IB DP Business Management Online Tutor in Dubai

What an IB DP Business Management online tutor in Dubai should cost, who publishes those figures, and what the money buys. Lessons for Dubai families run over live video, one student at a time, in Gulf Standard Time. IB Gram does not send tutors to UAE addresses; home visits exist only in our India service. This page publishes the AED bands on the public record with the provider or survey behind each one, so you can see where a quote sits before you accept it.

  • Every AED figure on this page names the provider or survey that published it
  • Pre-released case study work planned a full year before the paper
  • Research project kept inside the 1,800-word ceiling from the first outline

IB & IGCSE in Dubai

Start with the number, because nobody else in this search will give you one

Three of the six pages currently ranking for Business Management tutoring in Dubai publish no price at all. One of them asks the question in its own list of frequently asked questions and then declines to answer it. The two pages that do quote prices quote them in US dollars, which is not the currency a Dubai family pays in. A parent trying to work out whether AED 180 an hour is a bargain or AED 400 an hour is a rip-off currently has nothing to compare against, and that is the gap this page exists to close.

So the first substantial section here is a rate table built only from figures somebody has actually published, each one attributed. The second explains why the hourly rate is the least useful number in the decision, and what to put in its place: cost per term, cost per marked script, and cost per mark of recoverable loss. A family who books eleven hours at AED 200 and receives no marked work has spent AED 2,200 on conversation. A family who books six hours at AED 300 and receives six annotated scripts has bought something they can audit.

Business Management has a cost shape of its own, which is why a generic tutoring rate card misleads. Two of its three assessed components can be prepared long in advance and therefore cheaply. The pre-released case study arrives at schools well before the paper that uses it, which means a student with foresight can spread that preparation across months of low-intensity work instead of buying emergency hours in April. The research project is capped at 1,800 words and rewards a narrow, answerable question; the expensive version is the one where a student drafts 2,600 words around an unanswerable question and then needs paid hours to dismantle it.

The third component, the second written paper, is where hourly spend concentrates for most Dubai families, because it is unseen, it ranges across all five units, and it rewards applied analysis under time pressure. The honest version of a tuition plan prices that explicitly: a given number of timed papers, marked and returned, over a stated number of weeks. Anything vaguer than that is unpriceable, and an unpriceable plan is how a term of tutoring quietly reaches AED 6,000 without anyone deciding to spend it.

Everything below carries its source. The AED bands come from named competitor price pages and from Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate survey. The regulatory material comes from u.ae, KHDA and MoHRE. Where a figure could not be verified, including every IB examination and results date, this page says so rather than guessing, because an unsourced number repeated across a large set of pages is simply a large set of liabilities. Read the tables, then decide what an hour is worth to your household.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Business Management is a Diploma course, but the spend decision usually starts earlier. What a student brings from MYP or from IGCSE Business Studies decides whether the first block of tuition is remedial or strategic, and that changes the budget by a factor of two.

MYPAges 11-16 · MYP 1-5

Middle Years Programme

MYP Individuals and Societies builds investigation and argument against four criteria rather than business frameworks. Students arriving in DP1 from MYP are usually comfortable with extended writing and unfamiliar with applying a named analytical tool to a specific organisation. That is a cheap gap to close: tool application is teachable in a handful of sessions once the writing is already there.

Dubai's full-continuum schools send students straight from MYP 5 into DP1, so a large share of the emirate's Business Management intake has never sat a timed business paper. Budgeting one short block in the first term of DP1 costs far less than buying crisis hours in DP2.

Diploma Programme Business Management

The current guide is built on five units: introduction to business management, human resource management, finance and accounts, marketing, and operations management. A toolkit of situational and decision-making frameworks runs across all of them, with several reserved for Higher Level. Assessment is a pre-released case study paper, an unseen paper, and a business research project capped at 1,800 words.

Business Management is among the larger group three cohorts in Dubai's IB schools, which means plenty of classmates to revise with and very little individual marking time from the class teacher. The spend that pays is marking, not re-teaching content the student already has in a textbook.

IGCSEAges 14-16 · Years 10-11

IGCSE Business Studies as the pre-Diploma route

Cambridge IGCSE Business Studies 0450 covers business activity, people in business, marketing, operations and finance, and it rewards accurate recall of definitions applied to short scenarios. The Diploma asks for something different: analysis of a specific organisation using named tools, with a recommendation. Strong IGCSE performers often need the fewest hours and the sharpest redirection.

British-curriculum schools hold the largest share of Dubai's private enrolment, so IGCSE Business Studies is the commonest entry route into Diploma Business Management in the emirate. For this group, the first paid hour is usually best spent on a timed Diploma-style question rather than on revision of content already secure.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

The Career-related Programme combines two or more Diploma courses with a career-related study, a reflective project, personal and professional skills, service learning and language development. Business Management is the most frequently chosen Diploma course inside a business-oriented CP, and the assessment load for that one course is identical to the full Diploma version.

Fewer Dubai schools run CP than the full Diploma, so a CP student taking Business Management may be one of very few in their year sitting the paper. The budget question changes shape there: with no class to revise alongside, weekly one-to-one does work a cohort would otherwise do for free.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Families rarely buy one subject. The list below is costed by how much marking each subject generates, because marking time is what drives an honest hourly figure more than teaching time does.

Business Management

SL and HL

Three components: a paper built on a pre-released case study, an unseen paper spanning all five units, and a research project capped at 1,800 words. Higher Level sits a longer case study paper. Marking load is heavy, because applied analysis cannot be marked from an answer key.

Economics

SL and HL

Extended response and data response papers plus a portfolio of three short commentaries. Diagram accuracy drives a large share of the marks. A student taking both Economics and Business Management needs the two evaluation styles kept apart, which is cheaper to teach than to repair.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

SL and HL

Carries the statistics that Business Management finance and operations questions assume: percentage change, break-even arithmetic, forecasting and interpretation of tables. Weak AI statistics shows up as lost marks in the finance and accounts unit rather than in the mathematics paper.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

SL and HL

The route most business and economics degrees prefer at entry. Algebraic fluency and calculus dominate. Worth checking target university pages before subject choices close, because the mathematics route named in an offer is more often the blocker than the group three subject is.

Psychology

SL and HL

Research methods and empirical evaluation, assessed partly through an experimental internal assessment. Shares with Business Management the discipline of judging evidence rather than describing it, which is why the two subjects often improve together.

Global Politics

SL and HL

Engagement activity and oral components alongside written papers, built on contested concepts such as power and legitimacy. For a Business Management student the transferable habit is weighing stakeholder interests, which is exactly what a recommendation paragraph has to do.

Digital Society

SL and HL

Replaces the old information technology course and overlaps Business Management on operations, data and change. Assessed through written papers and an inquiry project, so the marking rhythm is similar and one tutor can sometimes hold both.

English A: Language and Literature

SL and HL

Guided analysis, comparative essay and oral components. The relevant transfer for Business Management is timed paragraph construction, which is where most unseen-paper answers lose structure in the final twenty minutes.

Computer Science

SL and HL

Written papers plus a solution-development internal assessment. The scheduling cost matters: a student taking Computer Science and Business Management meets two internal deadlines in the same term of DP2, and that collision is the single commonest cause of emergency bookings.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three booking shapes, priced differently because they consume different amounts of marking time. All of them are delivered over live video to UAE families.

Low-intensity year-long support

A fortnightly session running across DP1, used to keep pace with the five units and to prepare the pre-released case study slowly. This is the cheapest useful shape in Business Management, because the case study is the one component that can be worked on months ahead without any urgency premium attached to the hour.

  • Fortnightly rather than weekly, so the annual cost roughly halves
  • Case study preparation spread across terms instead of bought in April
  • Short written tasks set between sessions and returned with comments
  • Coverage log so no unit is quietly skipped across the year

Research project supervision block

A short, costed block of sessions covering question selection, evidence planning, tool choice and draft feedback for the business research project. The student researches and writes; the tutor teaches, questions and comments. The commercial point is that a narrow answerable question costs a fraction of the hours a vague one eventually demands.

  • Question tested for answerability before any research begins
  • Evidence plan agreed so the 1,800-word ceiling is survivable
  • Feedback on the student's own drafts, as observations rather than replacement text
  • Record kept of what the student changed between versions

Timed paper block before the series

The expensive shape, and sometimes the right one: weekly timed papers across the final term, each marked and returned with mark allocations written against each paragraph. Price this by the number of marked scripts you will receive, not by the number of hours spoken, because the marked script is the deliverable.

  • One full timed paper per week, marked against published criteria
  • Unseen paper practice spread deliberately across all five units
  • Case study paper drilled separately, since it rewards prior knowledge of the organisation
  • A written final-fortnight plan so revision is not driven by mood

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai

01

What an hour of Business Management tuition in Dubai costs, with sources

A direct answer first. On published figures, a qualified online subject tutor in Dubai charges roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, and a Diploma or IGCSE subject specialist roughly AED 200 to 450 and above, as of October 2026. In-home one-to-one is quoted higher, around AED 180 to 500, because travel sits inside the rate. Budget online tutoring, usually delivered by university students, starts far lower. Every one of those bands traces to a named source in the table below.

The table is deliberately organised by delivery format rather than by brand, for two reasons. Comparing models tells a parent something durable, whereas comparing brands tells them about one week's pricing. And quoting a competitor's rate alongside its name without the date and the source would be unfair to the competitor and useless to the reader. Each row therefore carries the publisher of the figure and the approximate monthly implication of one session a week.

What the bands do not tell you is what the hour contains. Marking a timed Business Management paper properly takes a specialist a meaningful fraction of the lesson length, because applied analysis cannot be marked against an answer key. A provider at AED 180 an hour who does not mark, and a provider at AED 320 an hour who returns an annotated script every week, are selling different products at prices that look comparable. Ask the question explicitly before booking.

IB Gram does not publish a fixed price list on these pages, and the figures above are not ours. The model here is a free trial lesson followed by a quoted plan, so a family sees the specialist, the session plan and the price together before any commitment. What this page commits to is the comparison: you can see the market, the sources, and what the hour should include, and you can hold any provider in Dubai to that standard, including this one.

02

Why the hourly rate is the least useful number in the decision

  • Ask how many marked scripts you will receive by half term
  • Ask whether marking time is inside the hourly rate or billed on top
  • Ask whether the quoted price is per hour or per session, and what a 90-minute booking costs
  • Ask what happens to a session the family cancels with 24 hours' notice
  • Ask for the cancellation and replacement policy in writing before the first payment

Two providers quote AED 220. One delivers sixty minutes of explanation and sets no work. The other delivers fifty minutes of teaching, sets a timed question, marks it against the published criteria, and returns it annotated before the next session. The second is roughly twice the product at the same headline price, and no rate card in Dubai distinguishes between them. This is why the hourly figure, on its own, is close to meaningless as a basis for comparison.

A better unit is cost per marked script. Over a twelve-week term, a family paying AED 250 a week receives AED 3,000 of service. If that produced ten annotated scripts, the family paid AED 300 per piece of individual assessment feedback on their child's actual work, which is a number they can judge. If it produced none, they paid AED 3,000 for conversation that a textbook and a willing classmate could partly have supplied. The question to ask on the enquiry call is simply: how many marked scripts will I have by half term?

The second useful unit is cost against the component weighting. Business Management splits across a case study paper, an unseen paper and a research project, and they do not reward the same kind of spending. The case study is prepared months ahead at low intensity, so hours bought early are cheap hours. The research project is bounded at 1,800 words, so the money goes on question selection rather than on drafting marathons. The unseen paper is where emergency hours cluster, because it is the component that cannot be prepared in advance.

The third thing worth pricing is the thing nobody prices: the cost of a bad match. Four weeks with a tutor who turns out to be a general business graduate rather than a Diploma specialist costs the fees plus the four weeks. That is the real argument for making the first session a free diagnostic with a written output, and for reviewing the file at six weeks rather than at the end of the year. A decision point built into the plan is worth more than a discount.

03

The five units, and what each one costs in tutoring hours

Tutoring cost in Business Management is not spread evenly across the course. Some units are expensive to repair because they are quantitative and compound: a student who never understood contribution per unit will fail every downstream break-even and investment appraisal question, and the repair is sequential rather than parallel. Other units are cheap to repair because the content is accessible and the lost marks come from answer structure rather than from understanding.

The table maps that. Read the fourth column as the reason for the cost, not as an opinion about difficulty. Finance and accounts is the expensive unit in almost every Dubai cohort we see, because its numerical chains cannot be short-cut and because students who avoid it in DP1 arrive in DP2 with a two-term deficit. Human resource management is usually the cheapest to improve, because the content is intuitive and the marks are lost in application rather than in comprehension.

This matters for budgeting because it lets a family buy hours against a diagnosis rather than against the calendar. A student losing marks across marketing and operations needs structure work, which responds quickly to marked practice. A student who cannot calculate a break-even point needs teaching, which takes longer and should be bought earlier. Spending the same amount of money in the right order is the whole of cost control in subject tutoring.

The toolkit of analytical frameworks runs across all five units and deserves separate budget. Situational tools and decision-making tools are both examinable, several of them are reserved for Higher Level, and students who deploy them decoratively rather than analytically lose marks in both papers. Teaching a tool to the point where it changes a recommendation takes one session per tool and pays back across every unit.

04

The pre-released case study: the one component you can prepare a year out

One of the two written papers is built on a case study issued to schools in advance of the examination series. That single fact is the biggest cost lever available to a Dubai family, and almost nobody uses it. A student who reads the organisation carefully over several months, researches its industry, maps the relevant tools onto its actual circumstances and rehearses the likely decision questions walks into that paper with prepared material. A student who meets the case study three weeks before the paper buys expensive hours to do compressed work.

The preparation is also unusually suitable for low-intensity online sessions. Thirty minutes a fortnight spent interrogating the organisation, with reading set between sessions, accumulates into deep familiarity without disrupting anything else. Over video, the case study document sits on a shared screen and gets annotated collaboratively, which is more effective than reading it alone and considerably cheaper than crisis tutoring in the final term.

What the preparation cannot do is predict the questions, and any tutor implying otherwise should be treated with scepticism. The value is in knowing the organisation well enough that no question is spent on comprehension, so the whole of the writing time goes on analysis and recommendation. Higher Level students sit a longer version of this paper, which typically includes additional unseen stimulus material alongside the familiar case, so familiarity with the organisation buys even more there.

There is an academic-honesty boundary in this work that is worth naming. A tutor may teach the frameworks, question the student's reading of the organisation, and comment on practice answers. A tutor may not supply pre-written answers to be reproduced in the examination room, and a student who memorises someone else's paragraphs is both cheating and likely to misfire, because the question will not match. The preparation that is permitted is also the preparation that works.

05

The research project, the 1,800-word ceiling, and where the money goes

  • Test the research question for answerability before any research is done
  • Keep the draft inside 1,800 words from the outline stage, not by late cutting
  • Use each analytical tool to change a conclusion, never as decoration
  • Feedback arrives as questions and observations; the student does every revision

The internally assessed component is a research project on a real business issue, capped at 1,800 words and supported by evidence the student gathers. The word ceiling is the discipline, and it is also the budget. A tight, answerable question built on evidence the student can genuinely obtain fits inside 1,800 words with room for analysis. A broad question about a large organisation's overall strategy does not, and the hours spent cutting an over-length draft are the most wasteful hours in the whole subject.

So the paid time that pays for itself sits at the start. Testing a question for answerability takes one session and saves several. The test is mechanical: name the evidence that would answer this question, say where the student will get it, and check whether an analytical tool can be applied to it meaningfully. A question that fails any of those three should be changed in week one rather than defended in week nine. Dubai students often start from a family business or a well-known local organisation, which is a good instinct provided the access to evidence is real rather than assumed.

Draft feedback is the second legitimate spend, and it has firm boundaries. A tutor may read a draft, identify where the analysis thins out, point to a tool used decoratively, note that a recommendation has been asserted rather than justified, and ask what evidence supports a claim. A tutor may not author any part of the submission, supply paragraphs for insertion, or edit prose until the voice has changed. The student is the author of every word, and a record of what changed between drafts is worth keeping for exactly that reason.

A closing cost note on supervision. Any provider offering to supply finished assessed work, at any price, should be refused. One operator in this search results page sells completed internal assessments outright, which is an academic-integrity breach that triggers IB malpractice procedures, and the consequence falls on the student rather than the seller. The cheapest possible outcome in this subject is the one where nothing has to be withdrawn and resubmitted.

06

Cost in context: Dubai school fees, exam entry and the 2026-27 fee freeze

A tutoring invoice reads differently once it sits beside the other education costs a Dubai household already carries. Dubai's private school sector served 387,441 students across 227 private schools in 2024-25, offering seventeen different curricula, with UK curriculum schools at 37 per cent of enrolment, Indian at 26, US at 14 and International Baccalaureate at 7. The Diploma is therefore a minority curriculum in a very large market, which is part of why specialist Diploma tutors command the upper rate bands.

The timing is unusually favourable for budgeting. KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there would be no increase in private school fees in Dubai for the 2026-27 academic year, under the emirate's second economic incentives package. A family planning two years of Diploma support is therefore working against a flat school fee rather than a rising one. Dubai's 2026-27 intake also adds seven new private schools, four UK curriculum and three International Baccalaureate, creating 16,846 new places.

The table below places a tutoring line item against the other numbers in the same household budget. Figures that are published are marked as such; figures that vary enormously by school, including fees themselves, are described as bands rather than invented as points. No entry here is a quote from this platform, and school fees should always be read from the school's own KHDA-published fee listing rather than from any third party.

One further context point. Group revision classes at a tuition centre cost less per student per hour than one-to-one, and for a student who is broadly secure and needs pace they can be good value. For a student with a specific diagnosable weakness, group provision does not include individual script marking, which is the thing that actually moves the mark. Cheap provision that cannot deliver the mechanism is not a saving, which is the one place where the lowest number on a rate card is the wrong choice.

Who may legally charge you for private tutoring in the UAE

Private tutoring in the UAE operates under a permit regime, and the cost question and the legality question are connected: a provider quoting an unusually low cash rate is sometimes a provider operating outside it. The private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is issued through MoHRE, and is granted free of charge for two years. There is no fee for the tutor to pass on, so no rate should be justified by the cost of the permit.

Eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, employees in government and private sectors, unemployed individuals, university students, and school students aged 15 to 18. MoHRE's own service page for it is titled issuance of a new work permit for private tutor licensing, lists no fees, states a two-working-day completion time, and is applied for through the MoHRE smart app, website and e-services system. Individuals offering private tutoring without a permit are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws; the ministry has not published a fine schedule, so no amount appears here.

A tutoring operation with premises and staff in Dubai is a different legal animal from an individual tutor. That requires a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, with initial approval first and annual renewal requested at least thirty days before expiry. IB Gram does not hold that permit, does not operate premises in the UAE, and nothing on this page should be read as a claim to any regulator's approval or endorsement. Delivery here is live video, one to one, from tutors working remotely.

There is one more boundary worth knowing before you pay anyone. In Abu Dhabi, ADEK's professional-ethics rules bar private and charter school staff from paid private tutoring of students enrolled at their own school, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct also restricts serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school. That is press-reported rather than taken from the current policy text, so verify it with ADEK if it bears on a decision. The underlying principle holds across the UAE: paying the person who marks your child's internal work is a conflict of interest, whatever the rate.

Scheduling a Business Management session into a Dubai week

The free hours in a Dubai Diploma student's week are fewer than the subject list implies, and a session booked into a slot that does not really exist is money spent on cancellations. KHDA requires Arabic, Islamic Education and social or moral studies in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, with those requirements to be implemented by the start of the 2025-26 academic year, or April 2026 where the school year begins in April. Instructional time for them is calculated on a 40-minute lesson unit.

KHDA also requires separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, and combined classes are prohibited because curriculum expectations and the language of instruction differ. More discrete timetable blocks means less timetable slack, and a family that picks one fixed weekly slot and protects it loses fewer paid sessions than a family that arranges each week by message. For the mandatory subjects, additional or different content without prior Ministry permission is not permitted, which is a genuine constraint on how any Arabic or Islamic Education support can be described.

Ramadan moves the whole pattern later, and a post-Iftar slot is a normal arrangement that costs nothing extra over video. Internal deadlines cluster in DP2, so a student taking Business Management alongside a science and a language will meet several internal submissions inside a few weeks. Mapping those at the start of DP1 is unglamorous and it prevents the emergency bookings that cost the most per hour.

On examination timing, this page publishes no IB dates. The IB's own website blocks automated checking, so no session or results date here is confirmed from the IB directly; UAE schools sit the May session and some candidates sit November, and the exact windows belong to the school's Diploma coordinator or ibo.org. For families also sitting Cambridge or Pearson papers, the published pattern is instructive, because those boards run two series a year in this region and the choice between them is a real one. A Cambridge candidate in the UAE sits June as the main series and November as the resit route; a Pearson Edexcel International GCSE candidate chooses between May/June and November in the same way, and Pearson's November 2026 timetable ran to 19 November 2026 with results reaching students the following January. Both boards close entries months ahead of the papers, which is why the school registrar files them and why leaving the administration to the student is how an entry gets missed.

Where we tutor

Areas we cover across Dubai

Where a Dubai family lives changes the price of in-home tutoring and makes no difference at all to the price of online tutoring. The notes below are about that gap, community by community.

Jumeirah Village Circle and Al Furjan

Popular with families budgeting carefully, and a long drive from the main Diploma school corridor. In-home quotes here tend to sit at the upper end of the AED 180-500 band because travel time is priced in.

Motor City and Dubai Sports City

Mid-market communities with good local school provision and heavy school-run congestion on Hessa Street. An online slot at 17:00 is viable here; an in-home slot at 17:00 usually is not.

The Greens, Barsha Heights and Al Quoz

Apartment living with short commutes to work and long ones to school. Sixty-minute online sessions suit this cluster better than two-hour blocks, and shorter sessions keep the weekly cost predictable.

Sobha Hartland, Meydan and Nad Al Sheba

Newer villa communities with established Diploma schools within reach. Families here more often ask about two-year budgeting than about a single term, which changes the sensible session length.

Dubai Investments Park and The Sustainable City

Further out, with strong local international provision. This is the part of the emirate where the travel component of an in-home rate is most visible, and where the online case makes itself without argument.

Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina

Higher quoted rates across most household services, tutoring included. Comparing a local quote against the published market bands in the table below is particularly worth doing in these two communities.

Mirdif and Dubai Silicon Oasis

Dense school provision and a mixed curriculum intake, so Business Management students arrive from both MYP and IGCSE routes. The first diagnostic session is what tells you which budget applies.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai

Sobha Hartland, Meydan and Nad Al Sheba

A newer cluster with established Diploma provision nearby. Business Management cohorts here are sizeable, which means the class teacher's marking capacity is spread thin across a group with the same research project deadline. Students we support attend schools in this area; no relationship with any of them is implied.

  • North London Collegiate School Dubai
  • GEMS Modern Academy
  • Hartland International School
  • Repton School Dubai

Dubai Investments Park, The Sustainable City and Al Barsha South

International provision serving the southern and western communities. Several schools in this cluster run the full IB continuum, so a proportion of Business Management students arrive from MYP rather than from IGCSE Business Studies, and the opening tuition plan differs accordingly.

  • Greenfield International School
  • Fairgreen International School
  • Bloom World Academy
  • Dwight School Dubai
  • Nord Anglia International School Dubai

School names appear here only as context for Dubai's IB ecosystem. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform and holds no affiliation, endorsement or commercial arrangement with any school, school group, KHDA or the IB Organization.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Say which component and which unit

Business Management, finance and accounts, unseen paper, nine weeks to go is a brief that can be priced. Needs help with business is not. Naming the component and the unit determines which specialist fits and how many hours the work genuinely requires, which is what makes a quote honest.

  2. 02

Free trial lesson with a written output

The first session costs nothing and produces something: a short timed question attempted live, marked, and returned with the specific habits it exposed written down. That document is what you judge the match on, before any money moves. A trial that produces only a conversation has told you nothing.

  3. 03

Get the plan and the price in writing together

Before a block starts, you should have the session count, the frequency, the units to be covered, how many marked scripts you will receive, the per-session price, and the cancellation terms. Every item on that list is a cost driver, and anything absent from it tends to be absent in practice too.

  4. 04

Weekly or fortnightly sessions with work returned marked

Sessions run over live video at a fixed slot in Gulf Standard Time. Set work comes back annotated against the published criteria before the next session, so each paid hour starts from a named weakness rather than a general review. Fortnightly is the cheaper shape and often the right one in DP1.

  5. 05

Review at six weeks against what you received

Count the marked scripts, read the feedback, and decide: continue, change frequency, change tutor or stop. If no Business Management specialist is free in your window, you are told at the enquiry rather than matched with a general business graduate and charged specialist rates for it.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Published rates, attributed, in AED

Every figure on this page names the provider or survey that published it. That is uncommon in this market: three of the six pages ranking for these searches quote no price, and the two that do quote in dollars. You can hold any Dubai provider to the bands in the table above, including this one.

No travel cost in either direction

Delivery to UAE families is live video, so there is no travel time inside the rate and no commute at the student's end. In-home quotes in Dubai sit at AED 180 to 500 an hour partly because somebody is driving. Removing that cost is a real saving, not a marketing line.

Marked scripts as the deliverable

The unit worth comparing is cost per annotated script, not cost per hour of talking. Timed work marked against published criteria and returned before the next session is what changes a Business Management answer, and it is what the quoted plan commits to in writing.

The cheap hours bought early

The pre-released case study can be prepared at low intensity across months, which makes fortnightly DP1 sessions the best value in this subject. A plan that front-loads cheap preparation and reserves intensive work for the unseen paper costs less across two years than crisis booking does in one term.

Honest limits on what can be promised

No grade guarantee, no fabricated statistics, no claim of KHDA, MoHRE or IB approval, which this platform does not hold. No offer to produce assessed work at any price. Where availability for a component is thin, that is said at the enquiry rather than discovered in week three.

Specialists chosen on subject, not drive time

Because sessions run over video across the UAE, the match is made on depth in Diploma Business Management rather than on who lives near your community. A family in Dubai Investments Park gets the same pool as a family in Al Barsha, which is not true of any in-home arrangement.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai: your questions answered

What should an IB DP Business Management online tutor in Dubai cost per hour?+

On published Dubai figures as of October 2026, a qualified online subject tutor sits at roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour and a Diploma subject specialist at roughly AED 200 to 450 and above. Unitors publishes IB rates from AED 200, TutorChase publishes AED 270, and Bestimate's 2026 Dubai rate survey puts specialist exam-year work in the AED 200 to 450 and above band. Those are market rates from the sources named, not a price list for this platform. The more useful question is what the hour contains, because a rate that excludes marking is a different product at the same headline number.

For Business Management, does a monthly package beat an hourly booking in Dubai?+

It can be, and the condition attached is what decides it. Packages seen on the Dubai market include around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to 1,799 a month for four two-hour in-home visits. The effective hourly rate inside a package is usually below the equivalent single-session rate, which is the point of it. What to check is what happens to unused sessions, whether a cancelled session rolls forward, and whether the package includes marking of timed work. A cheaper rate that quietly forfeits two sessions a month is not cheaper.

Which Business Management unit takes the most tutoring hours to repair?+

Finance and accounts, in almost every cohort. Its content is sequential, so a student who never secured contribution per unit will mis-handle break-even, cash flow forecasting, ratio interpretation and investment appraisal downstream, and those cannot be fixed in parallel. Repair therefore takes teaching time rather than practice time, which is slower and more expensive. Human resource management and the introductory unit are usually the cheapest to improve, because the content is intuitive and the lost marks come from answer structure, which responds quickly to marked timed practice. Diagnose before buying hours, and buy the expensive repair early.

How far in advance does the Business Management case study reach schools?+

The case study used for one of the two written papers is released to schools ahead of the examination series, well before the paper itself. Confirm the exact release and the version your child's school holds with the Diploma coordinator, since this page publishes no IB dates: the IB's own site blocks automated checking, so nothing here is confirmed from the IB directly. What matters commercially is the implication. Months of low-intensity preparation on the organisation costs a fraction of compressed work in the final term, which makes early fortnightly sessions the best-value shape available in this subject.

How long is the business research project allowed to be?+

The project is capped at 1,800 words in the current guide, and the ceiling should shape the question rather than the editing. A narrow question with identifiable evidence fits inside the limit with room left for analysis and a justified recommendation. A broad question about a large organisation's whole strategy does not, and cutting an over-length draft back is the most wasteful work in the subject. The practical sequence is to test the question for answerability first, agree where the evidence comes from, then outline to the word budget. Confirm the current limit with the school's coordinator before drafting begins.

Does Higher Level sit a longer case study paper than Standard Level?+

Yes. The Higher Level version of the case study paper runs longer and typically carries additional unseen stimulus material alongside the familiar organisation, which is why deep familiarity with the case pays back more at Higher Level than at Standard Level. The written paper spanning all five units and the research project are common to both levels. For a family budgeting, the implication is that Higher Level students get more value from early low-intensity case study preparation, and that the extra paper length is a reason to practise under full timing rather than on single questions.

Is a group revision class a cheaper way to prepare for the written papers?+

Per student per hour, yes, and for the right student it is genuinely good value. Group provision works when a student is broadly secure and needs pace, structure and the discipline of a timetable. It does not work when the problem is a specific diagnosable weakness, because group formats almost never include individual script marking, and individual marking is the mechanism that moves an applied-analysis mark. Paying less for a format that cannot deliver the mechanism is not a saving. Diagnose first, then choose the format that matches the diagnosis rather than the budget.

What does the management toolkit actually add to an answer?+

A tool earns marks when it changes the conclusion and loses marks when it decorates the answer. A student who draws a framework, labels it correctly and then recommends what they would have recommended anyway has spent writing time for nothing. A student who uses the same framework to show which option survives scrutiny has used it analytically. The toolkit splits into situational and decision-making frameworks, with several reserved for Higher Level. Teaching each tool to the point where it alters a recommendation takes about one session per tool and pays back across both written papers.

Do tutoring rates in Dubai rise as the examination series approaches?+

Availability tightens and rates firm up rather than soften, which is a reason to plan early rather than a reason to panic. Specialist Diploma tutors fill their best slots first, so the family booking in February for an April start is choosing from a thinner pool at the top of the published bands. The counter-move is the cheap-hours strategy: fortnightly sessions through DP1 on case study preparation and foundational units, then a short intensive block for timed papers. That shape costs less across two years than any single term of emergency booking does.

Does the quoted hourly rate include marking a timed paper?+

Ask, because the answer varies and it is the largest hidden variable in Dubai tutoring pricing. Marking a Business Management response properly takes a specialist a meaningful share of a lesson's length, since applied analysis cannot be checked against an answer key. Some providers include it, some bill it separately, and some simply do not do it. A rate card gives no clue either way. Get the answer in writing alongside the session count, the units to be covered and the cancellation terms, and compare providers on cost per marked script rather than on the headline hourly figure.

Can one tutor cover both Business Management and Economics for the same student?+

Sometimes, and it is worth checking rather than assuming. The two subjects reward different answers: Economics wants diagram accuracy and theoretical chains of reasoning, Business Management wants application to a specific organisation using named tools. A tutor strong in one and merely competent in the other will improve one grade and leave the other alone. Where a genuine specialist in both is available, a single tutor reduces cost and keeps the two evaluation styles deliberately separate, which students taking both subjects frequently confuse. Where they are not, two specialists beat one generalist at the same combined price.

Is Business Management a weaker Diploma choice than Economics for a business degree?+

Entry requirements rarely turn on which group three subject was taken, and more often on the mathematics route and the overall points. Some courses name Higher Level Mathematics or a specific mathematics option; few name Business Management or Economics specifically. The reliable method is to read the admissions pages of three or four target universities before subject choices close at the end of DP1, and to note whether Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation is specified. No tutoring page, this one included, is a source for an admissions requirement.

What should a Dubai family budget for two years of Business Management support?+

Work from a shape rather than a single number. A fortnightly session across DP1 at the mid band, a short research project supervision block, and a weekly timed-paper block in the final term is the pattern most families settle into. Using Bestimate's published monthly bands, mid-market weekly sessions run roughly AED 600 to 1,200 a month and specialist exam-year work roughly AED 1,000 to 2,000 and above. Fortnightly roughly halves the monthly figure. Build the estimate from the frequency you actually need in each term, then hold the provider to the marked-script count.

Who in the UAE is allowed to charge for private tutoring?+

Private tutoring is permit-regulated. The private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is issued through MoHRE, and is granted free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. MoHRE's service page lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time. Tutoring without a permit attracts fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule has been published, so no amount is quoted here. A business with premises needs a KHDA training-institute permit instead.

Are there cheaper options than one-to-one for a student only slightly behind?+

Yes, and they are worth trying first. A student who understands the content and loses marks to structure can often be fixed by past papers marked by their own teacher, a study group working through the case study together, and the published assessment criteria used as a self-check list. That costs nothing. One-to-one earns its rate when the weakness is specific, when individual marking is the missing mechanism, or when nobody at the school has capacity to read the student's own work closely. Spending money before exhausting the free options is the commonest avoidable cost in this market.

The free trial lesson is a diagnostic with a written output: a short timed question attempted live over video, marked, and returned with the habits it exposed named in writing. You then receive a plan that states the session count, the units, how many marked scripts you will get and what it costs, before any money moves. Lessons for UAE families run online, one to one, in Gulf Standard Time around a Dubai school day. If no Business Management specialist is free in your window, we say so at the enquiry rather than substituting a generalist at specialist rates.
