IGCSE Science Tutor in Al Mankhool

An IGCSE science tutor in Al Mankhool is usually being asked to solve a scheduling problem rather than a teaching one. A triple-science student sits three separate qualifications with three sets of papers, and a single revision week has to carry all three plus everything else. This page plans that week and the terms around it, against the June and November series UAE candidates actually sit. Sessions run one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time.

  • A week split deliberately across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Planned around the practical route the centre actually entered
  • Triage when the weeks run out, with the reasoning stated
  • Matched to the exact codes on the school's entry statement

IB & IGCSE in Al Mankhool

Three qualifications, one week, one calendar

A student taking triple science at IGCSE is not taking one subject with three parts. They are entered for three separate qualifications, each with its own code, its own papers, its own practical assessment arrangement and its own place in the examination timetable. Cambridge Biology is 0610, Chemistry 0620, Physics 0625; the Pearson equivalents are 4BI1, 4CH1 and 4PH1. Three entries, three sets of past papers, three mark schemes.

What families underestimate is the arithmetic that follows. If a student has two evenings a week available for science revision across the whole of Year 11, that is roughly one evening per two sciences, and the third gets whatever is left. In practice what happens is that the science the student dislikes most absorbs the attention, the one they find easiest is neglected on the assumption it will hold, and the third drifts. By the mock it is usually the neglected one that has slipped, and nobody planned for that because nobody planned at all.

The calendar compounds it. Cambridge runs IGCSE, O Level and International A Level exams in a June series and a November series. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE exams are available in May/June and November each year, with the November 2026 final timetable running from late October to 19 November 2026 and November 2025 results reaching students on 22 January 2026. Three sciences sit inside the same window, often within days of each other, so a plan that works for one subject in isolation can collapse when the three are scheduled against each other.

A warning that belongs early. The Cambridge February and March series is offered to India only - UAE candidates sit June and November. Cambridge's Primary and Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests do run in March, May and October, which is a separate thing and part of why so much tutoring content written for Gulf parents quotes the wrong window. A family planning a science run-in toward February has three subjects aimed at the wrong month.

Reading your own position in this belt takes one document. Several schools around Al Mankhool and Bur Dubai split science entries between Cambridge and Pearson by subject or by teaching group, so one child can be Cambridge in Biology and Pearson in Physics - two paper sets, two question styles and two administrative timelines for one student. Others enter candidates for Co-ordinated Sciences as a double award rather than three separate qualifications, which changes the content set entirely. The entry statement names all of it in a few lines, and almost no family has read it.

So this page plans the week and the terms rather than teaching the content. How to split a week across three sciences deliberately. How the practical-assessment route your centre entered changes what has to be prepared and when. A term-by-term shape for a double or triple science student. What to prioritise when the weeks run short, with the reasoning stated rather than implied. And what a resit across three subjects actually involves, in weeks as well as in dirhams.

At a glance

  • Triple science means three separate entries, three paper sets and three mark schemes
  • The neglected science is usually the one that slips, because nobody allocated the week
  • UAE candidates sit June and November - February and March belong to India only
  • Confirm the practical-assessment route from the entry statement; it changes the preparation
  • Three sciences sit inside the same examination window, often days apart
  • Lessons are delivered one-to-one over live video, timed to Gulf Standard Time

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Which science qualifications your child is entered for determines how many weeks of work exist and how they have to be divided. Four arrangements are common across the schools these districts feed.

TripleAges 14-16 · Years 10-11

Separate sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Three qualifications, three codes, three paper sets. The full content depth in each, which is what post-sixteen science courses assume. It is also three times the revision load and three practical assessment arrangements, and the planning problem is real rather than theoretical.

The majority arrangement for students in this belt heading toward A Level sciences, the IB Diploma sciences, or medical and engineering routes. The practical consequence for a family in Al Mankhool is that a single weekly science hour cannot serve three subjects, and pretending otherwise produces a term where each gets twenty minutes.

0654Ages 14-16 · Years 10-11

Cambridge Co-ordinated Sciences, double award

All three sciences in a double award, covering less depth in each than the separate qualifications. It solves the timetable problem and limits what can be assumed afterwards, which matters where a student intends a post-sixteen science course at Higher Level or A Level.

Worth confirming before paying for three separate science tutors, because the content set is different and the past papers are a separate series. Also worth checking against what the receiving school requires: post-sixteen science courses state entry requirements in named qualifications, not in general science terms.

4BI1Ages 14-16 · Years 10-11

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE sciences

Biology 4BI1, Chemistry 4CH1 and Physics 4PH1, each with its own paper structure and question style distinct from Cambridge. Exams are available in May/June and November each year, and Pearson publishes provisional timetables ahead of each series so dates can be revised.

Several schools around Al Mankhool split entries between boards by subject, so a student can be Cambridge in one science and Pearson in another. That means two administrative timelines and two paper sets in the same household, and it is the single most common planning surprise in this belt.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

IB Middle Years Programme Sciences

Science taught as an integrated subject group and assessed against four criteria on a 1-8 scale rather than by terminal papers in most schools. There is no board calendar and no entry deadline, which makes the planning problem completely different.

Relevant because households in these districts often have children on both routes. An MYP student's support can be scheduled purely around school deadlines, whereas an IGCSE triple-science sibling is counting weeks to a fixed series in three subjects at once.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

The three sciences are not equally difficult to revise and they do not fail in the same way, which is the basis for splitting a week sensibly rather than evenly.

Biology (Cambridge 0610, Pearson 4BI1)

Core and Extended

The highest content volume and the subject most often revised badly, because reading notes feels productive. Marks go on data interpretation, on definition precision, and on describing a process in the correct order. More content time, more written practice.

Chemistry (Cambridge 0620, Pearson 4CH1)

Core and Extended

A split subject: mechanical calculation work on moles and formulae, plus explanation questions on bonding and reactivity. The two halves need different kinds of practice, and students usually find one comfortable and neglect the other.

Physics (Cambridge 0625, Pearson 4PH1)

Core and Extended

The least content-heavy and the most technique-dependent of the three. Electricity and electromagnetism produce the largest losses, usually on explain questions answered as descriptions. Less content time, more structured-question practice.

Co-ordinated Sciences (Cambridge 0654)

Double award

A different content set from the separate sciences with its own papers, so practice must come from the correct series. Depth is limited, which is the thing to check against the receiving school's post-sixteen entry requirements.

Combined Science (Cambridge 0653)

Single award

A further reduced science provision where the timetable will not fit more. Students on this route who later want a post-sixteen science course need the gap closed deliberately and early, usually across a summer rather than a term.

The alternative-to-practical paper

Where the centre has entered it

A written paper on practical reasoning, with recurring question types: variables, controls, sources of error, reading scales, suggesting improvements. Schools often cover it late because laboratory time goes to the practical work, so it is reliably under-prepared.

The practical examination route

Where the centre has entered it

A laboratory assessment rather than a written one, which changes what needs preparing and where. The apparatus and supervision are the school's; what a tutor adds is the written reasoning and the recording discipline around it.

Mathematical handling inside science

All three sciences

Rearrangement, unit conversion, significant figures, reading gradients, and percentage and ratio work. Frequently the real gap behind a science problem, and quicker to fix as a short block than through more science teaching.

The six-mark extended response

All three sciences

The question type where grades are decided across all three subjects. Marked on linked causal points rather than on volume of correct facts. The skill transfers between the sciences, which makes it the most efficient thing to teach a triple-science student.

Environmental Management (Cambridge 0680)

Single tier

Taken alongside the sciences at some schools in this belt, with a strong data and case-study component. It rewards structured evaluation rather than recall, and a short block on answer structure usually moves it more than content work does.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways to buy science support for a student sitting more than one of them. The choice is really about how a limited week is divided, not about how much teaching is available.

Shared-technique block

The most efficient purchase for a triple-science student: sessions on the things that pay in all three subjects at once. The six-mark extended response, the command verbs, significant figures and unit discipline, and the alternative-to-practical question types. One block, three subjects improved.

  • The six-mark explain question drilled across all three sciences
  • Command verbs taught once and applied everywhere
  • Significant figures, units and rounding treated as one discipline
  • Practical-reasoning question types practised as a set

Single-science repair block

Three to five sessions aimed at the one science that has genuinely fallen behind, scoped from a marked script. Appropriate where two subjects are stable and one is not, which is the most common pattern in this belt by the middle of Year 11.

  • Scoped from a marked paper on the correct code and tier
  • One subject, one identified failure pattern
  • Marked against the official scheme every session
  • Stops when the pattern is reliable, not at term's end

Rotating weekly hour

A single weekly hour that rotates between the three sciences on a fixed cycle rather than drifting to whichever one is most frightening. It is less than ideal and it is often all the week allows, and a stated rotation beats an unstated one every time.

  • A fixed rotation agreed in advance and written down
  • Each subject's turn has a named task, not a general review
  • Work set between sessions for the two subjects not covered
  • Rotation adjusted after each mock, from the audit

01

Splitting one week across three sciences

Start from the honest total. Ask how many hours a week your child genuinely has for science outside school once homework, the mandatory subjects, other GCSEs, travel and sleep are accounted for. In this belt the realistic answer in Year 11 is often two to four hours, and three sciences have to fit in it. That number, not an aspiration, is what a plan should be built on.

Then split it deliberately rather than evenly, because the three subjects do not need equal time. Biology carries the highest content volume and benefits most from sustained reading combined with written question practice. Chemistry divides into mechanical calculation work and explanation questions, and most students are comfortable with one half and neglect the other. Physics is the least content-heavy and the most technique-dependent, so it needs proportionally less content time and more structured-question practice.

Write the split down. An unstated allocation becomes an emotional one: the student spends the time on whichever subject frightened them most recently, the subject they find easiest is neglected on the assumption that it will hold, and by the mock it is the neglected one that slipped. A written rotation, reviewed after each mock, prevents the most common failure in a triple-science year without requiring any additional hours.

One practical note on how to hold the split. Where the week allows only one session, a stated rotation is better than three fragments: a full hour on one science, with work set for the other two, beats twenty minutes each. Twenty minutes cannot contain a timed question and a proper marking conversation, which are the two things that actually move a science grade.

The table gives a starting allocation. Adjust it from your child's own marked scripts, which will usually indicate a different balance from the one a family expects.

The practical route the centre entered changes the plan

Practical skills are assessed in IGCSE science either through a practical examination or through the alternative-to-practical written paper, and which one applies depends on the centre's entry rather than on the subject. It is written on the entry statement and it materially changes what needs preparing, where and when. A family that does not know which route applies is preparing for one of two different things by guesswork.

Where the alternative-to-practical paper applies, the preparation is written and it is entirely teachable outside a laboratory. The paper has recurring question types: identify the independent, dependent and controlled variables precisely; explain why holding a particular variable constant protects the conclusion; name a specific source of error and its effect on the result; propose a concrete change to method or apparatus; read a scale with appropriate precision; suggest an improvement that addresses a named limitation. Each has a right shape of answer, and schools cover it late because laboratory time goes to the practical work itself.

Where the practical examination route applies, the apparatus, the supervision and the handling experience are the school's and cannot be bought elsewhere. What a tutor adds is the written and recording discipline around it: tabulating results properly, deciding on repeats, recording to an appropriate precision, and knowing what the examiner wants to see written down. That is a real contribution and it is not a substitute for laboratory time.

The table sets out the two routes against what each demands. Confirm your child's from the entry statement, which names it alongside the subject code.

A term-by-term shape for a multi-science year

Three sciences across two years will not organise themselves, and the default - revise each in syllabus order when it feels urgent - produces three incomplete passes and no reliable marks. A term-by-term shape avoids that, and it needs only to be written down once at the start of Year 10 and reviewed after each mock.

The principle is that technique comes early and content comes continuously. The shared skills - the six-mark response, command verbs, units and significant figures, practical-reasoning question types - should be taught once, early, because they pay in all three subjects simultaneously for the rest of the course. Content work then runs alongside the school's teaching, with the rotation adjusted by what the marked scripts show rather than by anxiety.

Year 11 changes the balance rather than the structure. Papers replace content as the main activity, and the shared-technique slot becomes an audit slot: three marked scripts to read rather than one, with the four causes of lost marks counted separately for each subject. That comparison across three sciences is unusually informative, because a student whose method marks are fine in Chemistry and poor in Physics has a subject-specific habit rather than a general one.

There is one more reason to write the shape down at the start of Year 10 rather than improvising. In this belt a large share of students change campus at sixteen, so the science grades they leave Year 11 with are also an admissions document for a school whose requirements the family has not yet read. Knowing in Year 10 which sciences the intended post-sixteen route will name turns an abstract plan into a set of priorities, and it costs one email to the receiving school to find out.

The table gives the shape. Fit it to the school's own teaching order and mock calendar, both of which vary across this belt.

Triage: which science to prioritise when the weeks run short

Eight weeks before a series, a triple-science student with three unfinished subjects has a genuine allocation problem and it needs a decision rather than a hope. The instinct is to divide the remaining weeks equally, which produces three partial improvements and often no grade change in any subject. A deliberate ranking produces fewer improvements that are large enough to count.

Three criteria decide the ranking. First, where the recoverable marks are: a subject where the student nearly knows the material and is losing marks on structure or method is far more recoverable than one where whole topics are missing. Second, what the next stage requires: a student heading for a post-sixteen Chemistry course has more at stake in Chemistry than in Biology, and the receiving school states its requirements in named subjects. Third, which subject is closest to a tier or grade boundary, where a small movement changes the outcome.

Physics is frequently the highest-yield late subject in this belt, for a specific reason: it has the lowest content volume and the highest share of losses coming from technique, particularly explain questions answered as descriptions. A student who knows physics and writes descriptions can gain substantially in a few weeks. Biology is usually the lowest-yield late subject, because its losses are more often genuine content volume, which cannot be installed quickly.

What should be protected regardless of ranking is the shared slot. The six-mark response, the command verbs and the units discipline pay in all three subjects simultaneously, which makes them the most efficient use of a short run-in. The table ranks the three sciences for late work with the reasoning attached.

05

Where the marks go, differently in each science

  • Biology: process order, definition precision, unfamiliar data interpretation
  • Chemistry calculations: units, rounding, concentration against amount
  • Chemistry explanations: ordered cause and effect rather than a list of facts
  • Physics: the command verb, especially on electricity and electromagnetism
  • All three: the six-mark response, marked on linked points, not on volume
  • The six-mark skill transfers intact between the three subjects

The three sciences share a mark-scheme philosophy and fail in distinguishable ways, and knowing the difference lets a session be aimed rather than general. In Biology the content volume is high and so is the temptation to revise by reading. The marks go on describing a process in the correct sequence, on the precision of definitions, and on interpreting data the student has not seen before. A student who has read the textbook twice and never written a timed answer will underperform relative to their knowledge.

In Chemistry the losses split cleanly. On the calculation side they are procedural: dropped units, premature rounding, a concentration confused with an amount, a formula misremembered under pressure. On the explanation side they are structural: a correct set of facts about a reaction presented in no particular order, where the scheme wanted cause connected to effect. Most students are comfortable with one side and avoid the other, and a tutor's first job is to find out which.

In Physics the dominant loss is the command verb. Explain, describe, state and calculate demand different responses, and a student who writes a description where an explanation was asked for can know the physics perfectly and score two marks from four. Electricity and electromagnetism concentrate these losses, partly because the reasoning chains are longer and partly because students struggle to reason about what happens elsewhere in a circuit when one component changes.

Across all three sits the six-mark extended response, which is where grades are decided and which behaves identically in each subject: marked on linked causal points rather than on volume of correct content. Three well-ordered sentences outscore eight unordered true ones. This is the single most efficient thing to teach a triple-science student, because the skill transfers intact between all three qualifications.

06

Separate or co-ordinated: a decision with a deadline

Some of the pressure in a triple-science year is structural. Three separate sciences is a heavy load, and where it does not fit, Cambridge Co-ordinated Sciences 0654 as a double award or Combined Science 0653 as a single award covers all three with less depth. Those are legitimate routes and they solve a real timetable problem. They also limit what a post-sixteen science course can assume, and that is the trade to understand before choosing.

The constraint is that the decision is taken at entry stage and is set by the school. By the time a family concludes in the spring of Year 11 that three separate sciences was too much, the entry has been made and the amendment window has closed. The conversation to have, in Year 10 or early Year 11, is with the school about load and with the receiving institution about what it will require.

That second conversation is the one families skip. Post-sixteen science courses state entry requirements in named qualifications and specific grades, and a school offering A Level Chemistry or Diploma Higher Level Chemistry may ask for something that a double award does not provide. Asking directly, before the entry is made, costs nothing and prevents the situation where a student holds a perfectly respectable science qualification that does not open the door they wanted.

Where three separate sciences is the right load but is going badly, the alternative to changing the entry is changing the plan: a written weekly split, a protected shared-technique slot, and triage by recoverable marks rather than equal division. That is usually more effective than a structural change made in a panic, and it keeps the depth that the next stage requires.

07

Resitting across three subjects

A science that goes wrong in the June series can usually be retaken in November, and for a triple-science student the decision has an extra dimension: which subject, and whether more than one. Cambridge runs a June series and a November series; Pearson Edexcel International GCSE exams are available in May/June and November each year. The November 2026 Pearson final timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026.

Three practical constraints shape the decision. The entry fee, which where a student sits as a private candidate is set by the approved examination centre rather than by the board, so it has to be confirmed in writing with the centre per subject rather than estimated. The autumn workload, because a resit block runs alongside the start of a post-sixteen course, which is the busiest term in a student's life so far. And the result date: Pearson's November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026, while June 2026 results went to students on 20 August 2026 - so an autumn resit does not meet a December deadline however well it goes.

The advantage of a resit block is that it is more targeted than the original preparation. The student has sat the real paper in that subject, knows what it felt like, and can usually name which questions they recognised and could not finish. That turns the block into specific repair rather than general revision, and it is often shorter than families expect. Resitting two sciences at once, however, reinstates the allocation problem in a term with less room than Year 11 had.

Where a resit is under consideration, settle the entry and the centre fee first, then scope the block, then check the result date against whatever deadline prompted the question. Doing it in that order prevents the common outcome of a well-prepared resit whose result arrives after the decision it was meant to influence.

08

Three subjects, one budget

A triple-science student is the case where buying a weekly hour per subject is most tempting and least often affordable, so the allocation question is financial as well as temporal. Three weekly specialist hours is a substantial monthly commitment, and in most cases a shared-technique block plus one targeted single-science repair achieves more for less, because the shared skills improve all three qualifications at once.

Multiply each published band by three and the budget question largely answers itself. Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 table puts qualified online tuition at AED 150 to 300 an hour, which is AED 450 to 900 for one week of three single hours. Its specialist IB, IGCSE and A Level band of AED 200 to 450 or more becomes AED 600 to 1,350 a week, and its in-home one-to-one figure of AED 180 to 350 including travel becomes AED 540 to 1,050 before anybody has opened a past paper. Named rates sit inside those bands: Unitors publishes IGCSE tuition from AED 150, TutorChase publishes AED 270 and BartyED AED 650, while home tutors are quoted up to AED 500 an hour including travel. Only the entry platforms survive the multiplication, Tutopiya advertising from AED 33 to 52 an hour and EdFlik from AED 45 to 65, and a triple-science candidate who buys three cheap hours has bought the one thing these three qualifications do not reward. Each figure is attributed to the provider that published it and was read in October 2026. None of those is an IB Gram price.

The monthly view decides most families' plans. One Dubai provider publishes AED 799 a month for eight online sessions, near AED 100 an hour. In-home monthly packages are advertised at AED 1,599 to AED 1,799 for four two-hour visits, near AED 200 to 225 for the same eight hours. Bestimate's monthly estimates for weekly one-hour sessions run AED 240 to 600 budget, AED 600 to 1,200 mid-range and AED 1,000 to 2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support - and a triple-science student buying one hour per subject at the specialist rate is at the top of that range or beyond it.

IB Gram does not offer home visits in the UAE; in-home tutoring is a service we offer only in India. Sessions for Al Mankhool students run one-to-one over live video. For a three-subject plan the format has a specific practical benefit: three different specialists can run in consecutive hours or on different days without anybody travelling, which an in-home arrangement cannot do economically across three subjects.

09

Permits, regulators and the periods inside the day

Two things a parent can establish before committing to any of this. The MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and is granted free of charge for two years, covering teachers registered in government or private schools, employees in the government and private sectors, unemployed individuals, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. MoHRE's own service is Issuance of a New Work Permit - Private Tutor Licensing, applied for through the smart app, website and e-services system with a stated two-working-day completion time. Because the permit is free, no part of a quoted rate is a permit fee being recovered. Operating without one carries fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule is published, so nobody should be quoting an amount.

Second, the school's inspection report, which for a science family is directly useful because it comments on science provision. KHDA is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in Dubai and publishes reports on a six-band scale from Outstanding to Very Weak. If science teaching is named as a strength, the school's own revision support may cover ground you were about to buy, and the private hour belongs on technique. Across the country, ADEK supervises licensing and accreditation of private schools in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the Sharjah Private Education Authority regulates Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah's Department of Knowledge regulates there, and the Ministry of Education supervises Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.

A tutoring business with premises in Dubai requires a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, with initial approval first and renewal requested at least thirty days before expiry. IB Gram holds no such permit, no regulator accreditation and no UAE office, and does not describe itself as approved by KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson. We also do not reproduce or supply board syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes or grade-boundary tables; those are published and owned by the boards and your child's school holds the current versions.

Finally, the periods that squeeze a three-science week. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are mandatory in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed curriculum, with KHDA's requirements due from the start of the 2025-26 academic year or April 2026 where the year begins in April. Instructional time is calculated on a forty-minute lesson unit, schools may vary lesson length provided the weekly total is met, and KHDA advises at least twenty-five minutes for any mandatory-subject lesson. Those periods sit inside the school day, which is part of why the honest weekly science total in Year 11 is two to four hours rather than the larger figure a timetable implies. Ramadan compresses it further, and the sensible move is to agree in advance that sessions shift to a post-Iftar slot for that period and return afterwards.

Where we tutor

The school mix and what it does to a science plan

Schools across these districts enter candidates differently - separate sciences or co-ordinated, Cambridge or Pearson, practical examination or alternative-to-practical. The notes below are about reading your own position.

Al Mankhool

A mixed intake across several curricula, so neighbouring students are on different science arrangements entirely. A recommendation passed between families in the same building is as likely to concern a different board as the same one.

Bur Dubai and Al Fahidi

Long-established schools, several of which split science entries between Cambridge and Pearson by subject. A student can be Cambridge in Biology and Pearson in Physics, which means two timelines and two paper sets for one child.

Karama

Dense and close, with a large informal tuition market that fills up as a series approaches. For a triple-science student the risk is appointing a general science tutor for all three, which produces a generalist in each at the point depth is needed.

Al Satwa and Al Hamriya

Students travelling in several directions, where confusion between co-ordinated and separate sciences most often surfaces. The entry statement resolves it in a line, and it should be checked before any past papers are practised.

Al Jafiliya and Za'abeel

Working-parent households where science sessions sit late. With three subjects to cover, late sessions tend to become whichever science is most frightening that week, which is the opposite of a plan.

Oud Metha

The adjacent school belt with several large schools running to sixteen. Mock windows differ between these schools and the Bur Dubai ones, so a shared tutor planning one run-in across two students on different calendars serves one of them badly.

Al Jaddaf and Dubai Healthcare City

The nearest IB continuum option, so some students here are on MYP sciences with no board calendar at all. Their support is scheduled purely around school deadlines, which is a different planning problem.

Deira and Al Garhoud

Across the creek with its own cluster and its own entry practices. Students travelling that way lose the late afternoon to the crossing, which matters most when three subjects need session volume in the closing weeks.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Al Mankhool

The Al Mankhool and Bur Dubai schools

Running separate and co-ordinated sciences across Cambridge and Pearson, with different practical-assessment routes between them. Each sets its own mock window, and three sciences all sit inside it.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the entry statement for all three

Board, code, tier and practical route for each science. Schools split entries between boards by subject, so one child can be Cambridge in Biology and Pearson in Physics, and the paper sets and timelines differ accordingly.

  2. 02

    Count the honest weekly hours

How many hours a week your child genuinely has for science once homework, the mandatory subjects, other subjects and travel are accounted for. In Year 11 in this belt that is usually two to four, and the plan has to be built on the real number.

  3. 03

Send one marked script per subject

Three scripts are more informative than one, because comparing the four causes of lost marks across the sciences distinguishes a general habit from a subject-specific one. A student whose method marks are fine in Chemistry and poor in Physics has a Physics habit.

  4. 04

Agree a written split and a shared slot

A rotation written down at the start, with one session in four protected for the shared skills that pay in all three subjects. An unstated allocation becomes an emotional one and the neglected subject is the one that slips.

  5. 05

Re-audit after each mock and adjust

Three marked scripts, audited into content, method, misreading and the clock for each subject, and the rotation adjusted from the count. This is also the point to triage if the weeks are short, with the ranking stated rather than implied.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Three subjects planned as one week

A triple-science student has one week and three qualifications competing for it. We start from the honest hourly total, split it deliberately rather than evenly, and write the rotation down so the neglected subject stops being whichever one is quietest.

The shared skills taught once

The six-mark extended response, command verbs, units and significant figures and practical-reasoning question types pay in Biology, Chemistry and Physics simultaneously. One block improves three qualifications, which is the most efficient purchase available here.

Matched to the exact codes and practical route

0610, 0620, 0625, 0654, 4BI1, 4CH1, 4PH1 and the practical examination or alternative-to-practical route each change what has to be practised. We work from the entry statement rather than from the subject name.

Triage stated, not implied

When weeks run short we rank the three sciences by recoverable marks and by what the next stage requires, and we say which subject we are deprioritising and why. Dividing the remaining weeks equally produces three partial improvements and often no grade change.

Three specialists without three journeys

Online delivery means three subject specialists can run on different days or in consecutive hours with nobody travelling, which is not economic across three subjects with in-home arrangements. IB Gram offers home visits only in India.

Figures attributed, claims limited to the evidence

Every dirham band belongs to the provider that published it with the month read. No regulator approval, no UAE office, no grade guarantees, no board documents supplied, and no entry fee quoted that only a centre can confirm.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Mankhool: your questions answered

How should a triple-science student in Al Mankhool divide their revision week?+

Start from the honest total - in Year 11 in this belt, usually two to four hours a week outside school once homework, the mandatory subjects and travel are accounted for. Then split it deliberately rather than evenly: Biology takes the largest share because its content volume is highest, Chemistry a third split between calculations and explanations, Physics the smallest because its losses are mostly technique. Protect one session in four for the shared skills. Write the rotation down, because an unstated allocation becomes an emotional one.

Which science usually slips in a triple-science year, and why?+

The one the student finds easiest, because it gets neglected on the assumption it will hold while attention goes to whichever subject was most frightening that week. By the mock it is the neglected subject that has moved backwards, and nobody planned for it because nobody planned at all. A written rotation reviewed after each mock prevents this without requiring any additional hours, which makes it the cheapest intervention available in a three-science year.

What is the most efficient thing to teach a student sitting three sciences?+

The skills that pay in all three at once. The six-mark extended response behaves identically in Biology, Chemistry and Physics: it is marked on linked causal points rather than on volume of correct content, so three well-ordered sentences outscore eight unordered true ones. Command verbs, significant figures and unit discipline transfer the same way, as do the alternative-to-practical question types. One block of sessions on those improves three qualifications simultaneously.

How do we find out whether our child sits a practical exam or the written alternative?+

It is on the school's entry statement alongside the subject code, and it changes the preparation materially. Where the alternative-to-practical paper applies, the work is written and fully teachable outside a laboratory, with recurring question types on variables, controls, sources of error, reading scales and suggesting improvements. Where the practical examination route applies, the apparatus and supervision are the school's and a tutor adds recording and tabulating discipline. Ask in the autumn rather than the spring: schools cover the written paper late.

Which science is worth prioritising if only a few weeks remain?+

Usually Physics, because it has the lowest content volume and the highest share of losses coming from technique - particularly explain questions answered as descriptions. Chemistry calculations come next, being mechanical and drillable. Biology content gaps are the poorest late target, because the losses there are more often genuine volume and volume cannot be installed quickly. Rank by recoverable marks and by what the next stage requires, and protect the shared-technique slot whatever the ranking.

Is it worth hiring three separate science tutors?+

Rarely, and mainly for budget reasons rather than principle. Three weekly specialist hours is at or beyond the top of the published monthly bands for exam-year support, and in most cases a shared-technique block plus one targeted single-science repair achieves more for less, because the shared skills improve all three qualifications. Where three specialists genuinely are needed, online delivery lets them run on different days or consecutively without anybody travelling, which is not economic in-home across three subjects.

What do we do with three marked mock scripts?+

Audit each separately into four causes - content not known, method not shown, question misread, time ran out - and then compare across the three. That comparison is unusually informative. A student whose method marks are fine in Chemistry and poor in Physics has a Physics-specific habit rather than a general one, and the repair is different. A student losing marks to the clock in all three has a paper-strategy problem. Then adjust the written rotation from the counts.

Should my child take separate sciences or Co-ordinated Sciences?+

It is a load decision with a downstream consequence, and it is taken at entry stage by the school rather than in the spring of Year 11. Co-ordinated Sciences 0654 as a double award, or Combined Science 0653 as a single award, solve a genuine timetable problem and limit what a post-sixteen science course can assume. Ask the receiving school what it requires, by named qualification, before the entry is made - a respectable science qualification that does not open the intended door is the outcome to avoid.

Which exam series do science candidates in Dubai sit?+

June and November. Cambridge runs IGCSE, O Level and International A Level exams in a June series and a November series; Pearson Edexcel International GCSE exams are available in May/June and November each year, with the November 2026 final timetable running from late October to 19 November 2026. The Cambridge February and March series is offered to India only. Cambridge's Primary and Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests do run in March, May and October, which is a separate thing and part of why the confusion persists.

Can one science be retaken in November without the others?+

Yes, and that is usually the sensible version. A single-subject resit block is targeted, because the student has sat the real paper and can name which questions they recognised and could not finish. Resitting two sciences at once reinstates the allocation problem in an autumn term that already contains the start of a post-sixteen course. Settle the entry and the centre's fee per subject in writing first, then scope the block, then check the result date against whatever deadline prompted the question.

When will a November science resit result actually arrive?+

Later than most families assume. Pearson's November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026, while June 2026 results went to centres on 19 August 2026 and to students on 20 August 2026. So a summer result is available before a September start and an autumn result is not. If the reason for the resit is a school or university deadline in December, a November sitting does not meet it however well the student performs, and that should be established before the entry is made.

With three sciences in one window, does the timetable zone matter?+

Because the timetable differs between zones, and with three sciences in the same window that matters more than usual. Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones, states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for your zone, and says plainly that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong one. Take the dates from the school's entry statement and the board's live timetable rather than from a PDF found through a search engine.

My child reads their biology notes constantly and still underperforms. Why?+

Because reading produces recognition and the paper tests retrieval and writing. Biology's marks go on describing a process in the correct sequence, on the precision of definitions, and on interpreting data the student has not seen before - none of which improves by re-reading. The fix is written, timed answers marked against the official scheme, which feels much worse and works. A student who has read the textbook twice and never written a timed answer will underperform relative to what they actually know.

What does science tuition for three subjects cost in this market?+

Budget by the month rather than the hour. Published Dubai rates are AED 33 to 65 at the budget end from Tutopiya and EdFlik, AED 150 upward from Unitors for IGCSE, AED 150 to 300 for qualified online tuition and AED 200 to 450 or more for specialist provision on Bestimate's 2026 table, with TutorChase at AED 270 and BartyED at AED 650. Bestimate's monthly estimate for specialist exam-year support is AED 1,000 to 2,000 or more, and one hour per science at that rate sits at or above the top of it.

Does the mandatory subject block really reduce science study time?+

It reduces the time available more than families account for. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are mandatory in all Dubai private schools whatever the licensed curriculum, with KHDA's requirements due from the start of the 2025-26 academic year. Instructional time is calculated on a forty-minute lesson unit, and KHDA advises at least twenty-five minutes for any mandatory-subject lesson. Those periods sit inside the school day alongside three sciences and everything else, which is why the honest weekly total outside school is two to four hours.

How do three subjects keep running through Ramadan and term breaks?+

By counting them out of the plan before it is agreed, and by moving the slot deliberately. Term breaks, public holidays, Ramadan and the school's own mock windows remove sessions, so a notional eight-week plan in the UAE academic year routinely delivers six - and across three subjects that loss is three partial plans rather than one. For Ramadan, agree in advance that sessions shift to a post-Iftar time and return afterwards, which preserves a rotation that would otherwise simply stop for a month.

Count the hours, write the split, protect the shared slot

Three sciences do not fit in a week that was not divided on purpose. Ask the school for the entry statement for all three subjects, so you know the boards, codes, tiers and practical routes. Count the hours your child genuinely has outside school, which in Year 11 is usually fewer than it feels. Then write a rotation down, keep one session in four for the skills that pay in all three subjects, and bring three marked scripts to a free trial lesson so the split can be adjusted from evidence rather than from anxiety. Sessions run one-to-one over live video.
