standard Time.

  • Subject specialists matched by syllabus, not by driving distance from your villa

IB & IGCSE in Arabian Ranches 3

Why "near me" is the wrong filter for a Diploma subject

An IB tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 3 is a search with a hidden assumption inside it: that the right tutor is a person who can reach your villa. Arabian Ranches 3 sits on the far side of Al Qudra Road, in the Dubailand belt, with Emirates Road on one flank and the Dubai-Al Ain corridor on the other. Draw a twenty-minute drive radius around it in the evening and you capture a few thousand households, a handful of tuition centres on Hessa Street and whoever happens to be free between six and eight. Draw the same circle around a Diploma syllabus instead and you capture a different, much more useful set of people.

The Diploma is not one qualification. It is six courses, each with its own assessment grid, sat at Standard or Higher Level, plus three core components that are marked against published criteria. A tutor who is strong on Mathematics Analysis and Approaches Higher Level is usually not the same person who can take apart a Chemistry internal assessment or coach a Theory of Knowledge exhibition. Hiring by postcode means hiring whoever is nearest and hoping the subject match follows. It rarely does, and the cost of the mismatch is a term.

This page is written from the syllabus rather than the map. It sets out what the Diploma actually assesses, which command terms carry which marking expectations, where students in this part of Dubai lose marks in each subject group, how the internal assessment criteria are weighted letter by letter, and how past papers should be worked so that they teach something rather than confirm what a student already knows. It also states the market price for tuition in the Dubailand villa communities in AED, with the source of each band.

Lessons from IB Gram are delivered online, one to one, over live video, with a shared whiteboard and a recording your child can rewatch before a test. IB Gram does not send a tutor to a villa in Arabian Ranches 3 or anywhere else in the UAE; home visiting is a service we run only in India. That is a deliberate limit, not an apology. It is the reason a family on this side of Al Qudra Road can book a Physics Higher Level specialist for a Tuesday at seven rather than settling for a generalist who lives in Motor City.

What follows is long because the Diploma is detailed and because the pages currently ranking for this search are not. The best of them runs to roughly 2,300 words and carries no data table at all. If you only have five minutes, read the command-terms table, the internal assessment table and the AED rate table, then skip to the fourteen questions at the end.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Children in Arabian Ranches 3 sit in three different IB stages depending on which Dubailand or Nad Al Sheba school the family chose, and the tutoring each stage needs is not the same work. Here is what each stage assesses and what it means for a household out here.

PYPAges 3-12 · FS1 to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

The PYP has no external examinations. Learning is organised around transdisciplinary units of inquiry and finishes with the Grade 5 Exhibition, in which a child plans, researches and presents an inquiry of their own. Tutoring at this stage is about securing number fluency, reading stamina and written structure, because none of these are examined and a gap can sit unnoticed for years.

Fairgreen International School in The Sustainable City runs the IB continuum from primary upwards and is the closest full-continuum option to Arabian Ranches 3. Several nearby schools, including Jumeirah English Speaking School in Arabian Ranches, are primary-only, so an Arabian Ranches 3 family often changes campus at Year 6 anyway. Fixing a maths gap in Year 5 is far cheaper than discovering it in MYP 4.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

The MYP marks every subject against four criteria, A to D, each out of 8, with published descriptors. Grades are converted to a 1-7 scale by boundaries the school sets within IB guidance. MYP 5 ends with the Personal Project, assessed on planning, action and reflection. Students who have never been shown the criteria tend to write good work that scores in the middle band.

The MYP-to-Diploma step is where Arabian Ranches 3 parents most often call. MYP assessment rewards process and reflection; the Diploma rewards precision against a mark scheme. A student used to criterion-based feedback meets Paper 1 timing for the first time in DP1 and the grade drops a band before Christmas. Eight weeks of structured past-paper work in the summer between closes most of that gap.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard, graded 1-7 for a maximum of 42, plus up to 3 points from the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge matrix. The core adds a 4,000-word Extended Essay, a 1,600-word Theory of Knowledge essay with a three-object exhibition, and CAS. Most subjects also carry an internal assessment worth around a fifth of the grade.

Dubai schools enter candidates for the May session, so a DP2 student in Arabian Ranches 3 is working to internal coursework deadlines set by their own coordinator months before the papers. The IB does not publish its timetable through any channel we can verify automatically, so confirm every date with your child's DP coordinator rather than with a tutoring website, including ours.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

The CP combines at least two DP courses with a career-related study, a reflective project and a personal and professional skills course. It is offered by a small number of UAE schools and suits a student who wants Diploma-level academic subjects alongside an applied qualification. The DP courses inside it are examined exactly as they are in the full Diploma.

Few Dubailand schools run the CP, so an Arabian Ranches 3 family considering it is usually looking further afield or at the DP courses in isolation. Where a student takes two DP subjects inside a CP, the tutoring is identical to full Diploma tutoring for those subjects: same papers, same weightings, same internal assessment criteria, same command terms.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Below are the Diploma subjects Arabian Ranches 3 households request most, with what each one actually assesses and the point in it where marks reliably disappear. The description is the diagnostic; it is what a first session is spent establishing.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Five topics: number and algebra, functions, geometry and trigonometry, statistics and probability, calculus. Paper 1 is sat without a calculator, which is where most of the damage happens. Marks go on unjustified steps, missing 'hence' links and algebra done in the head. HL adds proof by induction, complex numbers and harder integration.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

The same five topic headings with a modelling and technology emphasis, and a graphic display calculator permitted in every paper. Students lose marks by quoting calculator output without the statistical reasoning behind it, misreading regression context and skipping units. HL carries matrices, graph theory and more demanding statistical testing.

Physics

HL and SL

Paper 1 splits into multiple choice and a data-analysis section; Paper 2 is short and extended response. Marks go on describing a graph instead of explaining the physics behind it, on uncertainty treatment, and on fields and circular motion. HL extends every theme rather than adding separate options.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Organised around structure and reactivity, with a data booklet available in the examination that many students never learn to use at speed. Losses cluster in organic mechanisms drawn without curly arrows, energetics sign conventions and equilibrium explanations that restate Le Chatelier rather than applying it.

Biology

HL and SL

Concept-led, with heavy demand on precise terminology and on reading unfamiliar data. Students who revise by rereading notes stall at a 4 or 5. The gain comes from writing answers to the command term and from practising the graph and table questions that carry a disproportionate share of Paper 2 marks.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagram accuracy decides the grade more than content recall. Axes mislabelled, no shift arrow, no reference to the diagram in the prose: three marks gone before the argument starts. The internal assessment is a set of commentaries on published news articles, each with a tight word allowance, and HL adds quantitative policy work.

English Language and Literature

HL and SL

Paper 1 is guided textual analysis of unseen non-literary texts, Paper 2 a comparative essay on studied works. Students lose marks by summarising rather than analysing, and by writing about theme while ignoring how the text is built. The individual oral needs a global issue narrow enough to argue in ten minutes.

Business Management

HL and SL

Tool-led: students must apply named frameworks to a case rather than describe them. Marks go on generic answers that would fit any company and on ignoring the stimulus material. HL adds depth in operations and a business research project with a strict word limit.

Theory of Knowledge

Core component

A 1,600-word essay on a prescribed title and an exhibition of three objects answering an internal assessment prompt. The common failure is writing about the topic instead of about knowledge. Coaching consists of question framing, counter-argument structure and object selection, with the writing left entirely to the student.

Extended Essay

Core component

A 4,000-word independent research piece in one subject, supervised by a teacher at school. Marks go on a question too broad to answer, a method section that cannot be replicated and an engagement record completed the week before submission. Support means question narrowing, source criticism and structural feedback only.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways of working cover almost every Diploma enquiry from this part of Dubailand. All of them run over live video on Gulf Standard Time, and all of them are one to one unless a family specifically asks for siblings to be taught together.

Weekly subject tuition through the two Diploma years

One or two fixed sessions a week in a single subject, following the school's own scheme of work so the tutor is always slightly ahead of the class. This is the pattern that moves a 4 to a 6, because it compounds. It is also the only pattern that catches a misunderstanding in the week it forms rather than at the mock.

  • Fixed slot each week, usually 6.30pm or later for bussed students
  • Tutor works from the school's sequence, not a generic syllabus order
  • Short written diagnostic every fourth session, with the error log updated

Internal assessment and core coaching

Structured sessions on an internal assessment, the Extended Essay or Theory of Knowledge, built around the published criteria. The tutor asks questions, challenges the method and marks a draft against the descriptors. The student writes every word. This is the boundary the IB sets and it is the boundary we hold.

  • Research question narrowed until it is answerable in the word allowance
  • Criterion-by-criterion feedback, written so the student can act on it alone
  • No drafting, no editing to completion, no supplied content

Pre-mock and pre-session intensives

A short block of concentrated past-paper work before January mocks or before the May session, timed around the school calendar and around Ramadan where that matters. Sessions are longer, spaced closer together, and built from the student's own marked scripts rather than from a generic revision plan.

  • Built from the last two marked papers, not from a topic list
  • Mark schemes read before answers are written, so the standard is visible
  • Can shift to post-Iftar timing during Ramadan

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Arabian Ranches 3

01

What a search for an IB tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 3 is actually asking

  • A twenty-minute evening radius around Arabian Ranches 3 holds a few thousand households, not a Diploma subject panel
  • Visiting tutors price travel into the rate; market in-home bands run well above online bands
  • Over video, a specialist two emirates away is as reachable as a neighbour in Mudon
  • Sessions are recorded, so a missed detail can be rewatched the night before a test

The literal answer: there is no Diploma school inside Arabian Ranches 3, and the tutors physically closest to the community are not selected for the subject your child is failing. An IB tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 3 is therefore a question about access, and access here is decided by subject coverage and session timing rather than by kilometres. IB Gram answers it with live one-to-one video lessons from a specialist in that exact subject and level, scheduled on Gulf Standard Time around the Dubailand school run.

Consider what a twenty-minute radius actually contains in the evening. Arabian Ranches 3 is reached from Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, with Emirates Road and Al Qudra Road feeding it. Between 5pm and 7pm those roads carry the Dubailand commute, and a tutor who lives in Motor City is not twenty minutes away at 6pm even though the map says so. Families who book a visiting tutor out here are quietly paying for travel twice: once in the rate, and once in the session that starts fifteen minutes late because Al Khail Road stopped.

Now consider the substitution. A Physics Higher Level specialist in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi or Bangalore is exactly as far away as one in Mudon when the lesson runs over video, which means the selection criterion changes from who is nearby to who knows the paper. That is the whole of the argument, and it is why every IB Gram lesson for a UAE family is online. IB Gram does not offer home visits in Dubai; home visiting is a service we run only in India, and saying so on the page is more useful than implying otherwise and disappointing a parent on the phone.

02

The Diploma as a tutor reads it: six groups, two levels, one core

A Diploma candidate takes one subject from each of six groups — studies in language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, and the arts, with a second subject from groups one to five permitted instead of an art. Three are taken at Higher Level and three at Standard. Each is graded 1 to 7, giving a maximum of 42 subject points, and the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge matrix contributes up to 3 more for a ceiling of 45.

The level difference is content, not polish. An SL course is built on 150 teaching hours and an HL course on 240. Those ninety extra hours are additional syllabus, longer papers and, in several subjects, an extra paper. A parent who assumes HL means the same material taught harder will misread why their child is suddenly behind: the HL class has simply covered things the SL class never meets. This is the single most common misunderstanding in a first consultation from this community.

The core is where points are quietly won and lost. The Extended Essay is 4,000 words of independent research in one subject with a named supervisor at school. Theory of Knowledge is a 1,600-word essay on a prescribed title plus an exhibition of three objects. Both are marked against published criteria, both are submitted to internal deadlines set by your child's coordinator, and neither may be written by anyone other than the student. A tutor's job on the core is to interrogate the question and the method, then hand the writing back.

Command terms: the part of the mark scheme nobody is taught

Every IB question opens with a command term, and every command term has an assessment objective attached to it. A student who answers 'explain' with a description has written something true and scored nothing. This is the cheapest grade in the Diploma to recover, because it costs no new content: it is a reading habit, and eight weeks of deliberate practice fixes it. It is also almost never taught explicitly, because class time goes on syllabus coverage.

The diagnosis is quick. Take a marked Paper 2 and highlight the command term in each question the student lost marks on. The pattern is usually one of two things: the student answered a lower-order term when a higher-order one was asked, or they answered the right term but stopped before the mark scheme did. 'Evaluate' without a judgement, 'justify' without a reason, 'compare' with two separate paragraphs and no point of contact — each of these is a specific, repeatable loss.

The table below lists the terms that cause the most damage in science, maths and individuals-and-societies papers, with what the mark scheme expects and the loss that follows when a student misreads it. Work through it with your child's own script in front of you, question by question, rather than reading it as a reference list. The terms are defined in the subject guides on ibo.org; read them there for the exact wording for your subject, because the emphasis shifts slightly between guides and a term that means one thing in Biology can carry a narrower expectation in Economics.

Where Diploma marks actually go missing, subject by subject

  • Maths AA: method marks lost to mental algebra on the non-calculator paper
  • Maths AI: calculator output quoted without the statistical reasoning that justifies it
  • Physics: gradients calculated correctly, then not interpreted; uncertainties ignored
  • Chemistry: mechanisms without curly arrows, equilibrium answers that restate the rule
  • Biology: imprecise terminology in extended response; unfamiliar data left unread
  • Economics and Business: diagrams and frameworks present but never applied to the case

Grades do not fall evenly across a paper. In almost every Diploma subject the losses concentrate in two or three identifiable places, and a tutor who knows where they are can diagnose a script in a single session. This is the difference between a specialist and a capable graduate: both can do the maths, but only one can look at a lost mark and name the habit that caused it.

In Mathematics Analysis and Approaches the non-calculator paper is the hinge. Students who have done all their practice with a graphic display calculator cannot manipulate surds and logarithms at speed, and they lose method marks for steps done mentally. In Physics the loss is uncertainty and graph interpretation: a candidate who can calculate a gradient but cannot say what it represents forfeits the explanation marks that carry the band. In Chemistry it is organic mechanisms and the sign conventions in energetics.

In the humanities the pattern inverts: content is rarely the problem, structure is. Economics candidates lose marks on diagrams that are drawn but never referenced in the prose. English candidates write about what a text says instead of how it works. Business Management candidates apply a framework in the abstract rather than to the stimulus company. None of these is a knowledge gap, which is why rereading notes does not move the grade and marked past-paper work does. A single session spent reading two marked scripts against the published scheme will usually identify every one of them by name, and that list is what the first month of tutoring should be built around.

05

Internal assessment, criterion by criterion and mark by mark

Most Diploma subjects carry an internal assessment worth around a fifth of the final grade, marked by the teacher against published criteria and moderated by the IB. Because it is coursework, it is the most controllable component on the whole programme — and because it is coursework, it is where academic-honesty rules bite hardest. A student who knows the criterion letters and their mark allocations is working to a visible target. One who does not is guessing.

The criteria are not interchangeable between subjects. A Mathematics exploration is marked out of 20 across five criteria, with the mathematics itself carrying the largest share and personal engagement and reflection carrying three marks each. The science investigation is marked out of 24 across four criteria of six marks each, which means evaluation is worth exactly as much as data analysis — a distribution that surprises most students, who spend their time on the practical and their last evening on the evaluation.

A tutor's role here is bounded and worth stating plainly. The tutor may help narrow a research question, question a method, point to a criterion the draft does not yet address and explain what the descriptor means. The tutor may not write, rewrite, edit to completion or supply content. IB Gram does not produce assessed work for students, and a tutor who offers to is putting the candidate at risk of a malpractice finding that no grade is worth. Ask any tutor you hire, here or elsewhere, where they draw that line before the first session.

Past papers, worked so that they teach instead of confirm

  • Read the mark scheme first on new topics; sit blind only in the final weeks
  • Six questions on one topic beats one paper across six topics, until March
  • Keep an error log with a cause, not a score, for every lost mark
  • Get papers from the school, which holds the licensed access; we do not supply them

Most students use past papers as a thermometer. They sit one, score what they always score, feel briefly worse and move on. Used properly a past paper is the single most efficient teaching tool in the Diploma, and the difference is entirely in the order of operations. Read the mark scheme for a question before answering it, not after. A student who has seen how the marks are allocated writes a different answer, and the habit transfers to questions they have never seen.

The second change is to stop sitting whole papers for most of the term. Whole papers measure; question sets teach. Pick the six questions on one topic across six sessions, work them under time, then mark them against the scheme and write one line in an error log naming the cause of each lost mark. After four weeks that log, not the scores, is the tutoring plan. Nearly every student's log collapses into three or four recurring causes, and those are fixable in a term.

Sourcing matters too, and here the honest answer is a limit. IB Gram does not host or supply IB, Cambridge or Pearson papers, mark schemes, grade-boundary tables or subject guides. Those are the boards' copyright and your child's school holds the licensed access. Ask the subject teacher or the DP coordinator for the papers, work from the official subject guides on ibo.org, and treat any website offering a free library of recent IB papers with real caution.

What IB tuition costs around the Dubailand villa belt, in AED

No competitor page ranking for this search publishes an AED figure. Three of the six pages audited in October 2026 publish no price at all, and the two that do quote US dollars, which is not the currency a Dubai family transacts in. The bands below are market rates collected from published competitor pricing and from Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table. They are what the market charges, not an IB Gram price list.

Read them with the Dubailand geography in mind. In-home rates sit above online rates for a structural reason: the visiting tutor is paid for travel, and from Arabian Ranches 3 that travel is substantial in the evening. Bestimate puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to 350, with home tutors quoting up to AED 500, while online qualified subject tutors sit in the AED 150 to 300 range. The difference is not teaching quality. It is a car on Al Qudra Road at 6pm.

For context on the household budget, KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that private school fees in Dubai would not rise for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package. Tuition is therefore the variable line in an Arabian Ranches 3 education budget this year. For what IB Gram itself charges, ask for a consultation and a trial session; we publish the market, not a rate card, because the rate depends on subject, level and how close the session is to the May papers.

Booking from Arabian Ranches 3, including what happens when no specialist is free

  • Send the subject, level, school and last marked script; the script is read before the first call
  • A trial session runs before any block of lessons is booked
  • Where UAE coverage is thin, we say so and name the non-UAE alternative up front
  • Ask any private tutor in the UAE whether they hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit

The process is short. You send the subject, the level, the school and the last marked piece of work; we read the script before the call rather than after it; a specialist is proposed with their subject background stated; a trial session runs before a block is booked. Nothing in that sequence requires anybody to drive anywhere, which is why a 7pm Tuesday slot is actually a 7pm Tuesday slot.

Sometimes the answer is that nobody suitable is free. Niche Higher Level combinations — Further Mathematics, a less commonly taught group 2 language, Music, some Design Technology work — have thin coverage inside the UAE, and when they do we say so rather than placing a generalist and hoping. The alternative we offer is a specialist outside the UAE teaching on Gulf Standard Time, disclosed in advance, with the time-zone implication stated before you commit. No competitor page in this cluster discloses a coverage limit at all.

One legal point worth knowing before you hire anyone, in or out of this community. Private tutoring in the UAE is permitted by MoHRE work permit under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023. The permit is granted free of charge for two years, and the MoHRE service page lists a two-working-day completion time with applications made through the MoHRE app, website or e-services. Those tutoring without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule is published, so treat any figure you read online with caution. Ask any tutor you hire whether they hold the permit.

Where we tutor

Nearby areas we cover around Arabian Ranches 3

Arabian Ranches 3 sits inside a ring of villa communities whose children are spread across a dozen schools and three curricula. Each neighbourhood below sends its students somewhere slightly different, and that changes which subjects come up in a tutoring enquiry.

Arabian Ranches

The original Emaar community next door, served by a primary campus of Jumeirah English Speaking School. Enquiries from here are mostly Year 5 and 6 maths and English, placed with an eye on which secondary school the family is applying to next.

Arabian Ranches 2

Ranches Primary School sits inside it, so the pattern repeats: strong primary provision, a secondary decision at Year 6, and a cluster of MYP and IGCSE enquiries once that decision is made and the commute lengthens.

Dubai Hills Estate

Closer to Al Khail Road and to a wider choice of secondary schools, which means Diploma enquiries arrive earlier here — often DP1 students who met Paper 1 timing in October and want help before the January mocks.

Motor City and Dubai Sports City

Apartment and townhouse stock with British-curriculum schools on the doorstep, so most enquiries are IGCSE rather than Diploma. The Diploma calls that do come in are usually from families who chose a school further east in Dubailand.

DAMAC Hills and DAMAC Hills 2

Further out along the Dubai-Al Ain corridor, where the evening commute decides everything. A 4pm session is not realistic for a child bussed in from Al Barsha South; 6.30pm and later is what actually works, which is a scheduling argument for video.

Town Square and Mudon

Young families, heavy primary and lower-secondary demand, and a growing number of MYP 4 and 5 students whose criterion grades have plateaued. These are the enquiries where showing a child the actual descriptors changes the grade fastest.

Remraam

South View School sits here, and the drive from Arabian Ranches 3 is short by Dubailand standards. Enquiries skew towards Year 10 and 11 exam preparation, with science practical skills coming up more often than in the villa communities to the north.

The Sustainable City

Home to Fairgreen International School, the nearest full IB continuum campus. Families here tend to ask about MYP criteria and the PYP Exhibition rather than about examination technique, because their children meet external papers later than their British-curriculum neighbours.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Arabian Ranches 3

The inner Dubailand ring Arabian Ranches 3 children attend

These are the campuses within a reasonable school-run of Arabian Ranches 3. Several are primary-only, which is why so many families in this community change school at Year 6 and then face a longer drive for secondary. KHDA inspects every one of them annually and publishes the report; read the subject-level detail rather than only the headline band.

  • Jumeirah English Speaking School, Arabian Ranches
  • Ranches Primary School, Arabian Ranches 2
  • Fairgreen International School, The Sustainable City
  • GEMS Metropole School, Motor City
  • Victory Heights Primary School, Dubai Sports City
  • South View School, Remraam

The secondary and Diploma campuses families drive to

Once a child reaches Year 7 the realistic set widens to Nad Al Sheba, The Villa and Al Barsha South. The drive is why evening tutoring in this community starts late. Check each school's current KHDA listing for the programmes it is licensed to run, because provision changes between intakes.

  • Kent College Dubai, Nad Al Sheba
  • GEMS FirstPoint School, The Villa
  • Dunecrest American School, Dubailand
  • Nord Anglia International School Dubai, Al Barsha South
  • Dubai Heights Academy, Al Barsha South
  • Repton Al Barsha

Schools are named as context for the area around Arabian Ranches 3. No affiliation, partnership or endorsement is implied, and students we support attend them as pupils of those schools.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the script, not just the subject

The fastest diagnostic is your child's last marked paper or internal assessment draft. Tell us the subject, the level, the school and what the teacher's comment said. A photograph of two marked pages tells a subject specialist more about where the marks are going than a thirty-minute conversation about how the term has gone.

  2. 02

Match by syllabus and level, then by availability

We match on the exact course — Analysis and Approaches Higher Level, not 'maths' — and on the assessment your child is closest to. Only then do we look at the calendar. The subject background of the proposed tutor is stated plainly, including what they have taught and at which level, so you can judge the fit yourself.

  3. 03

Run a trial session and read the summary

A trial session happens before any block is booked. Afterwards you get a written summary naming the two or three habits causing the lost marks and what the first month will target. If the match is wrong, say so and we propose a different tutor rather than asking you to persevere with one that is not working.

  4. 04

Fix the weekly slot around the Dubailand school run

Sessions in this community mostly work at 6.30pm or later, because children bussed to Nad Al Sheba, The Villa or Al Barsha South are not home and fed before then. The slot is fixed weekly so it becomes routine, and it can move to post-Iftar timing during Ramadan without losing the sequence.

  5. 05

Review against the mark scheme every fourth session

Every fourth session is a short timed piece marked against the official scheme, with the error log updated and sent to you. The measure is not a predicted grade; it is whether the three named habits are still costing marks. When one stops appearing, the plan moves to the next thing on the log.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Matched on the course code, not on the postcode

A specialist is selected for the exact course and level your child sits, which is a different question from who lives nearest Arabian Ranches 3. Over video the geography stops mattering and the syllabus starts to, which is the whole reason UAE delivery is online rather than a compromise we are apologising for.

The academic-honesty line is written down and held

Internal assessments, Extended Essays and Theory of Knowledge essays are coached, questioned and marked against the criteria. They are never written, rewritten or edited to completion by a tutor. One operator in this market sells completed internal assessments; that is a malpractice trigger for the student and we will not imitate it.

Prices on the page, with the source of each band

The AED bands above are attributed to the competitor or rate survey that published them, with the month they were collected. Three of six pages ranking for this search publish no price at all. A parent should be able to see the market before they talk to anybody, including us.

Coverage limits disclosed before you commit

Where no UAE-based specialist covers a niche Higher Level subject, we say so and offer a specialist elsewhere teaching on Gulf Standard Time, named in advance. No page in this cluster discloses a coverage limit; several route UAE parents to a foreign phone number without mentioning where the tutor sits.

Regulators explained, never claimed

KHDA inspects Dubai private schools, ADEK does Abu Dhabi, SPEA does Sharjah, and the Ministry of Education covers Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. We explain what each one does and link to it. IB Gram holds no regulator or board accreditation, and no tutor on this site is ever described as carrying a regulator's approval.

Scheduling built for the Dubailand evening

Session times assume a long school run, a late dinner and a sibling in a different year group. Slots run into the evening, sessions are recorded for rewatching, and timing shifts during Ramadan and exam fortnight rather than being cancelled and lost.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Arabian Ranches 3: your questions answered

Is there any Diploma school inside Arabian Ranches 3, or do we have to look further out?+

Arabian Ranches 3 has no school on the community itself, Diploma or otherwise. Families here use the inner Dubailand ring — Jumeirah English Speaking School in Arabian Ranches, Ranches Primary in Arabian Ranches 2, Fairgreen International in The Sustainable City, GEMS Metropole in Motor City, Victory Heights in Dubai Sports City and South View in Remraam — and then widen to Nad Al Sheba, The Villa and Al Barsha South for secondary. Check each school's current KHDA listing for the programmes it is licensed to offer, because provision changes between intakes and a school's website is not always current.

Why does hiring an IB tutor by distance from our villa go wrong so often?+

Because distance selects for availability rather than subject. The Diploma is six separate courses with six separate mark schemes, and the person who can diagnose a lost mark in Chemistry Higher Level is usually not the person who can do it in Mathematics Analysis and Approaches. A twenty-minute evening radius around Arabian Ranches 3 contains a few thousand households and no subject panel. Selecting on the course code instead gives you a specialist, and over live video that specialist is as reachable as a neighbour in Mudon.

Can a tutor come to our villa in Arabian Ranches 3 for Diploma lessons?+

No. IB Gram does not offer home visits in Dubai or anywhere else in the UAE; home visiting is a service we run only in India. Every UAE lesson is one to one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, with a shared whiteboard and a recording your child can rewatch. The market does offer visiting tutors, at AED 180 to 350 according to Bestimate's 2026 Dubai rate table and up to AED 500 from independent tutors, with travel from this part of Dubailand priced inside that rate.

What is the real difference between a Standard Level and a Higher Level course?+

Content, and the hours to deliver it. An SL course is built on 150 teaching hours, an HL course on 240. Those extra ninety hours are additional syllabus rather than the same material taught more intensively, and in several subjects they bring an extra paper: Mathematics adds Paper 3, English Language and Literature adds the HL essay. A student struggling in an HL class is often not behind on the shared content at all — they are meeting syllabus their SL classmates never see.

How many points does my child actually need, and where do the last three come from?+

Six subjects graded 1 to 7 give a maximum of 42 points. The final three come from a matrix combining the Extended Essay grade with the Theory of Knowledge grade, for a ceiling of 45. The Diploma is awarded at 24 points subject to conditions on individual grades and on completing the core, which your child's coordinator will confirm. University offers in the UAE and abroad are quoted in total points with subject-specific requirements attached, so check the exact HL grades a target course asks for before fixing a revision plan.

My child understands the content but keeps losing marks. What is usually causing that?+

Almost always the command term. Every IB question opens with one, each has an assessment objective behind it, and answering 'explain' with a description scores nothing even when everything written is true. Take a marked Paper 2, highlight the command term on every question that lost marks, and the pattern appears within ten minutes. It is the cheapest recovery in the Diploma because it needs no new content — just deliberate practice against the definitions published in the subject guides.

How are the marks split inside a science internal assessment?+

The scientific investigation in Physics, Chemistry and Biology is worth 20% of the final grade and is marked out of 24 across four criteria of six marks each: research design, data analysis, conclusion and evaluation. Evaluation therefore carries exactly as much weight as data analysis, which surprises most students, because the practical work gets weeks and the evaluation gets one evening. Knowing the split changes how the time is spent, and that is usually worth more than any single piece of subject teaching.

Exactly what can a tutor do on a Mathematics exploration without breaking the rules?+

A tutor can test whether the topic is broad enough to sustain course-level mathematics, check that the mathematics used matches the level, explain what each criterion descriptor means, and mark a draft against those descriptors so the student knows which criterion is weak. A tutor cannot write any part of it, cannot rewrite passages, cannot edit it to completion and cannot supply the mathematics. The exploration is marked out of 20 across five criteria, and the writing must be the student's own throughout.

Who should supply the IB past papers and mark schemes our child practises on?+

From your child's school. Schools hold licensed access to IB, Cambridge and Pearson material, and the DP coordinator or subject teacher can release papers and mark schemes appropriately. IB Gram does not host, supply or distribute papers, mark schemes, grade-boundary tables or subject guides, because those are the boards' copyright. Use the official subject guides on ibo.org for syllabus detail, and treat any site offering a free library of recent IB papers with real caution — much of that material is hosted without permission.

What time can lessons realistically start for a child bussed home to this community?+

For most families here, 6.30pm or later. A child travelling back from Nad Al Sheba, The Villa or Al Barsha South is not home, changed and fed before six, and a session that starts while a student is still eating teaches very little. Because lessons run over video there is no additional travel to absorb at either end, so a 6.30pm start is a 6.30pm start. Weekend morning slots work well for internal assessment and Extended Essay sessions, which need longer blocks.

Do private tutors in the UAE need a permit, and how do we check?+

Yes. Private tutoring is permitted through a MoHRE private tuition work permit introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023. It is granted free of charge for two years, the MoHRE service page lists a two-working-day completion time, and applications go through the MoHRE app, website or e-services. Eligible applicants include registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. Ask any tutor directly whether they hold it; those operating without one face penalties under the applicable laws.

Is it worth starting tuition in DP1 or should we wait until the final year?+

DP1 is where the cheap gains are. The content taught in the first year reappears in the final papers, the internal assessment is usually started in DP1, and the habits that cost marks — mental algebra, unreferenced diagrams, uncertainty ignored — are easier to change before they have been rehearsed for eighteen months. Families who start in the final term of DP2 are paying for a rescue rather than a build, and the realistic target narrows accordingly. No tutor can promise a particular outcome at any point in the programme.

Can one tutor take two of my child's Diploma subjects?+

Sometimes, and it should be checked rather than assumed. Mathematics Analysis and Approaches with Physics is a common and genuine pairing, because the mathematical technique overlaps. Chemistry with Biology is less often a real pairing than it looks, because the extended-response demands differ. We would rather tell you that two specialists are needed than place one tutor across two subjects for convenience, and the subject background of each proposed tutor is stated so you can judge the overlap yourself.

Our Higher Level subject is an unusual one and nobody local teaches it. Then what?+

We say so. Coverage inside the UAE is thin for some Higher Level combinations, including Further Mathematics, less commonly taught group 2 languages and parts of Design Technology. Rather than place a generalist, we offer a specialist based outside the UAE teaching on Gulf Standard Time, named and disclosed before you commit, with the time-zone implication stated. No competitor page in this cluster discloses a coverage limit, and several route UAE parents to a foreign number without saying where the tutor sits.

Do Arabic and Islamic Education still have to be studied alongside the Diploma?+

Arabic, Islamic Education and social and moral studies are mandatory in Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, and KHDA's requirements were to be implemented from the start of the 2025-26 academic year. KHDA also requires separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, with combined classes prohibited. Instructional time is calculated on a 40-minute lesson unit. Support for these subjects is a separate stream from Diploma subject tuition, and material must follow the approved content.

Start with the script, not the search radius

If your child is in the Diploma and the grade is not moving, the useful next step is not finding someone who lives near Arabian Ranches 3. It is putting the last marked paper in front of a person who teaches that exact course and level, and asking them to name the three habits costing the marks. Send the subject, the level, the school and a photograph of two marked pages. We read it before the call, propose a specialist with their subject background stated, and run a trial session before any block is booked. Lessons are live one-to-one video on Gulf Standard Time, scheduled around the Dubailand school run.
