IB Physics Tutor in Dubai Investments Park

An IB physics tutor in Dubai Investments Park is the purchase families here most often make and least often aim, because a disappointing grade looks like a knowledge problem and the marked script usually shows technique. This page prices each kind of physics support, says what it buys, and names what to refuse. Lessons are delivered live online, one to one, on Gulf Standard Time.

  • Every intervention priced as a block with a completion test

IB & IGCSE in Dubai Investments Park

In physics, the expensive purchase is usually the wrong one

Start with the journey, because in this district it sets what a physics week can actually hold. Dubai Investments Park runs along the southern corridor in two halves, DIP 1 and DIP 2, industrial and commercial plots threaded through residential enclaves including Green Community and Ritaj, with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road and the district's own Metro station towards Expo City carrying the traffic out. Two IB schools and a British-curriculum school sit inside the boundary, but most secondary students travel out of it - to Jebel Ali, Al Furjan or Dubai South - and it is the return leg that makes an unbroken hour for a full data question harder to find here than forty minutes for command-term drilling.

Physics is the subject where families here most often report spending money and seeing nothing change. The reason is a diagnostic error rather than a tutoring one. A disappointing physics grade looks like a knowledge problem, so a parent buys content teaching, and in most cases the marked script shows that the student knew the physics and failed to be paid for it. Those are different problems with wildly different costs.

The three failures that produce this pattern are all finite. Describe offered where the question said explain, which can score nothing on a paragraph of correct physics. A gradient reported without units or physical meaning, where three separate marks were available. And uncertainty ignored in a data question, forfeiting the whole uncertainty allocation. Each is three to four sessions of work with no new content involved, and each is visible in a marked script within minutes.

The fourth, specific to Higher Level, is the two-step collapse: an answer correct for two steps of a five-mark question that then stops. That one is a longer block, six to eight sessions, because sustained reasoning is built by practice rather than explained. And the fifth, the internal investigation at 20 per cent of the grade, is cheap to help with before data collection and essentially impossible to help with afterwards.

There is a scheduling dimension too, because physics work divides unevenly. Command term drills, script marking and uncertainty arithmetic are self-contained and survive a short session after a long school run. A full data question needs an unbroken hour, since the graph, the error bars and the gradient interpretation form one continuous piece of work. Higher Level extended response practice needs the longest slot of all, because the chain has to be written out whole before it is compressed.

That turns out to be convenient rather than limiting. The three cheapest and highest-value physics fixes all fit a weekday evening, and only the one long block genuinely needs a weekend morning. A household in this corridor that can offer forty minutes midweek plus one protected weekend slot can work through everything on this page in the right order.

One premise, stated plainly: IB Gram delivers one-to-one physics tuition into DIP homes as live online video sessions on Gulf Standard Time, with working shared and annotated on screen. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE; in-person home visits are a service we run only in India. For physics the shared screen is a practical gain, because a data question with a graph and three columns of uncertainties is far easier to work through when both people can annotate the same thing at once.

At a glance

  • The internal scientific investigation carries 20 per cent of the subject grade
  • Command term errors, bare gradients and ignored uncertainty are three to four session fixes
  • The Higher Level two-step collapse is a six to eight session block
  • Investigation help is cheap before data collection and futile afterwards
  • Market rates: IB specialists roughly AED 200 to 450 and above per hour
  • UAE IB schools sit the May session; confirm any date with the school's IB coordinator

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Physics support in this corridor is requested at four points, each with a different cost profile. Below, each is described by what the assessment demands and what help realistically achieves.

DP HLAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Physics, Higher Level

Additional depth across the themes and markedly longer reasoning chains in extended response work, with the internal investigation carrying 20 per cent of the grade. The characteristic failure is an answer that is correct for two steps and then stops, because the student never practised holding an argument across five marks.

Higher Level physics is the hardest specialism to cover at a specific early-evening hour anywhere in Dubai, and in a southern district the in-home version is close to unobtainable at peak times. That scarcity is itself a cost: families who wait until after mocks pay in availability rather than in dirhams.

DP SLAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Physics, Standard Level

The same thematic structure at reduced depth, with written papers including a data-analysis section and the investigation at the same proportional weight. Standard Level students often survive by answering each part of a question independently, which is the habit that caps them in the low sixes.

The common pattern here is Standard Level physics taken as a sixth subject behind two heavier Higher Levels and given the least preparation time. Four sessions on command terms and data technique usually moves it more than a term of content revision would, which makes it one of the better-value purchases available.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

MYP Sciences

Assessed against four criteria including inquiring and designing, and processing and evaluating, which are the direct ancestors of the Diploma investigation. A student who learns in Year 10 to state a hypothesis with a reason and quantify uncertainty writes a far stronger investigation two years later.

The IB schools inside DIP run the continuum, so this is available locally and almost never bought, because nothing is yet at stake. In pure cost terms it is the best value on this page: two sessions in MYP prevent a capped investigation in DP2 that no amount of later spending can recover.

BRIDGEAges 15-17 · Years 11-12

IGCSE or MYP to Diploma physics

Prior courses reward a correct statement and a correct substitution. The Diploma rewards the application of a named principle, the justification of a step and the quantification of uncertainty. The content gap is modest and the assessment gap is large, and it is the assessment gap that produces the DP1 grade fall.

A summer block of four to six sessions between Year 11 and DP1 prevents most of that fall, and in this corridor the summer has the additional advantage of carrying no school run, so nothing competes with the sessions. It is the cheapest insurance available against a lost first DP1 term.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Physics is organised here by what is assessed and what each area costs to fix, because that is the information a family actually needs before spending anything.

Motion, forces and momentum

SL and HL

Kinematics, Newton's laws, momentum and impulse. The recurring loss is an answer stating what happens to an object rather than naming the law that makes it happen, which forfeits the explanation marks even where the physics is understood.

Work, energy and power

SL and HL

Energy transfer, efficiency and power. Marks go missing when an energy statement does not specify which store the energy left and which it entered, and when efficiency is given as a ratio without saying what was wasted.

Thermal physics

SL and HL

Specific heat capacity, latent heat and the gas laws. Characteristic errors are Celsius used where kelvin is required, which invalidates a whole calculation, and heat and temperature used interchangeably in written answers.

Waves, oscillations and resonance

SL and HL, deeper at HL

Simple harmonic motion, superposition, standing waves and resonance. Phase relationships cost the most, together with diagrams drawn without the labelled features the question specified.

Electricity and magnetism

SL and HL

Circuits, fields, induction and electromagnetic effects. The underlying difficulty is circuit reasoning rather than formula recall: saying what happens to current and potential difference when one component changes requires holding the whole circuit in mind.

Fields and gravitation

SL and HL, extended at HL

Gravitational and electric fields, potential and energy, with longer derivations at Higher Level. Marks are lost in the middle of those derivations, where a student who knows the start and the end omits the two steps being examined.

Nuclear and quantum physics

SL and HL

Radioactive decay, nuclear energy and quantum phenomena. Answers go wrong on conservation statements written loosely, and on explanations that assert a result without reference to the quantisation that requires it.

Data analysis and uncertainties

SL and HL

Absolute and percentage uncertainty, propagation, error bars, lines of best and worst fit, and gradient interpretation. The most recoverable block of marks in the subject because the technique list is short and finite, and roughly three sessions of work.

Extended response technique

SL and HL

Holding a chain of reasoning across four or five marks. This is the Higher Level discriminator, it is invisible in short-answer practice, and it is the one physics problem that genuinely needs six to eight sessions rather than three.

The scientific investigation

SL and HL, 20 per cent of the grade

Internally assessed individual work marked against lettered criteria and moderated. A research question whose variables cannot be controlled or measured precisely with school equipment caps the analysis criteria before any data is collected.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three patterns, each with a price shape and a test of completion. All are live one-to-one video sessions with shared annotation, and none involves a tutor travelling to a UAE address.

Technique block, no new content

Four to six sessions aimed entirely at the gap between what the student knows and what the scheme pays for: command terms, explanation structure, uncertainty arithmetic and gradient reporting. The highest-return physics purchase available and the one families least often ask for, because it does not look like teaching.

  • Student marks their own scripts against scheme wording
  • Describe, explain, determine and deduce separated and drilled
  • Uncertainty and graph conventions practised to automaticity
  • Completion test: the student predicts the mark before it is given

Investigation design coaching, before data

Two to four sessions at the design stage of the internal investigation, which carries 20 per cent of the grade. Cheap, fast and decisive, because a question that cannot be measured with school equipment caps the analysis criteria before any reading is taken, and nothing later recovers it.

  • Research question tested against the equipment actually available
  • Uncertainty plan agreed before the laboratory session
  • Criterion wording taught so the student can self-check
  • Completion test: a design that can generate usable data

Higher Level reasoning block

Six to eight sessions on sustained reasoning across multi-part questions, built from timed extended response work with the chain written out in full and then compressed. The one genuinely long physics block, and the one that cannot be shortened, because the skill is built by repetition.

  • Long questions attempted whole, never part by part
  • Each step justified rather than assumed
  • Weekend slots used, because the work needs continuity
  • Completion test: five-mark answers completed rather than abandoned

DIP families are matched with physics teachers who read two marked scripts before proposing anything and then say how many sessions the fix should take. In physics that estimate is unusually reliable, because the common failures are finite and well understood.

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai Investments Park

01

What each kind of physics support costs and buys

This is the table a family should see before anyone quotes an hourly rate, because in physics the length of the block varies more than the rate does. Three of the five common problems are three to four session fixes; one is six to eight; one is a design conversation that takes two.

Rates next, attributed and dated October 2026 so any quote can be judged against them - but multiply each by the block length above, because that product is what you actually pay. Take the commonest fix on this page, a four-session command-term block. At Tutopiya's AED 33 to 52 an hour it is AED 132 to 208. At EdFlik's AED 45 to 65 it is AED 180 to 260. At the AED 150 to 300 per hour a qualified subject tutor charges online it is AED 600 to 1,200. Across the AED 200 to 450 and above that IB, IGCSE and A Level specialists charge it is AED 800 to 1,800 and upwards, with TutorChase at AED 270 giving AED 1,080 and BartyED at AED 650, the premium end, giving AED 2,600. In-home visits run AED 180 to 500 including travel per Bestimate's 2026 Dubai cost table, which in this corridor is largely paying for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road rather than for physics. None of these is an IB Gram price list; ours is set after the free trial.

The important column is the last one. A block with a completion test ends; a block with only an end date becomes a standing arrangement, and a standing arrangement gets reviewed when the invoice becomes uncomfortable rather than when the work is done. In physics the tests are unusually clean: the student predicts their own mark, the gradient gets its units without prompting, the five-mark answer reaches the end.

One piece of household context changes how those block prices should be read. KHDA confirmed in May 2026 that there would be no increase in Dubai private school fees for the 2026-27 academic year, under the emirate's second economic incentives package. With the largest line in an education budget held flat, tutoring becomes the main variable line in most families this year - which is an argument for buying the three-to-four-session block the marked script actually points at, rather than letting an open-ended weekly arrangement expand into the space a fee rise would otherwise have taken.

02

Where physics spending earns nothing

Four purchases reliably fail in physics, and naming them is more useful than any amount of description of what we do instead. None involves an incompetent tutor; in each case somebody is working hard and the marks are not moving.

First, content re-teaching of material the marked script shows the student already knows. This is the default purchase because it is what tutoring looks like, and in physics it is usually aimed at the wrong thing entirely. One script read before booking prevents it, and the reading takes ten minutes.

Second, help with the internal investigation after the data has been collected. At that point the design has already set the ceiling on the analysis and evaluation criteria, and no amount of writing support changes it. Paying a specialist rate for investigation support in the final fortnight is paying for reassurance rather than for marks.

Third, more multiple-choice practice because it is easy to set. A student weak on extended response gets faster at something they were already adequate at while the component actually costing marks goes untouched. Fourth, a premium or examiner-led rate for routine practice supervision, where the task requires company rather than expertise. Match the rate to the task and most households spend less overall.

A fifth failure is specific to households already short of hours: supporting three sciences at once because all three feel urgent. Three simultaneous plans with no sequencing produce three shallow efforts and no completed fix, at three times the cost. One component, verified on a timed paper, then the next, is cheaper and faster.

And a sixth, which costs availability rather than money: waiting until mock results arrive before seeking Higher Level cover. That is asking for the scarcest thing in the market at the exact moment demand peaks, and the families who get the slot they want are the ones who agreed a pattern beforehand.

03

The uncertainty list, and why it is the best value in the subject

  • Absolute and percentage uncertainty, converted fluently both ways
  • Propagation through products, quotients and powers, practised to automaticity
  • Significant figures justified by the least precise measurement
  • Error bars from the measurement, with best and worst fit lines drawn
  • Gradient reported with value, unit and physical meaning, every time

Of everything on this page, this is the clearest value for money, because the technique is finite. There is a list, the list is short, and a student who can execute it reliably stops losing those marks entirely rather than reducing the loss by some uncertain amount.

The list runs roughly as follows. Distinguish absolute from percentage uncertainty and convert between them without hesitating. Propagate correctly through addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and powers. Decide how many significant figures the data actually supports and be able to justify it. Plot with error bars that reflect the measurement rather than decorating the graph. Draw lines of best and worst fit and use the difference to estimate the uncertainty in the gradient. Report the gradient with its unit and say what it represents physically.

That is about three sessions for most students, at mid-market rates, and it pays twice over: once in every data question on every paper, and again in the internal investigation, where the same skills are assessed against the criteria and carry a share of 20 per cent of the grade. Very little else in Diploma physics has that double return.

It goes untaught for structural reasons rather than anyone's fault. It sits alongside the content in a crowded two-year course, it feels like arithmetic rather than physics, and students who are confident in physics find it tedious. That combination is precisely why it remains reliably available as recovered marks for any family willing to spend three sessions on it.

04

The investigation, costed before and after

The internal scientific investigation carries 20 per cent of the physics grade, is marked by the school against lettered criteria and is moderated by the IB. Its cost profile is unlike anything else in the subject, because help is cheap and decisive at one stage and worthless at another.

Before data collection, two to four sessions can change the ceiling of the whole piece. A tutor tests whether the research question can be measured precisely enough with the equipment a school actually has, teaches what each criterion rewards, and makes sure the uncertainty treatment is planned into the method rather than attempted afterwards. A single run per condition makes an uncertainty analysis impossible to produce later, and that is a design decision rather than a writing one.

After data collection, the position is different and should be said plainly. The design has set the ceiling on the analysis and evaluation criteria, and the remaining scope is presentation and clarity. Help at that point is worth something but it is not worth a specialist rate, and any provider implying that late investigation support can transform the mark is selling comfort.

The honesty boundary applies throughout and is not negotiable. A tutor may teach criteria, interrogate a research question, demonstrate uncertainty technique on unrelated practice data, read the student's own draft and say which criterion it fails and why. A tutor may not write, rewrite or complete any part of it. One operator researched for these pages sells completed Internal Assessments at AED 3,750; buying one is an academic honesty breach that can cost the entire Diploma, and the consequence falls on the student. The test after any session is whether your child could explain and defend every change in their own words.

05

Why Higher Level physics is scarce, and what that costs

  • Higher Level physics is the hardest Diploma specialism to cover at peak hours
  • Four causes compound: narrow specialism, concentrated demand, travel rationing, small cohorts
  • Agreeing the pattern before mocks costs nothing and secures the slot
  • Coverage limits are disclosed with a date rather than filled with a generalist
  • Where a specialist works from outside the UAE, that is stated

This is a cost that does not appear on an invoice. Higher Level physics is the hardest Diploma specialism to cover at a specific early-evening hour anywhere in Dubai, and in the southern corridor the in-home version is close to unobtainable at peak times. The scarcity has four compounding causes and every one of them bites hardest on exactly the request DIP families most often make.

The specialism is narrow: a physics teacher who can also teach uncertainty technique and extended reasoning is a smaller group than physics teachers in general. The demand is concentrated: every DP2 household in Dubai wants the same early-evening window. The supply is rationed by travel for in-home work, and DIP sits off two motorways in the south. And moderate school cohorts in this corridor mean a single staffing change creates sudden simultaneous demand from one cohort.

What this costs a family is optionality. Waiting until mock results arrive before seeking Higher Level physics support means asking for the scarcest thing at the moment demand peaks. The families who get the slot they want are those who agreed the pattern before mocks, which costs nothing and secures the time. That is a genuinely free action, and it is the single most useful piece of planning advice on this page.

When we cannot cover a request, you are told, offered the nearest workable alternative and given a realistic date for when the slot opens. Nobody general is substituted for a specialist you asked for. And where no UAE-based specialist is available, the match may be a teacher working from outside the UAE on Gulf Standard Time, which is stated rather than concealed behind a non-UAE phone number.

06

Reading the script yourself, before anyone quotes you

A family that can name the failure cannot be sold the wrong block, and naming it needs no physics expertise. Sit with the marked script, ignore the grade, and look for four patterns. This takes about fifteen minutes and is the highest-return unpaid work available.

Pattern one: a long, correct-looking answer with one or two marks. That is a command term mismatch, almost always a description where an explanation was required, and it is a three to four session fix. Pattern two: a graph question where the gradient is calculated and the mark is low. That is units and physical meaning missing, two to three sessions.

Pattern three: a data question where processing is correct and marks are still lost. That is uncertainty treatment absent, three sessions, and it is the best value in the subject because the same work pays again in the investigation. Pattern four: a five-mark question with two correct lines and then nothing. That is the Higher Level two-step collapse, and it is the one long block at six to eight sessions.

If none of those patterns appears and the losses are scattered with no structure, you are probably looking at a genuine content gap, which is a term of weekly work rather than a block. That is worth knowing honestly before you spend, and it is the one answer a provider has a commercial incentive not to give you quickly.

One practical note on doing this reading. Compare two scripts rather than one, ideally from different papers, because a single bad paper can be an off day while a pattern across two is a pattern. And look at the annotations rather than the ticks: the marker's shorthand usually names the failure directly, in almost the same words every time, which is exactly the information a tutor would otherwise charge you a session to find.

07

Fitting physics into a southern corridor week

  • Command terms, script marking and uncertainty work fit a short weekday slot
  • A full data question needs an unbroken hour
  • Higher Level extended response practice needs a weekend morning
  • Summer carries the transition block; the winter break carries component repair
  • Ramadan sessions commonly move to post-Iftar timing

Physics has an unusual scheduling property: some of its work divides neatly and some does not. That matters in a corridor where arrival home ranges from under four o'clock to past six depending on whether a child attends a school inside DIP or travels to Jebel Ali, Dubai South or further north.

Command term drills, script marking and uncertainty arithmetic are self-contained and survive a short, tired session perfectly well. A full data question needs an unbroken hour, because the graph, the error bars and the gradient interpretation form one continuous piece of work. Extended response practice at Higher Level needs the longest slot of all, because the method is to write the chain out in full and then compress it, and that cannot be done in fragments.

The convenient consequence is that the three cheapest and highest-value physics fixes all fit a weekday evening, while the one long block belongs at the weekend. A household that can offer forty minutes midweek plus one weekend morning can address everything on this page in the right order, which is a better position than it sounds.

The holidays matter disproportionately here. The summer between Year 11 and DP1 carries no school run at all and is the natural home for the transition block. The winter break sits after investigation drafts should exist and before the mock window, which makes it the one period in DP2 when a student can work on a component with no competing deadline. Sessions continue if the family travels, because nothing depends on a Dubai address, and Ramadan sessions commonly move to post-Iftar timing for the month.

08

What to verify before paying anyone

  • A published rate, or a clear statement of how it is set, in dirhams
  • A stated position on the MoHRE private tuition work permit
  • A free trial with its conditions on the same screen
  • A tutor who can estimate a block and a completion test from scripts
  • No claimed regulator or examination board approval
  • A review point tied to a school assessment, agreed in advance

Five checkable items, and a provider who answers all five plainly is telling you something real. Ask them of us as well as of anyone else.

One: a published rate, or a clear statement of how the price is set, in dirhams rather than a currency you do not transact in. Three of six researched competitor pages publish no price at all and two quote in US dollars. Two: a stated position on the MoHRE private tuition work permit, which individuals offering private lessons in the UAE need under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, which is granted free of charge for two years, and whose absence exposes the tutor to fines and penalties under the applicable laws. No fine schedule is published, so treat any quoted figure with suspicion.

Three: a free trial with any condition stated on the same screen. Four: a tutor who can estimate a block length and a completion test from two marked scripts, which in physics is a reliable test of whether they know the scheme. Five: no claimed approval from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, because an independent tutoring platform holds none and IB Gram holds none either.

A sixth item is yours rather than theirs: a review point agreed before the first session and tied to a real school event such as a mock or an investigation checkpoint. Without it, the likely outcome is not a bad tutor but an unreviewed arrangement, which is how a sensible hourly rate becomes an unreasonable annual total.

09

Starting from Dubai Investments Park

  • Send level, school, two marked scripts or the investigation draft, and a sustainable session length
  • Free trial lesson gives the failure and the estimated block length
  • An honest date when Higher Level cover is constrained
  • No grade promises, no claimed approvals, no supplied board materials

Send four things: the level, the school, the last two marked physics scripts or the current investigation draft, and the session length your household can sustain on a weekday. The free trial lesson comes before any payment and produces the two numbers that make this a financial decision rather than a hopeful one: which failure you have, and how many sessions it should take.

If the honest answer is three sessions, you will be told three sessions. If it is a term of content work, you will be told that too, which is the answer a provider has least incentive to give quickly and the one a family most needs. And if Higher Level cover is not available in your preferred slot, you will get a date rather than a substitute.

What will not be claimed. No grade promise, because nobody can honestly make one, and no claim that a particular number of sessions produces a particular grade. No suggestion that tutoring is required for Ministry of Education equivalency, university admission or school progression, which would be a false claim about a regulatory process. No regulator or board approval, no UAE office or centre, and no satisfaction statistics, because a figure without its sample, date and method is decoration.

Finally, we do not publish, reproduce or supply IB past papers, mark schemes, grade boundary tables or subject guides as downloads, because that material is the organisation's copyright and unreleased content carries a malpractice exposure. We cite the official source, link to it, and work from what your child's school legitimately provides. A provider advertising those files as a feature is distributing someone else's property.

Where we tutor

Dubai Investments Park and the corridor around it

Location affects the session hour, the in-home travel premium and, for Higher Level physics, how hard a slot is to secure at all.

Dubai Investments Park 1 and 2

Industrial and commercial plots with residential enclaves inside a large footprint. Low residential density means thin local specialist supply, and Higher Level physics is the specialism least likely to be available locally at any price.

Green Community and Ritaj

Established residential enclaves within DIP, with arrival home ranging from under four o'clock to past five depending on school and transport, which decides whether a full data question fits on a weekday.

Al Furjan

Villas and townhouses north of DIP with a Metro station and a British-curriculum school inside the community, giving shorter runs and a realistic 5.15pm start for most addresses.

Jebel Ali

Established British-curriculum schools serving the corridor, with afternoon traffic typically putting a secondary student home between 4.45pm and 5.30pm and pushing physics sessions to around 6pm.

Dubai South and Emaar South

The newest part of the corridor around Expo City, with long runs and recent schools. Senior science cohorts here are often small, so a staffing change is felt immediately and outside cover is needed quickly.

Discovery Gardens

Dense apartment living with nearly every child bussed out and long runs both ways, which pushes data-question work and full papers to the weekend.

The Sustainable City

A planned community towards Al Qudra with a school inside it and walkable access, giving the earliest achievable session starts anywhere nearby.

Dubai Production City

A mixed media and residential district north east of DIP with short runs to schools in Motor City and Sports City and a middling arrival of about 4.30pm to 5pm.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai Investments Park

Dubai Investments Park and Green Community

Two IB schools and a British-curriculum school sit inside the district. Diploma science cohorts here are moderate, and in moderate cohorts Higher and Standard Level physics are sometimes taught together, which changes what outside support has to cover.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Read the script before you price anything

Fifteen minutes with the marked paper, ignoring the grade, will usually tell you which of four patterns you have. Three of them are three to four session fixes needing no new content, which is a very different purchase from the term of teaching most families assume they need.

  2. 02

    Separate technique from content

A student who knew the physics and was not paid for it needs a technique block. A student with scattered structureless losses needs a term. These cost different amounts and look identical in a grade, so the distinction has to be made from marked work.

  3. 03

Ask for a block length and a completion test

How many sessions, and what observable thing will show it is finished. In physics the tests are unusually clean: the gradient gets its units unprompted, the uncertainty column appears before the calculation, the five-mark answer reaches the end.

  4. 04

Book Higher Level cover before mocks

Higher Level physics is the scarcest Diploma specialism at peak hours, and mock results arrive exactly when demand peaks. Agreeing the pattern in advance costs nothing and is the difference between getting the slot and getting a date.

  5. 05

Review at the investigation checkpoint or mock

Tie the review to a real school event rather than a calendar date. If the completion test is met, stopping is the recommendation, which is how a variable budget line stays variable in a year when hours are already scarce.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Priced by block, not by hour

Each physics failure carries a typical session count and an observable completion test, so the spend is finite and comparable. The commonest way physics money disappears is an arrangement nobody agreed an ending for.

The failed purchases named

Content re-teaching of known material, investigation help after data collection, more multiple choice because it is easy to set, and premium rates for practice supervision. None involves a bad tutor, which is why all four persist.

Uncertainty identified as the best value

A short finite technique list, about three sessions, that pays once in every data question and again in the investigation at 20 per cent of the grade. Very little else in the subject has that double return.

Investigation value costed by stage

Decisive before the question is fixed, useful before the laboratory session, and worth little in the final fortnight. Saying so costs us late bookings and is the honest position.

Scarcity treated as a cost

Higher Level physics is the hardest specialism to cover at peak hours, so agreeing the pattern before mocks is free and valuable. When nothing is available you get a date, not a generalist.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai Investments Park: your questions answered

Why has physics tutoring not improved our child's grade?+

Most often because it was aimed at content when the marked script showed the content was known. The three common physics failures are a description offered where the question said explain, a gradient reported without units or physical meaning, and uncertainty ignored in data questions. Each is a three to four session fix involving no new content, and each is invisible in a grade and obvious in a script. Content re-teaching is the default purchase and usually the wrong one.

Can we book in-home physics lessons at our DIP address?+

Not through IB Gram. Physics is taught one-to-one into DIP homes over live video on Gulf Standard Time, with working shared and annotated on screen, and we send no tutors to UAE addresses; in-person home visits are an India-only service for us. In this corridor the in-home option is also the most expensive and least available, since Higher Level physics is the scarcest specialism and a visiting tutor must cross two motorways at peak hour.

How many sessions should a physics problem take?+

Three of the four common problems are short. Command term errors: three to four sessions. Gradients reported without units: two to three. Uncertainty treatment absent: three. The exception is the Higher Level two-step collapse, where a five-mark answer stops after two correct lines, which takes six to eight sessions because sustained reasoning is built by repetition rather than explained. Ask any provider for the estimate and for what will show the block is done.

What is the best value physics work we can buy?+

Uncertainty and graph technique, at about three sessions. The technique list is short and finite: absolute and percentage uncertainty, propagation, significant figures, error bars, best and worst fit lines, and a gradient reported with value, unit and meaning. It pays twice over, once in every data question on every paper and again in the internal investigation, where the same skills are assessed and carry a share of 20 per cent of the grade.

Is it worth paying for investigation help in the final fortnight?+

Not at a specialist rate, and we would rather say so. By then the design has set the ceiling on the analysis and evaluation criteria, and the remaining scope is presentation and clarity. Before the research question is fixed, one or two sessions can change the ceiling of the whole piece, and before the laboratory session the uncertainty plan can still be built into the method. Any provider implying that late support transforms the mark is selling comfort.

Someone offered to write the investigation for us. Is that ever acceptable?+

No, under any circumstances. One operator researched for this market advertises completed Internal Assessments at AED 3,750, and buying one is an academic honesty breach that can cost the entire Diploma, with the consequence falling on your child rather than the seller. A tutor may teach the criteria, interrogate the research question, demonstrate technique on unrelated data and comment on your child's own draft. The test afterwards is whether your child could defend every change themselves.

Why is Higher Level physics so hard to arrange out here?+

Four reasons compound. The specialism is narrow, since a physics teacher who also teaches uncertainty technique and extended reasoning is a smaller group than physics teachers generally. Demand is concentrated into the same early-evening window across all of Dubai. In-home supply is rationed by drive time, and DIP sits off two motorways in the south. And moderate school cohorts here mean one staffing change produces sudden simultaneous demand. Agreeing a pattern before mocks is the free remedy.

Our child does lots of multiple choice practice. Is that helping?+

Probably not, if the marks are being lost on extended response. More multiple choice is easy to set and feels productive, and it improves a component the student was usually already adequate at while the expensive component goes untouched. If the script shows five-mark questions abandoned after two lines, the work needed is timed extended response written out in full and then compressed, which is slower, less satisfying and the thing that actually moves the grade.

What hourly rates should we expect to be quoted for physics?+

The market, attributed and dated October 2026: a qualified subject tutor online roughly AED 150 to 300 per hour, IB and A Level specialists AED 200 to 450 and above with TutorChase at AED 270 and BartyED at AED 650, in-home visits AED 180 to 500 including travel, and budget online provision from AED 33 to 65. Ours is set after the free trial, because the honest figure depends on which block the marked scripts show you actually need.

Can physics work be done in a forty-minute weekday session?+

Some of it, and conveniently it is the cheapest and highest-value part. Command term drills, marking a script against the scheme and uncertainty arithmetic are all self-contained and survive a short session after a long school run. A full data question needs an unbroken hour because the graph, error bars and gradient interpretation form one continuous piece. Higher Level extended response practice needs a weekend morning, since the chain must be written out whole before it is compressed.

Is Standard Level physics worth supporting as a sixth subject?+

Often yes, and briefly, which makes it decent value. The common pattern is a Standard Level physics student carrying two heavier Higher Levels who gives physics the least preparation time and then loses marks on technique rather than content. Four sessions on command terms and data handling typically moves it further than a term of content revision, because content was not the problem. The question is whether those points matter to the offer being chased.

When is the cheapest time to intervene in physics?+

Earlier than feels necessary, and the two best windows carry no school run. The summer between Year 11 and DP1 is the natural home for transition work on command terms and uncertainty, which prevents the first-term fall most families then spend a year repairing. The winter break in DP2 sits after investigation drafts should exist and before mocks, making it the only period when a student can fix one component with no competing deadline.

Do you supply IB physics past papers and mark schemes?+

No, and a provider advertising them as a feature is distributing someone else's property. IB past papers, mark schemes, grade boundary tables and subject guides are the organisation's copyright, and unreleased material carries a malpractice exposure as well. We reference them, cite the official source, link to it, and work from what your child's school legitimately provides. The subject teacher also remains the authority on exactly what this cohort sits, since the IB revises its guides.

What if the script shows no clear pattern at all?+

Then you are probably looking at a genuine content gap, which is a term of weekly work rather than a short block, and that is worth knowing before you spend. It is also the answer a provider has least commercial incentive to give you quickly, which is a reason to ask for it explicitly. A family told honestly can decide whether to commit to a term; a family not told discovers the same thing after four sessions and usually blames the tutor.

Diagnose first, then buy the block

Physics rewards diagnosis more than almost any Diploma subject, because three of its four common failures cost three or four sessions and involve no new content, while the purchase families instinctively make is a term of content teaching. Spend fifteen unpaid minutes with the marked script, find the pattern, then ask any provider for the session count and the completion test. If Higher Level cover is what you need, agree the pattern before mocks rather than after. Send us the level, the school and two marked scripts, and take the free trial lesson. Lessons run live online into your DIP home on Gulf Standard Time.
