Cambridge IGCSE Environmental Management 0680 Home Tutor in Dubai

Hiring a Cambridge IGCSE Environmental Management 0680 home tutor in Dubai means paying for an hour that contains a drive. Published in-home rates across the emirate run from AED 180 to AED 500, and 25 to 45 minutes of that each way is a car on Al Khail Road. This page prices the alternative honestly: IB Gram teaches 0680 one-to-one online over live video, and home visits are a service we run only in India.

  • In-home and online AED bands shown side by side, with sources
  • Travel time priced openly rather than buried in an hourly rate
  • 0680 sessions budgeted by topic weakness, not by package length
  • Free trial lesson before you pay, and no card details required

IB & IGCSE in Dubai

An in-home 0680 rate is a teaching rate plus a driving rate

Start with the arithmetic nobody puts in writing. A tutor who visits a villa in Arabian Ranches at 4.30pm on a Tuesday spends somewhere between fifty and ninety minutes in a car for one hour of teaching. That time is real, it is unpaid, and it is recovered inside the hourly figure the family is quoted. Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to 350; independent home tutors in the emirate advertise up to AED 500. Online, the same table and the same providers put qualified subject tuition at AED 150 to 300 and specialist exam-year support at AED 200 to 450. The gap between those two columns is mostly fuel, traffic and risk.

That is not an argument that in-home tutoring is a swindle. For a nine-year-old who will not stay at a desk without an adult beside them, physical presence is the service and it is worth paying for. For a Year 11 student sitting two written papers on resource management, it is a premium attached to something the subject does not require. 0680 has no coursework, no practical and no apparatus. What it has is a resource booklet of graphs and tables that both people need to annotate at the same time, which a shared screen does better than a shared printout.

The honest position, stated before any rate table: IB Gram does not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE. Home visits are a service we run only in India, and that is true on this page as it is on the forty-eight other country pages we publish. What a Dubai family gets instead is one-to-one teaching over live video in Gulf Standard Time, a tutor chosen for having taught the whole 0680 syllabus rather than for living nearby, and an hour in which nothing is being recovered except teaching.

The second thing the in-home premium buys, unintentionally, is a smaller choice. Environmental Management is thin on the ground in this emirate. It is frequently taught as an additional subject by a geographer or a biologist, often to a group of eight, and the number of adults in Dubai who have taken a cohort through both papers is small. Draw a twenty-minute radius around a villa in Town Square or Al Khawaneej and the number inside it may be zero. Remove the radius and the constraint disappears, at a lower rate.

So this page does two things. It prices in-home 0680 support in Dubai using figures each provider published, with the month we read them, because three of the six best-ranking pages in this market publish no price at all. And it then budgets the work the way a parent actually needs it budgeted: by which third of the syllabus is broken and how many sessions that third takes, rather than by an hourly rate that tells you nothing about the total.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

What a family should spend changes with how much runway is left. These are the four points in a Dubai student's route where 0680 money gets committed, and what each one buys.

Y10Ages 14-15 · Year 10

Cambridge IGCSE, first year

The cheapest intervention in the whole subject. A short block on data technique in Year 10 - reading values with units, describing a trend with figures, answering the command term printed - costs a few sessions and removes the fault that would otherwise cap Paper 2 eighteen months later. Almost nobody buys here, which is why the February market is so busy.

Most Dubai British-curriculum schools begin IGCSE teaching in Year 10, and 0680 often sits in an option block with less class time than the core sciences. Asking the school how many periods a week the subject gets is a useful piece of free information: a thinner timetable allocation is a fair predictor of how much outside support the student will need.

Y11Ages 15-16 · Year 11

Cambridge IGCSE, exam year

Where most 0680 spending happens and where each mark costs most. A family arriving after the January mocks is buying a compressed block in the weeks when every Year 11 cohort in Dubai wants the same scarce specialists. The teaching is the same; the choice of who delivers it is much narrower.

Dubai mock windows cluster in January, and the emirate's Year 11 tutoring demand peaks immediately afterwards. For a thin subject that means availability, not the headline rate, is what moves. A family that books a specialist in October pays the same figure for a materially better match.

RESITAges 16-17 · after results

Resit and second-series entry

An underused route and one with real costs attached beyond tutoring. Cambridge runs IGCSE in a June series and a November series, so a student who misses a grade in June can re-enter later in the year. The tutoring block for a resit is usually short and surgical, because the diagnosis already exists in the original script.

Entry for a resit may be through the student's own school or through an external centre, and the entry fee is set by the centre rather than by any tutoring provider. Ask the centre in writing, and ask specifically about 0680 rather than about IGCSEs in general, because availability by syllabus varies between Dubai centres.

POST16Ages 16-19 · Years 12-13

Sixth form and Diploma routes

Where the return on 0680 spending shows. The subject feeds AS and A Level Geography, Environmental Management where a school offers it, and IB Environmental Systems and Societies or Geography. Dubai market rates for post-16 support sit above IGCSE rates, so technique bought at fifteen displaces dearer remediation at seventeen.

Not every Dubai school that teaches 0680 continues it after Year 11, and provision varies considerably between sixth forms in the emirate. Confirm in writing with the specific school which post-16 options a 0680 grade actually feeds before locking option choices, rather than assuming continuity.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Supply depth differs enormously by subject in Dubai, and supply is what sets a rate. Here is who actually teaches each of these subjects in the emirate and how easy it is to find them.

Environmental Management (0680)

Single tier, two written papers

Thin supply. Usually taught by a geographer or biologist carrying it as an additional subject, so a tutor strong on one half of the syllabus and weak on the other is the common case. Finding someone who has taught all ten topic areas and both papers is the constraint that drives the rate, not the difficulty of the content.

Geography (0460)

Core and Extended

Reasonable supply across Dubai, concentrated in the Al Barsha and Jumeirah school corridor. The nearest adjacent subject to 0680 and the most common fallback when no 0680 specialist is free, though a geographer needs support on the ecological topics to cover the syllabus properly.

Biology (0610)

Core and Extended

Deep supply and competitive rates, because every school has a biology department and many teachers tutor. A biologist covers 0680's ecosystems, population and pollution material well and typically needs preparation on rocks, minerals, energy generation and the atmosphere.

Chemistry (0620)

Core and Extended

Deep supply, similar rates to Biology. Relevant to 0680 pricing only as a comparison point: if a provider quotes the same figure for Chemistry and for 0680, ask what their 0680 tutor has actually taught, because the two markets do not have the same depth.

Physics (0625)

Core and Extended

Good supply and the highest demand of the three sciences in Dubai. Useful for the energy topic specifically - efficiency, energy transfer, the real limits of solar and nuclear output - which a physicist explains more precisely than most geographers.

Mathematics (0580)

Core and Extended

The deepest supply and the lowest rates in the emirate. Worth engaging separately if a 0680 diagnosis points at arithmetic: percentage change from the wrong baseline and misread graph scales are cheaper to fix with a maths tutor than with a specialist charging the 0680 band.

Co-ordinated Sciences (0654)

Double award

Widely taught in Dubai, so supply is adequate. Students on this route take 0680 as a third science option and come with broad but shallow foundations, which means more topic-building hours and fewer technique hours than a single-science student needs.

Global Perspectives (0457)

Single tier

Thin supply, the same band as 0680 and for the same reason. Genuinely worth combining: the source-evaluation skill the 0457 written paper tests is the same reliability thinking a 0680 resource booklet rewards, so one tutor can cover both and the reading is bought once.

Economics (0455)

Single tier

Reasonable supply, mid-band rates. Sharpens the cost reasoning in 0680 evaluation answers, where a student who understands opportunity cost argues far better about whether to build desalination capacity or to manage demand.

Travel and Tourism (0471)

Single tier

Very thin supply in Dubai and quoted accordingly. Shares 0680's sustainability and coastal-management territory, and a student taking both can reuse UAE tourism-pressure case studies in either paper, which is a rare efficiency in a thin pair of subjects.

Development Studies and Sociology (0453 / 0495)

Single tier

Thin supply, specialist band. Both sit close to 0680's population and sustainability material, and the research-methods content in Sociology trains the same scepticism about a data source that a resource booklet demands.

Arabic as a Foreign Language (0544)

Single tier

Deep supply across Dubai at a wide range of rates. Relevant to any 0680 budget simply because KHDA requires Arabic in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed curriculum, so it is rarely a subject a family can choose not to fund.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three structures, three cost shapes. All delivered one-to-one online over live video; the variable is how much you commit and when the money is spent.

Diagnostic session, then decide

One paid hour after the free trial, spent entirely on finding out what is wrong: a timed data question, a check on arithmetic, a sample of definitions across the ten topic areas. You end with a written plan naming the number of sessions each fault needs, and you are free to take it elsewhere.

  • No commitment beyond the single hour
  • A written fault list, not a sales recommendation
  • Session counts attached to each fault so the total is visible
  • Useful even if you then hire someone else

Technique block with a fixed end

Four to six sessions on Paper 2 procedure, agreed up front in AED with a stated finish. The commonest purchase in this subject and the one with the clearest effect on a mock grade, because resource-booklet technique converts to marks faster than topic coverage does.

  • Session count and purpose agreed before the first paid hour
  • Ends with marked timed data questions and a cleared error list
  • No automatic renewal and no rolling monthly charge
  • A short handover note for the school's 0680 teacher

Topic repair, paced across a term

For students whose problem is genuine gaps rather than technique. Eight to sixteen sessions across a term, sequenced by exam weight rather than chapter order, which spreads the spend and avoids the peak-demand squeeze between the January mocks and the end of Term 2.

  • Diagnostic across all ten topic areas before any sequence is set
  • Priority given to water, energy, agriculture and sustainability
  • Sessions paused for mock fortnights rather than charged through
  • Ramadan sessions moved to post-Iftar hours

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dubai

01

What the Dubai market charges for in-home 0680 support

Here are the published numbers, each attributed to the provider or rate table that published it, read in October 2026. For in-home one-to-one across Dubai, Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 table gives AED 180 to 350 an hour, and independent home tutors in the emirate advertise up to AED 500. Monthly in-home packages are marketed at AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour sessions. Online, Unitors quotes IGCSE tuition from AED 150, TutorChase publishes AED 270 for specialist support, Bestimate puts specialist exam-year support at AED 200 to 450 or more, and at the budget end Tutopiya advertises from AED 33 to 52 and EdFlik from AED 45 to 65. BartyED publishes AED 650 at the premium end.

Set against each other, those figures say something specific rather than something vague. The in-home premium over a comparable online rate is roughly AED 50 to 150 an hour depending on where you live and how far the tutor travels. For a weekly session across an academic year that is a meaningful sum, and it buys physical presence rather than better teaching. A family should decide deliberately whether presence is the thing they need, because for a subject assessed by two written papers with no practical, it usually is not.

The table below is organised by format rather than by price band, and it includes the column no provider in this market publishes: what is actually inside the hour. An in-home hour contains the drive, recovered through the rate. A group class at a centre contains the pace of the group. A recorded course contains no marking at all. An online one-to-one hour contains teaching and, where the provider includes it, written feedback on the student's own script between sessions.

One figure on this page is ours rather than the market's, and it is not a price: zero. That is the number of home visits IB Gram makes anywhere across the Emirates. Home visits are a service we run only in India, and we would rather say so in the first screen of a page targeting this search than let a parent discover it after a consultation call.

The travel maths, community by community

  • Tutor supply clusters between Al Sufouh, Al Barsha and Dubai Hills
  • Arabian Ranches, Town Square and Al Khawaneej carry the largest travel premium
  • An in-home slot has to sit between 4pm and 6pm, the worst hours for a Year 11 student
  • Online slots can sit at 7.30pm, Saturday morning or post-Iftar
  • Buy presence where presence helps; buy specialism for 0680

Dubai geography decides the in-home premium far more than qualifications do. The tutoring supply in this city is concentrated in a corridor running roughly from Al Sufouh through Al Barsha to Dubai Hills, where most of the long-established British-curriculum secondaries sit and where most of the people who tutor their subjects live. The further a family is from that corridor, the more car is inside their hour.

From that corridor to Arabian Ranches is twenty-five to forty minutes outside peak and considerably worse at 4.30pm, when the school run and the first wave of office traffic overlap. To Town Square or Dubai South is longer again, and some tutors simply decline. To Al Khawaneej or Mushrif is an awkward eastern run in both directions. To International City and Warsan the distance is moderate but the demand is price-sensitive, so what gets offered locally is usually a generalist covering five subjects rather than a 0680 specialist.

There is a second, less visible cost to the drive: it shapes the timetable. An in-home slot must sit in the window a tutor can physically reach, which in practice means 4pm to 6pm on weekdays. That is exactly the window a Year 11 student is least able to use well, arriving from school, often straight from a co-curricular, with an hour of homework already waiting. An online slot can sit at 7.30pm, at 9am on a Saturday for longer resource-booklet work, or after Iftar during Ramadan when a shorter later session actually lands.

For families who do want someone in the room, the sensible version of that choice is to buy presence for the subjects that benefit from it and buy specialism for the ones that do not. A younger sibling who needs an adult at the table is a good use of an in-home hour. A sixteen-year-old whose Paper 2 technique is the problem is not, and paying the travel premium to get the wrong half of a syllabus taught is the worst outcome available.

03

Budgeting a 0680 plan by weakness rather than by hours

An hourly rate cannot answer the question a parent is actually asking, which is what this will cost in total. That depends on which fault the student has, and the faults in this subject are distinguishable enough to cost separately. The table below sets out the ones we see most, the session counts each typically takes, and an indicative AED range built by multiplying those sessions against the published specialist band of AED 200 to 450 an hour. The arithmetic is simple and the assumption is stated, which is more than this market generally offers.

Two of these faults are cheap and are usually fixed last. Arithmetic errors - percentage change from the wrong baseline, values read between gridlines, totals compared when the question asked about rates - cost a meaningful number of marks and take one or two sessions to drill out, and can often be addressed by a maths tutor at a lower rate than a 0680 specialist. Command-term discipline is the other: four marked papers with the term circled in every question changes behaviour, and it transfers to Geography, Biology and Economics at no extra cost.

The expensive fault is genuine topic absence, particularly when a student has taken 0680 standalone without Geography or Biology behind it and the entire physical half of the syllabus has to be built. That is eight to sixteen sessions, it cannot be compressed into three weeks, and a family arriving in April should be told so rather than sold a package that cannot deliver. We would rather have that conversation than take the booking.

One more line that belongs in a budget and rarely appears in one: the cost of doing nothing until February. The same number of hours bought in the peak weeks after the January mocks buys a narrower choice of tutor, because the few people in Dubai who have taught both 0680 papers are committed by then. The rate does not move much. What you can buy with it does.

Why there are so few 0680 teachers in Dubai at any price

Parents often read a high quote for a niche subject as opportunism. In this case it is arithmetic about supply. Dubai had 227 private schools serving 387,441 students in 2024-25 across 17 different curricula, and the great majority of the UK-curriculum schools among them run the mainstream IGCSEs. Every one of them has a maths department and a science department. Environmental Management is an option subject, not every school offers it, and where it is offered it is often one class taught by one teacher.

That arithmetic produces a teaching population measured in dozens rather than hundreds for the whole emirate, and only a fraction of those people tutor privately. Of the ones who do, many are comfortable with half the syllabus. A geographer carries water, hazards, population and development confidently and needs preparation on nutrient cycling, biodiversity and marine systems. A biologist is the mirror image. A tutor who has genuinely taught all ten topic areas across both papers is the scarce item, and scarcity is what the specialist band is pricing.

The consequence for a family hiring in-home is sharper than the rate suggests. Restricting the search to a twenty-minute radius does not just raise the price; in some Dubai communities it reduces the candidate pool to zero, and the family ends up hiring a general science tutor and hoping. We see the result of that regularly: a student who has had eight sessions on ecosystems and has never been shown how to work a resource booklet.

Being honest about this cuts both ways, and we will say the uncomfortable half too. There are weeks in the Dubai academic year when we cannot place a 0680 specialist either, particularly in the squeeze between the January mocks and the end of Term 2. When that happens we give you a date, or we offer a tutor who covers the half of the syllabus your child needs and we name the half they do not. No competitor in this market discloses a coverage limit. It is the single piece of information a parent most needs and least often gets.

05

The costs around 0680 that nobody quotes you

Tutoring is rarely the only line item, and the others are worth knowing before a budget is set. The largest context figure is school fees, and for 2026-27 it is fixed: KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there will be no increase in school fees for private schools in Dubai for the coming academic year, under the emirate's second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion of AED 2.5 billion in total. Against a term's fees, a four-session technique block is a small item and a term of weekly support is not.

Exam entry is the cost families most often discover late. If a student is entered through their own school, the fee usually sits inside the school's charges. If they are entering as a private candidate - for a resit, or because their school does not offer 0680 - the entry fee is set by the exam centre, varies between centres, and is not something a tutoring provider should be quoting. Ask the centre directly, in writing, and ask about 0680 by name rather than about IGCSEs in general.

There is a related expense with no invoice: the cost of a wrong series. Cambridge allocates every exam centre to one of six administrative zones and states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for the centre's zone, adding that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong zone timetable. A family revising to a timetable downloaded from a search result rather than confirmed by their school is risking the entry fee and the year.

Finally, the costs that should not exist. No tutoring provider should be charging for a syllabus document, a past paper or a mark scheme; those are Cambridge's copyright material and the official route runs through the school's exams officer. Nobody should be charging for an equivalency or attestation service they do not perform - the Ministry of Education's processes are the Ministry's, and a tutoring company describing them is not conducting them. And nothing should be sold on the basis of a promised grade, which no tutor can deliver.

Two students, one session: when sharing a 0680 hour works

Splitting a session is the most effective way for a Dubai family to cut the cost per child, and it works for some 0680 work and fails for other parts of it. Worth setting out honestly, because the providers who sell shared sessions rarely explain where the value goes.

It works well for Paper 2 technique. Two students at a similar standard working the same resource booklet produce a better session than one student would, because describing a trend out loud and hearing another attempt at the same question is genuinely useful, and the marking review benefits from comparing two scripts against the same criterion. Cost per family roughly halves and the teaching does not degrade. Pairs of siblings in the same year group, or two classmates, are the natural case.

It works badly for topic repair, because the whole point of topic repair is that the gap is specific to the student. One child needs oceans and fisheries built from nothing; the other needs rocks and minerals. An hour split between those two requests gives each child half a session at full attention and the price saving is not real. We will say that rather than take the booking and let the family discover it in week three.

The structure that works best for larger Dubai households is not sharing at all but alternating. Two children on the same weekly online slot in alternate weeks, with the same tutor, costs the same as one child's weekly support, keeps both diagnoses separate, and halves the household's total compared with two in-home visits. It is less tidy than a group package and it is usually better value, and for families in Mirdif or Al Warqa with three children in secondary school it is the arrangement we recommend most often.

07

What changes about safeguarding when the tutor is not in your house

This is a cost in a different currency and it belongs in a page about hiring a home tutor. Inviting an adult into your home to work alone with a teenager is a decision with a safeguarding dimension that nobody in this market discusses, and so is the alternative. Both deserve stating plainly rather than being left as an unspoken preference.

For an in-home arrangement, the questions worth asking are concrete: who is this person, what checks exist on them, who else knows the session is happening, and is there an adult elsewhere in the home. The regulatory backdrop is relevant too. Individuals providing private tutoring in the UAE need a MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years, and the permit carries a code of conduct. Abu Dhabi's professional-ethics rules for school staff additionally bar teachers from paid private tutoring of students at their own school, which is worth knowing as a general direction even though it is an Abu Dhabi rule and should be verified against the current ADEK policy document.

For an online arrangement, the shape of the risk is different and the mitigations are more available. Sessions happen on a platform rather than in a private room, a parent can be in earshot without being in the room, the tutor and student are never alone in a physical space, and there is a record of when sessions happened. What a family should ask instead is about data: what personal information about their child is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted. UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection sits behind those questions, and a lead form that asks for a child's school, grades and photograph without stating a purpose is a reasonable thing to refuse to complete.

Our own position: we collect what is needed to match a tutor and run a session, we keep a privacy link on every page, and we do not ask for a child's photograph. Sessions are one-to-one over live video and we are explicit that no adult is dispatched to a UAE address. That is not presented as a safeguarding product; it is simply the honest description of a format whose risk profile differs from the one this search term implies.

08

What we will not do at any price

A page about cost should be clear about what is not for sale, because several things that are sold in this search result should not be. The first is a grade. No tutor can promise one, and any provider offering a certain 7, a promised grade improvement or money back linked to a result is making a claim they cannot stand behind. The softer version is a statistic with no sample, date or method behind it, and it deserves the same scepticism.

The second is borrowed authority. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform. We hold no approval, accreditation, licence or partnership from KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE, Cambridge or the IB, and we operate no centre or office in the UAE. A tutoring business with premises and staff in Dubai needs a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, which is a specific thing issued to institutes with physical premises, and any provider attaching a regulator's name to itself as an endorsement is making a claim worth checking.

The third is exam material. Cambridge past papers, mark schemes and syllabus documents are copyright, and we do not reproduce or distribute them at any price. The official route runs through your child's school and its exams officer. In sessions we teach against what the student legitimately holds and build equivalent data questions from published sources - UAE water, energy and population statistics are ideal for this - when fresh material is needed.

The fourth is the arrangement families sometimes ask for directly: your child's own classroom teacher, hired privately. It is the wrong arrangement on principle, the MoHRE permit's code of conduct bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school, and Abu Dhabi's professional-ethics rules for school staff prohibit it outright for teachers in that emirate. We will not broker it. What we will do is match a tutor who has taught the syllabus, show you the published market bands, quote in AED with the inclusions written down, and tell you when the specialist you need is not free this week.

Where we tutor

The drive, community by community

This is where an in-home rate comes from. The teaching is identical everywhere; what varies is how much car sits inside the hour and whether any 0680 specialist is within reach at all.

Arabian Ranches and Arabian Ranches 2

Twenty-five to forty minutes from the Al Barsha tutor corridor outside peak, considerably more at 4.30pm. Villa families here see the widest spread between in-home and online quotes for the same calibre of tutor, and the fewest 0680 specialists inside a sensible radius.

Town Square and Dubai South

The far edge of most tutors' travel range. Some decline the journey outright and others add a surcharge that never appears as a line on the invoice. For a thin subject the practical answer here is often that no local 0680 specialist exists at any rate.

Al Khawaneej and Mushrif

A long eastern run from the school corridor, and awkward in both directions. Families here commonly end up with a generalist who covers five subjects rather than a 0680 specialist, because the specialist will not make the drive for one hour.

Mudon and Remraam

Dubailand communities with growing secondary cohorts and limited local tutoring supply. Online removes the travel surcharge entirely, which matters more here than almost anywhere else in the emirate for a subject with this little local provision.

Al Barsha South and Dubai Hills

Close to the deepest tutor supply in Dubai, so in-home rates here sit at the lower end of the published band. Even so, the choice is between a nearby generalist and a specialist who has taught both 0680 papers, and proximity does not resolve that.

Jumeirah Park and Jumeirah Village Triangle

Mid-range distances with unpredictable evening traffic around Al Khail. Shorter, more frequent sessions make sense for data-technique work, and a 45-minute online slot is economically sensible in a way a 45-minute visit never is.

International City and Warsan

Highly price-sensitive communities where the budget online band of AED 33 to 65 is marketed hardest. For 0680 specifically that band rarely contains anyone who has taught the syllabus, which makes the question of what a cheap hour contains especially worth asking here.

Dubai Festival City and Ras Al Khor

Central and reachable, with the protected wetland next door as a genuine 0680 case study. In-home supply is reasonable; the constraint is still whether the available tutor knows the oceans, fisheries and ecosystems half of the syllabus or only the physical half.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dubai

Dubailand, Arabian Ranches and Motor City

Community schools with young secondary cohorts and small Year 11 groups, which thins both class time for 0680 and the pool of local teachers who have taught it fully. Families we support in this cluster are the most consistent users of online delivery, because the in-home alternative often does not exist.

  • Jumeirah English Speaking School Arabian Ranches
  • GEMS Metropole School
  • Hartland International School
  • Repton Dubai
  • Dubai Heights Academy

Al Barsha, Al Sufouh and Jumeirah

The emirate's deepest tutoring supply and therefore its most competitive in-home pricing. Students we support here usually have good content knowledge from a full science department and come to us for Paper 2 resource-booklet technique rather than for topic coverage.

  • GEMS Wellington International School
  • Kings' School Al Barsha
  • Jumeirah College
  • Safa British School
  • Dubai British School Jumeirah Park

Mirdif, Al Warqa and Dubai Festival City

Large sibling groups and tight budgets, where cost per household matters more than cost per hour. Two children on alternating weekly online slots with the same tutor is a common and considerably cheaper structure than two separate in-home visits.

  • Uptown International School
  • Dubai English Speaking College
  • Credence High School
  • GEMS FirstPoint School
  • Deira International School

Schools are named only as context for the Dubai schooling market. IB Gram has no affiliation, partnership, approval or endorsement relationship with any school, school group or regulator mentioned on this page.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Say where you are and what you were quoted

The community and any in-home figure you have been offered. We will tell you what the published bands say for that format and whether the premium you are being asked for is travel, scarcity or neither, before we talk about our own sessions at all.

  2. 02

Send a marked script, not a description

A mock paper with marks on it tells a tutor in five minutes what a phone call cannot establish in thirty. The diagnosis that comes back names the fault - arithmetic, command terms, Paper 2 procedure, evaluation structure or genuine gaps - and the sessions each one needs.

  3. 03

    Take the free trial lesson

One session at no cost before any payment, with no card details required to book it. Your child works a real data question and you receive a written note on what is actually losing the marks, whether or not you continue with us afterwards.

  4. 04

Get the scope in AED and in writing

Rate, session length, how many sessions, what is included between them, cancellation notice and whether a missed session is chargeable. Any condition attached to the trial is stated with it. Nothing renews automatically.

  5. 05

Decide whether to share or alternate

If there are two children or a willing classmate, we will tell you honestly which parts of the work share well - Paper 2 technique does - and which do not. For most Dubai households alternating weekly slots beats a shared hour.

  6. 06

Stop at the evidence, not at the renewal date

When the error list on timed data questions has cleared and the weak topic area tests clean, the block ends and you stop paying. We write a handover note for the school's 0680 teacher. A plan with no finish condition is a subscription.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

We price the drive openly

An in-home hour in Dubai carries 25 to 45 minutes of travel each way, recovered through the rate whether or not the invoice names it. Our sessions are online, so the money buys teaching time. Home visits are a service we run only in India, and we say so in the first screen.

Budgets built on faults, not packages

Arithmetic, command terms, Paper 2 procedure, evaluation structure, topic gaps. Each costs a different number of sessions, and the tables above show the arithmetic so you can see a total rather than compare hourly rates blind.

Figures attributed, with the month we read them

Bestimate, Unitors, TutorChase, Tutopiya, EdFlik, BartyED. Every AED band on this page names its source. No page currently ranking for this query cites a source for a single figure and three publish no figure at all.

We disclose when we cannot cover 0680

The emirate's 0680 teaching population is small and committed by February. When nobody who has taught both papers is free, we give you a date or name the half of the syllabus the available tutor does not cover. Nobody else in this market publishes a coverage limit.

Data handled narrowly, and no photographs

We collect what a match and a session need, keep a privacy link on every page, and do not ask for a child's photograph. UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection is the backdrop, and a form with no stated purpose is one to refuse.

Nothing sold that cannot be stood behind

No promised grade, no statistic without a sample and method, no regulator's name attached to us as an endorsement, no Cambridge papers distributed, and no brokering of a child's own teacher for private hire.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dubai: your questions answered

How much does a Cambridge IGCSE Environmental Management 0680 home tutor cost in Dubai?+

Published in-home one-to-one rates in Dubai run from AED 180 to 350 an hour in Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 table, with independent home tutors advertising up to AED 500, and monthly in-home packages marketed at AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour sessions. For 0680 specifically expect the upper half of those bands, because the emirate's teaching population in this subject is small. IB Gram does not sell home visits in the UAE; our equivalent online one-to-one sits in the published AED 150 to 450 range depending on whether you need a generalist or a full-syllabus specialist.

Why is an in-home 0680 hour more expensive than an online one?+

Because the hour contains a drive. A tutor reaching a villa in Arabian Ranches or Town Square at 4.30pm spends fifty to ninety minutes in a car for sixty minutes of teaching, and that unpaid time is recovered through the rate. The premium over a comparable online figure runs roughly AED 50 to 150 an hour depending on distance. What it buys is physical presence, not better teaching. For a subject assessed by two written papers with no practical and no coursework, presence is rarely the thing that was missing.

Which Dubai communities have no 0680 specialist within reach?+

Tutoring supply in this city clusters between Al Sufouh, Al Barsha and Dubai Hills, where most of the long-established British-curriculum secondaries sit. Town Square, Dubai South, Al Khawaneej, Mushrif, Mudon and Remraam are all far enough from that corridor that many tutors decline the journey outright for a single hour. For a thin subject like Environmental Management that frequently means the candidate pool within a twenty-minute radius is zero, and the family ends up hiring a general science tutor rather than someone who has taught the syllabus.

Is a monthly in-home 0680 package at AED 1,599 good value?+

It depends on what else is in it. Advertised Dubai in-home packages at AED 1,599 to 1,799 typically cover four two-hour sessions a month, which is eight teaching hours and four round trips. Per hour that is competitive against the top of the in-home band. The things to check before committing are whether unused sessions expire, whether the package renews automatically, whether the two-hour block suits a Year 11 student arriving from school, and whether the tutor has taught both 0680 papers or only the half of the syllabus their own subject covers.

How many sessions will my child need for 0680, and what will that total cost?+

It depends on the fault, which is why we diagnose before quoting. Arithmetic on data questions is one or two sessions. Command-term discipline is three or four. Paper 2 procedure is four to six. One weak third of the syllabus is five to eight. The whole physical half missing is eight to sixteen across a term. Priced against the published specialist band of AED 200 to 450 an hour, that runs from roughly AED 400 for the narrowest fix to AED 7,200 for a full rebuild. Send a marked script and you get the session count in writing.

Can we split a 0680 session between two children to halve the cost?+

For Paper 2 technique, yes, and it often improves the session: two students working the same resource booklet learn from hearing each other describe a trend, and comparing two scripts against one criterion is genuinely useful. For topic repair it fails, because one child needs oceans and fisheries built from nothing and the other needs rocks and minerals, so each gets half a session and the saving is not real. For most Dubai households with two secondary children, alternating weekly slots with the same tutor is better value than sharing an hour.

Does a lower hourly rate mean the 0680 tutor has no MoHRE permit?+

No, and this is widely misunderstood. The MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years, so it adds nothing to a tutor's costs and cannot be inferred from a rate in either direction. Individuals tutoring without a permit are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule is published, so treat any specific figure circulating online as unverified. Ask the permit question separately from the price question, and ask it directly.

What should I ask before letting a tutor into our villa in Dubai?+

Concrete things: who the person is, what checks exist on them, whether they hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit, who else knows the session is happening, and whether another adult will be elsewhere in the home. Avoid the arrangement families sometimes seek deliberately - your child's own classroom teacher, hired privately - because the MoHRE permit's code of conduct bars serving students affiliated with the tutor's own school, and Abu Dhabi's professional-ethics rules prohibit it for school staff in that emirate. IB Gram does not place tutors in UAE homes at all.

What personal data do you collect about my child for 0680 tutoring?+

What a match and a session need: the year group, the school, the syllabus, the specific difficulty, and a contact for the parent. We do not ask for a child's photograph, and we keep a privacy link on every page explaining what is held and how to have it removed. UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection is the backdrop here, and the practical advice we would give about any provider, including us, is to decline a lead form that asks for a child's grades, school and photograph without stating why it needs them.

Do 0680 rates in Dubai rise before the Cambridge exam series?+

The headline figure usually holds; availability is what changes, and in a thin subject that has the same practical effect. Dubai schools cluster mock examinations in January, and Year 11 demand across the emirate peaks immediately afterwards. By February the handful of people in this city who have taught both 0680 papers are committed, so the family buying then pays the specialist band for whoever remains. Booking in Term 1 costs the same per hour and gets a materially better match, which is the strongest financial argument for not waiting.

What does 0680 exam entry cost if my child sits it as a private candidate?+

The entry fee is set by the exam centre rather than by Cambridge or by any tutoring provider, and it varies between centres in Dubai, so we will not quote a figure. Contact centres directly, in writing, and ask specifically about 0680 rather than about IGCSEs generally, because what each centre accepts by syllabus differs. One related point worth confirming at the same time: Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones, and the correct zone timetable is the one your child must revise to.

Is 0680 tutoring worth the money if my child is already predicted a grade 6?+

Often yes, and for a specific reason. The gap between a 6 and an 8 in this subject is usually Paper 2 procedure and evaluation structure rather than content, and those are the cheapest faults on the syllabus to fix - four to six sessions and two to three sessions respectively. A student predicted a 6 who knows the topics is the best-value case in 0680 tutoring. A student who is missing half the syllabus in April is the worst, and we will tell you that rather than sell a block that cannot deliver.

Will you sell us Cambridge 0680 past papers and mark schemes?+

No, at any price. Cambridge holds the copyright on past papers, mark schemes and syllabus documents, and distributing them is not ours to do. The official route is through your child's school and its exams officer, and the current syllabus lives on cambridgeinternational.org. In sessions we teach against the material the student legitimately holds, and where new material is needed we build equivalent data questions from published sources such as UAE water, energy and population statistics. A question the student has not seen before is the only honest test of the Paper 2 skill anyway.

How does 0680 tutoring spend compare with Dubai school fees?+

A four-session technique block at the published specialist band is a small fraction of a term's fees; a term of weekly support is not, and deserves a harder question about whether this is the subject that most needs the money. One fixed point helps the 2026-27 sum: KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that private school fees in Dubai will not increase for the academic year, under the emirate's AED 1.5 billion economic incentives package. Before spending, ask the school what 0680 intervention it already runs inside those fees.

Get the number and the session count together

Tell us your community and any in-home figure you have been quoted, and send a marked mock script. You will get back what the published Dubai bands say for that format, a named fault in your child's 0680 work, and the number of sessions that fault takes - in writing, in AED, before anything is paid for. Then take the free trial lesson, which needs no card details. Sessions are one-to-one online over live video in Gulf Standard Time, with the resource booklet shared on screen. Home visits remain a service we run only in India.
