IB Tutor near me in Remraam

Searching for an IB tutor near me in Remraam tends to happen at one of two moments: the first disappointing Year 12 report, or the panic of Year 13. Those two moments need completely different help, and the difference is the calendar. This page maps the Diploma across both years so a family can see which phase they are in. Lessons reach Remraam one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time; IB Gram does not send tutors to UAE addresses.

IB & IGCSE in Remraam

The same request means different things in Year 12 and Year 13

Two families send almost identical messages. One has a Year 12 whose first report came back a band below expectations. The other has a Year 13 eleven weeks from final papers. The words are the same and the right answer is not remotely similar, because in the first case almost every lever is still available and in the second only two or three are.

In Year 12 the levers are large. Subject and level combinations can sometimes still change. Internal assessment topics are being chosen, and those components carry a meaningful share of each subject grade with deadlines months out. The Extended Essay question is still open. Non-calculator fluency, notation discipline and answer construction can all be rebuilt without pressure. Money spent here buys ceiling.

In Year 13 the levers are narrow. The internal components are mostly submitted, the subject combination is fixed, and content genuinely absent will not become secure enough to deploy. What remains is technique, timing, command-term discipline and marked-script repair, and those still move marks, often substantially. Money spent here buys execution.

Remraam shapes the practical side rather than the academic one. It is a low-rise apartment community in Dubailand, built as Al Thamam and Al Ramth with its own park and retail, reached from Al Qudra Road and Emirates Road. South View School sits close by and takes students through Year 11, so Diploma students here have generally moved outward to Dubai Hills, Al Barsha South or The Sustainable City, and their evenings are longer than their younger siblings' were.

The reason this page leads with the calendar rather than with subjects is that families in this corridor consistently buy help at the least efficient moment. The pattern is predictable: nothing in Year 12 because the grades look survivable, then a heavy commitment in the spring of Year 13 when only technique is still movable. Reversing that order usually costs less in total and produces a better result, which is an awkward thing for a tutoring page to say and true nonetheless.

The other reason is that the Diploma runs three calendars at once. The six subjects have their own internal deadlines. The core has deadlines set by the school rather than by the IB. And in the final year the university application season occupies the same ten weeks as the heaviest coursework. A plan that tracks only the subjects collides with the other two, and that collision is what most Year 13 distress in this belt actually is.

Delivery is one-to-one over live video, on Gulf Standard Time, so the session can start when the student sits down rather than when a car arrives. Home visits are a service IB Gram runs in India only, and nothing on this page should be read as an offer to come to an Al Ramth or Al Thamam address. What follows is the calendar, phase by phase, with the dated anchors that are actually verifiable.

At a glance

  • Year 12 money buys ceiling; Year 13 money buys execution
  • Internal components carry a meaningful share of each subject grade and have movable deadlines
  • Diploma students at UAE schools sit the May session; confirm dates through the school's coordinator
  • Remraam Diploma students travel further than its IGCSE students do
  • Market rates for a qualified online subject tutor in Dubai run roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour (Unitors)
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Three things run in parallel across a Diploma and each has its own calendar. Families usually track one and are surprised by the other two.

DP SUBJECTSAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

The six subjects

Three at Higher Level and three at Standard, each with external papers and an internally assessed component. The internal component is the part with a deadline inside the course rather than at the end of it, which makes it the only subject element a family can still influence mid-course.

Subject menus differ between the Dubai schools Remraam students attend, and so do option topics within a subject. Two students described as doing the same Diploma subject may sit different option questions, which changes what preparation means in the final year.

DP COREAges 16-19 · Across both years

Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS

A 4,000-word Extended Essay with supervised reflection sessions, a Theory of Knowledge exhibition and a 1,600-word essay on a prescribed title, and CAS running throughout with its own documented requirements. Points sit on top of the subject grades.

The core is where Diploma students in this belt most often lose time rather than marks, because its deadlines are set internally by the school and therefore differ between schools. Asking for the school's own core calendar in writing at the start of Year 12 prevents most of the trouble.

APPLICATIONSAges 17-18 · Year 13

The university application year

Predicted grades, references, personal statements and tests, running through the autumn and winter of the final year and competing directly with coursework deadlines and mocks for the same weeks.

Predicted grades are produced by the school from mock and coursework evidence, so a mock in the autumn of Year 13 carries weight well beyond its own marks. Students in this belt are often applying to several countries at once, which multiplies the administrative load.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

These are the subjects most requested from this corridor, with a note on where each one's internal deadline falls in the cycle.

Chemistry

HL and SL

The scientific investigation depends on the school's practical calendar, so the design conversation has to happen before the laboratory slot rather than after it. Paper technique work belongs to the final two terms.

Physics

HL and SL

Same investigation structure as chemistry, with uncertainty propagation as the criterion that costs most. Extended-response technique is the Year 13 priority and responds within about a month.

Biology

HL and SL

Investigations here struggle with biological variability, which has to be designed around rather than apologised for later. Terminology and command-term work needs weeks rather than days, so it starts earlier.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

The exploration is approved early in Year 12 and submitted long before papers. Non-calculator fluency should be rebuilt in Year 12, because in Year 13 there is no slack to spend on it.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Same exploration timing. The interpretation habit, writing the sentence that reads a modelled result back into context, is quick to install and worth doing before mocks rather than after.

Economics

HL and SL

Three commentaries spread across the course, each tied to a published article, so the deadlines recur rather than arriving once. Article selection is the part to get help with early.

Business Management

HL and SL

A research project at Higher Level needing primary data, which means the question has to be feasible before it is approved. That is a Year 12 conversation and an expensive one to have late.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

The Individual Oral is scheduled by the school and is the most preparable component in the Diploma. At Higher Level the HL Essay adds a second internal deadline in the same window.

Theory of Knowledge

Core

An exhibition and a prescribed-title essay, both internally scheduled. Students who begin the essay in the term it is due write worse essays than those who choose a title early and think about it.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three formats, each tied to a phase of the two-year cycle rather than to a preference. All are delivered over live video.

Year 12 ceiling work

A weekly hour through the first year, split between content that is being met for the first time and the internal component currently open. The least urgent and highest-return spending in the whole Diploma.

  • Internal assessment topic interrogated before approval
  • Non-calculator and notation fluency rebuilt without pressure
  • Follows the school's own scheme of work
  • Weekly notes naming the next target

Autumn of Year 13: the predicted-grade block

A block around the autumn mocks, because those mocks feed the predicted grades a university application depends on. Technique work with a deadline attached, rather than general revision.

  • Timed papers before the mock, not after it
  • Command-term and mark-allocation discipline
  • Marked-script repair between mock papers
  • Core deadlines mapped so they do not collide

Final-stretch execution block

Two sessions a week in the last eight to twelve weeks, built on timed papers and error patterns. No new content, because content learned at this point is not secure enough to use under pressure.

  • Error patterns named by the student and retested
  • Paper-by-paper pacing and question order rehearsed
  • Low-density topics deliberately left alone
  • Slots after Iftar during Ramadan where families prefer

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Remraam

01

The two-year Diploma, laid out

The Diploma has a rhythm that varies little between schools. The first term of Year 12 is content at a new pace, with students discovering that Higher Level means a different kind of work rather than more of the same. By the second term internal assessment topics are being discussed and the Extended Essay subject is chosen. The third term of Year 12 usually brings a first set of internal examinations and, in many schools, a draft deadline or two.

Year 13 inverts the balance. The autumn is the heaviest period in the entire course, because coursework deadlines, the core components, the autumn mocks and university applications land in the same ten weeks. Students who arrive at that autumn with the Extended Essay substantially done have a very different term from those who do not, and that is a decision taken a year earlier.

After the autumn comes a quieter stretch where papers are the only real activity, then the session itself. The useful way to think about tutoring across this is as three different products: ceiling work, predicted-grade work, and execution work. A family that buys the same weekly hour across all twenty-four months pays for twenty-four months and gets the benefit of perhaps eight.

The IB's own session and results dates are not restated here. The IB site, through the school's Diploma coordinator, is the only reliable source for them, and any page that publishes them without that check will eventually be wrong. What is safe to plan against is the sequence, and the sequence is stable.

The core, counted backwards

The core causes more distress in this corridor than any single subject, and almost all of it is scheduling rather than difficulty. The Extended Essay, the Theory of Knowledge exhibition and essay, and CAS all have internal deadlines set by the school, which means they differ between the schools Remraam students attend and cannot be looked up in a general guide.

The Extended Essay is the big one. It runs to 4,000 words with supervised reflection sessions along the way, and the decision that sets its ceiling is the research question, settled before any writing. Most weak essays are not badly written; they are answering a question that cannot be answered in 4,000 words with the sources available. One session interrogating the question in the second term of Year 12 is worth more than ten in Year 13.

Theory of Knowledge has two parts. The exhibition asks a student to connect three objects to an internal assessment prompt, and the essay responds to a prescribed title with areas of knowledge structuring the argument. Essays that answer the title in general terms, however fluently, are capped. Choosing a title early and thinking about it over months produces better work than writing it in the term it is due.

CAS is documented rather than graded in the same way, and the documentation is where students lose time in Year 13. Recording activity and reflection as it happens rather than reconstructing it later is the whole trick, and it is the same habit the Extended Essay reflection sessions require.

03

Predicted grades and why the autumn mock matters most

  • Predicted grades come from autumn mock and coursework evidence
  • Timed practice belongs before the mock, not after it
  • Applications, coursework, core and mocks collide in the same ten weeks
  • Map all deadlines onto one page and decide deliberately what gets less

Predicted grades are produced by the school from the evidence it holds, which in the autumn of Year 13 means mock performance and coursework. A university application in most systems travels on those predictions, which gives an autumn mock a weight far beyond its own marks. Students rarely understand this until afterwards.

The practical consequence is that technique work belongs before the mock rather than after it. A student who sits an autumn mock having never practised under timed conditions produces a score that understates them, and that score then follows them into an application. Four or five timed papers across the preceding weeks is a small intervention with a disproportionate effect, and it is cheap compared with the alternative.

The second consequence is about collision. Applications, coursework deadlines, core components and mocks arrive in the same ten weeks, and students handle each badly because they are handling all four. Mapping the deadlines onto one page at the start of the term, then deciding deliberately what gets less attention, produces a better outcome than attempting everything.

A caution about predictions themselves. They are an estimate from partial evidence, and schools vary in how generously they predict. A prediction below a student's capability can sometimes be revisited with evidence later in the year, and that conversation is worth having politely and early rather than after offers arrive. It is a school conversation, not a tutor's.

One further practical point. Universities in different countries weigh predictions differently, and a student applying to several systems at once may need the same prediction to satisfy more than one threshold. That is a reason to treat the autumn mock as the serious examination it functionally is, rather than as a rehearsal that can be taken lightly and improved on later.

04

Mock season in a Diploma, read properly

  • Six scripts read together reveal shared failures that one script hides
  • Command-term and timing problems respond inside a fortnight
  • Content absence in one subject is a narrower problem with a longer runway
  • Mock severity varies by school; read annotations rather than the number

A Diploma mock season produces six subject scripts in a fortnight, and the volume is part of why they get read as grades rather than as evidence. Those scripts are the only specific information anyone has about where marks are going, and they arrive while there is still time to act.

Each script separates four failures that feel identical to the student. Content absence shows as questions untouched. Technique loss shows as right method and lost marks. Timing collapse shows as a strong start and an abandoned final page. Misreading shows as a good answer to the question that was not asked, almost always because a command term was skipped in a long stem.

Reading six scripts together is more useful than reading one, because the same failure usually appears in several. A student who skips command terms does it in chemistry, economics and English alike, and one fortnight of drilling lifts all three. A student whose losses are content-based in a single subject has a narrower problem with a longer timescale. Only the comparison across subjects reveals which case applies.

On the grades themselves, schools set mocks at different severities, and a paper marked harshly to motivate a cohort is not a forecast. Treat the number as a position and the annotations as the information. Where a school publishes its own boundaries, compare them against the most recent published boundaries for the same component rather than assuming they match.

05

Ramadan, holidays and the Dubai academic year

  • Sessions after Iftar cost nothing to arrange when nobody is travelling
  • Breaks are the only periods with no competing homework
  • The summer between Year 12 and Year 13 is the most valuable block in the course
  • Mark term dates, mocks, internal deadlines, Ramadan and travel once, then flex

A Diploma plan written in September that assumes uninterrupted weekly sessions for two years is fiction, and finding that out in the spring of Year 13 is expensive. The UAE academic year has long breaks and short dense terms, Ramadan reshapes the day, and families in this corridor travel.

Ramadan is the clearest case. School days shorten, energy patterns change, and many families here prefer sessions after Iftar. Because nothing is being driven anywhere, a change of time costs nothing and can be arranged week by week rather than negotiated once. Fixing those slots at the start of the month is easier than competing for them in the second half of it.

Breaks work the other way and are chronically underused. They are the only stretches with no competing homework, which makes them the natural window for an Extended Essay push, for closing a content gap, or for the first serious run of timed papers. The summer between Year 12 and Year 13 is the single most valuable week-for-week period in the course, and most students spend it recovering from Year 12.

The practical move is to mark the fixed points once at the start of each year: term dates, mock windows, internal and core deadlines, Ramadan, and planned travel. Everything else flexes around them, and the review conversation every few weeks becomes short because the frame already exists.

A short note on travel. Families in this corridor often leave the UAE for several weeks in the summer and for part of a winter break, and a tutoring plan that pretends otherwise produces either wasted fees or an abandoned arrangement. Saying which weeks are gone when the plan is made means the block can be sized to the weeks that actually exist.

06

Retakes, the November session and what it costs in time

  • UAE schools sit the May session; a retake means the following session
  • Confirm all IB dates through the school's Diploma coordinator
  • Enquiry upon results is a separate route with short, school-administered windows
  • Retake preparation is narrow: failed components plus the technique loss

A Diploma result that falls short is not the end of the route, and the options are worth understanding before results day rather than during it. The IB runs two sessions a year and UAE schools sit the May one, so a retake generally means the following session, with the specific dates confirmed through the school's coordinator rather than from any tutoring page.

The cost is mostly in time and sequencing. A retake means preparing one or two subjects while starting something else, often a foundation year or a deferred university place, and it means the new grade arrives well into the following academic year. Any institution holding a place needs to know that timing in advance, and that conversation belongs with them and with the school before an entry is lodged.

There is also an enquiry-upon-results route, which is separate from a retake and has its own deadlines set by the IB and administered through the school. Where a student's performance in a component looks inconsistent with everything else, that route is worth asking the coordinator about promptly, because its windows are short.

The preparation for a retake is narrow rather than general. The content has been taught, the real paper has been sat, and the specific losses are known. Six to eight focused weeks on the failed components plus the technique that lost marks across the paper is almost always a better plan than restarting a subject, and it costs less.

07

What tuition costs at each phase of the course

Because the three phases are different products, the sensible spend differs across them, and thinking about it that way usually reduces the total. Year 12 wants a modest weekly hour over a long period. The autumn of Year 13 wants a short intense block before mocks. The final stretch wants two sessions a week for eight to twelve weeks. A single weekly hour running for twenty-four months costs more than all three and delivers less.

The bands are published. A qualified subject tutor working online in Dubai sits at roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, with Unitors publishing IB from AED 200 and IGCSE from AED 150. Subject specialists run AED 200 to 450 and above, with TutorChase publishing AED 270 and Bestimate's Dubai cost table giving AED 200 to 450 or more. Premium examiner-led provision reaches AED 500 to 650, with BartyED publishing AED 650.

The cheaper tier exists and has a use. Budget online and university-student tutors advertise from around AED 45 to 150, with EdFlik publishing AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya AED 33 to 52, which can be reasonable value for routine practice with an organised student. In-home visits are quoted at roughly AED 180 to 500 with travel inside the price, Bestimate at AED 180 to 350 and home tutors at AED 200 to 500.

Monthly, Bestimate's estimates for a weekly hour run AED 240 to 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to 1,200 in the middle and AED 1,000 to 2,000 or more for specialist exam-year support. For household context, KHDA confirmed in May 2026 that private school fees in Dubai would not rise for 2026-27. All of these are market figures with their sources named, not IB Gram prices.

Honesty, permits and the questions that save a term

  • What phase are we in, and what follows from that?
  • Which internal and core deadlines fall in the next ten weeks?
  • What will you refuse to do with a draft?
  • Do you hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit?
  • IB Gram holds no KHDA permit, no ADEK registration and no board affiliation

Assessed work must be the student's own, authenticated by the teacher. A tutor teaches the subject, explains what criteria reward, interrogates a research question, critiques a method and marks a draft the student wrote. A tutor does not draft, rewrite, edit to completion, supply text, or provide data the student did not collect. One provider in this market sells completed internal assessments; refusing that offer is simple, and it is worth explaining to the student why, because the offer reaches them too.

Board material has its own rule. IB, Cambridge and Pearson syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes and grade-boundary tables belong to their publishers, so sessions reference and link to the official pages rather than circulating copies. Nobody holds unreleased material, whatever is implied about examiner connections.

On the legal side, an individual giving private lessons in the UAE needs the MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years. It covers registered school teachers, government and private sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18, and MoHRE's service listing shows no fee and a two-working-day completion time. Tutoring without it attracts fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule is published.

Three questions save a term. What phase of the course do you think we are in, and why. Which internal and core deadlines fall in the next ten weeks. And what will you refuse to do with a draft. A provider who answers the first two by asking for the school's calendar is doing the right thing.

Where we tutor

Nearby areas we cover around Remraam

Diploma students from these communities share schools and therefore share mock windows and internal deadlines, which is useful to know when comparing notes.

Mudon

Across Al Qudra Road, villas rather than apartments, with no school inside the community and a longer run to every Diploma destination.

Arabian Ranches 3

A young population, so most enquiries here concern subject choice for Year 12 rather than rescue work in Year 13.

Dubai Investment Park

Adjacent along the same corridor and the base for a share of the tutors advertising to Remraam, mostly working at IGCSE level.

Dubai Sports City

GEMS United School and Victory Heights Primary, with stadium-district traffic that makes a fixed arrival window unrealistic between four and six.

Dubai Hills Estate

GEMS International School Al Khail and Kings' School Dubai Hills, one of the two main Diploma destinations from this community.

The Sustainable City

Fairgreen International School runs the full continuum, which means its internal core calendar differs from the schools Remraam students join at sixteen.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Ask the school for its internal calendar

Coursework draft dates, final submission dates, core deadlines and mock windows are set by the school and differ between the Dubai schools Remraam students attend. Having that calendar in writing is the single most useful thing a Diploma family can hold.

  2. 02

Say which phase you are in

First Year 12 report, autumn of Year 13 before mocks, or final stretch. Those three are different products and the message should name which. If you are unsure, say what the last piece of marked work was and when the next deadline falls.

  3. 03

Attach one marked script or draft

A marked paper, a returned internal assessment draft or a mock script lets the first session work rather than introduce itself. It also lets a tutor say honestly whether less help is needed than you feared, which happens more often than families expect.

  4. 04

Free trial lesson, then a block with an end date

A trial over live video at no cost and before payment. What follows should be a block with a defined length and purpose rather than an open weekly commitment, because the right amount of help changes sharply between phases of the course.

  5. 05

    Review at the phase boundaries

The natural review points are the end of Year 12, the end of the autumn term in Year 13, and six weeks out from the session. At each the plan should change shape, not just continue. Session notes record the named error patterns and which have closed.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The phase decides the product

Year 12 ceiling work, autumn predicted-grade work and final-stretch execution are three different jobs. Buying the same weekly hour for two years costs more than all three and delivers the benefit of about eight months of it.

The core is mapped before it collides

Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS deadlines are set internally and differ by school, which is why they surprise families. Putting them on one page at the start of Year 12 removes most of the distress the core causes in this corridor.

The autumn mock is treated as what it is

Predicted grades come from that mock and a university application travels on them. Four or five timed papers beforehand is a small intervention that stops a capable student under-representing themselves at exactly the wrong moment.

Blocks have end dates

Every arrangement proposed here has a length and a purpose, and we will say when a block should stop. An indefinite weekly hour is easier to sell and worse value, particularly in the quieter stretches of Year 12.

Scheduling absorbs a long school run

Remraam Diploma students travel further than its IGCSE students. Because nothing is being driven to Al Thamam or Al Ramth, a session starts when the student sits down and can shift within the evening or after Iftar at no cost.

IB dates are not invented

No IB session or results date appears on this page, because the IB's own site through the school's coordinator is the only reliable source. Pages that restate those dates for search traffic are wrong within a year and parents act on them.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Remraam: your questions answered

Is a tutor near Remraam better than one on a screen for a Diploma student?+

For a Diploma the screen usually wins, because the binding constraint is subject and phase expertise rather than presence. Selecting by distance from Al Ramth narrows the field to tutors based around Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Sports City and Motor City, most of whom work at IGCSE level with Diploma work as an extension. Selecting by subject and level removes that limit. It also removes the arrival window, which matters when a student travels back from Dubai Hills or Al Barsha South each afternoon.

We are in Year 12 and the first report was poor. How urgent is it?+

Less urgent than it feels and more valuable than help bought later. In Year 12 almost every lever is still available: internal assessment topics are being chosen, the Extended Essay question is open, subject levels can sometimes still change, and fluency and notation can be rebuilt without pressure. A weekly hour now buys ceiling. The same money in Year 13 buys execution only, because content genuinely absent will not become secure enough to use. Starting now usually means buying fewer total hours.

What should a Year 13 family expect tutoring to change?+

Technique, timing and marked-script repair, which together still move marks substantially. What it will not change is content that was never learned, because anything acquired in the last weeks is not secure enough to deploy under pressure. An honest plan at this stage names the two or three topics with the heaviest recoverable loss, drills answer construction and command-term discipline, rehearses pacing and question order, and deliberately writes off low-density topics. Anyone promising more than that in eleven weeks is selling.

Why does the autumn mock in Year 13 matter so much?+

Because predicted grades are produced from the evidence the school holds, and in the autumn of the final year that means mock performance and coursework. A university application in most systems travels on those predictions. A student who sits that mock having never worked under timed conditions produces a score that understates them, and the score follows them into the application. Four or five timed papers in the preceding weeks is a small, cheap intervention with a disproportionate effect on the rest of the year.

When should the Extended Essay question be settled?+

In the second term of Year 12, before it is approved. The research question sets the ceiling: most weak Extended Essays are competently written and answer something that cannot be answered in 4,000 words with the sources actually available. One session interrogating the question at that point is worth more than ten spent improving prose in Year 13. It also changes the autumn of the final year completely, because a student arriving at that term with the essay substantially done has room for everything else.

How do we stop the core colliding with everything else?+

Ask the school for its own internal calendar in writing during the first weeks of Year 12. Extended Essay milestones, Theory of Knowledge deadlines, CAS expectations, coursework draft dates and mock windows are set internally and differ between schools, so no general guide can supply them. Put them on one page with the subject deadlines and planned family travel. The distress the core causes in this corridor is almost entirely scheduling rather than difficulty, and scheduling responds to a page of dates.

Is the Theory of Knowledge essay worth paying for help with?+

One or two sessions at the right moment, yes. The common failure is answering a prescribed title in general terms without areas of knowledge structuring the argument, which caps the essay however fluent the writing. Choosing a title early and thinking about it across months produces better work than writing it in the term it falls due. A tutor can explain the assessment expectations, interrogate the chosen title and mark the student's own draft; the essay itself must be entirely their own work.

How should the summer between Year 12 and Year 13 be used?+

It is the most valuable block in the course week for week and is usually spent recovering. The highest-return uses are an Extended Essay push, since the autumn is otherwise impossible, closing one content gap properly, and the first serious run of timed papers so that the autumn mock is not the student's first encounter with a clock. Three or four sessions in a week is realistic when there is no competing homework, and it costs the same per hour as term time.

What happens if a Diploma result falls short?+

There are two separate routes and both have short windows. An enquiry upon results is administered through the school and is appropriate where a component looks inconsistent with everything else; ask the coordinator immediately rather than waiting. A retake means sitting again at a later session, with dates confirmed through the school rather than from any tutoring page. Preparation for a retake is narrow, since the real paper has been sat and the losses are known, so six to eight focused weeks usually beats restarting a subject.

Will sessions continue through Ramadan for a Diploma student?+

Usually moved rather than paused. School days shorten, energy patterns shift, and many families along this corridor prefer slots after Iftar. Because the lesson arrives over live video and nobody is driving, a change of time costs nothing and can be arranged week by week. Fixing those slots early in the month is easier than competing for them later. Where a family prefers to pause entirely, the slot can be held, and the plan is reviewed against the internal deadlines either way.

Should tutoring run every week for two years?+

No, and we will say so. The sensible shape is a modest weekly hour through Year 12 to build ceiling, a short intense block before the autumn mocks in Year 13, and two sessions a week for eight to twelve weeks in the final stretch. A single hour running for twenty-four months costs more than all three combined and delivers the benefit of about eight months of it. Every block proposed here has a defined length and purpose rather than being open-ended.

How do six mock scripts get used rather than filed?+

By reading them together. Each separates content absence, which shows as untouched questions, from technique loss where the method was right, from timing collapse visible as an abandoned last page, from misreading caused by skipping a command term. Across six subjects the same failure usually appears in several, which makes one fortnight of drilling unusually efficient. A single script hides that pattern and six grades reveal nothing at all. Bring the scripts to a first session rather than a description of the results.

Does the school we moved to change the tutoring plan?+

Considerably, because it sets the scheme of work, the option topics in the sciences, the mock window and every internal deadline. Two Diploma students in Dubai described as taking the same subject can sit different option questions and face coursework deadlines months apart. Naming the school alongside the subject and level in the first message means the tutor works to the right calendar and sets questions from the right option, which is a bigger practical difference than the postcode could ever be.

Can a tutor help with a university application as well?+

Not as an admissions service, and this page makes no claim to perform or guarantee any admissions outcome. What a subject tutor can usefully do is make the autumn mock go better, since predicted grades flow from it, and help a student articulate why they want a subject, which is useful for interviews and personal statements. Entry requirements should be read from each institution's own published entry profile with the school's careers office, because they differ by country and change between cycles.

Start with the school's calendar

Before choosing a tutor, get the school's internal calendar in writing: coursework drafts, final submissions, core deadlines and mock windows. Then say which phase of the Diploma you are in, attach one marked script or draft, and a free trial lesson over live video is arranged before any payment is taken. What comes back will be a block with a length and a purpose rather than an open weekly commitment. Lessons are delivered online on Gulf Standard Time; home visits are a service IB Gram runs in India only.
