IB Tutor near me in Emaar South

Searching for an IB tutor near me in Emaar South returns a short list for a structural reason: no school sits inside this community, so no tutoring market has grown around one. Every child here travels out. IB Gram matches Emaar South students to subject specialists and teaches them one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, and sends no tutor to a UAE address.

  • Matched by subject and level, not by what is nearby
  • Session times set from your child's real arrival home
  • Live one-to-one video on Gulf Standard Time, no travel either way
  • Free trial lesson with the tutor who would teach the term

IB & IGCSE in Emaar South

A proximity search needs a local market, and Emaar South does not have one

Tutoring markets form around schools. Teachers live near where they work, word of mouth travels between parents at the same gate, and agencies staff the areas where demand is dense. That is why a near-me search in Jumeirah or Al Barsha returns a long list and the same search from Emaar South returns a short one. It is not a judgement about the community. It is the simple consequence of there being no school inside it.

Emaar South is a golf-course community within Dubai South, built out across Golf Links, Urbana, Expo Golf Villas, Parkside and Greenview. Children here travel out to four distinct clusters: the Dubai Investments Park schools to the north-east, Al Furjan and Jebel Ali to the north and west, and the Dubailand corridor to the east. There is no single gate where Emaar South parents meet, which is also why local recommendations are patchier here than in older communities.

The second reason a proximity search misfires is that the IB is not one subject. It is six separate courses, each with a published subject guide, its own command terms, its own internally assessed component and its own markbands. A tutor who teaches Biology Standard Level well is not by that fact any use to a Chemistry Higher Level candidate. Distance tells you nothing about which of those someone has taught, and in a thin local market the proximity filter removes almost everybody who has.

IB Gram does not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE. Home visits are a service we run in India only, and no tutor is dispatched to an Emaar South address. Students here are taught live one-to-one over video on Gulf Standard Time, with their marked script and the official markband open on a shared screen. That removes the geography filter from the match, which in this community is the expensive one, while leaving the timing question entirely intact.

So this page covers the two things a near-me search is really asking about. First the catchment: which schools Emaar South households actually use, what each journey costs, how to read a KHDA inspection report on a school your child will travel to every day, and whether the bus or the car is the better decision. Second the evening: an honest audit of how many usable hours a Diploma student in this community has after travel, and which subjects the thin southern catchment leaves genuinely short.

One factual note. KHDA, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in Dubai, inspects private schools annually on a six-band scale and publishes the results. It does not accredit private tutors, and IB Gram holds no KHDA permit, approval or partnership and operates no UAE centre. Individual tutors in the UAE need the MoHRE private tuition work permit, introduced under Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Emaar South families ask about every IB stage, with Middle Years heaviest because the community's age profile is young. Each note below is about this catchment rather than about the programme in general.

PYPAges 3-12 · Foundation to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

Transdisciplinary, built on units of inquiry, assessed continuously and descriptively rather than by grade. Parents arriving from a system with termly tests often cannot tell whether a child is on track. Number fluency, reading stamina and the ability to structure a written explanation are the three things that transfer, and tutoring at this age should be short and frequent.

For a primary child in this community the journey is the dominant constraint. A six year old off a forty-minute bus has very little left, which is why primary sessions from Emaar South work better at 17:30 after a proper break, or on a weekend morning, than in the slot that happens to be free at 16:15.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

Four criteria per subject from A to D, each marked 0 to 8 and converted to a 1-7 grade, with the criteria differing by subject group. Criterion B in Sciences is inquiring and designing; in Individuals and Societies it is investigating. Students strong on content and weak on process sit mid-band across every subject simultaneously.

The largest demand from Emaar South, because the community skews young. Sixty-minute sessions in the 17:00 to 18:30 band are what work here once the journey is accounted for. The Personal Project in the final year needs longer stretches and almost always moves to a weekend morning in this catchment.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three Higher and three Standard, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service. Each subject's internal assessment carries 20% to 25%, and the school coordinator's internal deadlines for those fall far earlier than the May papers most families plan around.

A Diploma student travelling out of Emaar South daily is carrying a workload designed on the assumption of a shorter journey. The honest response is fewer, better-placed sessions rather than more, and a deliberate audit of how many usable evening hours actually exist in the week before anything is booked.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

Two or more Diploma courses alongside a career-related study, a reflective project and a personal and professional skills course. Offered by a small number of UAE schools. Tutoring demand falls on the Diploma courses taken within it and on the reflective project's argument structure.

Rare across this whole catchment, which means an Emaar South family whose child is on it has nobody at any of the four school clusters to compare notes with. A specialist who has supervised the reflective project elsewhere resolves that, and online delivery is the only route to one from here.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

The IB subjects Emaar South families request, with a note on how thin the local pool is for each once a driving radius is applied.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Non-calculator Paper 1 makes hand algebra the deciding skill. Standard Level has a reasonable local pool across this catchment; Higher Level, with complex numbers, vectors and proof by induction, does not, and the proximity filter removes most of what exists.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Calculator-permitted throughout, with statistics, modelling and finance carrying the weight. Marks go on interpretation rather than calculation. Higher Level adds graph theory and matrices, which fewer teachers in any market have delivered.

Physics

HL and SL

Paper 1 gives no method credit, so a prefix slip costs the whole question, and uncertainty and graph technique carry marks independently of the physics. Higher Level physics is among the thinnest specialisms anywhere, and in a southern catchment with no local school it is thinner still.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Multi-step calculations punish early rounding and mechanisms require every arrow to start in the right place. Higher Level adds entropy, equilibrium calculations and transition metals. The local pool within driving reach of Emaar South is small enough that most families end up with a generalist.

Biology

HL and SL

The volume of recall is the problem rather than the difficulty of any idea, so gains come from structured note compression and command-term discipline. The best-covered science in this catchment at Standard Level, and workable at Higher Level with a short wait.

Economics

HL and SL

Diagrams are marked and an unlabelled axis loses the mark whatever the prose says. The internal assessment is three 800-word commentaries applying one syllabus unit each. A moderate pool, with Higher Level quantitative work the part most tutors have not taught.

Business Management

HL and SL

Higher Level sits a pre-released case study for Paper 2, rewarding months of structured preparation. Tools must be applied to the named firm rather than described. Reasonably covered, and the case study specifically rewards a tutor who has worked through a previous one.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Paper 1 prints a guided question above the passage and the markbands reward answering it. The individual oral links a global issue to a literary and a non-literary text. Moderate availability, with Higher Level essay work the scarcer part.

Geography

HL and SL

Examine and evaluate carry the highest tariff and both need a judgement rather than coverage. Case-study specificity separates the bands: a named place with figures beats a generic example. Thin in this catchment, as in most.

Computer Science

HL and SL

The examination uses the IB's own pseudocode rather than a real language, and trace tables are reliable marks almost nobody drills. Higher Level adds a case study. One of the two or three subjects where a proximity search from Emaar South returns essentially nothing.

Theory of Knowledge

Core

A 1,600-word essay on one of six prescribed titles plus an exhibition of three objects with commentaries, carrying up to three bonus points with the Extended Essay. Very few tutors in any local market have supervised it, and fewer still within a drive of here.

Arabic B

HL and SL

Taken widely because Arabic is mandatory in Dubai private schools under KHDA rules. The individual oral is the most recoverable component and rewards drilled structures. Thin everywhere as an IB subject, and routinely confused with general Arabic tutoring, which is not the same thing.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Four formats built for a household whose children travel out of the community every day. All are live one-to-one video with a matched specialist and none involves travel to a UAE address.

Specialist weekly sessions, placed late

One session a week with a tutor matched to the subject guide and level, deliberately scheduled well after the front door opens rather than in the earliest free slot. The working material is the student's own marked script against the published markband, shared on screen.

  • 60 or 90 minutes, placed from the real arrival time
  • Matched on the subject guide, not on availability alone
  • Marked against the published markband, wording compared line by line
  • A written note after each session naming the next target

Weekend sessions for the core

Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and internal assessments need uninterrupted stretches that a travelling student's weekday evening cannot supply. A standing weekend morning slot is what separates the Emaar South students who finish these comfortably from those who do not.

  • Two-hour slots rather than one-hour ones
  • Research question narrowed until the word limit can answer it
  • Criteria named by letter with their mark allocations
  • Feedback on the student's own draft, never a rewrite

Thin-subject early booking

For Computer Science Higher Level, Theory of Knowledge, Arabic B and Higher Level physics, the specialist pool is small and a request made in September is filled on different terms from the same request made in February. We say what the wait is rather than substituting a generalist.

  • A stated wait with a date, not a substitute tutor
  • A shorter component block offered where the wait is unworkable
  • Option topics confirmed before matching, where they apply
  • Booked a term ahead where the family can plan that far

Break intensives

The winter and spring breaks remove the school workload and the daily journey at the same time, which returns more usable hours to an Emaar South student than to a family living beside a school. Four to six sessions on consecutive days does work a weekly slot cannot.

  • Consecutive days rather than a weekly rhythm
  • Full timed papers marked and reviewed inside forty-eight hours
  • Internal assessment and Extended Essay drafting
  • A written plan for the term that follows

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Emaar South

01

Where Emaar South children actually go to school

  • Four clusters in different directions, so no single parent gate forms
  • Dubai Investments Park is the nearest and the only formed local market
  • The Dubailand corridor is the longest journey at around forty-five minutes
  • School choice and tutoring choice are separate questions here

A near-me search assumes a catchment. Emaar South does not have one in the usual sense, because there is no school inside the community to form it around. Instead households choose between four clusters in different directions, and two neighbours can be sending children to schools half an hour apart on different curricula. That dispersal has consequences beyond the morning drive: it is why parent recommendations circulate less reliably here than in a community with one dominant school.

The nearest cluster is Dubai Investments Park and Green Community, which carries IB continuum, British, Indian and SABIS provision in a tight radius. It is the destination for most Emaar South households and the only place in this catchment where a resident tutoring market has genuinely formed, because teachers live near where they work. Al Furjan and Jebel Ali are the northern and western alternatives, predominantly British-curriculum and oriented to IGCSE at sixteen.

The fourth destination is the Dubailand corridor to the east, which Emaar South families choose when they want a particular IB continuum school and are willing to pay for it in time. That journey runs around forty-five minutes each way by car and longer by bus, which is the longest in this set and the one that most constrains what an evening can hold.

The table maps the clusters against programme and journey. Read it as a planning document rather than a ranking: the right school for a household depends on curriculum, admissions and fit, and KHDA publishes an annual inspection report for every one of them which is a better guide than any list. What the table does establish is that the tutoring question and the school question are separate, and that solving the first by geography is a category error in this community.

The bus or the car, and what each does to the evening

This decision is usually made on cost and convenience and it has a direct effect on how much tutoring a household can realistically use. A private car takes the direct route and arrives when it arrives. A school bus runs a circuit with six or seven stops, and a child who is the last drop can be home half an hour after a classmate who was first. Over a week that is two and a half hours, which is more than a session.

Both options are longer in the afternoon than in the morning, because Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road carry end-of-working-day traffic through exactly the window when buses are running, and the Jebel Ali industrial area adds its own congestion. A run that takes twenty-five minutes at 07:15 can take thirty-five at 15:15, which is the variability that makes a fixed early session unworkable.

The carpool option sits between the two and is underused in this community, partly because the dispersal across four clusters makes it harder to arrange. Where three or four Emaar South families send children to the same Investments Park school, a rota recovers two or three afternoons a week for the parents and shortens the journey for the children relative to a bus. It is worth asking at the gate, since the arithmetic is substantial.

The practical action, whichever is chosen, is to find out the actual arrival time rather than estimate it. The school can supply bus route timings. A week of noting the time the door opens settles the car case. That single number determines which tutoring slot to book, and in Emaar South getting it wrong is the commonest reason an arrangement that should have worked quietly stops around half term.

Reading a KHDA report on a school you will travel to daily

  • Six bands, from Outstanding to Very Weak, inspected annually and published
  • The headline band is an aggregate across phases and subjects
  • Attainment and progress are reported separately and can diverge
  • The recommendations section is a ready-made list for an admissions meeting

If a child is going to spend an hour and a half a day travelling to a school, the inspection report deserves more than a glance at the headline band. KHDA is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in Dubai and inspects private schools annually on a six-band scale running from Outstanding through Very Good, Good and Acceptable down to Weak and Very Weak. The reports are published on KHDA's own site and are free to read.

The headline band is an aggregate and it hides the thing an Emaar South family most needs to know, which is performance in the specific phase and subjects their child will actually sit. A school rated Good overall can be stronger in primary than in post-16, or strong in English and weaker in mathematics and science. For a Diploma-bound student the relevant pages are the secondary and post-16 sections, not the summary.

Three other things in the report repay attention. Attainment and progress are reported separately, and a school where attainment is high and progress is only acceptable may be selecting well rather than teaching well. The report comments on teaching and assessment as its own judgement, which is the closest available proxy for what happens in a classroom. And the recommendations section tells you what inspectors told the school to fix, which is a reasonable list of questions to put to an admissions officer.

None of this makes a school with a lower band the wrong choice, and none of it is a reason to buy tutoring. It is a reason to buy the right tutoring, or none: a family whose child is at a school the report describes as strong in teaching and assessment, and who is nonetheless underperforming, has an individual problem worth diagnosing. A family compensating for a documented weakness in a subject department has a different problem and should at least know which one they are in.

An honest audit of a travelling Diploma student's week

Before booking anything, it is worth counting what a Diploma student in this community actually has available. Take a weekday: school day, plus roughly ninety minutes of travel both ways combined, plus the time it takes to get through the door, change and eat. What remains between that point and a reasonable bedtime for a sixteen or seventeen year old is usually four to four and a half hours, and that has to hold school homework, internal assessment work, any co-curricular commitment and a tutoring session.

Put next to the Diploma's actual demands, that is tight. Six subjects each setting work, six internal assessments at 20% to 25% of their subject, an Extended Essay at 4,000 words, a Theory of Knowledge essay at 1,600 words plus an exhibition, and Creativity, Activity, Service running alongside. A student living next to their school has the same list and ninety minutes more a day to meet it, which across a term is a substantial advantage that nobody mentions.

The consequence is that adding tutoring sessions is often the wrong move. A third weekly session in a week with four usable evening hours a day displaces the independent practice that makes the first two work, and the student ends up with more teaching and less learning. The better response is fewer, better-placed sessions, smaller and more frequent set work, and a deliberate shift of the long tasks to weekends and breaks.

The audit also tells you which subject to prioritise honestly. If there are hours for one subject's support rather than three, the right choice is the one where a diagnosable fault is costing the most marks, not the one that feels most alarming. That is a decision a marked script makes better than a parent's instinct, and it is the single most useful output of a first diagnostic session in this community.

Which subjects this catchment leaves genuinely short

The useful version of a near-me answer is not a longer list; it is an honest statement of where the list runs out. Across this catchment, Diploma Mathematics in both routes at Standard Level, Biology Standard Level and English A are reasonably covered, because they are the subjects most IB teachers have delivered and because the Investments Park cluster generates enough demand to sustain local supply.

Where it thins is predictable. Chemistry and Physics at Higher Level are taught by fewer people everywhere, and once a forty-minute drive to the southern edge of the emirate is added as a condition, the surviving pool is very small. Computer Science Higher Level is thinner again, and the IB's own pseudocode notation means a working software developer is not automatically a useful tutor for it. Theory of Knowledge has almost no local supply because few teachers have supervised it.

Arabic B deserves a specific mention because it is routinely confused with general Arabic tutoring. Arabic is mandatory in Dubai private schools under KHDA rules, so there is substantial Arabic teaching capacity in the market. Arabic B as a Diploma language acquisition subject, with its individual oral based on a visual stimulus and its specific assessment structure, is a different thing, and a tutor who teaches one is not necessarily able to prepare a candidate for the other.

What online delivery does here is remove the driving condition, which is the cut that was doing the damage. It does not create specialists and this page will not imply otherwise. Where no specialist is free in the week you ask, we say so and give a date, and where a wait is unworkable we propose a shorter block on the single most urgent component instead. That is a smaller promise than a full term and it is one we can keep.

The regulator map, because this catchment touches a border

Dubai private schools are regulated by KHDA, which is responsible for enhancing and overseeing the quality of private education in the emirate. That is the only regulator most families in this catchment deal with. It matters here slightly more than elsewhere because Emaar South sits at the southern end of Dubai, and some households have a child at a school across the Abu Dhabi border or move between the two emirates, at which point a second regulator applies.

Across the UAE the map is complete and worth knowing. Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are regulated by the Department of Education and Knowledge, which supervises the licensing and accreditation of private schools in the emirate. Sharjah's Private Education Authority regulates private education there. Ras Al Khaimah's Department of Knowledge does the same, and the Ministry of Education plays the supervisory role for private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.

Two of those bodies do more than inspect. Sharjah's and Ras Al Khaimah's authorities approve tuition fees, curricula, programmes, courses, activities and assessment methods, so curriculum approval and not just inspection sits with the emirate regulator. That is a genuine difference in how much the regulator shapes what happens in a classroom, and it is worth knowing if a family is considering a move north.

What none of these bodies does is accredit private tutors. There is no such thing as a KHDA-approved tutor: KHDA issues an Educational Services Permit to training institutes with physical premises, which is a specific instrument with an initial approval stage, a maximum of six months to complete the permit and licence steps, and annual renewal requested at least thirty days before expiry. IB Gram holds none of it, operates no UAE centre, and claims no approval, accreditation or partnership from any regulator, board or school.

What the proximity premium costs, in published AED

If a family does insist on somebody local, the published bands show what the insistence costs. Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 rate table puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180-350 an hour, with independent home tutors quoted up to AED 500 once travel is priced into the hour. Qualified subject tutors online sit at AED 150-300, with Unitors publishing IGCSE from AED 150 and IB from AED 200. TutorChase quotes AED 270 and BartyED AED 650 for premium named tutors.

From an address at the southern edge of the emirate the in-home premium sits at the top of its band, because the tutor is absorbing the same journey the child just made. The published monthly packages make the shape of it clear: AED 799 a month for eight online sessions against AED 1,599-1,799 a month for four in-home sessions of two hours. Double the money for half the sessions, and the difference is driving rather than teaching.

At the budget end, Tutopiya advertises from AED 33-52 an hour and EdFlik from AED 45-65, both online and typically delivered by university students or non-specialists. That band buys supervision rather than diagnosis, which is the right purchase for a student who will not sit down without company and the wrong one for a student losing marks to a specific technique fault. Bestimate's monthly estimates run AED 240-600 budget, AED 600-1,200 mid-market and AED 1,000-2,000 or more for specialist examination-year support.

Every figure here belongs to the provider named and is published by them; none is an IB Gram price, and our own conversation starts with a free trial lesson and a written diagnosis rather than a rate. Three of the six most visible providers in this market publish no price at all and two quote in US dollars, which no Emaar South household transacts in, so the simple act of printing a checkable number is itself a differentiator in this cluster.

Academic honesty, stated because this SERP needs it

  • Teaching content, explaining criteria and feedback on a draft are all permitted
  • Writing, rewriting, supplying data or editing to completion is malpractice
  • The Extended Essay permits one round of substantive feedback on one draft
  • Consequences of a malpractice finding fall on the student's Diploma
  • An offer of finished coursework is grounds to decline a provider outright

A page competing for these searches sells completed Internal Assessments. That is worth naming because a parent comparing options in a thin local market is more likely to be offered one, and because the consequence falls on the student rather than the seller. A finding of malpractice under IB rules can mean no grade awarded in that subject and, in serious cases, no Diploma at all.

What a tutor may legitimately do covers nearly everything a family needs. A tutor may teach the subject content the assessment rests on. A tutor may discuss a proposed research question and reject one too broad to answer in the word limit. A tutor may explain each criterion by letter and what separates one band from the next. A tutor may read a complete draft the student has written and give feedback on it: for the Extended Essay, the IB permits one round of substantive feedback on one draft.

What a tutor may not do is produce the work. Not writing a paragraph, not rewriting a section into better English, not supplying a dataset, not choosing the research question on the student's behalf, not editing a draft to completion. The practical test is whether every sentence in the submitted document was composed by the student. If it was not, the document is no longer the student's own work, whatever label is attached to the help.

IB Gram tutors teach, question and give feedback, and that boundary is explained to the student at the first session rather than discovered when a school runs an authenticity check. Any provider offering a finished internal assessment, Extended Essay or Theory of Knowledge essay should be declined on that basis alone, and the offer itself is useful information about everything else they claim.

Where we tutor

Nearby areas we cover around Emaar South

The communities in this catchment, described by what each contributes to the local tutoring market rather than by amenities.

Emaar South

Villas and townhouses across Golf Links, Urbana, Expo Golf Villas, Parkside and Greenview. No school inside the community, so no resident teaching population has formed around one, which is the direct cause of a thin near-me result.

Dubai South Residential District

Apartments and townhouses immediately north, including The Pulse. Marginally closer to the Investments Park schools, so arrivals land nearer 16:15 and the earliest workable session is correspondingly earlier.

Dubai Investments Park

The main school cluster for this corner of the emirate, with IB continuum, British, Indian and SABIS provision close together. The only place in this catchment where a genuine local tutoring market has formed, because the schools are here.

Al Furjan

North on the Sheikh Zayed side with its own schools and a metro station. A denser market than Dubai South, which is why Emaar South families comparing near-me results notice the difference immediately.

Jebel Ali

West of the cluster with long-established British and Indian-curriculum schools. Older supply and a wider spread of informal arrangements, mostly oriented to IGCSE rather than to the Diploma.

Discovery Gardens

High-density apartments to the north with schools nearby. Relevant because it demonstrates the pattern: tutoring supply tracks school density, not community prestige or property value.

Green Community

Low-rise housing inside Dubai Investments Park, minutes from the school cluster. The benchmark for this page: a 16:00 session works there and does not work in Emaar South, purely because of the journey.

Dubailand and the southern corridor

The eastward destination for Emaar South families choosing a particular IB continuum school. The longest journey in this catchment at around forty-five minutes, which pushes a first session past 17:15.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Emaar South

Dubai Investments Park and Green Community

The nearest cluster and the destination for most Emaar South households, roughly twenty-five to thirty-five minutes each way in afternoon traffic. IB continuum provision sits alongside British and SABIS schools within a few minutes of each other.

  • Greenfield International School
  • Nibras International School
  • Dove Green Private School
  • The International School of Choueifat Dubai Investments Park
  • Bright Learners Private School

Dubailand and the southern corridor

The longest journey Emaar South families make, chosen for a specific IB continuum school. Around forty-five minutes each way by car and longer by bus, which is why sessions from these households sit after 17:15 or at weekends.

  • Fairgreen International School
  • South View School
  • Jebel Ali School
  • The Aquila School
  • GEMS Metropole School

Al Furjan and Jebel Ali

The northern and western destinations, reached up Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Predominantly British-curriculum, running IGCSE at sixteen before a split into A Level or the Diploma elsewhere.

  • The Arbor School
  • Safa Community School
  • The Winchester School Jebel Ali
  • Delhi Private School Dubai
  • The Gardens School

Schools are named as context for the school ecosystem Emaar South families travel to; IB Gram has no affiliation, partnership or endorsement relationship with any of them.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the arrival time and the school

What time your child actually walks through the door, whether that is bus or car, and which school they attend. In a community with no school inside it, those three facts place the session more reliably than any stated preference, and they differ widely between Emaar South neighbours.

  2. 02

Name the subject, the level and the component

Chemistry Higher Level with a weak Paper 2 is a different brief from the same course with no investigation started. Naming the component means session one diagnoses instead of introducing. For a Higher Level science, also name the Paper 3 option the school teaches.

  3. 03

    Send a recent marked script

A marked mock or a returned internal assessment draft shows a specialist in five minutes what a conversation approximates in an hour, because where the marks went is visible on the page. Without one, the first session produces a script from a short timed section.

  4. 04

Free trial lesson with the matched specialist

One full session at no charge and no card, taught by the person who would take the term. It returns a written diagnosis and a proposed weekly shape that fits the journey. If the match is wrong we rematch rather than asking you to persist with it.

  5. 05

Audit the week before adding a second subject

Count the usable evening hours after travel, arrival and school homework. Most travelling Diploma students have room for one well-placed session plus practice, not three. Adding a third session usually displaces the practice that made the first two work.

  6. 06

Book thin subjects early and the breaks earlier

Computer Science Higher Level, Theory of Knowledge, Arabic B and Higher Level physics are small pools and a September request is filled on better terms than a February one. Break intensives are the highest-value arrangement available from this community and the first thing to fill.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Matched on the subject guide, not on what is nearby

The IB is six separate courses with six published guides. A near-me search ranks by proximity and local optimisation, neither of which says anything about which guide somebody has taught. From a community with no school inside it, that filter removes almost everyone who has.

Slots built from a real arrival time

Emaar South households arrive home anywhere between 15:45 and 17:30 depending on cluster and whether a bus or car is used. Booking from a standard slot list produces sessions that begin before the student is home. We ask for the actual time and place the session at least forty-five minutes after it.

The weekly audit comes before the second subject

A travelling Diploma student has roughly ninety minutes a day less than a classmate living by the school, against an identical workload. Counting the usable hours first prevents the common failure of buying more teaching and losing the practice that made it work.

Thin coverage disclosed with a date

Computer Science Higher Level, Theory of Knowledge, Arabic B and Higher Level physics are small pools everywhere and almost absent within a drive of here. Where nobody is free we give a date or offer a shorter component block. No competitor page in this market publishes a coverage limit at all.

AED figures that can be checked

Every band here is attributed to the provider or rate table that published it. Three of the six most visible providers in this market publish no price and two quote in US dollars. Printing a checkable number is a low bar and most of this cluster does not clear it.

No regulator claims and no UAE centre

IB Gram holds no KHDA, ADEK, SPEA, MoE or IB approval, accreditation or partnership, and operates no office or centre in the UAE. The regulators are explained on this page because reading a KHDA report matters when a child will travel ninety minutes a day to a school.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Emaar South: your questions answered

Why does an IB tutor near me search return so little in Emaar South?+

Because tutoring markets form around schools and no school sits inside this community. Teachers live near where they work, recommendations circulate between parents at a shared gate, and agencies staff where demand is dense. Emaar South households travel out to four different clusters, so none of those conditions holds. The result is a short list selected mainly by willingness to drive to the southern edge of the emirate, which is a logistics filter rather than a teaching one.

Where do most Emaar South children go to school?+

Four clusters, in different directions. The nearest is Dubai Investments Park and Green Community, with IB continuum, British, Indian and SABIS provision close together, around twenty-five to thirty-five minutes each way. Al Furjan and Jebel Ali are the northern and western alternatives, predominantly British-curriculum. The Dubailand corridor to the east is the longest journey at roughly forty-five minutes and is chosen for a particular IB continuum school. KHDA publishes an annual inspection report for every one of them.

How should I read a KHDA inspection report for a school we will drive to?+

Past the headline band. KHDA inspects annually on six bands from Outstanding through Very Good, Good and Acceptable down to Weak and Very Weak, and the overall band is an aggregate across phases and subjects. For a Diploma-bound student the relevant pages are the secondary and post-16 sections and the mathematics and science judgements. Attainment and progress are reported separately and can diverge, and the recommendations section is effectively a list of questions to put to an admissions officer.

Does the school bus change what tutoring is possible?+

Substantially. A bus runs a circuit with six or seven stops, so a child who is the last drop can be home half an hour after a classmate who was first, and over a week that is more than a full session. Buses also run through end-of-working-day traffic on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road. The school can supply the route timing, and establishing it precisely before booking a slot is one of the few pieces of admin that reliably improves a tutoring arrangement here.

How many usable evening hours does a travelling Diploma student have?+

Usually four to four and a half on a weekday, once about ninety minutes of combined travel and the time to get in, change and eat are deducted. Those hours have to hold school homework from six subjects, internal assessment work, any Creativity, Activity, Service commitment and a tutoring session. A student living next to their school has the same workload and ninety minutes more a day to meet it, which across a term is a real and rarely acknowledged difference.

Should we book more sessions because of the commute?+

Usually the opposite. A third weekly session in a week with four usable evening hours a day displaces the independent practice that makes the first two work, so the student receives more teaching and does less learning. The better response is fewer and better-placed sessions, smaller and more frequent set work, and a deliberate move of the long tasks to weekend mornings and school breaks where the journey disappears entirely.

Which IB subjects are hardest to find within reach of Emaar South?+

Computer Science Higher Level and Theory of Knowledge are close to absent locally, because few teachers have delivered either and the IB's own pseudocode notation means a working developer is not automatically useful for the first. Physics and Chemistry at Higher Level are thin everywhere and thinner once a forty-minute drive is a condition. Arabic B is also scarce as a Diploma subject, and it is routinely confused with general Arabic tutoring, which is a different qualification with a different assessment structure.

Are in-person lessons at a villa part of what IB Gram offers here?+

No. Home visits are a service IB Gram runs in India only and no tutor is sent to any UAE address. Students here are taught live one-to-one over video on Gulf Standard Time, with the marked script and the published markband shared on screen. A visiting tutor would be absorbing the same journey your child just made and pricing it into the hour: Bestimate puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180-350 and independent home tutors up to AED 500 once travel is included.

Is a carpool worth arranging from this community?+

Where three or four households send children to the same Investments Park school, yes, and it is underused here precisely because families are dispersed across four clusters. A rota recovers two or three afternoons a week for the parents and usually shortens the journey relative to a bus, because it skips the circuit. It is worth asking at the gate rather than assuming nobody nearby shares the destination, since the dispersal makes that assumption feel truer than it is.

Which regulator applies if we move across the Abu Dhabi border?+

The Department of Education and Knowledge, which supervises the licensing and accreditation of private schools in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Dubai is KHDA, Sharjah is the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Ras Al Khaimah is the Department of Knowledge, and the Ministry of Education supervises private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. Worth knowing from Emaar South because the community sits at the southern end of Dubai and some households have a child at a school over the border.

Is there such a thing as a KHDA-approved IB tutor?+

No. KHDA oversees schools, inspects them annually and publishes the reports; it issues an Educational Services Permit to training institutes with physical premises, which involves an initial approval stage, a maximum of six months to complete the permit and licence steps, and annual renewal requested at least thirty days before expiry. That is not a tutor credential. The real one for an individual is the MoHRE private tuition work permit, granted free of charge for two years. IB Gram holds no KHDA approval and operates no UAE centre.

What happens if no specialist in my child's subject is free?+

We say so and give a date rather than offering a substitute. Diploma Mathematics in both routes, Biology at Standard Level and English A usually match within a few days. Computer Science Higher Level, Theory of Knowledge and Arabic B can take a week or more. Seating a general science tutor opposite a Higher Level physics candidate costs a family money and a student confidence while teaching nothing the textbook would not have supplied, so where a wait is unworkable we propose a shorter block on the most urgent component instead.

What Extended Essay help is permitted for an Emaar South student?+

Yes, and the permitted work covers most of what matters. A tutor may discuss the research question and reject one too broad to answer in 4,000 words, explain the five criteria and what separates the bands, teach the subject content the essay rests on, and give feedback on one complete draft the student has written. The IB permits one round of substantive feedback on one draft. What is not permitted is writing, rewriting or editing any part of it, and a provider offering a finished essay should be declined outright.

When should an Emaar South family book break intensives?+

Before the term starts, because they are the highest-value arrangement available from this community and the first thing to fill. A break removes both the school workload and the daily journey at the same time, which returns more usable hours here than to a family living beside a school cluster. Four to six sessions on consecutive days, with full timed papers marked and reviewed inside forty-eight hours while the student still remembers their reasoning, does work no arrangement of term evenings can match.

Does living in Emaar South mean paying more for tutoring?+

Only if the tutor travels. From an address at the southern edge of the emirate the in-home premium sits at the top of its published band, because the tutor absorbs the same journey the child made: Bestimate puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180-350 and independent tutors up to AED 500 once travel is in the hour, against AED 150-300 online for a qualified subject tutor. The published monthly packages are starker still: AED 799 for eight online sessions against AED 1,599-1,799 for four in-home ones.

What is the first thing to send when enquiring from this community?+

Four things, and the first is unusual. Your child's actual arrival time and whether that is by bus or car, because in a community with no school inside it that sets the slot. The school they attend. The subject, level and weak component, since Chemistry Higher Level with a weak Paper 2 is a different brief from the same course with no investigation started. And a recent marked script. With those four the first session diagnoses rather than introduces.

The list is short because there is no school here, not because the help is not

A near-me search for an IB tutor in Emaar South returns little for a structural reason: tutoring markets grow around schools and this community does not contain one. Send your child's real arrival time, the school, the subject, the level, the weak component and a recent marked script. The free trial lesson returns a written diagnosis and a weekly shape built around the journey rather than around a standard slot list. Lessons are one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, as late as 21:30 where that fits better. Home visits are an India-only service.
