Edexcel IGCSE Accounting 4AC1 Home Tutor in Dubai

Searching for an Edexcel IGCSE Accounting 4AC1 home tutor in Dubai is a reasonable thing to type, and this page answers it straight: IB Gram teaches 4AC1 one-to-one online over live video to families across Dubai, and does not make home visits anywhere in the UAE. What replaces the doorbell is evidence you can hold, starting with a marked script read before the first lesson, then a written note every week and annotated papers kept in your own folder.

  • A marked 4AC1 script is read before any lesson is planned
  • Written note after every session naming what moved and what did not
  • Annotated papers stay with your family, not on a tutor's laptop
  • No home visits in the UAE; lessons run over live video instead

IB & IGCSE in Dubai

You cannot judge teaching you never see, so this page is about what you get to see

A parent who hires an in-home tutor at least gets to watch. You hear the explanation from the next room, you see the exercise book afterwards, and you form a view. Move the same lesson onto video and that casual oversight disappears, which is the real objection behind most searches for a home tutor rather than an online one. It is a fair objection and it deserves a mechanical answer rather than reassurance, so this page sets out exactly what evidence a 4AC1 arrangement produces and when you receive it.

The evidence starts before the teaching does. Nobody at IB Gram plans a first Accounting lesson from a phone conversation. The teacher reads the candidate's most recent marked script, a class test or returned homework, and writes down the error types they can see in it. That written note is the baseline, and it exists before you have paid anything. A tutor who cannot tell you from a marked paper what is going wrong has not yet earned the hour, and you should be able to test that claim at no cost.

Accounting makes this unusually easy to verify, because the subject leaves a trail. Every answer is a ledger account, a journal entry, a statement or a set of workings. There is no essay to interpret and no verbal performance to judge. A posting is either on the right side or it is not. So the weekly note on a 4AC1 arrangement can be concrete in a way that a report on an English session struggles to be: it names the adjustment, the direction of the error and whether the same fault recurred from the previous fortnight.

Pearson helps here too. Its mark schemes for accounting components credit method as well as answer, and carry own-figure rules that let a correct process applied to an earlier wrong number still earn marks. Teaching to that structure produces visible, trackable gains, because a candidate can move several marks without the final figure ever becoming correct. Parents watching only the total miss that movement entirely, which is why the notes you receive report component marks and method credit rather than a single percentage.

None of this promises a grade, and nothing on this page will. Examination outcomes depend on the candidate, the paper and the day, and no tutor controls any of the three. What an evidence-led arrangement can commit to is that you will know, every single week, what was taught, what was marked, which faults repeated from earlier weeks and what the next session is going to target. If that record stops being worth the money it costs, you will be able to see as much from the record itself rather than from a vague feeling at the end of the term.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

An Accounting candidate in Dubai passes through three points where the evidence you need changes shape. Early on it is about whether the recording system has been built; later it is about marks per paper; at the end it is about whether a retake is worth paying for.

Year 10Ages 14-15 · Year 10

Building the recording system

The first year of 4AC1 builds double entry, day books, the cash book and the ledger, finishing at the trial balance. Faults introduced here survive into every later statement, so the useful evidence in Year 10 is not a grade. It is whether the candidate can post an unfamiliar transaction correctly without prompting, which a teacher can test in four minutes and report on honestly.

Dubai schools vary in when they start 4AC1 content, because some run a three-year Key Stage 4 from Year 9 and others compress it into two years. Ask the department which model your child's campus uses. A candidate on a compressed timetable will meet the year-end adjustments far earlier than a parent expects, and the evidence worth asking for shifts correspondingly sooner.

Year 11Ages 15-16 · Year 11

Marks per paper, not topics covered

By the second year the question stops being what has been taught and becomes how many marks each component is returning. Mocks give the first real data. Reading them properly means separating marks lost to content, marks lost to format and marks lost to running out of time, because those three need different fixes and a grade on the front page hides all of them.

Dubai mock seasons cluster in November and again in February, which gives families two usable data points before the summer series. Many schools in the emirate issue a mock grade without a component breakdown. Asking the subject teacher for the marks per component, rather than the overall grade, is the single most useful request a Dubai parent can make, and it costs nothing.

ResultsAfter the series · Years 11-12

Deciding what the evidence says about a retake

Pearson results arrive with component marks. A candidate three marks below a grade boundary on one component and thirty below on another is in a completely different position from one evenly short across both, and only the breakdown tells you which. A retake costs an entry fee and a term of effort, so the decision should rest on that breakdown rather than on disappointment.

In Dubai, where results land during the August holiday for the summer series and in January for November entries, the practical difficulty is that the school is often closed or mid-term when the decision has to be made. Having the component figures in hand, and a teacher who has read them, is what makes a calm decision possible in that window.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Each area below carries a specific, observable failure mode. These are the things a weekly note can report on honestly, because they are either happening or they are not.

Posting an unfamiliar transaction

4AC1 recording content

The four-minute diagnostic that tells you whether double entry is a model or a memorised slogan. A candidate who hesitates on direction, rather than on which accounts are involved, has a structural gap worth reporting immediately.

Journal entries that reverse an error

4AC1 error correction

Correcting an error means reversing the original entry, not patching the destination account. Candidates who patch produce answers that look plausible and score nothing. This is visible in a script at a glance, which makes it easy evidence.

Control account differences explained in words

4AC1 reconciliation content

The mark scheme wants the difference accounted for, not eliminated. A candidate who forces a total to agree has learned the wrong objective, and the fault shows up identically on every reconciliation question they attempt.

Depreciation posted to the correct side

4AC1 year-end adjustments

Calculation marks are usually secured and posting marks are usually not. Tracking these separately in a weekly note shows movement that a single grade would hide completely, because the arithmetic was never the problem.

Paired adjustments completed in both statements

4AC1 year-end adjustments

Accruals, prepayments and the allowance for irrecoverable debts each have two consequences. Half-completed adjustments are the most common recurring fault in the subject, and they are countable, so they belong in the report.

Statement format reproduced from memory

4AC1 financial statements

Headings, subtotals and the order of current assets carry marks before any figure is checked. A candidate who can draw the blank pro-forma under time has banked those marks; one who cannot loses them silently every time.

Incomplete records worked backwards

4AC1 applied content

Reconstructing figures from mark-up, margin and control totals separates confident candidates from procedural ones. Progress here is slow and visible, which makes it a good indicator of whether understanding is genuinely deepening.

Three-part interpretation answers

4AC1 higher-tariff questions

Comparison, cause, consequence. Candidates reliably write the first and stop. Counting how many interpretation answers reach three parts is the clearest single measure of whether exam technique is improving week to week.

Own-figure marks claimed correctly

4AC1 across all components

Where a mark scheme allows own-figure credit, carrying an earlier wrong number forward consistently still earns method marks. Candidates who restart the question instead lose them. Teaching this changes scores without changing understanding.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Each of the three arrangements below produces a different kind of record. Choose on the evidence you actually need rather than on how much teaching time the package contains.

Baseline diagnostic, two or three sessions

The teacher reads the marked script, reproduces the suspected fault on a fresh question to confirm it is real rather than a bad day, and hands back a written plan naming the error types in priority order. Plenty of families stop at this point and work through the plan themselves, which is a legitimate and inexpensive outcome.

  • Faults confirmed by reproduction, not inferred from one paper
  • Written plan in priority order, yours to keep
  • An honest finding where the problem is timing rather than Accounting
  • No commitment to continue attached to it

Weekly teaching with a recurrence log

One hour a week following the school's own topic order, with a short timed question every session marked against the published criteria. The teacher keeps a log of which error types appear and in which week, so a fault that was explained in October and reappears in January is visible rather than forgotten.

  • Weekly timed question, marked line by line
  • Recurrence log carried across the whole arrangement
  • Note after each session, sent the same day
  • Component marks reported rather than an overall score

Pre-series block with paper-level tracking

Six to ten weeks before a Pearson window, full past material sat to time. Priority is set by marks lost per hour of revision rather than by topic order, and the record shifts from error types to marks per component so the final weeks are spent where the return is largest.

  • Full papers to time, marked against the published scheme
  • Marks per component tracked paper by paper
  • Separate tally of interpretation answers reaching three parts
  • A defined stop point before the exam day

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai

01

What a home tutor for 4AC1 means in Dubai, and how this is actually delivered

Parents in Dubai search for a home tutor for sensible reasons: supervision, no travel for the child, and the sense that someone in the room is more accountable than someone on a screen. The market serves that demand at roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour with travel inside the rate, as advertised across the emirate in October 2026, and monthly in-home blocks around AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour visits. Those are real options and nothing here argues they are worthless.

IB Gram does not sell them. There are no home visits anywhere in the UAE on this platform, and home visiting is a service offered only in India. Stating that in the second paragraph rather than the footer is the point: a page that targets the phrase and then quietly delivers something else wastes your afternoon. What is on offer is one-to-one teaching over live video, timed to Gulf Standard Time, with a documented record attached to it.

The honest comparison is not presence against absence. It is supervision against specialist access and written evidence. A Dubai family restricted to tutors who can reach their community by half past four is choosing from a small pool, and for Accounting that pool is small to begin with. The same family choosing online selects from commerce specialists across overlapping time zones, and gets a weekly written record of what happened. The table sets both options out on the measures that actually differ.

The own-figure rule, and how a Pearson accounting mark scheme really awards marks

Most families assume an accounting answer is right or wrong. Pearson mark schemes for accounting components do not work that way. They credit method as well as outcome, and they carry own-figure provisions: where a candidate has made an earlier error and then applies the correct process to their own incorrect number, the later marks are still available. A candidate who understands this scores several marks on a question whose final figure never becomes correct, and a candidate who does not scores zero on the same work.

That has two practical consequences. The first is behavioural. Candidates who spot an earlier mistake mid-question often restart, run out of time and abandon the final parts, where most of the marks sit. The correct instruction is to carry the figure forward, label it, and complete the question. Teaching that takes one session and is worth more than a term of content revision for some candidates. It is also observable: either the script shows a completed question or it shows an abandoned one.

The second consequence is about reporting. If method and own-figure marks are available, then progress is measurable below the level of the grade. A weekly note can say that interpretation answers reaching three parts rose from one in four to three in four, or that paired adjustments were completed in both statements on every attempt this fortnight. Those are the sentences you should expect. A report that says your child is improving nicely has told you nothing a mark scheme could verify.

03

Twelve weeks of 4AC1, and the evidence each block produces

A twelve-week arrangement is long enough to change something and short enough to judge. What follows is the shape most 4AC1 blocks take for a candidate who has the recording topics and is losing marks in the year-end adjustments and the interpretation questions, which describes the majority of requests from Dubai. A candidate with gaps in double entry itself needs the first four weeks spent differently, and the teacher will say so after reading the script rather than after week three.

The sequence matters. Adjustments come before statements, because a statement built on a wrong adjustment cannot be marked usefully. Interpretation comes late, because it needs completed statements to interpret. Timed full papers come last, because they are a measurement instrument rather than a teaching method, and spending week two on a full paper produces a score and no learning. Families who ask for mock papers from the first session are usually asking for reassurance rather than progress.

Each block below names what you should actually receive at the end of it. If a block passes and the evidence described in the table has not arrived, that is a reason to ask a direct question rather than wait for the next report. The whole arrangement is designed so that you can tell it is working without having to take anyone's word for it, which is the only sustainable answer to the oversight problem that sends Dubai parents looking for a home tutor in the first place.

04

Four diagnostics that tell you whether 4AC1 teaching is working

The first diagnostic is recurrence. Any fault can be explained once and appear to be fixed. The question is whether it returns six weeks later under exam pressure, which is why a recurrence log is kept rather than a topic checklist. A tutor who cannot tell you whether the depreciation posting error has reappeared since October is not tracking the thing that determines the grade. Explanation is cheap; unlearning a procedural habit is the work.

The second is completion. Count abandoned questions. A candidate who restarts after spotting an earlier error and then runs out of time loses marks that were available under own-figure rules. The proportion of questions finished, regardless of accuracy, is a clean measure of whether exam discipline is improving. It needs no judgement to report and it moves quickly once a candidate trusts the rule.

The third is format independence: can the candidate draw the statement layout from memory, under time, with no prompt and no textbook open beside them? Those marks are awarded before any figure is checked and they are lost silently when the layout is only half remembered. The fourth is interpretation depth, counted as the share of written answers that reach a comparison, a cause and a consequence rather than stopping at the first of the three. All four measures are countable, all four appear in the weekly note by name, and none of them requires anyone to make a promise about a grade.

05

Dubai terms, Ramadan and the weeks revision actually has

The usable revision weeks in a Dubai academic year are fewer than the calendar suggests, and planning from the calendar rather than from the real weeks is how families run out of time. The school year in the emirate runs from late August or early September to early July across three terms, with a winter break in late December and a spring break in the second half of the academic year. The working and school week runs Monday to Friday, so weekend sessions mean Saturday and Sunday.

Ramadan shifts roughly eleven days earlier each year, which places it inside the spring term for the coming cycle and therefore directly across the run-up to the summer series. School days shorten during the month, concentration patterns change, and families who fast reasonably want sessions moved later in the evening. Confirm the announced dates each year rather than working from an estimate, then plan around them deliberately. Sessions after Iftar work well for many households and badly for others, and the only way to know is to try one and ask.

Pearson's two series give the year its real structure. The November window runs late in the first term, with the November 2026 final timetable running from late October to 19 November 2026, and results arriving the following January, as the November 2025 series results reached students on 22 January 2026. The summer series sits after the spring break. The table counts the available weeks honestly, which usually surprises families who assumed the spring term was long.

Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies running alongside 4AC1

A Dubai timetable is not only the international curriculum. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social and Moral Studies are mandatory in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed curriculum the school teaches, and KHDA's requirements were to be implemented by the start of the 2025-26 academic year. That means a 4AC1 candidate is carrying mandatory subjects alongside their option blocks, and the hours have to come from somewhere. Families who plan Accounting revision as though the week contained only examined subjects discover the shortfall in February.

The rules are specific enough to be worth knowing. KHDA requires separate classes by group: for Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, schools must organise separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs, and combined classes for both groups are strictly prohibited because the curriculum expectations and language of instruction differ. Standard Arabic is required as the main language of instruction for Islamic Education for Arabs and for Arabic as a first language, with the school's licensed-curriculum language used for non-Arabs in Islamic Education and in Moral, Social and Cultural studies.

Two further details affect planning. KHDA calculates mandatory-subject instructional time on a 40-minute lesson unit, schools may vary lesson length provided the total weekly time is met, and it is advised that any mandatory subject lesson runs at least 25 minutes. Schools must also ensure that all teachers of Islamic Education and Arabic hold the appropriate KHDA approval to teach those subjects. For the mandatory subjects, using different or additional content without prior permission from the Ministry of Education is strictly prohibited, so support in those subjects follows the school's material rather than an alternative scheme.

07

What a progress report may say, and what it must never promise

A useful report is boring. It names the topic taught, the questions attempted, the marks awarded against the published criteria, the error types that appeared, and whether any of them had appeared before. It ends with what the next session will target. Nothing in it is an adjective. A parent reading six of those in a row can see a trend without being told there is one, and can see the absence of a trend just as clearly, which is the point of writing them down.

What a report must never contain is a predicted outcome dressed as a commitment. No tutor can promise a grade, a specific improvement or a place at a university, and any provider offering that is selling something they cannot deliver. Examination performance depends on the candidate, the paper and the day. A teacher can report that interpretation answers improved from one in four to three in four; a teacher cannot promise what that converts to in August, and should not imply it.

Two other lines hold firm. Pearson syllabus documents, mark schemes and past papers are referenced and linked from their official source rather than reproduced or supplied as downloads, because reproducing them is a copyright matter. And no statistic appears in a report or on this page without a count, a date and a method behind it, which is why you will find no satisfaction percentage and no star rating here. The record is the evidence, and the record is yours to keep.

Where we tutor

Areas we cover across Dubai

Where you live in Dubai changes the timetable more than it changes the teaching. The notes below are about session timing and what a realistic weekly rhythm looks like in each community, since the lesson itself arrives over video.

Al Barsha and Dubai Hills Estate

Busy school-run corridors where a 16:00 start rarely holds. Families here settle on 17:00 or later, and a Saturday morning slot often produces better work than a tired weekday evening session.

Mirdif and Al Warqa

A strong private-candidate presence, with families sitting Accounting outside the school entry. Those households carry the deadline tracking themselves, so the weekly note doubles as an administrative record.

Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim

Established British-curriculum schools with full commerce departments. Evidence requests here are usually about paper technique and interpretation marks rather than content gaps, because the classroom teaching is typically solid.

Dubai Marina and JLT

Apartment households where finding a quiet hour for a timed paper is the real constraint. Scheduling the weekly timed question for a fixed slot, rather than whenever there is space, is what keeps the evidence comparable.

Arabian Ranches and The Springs

Long internal drives that make two short midweek sessions easier than one long one. Splitting the week also produces two shorter notes instead of one, which some families find more useful for tracking recurrence.

Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City

Short journeys home mean a 15:30 start is genuinely possible, so a candidate can sit a timed paper before fatigue sets in. That matters for evidence quality more than most families expect.

Deira, Al Nahda and Al Qusais

Mixed-curriculum schools and a large cohort taking commerce subjects. Group sizes in Accounting here can be substantial, which means individual error patterns often go unreported until a mock.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai

Jumeirah, Al Safa and Umm Suqeim

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

    Send the marked script

The actual paper, not a description of the difficulty: a marked mock, class test or returned homework, plus the school and the series your child is entered for. The teacher reads it and writes down the error types they can see before any lesson is scheduled or any money discussed.

  2. 02

    Read the baseline note

You receive a written note naming the faults found, in priority order, with the evidence for each one quoted from the script. If the note does not match what you have been told at school, say so. A disagreement at this stage is far cheaper to resolve than one in March.

  3. 03

Free trial lesson, one per family

A full session with the teacher who wrote the note, booked without card details and carrying no obligation. The candidate does Accounting rather than sitting a placement test, and you get a second written note afterwards describing what the teaching found that the script could not show.

  4. 04

Weekly teaching with a recurrence log

One session a week, a short timed question each time, a note sent the same day, and a log of which error types appeared in which week. Annotated scripts come back to you and stay with you. Component marks are reported rather than a single overall figure.

  5. 05

A review on the evidence, not the feeling

Every six to eight weeks, read the notes together and decide: continue, change frequency, or stop. Stopping is a real option and some families take the written plan and work it themselves. The record is designed to make that decision possible without anyone having to be persuaded.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The evidence arrives before the invoice

A marked script is read and a written baseline note produced before a first lesson is scheduled. You can judge whether the teacher can actually diagnose from a paper at no cost, which is the one claim every tutoring provider makes and almost none lets you test in advance.

Reports name countable things

Paired adjustments completed, interpretation answers reaching three parts, questions finished rather than abandoned, error types recurring since a given week. All countable, all reported. No adjectives standing in for data, and no single percentage hiding where the marks actually moved.

You keep the annotated papers

Scripts are scanned, annotated and returned to your family rather than retained by the tutor. When an arrangement ends, the evidence trail stays with you, which also means a later teacher can start from real history instead of a fresh conversation.

No grade promises, in writing or in person

Examination outcomes depend on the candidate, the paper and the day. Nobody here will promise a grade, an improvement or an admission, and no report will imply one. What is promised is a weekly record specific enough to judge the teaching by.

Official material referenced, never reproduced

Pearson specifications, mark schemes and past papers are linked from qualifications.pearson.com rather than copied into a handout or supplied as a download. Referencing the source is correct practice and it also means your child works from the current document rather than an old copy.

Delivery stated in the first paragraph

Lessons for Dubai families run online over live video. IB Gram makes no home visits in the UAE and operates no office, centre or branch here. The search phrase is what parents type; the delivery is written plainly so nothing is discovered after a payment.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai: your questions answered

How can I tell an online 4AC1 tutor is actually teaching my child well?+

Ask for countable evidence rather than an impression. On a 4AC1 arrangement the weekly note should name the adjustment taught, the marks awarded against the published criteria, which error types appeared, and whether any had appeared in an earlier week. Over six weeks that produces a visible trend or a visible absence of one. Annotated scripts come back to you and stay with you, so the record does not depend on anyone's memory. If a report says only that your child is making good progress, ask what was counted. A provider tracking the right things can answer immediately.

What does the baseline note on a marked Accounting script contain?+

The error types visible in the script, listed in priority order, with the question and the line quoted as evidence for each one. It separates marks lost to content from marks lost to format and marks lost to running out of time, because those three need different fixes. It names what the first two weeks would target and what would be left until later. It is written before a lesson is scheduled and before any payment, and you keep it whether you proceed or not.

Does IB Gram send an Accounting teacher to a Dubai villa or apartment?+

No. There are no home visits anywhere in the UAE on this platform, and home visiting is a service offered only in India. Lessons for Dubai families run one-to-one over live video, timed to Gulf Standard Time. The market does sell in-home visits, advertised at roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour with travel inside the rate in October 2026, and that is a legitimate option from other providers. It is simply not what is on offer here, which is stated near the top of this page rather than in a footnote.

What is the own-figure rule in a Pearson accounting mark scheme?+

Accounting mark schemes credit method as well as final answer, and own-figure provisions mean that where a candidate makes an earlier error and then applies the correct process to their own incorrect number, later marks remain available. The practical lesson is to carry the wrong figure forward, label it, and finish the question rather than restarting. Candidates who restart run out of time and abandon the parts carrying most of the marks. Confirm how it is applied on the specific component against the published mark schemes at qualifications.pearson.com, which is where the authoritative wording lives.

Why do you count abandoned questions instead of only marking them?+

Because completion is a separate skill from accuracy and it moves faster. A candidate who spots an earlier mistake, restarts and then runs out of time loses marks that own-figure rules had already made available to them. Counting the proportion of questions finished, regardless of whether the final figure is correct, measures exam discipline directly and needs no judgement to report. It is one of the quickest changes to produce visible movement on a 4AC1 script, and it tends to improve within three sessions once a candidate trusts the rule.

My child understands Accounting in class but loses marks in exams. Why?+

Three causes account for most of it, and a marked script usually shows which. Format marks are lost when a statement layout is half remembered under time, before any figure is checked. Paired adjustments are half completed, so the income statement is corrected and the position statement is not. And interpretation answers stop after the comparison without reaching a cause or a consequence. None of those is a knowledge gap, which is why more content revision does not fix them. Each one is countable, so the weekly note can show whether it is actually changing.

How many weeks before we can see whether the arrangement is working?+

Two sessions produce the first comparable data and six weeks produce a trend. A twelve-week block is the usual unit, because it is long enough to change a procedural habit and short enough to judge without committing to a year. Movement in completion and format marks tends to appear early; interpretation depth and incomplete-records confidence move more slowly. The honest answer at week two is whether the right faults were identified, which the script and the first marked questions will show. Grade movement is not visible that fast and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing.

Can a tutor guarantee my child a particular Accounting grade?+

No, and a provider offering that should be treated with real scepticism. Examination performance depends on the candidate, the paper and the day, and no tutor controls any of the three. What can be committed to is a weekly record naming what was taught, what was marked, which faults recurred and what the next session targets. That record lets you judge the teaching on its own terms. A guarantee is a sales device, and in this market it is often attached to conditions that are never published on the same page.

Will the teacher follow my child's school scheme of work for 4AC1?+

Yes, by default. Running a parallel course means the candidate meets each topic twice at different times and consolidates neither, so sessions follow the school's topic order and reinforce what was taught that week. The exception is where the baseline note shows a structural gap in the recording system, because statements built on faulty double entry cannot be marked usefully. In that case the first weeks go backwards deliberately and the note will say so plainly, rather than quietly running a different syllabus and reporting as though nothing changed.

Can we get Pearson past papers and mark schemes from the tutor?+

They are referenced and linked from their official source rather than reproduced or supplied as downloads. Pearson specifications, past papers and mark schemes are published at qualifications.pearson.com, and copying them into handouts is a copyright matter rather than a service. There is a practical benefit as well: working from the live source means your child practises against the current document rather than a cached copy from three specification revisions ago. The teacher will tell you which papers to work from and in what order, which is the part that actually needs expertise.

How do mandatory Arabic and Islamic Education lessons affect revision time?+

They take real timetable hours. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social and Moral Studies are mandatory in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, with KHDA requirements to be implemented by the start of the 2025-26 academic year. KHDA calculates instructional time on a 40-minute lesson unit and advises that any mandatory subject lesson runs at least 25 minutes. Plan the Accounting week around the real timetable rather than the examined subjects alone. Families who count only option blocks consistently find themselves short of revision weeks by the second term.

What should I ask my child's school for before a tutoring arrangement starts?+

Three things, all free. The component marks from the most recent mock rather than the overall grade, because the breakdown is what identifies the fix. The specification code and the series your child is entered for, confirmed in writing by the exams officer. And the most recent marked script itself, which the school will usually release on request. With those three a teacher can produce a real baseline note. Without them, any plan offered to you is an assumption about an average candidate rather than a statement about yours.

Does the evidence record change in the weeks before a Pearson series?+

Yes, deliberately. Up to that point the useful measures are error types and recurrence, because the work is unlearning procedural faults. In the last six to ten weeks the record shifts to marks per component on full timed papers, plus time spent per question, because the task becomes converting existing knowledge into marks under the clock. Priority is set by marks lost per hour of revision rather than by topic order. The block also has a defined stop point, since revision running into the exam day costs more in fatigue than it returns.

What happens if the notes show the teaching is not working?+

You stop, or the match changes, and the record is what makes that conversation straightforward. Every six to eight weeks the notes get read together and a decision gets made: continue, change frequency, change teacher, or end it. Some families take the written plan and work it themselves, which is a legitimate outcome and sometimes the right one. A record designed to show movement also shows its absence, and a provider unwilling to act on that is relying on inertia rather than on results.

Can sessions move later in the evening during Ramadan?+

Yes, and many Dubai families ask for exactly that. School days shorten during the month and concentration patterns change, so a 17:00 slot that worked in January often does not work then. Post-Iftar sessions suit some households well and others not at all, and the only way to find out is to try one and review it honestly. Confirm the announced dates for the year rather than working from an estimate, then rebuild the weekly rhythm around them. Because delivery is over video, moving a slot costs nothing and no travel has to be rearranged.

Send one marked paper and judge the note it produces

The quickest way to test any claim on this page is to send your child's most recent marked Accounting script with the school name and the series they are entered for. A teacher who works on Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Accounting reads it and writes a baseline note naming the error types, in priority order, with the evidence quoted from the paper. That arrives before a lesson is booked and before anything is paid. If the note is precise, take the free trial lesson, one per family, with no card details. If it is not, you have lost nothing and learned something useful about diagnosis.
