IB Tutor near me in Al Jaddaf

Typing "IB tutor near me in Al Jaddaf" is usually the start of a two-year financial decision that nobody has costed. The Diploma runs across Years 12 and 13, carries internally assessed components in every subject and three points in the core, and families end up buying hours at the most expensive moment instead of the most useful one. This page costs the whole plan, names where a point is cheapest to gain, and delivers lessons one-to-one online on Gulf Standard Time.

  • A two-year plan costed against published market bands, each attributed to its source
  • Lessons are live online one-to-one; IB Gram makes no UAE home visits

IB & IGCSE in Al Jaddaf

The Diploma is a two-year purchase, so cost it that way

Most families in Al Jaddaf buy IB tutoring reactively. A grade slips in the first term of Year 12, support is bought weekly for that subject, and nobody asks what the next twenty-two months will cost or where in those months the money does most work. By the spring of Year 13 the household has often spent several times the figure it imagined, because the expensive hours were bought at the point of maximum panic rather than the point of maximum return.

The structure of the Diploma makes the spending pattern predictable, which means it can be planned. Six subjects, normally three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, deliver forty-two of the forty-five points at a maximum of seven each. The remaining three come from the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge together. Every subject carries an internally assessed component with its own published criteria. And predicted grades, which university offers rest on, are produced by the school from the school's own evidence partway through the second year.

That last fact is where most of the wasted money sits. A plan that peaks in the spring of Year 13, ahead of the external session, arrives after the predictions have already been made. A plan that peaks earlier, around the school's internal assessments and the Extended Essay deadline, does the same work for the same money and also affects the offers. Nobody explains this at a parents' evening and it changes the whole shape of a budget.

On prices, the published market bands are the right frame because they are per subject and per month. Bestimate's estimates for a weekly one-hour session run roughly AED 240 to AED 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to AED 1,200 in the middle, and AED 1,000 to AED 2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support. Hourly figures behind them: budget online tutoring from AED 33 to AED 52 at Tutopiya and AED 45 to AED 65 at EdFlik, qualified online at AED 150 to AED 300 with Unitors listing IB from AED 200, specialists at AED 200 to AED 450 and above with TutorChase at AED 270, and BartyED at AED 650. All of those belong to the providers named and were read in October 2026.

In-home visiting rates in Dubai run from AED 180 to AED 350 on Bestimate's table and from AED 200 to AED 500 from home-tutor providers. IB Gram does not send tutors to homes in Al Jaddaf or anywhere else in the UAE; tuition for UAE families is one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, and home visiting is a service we operate only in India. On a page about cost that limit is worth stating up front, because removing travel removes a premium and also removes the constraint that your specialist must live within a drive of Dubai Healthcare City.

What follows costs the two years stage by stage, ranks subjects by how expensive they are to support and why, identifies where a single Diploma point is cheapest to gain, and sets out the scheduling and timing decisions that change the total without changing the hourly rate.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

An Al Jaddaf family buying IB support is at one of four stages, and the cost per useful outcome differs sharply between them. These are the stages we cover.

DP1Ages 16-17 · Year 12

Diploma Year 12

Six subjects begin, Theory of Knowledge starts, and the Extended Essay question is chosen towards the end of the year. Content arrives fast and timed-paper technique is usually the weakest thing a student brings from the Middle Years Programme or IGCSE. The internally assessed components are introduced here and started in most subjects.

This is the cheapest year to buy effectively and the year families most often skip. A short diagnostic block costing a handful of hours identifies whether the problem is content, timing or written method, and fixing timing or method in Year 12 is a fraction of the cost of fixing it in Year 13 with predictions pending. Al Jaddaf's short commutes make an early weekday slot realistic, which raises the usable fraction of each paid hour.

DP2Ages 17-18 · Year 13, first half

Diploma Year 13 before predictions

Internal assessments are completed and moderated, the Extended Essay is finished, Theory of Knowledge is submitted, and the school assembles the evidence from which predicted grades are produced. University applications depend on those predictions.

The highest-return window in the whole Diploma and the one most families under-buy. Money spent here affects both the final grade and the offers, because the same work feeds the school's evidence base. Specialist rates of AED 200 to AED 450 and above are more defensible in this window than in the final term, where the predictions have already been issued and only the examination remains.

DP2Ages 18 · Year 13, second half

Diploma Year 13 final term

Content is complete and the work is timed-paper technique, past papers marked against published schemes, and Paper 3 practice at Higher Level in mathematics. Nothing internally assessed remains to influence, so the whole return is on examination performance.

This is the most expensive window in the market because demand across Dubai peaks simultaneously, and it is where the specialist pool thins fastest. Booking the slot earlier costs the same and secures a better match, which is the one free improvement available. UAE schools sit the main May session; no IB date is published here, because the IB's own site blocks automated checking and your school coordinator holds the calendar.

COREAges 16-19 · Across both years

The core: EE, TOK and CAS

The Extended Essay is a 4,000-word independent research essay. Theory of Knowledge is an essay on a prescribed title limited to 1,600 words plus an exhibition of three objects with a commentary limited to 950 words. Creativity, Activity, Service is not graded but is required for the Diploma to be awarded.

Three points sit here, and they are the cheapest three points on the board to protect. Two hours spent narrowing an Extended Essay research question in Year 12 does more than twenty hours of editing in Year 13. A tutor may question a research question, explain a criterion and comment on the student's own draft; a tutor may not produce the essay, restructure it or supply the argument.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Subjects differ in how expensive they are to support, and the reasons are structural rather than arbitrary. These are the ones Al Jaddaf families buy most, with the cost driver named.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL

Higher Level

The most expensive subject to support in this market, because the specialist pool is thinnest and Paper 3 plus the Exploration together carry forty per cent of the grade. Paper 3 cannot be revised by topic, so it needs calendar room rather than extra hours.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Cheaper to support than Analysis and Approaches at the same level, because the pool of tutors comfortable with modelling and statistics is wider. The Exploration carries the same twenty per cent and the same five criteria, so the core cost is unchanged.

Physics

HL and SL

Expensive at Higher Level and moderate at Standard. The internally assessed investigation needs uncertainty analysis taught properly, which is a narrow skill, and most lost marks are in evaluation rather than in physics.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Similar cost profile to Physics. Organic chemistry and energetics drive most requests, and the investigation is marked on exploration, analysis, evaluation and communication, so a thin evaluation section costs more than a modest experiment does.

Biology

HL and SL

The cheapest of the three sciences to support, because the content is wide rather than technically narrow and the budget tier can genuinely help with recall discipline. The investigation and data-based questions are where a specialist earns the difference.

Economics

HL and SL

Moderate cost with a high-return component: the portfolio of commentaries on published articles. Students lose marks by summarising an article rather than analysing it with a correctly drawn and labelled diagram, which is a few sessions of work rather than a term.

Business Management

HL and SL

Inexpensive to support relative to the sciences. Marks come from application to a real organisation, so the teachable skill is anchoring theory to the named firm in the stem, and the Higher Level research project needs scope control more than content.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Moderate cost and often under-bought. Paper 1 guided analysis and the individual oral both reward analysing how choices create effect rather than describing content, and that shift is teachable in a short block.

Theory of Knowledge

Core

The cheapest point on the board to protect. One session taking a prescribed title apart clause by clause prevents the commonest failure, which is answering an adjacent question well. Essay limit 1,600 words, exhibition commentary 950.

The Extended Essay

Core

Cheap if bought early and expensive if bought late. A research question too broad to answer in 4,000 words is the dominant failure, and it is visible and fixable at the question stage months before the word count becomes the problem.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways Al Jaddaf families buy Diploma support, all delivered online one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time. The format should follow the stage of the two years rather than the level of worry.

Year 12 diagnostic block

Four to six sessions early in the Diploma to establish whether the problem is content, timing or written method. The cheapest intervention in the whole programme, because a technique problem found in Year 12 costs a fraction of the same problem found in Year 13 with predictions pending.

  • One timed paper marked against the published scheme first
  • A stated number of sessions agreed before the first one
  • Ends at the school's next internal assessment
  • Produces a written note naming what to watch for a year ahead

Internal assessment and core coaching

Focused work on the internally assessed component and on the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, timed to the school's internal deadlines rather than the external session. This is the highest-return spend available, because the same work moves both the final grade and the predicted grades.

  • Scope and research-question work before any drafting begins
  • Criterion-by-criterion feedback on the student's own draft
  • Never writing, restructuring to a standard or supplying argument
  • A session note recording whose work was in front of us

Final-term paper technique

Timed papers, command terms and Paper 3 practice at Higher Level mathematics in the last stretch. The most expensive window because the whole Dubai market buys at once, so booking earlier costs the same and gets a better match.

  • Past papers on the exact subject and level, marked to the scheme
  • Command term work using the published glossary
  • Paper 3 read for its scaffolding before being attempted
  • A shortening topic list rather than a syllabus review

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Al Jaddaf

01

A two-year Diploma support plan, costed stage by stage

Here is the plan a family in Al Jaddaf can actually budget, built from the published market bands rather than from invented figures. The principle is that spending should be uneven and front-loaded relative to the school's internal calendar, not relative to the external session. The expensive window is the final term and it is also the window with the lowest marginal return, because by then the internally assessed components are closed and the predictions are issued.

The first stage is a short diagnostic block in Year 12, four to six sessions, at the qualified tier rather than the specialist one. Its purpose is to establish whether the problem is content, timing or written method. That answer is worth more than the sessions cost, because it determines everything afterwards, and the three answers have different and non-interchangeable solutions. Families who skip this stage buy a year of weekly support aimed at whichever cause felt most likely.

The second stage runs through the first half of Year 13, around the internal assessments and the core deadlines. This is where specialist rates are defensible, because the work simultaneously affects the final grade and the evidence from which predicted grades are produced. It is also where most families under-buy, having spent their budget on routine weekly support in Year 12 that addressed a cause nobody had identified.

The third stage is the final term, and the honest advice is to buy less of it than instinct suggests and to book it earlier than feels necessary. Content is complete; the work is timed papers and command terms. The slot booked in the autumn costs the same as the slot booked in panic and comes with a better match, because the specialist pool in Dubai thins sharply when every school's cohort reaches the same point at once.

02

Where a Diploma point is cheapest to gain

Forty-five points, and they are not equally priced. Some are expensive because the specialist pool is thin and the component is technically demanding. Others are cheap because a single session on a misunderstanding fixes something that was costing marks across a whole component. A family working to a budget should buy the cheap points first, and almost nobody does, because the cheap ones are not where the anxiety is.

The cheapest are in the core. Three points sit on the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge combination, and both components fail in predictable ways. The Extended Essay fails on question scope, visible months in advance. The Theory of Knowledge essay fails by answering an adjacent question rather than the prescribed title as written. One or two sessions on each, early, protect three points for the price of a few hours at the qualified tier. No subject offers that ratio.

The next cheapest are command terms and evaluation technique, and they are cheap because they transfer. The IB's command terms are published and tiered: state, describe, explain, analyse, evaluate, discuss. A student who describes when asked to evaluate has written something true and unmarkable, and the same error is costing marks in every subject simultaneously. One session on the glossary with three past questions improves six subjects at once. Evaluation sections in the sciences behave the same way.

The expensive points are concentrated in Higher Level mathematics and the Higher Level sciences, where Paper 3 and technically demanding internal assessments meet a thin specialist pool. Those are worth paying specialist rates for. The mistake is paying specialist rates across six subjects while the three cheapest points on the board go unprotected, which is the single most common budgeting error we see from Al Jaddaf families.

The timing trap: predicted grades come before the exams

  • Predicted grades come from school evidence partway through Year 13
  • Internal assessments are the evidence base, not practice
  • Ask for the internal assessment calendar and the predicted-grade policy; both are free
  • No IB dates appear here, because none could be verified from the IB itself

This is the structural fact that costs Al Jaddaf families the most money and is explained the least. Predicted grades are produced by the school, from the school's own evidence, partway through Year 13. University offers rest on them. The external examination happens afterwards. So a tutoring plan designed to peak just before the external session has, by definition, arrived after the decision that determines where the student can apply.

The consequence is that the school's internal assessments are not practice. They are the evidence base. A December paper treated as a mock by the student and by the family is being treated as data by the school. That reframing changes when support is worth buying: earlier, around internal assessments and core deadlines, rather than later around revision. It is the same money spent for two outcomes instead of one.

It also changes what to ask the school for. Request the internal assessment calendar, the internal deadlines for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, and the school's own policy on how predicted grades are formed. Those three documents are free, they exist, and they let a family place spending where it does double duty. Without them, a plan is built from the external session date, which is the wrong anchor.

One honest qualification. We publish no IB session or results dates anywhere on this page. The IB's own website blocks automated checking, so no date in this project has been confirmed from the IB directly, and an unverified exam date is something a family would plan a term and a budget around. UAE schools sit the main May session. Your school's IB coordinator holds the authoritative calendar, including the internal deadlines that matter more to a tutoring plan than the external ones.

04

Why "near me" costs more than it saves in Al Jaddaf

  • Published in-home rates run AED 180-500 against AED 150-300 qualified online
  • A visiting tutor's diary is built on geography, which constrains your match first
  • Replacement takes weeks locally and a week online, and that gap costs most in Year 13
  • IB Gram makes no UAE home visits; delivery is one-to-one online on Gulf Standard Time

Searching for a tutor near me in Al Jaddaf is a request for convenience, and in this market convenience is priced. Published in-home one-to-one rates run from AED 180 to AED 350 on Bestimate's table and from AED 200 to AED 500 from home-tutor providers, against AED 150 to AED 300 for a qualified tutor online. A meaningful share of that difference is a tutor's time on the roads around Dubai Healthcare City and the Creek crossings in the late afternoon.

There is a second cost that does not appear on an invoice. A visiting tutor's diary is built around geography, because they can only serve families whose homes cluster. That means your match is constrained by their route before it is constrained by your child's subject and level. For a Standard Level subject in a mainstream group that constraint is tolerable. For Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, or for a Higher Level science with a technically demanding internal assessment, it is the binding constraint, and it is invisible at the point of hiring.

The third is replacement speed, which matters most exactly when money is tightest. If a visiting arrangement ends mid-term, a local replacement takes weeks because the pool is bounded by the same geography. In the first half of Year 13, with internal assessments live and predictions pending, a three-week gap is more expensive than any difference in hourly rate. An online match can be replaced inside the same week.

IB Gram does not send tutors to homes in Al Jaddaf or anywhere else in the UAE, and home visiting is a service we operate only in India. There are real cases where a visiting tutor is the right purchase, mostly involving younger or easily distracted students who need an adult present. A Year 12 or Year 13 Diploma candidate working on an internal assessment is not one of them, and for that student the premium buys logistics rather than learning.

05

Spending that does not work, named

  • Six parallel subject arrangements usually treat one shared weakness six times
  • Buying hours before a diagnostic pays a tutor to find out what the problem is
  • Premium rates are for scarce and technically narrow work, not Standard Level review
  • Final-term hours have the lowest marginal return; book the slot early instead

Buying support in all six subjects simultaneously is the most expensive mistake available, and it is usually a response to a report with several middling grades. The Diploma's weaknesses are frequently shared rather than subject-specific: command terms, timed-paper pace, written method for an unknown marker, thin evaluation. Fixing a shared weakness once moves several subjects, and six parallel arrangements cost six times as much to achieve the same thing less well.

Buying hours before a diagnostic is the second. A student sitting at a five in three subjects may have a content gap, a timing problem or a method problem, and the three have nothing in common except the symptom. A tutor without a marked timed paper in front of them will spend the first month finding out, and the family pays for that month. One diagnostic paper marked against the published scheme costs one session and removes the guessing.

Buying the premium tier for routine work is the third. BartyED publishes AED 650 an hour and specialist bands run from AED 200 to AED 450 and above. Those rates are defensible for Higher Level mathematics Paper 3, for a scarce subject, or for a technically demanding internal assessment. They are not defensible for Standard Level content review, where a qualified tutor at AED 150 to AED 300 does the identical job, and the difference across a year is substantial.

Buying the final term heavily is the fourth, and the hardest to resist. It feels like the decisive moment and it is the window with the lowest marginal return, because the internal components are closed and the predictions are issued. The useful version of final-term spending is a slot booked in the autumn and used in the spring: same price, better match, and no scramble when the whole Dubai market reaches the same point in the same fortnight.

06

Al Jaddaf scheduling, and the usable fraction of a paid hour

  • Real unit price is the rate divided by the usable fraction of the hour
  • Al Jaddaf's short journeys often make 16:30 workable, unusually early for Dubai
  • Maths and sciences lose more to fatigue; English and humanities lose less
  • Agree Ramadan timing in advance rather than cancelling paid sessions

If the rate is fixed, the real unit price is the rate divided by the fraction of the hour that works, and that fraction falls as the evening goes on. Al Jaddaf is well placed on this measure. The district is compact, sits beside Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2, and is minutes from the Creek crossings, so a student at Swiss International Scientific School Dubai or at a Festival City school is frequently home in time for a 16:30 start. That is earlier than most Dubai neighbourhoods manage and it is worth real money across a two-year plan.

The subjects most sensitive to this are mathematics and the sciences, because holding several steps of a derivation or an uncertainty calculation in working memory degrades faster with fatigue than reading and annotating a text does. For those subjects we will recommend a shorter earlier session over a longer later one, which is less revenue and better value. For English and the individuals and societies group a later slot costs less.

For Al Jaddaf families whose children attend schools further out, in Nad Al Sheba or beyond Al Khail Road, the geographic advantage reverses into a constraint. Those students arrive home when their Al Jaddaf-schooled neighbours are already working. The answer is a weekend morning, which is the cheapest hour in real terms and also widens the choice of specialist, because the weekday window from 17:00 to 19:00 Gulf Standard Time is the busiest in the UAE tutoring day.

One more scheduling lever with a financial effect. During Ramadan the UAE school day shortens and household routines shift, and the sessions that work are usually either earlier in the day or after Iftar. Agreeing that shift in advance rather than cancelling three weeks of a paid arrangement is a straightforward saving, and it is the kind of thing a tutoring plan should state before the term it applies to.

07

Claims to discount before you compare prices

  • KHDA regulates schools; a rating judges the school and never a tutor
  • Treat a self-asserted star rating with no dated, countable reviews as decoration
  • Examiner status without evidence is a claim, not a credential
  • The MoHRE permit is free for two years, so permit cost cannot justify a rate

Part of what is quoted in this market is a claim rather than a capability, and claims are free to make. Dubai's private schools are regulated by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, described on u.ae as responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in the emirate. An inspection rating judges a school and does not transfer to a tutor. IB Gram holds no approval, accreditation, licence or partnership from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE, the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge or Pearson, and a KHDA Educational Services Permit is a specific authorisation for training institutes with premises and staff that we do not hold.

Discount self-asserted ratings too. Competitors in this market publish star ratings and review counts that contradict each other on the same page, and one shows a figure in its structured data that differs from the one visible to a reader. Fabricated review markup breaches Google's structured-data policy and, as a commercial representation in the UAE, is a consumer-protection exposure. A rating with no countable, attributable, dated reviews behind it should be treated as decoration when comparing prices.

Discount examiner claims that cannot be evidenced. Describing tutors as IB or Cambridge examiners, where current examiner status cannot be shown, is a claim rather than a credential, and using examiner status to imply access to marking, grade boundaries or paper content is worse than useless. Similarly, any statistic quoted without a sample size, a date and a method is not a number you can price.

Finally, the permit, which is the one claim you can check and which is free. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and is granted free of charge for two years, applied for through MoHRE's own Private Tutor Licensing service with no fee and a stated two working days. Tutoring without a permit attracts fines and penalties under the applicable laws; no fine schedule is published, so any amount quoted to you is unverified. A provider citing permit costs to justify a rate is citing a cost that does not exist.

08

Getting started on a plan rather than an hour

  • Send subject, level, the component in progress, its school deadline and two windows
  • One free trial lesson per student, with no payment or card details beforehand
  • Judge the match on the diagnostic note, not on how the hour felt
  • Book the scarce windows early; the price is the same and the match is better

Send four things: the subject and level you are worried about, which internally assessed component is in progress, the school's internal deadline for it, and two evening windows that genuinely work from Al Jaddaf after the school run. We match a subject specialist and run one free trial lesson in the slot you intend to keep. One trial per student, nothing charged beforehand, no card details needed to book it.

The tutor then writes a short note naming what they found and what they would do first. Judge the arrangement on that note rather than on the lesson, because a note that identifies content, timing or written method as the cause is the thing that makes the next two years affordable. A general note means nobody has diagnosed anything, and hours bought against a general note are hours spent finding out.

If no specialist is free in your window we say so, give a realistic wait, and offer the nearest honest alternative rather than placing whoever is available. Scarcity concentrates in Higher Level mathematics and sciences and in the weeks when internal deadlines cluster across Dubai schools. Booking that window early costs the same and gets a better match, and in a two-year plan it is the single largest free improvement available.

Two limits stated plainly. Nobody can promise a grade or a point total, and this page does not. And nothing here implies that tutoring is required for the Diploma to be awarded, for university admission or for UAE Ministry of Education equivalency; those are institutional and regulatory processes with their own published rules, and the authority rather than a tutoring provider is where to verify them.

Where we tutor

Al Jaddaf and its neighbours, and what each commute does to the budget

The same hourly rate buys different amounts of usable attention depending on when a student gets home. These are the districts around Al Jaddaf and what each means for a Diploma plan.

Al Jaddaf

Towers beside Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2 and the Creek, with Swiss International Scientific School Dubai inside the district. Short journeys make a 16:30 start achievable, which raises the usable fraction of each paid hour above most Dubai districts.

Culture Village

Jaddaf Waterfront next door, on the same roads and feeding the same schools. Budget behaviour is identical to Al Jaddaf, and households often share bus routes with Al Jaddaf neighbours.

Dubai Creek Harbour

Across the water with no school inside the community, so students commute further and arrive home later. The same rate therefore buys fewer usable minutes, which argues for weekend scheduling rather than for more hours.

Business Bay and Downtown Dubai

Minutes along the Creek, with no large private secondary school in either district. Many Al Jaddaf parents work here and take the free trial from an office before committing a two-year budget.

Sobha Hartland and Mohammed Bin Rashid City

North London Collegiate School Dubai and Hartland International School sit a short run south. The school-run hour on Al Khail Road pushes sessions towards 17:00 and reduces what each hour achieves.

Nad Al Sheba and Meydan

GEMS Modern Academy and neighbouring schools. The longest routine commute from Al Jaddaf, and the cluster where a weekend morning is the cheapest hour available in real terms.

Dubai Festival City

Universal American School Dubai and Deira International School across the Creek. Short in distance but exposed to one crossing, so the risk to a planned slot is a single incident.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Al Jaddaf

Al Jaddaf and the Creek crossing

Swiss International Scientific School Dubai sits inside Al Jaddaf running IB programmes, with further international provision across the Creek in Dubai Festival City. This is the shortest-commute cluster, which matters financially because an earlier session delivers more usable attention for the same rate.

  • Swiss International Scientific School Dubai
  • Universal American School Dubai
  • Deira International School
  • Dubai English Speaking College

Al Khail Road south

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Ask the school for three free documents

The internal assessment calendar, the internal deadlines for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, and the school's policy on how predicted grades are formed. All three exist, all three are free, and together they tell you where spending does double duty.

  2. 02

Buy a diagnostic before buying hours

One timed paper on the exact subject and level, marked against the published scheme. It answers whether the problem is content, timing or written method, and those three have non-interchangeable solutions. Without it, the first month of any arrangement is paid exploration.

  3. 03

Protect the three core points first

An Extended Essay question answerable in 4,000 words, and a Theory of Knowledge prescribed title read as written. Two to three sessions and one to two sessions respectively, early, at the qualified tier. No subject on the board offers that ratio of points to hours.

  4. 04

    Spend heaviest before the predictions

The first half of Year 13, around internal assessments and core deadlines, is where specialist rates are defensible, because the same work moves the final grade and the evidence from which predicted grades are produced. Most families under-buy here and over-buy later.

  5. 05

Book the final-term slot in the autumn

The price is identical and the match is better, because the specialist pool thins sharply when every Dubai cohort reaches the same point in the same fortnight. This is the only free improvement available in the whole process, and it requires a decision rather than money.

  6. 06

Review against a specific mark, then stop

At the school's next internal assessment, ask whether the targeted weakness moved and what evidence shows it. If nobody can point to a mark, the block ends rather than renewing. That discipline prevents most of the money wasted across a two-year Diploma.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

We cost the two years, not the hour

The Diploma is a twenty-two-month purchase with a predictable spending pattern, and the expensive window has the lowest marginal return. Setting that out in advance is more useful to an Al Jaddaf family than any hourly rate, and it is the thing nobody in this market publishes.

We name where not to spend

Six parallel subject arrangements for one shared weakness. Premium rates for Standard Level content review. Heavy final-term buying after the predictions are issued. Saying so costs us revenue and is the only way the recommendations we do make carry weight.

The cheap points get protected first

Three core points sit on two documents that fail in predictable ways, and a handful of qualified-tier hours protects them. Command terms transfer across all six subjects from one session. Those are bought before any specialist rate is considered.

No travel premium, and no route constraint

Published in-home rates run AED 180 to AED 500 per hour, partly to recover a tutor's time on the Creek-side roads. IB Gram makes no UAE home visits, so the premium does not exist and your match is not constrained by a visiting tutor's geography.

Figures that name their source

Every AED number here belongs to the provider that published it and carries the month it was read. Three of the strongest pages in this market publish no price at all, and two quote in US dollars, a currency Dubai families do not transact in.

No unverified dates and no regulator claims

No IB session or results date appears on this page, because the IB's own site blocks automated checking. And IB Gram holds no KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, MoE, MoHRE, IB, Cambridge or Pearson approval, so nothing here rests on a claim you cannot check.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Jaddaf: your questions answered

What does two years of IB tutoring actually cost a family in Al Jaddaf?+

Counted per subject per month against published bands: roughly AED 240 to AED 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to AED 1,200 in the middle band, and AED 1,000 to AED 2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support, on Bestimate's estimates for a weekly one-hour session. The total depends far more on how many subjects and which months than on the hourly rate. A plan spending unevenly, heaviest in the first half of Year 13, costs less and achieves more than a flat weekly arrangement across both years.

Why does spending before predicted grades matter more than spending before exams?+

Because predicted grades are produced by the school from the school's own evidence partway through Year 13, and university offers rest on them. The external examination comes afterwards. A plan peaking just before the session has arrived after the decision that determines where a student can apply. Money spent around internal assessments and core deadlines does double duty: it moves the final grade and the evidence base at the same time. Ask the school for its predicted-grade policy; it is free.

Which Diploma points are cheapest to protect with tutoring?+

The three core points, by a wide margin. The Extended Essay fails predictably on question scope, which is visible months in advance and fixable in two or three conversations. The Theory of Knowledge essay fails by answering an adjacent question rather than the prescribed title as written, which one session prevents. After those, command terms: the published glossary is tiered, a student describing when asked to evaluate is losing marks in all six subjects, and one session with three past questions fixes it everywhere.

Which IB subjects are most expensive to get help with in Dubai?+

Higher Level mathematics, particularly Analysis and Approaches, and the Higher Level sciences. Two reasons compound. The specialist pool is thinnest there, so the rate reflects scarcity, and the components are technically demanding: Paper 3 plus the Exploration together carry forty per cent of an HL maths grade and Paper 3 cannot be revised by topic. Biology is usually the cheapest science to support because the content is wide rather than technically narrow, and Business Management is cheaper still.

Is it worth buying support in all six subjects at once?+

Almost never, and it is the most expensive mistake available. Several middling grades usually reflect a shared weakness rather than six subject gaps: command terms, timed-paper pace, written method for an unknown marker, or thin evaluation sections. Fixing a shared weakness once moves several subjects. Six parallel arrangements cost six times as much to achieve the same thing less well, and they also exhaust a student's evening capacity, which reduces what each session achieves.

Does a visiting tutor in Al Jaddaf cost much more than an online one?+

On published figures, yes: in-home one-to-one rates run from AED 180 to AED 350 on Bestimate's table and from AED 200 to AED 500 from home-tutor providers, against AED 150 to AED 300 for a qualified tutor online. Part of the gap is a tutor's time on the roads around Dubai Healthcare City and the Creek crossings at the school-run hour. IB Gram does not visit UAE addresses at all; tuition for UAE families is one-to-one online on Gulf Standard Time, and home visiting is an India-only service.

How early should I book a tutor for the final term before the exams?+

In the autumn, even though the sessions will not be used until the spring. The price is the same and the match is better, because every Dubai cohort reaches the revision window in the same fortnight and the specialist pool thins sharply. This is the only free improvement available in a two-year plan: it costs a decision rather than money. Families who wait until the pressure is visible pay the same rate for whoever remains available, which is not the same purchase.

Is the premium tier at AED 650 an hour ever worth it?+

In narrow cases. BartyED publishes AED 650 and specialist bands run from AED 200 to AED 450 and above. Those rates are defensible for Higher Level mathematics Paper 3, for a scarce subject combination, or for a technically demanding internal assessment where experience of what moves marks quickly has real value. They are not defensible for Standard Level content review, where a qualified tutor at AED 150 to AED 300 does the identical job, and across a year the difference is substantial.

What should I ask my child's IB school for before spending anything?+

Three documents, all free and all held by the school. The internal assessment calendar, showing when each subject's component is due. The internal deadlines for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. And the school's policy on how predicted grades are formed. Together they tell you which months matter, which is the information that makes an uneven spending plan possible. Without them, a family anchors its plan to the external session date, which is the wrong anchor.

Why does this page not list the IB exam or results dates?+

Because they could not be verified from the IB itself, whose website blocks automated checking. No IB session or results date in this project has been confirmed from the IB directly, and an unverified date is something a family would plan both a term of revision and a budget around. UAE schools sit the main May session. Your school's IB coordinator holds the authoritative calendar, and the internal deadlines they also hold matter more to a tutoring plan than the external dates do.

Does Al Jaddaf's location make tutoring cheaper in practice?+

In real terms, yes, and the mechanism is session timing rather than price. The district is compact and minutes from the Creek crossings, so a student at a school inside Al Jaddaf or across in Dubai Festival City is often home for a 16:30 start. The real unit price of an hour is the rate divided by the usable fraction of it, and that fraction falls as the evening goes on. Mathematics and the sciences lose more to fatigue than reading subjects do, so an earlier slot is worth money.

Can a tutor help with the Extended Essay without crossing the line?+

Yes, within a boundary we state before starting. A tutor may help narrow a research question so it can be answered in 4,000 words, explain what a criterion rewards, ask questions that expose a weak argument, and comment on the student's own draft. A tutor may not produce the essay, restructure it to a standard, or supply the argument. The school supervisor remains the supervisor. Providers in this market sell completed assessments outright, and the malpractice consequence falls on the candidate.

Should I trust a tutoring company's star rating when comparing cost?+

Only where the reviews are countable, attributable and dated. Competitors in this market publish ratings that contradict each other on the same page, and one shows a figure in its structured data that differs from what a reader sees. Fabricated review markup breaches Google's structured-data policy and, as a commercial representation in the UAE, is a consumer-protection exposure. Treat an unevidenced rating as decoration. The same applies to any statistic quoted without a sample size, a date and a method behind it.

Does the UAE tutoring permit add cost that explains a higher rate?+

No. The MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years, and MoHRE's own Private Tutor Licensing service lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time. Eligible applicants include registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. A provider citing permit costs to justify a rate is citing a cost that does not exist. No fine schedule is published, so any quoted fine is unverified.

How do I know when to stop paying for tutoring?+

At the school's next internal assessment, ask whether the targeted weakness moved and what evidence shows it. If the tutor can name the weakness and point to a mark that shifted, continue while there is more to gain. If the answer is improved confidence with no measurable change, the block ends rather than renewing, because hours bought against an undiagnosed problem do not become effective with repetition. One timed paper marked to the published scheme, before and after, is the cheapest evaluation available.

Cost the plan, protect the cheap points, then book

If you are searching for an IB tutor near me in Al Jaddaf, the useful first move is not a price comparison. Ask the school for the internal assessment calendar, the core deadlines and the predicted-grade policy, then protect the three core points before paying any specialist rate. Send us the subject and level, the component in progress, its school deadline and two evening windows that work after the Al Jaddaf school run. We will match a specialist, run one free trial lesson in the slot you intend to keep, and the tutor's diagnostic note is what to judge us on. Lessons are one-to-one and online on Gulf Standard Time.
