IB Tutor near me in Al Warqa

Typing IB tutor near me in Al Warqa returns whoever bought the advertising, sorted roughly by distance. Distance is the one variable that does not predict whether somebody can teach Higher Level Chemistry. This page maps what the eastern Dubai tutor supply actually looks like, prices what proximity adds to an hourly rate, and shows what the same money buys when the radius is removed. Sessions run one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time.

IB & IGCSE in Al Warqa

What a radius search cannot tell you about an IB tutor

A near-me search is a request for convenience, and in most categories convenience is a reasonable thing to optimise. A plumber twenty minutes away is better than one an hour away, because the skill is broadly uniform and the travel is the variable cost. Tutoring inverts that. The skill is enormously variable, the travel is dead time somebody pays for, and the thing a parent actually needs is a person who has taught the specific syllabus at the specific level and knows exactly where the marks go.

Al Warqa makes the inversion obvious. The community sits in eastern Dubai, with its school supply spread across Al Qusais, Mirdif, Festival City and Academic City, and most of that supply is CBSE or British rather than IB. So the pool of people living within a short drive who can teach Diploma Higher Level content is genuinely small. A radius search in this postcode is not filtering a large set down to the convenient ones. It is showing you almost everyone available and calling it a shortlist.

The cost side is just as concrete. Published Dubai rates put online qualified tutors at roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour and in-home visits at AED 180 to 500, with Bestimate's table showing 180 to 350 and independent home tutors quoting 200 to 500. That gap is a commute charge. Converted into the only unit that matters, AED 1,000 buys between three and seven teaching hours online and between two and five and a half once somebody has to drive to Al Warqa'a 3 and back at six in the evening.

IB Gram's position needs stating before any of this reads as a sales argument. We do not send tutors to homes in the UAE. That is an India-only service, and it is stated on every country page on this site. Al Warqa lessons are one-to-one over live video, timed to Gulf Standard Time. We are not claiming that a screen beats a kitchen table for every child. We are claiming that for a Diploma subject in this particular part of Dubai, the realistic alternative to a specialist online is a generalist nearby, and that the specialist is the better purchase.

What follows is therefore built around supply rather than around us. A map of what the eastern Dubai tutor pool actually contains. The premium proximity adds, in dirhams and in hours. An honest account of which subjects are well covered and which take a week to staff or get declined. The regulator map for all seven emirates, because families here move between them more often than anyone plans for. And a worked calculation a household can check against its own budget, with real figures rather than a range so wide it cannot be argued with.

At a glance

  • Online qualified subject tutor: roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour
  • In-home one-to-one across Dubai: roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour, travel included
  • AED 1,000 buys 3 to 7 online teaching hours, or 2 to 5.5 in-home
  • Most school supply near Al Warqa is CBSE or British, not IB
  • Dubai is regulated by KHDA; Abu Dhabi by ADEK; Sharjah by SPEA
  • A free trial lesson comes before any quote, with no fixed term afterwards
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Al Warqa families reach the IB through schools in Mirdif, Festival City and Academic City. These notes cover what each programme demands and what a near-me search typically gets wrong about it.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects with three normally at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. External papers sat in the May session carry most of each grade, with internal assessment contributing a published share. Higher Level adds syllabus content and, in several subjects, an additional paper, so a tutor competent at Standard Level is not automatically competent at Higher.

This is where the proximity problem bites hardest for Al Warqa. Diploma Higher Level teaching is a narrow specialism, the nearest Diploma schools are a twenty-five minute drive away in Festival City or Mirdif, and the number of people living within ten minutes of Al Warqa'a 4 who can teach Higher Level Physics well is not a number worth filtering on.

MYPAges 11-16 · MYP 1 to MYP 5

Middle Years Programme

Eight subject groups across five years, each marked against four criteria scored 0 to 8 and converted to a 1 to 7 grade. There is no external examination, which means that general revision changes very little: marks move when the weak criterion is identified and practised specifically.

MYP tutors are easier to find locally than Diploma specialists, because the content sits closer to general secondary teaching. The criterion descriptors are the specialism, and a nearby tutor who has never read them will produce pleasant sessions and a flat report. Ask which lettered criterion they are targeting before anything else.

PYPAges 3-12 · FS1 to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

Transdisciplinary units of inquiry with no criterion marks and no examinations, reported against learner-profile attributes. The narrow, useful targets at this stage are number fluency, reading stamina and early written structure. Everything broader is supervision, and should cost what supervision costs.

This is the one stage where a near-me search is reasonable, because what a young child needs is consistency and somebody present, and that is a service proximity genuinely improves. For families who still prefer online, short sessions with a fixed routine work better than long ones.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

Diploma courses combined with a career-related study, a reflective project and a personal and professional skills course, assessed through a mix of DP external papers and course-specific coursework. It is a legitimate IB route for a student who wants depth in two or three subjects alongside an applied qualification.

Offered by a small number of Dubai schools. It belongs on this page because a student struggling with six Diploma subjects has options other than more tutoring, and any adviser who never mentions them is selling hours rather than advising.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Coverage differs sharply by subject, and that is the real constraint rather than distance. Each note says what the subject assesses and how easily it can be staffed for an Al Warqa student.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Algebra, calculus and proof, with a third paper at Higher Level and the exploration as internal assessment. Well covered: this is the most requested Diploma subject in the UAE, so a match is usually available within days at any level.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Modelling, statistics and technology-led problem solving. Reasonably covered, though fewer tutors are confident at Higher Level, where the statistical content and the modelling paper demand genuinely different preparation from Analysis and Approaches.

Physics

HL and SL

Mechanics, fields and the scientific investigation, with uncertainties and graph work as the predictable mark losses. Higher Level coverage is good but not deep; a Higher Level match sometimes takes a few days longer than Standard Level.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Organic mechanisms, energetics and equilibrium, plus data-based questions that reward careful reading. Among the best-covered sciences, and one where a specialist genuinely outperforms a generalist because the common failure points are narrow and well known.

Biology

HL and SL

Terminology volume conceals an application problem: students who can recite a process often cannot answer it in an unfamiliar organism. Well covered, with past-paper discipline and command-term work doing most of the useful lifting.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagram accuracy and evaluation carry the grade, with commentaries as internal assessment. Coverage is moderate; Higher Level quantitative content and the policy paper narrow the pool more than parents expect.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Textual analysis under time pressure, the individual oral and the Higher Level essay. Well covered. The common fault is summarising content rather than analysing technique, which responds quickly to targeted work.

Business Management

HL and SL

Frameworks are easy to learn and hard to apply to case material. Moderately covered, with the internal assessment research question as the usual place marks are quietly lost before anyone notices.

Psychology

HL and SL

Critical evaluation of methodology, ethics and generalisability separates grades, and the internal assessment demands correct statistical reporting. Coverage is thinner than the sciences, so a match can take about a week.

Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay

Core, all Diploma students

Argument structure, scoping and reflective writing. Support here is teaching and feedback on the student's own drafts only. Coverage is reasonable, but quality varies more than in any subject, so ask directly what the tutor will refuse to do.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways to buy, with the trade-off in each stated. All are one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, and none sends anybody to an Al Warqa address.

Matched by subject and level

The default: you name the subject, the level and the weakness, and the match is made from everyone available at your hour rather than everyone within a radius. This is the arrangement that makes a near-me search unnecessary, and the one that puts a Higher Level specialist in front of a student whose nearest Diploma school is a long drive away.

  • Matched on subject, level and the specific weakness in the work
  • Slot fixed around the real Al Warqa school run, usually 17:15 or later
  • Same tutor each week, not a rota
  • Changed without penalty if the match is wrong

Matched by availability window

For households where the constraint is the clock rather than the subject: two children, three activities and one usable hour. You give the window, we tell you which specialists are genuinely free inside it, and you choose. It is a smaller list, honestly presented, rather than a long list with waiting lists hidden inside it.

  • You set the window; we show real availability inside it
  • Useful for siblings on different school timetables
  • Shifts for Ramadan and travel without renegotiation
  • No pretence that every subject is free at every hour

A finite diagnostic block

Three to five sessions to establish what is actually wrong before committing to anything longer. It suits families who have been told a grade is a problem but have no idea whether the cause is content, technique or workload, and it is considerably cheaper than discovering the answer across a term of weekly hours.

  • Starts from two marked pieces of work, not a conversation
  • Ends with a named weakness and an estimate in weeks
  • No rolling commitment attached to it
  • Can conclude that tutoring is not what is needed

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Al Warqa

01

What a near-me search returns in Al Warqa, and what it hides

  • Map results rank on advertising and distance, not on subject or level
  • Permit status is invisible in a listing and free to verify by asking
  • A teacher at your child's own school cannot be paid to tutor them
  • Listings do not show whether somebody is already fully booked

Search results for a tutor near Al Warqa are assembled from advertising spend, business listings and approximate distance. None of those three correlate with teaching a named Diploma subject at a named level. What the result set hides is the thing that determines whether the money works: whether this person has taught Higher Level Chemistry to a candidate who was losing marks on energetics, and knows what that specific failure looks like on a script.

Three further things are invisible in a map result. The first is permit status, which is a genuine compliance question in the UAE and has a free, two-working-day answer. The second is whether the tutor is barred from teaching your child at all: a teacher at your child's own school cannot be paid to tutor them, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school. The third is availability, because a listing does not go grey when the person is fully booked.

The honest reframing is to stop asking who is near and start asking who is free and qualified at the hour your child can actually work. In Al Warqa that hour is typically 17:15 or later on a weekday, because the school run reaches Mirdif, Festival City or Academic City and the return leg is unpredictable. Fix the hour, name the subject and level, and the radius stops being a useful filter at all. What remains is a short, true list, which is less satisfying to look at than a map full of pins and considerably more use.

02

The eastern Dubai tutor supply map, honestly drawn

Supply in this part of Dubai follows the schools, and the schools around Al Warqa are mostly CBSE and British. That produces a resident teaching population strong in those curricula and thin in IB Diploma specialisms. It is not a criticism of anybody: a CBSE physics teacher with fifteen years of experience is a genuinely good teacher and the wrong purchase for a Higher Level internal assessment on uncertainty propagation.

The nearest concentration of IB teaching is Mirdif, around Uptown International School, and Festival City, around Deira International School and Universal American School. Both are fifteen to twenty-five minutes from the middle of Al Warqa at pickup time and considerably more at the hour a tutor would travel. And teachers at those schools are precisely the people who cannot tutor the students most likely to live nearby, because of the rule against tutoring one's own enrolled students.

Academic City and Silicon Oasis add a different kind of supply: university students and technical graduates, who are explicitly eligible for the MoHRE private tuition permit and who dominate the AED 33 to 65 band where Tutopiya and EdFlik advertise. That tier is useful for routine work and poorly suited to Higher Level teaching. Which leaves a plain conclusion for a Diploma family in Al Warqa: the specialist you need almost certainly does not live near you, and the question is only whether you accept that or pay somebody to drive. Both are defensible answers, and only one of them is usually presented to a parent as a choice.

03

The proximity premium, in dirhams and in teaching hours

Price the drive rather than arguing about it. Market in-home rates in Dubai run AED 180 to 500 an hour, with Bestimate's table at 180 to 350 and independent home tutors quoting 200 to 500, against AED 150 to 300 for a qualified subject tutor working online. The difference is roughly AED 100 to 200 an hour, and in Al Warqa it covers a round trip of eighty to a hundred and twenty minutes from central Dubai.

Converted into teaching, the comparison gets uncomfortable. A household with AED 2,400 a month gets eight to sixteen hours online and four to thirteen in-home. Over a two-year Diploma that difference is not a nicety, it is a whole second subject. And the premium buys something with a negative side effect: a tutor making a long round trip accepts fewer slots, so the arrangement is more fragile and collapses the first time Ras Al Khor Road does.

None of this makes in-home tutoring a bad product. For a young child who will not work without an adult physically present, it is the right product and worth paying for. For a Year 13 working on an internal assessment in Higher Level Chemistry, the premium buys a commute and costs a specialist. IB Gram does not sell home visits in the UAE at all, so this comparison is published as market information rather than as a choice we are offering. The figures come from published Dubai rate cards read in October 2026, and any household can check them against two or three quotes of its own in an afternoon.

04

Buying availability instead of distance

If distance is the wrong filter, availability is the right one, and the uncomfortable part of saying so is that availability has limits. No platform covers every subject at every level at every hour, and the ones that imply otherwise are the ones that match a Business Management student to a general economics tutor and hope nobody checks. Publishing the thin spots is the only version of this that is useful to a parent.

For Al Warqa Diploma enquiries the pattern is stable. Mathematics in both routes, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English A are well covered and normally matched within a few days at Standard Level and a little longer at Higher. Economics, Business Management and Psychology sit in the middle, usually about a week. Less commonly taken subjects and some language options are genuinely thin, and the right answer there is sometimes a decline rather than a match.

Where a near alternative is useful, it is offered as an alternative and named as one. A Chemistry specialist can do real work with a Biology student whose problem is data-handling, because the skill transfers; a family should be told that is what is happening rather than discovering it. And where the match is a specialist outside the UAE teaching at Gulf Standard Time, that is disclosed before booking, because nothing about the delivery was ever going to be in-person in this country. A family that would rather wait a fortnight for a UAE-based specialist than start next week with one elsewhere is entitled to make that choice with the facts in front of them.

Which regulator covers your child's school, and why Al Warqa families should care

Private schools in the UAE are regulated emirate by emirate, and families in eastern Dubai move across those borders more often than they expect, usually because of a job in Abu Dhabi or Sharjah. Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in the emirate. Abu Dhabi and Al Ain fall under the Department of Education and Knowledge, which supervises the licensing and accreditation of private schools there. Sharjah has the Sharjah Private Education Authority, which regulates private education in the emirate.

The map completes with Ras Al Khaimah's Department of Knowledge, which also regulates private education in its emirate, and the federal Ministry of Education, which plays a supervisory role for private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. Sharjah's and Ras Al Khaimah's authorities additionally approve tuition fees, curricula, programmes, courses, activities and assessment methods, so in those emirates curriculum and fee approval sit with the regulator rather than only inspection.

Two practical consequences for an Al Warqa household. A school report from Dubai carries a KHDA inspection context that does not transfer directly to an ADEK or SPEA setting, so comparing two schools across emirates means comparing two different frameworks. And none of these authorities accredits, licenses or endorses a tutoring platform: IB Gram holds no permit or approval from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education or any examination board, and anybody who claims one should be asked to produce the number.

A worked calculation for an Al Warqa household

Take a concrete case rather than a range. A family in Al Warqa'a 2 has a Year 12 who is losing marks in Higher Level Chemistry and an MYP 4 sibling whose Sciences criterion B has dropped. The Chemistry student needs a specialist; the MYP student needs somebody who has read the criterion descriptors. The household has roughly AED 2,000 a month available and a usable window between 17:15 and 19:30 on two weeknights.

In-home, at AED 250 to 400 an hour, that budget supports five to eight hours a month across two children, which is one hour each per fortnight, and both children have to fit the same tutor's travel schedule or two premiums get paid. Online, at AED 180 to 280, the same budget supports seven to eleven hours, enough for a weekly hour each with room for an extra session before a mock, and the two children can be taught by two different specialists on the same evening without anyone waiting.

The second part of the calculation is the shape rather than the total. Spending the Chemistry hours on the internal assessment during Year 12, when there is still time to choose scope, is worth more per dirham than the same hours spent on general revision in Year 13. Spending the MYP hours on criterion B specifically, rather than on Sciences broadly, is the difference between a report that moves and one that does not. Neither of those decisions has anything to do with how far away anybody lives.

The four questions a map result cannot answer

  • Ask what they saw in the work, before any quote
  • Ask for the MoHRE permit; it is free and takes two working days
  • Ask what they will refuse to do with assessed coursework
  • Agree the six-week review and the exit before paying

First: what did you see in the marked work? A tutor who answers with a pattern across two papers has done the job of the first session already. One who answers with a list of qualifications has told you nothing about your child. Ask it before any package is quoted, because a provider quoting a monthly figure before seeing the work is selling hours rather than diagnosing a problem.

Second: do you hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit? Introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, granted free of charge for two years, with MoHRE's own service page listing no fee and a two-working-day completion time via its app, website and e-services. Individuals tutoring without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no schedule of amounts is published, so no figure is quoted here. Because the permit is free and fast, there is no reasonable excuse for not holding it.

Third: what will you refuse to do with the internal assessment? The answer should be immediate: no text, no data, no analysis, no editing that changes authorship. A provider who hesitates is offering something that puts an IB registration at risk. Fourth: how do we stop? Six weeks, a review against the school's own marks, then extend, switch or end. An arrangement without a review point becomes a standing order, and that is how a sensible monthly figure turns into a two-year total nobody agreed to.

Where we tutor

The eastern Dubai supply map around Al Warqa

What each neighbouring community actually contains in tutoring terms, rather than what it looks like on a map pin. This is the detail a radius search has no way of showing.

Al Warqa'a 1 to 5

Residential, with no IB school inside the community. Resident tutors skew towards CBSE and British curriculum teaching, which is a genuine specialism and not the one a Diploma candidate needs.

Al Qusais

The densest nearby school cluster and therefore the densest nearby teacher population, again mostly CBSE and British. Short drive, wrong curriculum for most IB enquiries from this postcode.

Mirdif

Uptown International School runs the IB continuum here, so this is where the nearest genuine IB teaching population sits. Still fifteen to twenty-five minutes from Al Warqa'a 4 at pickup time.

Dubai Festival City

Deira International School and Universal American School carry Diploma cohorts. Teachers at these schools are barred from paid tutoring of their own students, so proximity to the school does not translate into availability.

Academic City

Dubai English Speaking College plus several university campuses, which is why budget-tier tutoring supply is relatively strong here. University students are explicitly eligible for the MoHRE private tuition permit.

Al Mizhar and Al Khawaneej

Villa communities east of Al Warqa with very few resident subject specialists at Diploma level. Families here face exactly the same radius problem and reach the same conclusion about it.

Nad Al Hamar

Fast access to Ras Al Khor Road and a thin resident teaching population. Convenient to drive through, not a source of Higher Level subject specialists.

Dubai Silicon Oasis

Strong supply of technical and university-adjacent tutors, weaker on IB-specific experience. Useful for Mathematics support at Standard Level, less so for a Higher Level internal assessment.

The IB schools within reach of Al Warqa

Where Al Warqa IB students actually study. Note that a teacher at one of these schools cannot be paid to tutor their own enrolled students, and the MoHRE permit's code of conduct bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school, so being near an IB school does not widen your options.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Name the subject and the level, not the postcode

Higher Level Chemistry and Standard Level Chemistry are different purchases, and both are different from MYP Sciences. Starting from the subject and level rather than the search radius is what puts a specialist in front of your child instead of whoever advertised nearby.

  2. 02

Send two marked pieces of work

Recent, annotated, from the subject that worries you. They show whether the problem is content, technique or legibility within one session. A description of the worry takes longer and points at the wrong subject more often than parents expect.

  3. 03

    State the usable window honestly

For most Al Warqa addresses that is 17:15 or later on a weeknight, earlier at the Al Qusais end, later for Academic City families. Giving the real window produces a shorter, truer list than asking who is available in general.

  4. 04

Take the free trial and test the diagnosis

By the end you should have a named weakness, the reason marks are lost there, and an estimate in weeks. If what arrives instead is a monthly figure and enthusiasm, change the match. The trial is the only cheap test of a tutor there is.

  5. 05

Review at six weeks against the school's data

Not against the tutor's impression. Then extend, change subject, or stop. Where the diagnosis said four sessions and ten have passed, the diagnosis was wrong, which is worth knowing and cheap to act on.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Matched on subject and level, not on distance

Proximity does not predict whether someone can teach Higher Level Chemistry, and in eastern Dubai the resident pool is weighted towards other curricula entirely. We match from everyone free at your hour rather than everyone inside a radius.

The commute premium shown as hours, not adjectives

In-home rates in Dubai run AED 180 to 500 against AED 150 to 300 online. On a AED 2,400 monthly budget that is roughly three teaching hours a month, which across a two-year Diploma is a whole second subject.

Coverage limits published, including the thin ones

Mathematics, the sciences and English A are well covered. Economics, Business Management and Psychology take about a week. Some subjects get declined. No competitor page researched for this project discloses a coverage limit at all.

The regulator map, with its source

KHDA for Dubai, ADEK for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, SPEA for Sharjah, the Department of Knowledge for Ras Al Khaimah, and the Ministry of Education for Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, taken from the u.ae private-schools page.

Online one-to-one, disclosed before booking

Al Warqa sessions run one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time. IB Gram does not provide home visits in the UAE; that is an India-only service, stated on every country page on this site.

No approval claimed, no grade promised

IB Gram holds no KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, Ministry of Education, IB, Cambridge or Pearson approval and claims none. Nothing on this site promises a score, a grade improvement or a refund tied to a result.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Warqa: your questions answered

Is there an IB tutor near me in Al Warqa who teaches Higher Level subjects?+

Within a short drive, probably not in most Higher Level subjects. The schools immediately around Al Warqa and Al Qusais are largely CBSE and British, so the resident teaching population is strong in those curricula and thin in IB Diploma specialisms. The nearest concentration of IB teaching is Mirdif and Festival City, fifteen to thirty minutes away, and teachers at those schools cannot be paid to tutor their own enrolled students. Matching by subject and level over live video reaches a far deeper pool than any radius around this postcode.

Does distance actually matter when choosing an IB tutor?+

It matters for a young child who needs an adult physically present to work at all. For a Diploma subject it mostly matters as a cost: in-home rates in Dubai run AED 180 to 500 an hour against AED 150 to 300 online, and that gap covers an eighty to one hundred and twenty minute round trip to Al Warqa from central Dubai. The gap also shrinks the pool to tutors willing to make the journey, and willingness to drive does not predict knowing where Higher Level Chemistry candidates lose marks.

What does the commute premium cost an Al Warqa family over two years?+

On a budget of AED 2,400 a month, online at AED 150 to 300 an hour buys eight to sixteen teaching hours while in-home at AED 180 to 500 buys four to thirteen. The difference is roughly three hours a month. Across a two-year Diploma that is somewhere near seventy hours, which is a whole additional subject of weekly support. Whether that trade is worth making depends on the child, but it should be made with the arithmetic visible rather than by default.

Can my child's own teacher tutor them privately in Dubai?+

No, and this is a point families regularly get wrong. A teacher cannot be paid to provide private tutoring to students enrolled at their own school, and the MoHRE private tuition work permit carries a code of conduct that bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school. In Abu Dhabi, ADEK's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff are reported to prohibit it explicitly. Verify current wording against the authority's own policy document, and never arrange it regardless of who suggests it.

Which subjects can you actually cover for an Al Warqa IB student?+

Mathematics in both routes, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English A: Language and Literature are well covered and usually matched within a few days at Standard Level, a little longer at Higher. Economics, Business Management and Psychology sit in the middle at roughly a week. Less commonly taken subjects and several language options are genuinely thin and are sometimes declined. Where a near-subject specialist would genuinely help, it is offered as an alternative and named as one rather than quietly substituted.

Who regulates my child's school if we move from Dubai to Abu Dhabi?+

The Department of Education and Knowledge, which supervises the licensing and accreditation of private schools in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Dubai's authority is KHDA, which oversees the quality of private education in the emirate. Sharjah has the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Ras Al Khaimah the Department of Knowledge, and the Ministry of Education supervises private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. Comparing schools across emirates means comparing two different inspection frameworks, not two scores on one scale.

What time does a weekday session realistically start for Al Warqa families?+

Al Warqa'a 1 households with short runs to Al Qusais schools can usually hold 16:30. Al Warqa'a 2 and 3, running to Mirdif or Festival City, should plan for 17:15 or 17:30. Al Warqa'a 4 and 5 families driving to Academic City often need 17:45. Fixing the window before choosing the tutor matters more than it sounds, because the commonest way a good match fails is not a bad tutor but a slot that never worked on an ordinary Tuesday.

Why do near-me tutoring results change every time I search?+

Because the ranking is assembled from advertising spend, business listings and approximate distance, none of which is stable and none of which describes teaching quality. A listing also does not grey out when the person is fully booked, so a result that looks available may not be. The four things that actually decide whether the money works, subject experience at the right level, permit status, genuine availability at your hour, and what they refuse to do with coursework, are all invisible in the result.

Is a budget online tutor good enough for IB Standard Level?+

Sometimes, and it depends what the problem is. The AED 33 to 65 band, where Tutopiya and EdFlik advertise, buys supervision and question-answering from a university student or recent graduate, and that genuinely helps a student whose issue is sitting down and finishing the work. It does not diagnose why marks are lost against a mark scheme. Where the weakness is technique or internal assessment method, the AED 150 to 300 band is the honest minimum, and paying less is paying for the wrong thing.

Do you have an office in Al Warqa or anywhere in Dubai we can visit?+

No. IB Gram operates no premises in the UAE and does not claim to. A tutoring operation with premises and staff in Dubai needs a KHDA educational services permit for a training institute, with initial approval first and annual renewal requested at least thirty days before expiry; we do not hold one because we do not run premises here. Two competitor pages researched for this project show a UAE footer address on a page for a different emirate, which is a misrepresentation worth noticing.

How quickly can an Al Warqa family get started?+

For the well-covered subjects, a free trial lesson is usually arranged within a few days once the subject, level and usable window are known. For subjects in the middle band expect about a week. For the thin ones you get a date rather than a reassurance, and occasionally a decline. Nothing here is instant because the matching is done on subject and level rather than by handing you the first available person, and that distinction is the whole point of the arrangement.

Should we pay a premium rate for an examiner for an Al Warqa student?+

Be careful with the claim rather than the price. Premium bands in Dubai reach AED 500 to 650 and above, with BartyED publishing AED 650. Examiner status is only meaningful if it is current and evidenced, and it never implies access to marking, boundaries or paper content. For most Diploma problems, a qualified subject tutor at AED 150 to 300 who can read a mark scheme properly achieves the same thing. Reserve the top of the market for one subject in a short final block, if at all.

Can one tutor handle both our children if they study different programmes?+

Usually not well, and it is worth resisting. An MYP 4 student needing criterion B in Sciences and a Year 12 needing Higher Level Chemistry are two different specialisms, and the second is narrow. Online, the two can be taught by two different specialists on the same evening from the same house with nobody waiting. With a visiting tutor you either compromise on one child or pay two travel premiums, which is a poor use of the same monthly figure.

What happens if the tutor we are matched with turns out to be wrong for our child?+

You change the match, without penalty, and sooner rather than later. The free trial exists precisely to surface a mismatch before money moves, and the six-week review exists to catch the slower kind, where the sessions are pleasant and the marks do not move. A provider who makes changing difficult has aligned its incentives against yours. There is no fixed term here, which is the only arrangement under which a review point means anything at all.

Give us the subject, the level and the hour that actually works

Skip the radius. Tell us the subject and level, send two recently marked pieces of work, and say which hour genuinely survives the Al Warqa school run. We will match from everyone qualified and free at that time, tell you honestly if the subject is thin, and give you a free trial lesson that ends with a named weakness and an estimate in weeks. Lessons are one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time. Nothing is promised about a grade, and nobody is sent to a UAE address because we do not offer that here.
