IGCSE Tutor near me in Jumeirah 3

Parents searching for an IGCSE tutor near me in Jumeirah 3 are almost always counting weeks, not kilometres. This page is built around the calendar: which series your child is entered for, how many teaching weeks are left before the papers, what each of those weeks has to achieve, and when the entry and results dates actually fall. Lessons are one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, so the week before a mock does not also have to contain somebody's drive down Jumeirah Beach Road.

  • Cambridge and Pearson series mapped to the term you are in now
  • Entry, exam and results windows cited from the boards' own pages
  • Eight-week plans with a stated test of whether each week worked
  • First lesson free, with no card details and no minimum term

IB & IGCSE in Jumeirah 3

Start from the date on the timetable, not the distance to the tutor

The phrase typed into Google is about proximity, but the problem behind it rarely is. A parent in Jumeirah 3 searching for an IGCSE tutor near me is usually looking at a report, a mock mark or a teacher's comment, and working out how many weeks remain before something irreversible happens. The useful first question is not who lives nearby. It is which series your child is entered for, which board sets it, and how many teaching weeks sit between today and the first paper.

Those three answers change everything that follows. A Year 11 student entered for the June series has two full terms and a mock window; a candidate re-sitting in the November series has a compressed run with results arriving in January. Cambridge International runs IGCSE, O Level and International A Level examinations in a June series and a November series, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE examinations are available in May and June and in November each year. UAE candidates sit those two windows. There is no third option to plan around.

The dates that can be stated are worth stating, because no competitor page in this market names a session at all. Pearson's final November 2026 International GCSE timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026. June 2026 results went to centres on 19 August 2026 and to students on 20 August 2026, and November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026. Pearson also publishes a provisional timetable more than a year ahead of each series and then revises it as centres confirm arrangements, which is why any plan should be checked against the live official timetable rather than against a date copied from a page like this one.

Once the date is fixed, the work divides cleanly. There are weeks for content, weeks for timed practice, and a final stretch that is almost entirely about paper technique and triage. Families who buy tutoring without that division tend to spend the whole period on content, arrive at the paper having never sat one under time, and lose marks that had nothing to do with knowledge. The eight-week plan further down this page exists to stop exactly that, and it carries a weekly test so a parent can see whether the money is doing anything. If the mark on a timed question has not moved after two consecutive sessions, the plan is wrong and should be changed rather than repeated.

Everything here is delivered one-to-one online over live video, timed to Gulf Standard Time around the Jumeirah school run. IB Gram does not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE; home visiting is a service we run only in India. In a term governed by deadlines that turns out to matter: a session scheduled for 5.15pm on a Tuesday in the week before a mock starts at 5.15pm, rather than whenever the traffic on Al Wasl Road allows.

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Cambridge IGCSE

Two-year courses identified by four-digit syllabus codes: Mathematics 0580, International Mathematics 0607, Physics 0625, Chemistry 0620, Biology 0610, Co-ordinated Sciences 0654, First Language English 0500 and 0990, English as a Second Language 0510 and 0511. Several subjects are tiered into Core and Extended, which caps the available grade, so the tier is a decision with consequences and is made at entry.

Cambridge allocates every examination centre to one of six administrative zones and states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for your zone, adding that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an examination after using the wrong one. For a Dubai family that is a concrete instruction: get the zone-specific timetable from your school's exams officer, not from a general web search.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE

The same qualification level as Cambridge IGCSE with a different paper structure and different codes: Mathematics 4MA1, Physics 4PH1, Chemistry 4CH1, Biology 4BI1, English Language 4EA1, Economics 4EC1. Some subjects can be taken in a modular pattern rather than all at the end, which changes when a student is examined and therefore when tutoring is most useful.

Pearson publishes its International GCSE timetables and provisional timetables on its own support pages, and the November 2026 final timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026. Dubai schools entering candidates for November use that window, with results reaching students the following January, so a re-sit decision taken in August is already working to a deadline.

IB Diploma Programme

The two-year route many Dubai IGCSE students take at 16: six subjects across Higher and Standard Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service. IGCSE grades usually decide whether a subject can be taken at Higher Level, which is why the last term of Year 11 has consequences well beyond the certificate.

UAE schools sit the May session. IB examination and results dates are not published on this page because ibo.org blocks automated checking and no IB date here has been confirmed from the IB itself; your school's IB coordinator holds the authoritative version and should be asked directly.

ALAges 16-18 · Years 12 and 13

A Level and post-16 routes

The alternative continuation from IGCSE in Dubai's British-curriculum schools, with subject entry conditions typically expressed as IGCSE grades. Cambridge International A Level examinations also run in June and November series, which means a candidate who misses a grade in June has a defined route rather than a lost year.

Because both the IB Diploma and A Level entry conditions are expressed in IGCSE grades, the practical value of the last eight weeks of Year 11 in Jumeirah 3 is often a post-16 subject choice rather than the certificate itself. That is worth saying out loud to a sixteen-year-old who has stopped seeing the point.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

IGCSE tutoring only works if it is pinned to the exact syllabus code the school entered, because the mark scheme belongs to the board and not to the subject. These are the codes Dubai families ask for most, with the part of each that the final term decides.

Mathematics (Cambridge 0580, Pearson 4MA1)

Core and Extended; Foundation and Higher

The tier decision caps the grade, so confirm it before planning anything. In the final weeks the marks sit in multi-step problems, correct use of a calculator, and showing method where the mark scheme awards it. Students who only practise topic exercises arrive unable to triage a full paper.

International Mathematics (Cambridge 0607)

Core and Extended

A different syllabus from 0580 with a graphic-display-calculator expectation and an investigation element. Several Dubai IB continuum schools enter 0607 rather than 0580, and tutoring built for the wrong code wastes the term. Check the code on the entry confirmation, not the textbook cover.

Physics (Cambridge 0625, Pearson 4PH1)

Core and Extended; single award

Electricity and electromagnetism are where the final-term marks move most, along with the practical-skills paper where candidates lose marks for describing a method without naming the controlled variable. Formula recall is necessary but rarely the binding constraint by this point.

Chemistry (Cambridge 0620, Pearson 4CH1)

Core and Extended

Moles and stoichiometry, then organic chemistry and the qualitative-analysis tests. The common late-term failure is calculation presentation: the right answer with no working, or units dropped. A fortnight of marked calculation practice usually moves more marks than a fortnight of revision notes.

Biology (Cambridge 0610, Pearson 4BI1)

Core and Extended

Content-heavy, which tempts students into reading rather than writing. Marks are lost on command terms: describe against explain, and the difference between a trend and a reason. Practising answer length against the mark allocation is the single most transferable late fix.

Co-ordinated and Combined Sciences (Cambridge 0654, 0653)

Double and single award

Three sciences compressed into one or two grades, with a different balance of content from the separate sciences. Families frequently book three separate science tutors for a child entered for a co-ordinated award, which costs three times as much as it needs to and covers material not on the paper.

First Language English (Cambridge 0500, 0990)

Extended only

Directed writing and composition, with reading responses marked for selection and inference rather than for summary. Timed practice with a marked response is the whole of the useful work in the last eight weeks; vocabulary building is a Year 10 activity, not a Year 11 one.

English as a Second Language (Cambridge 0510, 0511)

Core and Extended

Different paper structure from First Language English and a different mark scheme, with a speaking component in 0511. Students moved into the UAE mid-course are sometimes entered for the wrong one of the two; the fix is a conversation with the school, not a tutor.

Economics and Business Studies (Cambridge 0455, 0450)

Extended

Both reward structure over content in the extended-response questions: definition, explanation, application to the stimulus, evaluation. Dubai students typically arrive strong on definitions and weak on evaluation, which is the band where the available marks sit.

Geography and History (Cambridge 0460, 0470)

Extended

Case-study recall plus source handling. In the last stretch the efficient work is building two or three reliable case studies to the standard the mark scheme wants, rather than a thin pass over every unit in the specification.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three formats cover the calendar-driven requests that come from this part of the coast. All of them are delivered online over live video; what differs is how they sit against the exam date.

Eight-week run to a paper

A fixed block counted backwards from the examination date, with the content weeks, the timed-practice weeks and the technique weeks agreed before the first session. Because the block has an end date it can be budgeted exactly, which is the opposite of an open-ended weekly booking that quietly renews from October to June.

  • Session count fixed in advance against the paper date
  • Weekly target stated as marks on a timed question
  • Ends when the paper is sat, with no rollover
  • Suits a mock result that arrived late in the course

Full-year weekly support

One hour a week across Year 10 and Year 11, built on the specification rather than on whatever homework arrived that evening. This is the format that prevents the panicked eight-week block, and over two years it costs substantially less than a year of weekly tuition plus a crash course in the final term.

  • Specification coverage mapped across the two years
  • Past-paper questions introduced from Year 10, not Year 11
  • Mock results used as a checkpoint, not as an alarm
  • Reviewed each term against the specification, not the textbook

Re-sit planning after results

Work built around a results date rather than an exam date: reading the statement of results, deciding whether a re-sit in the next available series is worth entering, and if so what the gap actually is. Both Cambridge and Pearson run June and November series, so a missed grade has a defined route.

  • Starts from the mark breakdown, not the overall grade
  • Entry deadline identified before any teaching is booked
  • Targets the specific paper that lost the grade
  • Honest about when a re-sit is not worth the term

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Jumeirah 3

01

What an IGCSE tutor near me in Jumeirah 3 can and cannot change in the time left

  • Two terms left: specification coverage plus technique, and a tier conversation if needed
  • Eight weeks left: high-frequency topics, timed papers, triage
  • Two weeks left: timing, command terms, and never leaving a question blank
  • Before anything: confirm board, syllabus code and tier from the entry confirmation

Start with the honest version. With two terms left, almost anything on the specification is reachable, including a tier change if the school agrees to it before entries close. With eight weeks left, content gaps can be closed selectively but not comprehensively, and the best return comes from paper technique, question triage and the three or four topics that appear on every paper. With two weeks left, the only things that move are timing, command-term discipline and not leaving questions blank.

That is a less comfortable message than the one most tutoring pages carry, and it is more useful. A family in Jumeirah 3 who understands which of those three situations they are in buys the right thing. A family who does not usually buys content revision in all three, which is the correct purchase in only the first.

The second question to settle is the board and the code. A Cambridge 0580 candidate and a Cambridge 0607 candidate are sitting different papers with different expectations about calculator use; a Pearson 4MA1 candidate sits a different structure again. The entry confirmation from the school's exams officer holds the authoritative answer. We ask for it before the first session because starting on the wrong code wastes a week nobody has to spare.

The third is the tier, where it applies. Cambridge tiers several subjects into Core and Extended, and the tier caps the grade available. A student working hard towards a grade that the entry does not permit is a specific and avoidable kind of waste, and it is discovered more often than it should be, usually in the final term.

02

The IGCSE calendar counted backwards

No page ranking for Dubai IGCSE tutoring names an examination series, an entry deadline or a results date. That is strange, because the calendar is the only part of the process with hard edges, and almost every decision a parent makes in Year 11 is really a decision about a date. The table below is built backwards from the paper, with each milestone attributed to whoever actually controls it.

Two things in it are worth reading twice. The first is that the entry deadline sits months before the examination, and the school's internal cut-off sits earlier still, so a decision about tier or board taken in the final term is usually too late to act on. The second is the gap between sitting a paper and being told the result: November 2025 International GCSE results reached students on 22 January 2026, which means a November candidate spends most of a term not knowing.

The verified Pearson dates are these. The final November 2026 International GCSE timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026. June 2026 results went to centres on 19 August 2026 and to students on 20 August 2026. Pearson publishes a provisional timetable for every International GCSE series long before it runs, so dates can be revised at short notice and the live official timetable is the only version worth planning around.

For Cambridge, treat June as the main series and November as the resit route in the UAE. Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones, states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for your zone, and says it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an examination after using the wrong timetable. Ask your exams officer which zone your centre sits in and get that version in writing.

Eight weeks, week by week, with a test for each one

Eight weeks is the most common length of a late IGCSE booking in Dubai, usually because a mock mark arrived and somebody decided to act. Eight weeks is enough to change a grade, and it is not enough to cover a specification, so the plan has to decide what it is not doing. The version below allocates two weeks to diagnosis and high-frequency content, four to timed practice on the paper that is losing marks, and two to technique and triage.

Each week carries a test, because without one a block of eight sessions produces eight pleasant conversations and no evidence. The test is always a mark on a timed question, written by the student alone and marked against the board's scheme. If the number does not move across two consecutive weeks, something in the plan is wrong and it is better to know in week three than in week eight.

The plan assumes one hour a week of tuition plus two to three hours of the student's own timed work. That ratio matters more than the tutoring itself. A tutor who sets no independent timed work in the final eight weeks is not running an exam block; they are running a conversation, and a parent paying market rates for it is buying the wrong thing.

Jumeirah 3 families should build the school calendar into this before week one. Dubai half-term breaks and the Ramadan timetable both change what a week can hold, and a block that assumes eight uninterrupted weeks will usually get six. Plan for six and treat the other two as spare.

What the final stretch costs in Dubai, counted as a total

Hourly rates are the wrong unit for an exam block. What a family in Jumeirah 3 actually wants to know is the total: eight sessions, or sixteen, or thirty, and what that comes to. Setting it out that way also makes the trade-offs visible, because the difference between a generalist and a subject specialist across eight hours is a few hundred dirhams, while across a full year of weekly tuition it is several thousand.

The published market bands are these. EdFlik advertises budget online tutoring from AED 45 to 65 an hour and Tutopiya from AED 33 to 52. Unitors publishes online rates from AED 150 for IGCSE. TutorChase publishes AED 270. Bestimate's 2026 Dubai rate table puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to 350 and a subject specialist at AED 200 to 450 and upwards, with independent home tutors quoted as high as AED 500. BartyED publishes AED 650 at the premium end. Those are market figures from each provider's own material, not an IB Gram price list.

Multiply them out and the picture changes. An eight-week block at one hour a week with a qualified subject teacher in the AED 150 to 300 band is roughly AED 1,200 to 2,400 in total, which is less than two months of the in-home monthly packages circulating in Dubai at AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour visits. Measured against a grade that decides a post-16 subject choice, the eight-week total is usually the easier number for a family to justify than the hourly rate ever is.

One figure belongs in the context. KHDA confirmed in May 2026 that there would be no increase in private school fees in Dubai for the 2026-27 academic year, under the emirate's second economic incentives package. A flat fee year is the natural moment to decide how much of the household education budget should go to a targeted exam block rather than to open-ended monthly tuition.

Zones, entries and the administrative mistakes that cost grades

  • Ask which of the six Cambridge administrative zones your centre is allocated to
  • Get the entry confirmation in writing: code, tier, components, candidate name
  • Private candidates must meet the chosen centre's own, earlier, deadline
  • Keep timetable, entries, coursework dates and results dates in one place

A small number of IGCSE failures in the UAE have nothing to do with teaching. They are administrative, and they are entirely preventable by a parent who asks three questions in October rather than in May. The first concerns the timetable. Cambridge allocates every examination centre to one of six administrative zones, states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for the zone, and says plainly that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an examination because the wrong timetable was used. A timetable found through a general search may belong to a different zone.

The second concerns the entry itself. Parents are rarely given a copy of what the school submitted, and the details that matter are the ones that are easy to get wrong: the syllabus code, the tier where the subject is tiered, the components entered, and the candidate's name exactly as it will appear on the certificate. Asking the exams officer for the entry confirmation in writing takes one email and resolves disputes that otherwise surface after results.

The third concerns private candidates. A student not entered through their own school, which happens after a mid-year move or when a subject is dropped and later picked up, must find an approved centre and meet that centre's own earlier deadline. Centres also charge their own administrative fees on top of the board entry fee. None of this is difficult, and all of it takes longer than families expect.

A practical habit for Jumeirah 3 households: keep one folder with the entry confirmation, the zone-specific timetable, the coursework deadlines the school has set, and the results dates. Everything in that folder is free, and it prevents the category of problem that no amount of tutoring can fix after the fact.

06

Ramadan, half-terms and the Dubai school year against the exam window

  • Plan an eight-week block assuming six usable weeks, not eight
  • Ramadan slots: early afternoon after a shortened day, or after Iftar
  • The winter break is the best timed-paper window for a June candidate
  • First dependable weekday slot from Jumeirah 3 in term time: around 4.45pm

Any plan drawn up in a Dubai October meets three interruptions before the papers arrive, and a block that ignores them loses a quarter of its sessions. School terms in the emirate carry their own break structure, the winter break removes a working fortnight from most revision plans, and Ramadan shortens school hours and moves the useful study window.

During Ramadan the practical tutoring slots move either to the early afternoon, once a shortened school day has ended, or to after Iftar. Both work over live video. Neither works reliably if somebody has to drive, because the roads either side of Iftar in Dubai are their own argument for online delivery. Families who plan a post-Iftar slot in advance generally keep the same tutor and the same weekday through the month, which preserves the rhythm a timed-practice block depends on.

The winter break is the other decision point, and it cuts both ways. For a June candidate it is the single best block of uninterrupted time available for timed papers, and two or three sessions across it are worth more than twice that number in a busy February. For a student who has just finished a November series it is a rest, and treating it as a revision window is usually counterproductive.

The last scheduling point is specific to this neighbourhood. Jumeirah 3 school runs put the first dependable weekday slot at around 4.45pm during term, with 5pm to 6pm the window that survives a whole block. In the fortnight before papers, families often move to two shorter sessions a week rather than one long one, which online scheduling makes trivial and a travelling tutor makes expensive.

07

Coursework, past papers and the lines a tutor must not cross

Some IGCSE subjects carry coursework or a practical component, and in the final term those are the pieces most at risk of being over-helped. The rule is the same as it is in the IB: a tutor teaches, explains, models on a different example, and gives feedback on work the student has written. A tutor does not supply sentences to be copied, does not restructure a piece on the student's behalf and does not choose the investigation. The mark belongs to the student or it is worthless.

The same boundary applies to materials. Syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes and grade-boundary tables belong to Cambridge and Pearson. We reference them and link to the boards' own pages rather than reproducing or supplying them, because redistributing them is copyright infringement and, for unreleased material, something considerably worse. Your school's exams officer and the boards' public sites are the right sources, and both are free.

This matters commercially as well as ethically. Research into this search market found a provider selling completed Internal Assessments outright. Any family offered finished work should treat it as a warning about everything else that provider says, because the risk sits entirely with the student, who is the one making a declaration about authorship.

The practical check a parent can run after any coursework session costs nothing. Ask your child what changed and why the mark scheme required it. A student who can answer has been taught. A student who cannot has been given something, and it will not survive a conversation with their teacher.

08

Booking this week, if the paper is close

  • Bring the marked mock script, not the grade summary
  • Bring the entry confirmation: board, syllabus code, tier, components
  • Count real teaching weeks, subtracting breaks and the Ramadan shift
  • Use the free trial as a diagnosis, and expect a ranked list of marks lost

If the examination is near, the sequence matters more than the deliberation. Get the mock script or the most recent marked paper, not the grade. Get the entry confirmation with the board, syllabus code and tier. Count the teaching weeks remaining, subtracting the breaks. Those three items take an evening to assemble and they turn a vague request for a tutor near Jumeirah 3 into a brief any competent subject teacher can act on immediately.

Then use the free trial lesson for diagnosis rather than for introductions. A good first session with a mock script in hand produces a ranked list of the topics costing the most marks and an honest statement of what is reachable in the time left. If a trial produces only encouragement, the tutor has not done the work, and you have the information you needed about whether to continue.

Expect us to be specific about availability. Matching is done on who can teach that board and code at the hour you want on Gulf Standard Time. For a narrow combination close to a paper date, the honest answer is sometimes a different weekday or a short wait, and we say so rather than putting a generalist into an exam block where the whole value depends on knowing the mark scheme.

Two sessions a week is often better than one in the last fortnight, and stopping entirely in the final two days is almost always right. The most common late mistake in this market is buying more hours in the last week, when the student needs sleep and a clear structure far more than they need another lesson.

Where we tutor

Areas served on the same terms as Jumeirah 3

Jumeirah 3 runs west from Jumeirah 2 along the beach road towards Umm Suqeim, with Al Safa and Al Manara inland. Because lessons are delivered online, each area below is served identically; the only variable is the hour a family wants and how the school run affects it.

Jumeirah 2

Immediately east along the same spine. Shorter runs back from the nearer schools, so a 4.30pm start holds up more often than it does further west.

Jumeirah 1

The oldest stretch of the corridor, with the densest school provision and the earliest realistic session slot during the exam term.

Umm Suqeim

The next coastal stretch west, with a heavier IB presence and more enquiries about the IGCSE to Diploma step than about the certificate itself.

Al Safa

Inland of Jumeirah 3 and feeding several British-curriculum schools, which is why November re-sit enquiries from here outnumber those from the IB-heavy areas.

Al Manara

Quieter and further from the beach road, where a 7pm slot is often requested because both parents are commuting back from Business Bay or DIFC.

Al Wasl

Directly inland along Al Wasl Road. Households here frequently run an IGCSE candidate and a younger sibling in the same week and want consecutive slots.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Jumeirah 3

British-curriculum schools near Jumeirah 3

These schools run IGCSE at 16 and then split into A Level or the IB Diploma. They are named to describe the cohort our tutors teach and the regulator that inspects them, nothing more; the board and syllabus code still have to come from your own entry confirmation.

  • Jumeirah English Speaking School
  • Jumeirah College
  • Horizon English School
  • Safa British School
  • Kings' School Dubai
  • Dubai College
  • Latifa School for Girls

IB continuum and international schools within reach

Some of these enter students for Cambridge International Mathematics 0607 rather than 0580, or run MYP to Diploma without an IGCSE year at all. That distinction decides whether this page is the right one for your child.

  • Raffles World Academy
  • Emirates International School Jumeirah
  • Jumeirah Baccalaureate School
  • Star International School Umm Suqeim
  • GEMS Wellington Primary School
  • Dubai International Academy Emirates Hills

Schools are named as context for the Dubai cohort our tutors teach and the regulator that inspects them; no affiliation, partnership or endorsement is implied or held.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

    Fix the date first

We start by establishing which series your child is entered for and how many teaching weeks remain once breaks are removed. Everything else follows from that number. A plan built on a wrong assumption about the series is the most expensive error available in the final term of Year 11.

  2. 02

    Confirm board, code and tier

Cambridge 0580, Cambridge 0607 and Pearson 4MA1 are three different papers. We ask for the school's entry confirmation so the work matches the mark scheme the student will actually be marked against, including the tier where the subject is tiered and the grade ceiling it carries.

  3. 03

    Diagnose from a marked script

The most recent marked paper, question by question, ranked by marks lost. This produces the plan rather than a conversation producing it, and it usually shows that two or three topics account for most of the gap, which is a far cheaper problem than a whole specification.

  4. 04

Run the block with a weekly test

Each session ends with independent timed work, marked against the board's scheme before the next one. The weekly number is the evidence. If it has not moved across two consecutive weeks we change the plan rather than continuing and hoping, and we say so plainly.

  5. 05

    Stop at the right point

Light consolidation in the final week and nothing in the last two days. Buying extra hours immediately before a paper is the most common late mistake in this market; by then the marks come from sleep, structure and knowing the paper's timing, not from more teaching.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The calendar is actually on the page

No competitor page researched in this market names an examination series, an entry deadline or a results date. We publish the verified Pearson windows, state that UAE candidates sit June and November, and link decisions to whoever controls them rather than leaving a parent to guess.

Board and code before teaching

We will not start a block without the entry confirmation. A term spent on Cambridge 0580 material by a candidate entered for 0607 is a term lost, and it happens often enough in Dubai that asking first is the single most valuable thing a tutor can do.

Progress reported as marks

Each week ends with a timed question marked against the board's scheme, so the report to a parent is a number and a breakdown rather than a comment about engagement. That is also what makes it possible to stop early if the number is not moving.

No travel in an exam term

Lessons run one-to-one over live video, so a session in the week before a mock starts when it was scheduled to start. We do not provide home visits in the UAE; home visiting is a service we run only in India, which is why nothing in the rate pays for a car.

Honest about what eight weeks can do

With two terms left a great deal is reachable. With two weeks left, timing and command terms are the realistic targets. Saying which situation a family is in costs us some bookings and saves parents from buying content revision when they need paper technique.

No claims we cannot evidence

We hold no approval, accreditation or partnership from KHDA, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, we publish no statistic without a source, and we do not reproduce or supply boards' past papers and mark schemes.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Jumeirah 3: your questions answered

Which IGCSE exam series do Dubai candidates in Jumeirah 3 actually sit?+

Two. Cambridge International runs IGCSE, O Level and International A Level examinations in a June series and a November series, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE examinations are available in May and June and in November each year. UAE candidates sit those windows, with June as the main series and November commonly used for re-sits. Any plan should be checked against the live official timetable on the board's own site, because provisional timetables are published ahead of each series and dates can be revised before they are finalised.

When did the most recent November IGCSE papers and results actually fall?+

Pearson's final November 2026 International GCSE timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026. For the previous series, November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026, which shows the real gap between sitting a November paper and learning the outcome: most of a term. June results come faster, with June 2026 results going to centres on 19 August 2026 and to students on 20 August 2026. Those are Pearson's own published dates; confirm your own series against the live timetable rather than relying on a date reproduced elsewhere.

Why does my child's exam timetable differ from the one I found online?+

Because Cambridge allocates every examination centre to one of six administrative zones, and each zone has its own version of the timetable. Cambridge states that it is essential to use the correct version for your zone and that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an examination after using the wrong one. A timetable found through a general search may belong to a different zone entirely. Ask your school's exams officer which zone your centre sits in and get that version in writing, then plan revision around it.

Can eight weeks of tutoring realistically change an IGCSE grade?+

Often yes, provided the eight weeks are spent on the right thing. Eight weeks is not enough to cover a specification, so the plan has to pick: usually two weeks of diagnosis and high-frequency content, four weeks of timed papers on the component losing marks, and two weeks of technique and triage. What moves a grade late is almost never new content; it is showing method, reading command terms correctly, managing time across a paper and not leaving questions blank. A block without independent timed work between sessions will not do it.

How much does an eight-week IGCSE block cost in Dubai in total?+

Counted as a total rather than an hourly rate, eight weekly hours with a qualified subject teacher in the published AED 150 to 300 band comes to roughly AED 1,200 to 2,400. Unitors publishes online IGCSE rates from AED 150; TutorChase publishes AED 270; Bestimate's 2026 Dubai table puts a specialist at AED 200 to 450 and upwards. For comparison, in-home monthly packages of AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour visits circulate widely in the emirate. These are market rates from each provider's own material, not an IB Gram price list.

Is there any point hiring a tutor who lives close to Jumeirah 3?+

Proximity helps only if someone has to travel, and in our model nobody does. Lessons are delivered one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, and IB Gram does not provide home visits in the UAE; home visiting is a service we run only in India. The cost of insisting on a nearby tutor is that the search narrows from subject expertise to driving distance, which matters most in the final term when the whole value of the session comes from knowing the board's mark scheme.

My child is entered for Cambridge 0607 rather than 0580. Does that change the tutoring?+

Substantially. Cambridge International Mathematics 0607 is a different syllabus from Mathematics 0580, with a graphic-display-calculator expectation and an investigation element that 0580 does not carry. Several Dubai IB continuum schools enter 0607. Working through 0580 material for a 0607 candidate covers some of the right content with the wrong technique and the wrong paper structure. Check the code on the school's entry confirmation rather than on the textbook, and tell any prospective tutor the code before the first session is booked.

What does Core and Extended mean for the grade my child can get?+

Cambridge tiers several IGCSE subjects into Core and Extended, and the tier caps the grade available: a Core entry cannot reach the top grades however well the paper is answered. The tier is decided at entry, which is usually a term or more before the papers, so a family who discovers it in the final weeks has limited options. If your child is working towards a grade the entry does not permit, that is worth resolving with the school immediately, and it is a conversation rather than a purchase.

Should we book a re-sit before or after the results arrive?+

Prepare the decision before, make it after. Both Cambridge and Pearson run June and November series, so the route exists, but entry deadlines sit well before the examination and sometimes close to the results date of the previous series. Read the mark breakdown rather than the overall grade: a grade missed by two marks on one paper is a different problem from a grade missed across every component. Identify the deadline for the next series first, then decide whether the gap is worth a term.

How do Dubai half-terms and Ramadan affect an exam revision plan?+

They remove weeks, and plans that ignore them lose roughly a quarter of their sessions. Build an eight-week block assuming six usable weeks. During Ramadan the workable slots move to the early afternoon after a shortened school day, or to after Iftar, and both run normally over live video while a travelling tutor becomes unreliable. The winter break is the single best uninterrupted window for timed papers if your child is a June candidate, and is better treated as rest if they have just sat the November series.

What time can an IGCSE session realistically start from Jumeirah 3 during term?+

School days in this corridor end between roughly 2.30pm and 3.30pm and the run home adds twenty to fifty minutes, so around 4.45pm is the first dependable weekday start and 5pm to 6pm is the window that survives a whole block. Later slots at 7pm and 8pm Gulf Standard Time are widely available and often better for households where both parents commute from Business Bay or DIFC. In the fortnight before papers, two shorter sessions a week usually beat one long one.

Can a tutor help with IGCSE coursework and practical write-ups?+

Within clear limits. A tutor may teach the technique, explain what the mark scheme rewards, model the method on a different example and give feedback on work the student has already written. A tutor may not supply sentences to be copied, restructure the piece or choose the investigation. We also do not reproduce or supply syllabus documents, past papers or mark schemes, which belong to Cambridge and Pearson; we link to the boards' own pages instead. The mark has to be the student's or it is worth nothing.

Does a tutor working with a Dubai family need a licence or permit?+

Yes. Private tuition in the UAE requires a MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. Anyone tutoring without one is subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws; no fine schedule has been published, so treat any specific amount quoted at you as unverified. This is a MoHRE permit, not a KHDA school licence.

My child has four weeks left and three weak subjects. What should we actually buy?+

One subject, properly, rather than three thinly. Four weeks split three ways gives roughly four sessions each, which is not enough to change a paper technique in any of them. Rank the three by how much the grade matters for the post-16 route, and by how many marks a mock script shows are recoverable. Then spend the four weeks on the one at the top and use free school support for the others. Spreading a short block across several subjects is the most reliable way to waste it.

What should I bring to the free trial lesson if the exam is close?+

The most recent marked script, not the grade; the school's entry confirmation showing board, syllabus code, tier and components; and a count of the real teaching weeks left once breaks are removed. With those three things a first session can produce a ranked list of the topics costing the most marks and an honest statement of what is reachable. The trial is free, needs no card details and carries no obligation, and if it produces only encouragement you have learned something useful about that tutor.

Count the weeks, then book

An IGCSE term is governed by dates, and the dates are knowable. Confirm the series, get the zone-specific timetable and the entry confirmation from your school's exams officer, count the teaching weeks that are genuinely left once the breaks come out, and decide what the block is not going to cover. Then bring the marked mock script to a free trial lesson and ask for a ranked list of the marks that are recoverable. Lessons run one-to-one online over live video on Gulf Standard Time, scheduled after the Jumeirah 3 school run, with progress reported as marks on timed questions.
