IB Home Tutor in Al Manaseer

Parents searching for an IB home tutor in Al Manaseer are usually asking one question: is there anybody within driving distance who actually knows this syllabus? Al Manaseer sits on Abu Dhabi island between Al Khalidiyah and Al Bateen, a dense apartment district where the pool of Diploma Programme subject specialists is small and the Higher Level pool is smaller still. IB Gram answers it by matching your child to a DP subject specialist and teaching one-to-one over live video, on Gulf Standard Time.

IB & IGCSE in Al Manaseer

Why "near me" is the wrong filter for a Diploma subject

Al Manaseer is a compact residential district on the western side of Abu Dhabi island, wedged between Al Khalidiyah, Al Bateen and the Corniche. It is apartment stock rather than villa stock, which matters more than it sounds. A villa community of four hundred families generates a predictable local demand for Year 10 Maths. An apartment district generates demand spread across six curricula, four boards and twenty-odd subjects, and no single one of those reaches the volume that would make a resident specialist viable. The schools within walking distance of Al Manaseer are mostly British-curriculum or Ministry-curriculum, which is why an IB family here is looking outward from the first day of Year 12 rather than at the campus two streets away.

That is the mechanism behind the thing Al Manaseer parents keep running into. You can find somebody nearby who will sit at the kitchen table and help with homework. Finding somebody nearby who has taught Chemistry HL through two full Diploma cycles, marked against the current criteria, and knows what a 5 looks like against a 6 on the Internal Assessment, is a different search entirely. The second person exists. They are statistically unlikely to live in your building, or in the next one over.

There are roughly a dozen schools offering the International Baccalaureate across Abu Dhabi, and they are concentrated on Saadiyat Island, Al Reem Island, Khalifa City and the Al Raha corridor rather than in the island's older apartment districts. A Diploma student living in Al Manaseer is therefore often commuting out to school already. Their teacher lives somewhere else again. The idea that the right subject specialist is also the nearest one is a coincidence that geography rarely supplies.

So we stopped trying to supply it. Tutoring for families in the UAE is delivered online, one-to-one, over live video. IB Gram does not offer home visits in the UAE; in-home tuition is a service we run only in India. What a family in Al Manaseer gets instead is the whole matched pool rather than the fraction of it that happens to be a twenty-minute drive away, and the twenty minutes back. Lessons run on Gulf Standard Time, so the slot is set by when your child is actually home and fed rather than by how far anyone has to drive.

The rest of this page answers the question properly. What the in-home market in Abu Dhabi charges and what the travel premium buys. Which Diploma subjects genuinely have thin local coverage and which do not. What a tutor is permitted to do under MoHRE rules and how you check. What a tutor may and may not touch on an Internal Assessment under IB academic-honesty rules. And what happens, honestly, when no specialist is free for the subject you need.

At a glance

  • Al Manaseer is apartment-dense, so local demand splits across many curricula and no one specialism reaches critical mass
  • Abu Dhabi's IB schools cluster on Saadiyat, Al Reem, Khalifa City and Al Raha, not in the island's older districts
  • Matching by subject and level widens the pool; matching by driving distance narrows it to near zero for HL sciences
  • Market rates for in-home visits in Abu Dhabi carry a travel premium that buys travel, not teaching
  • Every lesson for a UAE family is delivered live over video on Gulf Standard Time
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

IB Gram covers the three school-age IB programmes. The notes below are written for Al Manaseer specifically, because what a PYP family on this part of the island needs is not what a DP2 family three streets away needs.

PYPAges 3-12 · FS1 to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

The PYP runs on transdisciplinary units of inquiry rather than discrete subject syllabuses, so there is no past-paper route into it. Support at this stage is about the underlying literacy and number fluency the inquiry assumes: place value, fractions as operators, reading stamina, and writing that holds a line of argument for more than three sentences. Sessions are short and frequent, because attention rather than content is the limiting factor.

Al Manaseer families often use a primary school close to home and then move to an IB continuum school further out for the Middle Years. That transfer is where gaps surface. A PYP child who was comfortable in a small inquiry classroom can arrive in an MYP maths set two years ahead of their fluency. Three months of number work before the move is cheaper than a year of catching up after it.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

MYP assessment is criterion-referenced, scored A to D per subject on a one-to-eight scale, with no national paper to practise against. Families find it opaque for exactly that reason. The useful work is reading the subject's own criteria strands with the student, then marking their own piece against them until the student can predict the band before the teacher does. Criterion D, applying knowledge in unfamiliar contexts, is where most of the lost marks sit.

The MYP-to-DP step is the one Al Manaseer parents ask about most often, because the apartment-district schools around Al Khalidiyah and Al Bateen send students into Diploma cohorts at schools on Saadiyat and Al Reem. A student arriving from a generous MYP mathematics set into Analysis and Approaches HL is the single most common rescue case we see from this part of the island.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity Activity Service. Each subject carries an Internal Assessment worth between twenty and thirty per cent of the grade, marked by the school and moderated by the IB. The written papers are the visible part; the IA and the coursework calendar are where the diploma is actually won or lost, and they are also the part no school timetable protects.

UAE schools sit the May session. For an Al Manaseer DP1 student, that means the real deadlines are internal ones set by their own coordinator, usually running from the autumn of DP1 for the Extended Essay through to the spring of DP2 for the last subject IA. We work to the school's calendar, not a generic one, because the school's calendar is the one with consequences.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

These are the Diploma subjects Abu Dhabi families request most, with the levels covered and what the marks actually turn on. Coverage depth varies by subject, and the later section on availability says plainly where it is thin.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

The route most Al Manaseer students take when engineering or economics is in view. HL adds proof, complex numbers and a third paper sat with a calculator. Marks go on method lines left out of long questions and on calculus set up correctly then executed in a hurry.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Statistics-weighted and modelling-led, with heavier graphical calculator dependence. The common failure is treating it as the easier option and then meeting hypothesis testing and Voronoi diagrams unprepared. SL AI is a legitimate choice, not a demotion.

Physics

HL and SL

Mechanics and fields at HL punish weak algebra more than weak physics. Paper 2 extended response needs a stated principle before the substitution, and students who write only numbers lose the reasoning marks even when the final answer is right.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Organic mechanisms, equilibrium and energetics carry the HL difficulty. The scientific investigation is where SL students most often lose a grade, usually by choosing a question with no controllable variable rather than by handling the data badly.

Biology

HL and SL

Volume is the problem rather than depth. Students who can recite a pathway still lose marks on command terms, answering a question that says evaluate as though it said describe. Practice is as much about reading the stem as learning the content.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagram accuracy is the fastest available gain: axes labelled, curves shifted the right way, the new equilibrium marked. HL Paper 3 is quantitative and is the paper Abu Dhabi students most often sit under-rehearsed.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Paper 1 is unseen textual analysis under time pressure, and the Individual Oral links a global issue to two texts. Students strong at content lose marks for argument that lists features instead of building a reading.

Business Management

HL and SL

Tool application rather than tool recall: students who can define a decision tree still lose marks for not tying it back to the stimulus firm. The HL extension on organisational change needs real examples held in reserve.

Computer Science

HL and SL

Pseudocode conventions and dry-run tracing carry disproportionate marks, and the HL abstract data structures paper rewards drawing the structure before writing anything. The internal assessment solution must solve a real client's problem, documented.

Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and the IA suite

Core components

Process coaching only. A tutor helps the student narrow a research question, plan a structure, read their own draft critically and understand the criteria. The writing is the student's, and the final section on academic honesty says exactly where that line sits.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three delivery patterns, all online and one-to-one. The choice is about frequency and purpose rather than format, because the format does not change.

Weekly subject tuition

One or two fixed slots a week on the same subject with the same tutor, running alongside the school's own sequence. This is the default for a DP1 student who is coping but losing ground, and the pattern that produces the most durable change because it tracks the course rather than chasing a test.

  • Same tutor, same slot, booked for the term
  • Tutor works from your child's own school scheme of work
  • Written note after each session on what was covered and what was set
  • Slot moves permanently if the school timetable changes

Internal Assessment process coaching

A short block of sessions around an IA or Extended Essay milestone. The tutor helps the student choose a workable research question, understand what each criterion is asking for, and read their own draft against it. The student writes every word; the tutor does not touch the document.

  • Research question narrowed until it is actually investigable
  • Criteria walked through strand by strand in the student's own words
  • Feedback given verbally and in notes, never as edits in the file
  • Timed to the school's internal deadline, not a generic one

Pre-session intensive

A denser block in the weeks before the May session or a school mock window, built on past-paper work and the specific question types that student loses marks on. Useful only when there is diagnosable, fixable loss. If the content gap is wide, weekly tuition started earlier is the honest recommendation instead.

  • Starts from a marked past paper, not from the syllabus front page
  • Two or three sessions a week for a fixed number of weeks
  • Each session closes a named question type
  • Stops on a stated end date rather than drifting on

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Al Manaseer

01

What an Al Manaseer parent is really searching for

  • The real requirement is subject-level expertise, reliability and a workable time
  • Geographic proximity adds cost and fragility without adding teaching quality
  • Shared-screen annotation on the student's own work is the practical core of a session
  • Recording a lesson for later review is only available in the online format

The phrase IB home tutor in Al Manaseer carries an assumption worth unpacking, which is that the word home is doing the important work. In practice it almost never is. When we ask families what they actually want, the answer is a person who knows the subject at the level their child is sitting it, available at a time that works, who turns up reliably and tells them the truth about progress. Home is shorthand for convenient and private, not a requirement that somebody physically enter the apartment.

That matters because the home requirement is the expensive one. It restricts the pool to tutors within driving range, adds travel cost to the hourly rate, and makes the schedule fragile in a way that a video lesson simply is not. On a district as dense as Al Manaseer, parking alone turns a sixty-minute lesson into a ninety-minute commitment for the tutor, and the rate reflects it.

Drop the geographic constraint and keep everything else and the search resolves. A Chemistry HL specialist who has taught the current syllabus through two cohorts can teach your child from wherever they are. A one-to-one video lesson with a shared whiteboard, the student's own worksheet on screen and a recording to revisit is not a compromised version of a kitchen-table lesson. For working through a problem set with annotation, it is a better room.

So this page uses the phrase parents search, and answers it honestly. IB Gram teaches Al Manaseer students online, live, one-to-one. We do not offer home visits in the UAE. What follows is the case for why that is the better trade here, with the numbers attached.

02

Which Diploma subjects actually have thin coverage, and what we do about it

No tutoring platform has even coverage across every subject at every level, and the ones that imply otherwise are the ones to be careful with. Diploma demand is heavily skewed. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Economics generate most requests, so the matched pool in those is deep. Specialist combinations such as Higher Level Film, Music, Global Politics or a Group 2 language at HL generate few requests, so the pool is shallow, and honesty about that is more useful to you than a promise.

The table below sets out how we handle each band. Where UAE-based coverage is thin, the fallback is a specialist teaching from elsewhere on a Gulf-Standard-Time slot, which is the same delivery format you would get anyway, since every UAE lesson is online. No in-home coverage exists in any band in the UAE, because that service is not offered here at all.

The practical consequence for an Al Manaseer family is that match time varies by subject rather than by where you live. A Maths Analysis and Approaches SL request is usually matched within a couple of days. A Higher Level Visual Arts request may take longer, and we will say so when you ask rather than after you have paid for a trial. If nothing suitable exists, the correct answer is that nothing suitable exists, and we give it. Ask which band your subject sits in when you first enquire, and you will get a realistic wait rather than an optimistic one.

What in-home tuition costs in Abu Dhabi, and what the premium buys

Start with the monthly figure rather than the hourly one, because that is the number that lands in a household budget. Monthly packages visible in this market run around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions, and AED 1,599 to 1,799 a month for four two-hour in-home sessions. Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table puts monthly estimates for a weekly one-hour session at AED 240 to 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to 1,200 mid-market, and AED 1,000 to 2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support.

Convert that to the hour and the shape of the market appears. Budget online and university-student tutors advertise from around AED 45 to 150, with EdFlik publishing from AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya from AED 33 to 52. Qualified subject tutors online sit around AED 150 to 300, with Unitors publishing IGCSE from AED 150 and IB from AED 200. In-home one-to-one visits, travel included, run roughly AED 180 to 500, with Bestimate quoting 180 to 350 and independent home tutors asking 200 to 500. IB, IGCSE and A Level specialists are quoted at AED 200 to 450 and above, TutorChase at AED 270, and premium named or examiner-led tuition reaches AED 650, which is BartyED's published figure.

The gap between the online specialist band and the in-home band is the travel premium. It is not a quality premium. Nothing in a tutor's subject knowledge improves because they drove to Al Manaseer, and on this district the drive is the awkward part: evening traffic along the Corniche, visitor parking that may or may not exist, and a lift. The premium pays for the car, and the fragility it introduces is yours. One cancelled lesson because the tutor is stuck on Airport Road is a cost the rate card does not show.

These are market figures, dated October 2026 and attributed to the sources above. They are not an IB Gram price list. Our own pricing is quoted after a consultation and a free trial lesson, because the honest number depends on subject, level and how many sessions a week the situation actually needs.

04

Online against in-home, measured on the things that change outcomes

Comparisons of this kind usually collapse into format preference. The useful version compares the variables that actually move a grade: how well the tutor knows the specification, how reliably the lesson happens, how much of the hour is teaching, and whether the student can revisit what was taught.

On specification knowledge, online wins outright in Al Manaseer, because the constraint is removed. On reliability, online wins because a video call has no traffic. On teaching minutes per paid hour, in-home loses a slice to arrival and settling even when the tutor is punctual. On revisiting, only the online format gives you a recording and a saved annotated worksheet. On the one variable where in-home has a genuine edge, which is a young child's focus in an unfamiliar format, the answer for Diploma-age students is usually moot.

The table below sets it out plainly. It compares delivery models, not named providers. Where an AED figure appears it is the market band quoted and sourced in the previous section, not our price.

Read the last column as the decision rule. If the thing you need is a Higher Level specialist for a specific syllabus, every row points the same way. If the thing you need is adult supervision in the room for a nine-year-old, tutoring of any kind is the wrong purchase and a different conversation is more useful. And if the subject is one of the thin bands above, the online route is not a preference at all; it is the only route that reaches a specialist.

Is your tutor legally permitted to teach privately in the UAE?

  • Ask any private tutor, in the UAE or elsewhere, whether they hold a current permit and under what category
  • The permit is free and valid for two years, so cost is not a reason for a tutor not to have one
  • Avoid arrangements involving your own child's current class teacher
  • Regulator approval claims should be backed by a permit number you can see

This is a question Al Manaseer parents should ask and almost never do. Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated by permit. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, and u.ae states that the permit is granted free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, employees in the government and private sectors, unemployed individuals, school students aged fifteen to eighteen, and university students.

Individuals offering private tutoring without a permit from MoHRE are, in u.ae's wording, subject to fines and penalties outlined in the applicable laws. No fine schedule is published, and figures circulating online could not be verified against an official source, so no amount is quoted here. The application route is MoHRE's own service, Issuance of a New Work Permit - Private Tutor Licensing, through the MoHRE smart app, website and e-services system, listing no fee and a two-working-day completion time.

There is a second rule that applies specifically in this emirate. ADEK's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff have been reported as prohibiting teachers from giving paid private tuition to students enrolled at their own school, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct has been reported as barring the same thing. Treat that as press-reported and check the current ADEK policy document before relying on it. The practical point stands either way: hiring your child's own class teacher privately is the arrangement most likely to cause a problem for the teacher.

A tutoring operation with premises and staff in Dubai is a different legal animal again, needing a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute. IB Gram does not operate premises in the UAE and holds no regulator permit or accreditation here, and you should treat any platform claiming regulator approval with suspicion until it shows you the permit number.

06

The exam calendar an Al Manaseer Diploma family should be working to

  • Diploma support bought in the spring of DP2 is support bought at the least useful moment
  • The Extended Essay and six IAs are the part of the grade a tutor can most affect
  • Cambridge IGCSE in the UAE runs June and November; the February/March series is offered to India only
  • Always use the zone-correct Cambridge timetable supplied by your school's exams officer

UAE schools sit the May Diploma session. IB session and results dates are not restated here, because ibo.org blocks automated checking and an unverified date on a page is worse than no date; confirm them with your child's IB coordinator or on ibo.org directly. What can be stated usefully is the shape of the year, and the shape is what families misjudge.

The written papers in May are the last thing that happens, not the main thing. Ahead of them sit the Extended Essay milestones from the autumn of DP1, the Theory of Knowledge exhibition and essay, six subject Internal Assessments with internal deadlines your school sets, and the school's own mock window. Most of the grade is decided in that sequence. A family that starts support eight weeks before the May papers has already passed the points where support was cheapest.

Households in Al Manaseer running two boards at once have a second problem. A younger sibling on the British curriculum sits Cambridge IGCSE in the June series, with November available as the resit route, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in May/June with a November series as well. That puts an older sibling's May Diploma papers and a younger sibling's June IGCSE papers in overlapping weeks on one household calendar, with one dining table and one quiet room.

One Cambridge detail is worth knowing because it has consequences. Every exam centre is allocated to one of six administrative zones, and Cambridge states it is essential that you use the correct version of the timetable for your zone, adding that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong zone timetable. Get the zone-correct timetable from your school's exams officer. Do not take the dates from a tutoring website, this one included.

07

Where a tutor stops: academic honesty on the IA, EE and TOK essay

This section exists because the market around these searches contains operators selling finished coursework. One competitor in the research set advertises completed Internal Assessments at AED 3,750. Buying one is an IB malpractice trigger, and the consequence falls on the student, not the seller. A family paying for it is buying a risk to their child's diploma.

The line is clear enough to write down. A tutor may teach the underlying content, explain what each assessment criterion is asking for, help the student narrow a research question until it is investigable, discuss method, ask questions about a draft the student has written, and point out where the student's own argument does not hold. A tutor may not write any part of the submission, may not edit the document, may not supply a structure to be filled in, and may not provide data the student has not generated.

In practice that shows up in how a session runs. Our tutors do not open the student's file and type. Feedback is given verbally and in session notes the student then acts on themselves. The student's supervisor at school signs off the authenticity declaration, and nothing a tutor does should make that declaration harder to sign honestly. If a tutor is willing to write the thing for you, that tells you what they would do to your child's grade when the IB asks questions.

We also do not supply IB, Cambridge or Pearson syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes or grade-boundary tables as downloads. Those are the boards' copyright. We reference them, link the official page, and work from material the student legitimately has through their school.

08

UAE Ministry of Education equivalency, for families planning locally

Al Manaseer families whose children may apply to a UAE university ask about equivalency, usually late. It is worth knowing the shape early, because the subject count affects option choices two years before anyone applies.

For the British track, reporting of the Ministry's clarified requirements states that students must submit proof of one accredited subject at Advanced Level with a grade of no less than E, or two accredited subjects at Advanced Subsidiary Level with the same grade, and must pass five accredited subjects in GCSE or IGCSE certificates with a grade of no less than E or grade 3. Arabic and Islamic education are not included among those five required subjects. That five-subject figure is worth holding onto, because at least one page ranking for these searches publishes six, and a parent who plans around six makes different subject choices.

For the American track, English proficiency is reported as a score of 5 in IELTS academic, 61 in TOEFL iBT, or 450 in the SAT reading and writing section, and mathematics requires at least 450 in SAT Math. For the IB, no points threshold is published here, because none has been read on moe.gov.ae, and publishing an unsourced figure would be the same error the competitor made with the subject count. Check the Ministry's own page or the emirate attestation authority.

Equivalency is a process the Ministry runs, not something IB Gram performs, guarantees or expedites, and tutoring is not a requirement for it. We describe it so that a Year 10 subject-choice conversation happens with the right numbers in it, and point you to the official channel for the rest.

How this works for a family in Al Manaseer, honestly

  • Bring a marked piece of work to the first conversation; it halves the diagnosis
  • The trial lesson is a real lesson on real content, with no card required
  • Request a different tutor at any point without a reason being required
  • A written note after each session records what was covered and what was set

The first conversation is about diagnosis rather than booking. We want the subject, the level, the school, the most recent marked work and your own read on what is going wrong. A parent saying my son is behind in Chemistry is a starting point. A parent saying he scores well on recall questions and loses the extended response is a brief a tutor can act on in the first lesson rather than the fourth.

Then we match on subject and level, propose a slot that survives a school commute off the island, and run a free trial lesson. The trial is a real lesson on real content, not a sales call, and it is free with no card required. If the fit is wrong, say so and we match again; a tutor who is excellent for one student is not automatically right for the next.

If no specialist is free for your subject, we tell you that at this stage. For the thin bands in the coverage table, that happens. The alternatives we suggest then are the honest ones: wait for a slot, widen the time window, start with a related subject, or use the school's own support, which for a Higher Level arts subject is often genuinely the better route.

After that it is weekly, in a fixed slot, with a note after each session saying what was covered and what was set. You will know who is teaching your child, by name, and it stays the same person unless you ask for a change. Lessons are online, live and one-to-one. Nobody comes to the building, and nothing about the teaching depends on anyone doing so.

Where we tutor

Al Manaseer and the districts around it

Al Manaseer sits inside a wider band of Abu Dhabi communities whose IB families face the same specialist-density problem. Online delivery means a tutor matched for a student in one of these is available to a student in any of them.

Al Bateen

Immediately west of Al Manaseer, mixing older villa compounds with newer waterfront towers. Families here feed into schools around Al Bateen and Al Mushrif and ask most often about DP sciences.

The Corniche and Al Khalidiyah

The high-rise strip along the western shore. Apartment living, long lift waits at 4pm, and parents who value a lesson that starts the minute the student sits down rather than ten minutes later.

Al Mushrif

Established villa district inland from the Corniche, close to several long-running British-curriculum schools. A frequent source of IGCSE-to-Diploma transition cases.

Al Reem Island

Dense tower community a short drive east across the bridge, with its own schools and a visible Diploma cohort. Session times here are shaped by bridge traffic rather than distance.

Saadiyat Island

Where a large share of Abu Dhabi's IB Diploma places sit. Many Al Manaseer students commute there daily, which is why their homework window starts later than their schoolmates'.

Khalifa City and Al Raha

The mainland schools corridor. Diploma and IGCSE cohorts both large, and the first place Al Manaseer families look when they assume proximity to a school means proximity to a tutor.

Yas Island

Newer residential and school stock on the eastern side. Useful comparison for Al Manaseer parents weighing a school move against simply fixing the subject support.

Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Al Reef

Mainland communities where demand skews towards IGCSE rather than Diploma. Mentioned here because tutors matched for these students are the same matched pool Al Manaseer draws on.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Al Manaseer

Abu Dhabi island, nearest Al Manaseer

The schools a student living in Al Manaseer most plausibly attends or commutes to from the island itself. Programmes and boards vary; several run the British curriculum to IGCSE and A Level rather than the Diploma, which is why a household can need two different kinds of specialist at once.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Tell us the subject, level and school

Not just the subject. Analysis and Approaches HL at a school that teaches Paper 3 in DP2 is a different brief from the same subject taught front-loaded. The school's sequence changes what the first four sessions should cover, so we ask for it.

  2. 02

Send one marked piece of work

A marked paper, an IA draft with the teacher's comments, or a mock script. One real artefact tells a subject specialist more than a long description, and it is the difference between the first lesson diagnosing and the first lesson guessing.

  3. 03

Agree a slot that survives the commute

Al Manaseer students commuting to Saadiyat or Khalifa City are not home at 3.30pm. We set the slot around when your child is actually free and alert, not around when a timetable says school ends.

  4. 04

    Take the free trial lesson

A full one-to-one lesson on real content with the matched specialist, free and with no card required. At the end you get the tutor's read on what is wrong and what the first month should do about it.

  5. 05

    Review after four sessions

Four sessions in, we look at whether the diagnosis held. Sometimes the problem is not the subject at all but exam technique or an unprotected coursework calendar, and the plan changes accordingly rather than continuing out of habit.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Matched on syllabus, not on distance

The constraint that makes an Al Manaseer search hard is geography. Removing it is the whole point. Your child is matched to somebody who has taught that subject at that level through full cohorts, wherever they sit.

Clear about what we do not do

We do not offer home visits in the UAE, we hold no regulator accreditation here, and we will not write a word of an Internal Assessment. Each of those is in writing on this page because a platform's limits are more informative than its promises.

Market rates attributed, not invented

Every AED figure on this page carries a source and a date. Three of the six pages ranking for these searches publish no price at all, and two quote a currency UAE families do not transact in.

Availability stated before you pay

If the subject band is thin, you hear that before a trial rather than after. The coverage table on this page is the policy, not marketing, and it includes the bands where we may have nothing for you.

Built around the school's calendar

The deadlines that matter to a DP student are set by their own coordinator. We work to those dates, which means the Extended Essay and IA milestones get support while there is still time for support to work.

A named tutor who stays

You know who is teaching your child and it remains the same person. Continuity is most of what makes weekly tuition work, and rotating tutors is the most common way a platform quietly wastes a term.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Manaseer: your questions answered

Can I actually get an IB home tutor in Al Manaseer who visits the apartment?+

Not from IB Gram. We teach UAE families online, one-to-one, over live video, and in-home visits are a service we run only in India. Independent tutors and local agencies in Abu Dhabi do advertise home visits, with market rates for in-home one-to-one quoted at roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour including travel. Our view is that the premium pays for the car rather than the teaching, and that for a Diploma subject the specialist you need is unlikely to live within driving range of Al Manaseer. The honest trade is a better-matched tutor on a screen.

How do I know a tutor really understands the Diploma rather than just the subject?+

Ask three questions. Which level have you taught this at, and across how many cohorts? What does the Internal Assessment criterion rubric for this subject weight most heavily? Where do students in this subject usually lose marks on the extended response? A teacher who has taught the Diploma answers all three immediately and in specifics. A general subject tutor answers the first and becomes vague on the other two. The trial lesson is the place to ask, and it is free, so the cost of checking is a card-free hour of your time.

Which IB subjects are hardest to staff for a family living in Al Manaseer?+

Higher Level arts subjects, Group 2 languages at Higher Level, and Global Politics are the thin bands. Mathematics, the three sciences, Economics and Business Management are deep. The coverage table on this page gives the bands with typical match times, and the policy is that we tell you the band before you book a trial rather than afterwards. If nothing suitable exists for your subject, we say so and suggest school-side alternatives, which for a Higher Level arts subject is often genuinely the better route anyway.

My child commutes from Al Manaseer to a school on Saadiyat. When can a session realistically start?+

Later than most families assume. A school day that ends between 2.30pm and 3.15pm plus a bridge commute back to the island puts a student home closer to 4pm, and they need to eat before they can think. Sessions from 5pm onwards work; sessions at 4pm tend to be half wasted. Because lessons are online there is no additional tutor travel to absorb, so the slot can sit as late as 8pm if that is when your child is alert. We set the time around the student, not the timetable.

Does a tutor teaching an Al Manaseer student need a permit, and how do I check?+

Yes. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and, per u.ae, is granted free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged fifteen to eighteen. u.ae states that anyone tutoring without a permit is subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, though no amounts are published. Ask the tutor directly which category they hold it under; the permit costs nothing, so there is no reason not to have one.

Can a tutor help with my daughter's Chemistry Internal Assessment?+

With the process, yes. A tutor can teach the underlying chemistry, explain what each assessment criterion rewards, help her narrow a research question until it has a genuinely controllable variable, discuss method and uncertainty, and ask hard questions about a draft she has written. A tutor cannot write it, edit it, give her a structure to fill in, or supply data she did not collect. That line is not a house style; it is what keeps her authenticity declaration honest. Any service offering to produce a finished Internal Assessment is selling her a malpractice risk.

What does Diploma tutoring cost in the Abu Dhabi market?+

Market figures for October 2026 run as follows. Budget online tuition from around AED 45 to 150 an hour, with EdFlik publishing from AED 45 to 65. Qualified subject tutors online around AED 150 to 300, with Unitors publishing IB from AED 200. IB specialists quoted at AED 200 to 450 and above, with TutorChase at AED 270. Premium named tuition reaches AED 650 at BartyED. In-home visits run AED 180 to 500 including travel. Those are other providers' published rates, not ours; our own number follows a consultation and a free trial.

Is online tuition genuinely as effective for a Diploma student as somebody in the room?+

For Diploma-age students, yes, and on several measures better. The work is problem sets, past-paper scripts and drafts, all of which live on a screen and annotate better there than on paper passed across a table. The student keeps a recording and the annotated worksheet. No lesson is lost to traffic. The one real advantage of a person in the room is holding a young child's attention, which is a primary-age consideration rather than a DP2 one. The variable that actually moves a Diploma grade is whether the tutor knows the specification.

How many sessions a week should a struggling DP1 student start with?+

One a week in one subject, for most families. A single weekly slot in the subject causing the most damage, running alongside the school's sequence, produces more durable change than three scattered sessions across three subjects. Two a week makes sense when a student is behind on content rather than technique and there is a fixed date to reach. Starting with four is usually a sign that the problem has not been diagnosed yet, and it is also the fastest way to exhaust a student who is already tired.

We are moving from the MYP into the Diploma. What gap should we expect?+

The commonest gap is mathematical fluency rather than understanding. MYP assessment is criterion-referenced and generous about method, so a student can be graded well while still being slow and uncertain with algebraic manipulation. Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level assumes that fluency and moves fast. The others are writing under timed conditions, which the MYP rarely demands, and command-term discipline, where a question saying evaluate expects something different from one saying describe. Six to ten weeks of targeted work before DP1 starts is usually enough.

Which schools near Al Manaseer do the students you support attend?+

Students we support on this part of Abu Dhabi island attend schools including The British School Al Khubairat, Al Bateen Academy, Abu Dhabi International School, Brighton College Abu Dhabi and Repton School Abu Dhabi, and commute out to Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, Raha International School, GEMS World Academy Abu Dhabi and Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi. Those names are context for the area, not relationships. IB Gram claims no affiliation, partnership or endorsement with any school, and any platform listing schools as partners should be asked to evidence it.

Can one Al Manaseer tutor cover both of my children if they sit different boards?+

Sometimes for mathematics, rarely otherwise. A strong maths teacher can handle IGCSE Extended and Diploma Standard Level credibly, because the content overlaps and the skill is the same skill at different depths. Across the sciences it is less workable: Cambridge IGCSE Physics and Diploma Physics Higher Level are different specifications with different assessment logic, and a tutor who claims both equally usually knows one properly. Two specialists on two slots costs more per week and wastes less of it, which is the trade we would recommend.

What happens if the matched tutor is not right for my child?+

Tell us and we match again, with no reason required and nothing to justify. Fit failures are usually about pace or manner rather than competence, and they show up in the first two or three sessions. The free trial lesson exists partly to catch them before any money moves. What we will not do is keep a mismatched pairing running because changing it is administratively awkward; a term lost to a tutor your child has stopped listening to is the most expensive outcome available here.

Can Al Manaseer lessons move to post-Iftar timing during Ramadan?+

Yes, and most families ask for it. School hours shorten during Ramadan and the useful study window shifts late, so sessions commonly move to after Iftar. Because lessons are online there is no tutor travel to arrange around it, which makes a 9pm or 10pm slot practical in a way an in-home visit at that hour would not be. We also reduce frequency in the final week of Ramadan and through Eid by default, and pick the schedule back up afterwards rather than letting a term quietly stop.

Does tutoring help with UAE Ministry of Education equivalency?+

Not directly, and nobody should tell you it does. Equivalency is a process the Ministry runs on certificates a student has already earned; tutoring is not a requirement for it and we do not perform, expedite or guarantee any part of it. Where it matters is earlier. The British track is reported as requiring five accredited GCSE or IGCSE subjects at no less than E or grade 3, with Arabic and Islamic education excluded from that count. Knowing that in Year 10 changes subject choices. Verify the current rules on moe.gov.ae.

Start with the subject, not the postcode

If you have been searching for an IB home tutor in Al Manaseer and finding people who are close but not specialists, the constraint is the search, not the supply. Tell us the subject, the level, the school and what the last marked piece of work said. We will match a Diploma specialist, propose a slot that survives the commute back onto the island, and run a free trial lesson with no card required. Lessons are online, live and one-to-one. If we do not have the right person for your subject, we will say so, which is a shorter conversation and a more useful one than the alternative.
