IB DP Business Management Tutor in Ajman

Hiring an IB DP Business Management tutor in Ajman is a question about money before it is a question about teaching: what an hour costs, what sits inside it, and whether a second hour would add anything. This page prices the subject properly against published UAE market rates in AED, purchase by purchase, from the pre-released case study to the 1,800-word research project. Lessons run one-to-one over live video, scheduled around an Ajman evening.

What an hour of Diploma Business Management actually costs an Ajman family

Start with the spread, because it is wider than most parents expect. Published UAE rates for Diploma subject tuition begin around AED 45 an hour at the undergraduate end and reach AED 650 an hour at the named-tutor end. EdFlik advertises from AED 45–65, Tutopiya from AED 33–52, Unitors from AED 200 for IB subjects, TutorChase at AED 270 and BartyED at AED 650. Those are their own figures, published on their own pages and read in October 2026. IB Gram runs no hourly price list of its own; the free first lesson and the consultation that follows are where a number gets set.

What moves that number for this subject is which of three separate things you are buying. The first is weekly teaching of the five units — introduction to business management, human resource management, finance and accounts, marketing, and operations management. The second is examination technique for Paper 1, which is only worth paying for in the months the pre-released case study is live. The third is supervision of the business research project, capped at 1,800 words, which is the most expensive hour on the page because it is iterative, one-to-one and cannot be shared with another student.

Ajman changes the arithmetic in two ways that Dubai does not. Private schools in the emirate sit under the federal Ministry of Education rather than an emirate-level authority, and the Diploma cohort here is small: Ajman Academy carries most of it, while families in Al Nuaimiya, Al Rawda and Al Mowaihat often drive into Sharjah or northern Dubai for a school place instead. The result is that very few adults within a short drive have taught Business Management to Diploma standard. A visiting tutor prices that scarcity and the drive together, which is why the published in-home band of AED 180–500 an hour sits above the online bands either side of it.

IB Gram does not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE — visiting tuition is a service we run only in India. Business Management tuition in Ajman is delivered one-to-one over live video, with a shared screen for annual reports, ratio working and successive drafts of the research project. The practical effect on a bill is that you stop paying for a 40-minute drive up from Sharjah, and you stop choosing a tutor from whoever happens to live within that drive. You pay for subject hours and you choose from a wider pool.

The honest sequence is to spend nothing first. Read the subject guide the school issues, look at the published assessment weightings, and work out which of the three purchases above is the real gap. A student who understands finance but cannot structure a ten-mark evaluation needs four technique sessions, not two years of weekly tuition. A student two units behind needs the reverse. The sections below cost each route separately, count the hours the research project genuinely takes, and set out who may lawfully take money for tutoring in this emirate.

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Business Management is a group three Diploma subject, so most of this page is about DP. Families arrive at it from different places, though: a Middle Years Programme student picking options, a first-year Diploma student who has just met ratio analysis, or a Career-related Programme candidate taking it as the major study. Each entry point changes the hours, and therefore the cost.

MYPAges 11–16 · Years 7–11

Middle Years Programme

Individuals and societies in the Middle Years Programme is where most future Business Management candidates first meet stakeholders, markets and the idea that a decision has costs on several sides. Marking runs on criteria A to D rather than examination papers, so a student can score well on a research task and still be unprepared for a timed data-response question. The gap that matters is writing under a clock against a command term.

Ajman's Middle Years Programme provision is concentrated at Ajman Academy, with alternatives in Sharjah for families willing to commute. If option choices are being made this spring, an hour spent on what Business Management actually assesses is cheaper than a year spent in the wrong group three subject. We take Middle Years students at this stage for choice conversations as much as teaching.

Diploma Programme

Under the 2022 subject guide, first examined in May 2024, both levels sit Paper 1 built on a pre-released case study, Paper 2 as a data-response paper, and complete the business research project. Higher Level carries extra content in every unit, longer papers and a wider set of toolkit techniques. Confirm the current weightings against the copy of the guide your child's school holds before planning around them.

Diploma candidates in Ajman are the main audience for this page. Most sit the May session, which means the research project and the live case study compete for the same winter weeks as the Extended Essay deadline. Pricing a two-year plan without mapping those weeks first is how families end up paying for hours in February that would have been worth four times as much in October.

CPAges 16–19 · Years 12–13

Career-related Programme

The Career-related Programme pairs Diploma courses with a career-related study, and Business Management is one of the most commonly chosen DP courses inside it. Candidates sit the same papers as full Diploma students for the courses they take, so examination technique needs are identical. What differs is the surrounding workload: a reflective project rather than the Extended Essay, and fewer competing internal deadlines.

Career-related Programme places in the northern emirates are thin, and families in Ajman asking about it are usually weighing it against A-Levels at a Sharjah school. We teach the Business Management course identically either way. The only scheduling difference is that reflective-project weeks fall at a different point from the Diploma core deadlines, which frees up slots in January.

CoreAges 16–19 · alongside the six subjects

Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS

The core is where Business Management candidates most often lose time rather than marks. An Extended Essay in business management runs to 4,000 words and needs a research question narrow enough to answer with real data, which is a different skill from the 1,800-word research project. Students who attempt both on the same organisation usually find the second one harder, not easier.

For an Ajman family, the practical core question is sequencing. The Extended Essay first reflection, the research project plan and the live case study tend to land in the same term, and a household running a Dubai or Sharjah commute has perhaps five usable weekday evenings a week. We treat core support as a separate purchase with its own hours rather than folding it into a subject rate.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Business Management is one course, but a tutoring plan is priced against its parts. The grid below splits the five syllabus units and the three assessed components, with the toolkit treated separately because it is where Higher Level candidates most often find themselves short. Ask which of these your child is actually behind on before agreeing to a weekly rate.

Unit 1: Introduction to business management

SL and HL

Business types, sectors, objectives, stakeholders, growth and evolution, and the external environment read through STEEPLE. Usually the unit students feel safest in and the one that produces the most generic examination answers, because context-free stakeholder lists score badly. The teaching fix is forcing every point back onto the named organisation in the stimulus.

Unit 2: Human resource management

SL and HL

Organisational structure, leadership styles, motivation theory, industrial relations and change management. Motivation is the single most memorised and least applied topic in the course: a student can name four theorists and still not explain why a particular firm's absenteeism fell. Higher Level adds depth on organisational culture and employer-employee relations.

Unit 3: Finance and accounts

SL and HL

Sources of finance, costs and revenues, break-even, final accounts, ratio analysis, cash-flow forecasting and investment appraisal. This is the unit that buys most of the extra hours in an Ajman tutoring plan, because it is the only part of the course where a student can be straightforwardly wrong rather than merely thin. Higher Level extends investment appraisal further.

Unit 4: Marketing

SL and HL

Market research, segmentation, the marketing mix, branding, and international marketing. The marks sit in judgement rather than recall: choosing between a price skimming and a penetration strategy for a specific firm, with a reason drawn from the data given. Higher Level carries additional content on the extended mix and on marketing to a global audience.

Unit 5: Operations management

SL and HL

Production methods, quality management, location, supply chain, and research and development. Frequently the last unit taught and the first one forgotten, which is why it appears in so many April revision plans. Higher Level adds production planning and crisis management, both of which reward students who can read a numerical stimulus quickly.

The business management toolkit

SL core tools and HL extensions

SWOT, STEEPLE, Ansoff, the BCG matrix, business plans, circular business models and descriptive statistics, with several further techniques reserved for Higher Level. Toolkit questions are where Higher Level candidates lose marks silently: they recognise the tool, apply it mechanically, and never say what the output means for the firm in front of them.

Paper 1: the pre-released case study

SL and HL

A case study issued by the IB ahead of the examination session, which students study in advance and then answer unseen questions on. Preparation is genuinely front-loadable, which makes it the one component where a short block of paid sessions in the right months is better value than a weekly rate across two years.

Paper 2: data response

SL and HL

Unseen stimulus material with quantitative and qualitative data, answered under time pressure. Calculation accuracy matters, but the marks that separate a 4 from a 6 are in the evaluation strands: a judgement, supported from the data, with the limitation of that judgement acknowledged. Higher Level sits a longer paper with a more demanding extended response.

The business research project

SL and HL, marked in school

A research question about a real organisation, researched by the student and written up within a 1,800-word ceiling, marked by the school and moderated by the IB. Supervision is teaching and feedback on the student's own work only. Our tutors read drafts and question reasoning; they do not supply content, data or sentences.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three booking shapes cover almost every Business Management request from Ajman, and they cost different amounts because they contain different work. Choosing the wrong one is the most common way a family overspends: a weekly rate across two years when eight technique hours in the right month would have done the job.

Weekly unit teaching

A fixed hour each week against the five units, following the school's own sequence rather than a generic scheme of work. Most useful for a student who is behind on content, typically in finance and accounts, and for first-year Diploma students who need the habit of applying material to a named organisation from the start.

  • One hour a week, same slot, Gulf Standard Time
  • Follows the school's unit order and internal test dates
  • Marked questions returned before the next session
  • Pauses for school holidays without losing the slot

Pre-released case study block

A short, dated block of sessions once the case study for the session is in the student's hands. Work is on the organisation in the case: its market, its numbers, the decisions it faces, and the toolkit techniques most likely to be useful. This is front-loadable work, which is why it is better bought as a block than as an open-ended weekly rate.

  • Six to ten sessions, scheduled once the case is released
  • Annotation of the case against likely command terms
  • Timed Paper 1 sections under examination conditions
  • Ends when the preparation is done, not on a subscription

Research project supervision

Fortnightly hours across the life of the 1,800-word project, from narrowing a research question to reading a full draft. The tutor's role is to question, challenge and give feedback on the student's own writing and the student's own research. Content, data and sentences come from the student; this is the boundary the IB enforces and the one we hold to.

  • Research question narrowed against available evidence
  • Primary research plan reviewed before data is collected
  • Draft read once in full, with questions rather than rewrites
  • A written record of what was discussed, for the school's file

01

What the UAE market charges for a Diploma commerce hour, cheapest tier first

  • Cheapest published online hour: from AED 45–65 (EdFlik)
  • Qualified and online: AED 150–300, IB from AED 200 (Unitors)
  • IB specialist: AED 200–450+, with TutorChase at AED 270
  • Visiting hour with travel included: AED 180–500

Reading a rate card upwards from the bottom is more useful than reading it down from the top. The cheapest published hour in this market is an undergraduate or trainee tutor working online: EdFlik advertises from AED 45–65 and Tutopiya from AED 33–52. That hour is real and it has a real use — checking homework, re-teaching a definition, keeping a student company through a chapter of operations management. What it does not reliably do is move a Paper 2 evaluation mark, because evaluation is a trained habit rather than a piece of subject knowledge.

The next tier up is a qualified subject teacher working online, published between AED 150 and AED 300 an hour, with Unitors listing IB subjects from AED 200. For Standard Level Business Management, where the whole grade rests on two papers and the project, that is usually the right purchase. Above it sits the IB specialist band of AED 200 to AED 450 and beyond — TutorChase quotes AED 270, Bestimate puts the band at 200–450+ — which is where Higher Level candidates and research project supervision tend to land. The premium end, BartyED at AED 650, is a different product sold to a different anxiety.

The band that behaves differently from all the others is the visiting hour. Bestimate puts in-home tuition in the UAE at AED 180–350 and independent home tutors at 200–500, and those figures already include the drive. Monthly packages make the same point more plainly: around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions against AED 1,599–1,799 a month for four two-hour visits. Every number in this section belongs to the company that published it and was read in October 2026. These are Diploma Business Management hourly rates in AED as the market quotes them, not as we charge them.

The three things you are actually buying, priced separately

A single hourly rate hides the fact that Business Management tutoring is three different services with three different cost structures. Weekly unit teaching is the cheapest, because the content is stable, the preparation is reusable across students, and a competent commerce graduate can deliver it. Case study work is mid-priced and seasonal. Project supervision is the dearest, because an hour spent reading one student's draft cannot be spent on anyone else and cannot be prepared in advance.

Families who ask for a flat weekly rate across both Diploma years usually buy too much of the cheap thing and too little of the dear one. The pattern we see from Ajman households is a student who sat through fifty hours of unit revision and then wrote the research project alone in a fortnight. The reverse pattern costs less and scores better: lighter weekly contact, with paid hours concentrated into the case study window and the project drafting weeks.

The second useful split is between hours that need a Business Management specialist and hours that do not. Learning to read a balance sheet needs one. Building a revision timetable, checking that definitions are memorised, or practising calculation speed does not, and parents can supervise all three for nothing. Working out which column each task belongs in before anybody is paid is the single largest saving available on this page, and it costs an evening with the subject guide. Write the list out, mark the specialist tasks, and only then ask what an hour costs.

THE THREE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PURCHASES, COSTED SEPARATELY

03

The pre-released case study: the one line item with a shelf life

  • The case is released well before the session, through the school's coordinator
  • Preparation is genuinely front-loadable, unlike Paper 2 technique
  • Toolkit techniques must fit the firm, not be applied for their own sake
  • A dated block of sessions beats an open-ended weekly rate here

Paper 1 is unusual among Diploma papers because the organisation in it is known in advance. The IB issues the case study ahead of the examination session, schools distribute it through the Diploma coordinator, and students then face unseen questions on material they have had months to study. Nothing else in Business Management rewards early paid hours so directly, and nothing else wastes money so completely if the hours are bought at the wrong time.

The useful work on a released case is not reading it again. It is building the things the questions will ask for: the firm's objectives and the tension between them, its market and competitors, the numbers that can be calculated from what is given, and two or three toolkit techniques that genuinely fit rather than being bolted on. A student who has drawn the firm's position on an Ansoff grid and can say why that position is contested is in a different place from one who has highlighted the case in four colours.

For an Ajman family, the scheduling consequence is concrete. If the case arrives while a parent is still deciding whether to pay for tutoring at all, the cheap months are already running out. A block of six to ten sessions started early in the window costs less in total than a panicked specialist rate in the final weeks, and the market knows it: rates in this cluster are quoted higher closer to a session because demand rises, not because the teaching changes.

04

Finance and accounts, and why it decides the size of the bill

Across the requests we take from the northern emirates, one unit accounts for most of the extra hours bought: finance and accounts. The reason is structural. Everywhere else in Business Management a thin answer loses marks slowly, through weak application or missing judgement. In finance a student is simply right or wrong — the current ratio is calculated correctly or it is not, the cash-flow forecast balances or it does not — and wrong answers cost whole mark allocations at once.

The content that causes trouble is predictable: final accounts and what each line means, profitability and liquidity ratios and the difference between them, break-even analysis including the effect of a changed contribution, cash-flow forecasting as a document rather than a sum, and investment appraisal through payback and average rate of return, extended further at Higher Level. A student who can calculate but cannot interpret is the most common profile, and it is the cheapest to fix, because interpretation is a sentence pattern that can be taught in a handful of hours.

This is also where finance and accounts tutoring is worth paying specialist rates for. An undergraduate tutor at the bottom of the published band can usually check arithmetic. Explaining why a firm with a healthy profit figure still cannot pay its suppliers next month, in the language Paper 2 wants back, is a different job. Ask any prospective tutor to talk through a ratio set from an annual report in the free first lesson; it takes ten minutes and it tells you which band you are actually buying.

05

The business research project: 1,800 words, and where the hours go

The business research project is marked inside the school and moderated by the IB, and it is written to a ceiling of 1,800 words under the 2022 subject guide. Check the weighting and the current requirements against the copy of the guide your child's school holds, because a plan built on a superseded outline wastes both time and money. What does not change is the shape of the work: one research question about one real organisation, evidence the student gathers, and an argument that answers the question rather than describing the firm.

The hours divide unevenly. Narrowing the research question takes one or two sessions and saves ten, because a question that cannot be answered with available evidence fails slowly and expensively. Planning the research takes one. Then there is a long quiet stretch where the student collects and reads, and a tutor is close to useless. Drafting and redrafting is where paid hours return, and where the temptation to cross a line is strongest.

The line is not ambiguous. A tutor may teach method, question reasoning, point out that a conclusion is not supported by the evidence presented, and explain what a criterion is asking for. A tutor may not supply content, write or rewrite sentences, choose the organisation, or hand over an argument. Our tutors do not write a student's project, and we say so on the page because the alternative is sold openly in this market. A student submitting work that is not their own faces an IB malpractice finding, and that risk sits with the family, not the tutor.

An online hour against a visiting hour in Ajman

Parents in this emirate ask the comparison question honestly, so here is an honest answer. A visiting Business Management tutor in Ajman is a real market option, priced by published sources at AED 180–500 an hour with travel folded in, and some students genuinely work better with someone in the room. The constraint is supply. The number of adults living within a twenty-minute drive of Al Rawda who have taught this subject to Diploma standard is very small, and in practice the choice is between one or two people rather than a pool.

IB Gram does not offer home visits in the UAE; that service exists only in India. Lessons here run over live video, one to one, with a shared screen. The case for them is not that video is better in the abstract. It is that a student in Al Mowaihat gets a tutor chosen for having taught the finance unit to Higher Level candidates, rather than one chosen for living nearby, and that the forty minutes a visiting tutor would spend driving stays in the family's week instead of on its invoice.

The honest cost of the online route is a different one: it needs a quiet room, a charged device and a parent who checks that the session actually happened. Annual reports, ratio working and draft paragraphs all live on a shared screen, so a shaky connection costs real teaching minutes. Families who treat the first free lesson as a technical rehearsal as much as an academic one get a cleaner read on whether this format suits their child.

Who may lawfully take money for tutoring in Ajman

  • Permit basis: Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, issued through MoHRE
  • Issued free of charge for two years, with a two-working-day completion time
  • Ajman private schools sit under federal Ministry of Education supervision
  • A teacher may not take paid private work with their own school's students

Private tutoring in the UAE is a permitted activity, not an unregulated one. Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 introduced private tuition work permits, and the permit is issued through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation free of charge for two years. Eligible applicants include teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students, and school students aged 15 to 18. Individuals offering private tutoring without a permit are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws; no fine schedule is published, so no figure appears here.

The service to look for is MoHRE's own 'Issuance of a New Work Permit — Private Tutor Licensing', applied for through the ministry's smart app, website and e-services system, with a stated completion time of two working days and no listed fee. A parent in Ajman can ask any prospective tutor whether they hold the permit, and a tutor who bristles at the question is telling you something. IB Gram holds no regulator accreditation of any kind and does not claim one; we are an independent matching platform, not a licensed institute with premises.

Two further boundaries matter in this emirate. Private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah are supervised by the federal Ministry of Education, rather than by KHDA, ADEK or SPEA, so inspection reports and curriculum approvals follow a different route from Dubai's. And the permit's code of conduct bars a teacher from taking paid private work with students affiliated to their own school — which is why 'your child's own teacher, privately' is a request we decline rather than fulfil.

08

Two Diploma years of Business Management, costed against everything else

Tutoring is one line in a household budget that already carries school fees, transport and examination entries, and a rate only means something next to the rest. The table below sets the published market bands against a plausible two-year Business Management plan for an Ajman family. Figures marked as school-set are deliberately left open: fee levels and private-candidate entry charges are set by the school or the examination centre, and publishing an invented number would be worse than publishing none.

Read vertically, the arithmetic is reassuring. A plan built on roughly twenty-five paid hours across two years, concentrated in the case study window and the project drafting weeks, sits well below the cost of a standing weekly hour from the start of Year 12. Bestimate's own monthly estimates for a weekly one-hour session run AED 240–600 at the budget tier, 600–1,200 in the middle and 1,000–2,000 and above for specialist examination-year support, which gives a useful sense of how quickly a subscription outruns a targeted block.

Read horizontally, the lesson is about timing. Hours bought in October are worth more than hours bought in April, because in October a weak finance unit can still be rebuilt and a research question can still be changed. Families who come to us in the final six weeks are usually buying damage limitation at specialist rates. That is a legitimate purchase and we take it, but it is the most expensive version of this page's advice, and the cheapest version costs nothing but an evening with the subject guide.

Where we tutor

Where in Ajman families book from, and what the evening looks like

Area matters here for one reason: the school run and the commute decide what time a session can realistically start. Notes below describe the practical slot rather than the postcode, because an online lesson removes the distance but not the traffic that gets a parent home. Every area listed books the same subject hours at the same rate.

Al Nuaimiya

Dense, central and close to the Sharjah border, which makes a 5pm start workable for students who attend school within the emirate. Families commuting back from Dubai usually take the 7.30pm or 8pm slot instead.

Al Rashidiya

Older residential blocks near the corniche with a short school run. Students here are among the few who can hold a 4.30pm weekday slot, which is the cheapest time to find a specialist with availability.

Al Mowaihat

Villa communities spreading inland, with several Diploma families driving into Sharjah each morning. Sessions tend to land after 7pm on weekdays, with longer research project blocks moved to Saturday mornings.

Al Rawda

Residential and well served by the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road junctions, so a parent leaving Dubai Investments Park at 5.30pm is rarely home before 7pm. Project supervision works better here on a fixed weekend hour.

Al Jurf

Industrial and institutional in parts, with housing on the western edge. The practical constraint is a quiet room rather than a time slot, and we ask for one before a first lesson because annual report work needs a shared screen.

Al Helio

Newer family housing with a younger cohort, so Middle Years option conversations outnumber Diploma bookings. Where there is a Diploma student, the request is almost always finance and accounts rather than the whole course.

Al Zorah and Ajman Corniche

Lower density, longer drives to school, and households that often include a Dubai-based working parent. Weekend blocks dominate, and a two-hour Saturday research project session is the most common booking shape.

Emirates City and Al Yasmeen

High-rise and new-build stock with a mixed international population, including families who moved north from Dubai for space. Evening slots after 8pm are routine, and tutors working to Gulf Standard Time cover them without a surcharge.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Ajman

Ajman

Diploma Business Management inside the emirate is concentrated in a small number of schools, which is the supply fact behind every rate on this page. Students we support attend the schools below; a Business Management teacher is often a single-person department, so a second reader for a research project draft is genuinely hard to find locally.

  • Ajman Academy
  • Ajman Modern School
  • Habitat School Ajman
  • Ibn Seena English High School
  • Woodlem Park School Ajman

Sharjah and northern Dubai, within the daily commute

A large share of Ajman Diploma students travel out of the emirate for school, which is why a tutoring plan has to be built around a commute rather than a timetable. Schools in this cluster set their own internal research project deadlines, so two students living on the same street can be working to dates five weeks apart.

  • Victoria International School of Sharjah
  • Sharjah English School
  • GEMS Westminster School – Sharjah
  • Delhi Private School Sharjah

Schools are named only to describe the Ajman and northern-emirates education market that students we support attend; no affiliation, partnership or endorsement by any named school is implied or claimed.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Tell us which of the three purchases you need

A short form and a reply: the level, the school's internal project deadline, and whether the gap is content, case study technique or the research project. Naming the purchase at this point is what keeps the eventual number sensible, because it decides how many hours are needed and at which tier.

  2. 02

A free first lesson before any payment

A full session with the proposed tutor, at no charge and with no card held. Ask them to read a ratio set from a real annual report and explain it in Paper 2 language. Ten minutes of that tells you more about the tier you are buying than any profile page can.

  3. 03

Agree hours, slot and what is included

You see the hourly figure, whether it includes marking time, and whether VAT is included in what you are quoted. We confirm the Gulf Standard Time slot, the pause weeks for school holidays and Ramadan, and what happens to unused hours. Nothing starts until that is written down.

  4. 04

    Teach, mark, report

Sessions run on the shared screen, with marked work returned before the next one. You receive a short written note after each session saying what was covered and what the student owes before the next hour. For research project work, that note is also the record a school may ask to see.

  5. 05

Review the plan at each reporting point

After the school's next internal assessment, we reread the plan against the result rather than against the original guess. Hours move between purchases, drop away entirely, or concentrate before a session. A plan that never changes across two Diploma years was not a plan.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Every figure is attributed and dated

Each AED band on this page names the company that published it and the month it was read. Three of the six ranking competitors in this market publish no price at all, and two quote in US dollars. A parent in Ajman transacts in dirhams and deserves to see the working.

The project boundary is written down

Our tutors teach, question and give feedback on the student's own research project. They do not supply arguments or sentences. Completed internal assessments are sold openly in this market; a student who submits one faces an IB malpractice finding, and we will not be the route to that.

No accreditation we do not hold

IB Gram is an independent matching platform. We are not approved, licensed or endorsed by any education authority or examination board, we hold no training-institute permit, and we occupy no premises in the UAE. Any page claiming otherwise about itself is worth a second look.

A tutor chosen for the unit, not the postcode

Online delivery means a student in Al Helio can be matched to someone who has taught the finance unit to Higher Level candidates for years. Distance stops being a filter on the shortlist, which matters most in an emirate where the local Business Management pool is one or two people deep.

Scheduling built around a northern-emirates week

Late weekday slots for households commuting from Dubai, Saturday blocks for project drafting, and post-Iftar timings during Ramadan at no extra charge. Sessions pause for school holidays without losing the slot, because a plan that ignores the calendar gets abandoned in week six.

Honest about what we cannot do

We do not promise a grade, we do not send a tutor to a UAE address, and we tell you when no Business Management specialist is free in your preferred slot rather than filling it with a generalist. Disclosure costs us bookings and saves families money.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Ajman: your questions answered

What should an Ajman family expect to pay for Diploma Business Management tuition?+

Published UAE rates run from about AED 45–65 an hour for an undergraduate tutor online, through AED 150–300 for a qualified subject teacher, to AED 200–450 and beyond for an IB specialist. Visiting tutors are quoted at AED 180–500 with travel included. Those figures come from EdFlik, Tutopiya, Unitors, TutorChase and Bestimate's 2026 rate table, read in October 2026. IB Gram publishes no hourly list; the free first lesson and the consultation that follows are where our number is agreed, and the tier you need depends on whether you are buying content teaching, case study technique or project supervision.

Is the cheapest online tutor in the market enough for Standard Level Business Management?+

Sometimes, for part of the job. An hour at the bottom of the published band will re-teach a definition, check a break-even calculation and keep a student moving through operations management. It will usually not move a Paper 2 evaluation mark, because evaluation is an examiner habit: a judgement, supported from the stimulus, with its limitation stated. A sensible split is cheap hours for content catch-up and specialist hours for technique and the research project. Test the difference in a free first lesson by asking the tutor to mark one ten-mark answer and explain the mark.

Why does supervising the business research project cost more per hour than weekly teaching?+

Because the hour cannot be shared or prepared in advance. A unit lesson on marketing can be taught to any student with the same preparation behind it, which is why that tier sits lower in the market. Reading one student's draft, following their argument, and working out why their evidence does not support their conclusion is bespoke work that produces nothing reusable. Expect eight to fourteen supported hours across the project's life, concentrated at question-setting and drafting, with a long quiet stretch in the middle where the student is collecting data and a tutor adds very little.

Does Higher Level Business Management need more paid hours than Standard Level?+

Usually yes, and the difference is not evenly spread. Higher Level carries additional content in every unit, longer papers and a wider set of toolkit techniques, so weekly teaching takes more hours. The research project ceiling is the same 1,800 words at both levels, so supervision hours barely change. In practice a Higher Level plan adds roughly a third to the teaching hours and nothing to the project hours. Confirm the current weightings against your school's copy of the subject guide, because planning on a superseded outline wastes paid time.

Is it worth paying for case study sessions before the pre-released case arrives?+

Not much. Before the case is released there is nothing specific to study, and general Paper 1 practice overlaps heavily with ordinary unit teaching you are already paying for. Once the case is in your child's hands through the school's Diploma coordinator, a dated block of six to ten sessions becomes the best-value purchase on this page, because the work is genuinely front-loadable. Families who wait until the final weeks pay specialist rates for the same content under pressure, which is the most expensive way to buy it.

How many hours of finance and accounts support does a struggling Year 12 actually need?+

For a student who can calculate but cannot interpret, four to six hours is often enough, because interpretation is a sentence pattern that responds quickly to teaching. For a student who is genuinely wrong on final accounts, ratios and cash flow, budget twelve to fifteen hours across a term and expect marked work between sessions. Finance is the one unit where errors are binary rather than thin, which is why it buys most of the extra hours in Ajman plans and why it is worth a specialist rather than the cheapest available hour.

Are monthly Business Management packages better value than paying by the hour in Ajman?+

Only if you would genuinely use every session. Packages seen in this market run around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and AED 1,599–1,799 a month for four two-hour visits. A package rewards steady weekly use and punishes the pattern most Diploma families actually follow, which is light contact in autumn and heavy contact in the case study and drafting windows. Price both ways against your own calendar before committing, and ask what happens to unused sessions, because that answer is where the real cost difference sits.

Does a tutor based outside Ajman cost us more than one living nearby?+

No, and that is the point of the online format. Distance affects a visiting tutor's rate because travel time is paid for, which is why the published in-home band of AED 180–500 sits above comparable online bands. For a lesson delivered over live video, the tutor's location changes nothing about the hour you buy. What it changes is the shortlist: instead of choosing from the handful of people within a twenty-minute drive of your area, you choose from Diploma Business Management specialists and pick on teaching record.

Does IB Gram send a Business Management tutor to an address in Ajman?+

No. IB Gram does not offer home visits anywhere in the UAE; visiting tuition is a service we run only in India. Every lesson for an Ajman family is delivered one-to-one over live video, with a shared screen for annual reports, ratio working and project drafts. We say so plainly because the phrase parents search for is a home tutor, and it would be easy to let that assumption stand. If having someone physically in the room is non-negotiable for your child, the local market does exist at AED 180–500 an hour and you should use it.

Can a tutor choose my daughter's research project organisation and question?+

No, and a tutor who offers to is creating a malpractice risk that lands on your daughter rather than on them. The organisation and the research question must be hers. What a tutor may legitimately do is ask whether the evidence she needs actually exists, point out that a question is too broad to answer in 1,800 words, explain what each assessment criterion is asking for, and read one full draft and return it with questions rather than rewrites. That boundary is the difference between supervision and a submission that cannot be defended.

Do the AED tutoring figures on this page include VAT?+

The competitor rates quoted here are published without a stated tax treatment, so treat them as advertised figures and ask each provider directly what their number includes. We will not state the UAE tax position on tuition fees on this page, because that is a Federal Tax Authority matter and an unsourced claim about it would be worse than none. What we will do is tell you, before you agree anything, whether the figure quoted to you by IB Gram is inclusive. Ask the same question of every provider you shortlist.

Which authority inspects my child's private school in Ajman, and does it affect tutoring?+

The federal Ministry of Education supervises private schools in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, where Dubai schools answer to KHDA, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to ADEK, and Sharjah to the Sharjah Private Education Authority. For tutoring the practical effect is indirect but real: inspection reporting and curriculum approval follow a different route here, and a school's internal deadlines for the research project are set locally rather than by the regulator. Ask the Diploma coordinator for those dates before you buy any hours.

Does a Business Management tutor working with Ajman students need a government permit?+

An individual providing private lessons in the UAE needs a private tuition work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and issued through MoHRE free of charge for two years. Teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and students aged 15 to 18 may all apply; the MoHRE service is listed as Issuance of a New Work Permit — Private Tutor Licensing, with a two-working-day completion time. Tutoring without one carries fines and penalties under the applicable laws. Ask any tutor the question directly before you pay.

What happens if no Business Management specialist is free in our evening slot?+

We tell you, rather than filling the hour with a generalist and hoping. Business Management is a thinner specialism than Mathematics or Physics, and a late weekday slot that suits a family commuting back from Dubai is the most contested time in our week. The usual options are a different evening, a Saturday block for project work, or a waiting period of a week or two for the right tutor. If none of those work, we say so. A mismatched specialist is worse value than no tutor at AED 45 an hour.

We have eight weeks before the papers. What is the cheapest useful plan?+

Eight weeks is enough for technique and not enough for content rebuilding, so spend accordingly. Buy six to ten specialist hours on Paper 2 evaluation and timed Paper 1 work against the released case, and do the recall drilling at home for nothing. Do not start a new research project strategy now; it is marked in school and the deadline has almost certainly passed. Expect specialist rather than budget rates, because demand in this cluster rises before a session. A plan at AED 270 an hour for eight hours beats forty cheap hours bought in panic.

Price the purchase, then book the hour

An IB DP Business Management tutor in Ajman is worth paying for when you know which of three things you are buying: unit teaching, case study technique, or supervision of the 1,800-word research project. Each sits at a different point in the published AED bands, and each is worth most at a different point in the Diploma calendar. Tell us the level, the school's internal deadline and where the grade is now, and we will propose hours rather than a subscription. The first lesson is free, lessons run one-to-one over live video to Gulf Standard Time, and nothing is charged until you have seen the tutor teach.
