Cambridge IGCSE Hindi 0549 Online Tutor in Dubai

Almost nobody in this market publishes a price. A Cambridge IGCSE Hindi 0549 online tutor in Dubai can be quoted at AED 45 an hour or AED 450, and a parent is given no way to tell which number is reasonable. This page publishes the bands with the provider attached to each one, explains the six things that move the figure in this emirate, and sets the cost against a Dubai household's other education spending.

  • Every AED figure attributed to the provider or rate table that published it
  • Six named variables that move a Hindi quote up or down in Dubai
  • No IB Gram price list disguised as a market rate
  • No fine amount quoted for permit breaches, because none is published

Why a Hindi tuition quote in Dubai can vary by a factor of ten

Of the competitor pages researched for this market, three publish no price at all, and two of those that do quote in US dollars, which is not a currency UAE families transact in. One agency's own frequently asked questions asks what tutoring costs and then declines to answer. The result is that a Dubai parent comparing two Hindi tutors has a quote of AED 60 and a quote of AED 400 in front of them and no framework for deciding which is the serious one.

The spread is real and it is mostly explainable. At the bottom of the Dubai market sit university students and overseas conversation tutors, advertised from the low AED 30s upwards. In the middle sit qualified subject teachers working online, published from around AED 150. At the top sit specialists in a named syllabus, quoted from roughly AED 200 to 450 and above, with premium named tutors quoted higher still. For Hindi specifically, the band a family needs depends almost entirely on one question: does the quote include somebody reading and marking handwritten Devanagari.

That is the hinge, and it is why Hindi pricing behaves differently from Mathematics pricing in this emirate. Spoken Hindi is abundant in Dubai, so conversation practice is cheap and easy to buy. Accurate marking of written Hindi against a Cambridge mark scheme is scarce, and scarcity sets the price. A family paying AED 60 an hour is usually buying the abundant thing, and a family whose child is losing marks on matra placement and formal register needs the scarce one.

The second thing that moves the number in Dubai is the travel line. In-home visits are quoted at roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour because the journey is inside the fee, and in the peripheral communities the quote sits at the top of that range for no reason connected to teaching quality. Removing the journey removes that component from the price, which is the main reason an online quote and an in-home quote for the same tutor are not comparable numbers.

Context matters as well as rate. KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there would be no increase in private school fees in Dubai for the 2026-27 academic year, under the emirate's second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion within a total of AED 2.5 billion. School fees are therefore the fixed line in a Dubai household's education budget this year and tuition is the variable one, which makes the tuition decision more consequential than it has been for several years.

What follows is the whole cost picture: the bands with their sources, the six variables that move a Hindi quote in this emirate, the provider models compared without naming competitors as better or worse, why the cheapest hour is often the most expensive, the two-year cost in context, what to ask about VAT and invoices, what should cost nothing at all, and the order in which a limited budget should be spent on a 0549 candidate.

At a glance

  • Published Dubai bands run from about AED 45 to AED 650 an hour
  • For Hindi, the price hinge is whether written Devanagari is marked
  • In-home quotes carry travel; online quotes generally do not
  • Lessons here are online one to one; IB Gram runs no UAE home visits
  • Figures are attributed to their source and are market rates, not our price list
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

The same subject costs different amounts at different stages, and for defensible reasons. These are the four Hindi stages a Dubai family might be buying for, with what moves the price at each.

LSAges 11-14

Lower Secondary Hindi, Years 7 to 9

The cheapest stage to buy and the most cost-effective, because handwriting habits are still forming and nothing is being rescued. Market rates at this level sit towards the budget and mid bands, since the work does not require syllabus specialism — it requires somebody who marks Devanagari and insists on a rewrite.

In Dubai this is the stage families skip, because no examination is attached and the school reports look acceptable on the strength of spoken participation. A household that spends modestly here usually spends far less in Year 11, which is the only genuine saving available in this subject and almost nobody takes it.

0549Ages 14-16 · Years 10-11

Cambridge IGCSE Hindi 0549

The stage where syllabus specialism starts to matter and therefore where the rate rises. A tutor needs to know the component structure, the question formats and what the mark scheme rewards in a written response, which is a narrower skill than fluency and is priced accordingly in the mid to specialist bands.

Within this stage the Dubai price difference between Year 10 and Year 11 is driven by urgency rather than content. Exam-year demand concentrates between January and April, slots become scarce, and a family booking in February is competing for the same specialist hours as every other household in the emirate.

CBSEAges 13-16

CBSE Hindi, Classes 9 and 10

The parallel Indian-curriculum route, and the cheapest Hindi tuition widely available in Dubai because the supply of CBSE-trained Hindi teachers here is large. Useful to know as a price anchor, and important not to buy by mistake: the conventions, formats and expected answers differ from a Cambridge entry.

With Indian-curriculum schools at 26 per cent of Dubai private enrolment in the 2024-25 figures, CBSE Hindi tuition is widely advertised at the lower end of the market. A Cambridge candidate taught by a CBSE-trained tutor who has not read the 0549 syllabus is the most common way a Dubai family wastes money in this subject.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

IB Diploma Hindi, Language B

The most expensive Hindi tuition in the Dubai market, for supply reasons rather than difficulty. Diploma-specific language tutors are scarce, the course carries an individual oral and, at Higher Level, literary works, and published IB rates generally sit above IGCSE rates with Unitors listing IB from AED 200 against IGCSE from AED 150.

Dubai's IB cohort was around seven per cent of private-school enrolment in 2024-25, which is a substantial absolute number in a market of 387,441 students but a small specialist pool. Families planning this route should expect the step up in rate at 16 and budget for it in Year 11 rather than discovering it in September.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Not all subjects cost the same per hour in Dubai, and the reason is supply rather than difficulty. These are the Cambridge entries families most often price alongside Hindi, with what drives each one's market rate.

Hindi as a Second Language (0549)

Untiered

Spoken Hindi is abundant in Dubai and accurate marking of written Devanagari is not, so the rate depends almost entirely on which of the two a quote includes. Conversation practice is cheap; scheme-based marking of handwritten work sits in the mid to specialist bands.

Mathematics (0580)

Core and Extended tiers

The deepest tutor supply in this market, which keeps rates competitive at every level. Families reliably over-allocate budget here because it feels urgent, and under-allocate to a language where the marks are often easier to recover.

Additional Mathematics (0606)

Untiered

A thinner specialist pool than 0580 and a correspondingly higher market rate. A useful illustration of the supply effect: the subject is not ten times harder than a language, but the number of people who can teach it well in Dubai is far smaller.

Physics (0625)

Core and Extended tiers

Mid to upper bands, with practical and data skills pushing quotes higher in the exam year. Science demand peaks at the same time as language demand, which is part of why February slots in any subject cost more than October ones.

Chemistry (0620)

Core and Extended tiers

Similar pricing dynamics to Physics, with the added factor that organic chemistry support is often sold as a separate specialism. Worth asking whether a quote covers the whole syllabus or the part the student is currently failing.

Biology (0610)

Core and Extended tiers

Generally the most affordable of the three sciences in this market because the tutor pool is broader. For a household rationing spend across subjects, this is frequently the one that can be managed with past papers and a marking arrangement rather than weekly teaching.

Computer Science (0478)

Untiered

A scarce specialism in Dubai and priced near the top of the IGCSE range as a result. Another case where the rate reflects who is available rather than how demanding the subject is, which is the single most useful idea for a parent comparing quotes.

Business Studies (0450)

Untiered

Broad supply and competitive rates. Command-term discipline transfers to Hindi extended writing, so a household already paying for Business tuition can sometimes get part of the language benefit without paying twice.

French (0520)

Untiered

A European language with a smaller Dubai tutor pool than Hindi and typically a higher rate. Useful comparison when judging whether a Hindi quote is reasonable: the scarcer language usually costs more, regardless of which is objectively harder.

Arabic as a Foreign Language (0544)

Untiered

Wide supply across the emirate and competitive pricing, though a quote should make clear whether it covers the Cambridge entry or the separate KHDA mandatory provision, which are different things that get sold under the same word.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways to buy, priced differently because they contain different amounts of marking. The cheapest per hour is not the cheapest per mark recovered, which is the comparison that matters.

Marking-only arrangement

No teaching session at all. The student writes, submits, and receives the piece back annotated against the scheme with the error category named. Priced per piece rather than per hour, which suits a household whose child is well taught at school and simply has nobody reading their written Hindi carefully.

  • Priced per submitted piece, not per 60 minutes
  • Annotation on the student's own page, in Hindi
  • Running error log maintained across the term
  • The lowest-cost option that still produces real evidence

Weekly teaching plus marking

The standard arrangement: one 60-minute session a week with two short handwritten pieces marked between lessons. The quote should state clearly whether marking time is inside or outside the billed hour, because that single detail explains most of the difference between two apparently similar prices.

  • Rate quoted per 60 minutes, with the marking position stated
  • Two handwritten pieces a week included or priced separately, never implied
  • Slot moved within the week rather than forfeited
  • A written note after each session for a parent to read later

Exam-term block

A fixed number of sessions in the weeks before the series, bought as a block with a stated end date. Demand for specialist hours peaks between January and April in Dubai, so booking this in November costs less in practice than booking it in February, when the slots that remain are the inconvenient ones.

  • Fixed session count and end date agreed before payment
  • Timed full-length pieces rather than new syllabus content
  • Booked early for the slot, not the discount
  • Written handover at the end, whether or not it continues

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai

01

The Dubai rate bands, with the provider attached to each number

Here is what the market actually publishes, which is more than any competitor page in this cluster does. Budget online tutoring, generally delivered by university students or overseas conversation tutors, is advertised from roughly AED 45 to 150 an hour, with EdFlik quoting from AED 45 to 65 and Tutopiya from the low AED 30s to low AED 50s. Qualified subject tutors working online are published from around AED 150 to 300, with Unitors listing IGCSE from AED 150 and IB from AED 200.

In-home one-to-one tuition, with travel inside the fee, runs roughly AED 180 to 500, with Bestimate's 2026 Dubai rate table in the AED 180 to 350 band and independent home tutors quoting up to AED 500. Specialist IB, IGCSE and A Level tutors are quoted from about AED 200 to 450 and above, with TutorChase publishing AED 270. At the top, premium named tutors are quoted higher again, with BartyED at AED 650.

Monthly figures circulate alongside these. Advertised packages in this market include around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and roughly AED 1,599 to 1,799 a month for four two-hour in-home visits. Bestimate's monthly estimates for weekly one-hour sessions are approximately AED 240 to 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to 1,200 in the middle, and AED 1,000 to 2,000 and above for specialist exam-year support.

Two framing notes, because the numbers are useless without them. Every figure above belongs to the provider or rate table named and was published by them, not by us; IB Gram does not operate a published price list and does not want these bands read as one. And they are hourly rates for a service whose contents differ: an AED 60 hour of Hindi conversation and an AED 250 hour that includes scheme-based marking of handwritten Devanagari are not the same product sold at different prices.

Six things that move a Hindi quote in this emirate

A price is not a number, it is a set of decisions, and in Dubai six of them do nearly all the work. The first is whether marking is included. A quote that covers teaching only and leaves written work unread is cheaper for an obvious reason and will not move a 0549 grade, because this is a written examination and the marks are lost on the page.

The second is travel, which is the largest single component separating in-home from online quotes and has nothing to do with teaching. The third is syllabus specialism: a tutor who knows the 0549 component structure and question formats costs more than a fluent speaker, and for a Cambridge candidate that premium is the part worth paying. The fourth is timing — exam-term demand in Dubai concentrates between January and April, and the slots left in February are both scarcer and less convenient.

The fifth is session length and shape. Two 40-minute sessions a week typically cost more in total than one 80-minute session, and for handwritten Hindi the shorter, more frequent arrangement works better, so here the cheaper option is also the less effective one. The sixth is stage: Lower Secondary work sits at the bottom of the range, IGCSE in the middle, and Diploma language teaching at the top, which is a supply effect rather than a statement about difficulty.

The table turns those six into questions a parent can put to any provider before paying. A tutor who answers all six clearly is quoting on a defined service; one who answers none of them is quoting a number, and the two cannot be compared even when the figures look similar.

Provider models compared, without naming anyone better or worse

The useful comparison in this market is between models rather than between brands. An agency, a marketplace, an independent freelance tutor, a tuition centre and a school's own support service are structurally different purchases, and their price differences follow from that structure rather than from how good the teaching happens to be in any individual case.

An agency charges more because somebody vets, matches and replaces tutors, and because there is a business behind the invoice. A marketplace is cheaper per hour and transfers the vetting to the parent. A freelance tutor found through a community group is cheapest of all and carries the most variance, since there is no mechanism at all behind the arrangement. A tuition centre prices monthly for group classes, which is excellent value per hour and provides almost no individual marked writing, the thing a 0549 candidate most needs.

One point of law applies across all of them and is worth knowing before any model is chosen. Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated by permit: the MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, and individuals offering private tutoring without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws. The permit is granted free of charge for two years, and the official route is MoHRE's private tutor licensing service, which lists no fee and a two working day completion time. No fine schedule is published, so nobody should be quoting you an amount.

The table compares the models on the things a Dubai parent can actually verify. We have put IB Gram in it on the same terms as the rest, including the row where we do not offer something, because a comparison table in which the author wins every column is not a comparison.

04

Why the cheapest Hindi hour in Dubai is usually the most expensive

  • Ask for one page marked before you book anything
  • Annotation in Hindi on the student's own page, or it did not happen
  • Compare cost per mark recovered, not cost per hour
  • Budget conversation practice has a real use; exam preparation is not it

There is a specific failure mode in this subject that costs Dubai families more than any other, and it is not a bad tutor. It is a competent Hindi speaker, charging very little, doing the wrong activity for six months. The sessions are pleasant, the student talks, the parent hears Hindi in the next room, and nothing on the page changes because nothing on the page was ever examined.

The arithmetic is unforgiving. Thirty weekly hours at AED 60 is AED 1,800 spent on an activity that does not address a written examination. Twelve hours at AED 220, with two pieces marked between each, is roughly AED 2,640 spent on the thing the grade is made of. The second is more expensive per hour and cheaper per mark recovered, and the first is the option most families choose because the headline number is reassuring.

The test is simple and worth applying before any money changes hands. Ask the prospective tutor to mark one page of your child's handwritten Hindi and return it. What comes back answers everything: whether annotations are on the student's own page or summarised in English, whether the error is named by category or described as careless, and whether the mark scheme appears anywhere in the reasoning. A tutor who will not do this for one page will not do it for thirty.

None of this means the budget tier is useless. Cheap conversation practice is genuinely good value for maintaining a spoken language, for a younger child, or alongside a marking-only arrangement that handles the written side. The error is buying it as exam preparation for a written paper, which is what the market mostly sells it as.

05

Tuition cost in context: fees, the freeze and a two-year plan

A tuition number means little on its own, so it is worth placing against the rest of a Dubai household's education spending. KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that private school fees in the emirate would not rise for the 2026-27 academic year, under Dubai's second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion within an overall AED 2.5 billion. The sector itself continues to grow: seven new private schools are being added for 2026-27, four UK curriculum and three International Baccalaureate, creating 16,846 new places, after six opened during 2025-26 and enrolment rose 6 per cent.

Against a fixed school fee, a tuition decision is the one line a family still controls. The table below sets out what different intensities of Hindi support cost across a two-year IGCSE course at market mid-band rates, so a household can see the commitment whole rather than month by month. The figures are illustrative arithmetic on published market bands, not a quotation from us.

Two items in that table deserve attention. The marking-only arrangement is the cheapest thing in the list that still produces evidence, and for a well-taught student it is frequently sufficient. The full two-year weekly plan is the largest number and the one families drift into by default rather than choose, usually because nobody set a review point at the end of the first term.

The last row is the one nobody includes in a budget. Entering as a private candidate, where a school does not offer the subject, carries a fee set by the exam centre rather than by the board, and centres in Dubai set their own figures and deadlines. Ask the centre directly, in writing, and ask early, because entry deadlines sit months ahead of the papers.

06

VAT, invoices and what a quote should actually say

  • Convert every quote to a figure per 60 minutes before comparing
  • Ask in one sentence whether the figure includes VAT, and ask for an invoice
  • Get the cancellation position for both sides, in writing
  • Ask whether the rate is held for the term

Ask for the quote in writing and ask what it includes, because the two most common disputes in this market are both documentary. The first is the unit: a rate per session is not a rate per hour, and a 45-minute session quoted as an hourly figure is a 25 per cent price difference hidden in a word. Always convert to a figure per 60 minutes before comparing anything.

The second is tax. We are not going to state the UAE VAT treatment of tuition fees as a general rule, because that requires a Federal Tax Authority citation and a tutoring page is not the place to invent one. What a family can and should establish is narrower and entirely answerable: does the figure you have been quoted include VAT or not, and will you receive an invoice that says so. Any provider should be able to answer that in one sentence, and a provider registered for VAT should be able to show a tax registration number.

Three other things belong in a written quote. What happens to a session cancelled by the family at short notice, and by the tutor. Whether marking is inside the billed time. And whether the rate is held for the term or can be revised, which matters in a market where exam-term rates visibly rise between November and February.

None of this is suspicion of tutors; it is ordinary procurement applied to a purchase that frequently runs to four figures a month. Households that get these answers in writing before the first payment rarely have a difficult conversation later, and the request itself tells you something useful about how organised the other side is.

07

The permit is free, and so are three other things

Some costs in this market are genuinely zero, and knowing which ones protects a family from paying for them. The private tuition work permit is the clearest case: the UAE permit introduced under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 is granted free of charge for two years, and MoHRE's own service page for private tutor licensing lists no fee and a two working day completion time, applied for through the ministry's smart app, website and e-services. Eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private-sector employees, unemployed individuals, university students and school students aged 15 to 18.

Two consequences follow. A tutor should not be passing on a permit cost to you, because there is not one to pass on. And no provider should be quoting you a fine figure for operating without a permit: the position is that individuals tutoring without one are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule has been published. A figure circulating in this market could not be verified, and we will not reprint it.

The second free thing should be the trial. Ours is one 30-minute live lesson per family, at no cost, with no card details taken, and those are the conditions in full. The word free is worth nothing without the conditions stated beside it, so ask any provider for theirs on the same screen as the offer: how long, how many, and whether a payment method is required to start.

The third and fourth are a first marked page and a clear answer about what happens to unused hours. A tutor who will mark one page of your child's handwriting before you commit is demonstrating the service rather than describing it, and a provider who can state the pause and cancellation position in two sentences has thought about the exam term. Neither should be behind a payment. Separately and plainly: IB Gram holds no approval, accreditation, licence or partnership from KHDA, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE or Cambridge, and a KHDA Educational Services Permit is a specific authorisation issued to training institutes with premises, which we do not have in this emirate.

08

Spending a limited budget in the right order

  • First: one properly marked diagnostic hour
  • Second: marking rather than conversation, for a home-fluent student
  • Third: a short teaching block with a stated end date
  • Fourth, exam year only: timed full-length practice
  • Never: finished work, or a promised grade

If a household has a fixed amount to spend on Hindi, the order of spending matters more than the total. First buy the diagnosis: one hour in which a timed piece of handwritten Hindi and one unseen comprehension are marked properly, with the error categories ranked. That hour tells you whether you are facing a script-accuracy problem, a register problem or a comprehension problem, and those three need different amounts of money.

Second, buy the marking rather than the talking. For a home-fluent Dubai student, the binding constraint is almost always that nobody reads their written Hindi carefully, and a marking-only arrangement addresses that at the lowest cost of anything in this market that produces evidence. Many families discover at this point that they need less than they expected, which is an outcome a provider should be willing to report.

Third, buy teaching for the specific thing the diagnosis named, in a short block with an end date, and review it against the first marked script. Fourth, and only in the exam year, buy timed full-length practice. What should come last, or not at all, is the open-ended weekly arrangement with no review point, which is where most of the money in this market goes and where the least of it is accounted for.

Two things should not be bought at any point in that sequence. Finished work in any form, which is a malpractice exposure for the candidate rather than for whoever sold it. And a prediction: forecast grades are produced by the school from the school's own evidence, and anybody selling a promised outcome on a written language paper is describing something outside their control.

Where we tutor

Dubai communities and what a Hindi quote looks like in each

In-home quotes in Dubai vary by community because travel is priced into them. These notes describe what that does to a local Hindi quote, and what disappears from the number once lessons are delivered over video.

Dubai Sports City

Apartment community with a growing secondary population and a moderate local tuition-centre presence. In-home Hindi quotes here sit mid-range; the group classes advertised locally are cheaper per hour but rarely include marked written work.

Remraam and Dubailand

Peripheral communities where an evening in-home visit means a long round trip, so quotes reach the upper AED 300s and beyond for a single hour. This is where the travel component of a price is most visible and most avoidable.

Arjan and Al Barsha South

Dense newer apartment stock close to several campuses, so local supply is reasonable and in-home quotes are competitive. The trade-off is that the available tutors are generalists; syllabus-specific Hindi marking is rarely on offer at a local rate.

Dubai South

Low-density and far from the established school clusters. Families here report the widest spread of quotes in the emirate for the same request, which is a travel effect rather than a quality signal, and the clearest argument for pricing an online session instead.

Mudon and Serena

Townhouse communities with young secondary cohorts. Shared or sibling-group arrangements are commonly advertised here at a lower headline rate; the question to ask is how much individual marked writing each child actually receives inside that hour.

Liwan and Queue Point

Affordable high-density housing with a large Indian-curriculum population and a dense informal tuition market. Headline rates are the lowest in the emirate, and almost none of them include scheme-based marking of handwritten Hindi.

Al Quoz

Mixed industrial and residential with several schools and a visible tuition-centre presence. Centre group classes here are priced per month rather than per hour, so the per-contact-hour figure has to be worked out before it can be compared with anything.

Newer campuses serving the southern communities, with secondary year groups still growing and narrower optional-subject offers than the older schools. Students we support attend schools in this group; nothing about their inclusion implies any relationship with IB Gram.

  • GEMS FirstPoint School
  • GEMS Metropole School Motor City
  • The Aquila School
  • Safa Community School
  • Repton Al Barsha
  • GEMS United School

Al Quoz, Al Barsha South and Dubai South

A mix of long-established Indian-curriculum schools and newer campuses on the western and southern corridors. Hindi provision varies considerably between them, which is part of why household tuition spend on this subject varies so much across the emirate.

  • GEMS Winchester School Dubai
  • The Indian International School Dubai
  • Oasis International School Dubai
  • Emirates International School Meadows
  • Dubai National School Al Barsha
  • South View School

Named schools provide context on where Hindi is taught in Dubai. IB Gram asserts no partnership, affiliation, endorsement or client relationship with any of them.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Ask for the figure per 60 minutes

Not per session, not per month, and with the marking position stated. That single number, defined that way, is what makes two quotes comparable. A provider who cannot give it in one line is not necessarily expensive, but they have not defined the service they are selling you.

  2. 02

Send one handwritten page before you pay

A photograph of one page of your child's Hindi, marked and returned, demonstrates the service rather than describing it. Look at whether annotations are in Hindi on the student's own page, whether the error is named by category, and whether the mark scheme appears in the reasoning.

  3. 03

Take the free trial, then buy the diagnosis

One 30-minute live trial per family, no cost and no card details. After that, a single paid diagnostic hour across a timed writing task and an unseen comprehension gives you the error categories ranked, which is what decides how much money the subject actually needs.

  4. 04

    Fix the terms in writing

What happens to a cancelled session on either side, whether marking sits inside the billed time, whether the rate is held for the term, and whether the quoted figure includes VAT with an invoice to match. Four questions, answerable in four sentences, settled before the first payment.

  5. 05

Set the review date when you book

Six or eight weeks, with the first marked script placed beside the latest one. The honest options at that point include spending less, moving to marking only, or stopping. An arrangement with no review date is where open-ended spending in this market comes from.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Rates published with their sources

Every AED figure on this page is attributed to the provider or rate table that published it, with the band it belongs to. Three of the competitor pages researched for this market publish no price at all, and two quote in US dollars, which is not the currency a Dubai family pays in.

No price list dressed as a market rate

IB Gram does not publish an hourly list, and we have not invented one to sit inside these bands. The figure you are quoted is per 60 minutes with the marking position stated, and the market numbers above are there to let you judge it rather than to make it look competitive.

The cheap hour named for what it is

Conversation practice at the budget end of this market is good value for keeping a spoken language alive and will not move a written examination grade. We would rather say that than sell thirty hours of it to a household whose child loses marks on matra placement and formal register.

Costs that should be zero, identified

The MoHRE private tuition permit is free for two years, so nobody should be passing on a permit cost. No published fine schedule exists, so nobody should quote you a fine. The trial should be free with its conditions stated, and one marked page should not sit behind a payment.

A review date, so spending ends by decision

Every arrangement carries a written review point at which reducing or stopping is a normal outcome. The largest number in the cost table is the full two-year weekly plan, and almost nobody chooses it deliberately — they arrive at it because no one set a date to look at the evidence.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai: your questions answered

How much should we expect to pay an online Hindi 0549 tutor in Dubai?+

For a qualified subject tutor working online, published rates in this market run roughly AED 150 to 300 an hour, with Unitors listing IGCSE from AED 150. A named-syllabus specialist who also marks handwritten work sits higher, around AED 200 to 450, with TutorChase publishing AED 270. Below that, budget online tutoring is advertised from about AED 45 to 65 by EdFlik and from the low AED 30s by Tutopiya, and at that level marking is rarely included. Those are the providers' own published figures, not ours, and the gap between the bands is mostly about whether anyone reads the written work.

Why do two tutors quote AED 150 and AED 400 for the same subject?+

Six things explain almost all of it. Whether marking of written work is included. Whether the rate carries travel. Whether the tutor knows the 0549 syllabus specifically or simply speaks Hindi. When in the year you are booking, since Dubai exam-term demand concentrates between January and April. How long and how frequent the sessions are, because two short ones cost more in total than one long one. And the stage, with Diploma-level language teaching priced above IGCSE. Ask about all six and the two quotes usually stop looking arbitrary.

Is a monthly Hindi package better value than paying by the hour?+

Only if you convert it first. Advertised packages in this market include around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and about AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour in-home visits. The second is more tutor time and it is delivered in four long sittings, which suits handwritten Hindi badly — short and frequent works better for this subject. Divide any package by the number of useful contact hours, check whether marking is inside that time, and check what happens to a session you cannot attend. A package that forfeits missed sessions is a worse deal than its headline suggests.

Do Hindi tuition quotes in Dubai include VAT?+

That has to be asked provider by provider, and we are not going to state the general UAE VAT treatment of tuition fees here, because doing so properly needs a Federal Tax Authority citation rather than a tutoring page's assurance. What you should establish before paying is narrow and completely answerable: does the figure quoted include VAT or not, and will you get an invoice that says so. A provider registered for VAT should be able to produce a tax registration number. One sentence each, in writing, before the first payment.

Does the price go up closer to the June series?+

The headline rate often does not, but the effective cost does, because specialist availability collapses. Demand in Dubai concentrates between January and April, and a family booking in February is choosing from the slots nobody else wanted rather than from the whole week. Some providers in this market do also price exam-term blocks higher. The practical response is to book the slot in November for a block that starts later, and to ask explicitly whether the quoted rate is held for the term or can be revised.

Is the trial lesson genuinely free, and what is the condition?+

Ours is one live 30-minute lesson per family, at no cost, with no card details required to book it. Those are the conditions in full, and they should be stated beside the offer rather than discovered afterwards. Ask any provider the same three questions: how long is it, how many does a family get, and is a payment method needed to start. The word free is worth nothing on its own, and a trial that requires card details before a lesson happens is a subscription with a delay in it.

Should we pay more for a tutor who is described as an examiner?+

We do not use examiner status as a selling point, because current examiner status for an individual is something we cannot evidence to you, and it should never be presented as access to marking, grade boundaries or paper content. What is worth paying for is demonstrable: has this tutor taught the 0549 syllabus, and can they mark a page of your child's handwritten Hindi against the published scheme so you can see the reasoning. Ask for that page instead. It is a better test than any title and it costs nothing to request.

Does it cost more if the tutor is based in the UAE rather than overseas?+

Often yes, for cost-of-living reasons rather than quality ones, which is part of why overseas conversation tutors sit at the bottom of the published bands. For a Cambridge syllabus the relevant question is different: does the tutor know 0549 and can they mark written Devanagari against the scheme. Where a tutor is providing private tuition inside the UAE, the MoHRE private tuition work permit applies and is free for two years, so nobody should be adding a permit cost to your rate either way.

Is AED 50 an hour for Hindi conversation practice worth buying?+

For maintaining a spoken language, for a younger child, or alongside a separate marking arrangement, it is good value and we would not talk anybody out of it. As preparation for 0549 it is the wrong purchase, because the examination is written and the marks go on matra placement, conjunct formation, legibility and formal register. Thirty hours at AED 50 is AED 1,500 spent on an activity the paper does not assess. The test before you buy is to ask for one page of handwriting marked and see what comes back.

What does a full two-year 0549 course cost if we buy weekly lessons throughout?+

At Bestimate's published mid-band monthly estimate of roughly AED 600 to 1,200 for weekly one-hour sessions, a continuous two-year arrangement is the largest commitment available in this subject, and most families arrive at it by drift rather than by decision. The alternative that usually produces the same grade for less is a diagnostic hour, a marking-only arrangement for the bulk of Year 10, and a short teaching block where the diagnosis names a specific fault. Set a review date each term, and treat reducing the spend as a normal outcome of that review.

Is group Hindi tuition cheaper, and does it work?+

Considerably cheaper per hour, and the per-hour figure is the wrong comparison. Tuition centres in Dubai price group classes monthly and the arithmetic looks excellent until you ask how much individual handwritten work each child gets back marked, which in a group of eight is very little. For a written language paper, marked individual writing is the active ingredient. A group class plus a separate marking-only arrangement can be a sensible combination; a group class alone usually is not for an exam-year candidate.

Does the tutor's permit add anything to what we pay?+

No, and if anybody tells you otherwise they are wrong. The UAE private tuition work permit, introduced under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years, and MoHRE's own private tutor licensing service lists no fee and a two working day completion time through the ministry's app, website and e-services. There is no cost to pass on. Equally, nobody should be quoting you a fine figure for tutoring without a permit: the published position is that fines and penalties apply under the applicable laws, with no schedule of amounts released.

What is the cheapest genuinely useful thing we can buy for a 0549 candidate?+

One properly marked diagnostic hour, followed by a marking-only arrangement. The diagnostic tells you whether the problem is script accuracy, register or comprehension of unseen passages, which are three different amounts of money. The marking arrangement then addresses the thing most home-fluent Dubai students actually lack, which is somebody reading their written Hindi carefully every week. Many families find at that point that they need less teaching than they assumed, and that is a legitimate finding rather than a failed sale.

Can we pay for marking only, with no lessons at all?+

Yes, and for a well-taught student it is frequently the right purchase. The student writes by hand, photographs the page, submits it, and receives it back annotated in Hindi with the error category named and logged. It is priced per piece rather than per hour, which makes it the lowest-cost option in this market that still produces dated evidence you can compare month to month. Families often start here, add a short teaching block where the error log names something specific, and never buy a weekly course at all.

Are Dubai tuition centres cheaper than an online private tutor?+

Per hour, almost always, because the cost is spread across a class and priced by the month. What you are not buying is individual attention to handwritten Hindi, and in a written language paper that is where the marks are. The comparison to run is cost per piece of marked individual writing rather than cost per hour of attendance. A centre class for content coverage plus a separate marking arrangement for the written side often costs less in total than a weekly private course and does more than either alone.

Ask for the figure per 60 minutes, and for one page marked

If you are pricing a Cambridge IGCSE Hindi 0549 online tutor in Dubai, two requests will tell you more than any amount of comparison. Ask for the rate per 60 minutes with the marking position stated, and send one page of your child's handwritten Hindi to be marked and returned. The first makes quotes comparable; the second shows you what you would be buying. Take the free 30-minute trial, settle the cancellation and VAT position in writing, and set a review date before the first payment. If the honest recommendation is marking only, that is what we will say.
