IB Tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 2

Searching for an IB tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 2 is really a question about the clock. There is no IB Diploma campus inside the community, so every Diploma student here commutes, and the bus or the car decides what is left of the evening. This page works through the actual school run: when the day ends at each campus the community feeds, when a child is genuinely home in Palma, Rosa, Lila or Camelia, and where a one-to-one session fits. Lessons run live over video in Gulf Standard Time.

  • Session times set from your campus and your commute, not a generic slot
  • Fixed weekly slot in Gulf Standard Time, held across the term
  • Timetable rebuilt for Ramadan and for school examination weeks

IB & IGCSE in Arabian Ranches 2

There is no Diploma campus in the community, so the commute sets the timetable

Arabian Ranches 2 sits past the original Ranches off Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, spread across Palma, Rosa, Lila, Yasmin, Camelia, Casa and Reem, with Ranches Primary School inside it for the early years. Everything after primary happens somewhere else. For a Diploma student that means a daily journey out and back, and the journey rather than the subject is what decides whether a weekday session is possible at all. Parents search for a tutor near me and are actually asking whether the evening has room in it.

The honest answer begins with the clock rather than with teaching. A child leaving Camelia at seven in the morning for a campus in Al Barsha South is not reliably back in the community before half past four, and later once activities or a sports fixture are involved. From Dubai Hills Estate the return is quicker. From The Sustainable City it varies with the Al Qudra Road traffic. Those differences are small on paper and decisive in practice, because a session that starts half an hour too early simply does not happen.

The second part of the answer is about supply, and it is less comfortable. A search for a tutor near me returns people who live near you. In Arabian Ranches 2 that is a residential villa community a long way from where Dubai's Diploma teaching capacity actually lives. For a widely taught subject there may be someone within a few minutes. For Physics Higher Level, Economics Higher Level, or Theory of Knowledge support, the chance that the right specialist happens to live in Lila is close to nil, and a proximity filter removes them before you have read a single profile.

IB Gram resolves both problems the same way. Every lesson for a UAE family is delivered live over video, one-to-one, timed to Gulf Standard Time. We do not send a tutor to an address in Arabian Ranches 2 or anywhere else in the Emirates; visits to a family's address are a service we run only in India, and that is stated on all forty-eight of our country pages. What a family here gets instead is a specialist chosen for the subject and a slot chosen for the commute, with nothing in between that can be delayed by traffic.

The rest of this page is practical. It sets out when the academic day ends at each campus Arabian Ranches 2 households use, when a child is realistically free, how a Diploma week fills up once creativity, activity, service and internal assessment deadlines are counted, what Ramadan and the shortened Friday do to a fixed slot, and how two children in two different year groups can be scheduled without a household losing every evening of the week.

At a glance

  • Campus-by-campus end-of-day and realistic session start times
  • A worked DP1 and DP2 week, with the Diploma core counted in
  • Ramadan and shortened Friday timings handled explicitly
  • Internal assessment deadlines mapped against the school run
  • Sibling scheduling so one evening does not carry two sessions
  • Why a proximity search returns the wrong tutor for a niche subject
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Arabian Ranches 2 households run children through three different IB stages, and each one makes a different demand on the evening. The notes below are about workload and timing rather than content.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13 · DP1 and DP2

Diploma Programme

Six subjects at Higher or Standard Level plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and creativity, activity, service. Higher Level courses run to 240 taught hours each. The workload is not evenly spread: DP1 carries most of the internal assessment drafting and the Extended Essay, while DP2 carries the examination preparation, so the evenings fill up differently in each year.

No Diploma campus sits inside Arabian Ranches 2, so DP students commute daily. The practical consequence is that a weekday session here starts later than in a community with a campus inside it, and that Thursday and the weekend carry more of the tutoring load than they would elsewhere in the city.

MYPAges 11-16 · MYP 1 to MYP 5

Middle Years Programme

Eight subject groups assessed against four criteria each, with the Personal Project in the final year and a community project earlier. Workload is lighter than the Diploma in hours but spikes around task deadlines, which arrive several at once because each subject group sets its own.

Arabian Ranches 2 MYP students travel to the continuum campuses around Dubai Hills Estate, The Sustainable City and Al Barsha South. Because the day ends earlier for younger year groups at most campuses, MYP sessions here can usually start half an hour before a Diploma sibling's can.

PYPAges 3-12 · Up to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

Inquiry-led and transdisciplinary, finishing with the PYP exhibition. Homework load is modest and the useful tutoring at this stage is short and skill-focused rather than subject-focused, which makes it easy to fit into an afternoon rather than an evening.

Ranches Primary School inside Arabian Ranches 2 follows the British curriculum rather than the PYP, so families wanting the Primary Years Programme travel out. For scheduling that is the easiest case in the community: primary days end earliest, so a four o'clock session is realistic.

COREAges 16-19 · Across DP1 and DP2

The Diploma core: Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and creativity, activity, service

Three commitments that run alongside six subjects and consume evenings without appearing on a subject timetable. Creativity, activity, service requires sustained engagement over eighteen months. The Extended Essay is 4,000 words with school-set interim deadlines. Theory of Knowledge has an exhibition and an essay.

For an Arabian Ranches 2 family the core is the reason a Diploma week feels fuller than the subject list suggests. Activity commitments are frequently at the campus rather than in the community, which extends the day further, and planning tutoring without counting them is how a fixed slot collapses by October.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

These are the subjects Arabian Ranches 2 families ask about most, described by where they sit in the week rather than by syllabus content, because scheduling is what this page is about.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

The most frequently requested Diploma subject in this community and the one that benefits most from a consistent weekly slot rather than an intensive block. Little and often works because fluency is built by repetition, so a fixed hour on the same evening each week outperforms three hours crammed before a test.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Statistics and modelling led, with coursework that lands in DP1 alongside the sciences. The scheduling implication is a cluster of internal assessment deadlines in the same term, which is the point at which a family usually needs one session a week rather than one a fortnight.

Physics HL and SL

HL and SL

A thin tutor market, which means a slot has to be arranged earlier than for mathematics and is harder to move once set. Physics work also benefits from longer sessions, since a past-paper question and its review rarely fit into forty-five minutes.

Chemistry HL and SL

HL and SL

Similar supply picture to physics and the same preference for longer sessions. Chemistry support tends to concentrate around the scientific investigation in DP1 and around organic mechanisms in DP2, so the intensity across the year is uneven rather than steady.

Biology HL and SL

HL and SL

Better supplied than physics and chemistry, so slots are easier to arrange at short notice. Biology revision is content-heavy, which makes it one of the subjects where a weekend session genuinely works as well as a weekday one.

Economics HL and SL

HL and SL

Internal assessment commentaries arrive in DP1 with firm school deadlines, and essay technique carries most of the marks. A fortnightly slot often suffices outside the commentary windows, with a short intensive block when they land.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Individual oral preparation and essay work dominate, both of which are better served by longer, less frequent sessions than by short weekly ones. Scheduling around the oral is worth planning a term ahead, because the school sets the window.

Business Management HL and SL

HL and SL

Case-study technique and command-term discipline carry the marks. Because the work is written rather than cumulative, this is one of the easier subjects to schedule flexibly around a fixture-heavy week.

Theory of Knowledge

Core, all DP students

The exhibition and the essay both have school deadlines that collide with subject internal assessments. Support here is best bought as two or three sessions near each deadline rather than weekly, which makes it easy to fit into an already full term.

Extended Essay

Core, 4,000 words

Spread across DP1 and the start of DP2 with school-set interim deadlines. The supervisor stays the school's. Tutoring is confined to teaching the underlying subject, discussing method and giving feedback on drafts the student has written, scheduled around the school's own checkpoints.

MYP subject groups

MYP 1-5, four criteria each

Assessed against four criteria out of eight per subject. Task deadlines cluster, so MYP support is usually a short block around a specific criterion rather than a standing weekly slot, which makes it the easiest stage to schedule in a busy household.

Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies

Mandatory in Dubai private schools

Required in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, and they occupy real timetable and homework hours. A family planning an evening schedule should count them, because they are frequently the homework that is still unfinished when a tutoring slot arrives.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three scheduling patterns that work from Arabian Ranches 2, chosen by what the week actually looks like rather than by preference. All lessons run live over video, so none of them depends on anybody arriving.

One fixed weekday evening slot

The pattern that works for most Diploma students here. A single evening, held across the whole term, starting late enough that the commute is finished and early enough that the student is not working at nine o'clock. Consistency matters more than the particular day, because a slot that moves every week stops being used.

  • Start time set from your campus, not from a default
  • Same day and tutor across the term
  • Rebuilt once for Ramadan rather than weekly
  • Protected through school examination weeks by agreement

Thursday or weekend sessions

The most reliable slots available to this community, because no commute is competing with them and no activity usually is either. Weekend sessions also allow a longer format, which suits physics, chemistry and essay subjects where a past paper and its review do not fit inside an hour.

  • No school run in front of the session
  • Longer formats possible, ninety minutes or more
  • Suits past-paper work and essay drafting
  • Easier to hold through a fixture-heavy term

Deadline-shaped blocks rather than weekly slots

Some Diploma work does not need a weekly rhythm at all. Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and most internal assessment commentaries are better served by two or three sessions near the school's own deadline, which keeps the rest of the term clear for subjects that do need weekly contact.

  • Planned from the school's internal deadline calendar
  • Two or three sessions per deadline, then finished
  • Keeps weekly slots free for cumulative subjects
  • No rolling commitment between deadlines

Two children, one household calendar

A Diploma student and a younger sibling need different tutors and different session lengths, but one schedule. Sessions are arranged so no single evening carries both, with the younger child earlier in the week or earlier in the day and the Diploma slot placed after the longer commute has finished.

  • Separate specialists matched to each stage
  • One shared calendar and one point of contact
  • No evening carrying two sessions
  • Each child's block reviewed on its own terms

01

What a proximity search actually returns from Arabian Ranches 2

  • Distance is a weak proxy for availability in a scarce specialism
  • No campus above primary level sits inside the community
  • A proximity result tells you nothing about what it excluded
  • Over video the only variables left are subject fit and timing
  • Online is a poor fit for a young child who needs an adult present

Typed from a villa in Palma or Reem, a search for a tutor near me sorts by distance. That is the right behaviour for a dentist and the wrong behaviour for a Diploma subject specialist. Distance is a good proxy for convenience when the service is widely available and a poor one when it is scarce, and Diploma teaching in Dubai is scarce in exactly the subjects families most often need: Physics Higher Level, Chemistry Higher Level, Economics Higher Level, Theory of Knowledge, and Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level.

Arabian Ranches 2 compounds the problem because it is residential rather than central. It is a villa community off Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street with no campus inside it above primary level, which means the local population includes very few people who teach the Diploma for a living. A proximity search will return somebody, because it always does, and the question nobody asks is what was filtered out in order to produce that result.

What was filtered out is most of the relevant pool. The useful comparison is not between a tutor fifteen minutes away and a tutor forty minutes away; it is between a tutor who happens to live nearby and a specialist who teaches the exact course at the exact level. Once a lesson is delivered over video, distance stops carrying any information at all, and the only remaining variables are subject fit and whether the slot works with your commute.

The honest limits are worth stating alongside the argument. Online delivery requires a quiet room and a working connection, and it is less effective for a younger child who will not engage with a screen without an adult present. It also means IB Gram cannot offer what a family that specifically wants someone physically present is asking for: we do not send tutors to UAE addresses, and that service exists only in India. For a sixteen-year-old working on Paper 2 technique, none of those limits bite.

02

The school run from Arabian Ranches 2, campus by campus

Every scheduling decision in this community starts with one number: when the child is actually home. That is later than the end of the academic day, because the bus or the car has to cross Dubai in the late afternoon, and later again on any day carrying an activity or a fixture. Families consistently underestimate it by about thirty minutes, which is why a five o'clock slot booked in September is a half past five slot by October.

The table below sets out the pattern for the campuses Arabian Ranches 2 households use. Timings are indicative rather than official, they vary by year group, and every school publishes its own daily schedule, which is the document to use rather than this one. What the table is for is relative comparison: the gap between a JESS Arabian Ranches student and an Al Barsha South student is close to an hour, and that hour is the difference between a comfortable weekday slot and no weekday slot.

Two features of the local geography drive the differences. Al Khail Road and Hessa Street absorb the western Dubai evening traffic badly between five and seven, so campuses reached by either are the latest home. Al Qudra Road moves more freely, which makes The Sustainable City one of the more predictable journeys despite the distance. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road is the least predictable of the three, and a schedule that depends on it should be built around the worst evening of the week rather than the average one.

The practical recommendation that follows is simple and it saves families a term of frustration. Set the slot thirty minutes later than feels necessary, and protect it rather than moving it. A session at six that always happens is worth more than a session at five that happens three weeks in four, because the weeks it does not happen are the weeks the student most needed it.

Where a session fits in a Diploma week

A Diploma student carries six subjects, Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and creativity, activity, service. Written out as a list that looks manageable. Written out as a week it is not, because the three core commitments do not appear on a subject timetable and the activity component is frequently at the campus rather than in the community, which extends the day a second time on the days it falls.

The pattern that emerges in Arabian Ranches 2 households is consistent. Monday through Wednesday are the hardest evenings, because the commute, the homework and the activity commitments all land together and the student is tired from a day that started before seven. Thursday is the most reliable weekday evening in the week. The weekend offers the longest sessions and the least competition, which matters for subjects where a past paper and its review need ninety minutes rather than sixty.

The worked week below is a planning tool rather than a prescription, and no two households will match it. Its purpose is to make the competing commitments visible before a slot is chosen, because the common failure is to book the first available evening and then discover that it collides with the one fixture the student will not miss. Ten minutes spent mapping the week prevents a term of rescheduling.

One further point specific to the Diploma. Internal assessment deadlines cluster, and they cluster differently in DP1 and DP2. In DP1 the sciences, mathematics and Economics commentaries frequently land inside the same six weeks, alongside the Extended Essay interim deadline. A family that has mapped its week can absorb that by adding a short block rather than by abandoning the weekly slot, which is the response that actually works.

Ramadan, the shortened Friday and the UAE calendar

The UAE school and working week has run Monday to Friday since 2022, with Friday shortened in the public sector and in many private schools. Dubai private schools set their own daily timings within the regulator's framework, so the only reliable source for your own child's Friday is the campus calendar. For tutoring the practical implication is that Friday is the least predictable slot in the week across this community and should not be the anchor of a schedule.

Ramadan reshapes the timetable more substantially. School hours are reduced across the month, the whole household rhythm shifts around Iftar, and the useful tutoring window moves from late afternoon to after the evening meal. Because Ramadan falls earlier in the Gregorian calendar each year, it moves through the academic year and will sit at different points relative to mock examinations in successive years, which is worth checking against the school calendar rather than assumed.

The arrangement that works is to rebuild the slot once rather than renegotiate it weekly. A family that agrees a post-Iftar time at the start of the month keeps the continuity, and a family that improvises loses two or three sessions to confusion. Tutors working with UAE households expect this and plan for it; a provider that cannot accommodate a post-Iftar slot is telling you something about how much UAE work it actually does.

Two other calendar features matter for a Diploma student here. School examination weeks are the point at which a tutoring slot should usually pause rather than intensify, because the student needs the evening to revise rather than to be taught. And the long summer break is when the cheapest and most useful work happens: a bridging block between MYP 5 and DP1, or between DP1 and DP2, costs the same per hour and achieves considerably more than the same hours bought in the spring.

Internal assessment deadlines against the school run

  • School-set internal deadlines matter more than IB dates for planning
  • Confirm every IB date with the Diploma coordinator or on ibo.org
  • Cambridge entries close months before the examination period
  • Internal deadlines arrive in clusters, not evenly
  • Map the clusters in September and plan blocks into them

The Diploma deadlines that matter most to an Arabian Ranches 2 family are set by the school rather than by the IB. Each campus publishes its own internal calendar for science investigations, mathematics explorations, Economics commentaries, the Theory of Knowledge exhibition and essay, and the Extended Essay interim and final drafts. Those internal dates sit months ahead of anything the IB itself requires, and they are the dates a tutoring plan should be built from.

The IB's own examination and results dates should be confirmed with the school's Diploma coordinator or read on ibo.org rather than taken from a tutoring page, because published dates can be revised and a revision plan built on a wrong date is worse than one with no dates at all. What can be said with confidence is the structure: Dubai schools sit the May session, entries and internal deadlines precede it by many months, and the enquiry-upon-results process afterwards runs through the school rather than through a family directly.

For the British board sitting at 16, the published dates illustrate how far ahead deadlines sit. Count a Cambridge June series backwards from the papers: the exam window falls across May and June, forecast grades and coursework marks are collected in the weeks before it, and final entries close in the spring, with the exact day on the centre's statement of entry. A candidate not entered by then is waiting for the November series, and those two windows are the only ones open to someone sitting in the UAE. Pearson Edexcel's November 2026 International GCSE timetable ran to 19 November 2026, with June 2026 results reaching students on 20 August 2026.

The scheduling consequence for this community is specific. Internal deadlines arrive in clusters, and a student who is commuting ninety minutes a day has fewer spare evenings in which to absorb a cluster than a student living beside their campus. The response that works is to put the school's internal calendar on the wall in September, mark the clusters, and plan short blocks into them in advance rather than reacting when three drafts are due in the same fortnight.

06

Two children, two year groups, one evening

  • Younger child earlier in the day and earlier in the week
  • Diploma student later, after the longer commute has finished
  • Separate tutors matched to each stage, not a shared generalist
  • Shared sessions only where the year group and weakness genuinely match
  • One household calendar and one point of contact for both

A large share of Arabian Ranches 2 households have more than one child in school, frequently at different campuses with different end times. The scheduling problem that produces is not about tutoring at all; it is about an evening that already contains two commutes, two sets of homework and at least one activity. Adding two tutoring sessions to the same evening is the most common reason a family abandons both within a month.

The arrangement that holds separates them properly. The younger child takes the earlier slot, often earlier in the week as well, because primary and lower secondary days end sooner and a nine-year-old cannot work usefully at seven in the evening. The Diploma student takes a later slot after the longer commute, on a different day. Each child keeps their own tutor, because a Year 5 reading problem and a Physics Higher Level problem are not the same job and sharing a tutor serves neither.

Where siblings genuinely are doing the same thing, a shared session can work and costs less. Two children in the same MYP year group, in the same subject group, with the same weak criterion, is a real case and it is worth asking about. Two children two years apart in the same subject is not, however convenient it looks on the calendar, because the material diverges faster than families expect and one of the two always ends up watching.

The practical mechanism is one shared household calendar and one point of contact rather than two separate arrangements that collide. When a fixture moves or a deadline cluster arrives, a family should be able to make one request rather than two, and the two tutors should know about each other's slots so that a rescheduled session does not land on the sibling's evening. That is an administrative point rather than an academic one, and it is the thing that makes a two-child schedule survive a term.

07

What it costs, and what a parent can check for nothing

Price belongs on this page only briefly, because the scheduling question is the one this community actually asks, but the published market is worth stating. Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 research puts qualified online subject tutors at AED 150 to 300 an hour and IB, IGCSE and A Level specialists at AED 200 to 450 and above. Unitors publishes IB from AED 200, TutorChase lists AED 270, and BartyED's examiner-led tier is AED 650. At the budget end EdFlik advertises from AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya from AED 33 to 52.

In-home visits across Dubai are quoted at AED 180 to 350 by Bestimate and AED 200 to 500 by independent home tutors, with monthly packages advertised at AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour in-home sessions against AED 799 for eight online ones. Those figures are the publishers' own and they make the scheduling point better than the cost point: a visiting tutor who has to reach Arabian Ranches 2 by five o'clock is charging for the journey and is also constrained by it, which is why in-home slots in this community are so often offered at weekends.

Two checks cost nothing and are worth more than most price comparison. The first is the permit: private tutoring in the UAE runs on a MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years, applied for through MoHRE's smart app, website or e-services system under Issuance of a New Work Permit - Private Tutor Licensing. Ask whether a tutor holds one. No schedule of fines is published, so any penalty figure quoted at you is invented.

The second free check is the school. KHDA is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in Dubai and publishes an inspection report for every private school in the emirate. Those reports are specific by subject and phase and they are free to read. For completeness: IB Gram holds no approval, accreditation or licence from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, claims no partnership with any school, and has no office, centre or branch in the UAE.

Where we tutor

Arabian Ranches 2 and the campuses it travels to

These notes are about journeys. Each entry describes where Arabian Ranches 2 children actually go and what the trip does to the end of the day, because that is what decides when a session can start.

Arabian Ranches 2

Palma, Rosa, Lila, Yasmin, Camelia, Casa and Reem. Ranches Primary School sits inside the community for the early years; every secondary and Diploma student leaves it each morning and returns in the late afternoon, which is the single fact that shapes every schedule on this page.

Arabian Ranches

The original community next door, with JESS Arabian Ranches inside it running the English National Curriculum through to the IB Diploma. For an Arabian Ranches 2 family this is the shortest Diploma commute available, which makes a half past four start realistic rather than optimistic.

Arabian Ranches 3

The newest phase, still handing over. Children travel in the same directions as Arabian Ranches 2 students but from slightly further out, so the arrival home is later by a few minutes in light traffic and considerably later in heavy traffic.

Dubai Hills Estate

GEMS International School Al Khail sits inside the community with a full IB continuum, reached from Arabian Ranches 2 via Al Qudra Road and Al Khail Road. A quick journey outside peak, and a slow one between five and seven, which is exactly when a Diploma student is trying to get home.

The Sustainable City

Fairgreen International School runs the IB continuum here, along Al Qudra Road from Arabian Ranches 2. The road moves more freely than Al Khail in the evening, which makes this one of the more predictable return journeys in the belt.

The Meadows

Emirates International School Meadows is an established IB continuum campus on this side of the city. The journey from Arabian Ranches 2 crosses the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road corridor, which is the least predictable part of any evening return in this area.

Emirates Hills

Dubai International Academy Emirates Hills serves families across the western side of Dubai, including Arabian Ranches 2 households who chose it over a closer British campus. A longer commute, and the one most likely to push a weekday session past six o'clock.

Al Barsha South

Several IB and British campuses sit here, reached via Hessa Street or Al Khail Road. Both routes carry heavy evening traffic, so Arabian Ranches 2 students at an Al Barsha South campus are the latest home of any group in this community.

Motor City

GEMS Metropole School runs the British curriculum here, so Motor City is a destination for IGCSE rather than Diploma students from Arabian Ranches 2. The journey is short, which makes a five o'clock session comfortable for a younger sibling.

Mudon and Town Square

Neighbouring communities along the same corridor, sharing the same campuses and therefore the same timings. Families here report the same pattern: an early session is impossible on a weekday, and Thursday evening is the most reliable slot of the week.

None of these sits inside the community, which is the reason this page exists. Each holds IB authorisation and several run the full continuum, and each publishes its own daily timings and term calendar, which is the document a family should set a tutoring slot from.

  • Jumeirah English Speaking School, Arabian Ranches
  • GEMS International School Al Khail, Dubai Hills Estate
  • Fairgreen International School, The Sustainable City
  • Emirates International School Meadows
  • Dubai International Academy Emirates Hills
  • Nord Anglia International School Dubai
  • Safa Community School, Al Barsha South

Schools inside or adjacent to the community

Where younger children in the same households go. Scheduling in an Arabian Ranches 2 family usually means fitting a primary or MYP child and a Diploma child into the same evening, and these are the campuses that set the earlier of the two end times.

  • Ranches Primary School, Arabian Ranches 2
  • Jumeirah English Speaking School, Arabian Ranches
  • GEMS Metropole School, Motor City
  • The Aquila School, Dubailand
  • South View School, Remraam

Schools are named as local context so a family can locate their own child's campus and timings. No affiliation, endorsement, client relationship or partnership with any school or school group is implied, and daily timings and inspection bands should be taken from the school and from the current KHDA report rather than from this page.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Tell us the campus, not just the subject

The campus decides the commute and the commute decides the slot. A first message naming the school, the year group, the subject and the level lets a tutor be matched to the subject and a time to be matched to your actual evening, instead of a default slot being offered that will not survive October.

  2. 02

Map the week before choosing the day

Write down the activity commitments, the fixtures and the days the student is home latest. Thursday and the weekend are the most reliable windows in this community; Monday and Tuesday are the least. Ten minutes on this prevents a term of rescheduling and is the step families most often skip.

  3. 03

We match the specialist, then fit the time

Subject fit comes first and timing second, because a tutor who teaches the exact course at the exact level is scarcer than a free hour. If nobody suitable is free in your window we say so and offer a named alternative time or start date rather than filling the slot with a generalist.

  4. 04

    Take the free trial lesson

One full session before anything is paid, at the time you intend to use, so the slot itself gets tested as well as the tutor. No card details are needed. If the match or the timing is wrong, say so and we change one or both; nothing is owed either way.

  5. 05

Protect the slot, and rebuild it once for Ramadan

A slot that holds is worth more than a slot that is theoretically earlier. We agree the term's day and time, pause it through school examination weeks by arrangement, and rebuild it once around Iftar for Ramadan rather than renegotiating it week by week.

  6. 06

    Review against the deadline calendar

At the halfway point you get a short written note on progress and on what the next deadline cluster requires. That is usually the moment to add a short block for an internal assessment or to step the weekly slot down, and we will say which rather than leaving it to drift.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The slot is set from your commute

There is no Diploma campus inside Arabian Ranches 2, so every student here is home later than a timetable suggests. We set the start time from the campus and the approach road rather than offering a standard evening slot, because a session booked thirty minutes too early quietly stops happening.

Specialist first, distance never

A proximity search filters out most of Dubai's Diploma teaching capacity before you see a profile, and in Physics or Economics at Higher Level it filters out nearly all of it. Over video, distance carries no information, so the match is made on the course and the level alone.

Ramadan and Friday handled properly

The UAE week runs Monday to Friday with Friday shortened at many schools, and Ramadan moves the usable window to after Iftar. We rebuild the slot once for the month rather than improvising weekly, which is the difference between keeping continuity and losing three sessions.

Deadline clusters planned in advance

Internal assessment deadlines arrive several at once, set by your child's own school rather than by the IB. We work from the school's internal calendar, add short blocks into the clusters, and keep the weekly slot intact instead of abandoning it when three drafts fall in a fortnight.

Two children scheduled as one household

A Diploma student and a younger sibling get different tutors and different session lengths on different evenings, with one shared calendar and one point of contact. No evening carries two sessions, which is the single most common reason a two-child arrangement collapses.

Online delivery stated before anything is paid

IB Gram does not send tutors to addresses in Arabian Ranches 2 or anywhere in the UAE; that service exists only in India. We say so on the page rather than after a deposit, and we hold no accreditation from any regulator or board and no UAE premises.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Arabian Ranches 2: your questions answered

What time does the school day actually end for Arabian Ranches 2 children?+

The academic day ends in the mid afternoon at most Dubai campuses, but the time that matters is when a child is home, which is later. From JESS Arabian Ranches next door that can be mid afternoon. From The Sustainable City or Dubai Hills Estate it is late afternoon. From Al Barsha South or Emirates Hills it is early evening, and later again on a day carrying an activity or a fixture. Each school publishes its own daily timings, and that document rather than any general estimate is the one to plan from.

When can an IB session realistically start on a weekday in Arabian Ranches 2?+

For a student at JESS Arabian Ranches, half past four is realistic because the commute is short. From Motor City or The Sustainable City, five o'clock. From Dubai Hills Estate or The Meadows, half past five. From Emirates Hills or Al Barsha South, six. The advice families most often ignore and most often need is to book the slot thirty minutes later than feels necessary, because a session that always happens is worth considerably more than an earlier one that happens three weeks in four.

Which schools do Arabian Ranches 2 families use once their child reaches DP1?+

Most commonly JESS Arabian Ranches next door, which runs the English National Curriculum to IGCSE and then the IB Diploma, or one of the IB campuses a drive out: GEMS International School Al Khail in Dubai Hills Estate, Fairgreen International School in The Sustainable City, Emirates International School Meadows, Dubai International Academy Emirates Hills or Nord Anglia International School Dubai. Each publishes its own timings and internal deadline calendar. Check the current KHDA inspection report for any campus you are considering rather than relying on a summary.

Is there any IB Diploma school inside Arabian Ranches 2?+

No. Ranches Primary School sits inside the community for the early years on the British curriculum, and everything above primary happens elsewhere. That single fact shapes every scheduling decision a Diploma family here makes, because it means a daily journey out and back and a later realistic session start than in a community with a campus inside it. The nearest Diploma provision is JESS Arabian Ranches in the original Ranches community next door.

How long is the school bus run from Arabian Ranches 2 to an IB campus?+

It depends on the campus and the road rather than the distance. Al Qudra Road towards The Sustainable City moves fairly predictably. Al Khail Road towards Dubai Hills Estate and Hessa Street towards Al Barsha South both carry heavy evening traffic between five and seven. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road is the least predictable of the three. A bus route also makes several stops, so it is usually slower than a car on the same journey. Ask the school for its own route timings for your community.

Does searching for an IB tutor near me in Arabian Ranches 2 find anyone qualified?+

It will find somebody, because a proximity search always returns a result. Whether that person teaches your child's course at your child's level is a separate question, and in a residential villa community with no campus above primary level the odds are poor for scarce subjects such as Physics or Economics at Higher Level. The useful comparison is not nearby against far away; it is a neighbour against a specialist. Over live video the distance stops mattering and only subject fit and timing remain.

Should an IB session happen before or after evening sport and activities?+

After, almost always, and on a day that carries neither if possible. A student arriving at a session straight from a fixture is not in a state to work on Paper 2 technique, and one who has to leave halfway through loses the review that makes the session useful. In this community Thursday evening and the weekend are the most reliable windows precisely because activity commitments cluster earlier in the week. Map the commitments before choosing the day rather than after.

How do weekend sessions work for Arabian Ranches 2 students?+

They are the most reliable slots available here, because no commute and usually no activity is competing with them. They also allow a longer format, ninety minutes or more, which suits physics, chemistry and essay subjects where a past paper and its review do not fit inside an hour. Saturday tends to be better for past-paper work and Sunday for essay drafting and review before the week begins. Many Diploma families here run one weekday slot and one weekend block during examination terms.

Can IB lessons move to post-Iftar timing during Ramadan?+

Yes, and that is the arrangement we recommend rather than an exception we tolerate. School hours are reduced during Ramadan and the household rhythm shifts around Iftar, so the usable tutoring window moves to after the evening meal. The approach that works is to rebuild the slot once at the start of the month and hold it, rather than renegotiating week by week, which is how families lose two or three sessions to confusion. Check your campus calendar for its reduced timings.

How many weekday evenings should a DP1 student give to tutoring?+

One, in most cases, held consistently. A Diploma student already carries six subjects plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and creativity, activity, service, and in this community they also carry a daily commute. Two weekday evenings becomes sensible only where a whole subject is missing rather than drifting. Where more intensity is needed, a short block around a deadline cluster or a longer weekend session is usually better than a second weekday evening, because the student still has to do their own work.

What happens to the schedule during Dubai school exam weeks?+

The slot should usually pause rather than intensify. During a school examination week a student needs the evening to revise in their own way rather than to be taught something new, and a session that arrives in the middle of it competes with the thing it is supposed to support. The exception is a single review session on a specific paper the student has just sat and will sit again in the real series. Agree the pause in advance with the tutor rather than cancelling at short notice.

Does the Friday half-day change when an IB session can be booked?+

It can, and that is exactly why Friday is a poor anchor for a weekly slot. The UAE week has run Monday to Friday since 2022 with Friday shortened in the public sector and at many private schools, but Dubai private schools set their own daily timings, so Friday varies between campuses and sometimes between year groups at the same campus. Confirm your own school's Friday schedule, and if a Friday slot is wanted, treat it as a second session rather than the main one.

How do we fit IA deadlines around the Arabian Ranches 2 school run?+

By planning the clusters rather than reacting to them. Internal assessment deadlines are set by your child's school, not by the IB, and they arrive several at once, often with an Extended Essay interim deadline alongside. Put the school's internal calendar up in September, mark the weeks where three things are due, and plan a short block into each cluster in advance. A student commuting ninety minutes a day has fewer spare evenings to absorb a cluster than one living beside their campus.

Can a sibling in MYP share the same weekly slot pattern?+

Share the pattern, not the session. A Middle Years Programme student finishes school earlier than a Diploma sibling and works better earlier in the evening, so the sensible arrangement is an earlier slot on a different day with a different tutor matched to the subject group and criterion. Shared sessions only make sense where two children are in the same year group, the same subject group and have the same weakness. The scheduling, though, should be handled as one household calendar so no evening carries both.

What does an IB tutor cost for a family in Arabian Ranches 2?+

Published market figures put qualified online subject tutors at AED 150 to 300 an hour on Bestimate's 2026 Dubai research, with IB specialists at AED 200 to 450 and above, Unitors quoting IB from AED 200, TutorChase at AED 270 and BartyED's examiner tier at AED 650. In-home visits are quoted at AED 180 to 500 because the drive is inside the price, which is also why in-home slots in this community are so often weekend-only. Those are other companies' rates; IB Gram does not publish a rate card on this page.

Tell us the campus and the fixtures, and we will find the slot

If your child studies the IB from Arabian Ranches 2, the first useful message is not about the subject. Name the campus, the year group, the level and the two or three evenings that are already taken, and we will match a specialist to the course and a slot to your actual week rather than offering a default time that will not survive October. Then take the free trial lesson at the time you intend to use, with no card details, so the timing gets tested as well as the tutor. Lessons run live over video for every UAE family, one-to-one, in Gulf Standard Time, and the slot is rebuilt once for Ramadan rather than renegotiated weekly.
