IB Home Tutor in Al Khan

Budgeting for an IB home tutor in Al Khan is a two-year problem, not a monthly one. The Diploma spreads its risk across six subjects and three core components, and families who spend reactively in the second year pay more for less. IB Gram matches Sharjah Diploma families with subject specialists teaching one-to-one over live video in Gulf Standard Time, and this page lays the two-year arithmetic out first.

IB & IGCSE in Al Khan

Two years of spending, planned once

Al Khan sits along the Sharjah lagoon, between Al Majaz and Al Taawun, with towers facing the water and the Dubai boundary a short drive west. Families here are generally paying school fees for more than one child and are careful with a second education bill. The Diploma, unfortunately, is the programme least suited to careful monthly budgeting, because its costs arrive in a shape that reactive spending handles badly.

Here is the shape. Six subjects, three normally at Higher Level, each carrying internally assessed work. Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service running across both years, with up to three points sitting in the combination of the first two. Internal deadlines set by the school rather than the board, clustered in the middle of the second year. And a single main examination session at the end, with no resit route inside the same academic year for a UAE candidate.

A family that spends reactively meets all of that at once in the spring of the second year, which is the most expensive and least effective moment available. A family that plans across two years spends the same total, or less, and places it where it converts into points. That difference is the whole argument of this page, and it is arithmetic rather than opinion.

The published market gives the figures. Qualified online subject tutors advertise from roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, with Unitors publishing IB tuition from AED 200. Specialist IB and IGCSE tutors are quoted from AED 200 to AED 450 and above, TutorChase at around AED 270, and premium named or examiner-led provision advertised as high as AED 650. In-home one-to-one visits including travel run from about AED 180 to AED 500, with Bestimate's 2026 rate table placing the usual band at AED 180 to 350. Those belong to the providers and surveys named, read in October 2026.

IB Gram teaches UAE families one-to-one over live video and makes no home visits anywhere in the country; in-home tutoring is a service we run only in India. That removes the travel component of the rate and, on a corridor where afternoon arrival times are unpredictable, removes the waste that a visiting arrangement produces when a session is missed or cut short.

What follows is the budget. Term by term across two years. What one point actually costs in different scenarios, which is the only sensible unit for a Diploma family. Why deferring the core is the most expensive habit in the programme. What each price tier buys in a Diploma context specifically. And what the school already owes you before any money changes hands. None of it assumes a particular budget; the argument is about placement rather than amount.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Four spending windows across the Diploma, each with a different price per unit of outcome. The ordering below is deliberate: the cheapest windows come first and are the least used.

Pre-DPAges 16 · the break

The summer before the Diploma

Four to six sessions on algebraic fluency, extended writing and what a research question looks like. The cheapest useful block in the whole programme, bought by almost nobody, and the reason the first autumn generates so many emergency enquiries from families who thought strong IGCSE grades were sufficient preparation.

In this part of Sharjah the move into a Diploma cohort frequently involves changing school and sometimes crossing the emirate boundary. One mapping session against the receiving school's expectations identifies coverage gaps before term rather than during it.

DP1Ages 16-17 · DP1

Diploma Year 1

The highest-value window and the quietest. Content is still being taught, nothing has become a deadline, and the foundations of the core can be laid properly: a research question that works, an investigation with enough depth, a weekly routine that survives the commute. Spending here prevents spending later.

A DP1 student crossing the boundary daily has roughly two usable weekday evenings. Buying a single weekly session in the spring of the first year is both affordable and well placed, because the student has the capacity to act on it.

DP2 autumnAges 17-18 · DP2

Diploma Year 2, first half

Where coursework must be cleared, because internal deadlines cannot be reopened and finished coursework reduces the spring load. This is the window where a focused component block has the clearest return, and where most families have not yet started spending.

Ask the school for its published internal deadline calendar at the start of the second year. On a commuting schedule, knowing those dates in September rather than January allows work to be spread rather than collided.

DP2 springAges 17-18 · DP2

Diploma Year 2, second half

The most expensive window and the one where most money is actually spent. Papers, prioritisation and triage. Genuinely worth buying for a student near a grade boundary, and incapable of teaching an untaught Higher Level option however much is spent.

Where three subjects are in trouble at once, funding two and deliberately leaving one alone produces more than spreading sessions across all three. That is uncomfortable advice and it is what the points arithmetic supports.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Price moves with scarcity rather than with difficulty. Each entry notes where supply is thin, because that is what changes a rate for a Diploma family.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Reliably in demand and therefore reasonably supplied at Standard Level. Higher Level Paper 3 specialists are scarce across the region, which is where the premium sits and where it is justified.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Thinner supply than Analysis at Higher Level, because fewer tutors have taught the modelling and statistics emphasis. Calculator fluency is a syllabus requirement, and two sessions on technology alone often return more marks than two on content.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Consistently among the hardest Higher Level subjects to staff anywhere in the Gulf, so expect the upper end of the specialist band. The investigation is marked across research design, data analysis, conclusion and evaluation, with evaluation the reliable loss.

Physics

HL and SL

Similar scarcity to Chemistry at Higher Level. Many paper questions are mathematics problems in physical clothing, so a maths specialist sometimes fixes the real problem more cheaply than a second subject tutor.

Biology

HL and SL

Better supplied than the other two sciences and therefore cheaper at the same level. Command-term discipline is the quickest improvement available, which makes it good value per session.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Reasonably supplied, with the individual oral the least rehearsed component in most students' Diploma. Cheap to improve relative to the marks available, which makes it an efficient line in a budget.

Economics and Business Management

HL and SL

Mid-market rates and internally assessed work with its own word limits. Writing to a limit is learned by planning to a budget, and that skill transfers to every other written component the student has.

Diploma core: TOK and the Extended Essay

Compulsory

Rarely in a family budget and capable of costing points outright. Two or three early sessions testing a research question or narrowing an essay title are among the best-value purchases in the programme.

Second language subjects

Language acquisition and language A

The thinnest supply at the higher levels, and the subjects where flexibility on timing does most to reduce both the rate and the waiting time for a match.

Arabic and Islamic Education

First and additional language streams

Carried alongside the Diploma under the federal position, in separate streams for Arab and non-Arab students, and excluded from the five subjects the Ministry counts on the British track.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Four purchases, ordered by what they cost across two years rather than by what they cost per hour. The first two are cheap and early; the last two are expensive and late.

Pre-Diploma bridging block

Four to six sessions in the summer before the Diploma: algebraic fluency, extended writing at Diploma length, and what a research question actually looks like. Cheapest line in the two-year budget and the one almost nobody buys.

  • Fluency rebuilt before first-year content starts
  • Writing practised at the length the Diploma expects
  • Research-question design taught before the Extended Essay exists
  • Finite, with no rolling commitment into term

Component coaching in the first year

Three or four sessions testing an investigation topic or research question for depth, with the criteria taught by letter and mark. Bought early, this prevents the expensive rescue work that the same component generates a year later.

  • Criteria explained with mark allocations named
  • Topic viability tested before any writing
  • Feedback given as questions on the student's own draft
  • Fixed session count agreed in advance

Autumn coursework block in the second year

Weekly sessions aimed at clearing a coursework bottleneck before the internal deadline. Mid-priced, well placed, and the window where most families have not yet started spending.

  • Scoped against the school's internal deadline calendar
  • One component at a time, not three in parallel
  • Reviewed against the published criteria, band by band
  • Ends when the component is submitted

Spring paper block, triaged

The expensive window. Weekly sessions in one or two subjects nearest a grade boundary, with the third deliberately left alone. Worth buying for a student who understands the content and underperforms on papers.

  • Priority set by distance from a boundary, not by difficulty
  • Higher Level extended-problem papers rehearsed whole
  • No new content introduced in the final third
  • Ends before study leave rather than during it

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Al Khan

01

What Diploma support costs a family in Al Khan

  • Qualified online tutor: AED 150-300, Unitors IB from 200
  • Specialist IB: AED 200-450+, TutorChase around 270
  • Premium examiner-led: advertised as high as 650
  • In-home including travel: AED 180-500, Bestimate band 180-350

An IB home tutor in Al Khan, as the phrase is used here, is a Diploma subject specialist working one-to-one with one student. IB Gram provides that over live video to Sharjah families and makes no home visits anywhere in the UAE; in-home tuition is a service we run only in India. The cost question deserves published numbers rather than a brochure, so here they are with their sources.

Qualified online subject tutors advertise in this market from roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, with Unitors publishing IB tuition from AED 200 and IGCSE from AED 150. Specialist IB and IGCSE tutors are quoted from AED 200 to AED 450 and above, with TutorChase listing around AED 270 and premium named or examiner-led provision advertised as high as AED 650. Entry-level online sessions are advertised from about AED 33 to 65. In-home visits including travel run from roughly AED 180 to AED 500, with Bestimate's 2026 rate table putting the common band at AED 180 to 350.

For a Diploma family the specialist band is usually the relevant one, and the reason is structural rather than snobbish. Diploma marks sit substantially inside internally assessed components with published criteria, and reading a draft against those criteria is not something a subject generalist can do reliably. At Standard Level in a well-supplied subject a qualified tutor is often sufficient. At Higher Level with coursework, the component specialist is what the money is for.

IB Gram publishes no tariff on these pages. The rate depends on level, component, subject scarcity and session length, and it is quoted after a free trial lesson so both sides know what is being bought. What this page will do is show where across two years that money produces the most.

02

The two-year Diploma budget, term by term

Written out across two years, Diploma spending looks very different from how it is usually incurred. The common pattern is nothing until the second year and then a concentrated burst in the spring, which is the single most expensive way to buy the least.

The reasons are mechanical. In the spring of the second year, the coursework deadlines have passed, so the component marks are fixed. The syllabus is finishing, so content teaching has limited room to compound. Availability is tightest because every family in the region is buying at once. And the student has the least capacity to act on anything, because six subjects are converging.

Reversed, the same money buys considerably more. A bridging block before the first year. One weekly session in the spring of the first year, when the student can absorb it. A coursework block in the autumn of the second year, when deadlines can still be met. And a short triaged paper block in the spring. That distribution costs no more in total and leaves the family with a student who is not in crisis.

The table below uses published market bands to show the shape rather than to quote a price. Fill in your own numbers from the bands above; the point is the distribution across the six windows, and specifically that the biggest line is not the last one.

One caveat on reading the table. The session counts are typical rather than prescriptive, and a household with a strong student in five subjects and one weak one will spend far less than the shape implies. The distribution is the transferable part: early windows are cheap because the student can act on what they are given, and the final window is expensive because by then most of the grade is already decided.

Funding by points rather than by panic

A Diploma family's real unit of account is the point, not the hour, and switching to it changes almost every spending decision. The question is not which subject is weakest but where a point is cheapest to obtain.

Three scenarios dominate. A subject sitting one or two marks below a boundary, where technique work on papers can produce a point for a handful of sessions. A core component heading for a low grade, where up to three points sit in the combination of Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay and a small early intervention can protect the lot. And a subject genuinely two grades behind, where a point costs a term of weekly work because content has to be rebuilt.

Set out that way, the ranking is usually obvious and usually not what instinct suggests. The cheapest points are near boundaries and in the core. The most expensive are in the subject the student finds hardest, which is where most families spend first. A conversation about distance from boundaries, held with the subject teachers in the autumn of the second year, is worth more than any amount of comparison shopping on hourly rates.

The table below sets the scenarios side by side. The last column is the one to argue with: it is deliberately explicit about what a point costs, because that is the number no provider publishes and the only one that makes a Diploma budget rational.

The conversation that produces this ranking is short and free. Ask each subject teacher, in the autumn of the second year, roughly how far your child is from the next boundary and what would move them. Teachers answer that well when asked directly, and the answers across six subjects usually make the spending decision obvious without any further analysis.

04

Why deferring the core is the most expensive habit

  • Nothing chases the core weekly, so it gets deferred by default
  • A low core grade can block the diploma, not merely reduce it
  • Deferral displaces work into the busiest term of the second year
  • Two sessions at the question-choosing stage prevent most of it

Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay have a structural disadvantage: nothing chases them weekly. Subject homework has a teacher asking for it on a known day. The core has internal deadlines months away and no weekly pressure, so in a busy household it loses every scheduling argument until it becomes an emergency.

The cost of that is larger than it looks. Up to three points sit in the combination of the two, and a low grade in either can create a failing condition that blocks the award of the diploma rather than merely reducing a total. So the downside is not one point; in the worst case it is the qualification. Against that, the intervention that prevents it is small and early: a session or two testing whether a research question can sustain four thousand words of argument, and whether the sources exist.

There is a second cost, in displacement. A core component deferred into the second year arrives in the same term as subject coursework, which means the student is writing three long pieces at once in the weeks when the syllabus is also finishing. That is how capable students end up with mediocre marks in four places rather than good marks in two.

The practical answer in a household on this corridor is to give the core a protected weekend hour from the first year, and to buy two or three sessions of coaching at the point the research question is being chosen rather than at the point a draft is late. That is both the cheapest and the highest-value money in the whole two-year budget.

05

What each price tier buys in a Diploma context

  • Entry level buys supervision, not criteria-level diagnosis
  • Qualified rates are often sufficient at Standard Level
  • Specialist rates are for component and criteria work
  • Treat unverifiable examiner claims with scepticism

The tiers in this market mean something slightly different for a Diploma family than for an IGCSE one, because so much of the Diploma grade sits inside internally assessed work with published criteria.

At entry-level rates, advertised from roughly AED 33 to 65 an hour, a family is buying supervision and structure. For a student who is disorganised rather than behind, that has genuine value, and in a commuting household it can be the thing that gets homework finished. It cannot read a draft against criterion descriptors, because that requires somebody who has marked the component.

At qualified rates of roughly AED 150 to 300, the tutor knows the subject and can teach content properly. That is often enough at Standard Level in a well-supplied subject. At specialist rates from AED 200 to AED 450 and above, the tutor knows the component: the criteria, the mark allocations, the band boundaries, where students lose marks and why. For Higher Level coursework that is the tier the money is actually for.

One caution about the top of the market. Premium provision advertised as high as AED 650 an hour is sometimes presented as examiner-led. Examiner status for an individual is difficult for a parent to verify, and it should never be used to imply access to marking, grade boundaries or paper content. We do not describe tutors as examiners where we cannot evidence current status, and a family paying that premium is entitled to ask exactly what it buys.

06

What the school owes you before any money changes hands

  • Ask the coordinator for the internal deadline calendar, in writing
  • Ask which Higher Level options genuinely ran in past years
  • Ask subject teachers which criterion a draft is weakest against
  • Ask the university adviser what offers the school has seen

A page selling Diploma support should be clear about what the school already provides, because a family that collects it spends less and spends better. Three things are free and all three are routinely left on the table.

The Diploma coordinator holds the internal deadline calendar for the whole year. Ask for it in writing in the autumn of each year. On a commuting schedule that single document is worth several weeks of usable evenings, because it allows work to be moved into quieter weeks rather than colliding in one term. The coordinator also knows which Higher Level options actually ran in previous years, which matters if a budget was built around a subject that may not be staffed.

The subject teachers hold the marked work and the view that matters most: which two or three things they would prioritise if they had your child for an extra hour a week. Teachers answer that question well and are rarely asked it. For a coursework component, ask specifically which criterion the draft is weakest against, because that converts a vague worry into a targeted purchase.

And the university adviser holds the pattern of offers previous students in the school have actually received, which is better information than any general guidance about prerequisites. Collect all three before buying anything, and the eventual purchase is smaller, better aimed and easier to evaluate.

There is a fourth item for families who have recently moved school, which on this corridor is common. Ask the receiving school what mapping it did against your child's previous coverage. A vague answer is a reason to budget for a short mapping session of your own, because an unmapped transfer leaves gaps that surface in the second year when they are expensive.

07

Permits, refunds and the claims to refuse

  • The MoHRE permit is free for two years, so ask whether it is held
  • No provider here holds regulator or board approval, including us
  • Refuse outcome-linked refund promises and unevidenced ratings
  • The student writes every word of every submitted component

Before money moves, two regulatory questions are worth asking and one set of claims is worth refusing outright.

The permit. The private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and is issued through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. It is granted free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private-sector employees, unemployed individuals, university students and school students aged fifteen to eighteen. Individuals tutoring without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and because no fine schedule is published, a page quoting an amount has invented it. The permit's code of conduct also bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school.

The regulator. Private schools in Sharjah are regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority, which regulates private education in the emirate and approves tuition fees, curricula, programmes, courses, activities and assessment methods; Dubai's answer to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. No tutoring provider, including IB Gram, holds approval, accreditation or a licence from either, and a KHDA educational services permit is a specific instrument issued to training institutes with premises in Dubai.

The claims. Refuse any guarantee of a grade, a points total or a university place. Refuse any money-back promise tied to an outcome, because the terms are rarely published and never enforceable in the way a parent imagines. Refuse any school presented as a partner or client, any rating or satisfaction figure without the number, date and method behind it, and any offer to write, finish or complete an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay or TOK essay. That last one is academic malpractice, this region's market contains a provider selling it, and the consequence falls on your child rather than on the seller.

Where we tutor

Al Khan and the districts along the lagoon

On this corridor geography affects the budget through scheduling. These are the districts in the conversation, with the practical effect of each.

Al Khan

Towers along the lagoon and the corniche, with schools in both emirates in reach. Arrival times after 4.30pm for cross-border students mean the contested afternoon slot is unusable, and any visiting arrangement prices the crossing in.

Al Taawun

A short run west along the water, with an almost identical commute and rate profile. Families compare across the two districts and find nothing that changes a budget.

Al Majaz

East along the lagoon, with the same split between local and cross-border schooling. The same specialist bands apply and the same preference for a fixed later slot.

Al Qasimia

Inland, where locally schooled children are home earlier and an earlier session is possible. Slightly more scheduling choice for the same money.

Al Nahda, Sharjah

The densest commuting belt on the boundary. Relevant to Al Khan families with children at the same Dubai schools, since the arrival pattern is comparable.

Muwaileh and University City

Inland towards the campuses with shorter runs and a separate school cluster. A move here buys weekday evenings back, which is the only genuine saving geography offers here.

Dubai's Al Mamzar and Al Qusais

Across the water and the boundary, where a share of these children attend school. A Dubai-based visiting tutor asked to cross at five in the afternoon will usually decline or price the journey.

School ecosystem

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Tell us where in the two years you are

Year, subjects, levels, and which components are outstanding. That alone determines whether the right purchase is a cheap early block or an expensive late one, and we would rather say which before quoting anything.

  2. 02

Collect the school's free material first

The internal deadline calendar from the coordinator, the subject teachers' priority topics, and for coursework the criterion a draft is weakest against. Send those. They make the eventual purchase smaller and much better aimed.

  3. 03

Free trial with a component specialist

Not a general Diploma tutor. The trial runs with somebody who has marked the component in question, on your child's own draft or paper, so you can judge whether criteria-level work is actually happening.

  4. 04

Buy by points, not by subject

We will say where a point is cheapest for your child — a boundary subject, a core component, a coursework band — and recommend that, even where it is not the subject causing the most worry at home.

  5. 05

Review against criteria with a stop option

At the midpoint the work is re-marked against the same criteria and compared band by band. Three outcomes are available and ending the block is one of them, agreed in advance rather than negotiated later.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Budget planned across two years

The Diploma's costs do not fit a monthly frame. Mapping the six spending windows in advance costs nothing and reliably moves money from the expensive spring of the second year into the cheap windows where it compounds.

Priced in points, not hours

We will tell you where a point is cheapest for your child, including when the answer is a core component rather than the subject that is causing the most anxiety at home. No provider publishes that number, and it is the only rational unit here.

Component specialists, not general tutors

Diploma marks sit substantially inside internally assessed work with published criteria. Reading a draft against those descriptors is what the specialist band is for, and it is not something a subject generalist can do reliably.

No examiner claims we cannot evidence

Premium provision in this market is sometimes sold as examiner-led. We do not describe a tutor as an examiner without current evidence, and we never imply access to marking, boundaries or paper content.

The school's free material pointed out

The internal calendar, the teachers' priorities and the adviser's offer history come before any purchase. A family that collects all three buys less and buys better, which is a trade we are willing to make.

No travel in the rate

Published in-home rates include the journey, and on this corridor the journey is the least predictable part of the afternoon. We make no visits anywhere in the UAE, so there is nothing to charge for and nothing lost to traffic.

Using published market figures read in October 2026: qualified online subject tutors advertise from roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, with Unitors publishing IB tuition from AED 200; specialist IB tutors are quoted from AED 200 to AED 450 and above, TutorChase at around AED 270, and premium examiner-led provision as high as AED 650. In-home visits including travel run from about AED 180 to 500. Those are other providers' rates. IB Gram quotes after a free trial, because component, level and scarcity all affect the figure.

How should we spread a Diploma tutoring budget across two years?+

Earlier than families do. The common pattern is nothing until the second year and then a burst in the spring, which is the most expensive way to buy the least: coursework marks are fixed by then, content teaching has no room to compound, and availability is tightest. A better distribution is a bridging block before the first year, one weekly session in the first spring, a coursework block in the second autumn, and a short triaged paper block in the second spring.

Where is a Diploma point cheapest to obtain?+

Usually near a boundary or in the core. A subject sitting one or two marks below a grade boundary can often gain a point from four to six sessions of paper technique. A core component heading for a low grade can be worth up to three points in combination and sometimes protects the diploma itself. The most expensive point is in the subject the student finds hardest, where content has to be rebuilt over a term — which is where most families spend first.

Does IB Gram send a Diploma tutor to an apartment in Al Khan?+

No. We make no home visits anywhere in the UAE; in-home tutoring is a service we run only in India. Teaching here is one-to-one over live video at a fixed slot in Gulf Standard Time, with the draft or paper on a shared screen. In cost terms that removes the travel component that published in-home rates of roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour include, and it removes the waste when an unpredictable afternoon shortens a visit.

Why is deferring the Extended Essay so costly?+

Because the downside is not one point. Up to three points sit in the combination of Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay, and a low grade in either can create a failing condition that blocks the award of the diploma rather than merely reducing a total. Deferral also displaces the work into the busiest term of the second year, alongside subject coursework and the end of the syllabus. Two sessions at the point the research question is chosen prevent most of that, and they are cheap.

Is a qualified tutor enough, or do we need a specialist at Higher Level?+

At Standard Level in a well-supplied subject a qualified tutor at roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour is often sufficient, because the work is content and practice. At Higher Level with coursework, the marks sit inside internally assessed components with published criteria, and reading a draft against those descriptors reliably needs somebody who has marked the component. That is what the specialist band from AED 200 to AED 450 and above is for, and paying it for a motivation problem is waste.

Should we pay extra for a tutor advertised as an IB examiner?+

Be careful. Premium provision in this market has been advertised as high as AED 650 an hour on the strength of examiner status, which a parent cannot easily verify and which should never be used to imply access to marking, grade boundaries or paper content. We do not describe tutors as examiners without current evidence. If you are paying that premium, ask precisely what it buys that a specialist at half the rate does not, and expect a specific answer.

What does the school owe us before we pay for anything?+

Three things, all free. The internal deadline calendar from the Diploma coordinator, in writing, at the start of each year — on a commuting schedule that is worth weeks of usable evenings. The subject teachers' answer to which two or three things they would prioritise, and for coursework which criterion a draft is weakest against. And the university adviser's account of the offers previous students have actually received, which beats general guidance about prerequisites.

Our DP2 child is struggling in three subjects. Should we fund all three?+

No. Spreading a limited number of sessions across three subjects in the spring of the second year reliably produces no visible movement in any of them. Fund the one or two nearest a grade boundary, or where a coursework band can still be lifted, and deliberately leave the third alone for the term. That advice is uncomfortable and it is what the points arithmetic supports. A provider who accepts all three without discussing priority is taking an order rather than planning.

Is a monthly package sensible for a Diploma family on this corridor?+

Only after marked work has been read, and only where a missed session is handled fairly. Advertised monthly plans in this market have included AED 799 for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour in-home visits. On a corridor where afternoon arrivals are unpredictable, a plan assuming eight sessions a month will usually lose one or two. Ask what happens to a missed session, whether credit carries forward, and whether the arrangement can end at the midpoint.

Can a tutor help with a Diploma investigation without crossing a line?+

Yes, within a boundary we state before the work begins. A tutor teaches the skill the component assesses, explains the published criteria and their command words, tests whether the topic carries enough depth, questions the student's reasoning and gives feedback on a draft the student wrote. A tutor does not write any part of it, rewrite sentences or supply content for submission. This region's market includes a provider selling completed Internal Assessments, and that risk falls entirely on the student.

Does a Diploma tutor working with a Sharjah student need a permit?+

Yes. The private tuition work permit came in under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is issued through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and is granted free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged fifteen to eighteen. Tutoring without it carries fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and its code of conduct bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school.

Are refund guarantees worth anything in this market?+

Treat them as a warning sign. A money-back promise tied to an outcome requires published, enforceable terms and a provider willing to honour them, and in practice the conditions are narrow enough that the promise functions as marketing. We do not offer one. What we do offer instead is a free trial lesson before any commitment, a scoped block with a stated finish date, and a midpoint review at which ending the arrangement is a legitimate outcome rather than a negotiation.

How do we judge whether the two-year spend worked?+

Component by component rather than in total. Each block should produce a specific deliverable: a coursework section lifted into a higher band against the same criteria, an extended-problem paper attempted with recovery from an early error, a research question narrowed into something answerable. Across two years the test is whether the student arrived at the final term with the core finished and two subjects secured, rather than whether the final grades matched a hope nobody could have guaranteed.
