Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives 0457 Online Tutor in Dubai

A Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives 0457 online tutor in Dubai sits in a market where published rates run from AED 33 an hour at the budget end to AED 650 for a premium named tutor, and almost no provider tells you which band they are in. This page publishes the bands with their sources, counts the hours each assessed component really needs, and shows what changes the figure in this emirate.

  • Every AED band on this page names the provider that published it
  • Hours costed per component, so a plan has an end point
  • No price list invented for IB Gram and no hidden travel charge
  • Free trial lesson first; no card details taken to book it

The price of 0457 support is a scarcity question, not a difficulty question

Global Perspectives is not a hard subject in the way Further Maths is hard. It is a hard subject to buy support for, which is a different problem and the one that shows up in the price. Across Dubai's private schools, 0457 is usually taught by one or two members of a humanities department, sometimes by whoever had timetable space, and the pool of adults in this city who have taken a full cohort through the written paper, the Individual Report and the Team Project is small. A thin supply of people who can teach something, against steady demand from Year 11 parents in February, produces exactly the rate you would expect.

That is why the quoted figure for 0457 often sits above what the same family pays for Maths or Biology support, and why a parent comparing hourly rates across subjects without understanding supply reaches the wrong conclusion. The useful comparison is not AED per hour against another subject. It is total AED against the thing that actually needs fixing, because roughly seventy per cent of the grade is submitted work and the submitted work either has a workable research question or it does not.

Dubai also has an unusually wide published spread. At the budget end, Tutopiya advertises from AED 33 to 52 an hour and EdFlik from AED 45 to 65. In the middle, Unitors quotes IGCSE tuition from AED 150 and IB from AED 200. Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to 350 and specialist exam-year support at AED 200 to 450 or more. TutorChase publishes AED 270. At the top, BartyED publishes AED 650. Those are each provider's own published numbers, read in October 2026, and the twenty-fold gap between the extremes tells you the word tutor is doing a lot of different jobs.

What you cannot find anywhere in that market is the figure most parents actually need: how many hours a 0457 problem takes to fix. Three of the six best-ranking pages in this cluster publish no price at all, and one of them asks the price in its own FAQ and then declines to answer it. The two that do quote use US dollars, a currency no Dubai family pays school fees in. So the sections below cost the work by component rather than by the hour, and name the assumptions.

On delivery, so there is no ambiguity before you read a rate table: IB Gram runs one-to-one online sessions over live video, in Gulf Standard Time. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE, and home visits are a service we run only in India. That matters to the pricing conversation because an in-home rate in this city carries an unpaid hour of driving inside it, and an online rate does not.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Where a student sits in the Cambridge or IB sequence changes the sensible spend, because the cost of a missed 0457 deadline is not the same in Year 10 as it is six weeks before a series.

Y10Ages 14-15 · Year 10

Cambridge IGCSE, first year

The cheapest point at which to buy 0457 support, because the only thing that needs fixing is technique. A handful of sessions on source evaluation and on what an evaluative paragraph looks like, spread across a term, costs a fraction of the emergency block a family buys in February and produces a better Individual Report. Few parents spend here, which is why so many spend more later.

Most Dubai British-curriculum schools start IGCSE teaching in Year 10 and set the first 0457 skills tasks within the first term. Asking the school in September for its internal submission dates, and whether Global Perspectives is compulsory or optional at that school, is the single piece of free information that determines the whole budget.

Y11Ages 15-16 · Year 11

Cambridge IGCSE, exam year

Where almost all 0457 spend happens, and where it is most expensive per mark. Two deadlines collide with mocks: the Individual Report and the Team Project reflection. A family arriving in Term 2 is typically buying four to six sessions on the report plus a short written-paper block, which at market specialist rates is a four-figure AED commitment rather than a few hundred.

Dubai mock windows usually fall in January, immediately before the heaviest coursework period, so Year 11 tutoring demand across the emirate peaks in a narrow few weeks. Specialist availability in a thin subject tightens at exactly that point, which is the practical reason rates for scarce subjects firm up closer to a series.

ASAges 16-17 · Year 12

Cambridge AS Global Perspectives and Research

The continuation for students staying with Cambridge after IGCSE. Rates for AS and A Level support sit above IGCSE across the Dubai market, and the research report is longer and harder, so a student who never learned to write evaluatively at 0457 pays twice: once for the IGCSE rescue and again at sixteen.

Several Dubai sixth forms run this alongside conventional A Levels. It is not a verified entry requirement for any UAE university route, so treat the spend as a skills investment and confirm any admissions assumption directly with the university rather than with a tutoring provider.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

IB Diploma Programme

The destination for a large share of Dubai's IGCSE cohort, and the reason 0457 spend has a return beyond the certificate. Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay assess the same two habits 0457 trains: framing a researchable question and evaluating a source. Dubai market rates for IB support run above IGCSE, so skills bought cheaply at 15 displace dearer remediation at 17.

Dubai's 2026-27 intake adds seven new private schools, three of them International Baccalaureate, alongside a 6 per cent rise in enrolment during 2025-26. More Diploma places in the emirate means more students arriving at TOK and the Extended Essay from a Cambridge IGCSE background.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

A tutoring budget is spent across subjects, not on one. These are the Cambridge IGCSE subjects Dubai families most often fund alongside 0457, with the hours each usually takes and why the figures differ so much.

Global Perspectives (0457)

Single tier

Typically four to eight sessions, concentrated on the Individual Report and a written-paper block. Priced at the specialist end because the teaching population in the emirate is thin, not because the content is heavy. The hours are front-loaded: one session that fixes a research question protects the largest block of marks on the syllabus.

Mathematics (0580)

Core and Extended

The most heavily tutored IGCSE in Dubai and the cheapest per hour, because supply is deep. Families often run thirty or more sessions across two years. Useful as a price anchor: if a 0457 quote sits far above a Maths quote from the same provider, scarcity rather than opportunism is usually the reason.

English as a First Language (0500)

Core and Extended

Six to twelve sessions is common, split between reading response and directed writing. Worth funding alongside 0457 for one specific reason: the summary and paraphrase skills assessed here are what bring a 2,500-word Individual Report back inside the limit without gutting the argument.

Economics (0455)

Single tier

Usually eight to fifteen sessions, with demand peaking at data-response technique. Overlaps 0457's trade and aid and poverty and inequality topics, so a family funding both can ask one tutor to cover the shared evidence base rather than paying twice for the same reading.

History (0470)

Core and Extended

Ten to twenty sessions is typical, most of it essay structure and source technique. Mid-band pricing in Dubai because supply is reasonable. Students taking it with 0457 need the two source habits kept separate, which is a teaching cost rather than an hours cost.

Biology (0610)

Core and Extended

Fifteen to thirty sessions in an exam year, with a distinct cost spike around the alternative-to-practical paper. Included here because science tutoring usually consumes a Dubai family's budget first, and 0457 then gets whatever is left in February, which is the most expensive possible order.

Chemistry (0620)

Core and Extended

Similar hours to Biology and similar rates. The relevant point for budgeting is sequencing: science hours are spread over the year while 0457 hours are compressed into a six-week window, so the two compete badly unless the report work is started early.

Sociology (0495)

Single tier

Six to twelve sessions, often concentrated on the extended evaluation questions. Priced close to 0457 because the teaching pool in Dubai is similarly thin, and genuinely complementary: the research-methods material is the same reliability thinking the 0457 written paper tests.

Business Studies (0450)

Single tier

Eight to fifteen sessions, mostly case-study application and evaluation structure. Cheaper per hour than 0457 in this market. Students bring a serviceable evaluation habit across, though its formulaic conclusion paragraph reads thin against the 0457 criteria and has to be unlearned.

Geography (0460)

Core and Extended

Ten to eighteen sessions, with the skills paper taking a disproportionate share. Shares case-study territory with 0457 topics such as water, migration and sustainable living, which is the clearest example of two funded subjects where the reading can be bought once.

Environmental Management (0680)

Single tier

Eight to sixteen sessions, concentrated on the resource-booklet paper. Sits in the same thin-supply band as 0457 in Dubai, and the resource-interpretation skill transfers directly to 0457 source analysis, so a combined plan is more efficient than two separate ones.

Arabic as a Foreign Language (0544)

Single tier

Hours vary more than any other subject here, from a handful of sessions to weekly support across two years, because starting points differ enormously. Relevant to a 0457 budget because KHDA requires Arabic in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed curriculum, so it is rarely optional spending.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three structures, three different cost profiles. All are delivered one-to-one online over live video; what varies is how many hours you commit to and when.

Hourly, no commitment

Pay for the sessions you book, one at a time. The most expensive per hour in almost every tutoring market and the cheapest overall for a family whose problem is narrow, such as a research question that needs testing and a draft that needs one honest read.

  • No minimum number of sessions and no notice period
  • Right for a single diagnostic block before a school deadline
  • Easiest to stop, which is worth something in a thin-supply subject
  • Written feedback on the student's own draft included in the hour

Component block with a fixed end

A named number of sessions aimed at one assessed component, agreed up front, with a stated finish. Most families use this for the Individual Report. The virtue is not the discount; it is that the spend has a boundary and a deliverable rather than running monthly until someone cancels.

  • Session count and purpose agreed in AED before the first paid hour
  • Ends with a referenced draft or a marked set of timed papers
  • No automatic renewal and no rolling monthly charge
  • A handover note at the end for the school's subject teacher

Weekly through the exam year

One hour a week from Term 1, which spreads the cost across months instead of concentrating it in February and removes the premium that a thin subject carries in peak weeks. Cheapest route to a good outcome and the least used, because the pressure that triggers spending has not arrived yet.

  • Same tutor and slot, so nothing is re-explained each week
  • Report work paced against the school's internal deadline
  • Sessions paused during mock weeks rather than charged for
  • Scheduling moved for Ramadan hours and exam timetables

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai

01

What an online 0457 tutor costs in Dubai, with the sources

A Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives 0457 online tutor in Dubai costs between roughly AED 150 and AED 450 an hour at the qualified and specialist end of the market, with budget providers advertising from AED 33 and premium named tutors at AED 650. Those are published figures from the providers named in the table below, read in October 2026. IB Gram does not publish a fixed price list on this page, because the right number depends on the component and the hours, and we would rather quote you than have you read a figure that does not fit your child.

The spread is real rather than a presentation trick, and the bands correspond to different products. At AED 33 to 65 an hour you are typically buying a university student or an unqualified tutor working through content, often in a group or with recorded material. At AED 150 to 300 you are buying a qualified subject teacher online. At AED 200 to 450 you are buying someone who has taught the specific syllabus to a full cohort. At AED 500 and above you are usually paying for a named individual's reputation, which may or may not be the thing that fixes an Individual Report.

For a thin subject like 0457 the practical floor is higher than for Maths. There are very few people available at AED 60 an hour who have taught the written paper, the Individual Report and the Team Project, because that experience is rare in the emirate and the people who hold it do not compete at the budget end. A parent who insists on the lowest band for this subject usually gets a general humanities tutor reading the syllabus alongside the student, and that is not a bargain.

One further honesty point about rates on this page. Every figure named is a competitor's or a rate table's own published number with the month we read it, not an estimate we generated. No ranking page in this cluster cites a source for a single AED figure, and three publish no figures at all. If you compare quotes, ask each provider what the rate includes, whether it is per hour or per session, and whether written feedback between sessions is inside it or billed separately.

What moves the 0457 number in this emirate specifically

  • Buy before the January mock window, not after it
  • Ask whether the rate is per hour or per session, and what length a session is
  • Confirm in writing whether between-session feedback is included
  • Send the draft before asking for a quote, so the quote reflects the real job

Four variables do most of the work in a Dubai quote, and none of them is the subject's difficulty. The first is how close the school's internal submission deadline is. Specialist availability in a thin subject tightens sharply in the weeks when every Year 11 cohort in the emirate hits the same coursework window, which in most Dubai schools falls between the January mocks and the end of Term 2. A family buying in October is shopping in a loose market; a family buying in February is not.

The second is session length. A 60-minute slot and a 90-minute slot are not priced proportionally by most providers, and for Individual Report work the longer session is usually better value because the first fifteen minutes are spent reloading where the draft got to. For written-paper technique the opposite holds: a timed paper plus a review fits an hour, and a longer session adds fatigue rather than marks.

The third is what the rate contains. Written feedback on a draft between sessions, a marked timed paper returned with annotations, a handover note for the subject teacher: some providers include these and some bill them. Two quotes that look twenty per cent apart can be forty per cent apart once you ask. This is the question parents most often skip and the one that changes the total most.

The fourth is the student's starting point, which sounds obvious and is routinely mispriced. A student whose research question works and whose problem is evaluative writing needs three or four sessions. A student six weeks from a deadline with a 2,600-word descriptive draft on an unanswerable question needs the question rebuilt first, and that is a different and larger job. An honest provider will tell you which of those you have after reading the draft, before quoting.

03

Hours by component: what a 0457 plan actually costs end to end

Hourly rates are the wrong unit for a decision. What a family needs is the total, and the total is driven by hours per component. The table below sets out the session counts we see most often, with an indicative AED range built by multiplying those hours against the published specialist band of AED 200 to 450. The arithmetic is yours to check and the assumptions are stated, which is more than any page currently ranking for this query offers.

Two patterns are worth naming. The first is that the Individual Report dominates the spend, which is appropriate, because it carries the largest single block of marks on the syllabus. The second is that the written paper is the cheapest component to improve and the one most families fund last. Four timed papers, marked and reviewed with a running error list, moves a Component 1 grade more reliably than any amount of content work, and it costs four sessions.

The Team Project reflection is the sleeper. It is short work, usually two sessions, and it is the component where a late intervention still pays, because the reflection is written after the project and is marked on the student's own thinking rather than on the group's outcome. Families who have written off the Team Project because the group collapsed are often two sessions away from recovering most of those marks.

A whole-course plan from Term 1 of Year 10 looks expensive on paper and is usually cheaper in practice than the February emergency, because the emergency block buys the same number of hours at peak-demand availability and spends the first of them on triage. Spreading the same spend across eighteen months also lets a family stop early if the student no longer needs it, which a compressed block never allows.

Tutoring cost in context against Dubai school fees

A tutoring figure means nothing on its own. It means something against what a Dubai family is already spending on education, and that denominator has just been fixed. KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there will be no increase in school fees for private schools in the emirate for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion out of AED 2.5 billion in total. For families budgeting a Year 11 tutoring plan, that removes one variable from the sum.

The scale of the market is worth stating too, because it explains the depth of tutoring supply in some subjects and the thinness in others. Dubai had 387,441 students across 227 private schools in 2024-25, offering 17 different curricula, with UK-curriculum schools taking the largest share of enrolment at around 37 per cent, Indian curriculum next, then US, with the International Baccalaureate at a smaller share. A city that size produces plenty of Maths tutors. It produces very few people who have taught three assessed components of Global Perspectives.

Against those fees, the component plans in the previous table are a modest line item, and that is the honest framing rather than a sales one. A four-session written-paper block at market specialist rates is a small fraction of a term's fees. A full weekly plan across the exam year is not small, and a family should ask whether the subject in question is the one that most needs the money. Sometimes it is not, and we will say so.

One cost families forget: exam entry as a private candidate, if the student is not entered through their school. That is a centre-set fee, it varies, and it is not something a tutoring provider should be quoting. Ask the centre directly, in writing, and ask specifically about 0457, because two of its three components are submitted work the centre has to authenticate and some centres decline external entries for that reason alone.

Where the money gets wasted: buying hours instead of a diagnosis

The most common way a Dubai family overspends on 0457 is by booking a block of hours before anyone has read the student's work. The sessions then start with content: a tour of the global topics, a general discussion of perspectives, some advice about structure. Three hours in, the research question is still unanswerable, and the family has paid specialist rates for a seminar. This happens because booking hours is easy to sell and a diagnosis is not.

The fix is cheap and almost nobody asks for it. Send the draft, the teacher's comment or the mock script before you book anything. A tutor who has read the actual work can tell you in writing whether the problem is the question, the evaluation, the evidence or the word count, and how many sessions each of those takes. If a provider will not do that before taking payment, that is useful information about what you are buying.

The second waste is paying for presence. A student can sit through twelve hours of pleasant conversation about global issues and improve very little, because improvement in this subject comes from work being marked against criteria and the same error being named repeatedly until it stops. Ask what evidence each session produces. If the answer is a feeling that things are going well, the hours are not working, whatever the rate.

The third is duplicating school provision. Dubai schools run intervention sessions, and some run 0457 clinics in the run-up to internal deadlines. Those are included in fees that KHDA has frozen for 2026-27. Paying market specialist rates for coverage the school already gives is a straightforward loss, and five minutes of asking the subject teacher what is already available prevents it.

06

What a 0457 quote should contain before you pay

  • Currency, unit and session length stated in AED
  • What the rate includes and excludes, written down before payment
  • Cancellation notice and whether a missed session is chargeable
  • Any condition attached to a free trial, stated on the same page
  • A named date when the right tutor is actually available
  • No grade promise, no percentage claim without a sample and a method

Dubai parents are given a number and almost never given a scope. A quote that names only an hourly rate is incomplete, and the gap is where the disagreements later live. Below is what we think a quote should state, and what we state ourselves. None of it is complicated; it is simply not standard in this market, where one ranking competitor asks about price in its own FAQ and then declines to answer.

It should say the currency and the unit: AED, per hour or per session, with the session length named. It should say what the figure includes: live teaching time, written feedback on a draft between sessions, marked timed papers, a handover note. It should say what it excludes. It should say how cancellation works, with notice periods in hours and whether a missed session is chargeable. It should say whether anything is conditional, including a free trial, and state the condition on the same page rather than in a footnote.

It should also be honest about availability. Global Perspectives is a thin subject, and there are weeks in a Dubai year when the right tutor is not free. The correct response to that is to say so and offer a date, not to substitute a general humanities tutor at the specialist rate. We would rather lose a booking than place a tutor who has not taught the component that is broken.

Finally, it should carry no outcome promise. No tutor can promise a grade or a point improvement, and any Dubai provider offering a certain 7, a promised grade jump or money back linked to a result is making a claim they cannot stand behind. Be sceptical of anything in that shape, including the softer versions that quote a percentage of students achieving something without stating the sample, the date or the method.

07

Permits, legality and why the cheapest hour can be the riskiest

Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated by permit, and price is tangled up with that fact. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023. It is granted free of charge for two years, and eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, employees in the government and private sectors, unemployed individuals, school students aged 15 to 18 and university students. MoHRE's own service page is 'Issuance of a New Work Permit - Private Tutor Licensing', which lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time, applied for through the MoHRE smart app, website and e-services system.

Because the permit costs nothing, a low hourly rate is not evidence that a tutor has skipped it, and a high rate is not evidence that they hold one. The two are independent, and parents are often sold the opposite impression. What is true is that individuals offering private tutoring without a permit from MoHRE are subject to fines and penalties outlined in the applicable laws. No fine schedule is published, so no amount should be quoted to you, and a figure circulating online as a specific penalty has not been verified.

There is a related rule that affects who a family should be hiring at any price. Abu Dhabi's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff prohibit teachers from providing paid private tutoring to students enrolled at their own school, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct also bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school. Treat that as press-reported and verify it against the current ADEK policy document before relying on it, but the direction is clear: your child's own classroom teacher, hired privately, is the arrangement to avoid rather than the one to seek.

For completeness about what IB Gram is and is not: we are an independent tutor-matching platform. We hold no approval, accreditation, licence or partnership from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, Cambridge or the IB, and we do not operate a centre or office in the UAE. A tutoring operation with premises and staff in Dubai needs a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, which is a specific thing issued to institutes with physical premises. Any provider describing itself with a regulator's name attached as an endorsement is making a claim worth checking.

Where we tutor

What the same 0457 hour costs across Dubai

The teaching is identical wherever a family lives. What changes across the emirate is the travel premium an in-home provider has to recover, and how late a session can realistically start.

The Springs, The Meadows and Emirates Living

A long way from the humanities-tutor supply around Al Barsha, so in-home quotes here sit at the upper end of the published 180 to 350 band. The online rate is the same figure a Jumeirah family pays, which is most of the argument in this community.

Jumeirah Village Circle

Dense, affordable and badly served by school transport, so families here fund more tutoring per child than the emirate average. JVC parents are also the most likely to be offered a monthly package, and the most likely to be charged for sessions they could not attend.

Al Furjan and Discovery Gardens

Apartment living with limited quiet study space, which argues for shorter, more frequent sessions rather than two-hour blocks. No travel attached means a 45-minute slot is economically sensible here, where an in-home visit of that length never is.

Palm Jumeirah

Short distances but a single access road that adds unpredictable time at the end of the school day. In-home providers price the uncertainty, not the kilometres. An online slot at 7.30pm removes the variable entirely and costs the published online band.

Town Square and Dubai South

The furthest reach of most Dubai tutors' travel radius, where some will not visit at all and others add a surcharge they do not itemise. Families here see the widest gap between an in-home quote and an online one for the same calibre of tutor.

Deira, Al Mamzar and Al Nahda

Older, well-served by Indian and British curriculum schools, and highly price-sensitive. The budget online band of AED 33 to 65 is most actively marketed to these communities, which makes the question of what a cheap hour actually contains especially worth asking here.

Mirdif and Al Warqa

Large sibling groups and tight budgets, so cost per household matters more than cost per hour. Two children on alternating weekly slots with the same tutor is a common structure, and it is cheaper than two separate in-home visits by a wide margin.

Downtown Dubai and Business Bay

Parents working late, which pushes sessions past 7pm and makes written feedback between sessions part of what is being bought. Worth checking whether a quoted rate includes that feedback or treats it as a separate billable item.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai

Al Barsha, Al Sufouh and Umm Suqeim

The deepest tutor supply in Dubai and therefore the most competitive in-home pricing in the emirate. Students we support in this cluster usually sit 0457 as an additional subject, and their families are comparing a nearby generalist against an online specialist on cost as much as on quality.

  • GEMS Wellington International School
  • Kings' School Al Barsha
  • Dubai College
  • Jumeirah College
  • Nord Anglia International School Dubai

Dubai Hills, Meydan and Nad Al Sheba

Newer secondary cohorts with small Year 11 groups, which thins the number of local teachers who have taken a cohort through all three 0457 components. Scarcity shows up directly in the quotes families receive here, and is the clearest case for paying for a specialist rather than for proximity.

  • Repton Dubai
  • GEMS Modern Academy
  • Hartland International School
  • Dubai Heights Academy
  • GEMS Metropole School

Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City and Mirdif

A long commute in both directions, so in-home visits here consume an hour of a tutor's unpaid time and are priced accordingly. Families in this cluster are the most consistent users of Saturday morning sessions, which cost the same per hour but produce more report progress than a weekday evening.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the work before asking for a number

A draft report, a teacher comment or a marked mock script. A quote built on the actual work reflects the actual job, and the written diagnosis you get back tells you whether the problem is one session or six. We do this before any payment.

  2. 02

    Get the scope in writing

Rate in AED, per hour or per session, session length, what is included between sessions, cancellation notice, and whether a missed session is chargeable. If anything is conditional, including the trial, the condition is stated with it rather than later.

  3. 03

    Use the free trial lesson

One session at no cost before any payment, with no card details taken to book it. Your child works on their own material and you receive a short written note on what the tutor believes is actually wrong, whether or not you continue afterwards.

  4. 04

Agree a session count, not a subscription

Most 0457 work is a block with an end: four to six sessions on the Individual Report, four on the written paper, two on the Team Project reflection. We prefer a stated finish to a rolling monthly charge that nobody remembers to cancel.

  5. 05

Pause rather than pay through dead weeks

Mock fortnights, exam weeks and family travel are not good teaching time. Sessions pause, and during Ramadan the slot moves to post-Iftar hours rather than being pushed into an afternoon when nothing lands.

  6. 06

Stop when the evidence says to

When the report is referenced and inside the limit and the error list on timed papers has cleared, the block ends. We write a handover note for the school's subject teacher and you stop spending. A plan with no finish condition is a subscription, not a plan.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Every AED figure here is attributed

Each band names the provider or rate table that published it and the month we read it. No page currently ranking for this query cites a source for a single AED figure, and three publish no figure at all, so a sourced comparison is the least a Dubai parent should be given.

We cost the work, not the hour

Hourly rates are the wrong unit for a decision about a subject where seventy per cent of the grade is submitted work. The tables above count sessions per component and show the arithmetic, so you can judge the total rather than compare rates blind.

No travel premium inside the rate

An in-home hour in Dubai carries 25 to 45 minutes of driving each way, priced in whether or not the invoice names it. Our sessions are one-to-one online over live video, so the money buys teaching time. Home visits are a service we run only in India.

We say when the right tutor is not free

Global Perspectives is a thin subject in this emirate. When nobody with three-component experience is available, we give you a date instead of substituting a general humanities tutor at the specialist rate and hoping you do not notice.

No guarantees, no unsourced statistics

No grade promise, no point-improvement claim, no percentage of students achieving anything without a sample, a date and a method. Those claims are common in this search result and none of them can be stood behind.

We explain the regulators, we do not borrow them

This page describes what KHDA, MoHRE and the Ministry of Education actually do and links you to them. IB Gram holds no approval, licence or partnership from any of them and operates no centre in the UAE.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai: your questions answered

How much does a Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives 0457 online tutor cost in Dubai?+

Published Dubai rates for qualified online subject tutors run from about AED 150 to AED 300 an hour, and specialist exam-year support from AED 200 to AED 450 or more. Budget providers advertise from AED 33 to 65 and premium named tutors up to AED 650. Those are each provider's own published figures, read in October 2026. For 0457 specifically the practical floor sits higher than for Maths, because very few tutors available at the budget end have taught the written paper, the Individual Report and the Team Project. We quote after reading your child's work rather than publishing a flat rate.

Why is 0457 tutoring priced above IGCSE Maths tutoring in Dubai?+

Supply, not difficulty. Maths is taught by a large department in every school in the emirate and tutored by hundreds of people, so competition holds the rate down. Global Perspectives is usually taught by one or two members of a humanities department, and the number of adults in Dubai who have taken a full cohort through all three assessed components is small. A thin supply meeting concentrated Year 11 demand in a six-week window produces a higher figure. If a provider quotes the same rate for both subjects, it is worth asking what their 0457 tutor has actually taught.

Is a monthly 0457 package better value than paying by the hour?+

Sometimes, and the discount is rarely the reason. Monthly packages advertised in Dubai start around AED 799 for eight online sessions, which is cheaper per hour than most specialist rates. The risks are that unused sessions expire, that the package renews automatically, and that it commits you to a cadence the subject does not need. Most 0457 work is a block with a natural end: four to six sessions on the Individual Report, four on the written paper. If a package fits that shape, take it. If it rolls monthly with no finish condition, you are buying a subscription.

Do 0457 tutoring rates rise closer to the Cambridge exam series?+

The headline rate usually holds. What changes is availability, and in a thin subject that has the same effect on what you pay. Dubai schools cluster mocks in January and internal coursework deadlines in Term 2, so every Year 11 cohort in the emirate wants the same few specialists in the same weeks. Families buying then are choosing from whoever is left, which in practice means paying the specialist band for a generalist or accepting a later start. Buying in Term 1 costs the same per hour and gets you a different quality of tutor.

Does the quoted AED rate include feedback on an Individual Report draft between sessions?+

It should, and you should confirm it in writing, because this is where two quotes that look similar diverge most. Reading a 2,000-word draft properly against Cambridge criteria and writing useful comments on it takes real time, and some providers include that in the session rate while others bill it separately or do not offer it. For 0457 it is not an extra; most of the value in report work happens between sessions, when the student revises against named comments. Our rate includes written feedback on the student's own draft.

Is a cheaper 0457 tutor at AED 60 an hour worth trying?+

For general content coverage or essay-writing habits, a tutor in the budget band can be genuinely useful and Dubai families use them well. For 0457 the risk is specific: the person is likely to be reading the syllabus alongside your child rather than teaching it, and the failure mode of this subject is an unanswerable research question that a non-specialist will not recognise as the problem. If you do try the budget band, ask directly whether the tutor has taught the Individual Report and the Team Project to a cohort before, and ask for the answer in writing.

How much should a complete 0457 Individual Report plan cost in Dubai?+

Four to six sessions is typical, which at the published specialist band of AED 200 to 450 an hour works out at roughly AED 800 to 2,700 in total. That buys testing and narrowing the research question, building a source set that genuinely disagrees, structuring the report, writing the first evaluative paragraph, and two cycles of feedback and revision on the student's own draft. A rescue three weeks before a school deadline costs about the same but delivers less, because the first session goes on triage and the question may no longer be changeable.

Are 0457 sessions charged per hour or per 90-minute session?+

Both exist in the Dubai market and the distinction matters more than the headline rate. A 90-minute session is not usually priced at one and a half times the hourly figure, so for Individual Report work it is often better value: the first ten or fifteen minutes of any session go on reloading where the draft got to, and a longer block spends proportionally less time on that. For written-paper technique an hour is the better unit, because a timed paper plus a line-by-line review fits it and anything longer adds fatigue rather than marks. Ask which unit a quote uses.

Does the price of 0457 tutoring in Dubai include VAT, and what should the invoice show?+

Ask the provider directly and get the answer in writing, because the treatment of tuition fees depends on the provider's own registration status and we will not state a general VAT position for the sector without a Federal Tax Authority citation. What a parent should insist on is an invoice that shows the amount in AED, what the charge covers, the number and length of sessions, and the tax position clearly on its face, with a tax registration number if the provider holds one. A quote given verbally with no invoice behind it is the thing to avoid.

Can two students share one online 0457 session and split the cost?+

It can work and it often should not. Two students at a similar standard working on the written paper can share a session productively, because source analysis is discussable and the marking review benefits from a second view. Individual Report work does not share, because each student has a different research question and the hour collapses into two half-sessions. The honest version of the saving is that a shared written-paper block cuts the cost per family roughly in half, while shared report work halves the price and more than halves the value.

What does the free trial lesson include for 0457, and what is the condition?+

One full session at no cost, before any payment, with no card details required to book it. Your child works on their own material, usually their draft or a marked mock paper, and afterwards you receive a short written note from the tutor on what they believe is actually wrong and how many sessions each part would take. The condition is simply that it is one session per student, and the material has to be sent in advance for it to be useful. If the fit is poor you say so and we look for a different tutor.

Does a 0457 tutor in Dubai need a MoHRE permit, and does that change the price?+

Individuals providing private lessons in the UAE need a MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, and those operating without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws. The permit is granted free of charge for two years, so it has no effect on what a tutor needs to charge. That is the useful point for a parent: a low rate is not evidence of an unpermitted tutor and a high rate is not evidence of a permitted one. Ask the question separately from the price.

What happens to our fees if we pause 0457 sessions during the January mocks?+

With us, sessions pause and nothing is charged for the gap, because a student absorbing new technique the night before a Maths mock is not learning anything and you should not be paying for the pretence. Across the Dubai market the answer varies, and it is worth asking before you commit: some monthly packages charge through pauses, some expire unused sessions, and some require notice measured in days rather than hours. Get the cancellation and pause terms in writing alongside the rate, because this is the clause families discover late.

How does the cost of 0457 support compare with Dubai private school fees?+

Against a term's fees, a four-session written-paper block at market specialist rates is a small line item, and a five-session Individual Report plan is a modest one. A full weekly plan across the exam year is not small and deserves a harder question about whether this is the subject that most needs the money. One helpful fixed point for 2026-27 budgeting: KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that private school fees in Dubai will not rise for the year, under the emirate's AED 1.5 billion economic incentives package, so the denominator in that calculation is known.
