IB and IGCSE tutors for Dubai Investments Park families

IB and IGCSE tutors in Dubai Investments Park are hired by three very different kinds of household: Green Community villa families with children at the IB school on their doorstep, apartment families in the DIP residential blocks whose children travel to Jebel Ali or Al Furjan, and families who moved here specifically because the fee-to-space arithmetic worked. All three ask about price first, and almost nobody publishes one. This page does, with sources. Lessons are one-to-one over live video.

  • What each price point buys, and what it costs you, set out side by side
  • No grade promises and no self-asserted star ratings anywhere on this site

IB & IGCSE in Dubai Investments Park

Three kinds of household, one question asked first: what does it cost?

Dubai Investments Park is not one place. It runs from Green Community's shaded low-rise villas through residential blocks and labour accommodation to warehousing and light industry, with Expo Road on one side and Jebel Ali on the other. The households that ask us for tutoring here are correspondingly varied, and they are unusually direct about money. In a market where three of the six best-ranking pages for these searches publish no price at all, and the two that do quote in dollars, that directness deserves a straight answer.

So the structure of this page is unusual. It leads with rates in dirhams, broken down by programme and level, with every band traced back to whoever published it. It then sets tutoring against school fees, because tutoring is a marginal cost on top of a large fixed one and the decision is always made against that backdrop. Then it sets out what you give up at each price point, because the honest answer to whether a group class is good value is that it depends entirely on what you were hoping the hour would do.

The second half of the page is about the households themselves. A Green Community family with a child at the IB school inside the community has a different problem from an apartment family in DIP 2 whose child is bussed to Jebel Ali and gets home at five. The first is usually choosing between Higher Level subjects and worrying about an Internal Assessment. The second is often fitting one hour a week into a crowded evening and wanting it to count. Both are legitimate, and neither is served by a page that says contact us for pricing.

What is not here is a price list for IB Gram. We quote after a consultation and a trial lesson, with the terms written down, because a six-week push before IGCSE papers and a two-year Diploma plan across two Higher Level subjects are different products with different costs. What is here is the market band each of those sits inside, so that you can recognise a quote that is out of line in either direction. A quote well under the budget band usually means a tutor without the subject depth; one well over usually means a brand premium.

A last thing worth saying on a page about money. There is no price at which a grade becomes purchasable. This page makes no promise about any outcome, publishes no satisfaction percentage, carries no star rating, and names no school as a client or partner. Several pages competing for these searches do all four, and one sells finished Internal Assessments outright, which is malpractice with the consequence falling on the student. Spending more does not change any of that.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Cost scales with level rather than with subject, which is the single most useful thing to understand before budgeting. The notes below set out what each programme actually demands of a tutoring hour, and therefore why the bands move.

PYPAges 3-12 · Pre-K to Year 6

IB Primary Years Programme

Inquiry-led, with reporting written against approaches to learning rather than percentages. The useful work at this stage is reading fluency, number sense and the habit of explaining reasoning aloud. Sessions are short, because attention rather than content is the limiting factor, and that keeps the hourly cost at the lower end of every band.

Green Community households with children at the IB school inside the community generally need very little here, and when they do it is reading or early number. Families in the DIP residential blocks whose children travel further often ask for primary support in English, where the gap is written expression rather than conversation.

IGCSEAges 14-16 · Years 10-11

Cambridge and Pearson IGCSE

Two years, eight or nine subjects, with Cambridge subjects tiered Core or Extended and Pearson structured by paper. Codes differ and are not interchangeable: Cambridge 0580, 0620, 0625 and 0610 against Pearson 4MA1, 4CH1, 4PH1 and 4BI1. Extended-tier work sits in a higher rate band than Core because the teaching demands more subject depth.

This is where most of the enquiries from this part of Dubai land, and where budget decisions bite hardest, because the exam year coincides with the point at which a family is often also paying for a sibling's school place. Two sessions a week across two subjects for a full Year 11 is a real number and worth modelling before committing.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level, with Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Internal Assessments are marked against named criteria and carry a substantial share of most grades. Higher Level teaching requires genuine specialism, which is why the specialist band sits well above the general qualified-tutor band in every published rate card.

A two-year Diploma plan is the largest tutoring commitment most families here will consider, and it is the one where modelling the whole cost in advance changes decisions. Some families conclude that one Higher Level subject supported properly across two years beats three subjects supported thinly for one.

COREAges 16-19 · Across both Diploma years

Internal Assessment, Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge support

Bought as blocks rather than weekly hours, usually four to six sessions attached to a deadline. The work is process coaching: criterion reading, topic feasibility, questioning a draft, referencing. It sits in the specialist band because it requires somebody who knows the criteria, and it is never group work.

Blocks are the most cost-efficient tutoring most Diploma families buy, because they are finite, attached to a real deadline and aimed at a component with a published mark allocation. They are also the area where the market contains outright malpractice, so what the block does and does not include should be in writing.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

The subjects below are the ones families in this part of Dubai most often choose to spend their hour on, with a note on what that hour realistically achieves in each.

Mathematics (IGCSE)

Core and Extended, 0580 and 4MA1

The best single-hour investment in most Year 10 and 11 households, because fluency gains compound and transfer into the sciences. Weekly short timed drills marked for working rather than answers move marks faster than long explanatory sessions.

Physics

IB HL and SL, IGCSE 0625 and 4PH1

Narrow and diagnosable. At IGCSE the losses cluster in electricity and the practical-skills paper rather than across the subject, which means a short block aimed at two topics can be better value than an open-ended weekly arrangement.

Chemistry

IB HL and SL, IGCSE 0620 and 4CH1

Moles and electrolysis at IGCSE; energetics and organic mechanisms at Diploma. A great deal of the lost mark comes from calculations written without working, so partial credit is unavailable. That is cheap to fix and expensive to leave.

Biology

IB HL and SL, IGCSE 0610 and 4BI1

Content-heavy and therefore tempting to tutor at length, which is usually poor value. The gains sit in structuring six-mark explain answers to the mark scheme shape, which is a technique block rather than a term of teaching.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

IB HL and SL

Higher Level sits firmly in the specialist band and justifies it. Paper 3 is an unstructured investigative paper, and the skill it tests, sustaining an argument in writing, is not something a general maths tutor reliably teaches.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

IB HL and SL

Statistics, modelling and calculator work throughout. Students who chose it to avoid algebra find inference harder than expected, and the exploration needs genuine statistical judgement rather than more calculations.

English as a Second Language and English First Language

IGCSE 0510 and 0500

The hour with the widest spillover, because every other subject is assessed through written English. For a household buying one hour a week, this is frequently the correct answer even when another subject has the lower grade.

Economics and Business Management

IB HL and SL, IGCSE 0455 and 0450

Evaluation and diagram accuracy decide the marks. A knowledgeable answer with no judgement in it is the standard failure, and correcting it is a technique job that works well in a short block before a mock.

Computer Science

IB HL and SL, IGCSE 0478

Pseudocode discipline and trace tables at IGCSE; data structures and the solution-development project at Diploma. Marks go missing in documentation rather than in code, which students consistently underestimate.

Arabic and Islamic Education

KHDA mandatory stream

Required in every Dubai private school whatever the licensed curriculum, with separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs. Support must follow the school's own scheme, because the Ministry restricts different or additional content without prior permission.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

The three arrangements below differ mainly in cost per week rather than in method. Picking between them is a budget decision with an academic consequence, and it is worth making deliberately.

One hour a week, one subject

The arrangement most households in this district actually buy. It works when the hour is spent on marked work rather than on fresh teaching, and when thirty minutes of independent practice happens between sessions. Without that practice the hour becomes the only work being done and the return collapses, which is a method problem rather than a budget one.

  • Work submitted a day ahead and marked before the lesson
  • One finishable task set each week and checked the next
  • Subject chosen for spillover, not only for the lowest grade
  • Cheapest arrangement that reliably moves a grade

Deadline block for coursework

Four to six sessions attached to an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay or Personal Project deadline, then finished. Blocks are finite, aimed at a component with a published mark allocation, and therefore easy to budget. They are also the most cost-efficient tutoring most Diploma families buy, because the marks are concentrated.

  • Fixed number of sessions with a defined end date
  • Criterion-by-criterion reading of the student's own draft
  • Topic feasibility challenged in the first session, not the last
  • Scope written down before the block begins

Two subjects in one evening

Consecutive slots for one child across two subjects, or for two children at different levels. Because nobody travels, this costs no more in logistics than a single session and avoids a second evening being given up. Several households in the DIP apartment blocks settle on this because only one evening is genuinely free.

  • Back-to-back slots, one booking and one invoice
  • Different tutors where the levels require it
  • One written summary to the parent rather than two
  • Easy to drop to a single slot during an exam week

01

What tutoring costs in Dubai, in dirhams, by programme and level

The bands below come from published rate cards read in October 2026. The tier bands themselves are sourced: budget online tutors from around AED 45 to 150, qualified subject tutors online at AED 150 to 300, in-home one-to-one visits at AED 180 to 500 including travel, IB and IGCSE specialists at AED 200 to 450 or more, and premium named tutors above that, with one provider publishing AED 650. Monthly packages advertised in the market include AED 799 for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour in-home sessions.

What the table does is map those sourced tier bands onto programme levels, which is an interpretation rather than a separate measurement, and it is labelled as such. The logic is straightforward: the level determines how much subject depth the hour requires, and subject depth is what moves a tutor from the qualified band into the specialist band. A Year 7 MYP hour and a Diploma Higher Level hour are not the same job, and no published rate card acknowledges that, which is why parents comparing quotes end up confused.

Read the table as a sanity check rather than a price list. If a quote for Higher Level Chemistry comes in at AED 90 an hour, the question is what subject depth is being supplied at that price. If it comes in at AED 700, the question is what the premium buys beyond the teaching. Both questions are reasonable to ask out loud. IB Gram quotes after a consultation and a trial lesson, with the terms in writing, because the right arrangement for a six-week push is not the right arrangement for a two-year plan.

Tutoring set against school fees, which is the real comparison

No family decides on tutoring in isolation. It is decided against a school fee already paid, and in Dubai that fee is a very large number. The emirate's private sector carried 387,441 students across 227 schools in 2024-25, and in May 2026 the regulator confirmed there would be no increase in private school fees for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package. For a household in this district, many of whom moved here on exactly that arithmetic, the freeze is the single most useful piece of budgeting news of the year.

The table sets tutoring into that context using published monthly estimates rather than our own figures. The pattern it reveals is worth noticing: a weekly budget-tier arrangement is a small fraction of a school fee, while a specialist exam-year arrangement across two subjects is not. The decision point is usually not whether to tutor but at what tier, and families frequently discover that one subject supported properly costs less than three supported thinly and does considerably more.

Two further costs deserve a line in any model. Private candidate examination entry fees are a real item for any student entering a paper outside their school's entry, and they are set by the board rather than by a tutor. And the two-year Diploma is a compound commitment: two subjects at two sessions a week across twenty-four months is a number most families have never actually added up. Adding it up before DP1 changes the plan; adding it up in DP2 changes nothing except the mood.

What you give up at each price point

A cheaper hour is not a worse hour in every respect; it is a different trade. A group class at AED 110 per student buys breadth, peers and a timetable, and it costs you the share of attention that your child specifically needs. A university-student tutor at AED 90 buys enthusiasm, recent experience of the exam and genuine patience, and it costs you depth at Higher Level, where the gap between having passed a subject and being able to teach it is widest. Neither is a scandal. Both become one if nobody names the trade.

The column worth reading is the third. A one-to-one hour gives your child the whole hour, which sounds obvious and is in fact the entire product. In a group of four, each student gets a quarter of the questioning and all of the content, which is excellent value for revision breadth and poor value for a specific recurring error. In a centre class of twelve, the content is delivered well and the individual diagnosis does not happen at all, which is also true of the school classroom the child has just left.

The fourth column is what nobody tells you. Group classes cannot work on your child's own marked script. Budget tutors frequently cannot teach the Higher Level extension topics. Premium brand tutors can, and you are also paying for the brand. In-home visits put somebody in the room, and in this corridor they also put between forty and ninety minutes of driving into the arrangement, which is either in the fee or in the narrowness of who is available. Choose the trade deliberately rather than by price alone.

The charges to confirm in writing before the first lesson

  • Is marking between sessions inside the rate or billed separately?
  • What is the cancellation position inside twenty-four hours, both ways?
  • Does the rate rise in the term before the exam session?
  • Does the quoted figure include VAT, confirmed in writing?
  • Do unused package sessions carry over or expire at month end?
  • Who is teaching, every week, and do they hold the MoHRE permit?

A published hourly rate answers less than it appears to. Four questions decide what you actually pay, and none of them is usually on the page you booked from. Is marking between sessions inside the hour or extra? What happens to a lesson cancelled inside twenty-four hours, and does the answer differ depending on who cancels? Are materials included, and if so whose materials are they? And does the rate change in the term before the exam session, which several providers quietly do.

Two more are specific to this market. Ask whether the quoted figure includes VAT, and get the answer in writing. The tax treatment of tuition fees is a matter for the Federal Tax Authority rather than for anybody selling tutoring, so the only honest statement a provider can make is whether their own quoted price is inclusive. And ask what happens to unused sessions in a monthly package at month end, because a package advertised at AED 799 for eight sessions is a different proposition if the eighth expires.

The last question is about people rather than money. Who exactly is teaching, and will it be the same person every week? Several platforms in this market match to a pool rather than to a person, which means the tutor who knows your child's recurring error in week two is not the one in week five. Ask for the individual's name, what they have taught and at what level, and whether they hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit, which is free, valid for two years and therefore reasonable to require.

05

If the budget is one hour a week, which subject gets it?

  • Default to the subject with the widest spillover, usually English or Mathematics
  • A live coursework deadline outranks spillover, until it has passed
  • A genuine untaught unit outranks both; technique cannot operate on absent knowledge
  • Lowest grade on the report is the worst single guide to where the hour goes
  • Re-decide after the next real assessment rather than every few weeks

This is the most common real question in this district and the one most pages avoid, because answering it honestly means telling some families that the subject they are worried about is not the subject to buy. The rule that works is spillover. Spend the hour where the gain transfers to other subjects, which in most households means written English or Mathematics, even when a third subject has the lower grade on the report.

Written English spills into everything, because every other subject is assessed through it. A student who writes compressed procedural answers loses marks in Biology, Economics, Geography and History simultaneously, and fixing the writing moves all four. Mathematics spills into Physics and Chemistry and into the quantitative parts of Economics and Business. Those two are the high-leverage choices, and a single weekly hour on either will usually show up in more than one subject by the second term.

The exception is a hard deadline. If an Internal Assessment is due in six weeks and the draft is weak, that block outranks the spillover argument, because the marks are concentrated, published and about to be locked in. After the deadline, go back to the spillover rule. The other exception is a genuine content hole, as opposed to a weak grade: a student who has never been taught two units cannot technique their way through them, and that gap needs closing before anything else is worth buying.

One more test is worth applying before you commit the hour. Ask your child which subject they avoid doing homework for. That answer is frequently different from the lowest grade on the report, and it is usually more diagnostic, because avoidance tracks the subject where the student has no idea what a good answer looks like. An hour spent making that visible, with a marked script on screen and the mark scheme beside it, tends to change behaviour in a way that an hour of extra content does not.

06

Who lives in Dubai Investments Park, and what each household asks for

  • Green Community: subject choice, Higher Level decisions and coursework process
  • DIP blocks and Discovery Gardens: one subject, one hour, value for money
  • Jebel Ali and Dubai South: late slots dictated by shift patterns
  • Mid-course arrivals are common here and need an audit before a weekly plan
  • The Sustainable City: small cohort, narrow Higher Level choice, more online demand

Green Community households are the most settled in the district, often long-term residents with children who have been at the same school for years, and frequently with an IB continuum school inside the community. Their enquiries are about choice and process rather than remediation: whether Higher Level Chemistry is the right call for a medicine application, whether the Extended Essay topic will sustain four thousand words, whether Maths Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation is the better route for a given degree.

The DIP residential blocks and Discovery Gardens are a different population: shorter tenancies, tighter budgets, longer school runs and a higher share of mid-course arrivals from India, Pakistan, the Philippines and Egypt. Their enquiries concentrate on one or two subjects, a single weekly hour, and value for money, and they often come with a specific, useful piece of evidence attached, because these are families who have already read the report carefully.

The third group is the Jebel Ali and Dubai South working households, where the free zone and airport shift patterns push the family evening later than the Dubai average. The constraint there is simply time of day. An arrangement that requires a lesson before six in the evening does not survive contact with a shift rota, and a tutor who has to drive cannot absorb a slot after seven. Online delivery solves a scheduling problem here rather than a preference.

None of these three groups is better served by a generic page. What they share is a preference for being told the trade-off rather than being sold the premium option, which is why this page leads with sourced bands and with what each price point gives up. The enquiry that works best from any of them is short and concrete: the school, the year, the board, the slot that exists, the budget, and one marked piece of work.

07

What no amount of tutoring money can buy

  • No outcome promise, no improvement figure, no satisfaction percentage on this site
  • No star rating, because a self-asserted one is a policy and consumer-protection risk
  • No supplied text for assessed work; the candidate carries the malpractice consequence
  • No regulator or board accreditation, and no UAE premises
  • No home visits in the UAE; home tutoring at the door is an India-only service

There is no price at which a grade becomes a purchasable item, and a page that leads with rates owes you that sentence explicitly. This site publishes no promise about any outcome, no satisfaction percentage, no improvement figure and no star rating. Competing pages in this market publish several of each, including two separate aggregate ratings on the same page with different numbers, and one that shows a rating from twenty reviews next to a claim of several thousand enrolled students. Self-asserted review markup is against Google's own structured-data policy and, as a commercial representation in the UAE, a consumer-protection exposure.

Nor can money buy assessed work legitimately. At least one page ranking for these searches sells completed Internal Assessments. Under IB rules submitting work that is not your own is malpractice, the school is obliged to report it, and the consequence falls on the candidate, who can lose the subject or the whole Diploma. The seller keeps the fee. A tutor may teach research skills, read criteria aloud, challenge a topic, question a draft and point out an unsupported conclusion. A tutor may not supply the text.

And money cannot buy accreditation we do not hold. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform. It holds no approval from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, operates no premises in the UAE, and does not send tutors to UAE homes. A tutoring business with premises and staff in Dubai needs a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, which is a specific thing issued to specific entities, and claiming it without holding it is the single most dangerous sentence available to a page like this one.

08

Starting from Dubai Investments Park

  • Send school, year, board and code, plus one marked piece of work
  • State the budget; the honest advice differs at one hour a week and at three
  • Consultation and trial lesson before any block, with the terms in writing
  • Rematch on request after a lesson or two, as a normal step
  • Late and back-to-back slots available because nobody is travelling

Send four things and the first conversation becomes useful immediately: the school, the year group, the board and syllabus code, and one marked piece of work. If the question is budget rather than diagnosis, say so and say what the budget is; it is a more productive opening than a general enquiry, because the honest advice at one hour a week is different from the advice at three, and nobody is served by pretending otherwise.

From there we identify a specialist at the right level who is free in your slot, and arrange a consultation and a trial lesson before any block is booked, with the terms written down at that point. If the match is wrong after a lesson or two, say so and we change it. If nobody suitable is free in your slot, we say that instead of offering a quiet near-match, which happens most often for narrow Higher Level combinations close to the May session and for the mandatory Arabic and Islamic Education streams.

One practical note on the evening. Because lessons are delivered one-to-one over live video, a slot at half past seven is as workable as one at half past four, and two subjects or two children can take consecutive slots in a single evening without a second journey for anybody. In a district where shift patterns and long school runs are the norm, that flexibility is usually worth more than a small difference in the hourly figure, and it is the reason we do not run an in-home service here.

Where we tutor

Nearby areas we cover around Dubai Investments Park

Within a few kilometres this district contains villa communities, apartment blocks, a sustainable development and the edge of Dubai South. Household type, not distance, is what changes the tutoring question.

Green Community

Low-rise villas and apartments around a lake, with an IB school inside the community. An IB tutor in Green Community is usually working on Higher Level subject choice or Internal Assessment process rather than on basic content gaps.

Dubai Investments Park 1

Mixed residential and commercial, with families spread across schools in DIP, Jebel Ali and Al Furjan. An IGCSE tutor in Dubai Investments Park is most often booked for Mathematics and English on a single weekly hour.

Dubai Investments Park 2

More apartment stock and longer school runs westward. Evening slots after five are the norm here, and because lessons are delivered over live video the later slot costs nothing extra in logistics.

The Sustainable City

A small, settled community with its own IB school. Requests here lean towards Diploma sciences and the Extended Essay, where the cohort is small and Higher Level subject availability can be narrow.

Al Furjan

Dense villa and townhouse development with several British-curriculum schools close by. IGCSE tuition in Al Furjan is commonly booked around the Year 10 tier decision rather than in the final term.

Discovery Gardens

Apartment living with the longest school runs in the corridor and the tightest budgets. This is where the one-hour-a-week question is asked most often, and where getting the choice of subject right matters most.

Jebel Ali and Dubai South edge

Shift patterns in the free zone and the airport district push family evenings later than the Dubai average. An IB DP tutor in Jebel Ali often works a slot after seven, which a travelling tutor could not sustain.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai Investments Park

Inside Dubai Investments Park and Green Community

Provision inside the district itself, spanning an IB continuum school and several Indian and British-curriculum schools. The IB school in Green Community is the reason this district has a higher Diploma share of enquiries than its neighbours, and the Indian-curriculum schools here generate most of the transfer questions.

Schools appear here only as local context for families choosing a tutor. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform and holds no affiliation with, endorsement from, contract with or accreditation from any school, group or regulator named on this page.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

    Say what the budget is

The useful advice at one hour a week is genuinely different from the advice at three, and a family that states the constraint gets a better plan than one that does not. We will tell you which single hour buys the most rather than quoting for everything.

  2. 02

Send one marked piece of work

A mock script or returned coursework draft shows whether marks are going on content, command terms, timing or working. That decides whether you need a weekly arrangement or a short technique block, which is a cost difference as well as an academic one.

  3. 03

    Choose the tier deliberately

The sourced market bands on this page exist so you can pick a tier with your eyes open. Higher Level sciences and coursework criteria work genuinely need the specialist band; primary homework supervision genuinely does not.

  4. 04

    Get the scope in writing

Number of sessions, what marking is included, the cancellation position, whether the rate changes before the exam session, and whether the quoted figure includes VAT. All of it before the first lesson rather than after the third.

  5. 05

Review at the next real marker

The next mock, the next coursework deadline, the next returned paper. If it has not moved, the approach or the tutor changes rather than a second subject being added in hope.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The rates are on the page

Three of the six best-ranking pages for these searches publish no price at all and the two that do quote in dollars. Every band here is in dirhams, mapped from a published source, with the month it was read stated.

The trade-offs are named

A group class is good value for breadth and poor value for a specific recurring error. A budget tutor is fine for primary homework and thin at Higher Level. Saying which is which is more useful than claiming every option suits every child.

Nothing is promised about the outcome

No grade claim, no improvement figure, no satisfaction percentage, no star rating. Every statistic on this page carries its source and date, and where no figure has been published we say so rather than estimating one.

A hard line on assessed work

Teaching, questioning and feedback on the student's own Internal Assessment, Extended Essay or Personal Project. No supplied text, ever, because the candidate carries the malpractice consequence and the seller does not.

Delivery that fits a shift rota

Lessons are one-to-one over live video, so a slot after seven in the evening is as available as one at half past four, and two subjects can run back to back in one evening without a second journey.

Limits stated out loud

No UAE premises, no regulator or board accreditation, no home visits in the UAE, and no involvement in attestation or equivalency. Where no specialist is free in your slot, we tell you rather than filling it quietly.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai Investments Park: your questions answered

How much does a private tutor cost per hour for a family in Dubai Investments Park?+

Published Dubai rate cards read in October 2026 put budget online tutors at roughly AED 45 to 150 an hour, qualified subject tutors online at AED 150 to 300, in-home one-to-one visits at AED 180 to 500 including travel, and IB or IGCSE specialists at AED 200 to 450 or more, with one provider publishing AED 650 at the premium end. Mapped onto levels, expect the qualified band for most IGCSE work and the specialist band for Diploma Higher Level and coursework process support. Those are other providers' figures, quoted as market context. IB Gram quotes after a consultation and trial lesson, in writing.

Is one-to-one tutoring worth the extra cost over a group class here?+

It depends on what the hour is meant to do. A group of two to four at roughly AED 90 to 180 per student is good value for revision breadth and for a student who works better alongside peers. It cannot work on your child's own marked script, and it cannot diagnose a recurring error, because the questioning is shared. If the problem is a specific repeated loss, such as calculations written without working or answers that describe when the question said explain, one-to-one is the only format that reaches it. If the problem is that a whole syllabus needs a second pass, a group class is defensible.

Which schools are actually inside Dubai Investments Park?+

The district and Green Community contain an IB continuum school alongside several Indian and British-curriculum schools: Greenfield International School, Dove Green Private School, Nibras International School, The Ambassador School and Bright Riders School come up most in our enquiries. Students from the DIP apartment blocks also travel to The Winchester School Jebel Ali, Sunmarke School and Safa Community School, and there is IB provision in The Sustainable City and at South View School nearby. These names are local context only. Verify any school against the regulator's own listing, and note that IB Gram has no affiliation with any of them.

Which charges should I confirm in writing before the first lesson?+

Six. Whether marking between sessions is inside the hourly rate or billed separately. What happens to a lesson cancelled inside twenty-four hours, and whether the answer differs depending on who cancels. Whether materials are included and whose they are. Whether the rate rises in the term before the exam session. Whether the quoted figure includes VAT, which only the provider can state for their own price. And whether unused sessions in a monthly package carry over or expire. Those six decide what you actually pay far more than a ten-dirham difference in the headline figure does.

If we can only afford one hour a week, which subject should get it?+

Usually the one with the widest spillover, which in most households is written English or Mathematics, even when a third subject carries the lower grade. Written English is how every other subject is assessed, so fixing compressed procedural writing moves Biology, Economics, Geography and History at once. Mathematics feeds Physics, Chemistry and the quantitative parts of Economics. Two exceptions override that: a coursework deadline inside six weeks, because those marks are about to be locked in, and a genuine untaught unit, because technique cannot operate on knowledge that is simply absent.

Are Dubai private school fees going up for 2026-27?+

No. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there would be no increase in school fees for private schools in the emirate for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package. That is the backdrop against which most tutoring budgets in this district get approved, and it is worth knowing before you plan. For context, the emirate's private sector carried 387,441 students across 227 schools in 2024-25, and the 2026-27 intake adds seven new private schools and 16,846 places.

Does a monthly tutoring package work out cheaper than hourly billing in DIP?+

Sometimes, and the deciding question is what happens to sessions you do not use. Packages advertised in the Dubai market include AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour in-home sessions. Eight sessions a month is two a week, which is a real commitment, and a package only saves money if your household actually uses all eight in a month containing a half-term, a school trip and an exam week. Ask whether unused sessions carry over, and ask what notice is required to stop. If both answers are favourable, packages are usually cheaper per hour.

Does a quoted tutoring rate include VAT?+

Ask, and get the answer in writing. The tax treatment of tuition fees in the UAE is a matter for the Federal Tax Authority rather than for anybody selling tutoring, so the only honest statement a provider can make is whether their own quoted figure is inclusive or exclusive of VAT, and whether they hold a tax registration number. Any page that asserts a general VAT position for tuition without citing the authority is telling you something it cannot support. For your own budgeting, treat an exclusive quote as five per cent higher than the number you were given.

Can two children in the same household share a session?+

If they are at the same level in the same subject, yes, and the small-group band applies at roughly AED 90 to 180 per student. If they are at different levels, sharing one hour means neither gets the hour, and the usual arrangement is two consecutive slots in the same evening instead. Because lessons are delivered over live video there is no second journey for anybody, so back-to-back slots cost nothing extra in logistics, come as one booking and produce one written summary. Several households in the DIP apartment blocks use exactly this pattern because only one evening is genuinely free.

Why does this page make no promise about my child's final grade?+

Because no honest one can be made. A grade depends on the student's own work over months, on the school's teaching, on the paper that happens to be set and on grade boundaries that vary by session. Any provider promising a specific score, a specific improvement or a hundred per cent of anything is selling certainty that does not exist, and in the UAE a commercial representation of that kind is also a consumer-protection exposure. What can be promised is a named tutor at a named level, work marked against the official wording, and a plan measured against a real assessment.

Should I trust a tutoring company's star rating?+

Only if the reviews are real, countable and attributable, and only if the number in the page markup matches the number you can see. In this market that is frequently not the case: competing pages show two different aggregate ratings on the same page, and one shows five out of five from twenty reviews next to a claim of several thousand enrolled students. Self-asserted review markup is against Google's own structured-data policy and carries a manual-action risk, which is why this site publishes no rating at all. Ask instead for the tutor's name, what they have taught, at what level, and for how long.

How many sessions should we book to begin with?+

One, then decide. A trial lesson plus a consultation tells you more than a committed block does, and it costs less to walk away from. After that, four sessions is a sensible first commitment for a weekly arrangement, because it is long enough to see whether independent work is actually happening between lessons and short enough to stop without argument. For coursework, buy the block that matches the deadline, usually four to six sessions, with the scope written down beforehand. Avoid open-ended arrangements with no review point; they drift, and drifting is expensive.

Do tutoring rates rise closer to the exam session?+

Some providers do increase rates in the term before papers, and availability tightens regardless of price, which is the more important effect. In the weeks before the May session the specialists who teach narrow Higher Level combinations are the first to fill, and no amount of budget creates a free slot that does not exist. The practical response is to book earlier rather than to pay more later. Ask directly whether the quoted rate is fixed for the duration of the arrangement, and get the answer in writing, because this is one of the charges least often stated upfront.

What is the cheapest honest way to support an IGCSE student in this district?+

One weekly hour on the subject with the widest spillover, run as a marked-work cycle, with thirty protected minutes of independent practice between sessions. At the budget-to-qualified band that is roughly AED 600 to 1,200 a month on published monthly estimates. The parts that cost nothing do most of the work: closing the notes and answering from memory instead of rereading, sitting twenty minutes of every revision hour under time, marking honestly against the mark scheme wording, and keeping the phone out of the room. A household doing those four things needs less tutoring, not more.

Is a university-student tutor good enough for IB Higher Level?+

Usually not, and the permit position is separate from the competence question. University students are an eligible category for the MoHRE private tuition work permit, so they can tutor legally. What the budget band does not reliably supply is depth in the Higher Level extension topics and familiarity with how Internal Assessment criteria are actually marked, which are precisely the places Higher Level marks are won and lost. For primary and lower-secondary support, homework supervision or a confidence rebuild, a strong university student can be excellent value. For Higher Level sciences, pay for the specialist band.

Tell us the budget, and we will tell you which hour buys the most

Most families in this district are not choosing between tutoring and no tutoring. They are choosing how many hours, at which tier, in which subject, against a school fee already paid. That is a decision worth making with published numbers in front of you rather than after three enquiries that all ended in contact us for pricing. Send the school, the year, the board and one marked piece of work, say what the budget is, and we will tell you plainly which hour does the most and whether a short block would serve you better than a weekly arrangement. Lessons are one-to-one over live video, and nothing is promised about the result.
