IB Tutor near me in Al Nahda

Typing IB tutor near me in Al Nahda is really a question about time: who can be in front of your child during the ninety minutes the school run leaves open. This page sets out what a ten-minute radius actually buys you here, what the Diploma week looks like once the mandatory UAE subjects are counted in, and how the deadline stack runs.

  • Lessons over live video; no tutor is sent to a UAE address
  • Slots planned around bus arrival and mandatory-subject homework
  • Matched to the exact Diploma course, not the subject name
  • Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies counted into the week

IB & IGCSE in Al Nahda

What a ten-minute radius buys in Al Nahda, and what it quietly costs

The phrase near me is a proxy for something more specific: a person who can be with your child inside the window the day leaves open. In Al Nahda that window is tight and predictable. Schools across this catchment finish between roughly 14:30 and 15:15. Buses along Al Nahda Road and Damascus Street put most students home between 15:00 and 15:45, later for those travelling to Al Garhoud, Festival City or across the Sharjah boundary. From 16:30 Al Ittihad Road beside the neighbourhood carries one of the heaviest commuter flows in the country.

So the honest translation of near me in this neighbourhood is: somebody who lives within about ten minutes of Al Nahda Pond Park and is free at 16:00 or 20:00. That is a small set of people, and it is small for reasons that have nothing to do with whether they know your child's subject. A family filtering that way is not choosing the best available tutor. They are choosing the best tutor inside a circle drawn by traffic. A circle on a map is a poor proxy for a teacher who knows the course your child is actually sitting, and in this neighbourhood the circle is drawn tighter than almost anywhere in the emirate.

What the circle costs becomes clear once you look at the Diploma properly. A Diploma student takes six subjects, three usually at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Mathematics alone is four distinct courses. Chemistry HL under the current guide is a different teaching job from Chemistry SL. English A Language and Literature is not English B. Across six subjects, the chance that the right specialist for the one that is actually failing lives inside a ten-minute radius of Al Nahda is low, and it does not improve by searching harder.

There is also a load question nobody in this market writes about. A Dubai Diploma student carries Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies alongside the licensed international curriculum, because KHDA requires them in all private schools regardless of curriculum. Those are real lessons with real homework, and KHDA calculates their instructional time using a 40-minute lesson unit while allowing schools to vary lesson length provided the weekly total is met. Any plan that treats the Diploma as six subjects plus free evenings is a plan built on a week that does not exist.

IB Gram delivers one-to-one tuition over live video on Gulf Standard Time. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE; home visits are a service we run only in India, stated identically on every UAE page here so a reader can check it is policy. What that gives an Al Nahda family is the ability to put the right specialist in the 16:00 or 20:00 slot rather than the nearest one, and to move the slot without anybody having to cross the city.

At a glance

  • Near me in Al Nahda means within ten minutes and free at 16:00 or 20:00 - a small set
  • A Diploma student takes six subjects plus TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS
  • Mathematics alone is four distinct courses; HL and SL are different teaching jobs
  • Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies run alongside, with homework
  • Course-matching over video replaces a circle drawn by traffic
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

An IB education in Dubai runs across three programmes with quite different support needs, and the near-me problem is worst in the middle one. Here is what each asks.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects across six groups, three usually at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Each subject has its own internal assessment with its own criteria and its own school deadline, which is why the second year feels less like studying and more like running a project portfolio under examination pressure.

The Diploma cohorts nearest Al Nahda sit mainly in Al Mamzar, Al Garhoud and Festival City rather than in Al Nahda itself. So a family here is usually arranging help for a child who travels to school, which shortens the usable afternoon and makes the evening window the dependable one.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

Assessed against four criteria per subject from 0 to 8 rather than through papers. The scarce skill is criterion literacy, not advanced content: plenty of people can teach MYP 3 science, far fewer can explain why a student scored 4 on inquiring and designing and what would move it.

This is where the near-me search fails hardest, because local tutors in a catchment dominated by Indian-curriculum and British-track schools have often never seen a criterion report. Ask any tutor to name the four criteria for your child's subject group before paying anything.

PYPAges 3-12 · Foundation to Year 6

Primary Years Programme

Inquiry-led, transdisciplinary and without external examinations. Support is about reading fluency, number confidence and working habits rather than subject content, and short frequent sessions beat long ones at this age.

The one stage where a parent's wish for someone physically present is hardest to argue with, and we say so rather than selling around it. A young child who will not engage with a screen is a genuine limit on what online delivery can do well.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Across the Diploma subjects Al Nahda families ask about, the near-me problem varies in severity. These are the requests we see with a note on how far the geographic filter actually costs you in each.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

Calculus and proof led, with a non-calculator Paper 1 that examines manipulation directly and a third paper at Higher Level. The most requested subject in this catchment and the one where a course mismatch is easiest to make, because AA and AI share a timetable line and almost nothing else.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

Statistics and modelling led with a calculator throughout. Marks sit in choosing the right test, stating a hypothesis properly and writing a conclusion in context. A strong AA tutor can be a weak fit here, which is why the course code matters more than the subject name.

Chemistry

HL and SL

Six themes under Structure and Reactivity, two papers, and a scientific investigation worth a fifth of the grade. Higher Level organic mechanisms are among the scarcest teaching skills in the UAE market, and proximity does nothing to improve the odds of finding them nearby.

Physics

HL and SL

Five themes with data-based questions inside Paper 1. Needs longer unbroken sessions than most subjects, which makes the near-me arithmetic worse: a ninety-minute visit is a two-and-a-half hour commitment for anyone travelling into Al Nahda at peak.

Biology

HL and SL

Content-heavy with marks concentrated in precise written explanation and data interpretation. One of the better-supplied Diploma subjects, which means this is a case where a nearby tutor may genuinely be a reasonable match.

Economics and Business Management

HL and SL

Diagrams, definitions, evaluation and internal assessment commentaries. Students lose marks by describing where the command word asked them to evaluate, and by drawing a correct diagram without referring to it in the answer.

English A and Language B

HL and SL

Unseen commentary, the individual oral and the learner portfolio in English A; receptive, productive and interactive skills in a Language B. The oral components are the ones students prepare least, and they rehearse well over video.

Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and internal assessments

All Diploma students

No textbook, three sets of criteria and a stack of school deadlines. A tutor may teach the criteria, interrogate a research question and mark a draft against the descriptors. A tutor may not write, redraft to completion or choose the topic, and the work must be the student's own.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways an Al Nahda family can arrange Diploma support, separated mainly by whether the clock or the tutor does the travelling.

Course-matched online, what IB Gram delivers

A fixed weekly slot with a tutor matched to the exact Diploma course and level, over live video on Gulf Standard Time, with written work photographed and annotated during the session. Nobody travels, so the slot can sit at 16:00 or at 20:00 and can move without a journey being wasted.

  • Matched to AA or AI, HL or SL, and to the component in question
  • Slots from 15:45 to 21:30 Gulf Standard Time
  • Internal assessment checkpoints set against the school's deadlines
  • Free trial lesson first: one lesson with the matched tutor

A nearby tutor travelling to you

What the near-me search is literally asking for. Published Dubai in-home rates run roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour inclusive of travel. The genuine advantages are presence and independence from household broadband; the genuine costs are the premium, one session a week rather than two, and a tutor selected by willingness to drive.

  • Published band: roughly AED 180-500 an hour (Bestimate; independents)
  • Monthly packages seen: about AED 1,599-1,799 for four two-hour visits
  • Pool limited to those free and willing to travel at peak
  • IB Gram does not provide this anywhere in the UAE

School support plus one targeted slot

Use what the school already provides - subject surgeries, the IB coordinator, the Extended Essay supervisor - and buy one targeted outside session for the single subject that is actually failing. The cheapest arrangement on this page and the one we recommend most often to families who are close to coping.

  • Costs a third of a multi-subject plan
  • Requires a diagnosis first, so the hour is aimed correctly
  • Keeps the school's own support in the picture
  • Reviewed against the next report, then stopped or extended

01

The radius trade-off, written out: what you gain and lose by searching nearby

Set the two filters side by side rather than arguing for one. Filtering by distance gives you presence, a short commute for nobody, independence from broadband, and a tutor who may know your child's school by reputation. Those are real benefits and for some students they are decisive. Filtering by course gives you a specialist in the exact syllabus your child sits, availability across the whole Gulf evening rather than one neighbourhood's spare hours, and the ability to replace a bad fit without restarting the search.

The question is which of those matters more for the specific problem in front of you. For a Year 8 who needs supervision and company while they work, proximity is a reasonable buy. For a Year 13 three weeks from a chemistry investigation deadline, or a Year 12 who has just discovered that Analysis and Approaches Paper 1 is sat without a calculator, the specialist matters and no amount of proximity substitutes.

There is a second-order effect worth naming. A tutor chosen for proximity is usually asked to cover more than one subject, because the family has already accepted the constraint and wants value from the relationship. That is how a maths tutor ends up handling physics, and how a physics hour quietly becomes another maths hour. A tutor chosen by course does one job and is judged on it, which is less convenient and considerably more honest.

Finally, the replacement question. If a nearby tutor turns out to be a poor fit, the family is back to a short list defined by the same circle. If a course-matched tutor turns out to be a poor fit, the next candidate comes from the same large pool. Fit failures are common and usually have nothing to do with competence - pace, manner, how much the student is allowed to speak - so the cost of replacement is part of the decision rather than a footnote to it.

The Diploma week in Al Nahda with the mandatory UAE subjects counted in

Most tutoring plans fail on arithmetic rather than on teaching, and the arithmetic that is usually missing is the mandatory subject load. In Dubai, Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are required in all private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum, with KHDA stating that the requirements must be implemented by the start of the 2025-26 academic year, or April 2026 for schools whose year begins in April. These are timetabled lessons that set homework, not a cultural footnote.

KHDA calculates mandatory-subject instructional time using a 40-minute lesson unit, allows schools to vary lesson length provided the weekly total is met, and advises that any mandatory-subject lesson should run at least 25 minutes. It also requires separate classes by group: for Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, schools must organise separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs, and combined classes for both groups are strictly prohibited because of different curriculum expectations and language of instruction.

Add that to six Diploma subjects, three of them at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge sessions and whatever CAS commitment the school runs, and the genuinely free evening time in a term-time week is smaller than almost any family estimates before they write it down. The practical consequence is that a Diploma student in Al Nahda can sustain one or two outside sessions a week, not four, and that choosing which subject gets them is the real decision.

The week below is how the families we work with in this catchment actually describe it. Note what it implies: the short weekday window is for correction and drilling, the evening window is for anything that needs an unbroken run, and Saturday morning is the only block in the week where a timed paper can be sat properly and marked. A plan that uses Saturday for a general catch-up has wasted the most valuable hour available to it.

Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies: the subjects nobody tutors for

This is one of the clearest gaps in the whole UAE tutoring market. Across the competitor pages researched for these queries, Arabic appears as a subject chip and almost never as a section, and Islamic Education and UAE Social Studies barely appear at all. Yet every Dubai private school student carries them alongside the Diploma or IGCSE, they generate homework and reports, and a weak Arabic grade sits on the same report as the subjects everyone is paying attention to.

The rules are specific and worth understanding before arranging any help. KHDA requires separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, and states that combined classes for both groups are strictly prohibited because of different curriculum expectations and language of instruction. Standard Arabic is required as the main language of instruction for Islamic Education for Arabs and for Arabic as a first language; Arabic is the primary language for Social Studies for Arab students; and the school's licensed-curriculum language applies for non-Arabs in Islamic Education and in moral, social and cultural studies.

There is also a constraint on material that any tutor should know about. For the mandatory UAE subjects, the use of any different or additional content without prior permission from the Ministry of Education is strictly prohibited. That means a tutor cannot sensibly bring their own alternative curriculum to these subjects, and should be working from what the school actually uses. Schools are required to ensure that all teachers of Islamic Education and Arabic hold appropriate KHDA approval to teach these subjects - a credential point that applies to school staff and is worth knowing exists.

Practically, for an Al Nahda family: establish which stream your child is in - Arabic as a first language or as an additional language, Islamic Education for Arabs or non-Arabs - because the course, the language of instruction and the expectations all differ. Then decide whether the problem is language acquisition, content, or written expression under assessment, since those need different help. Support here is usually about building reading fluency and written accuracy over a sustained period rather than a short exam push.

The deadline stack: why the Diploma feels harder than its subjects

Families often arrive looking for help with a subject when the real problem is a calendar. A Diploma student carries an internal assessment in most of their six subjects, each with its own criteria and its own school-set deadline, plus the Extended Essay with a supervisor and interim deadlines, plus Theory of Knowledge with an essay and an exhibition. None of those deadlines is set by the IB directly for the student; they are set earlier by the school so that marking and uploading can happen in time.

The consequence is a stack rather than a sequence. Year 12 term two is when Extended Essay topics and several internal assessment proposals land together. Year 12 term three carries the first full internal examinations. Year 13 term one is when the Extended Essay goes to the school, several internal assessments are submitted and TOK work is completed. Year 13 term two is mocks, which generate the predicted grades universities see. By the May session there should be nothing left to learn.

This is why the most valuable early conversation with a tutor is often about sequencing rather than content. A student three weeks from two internal assessment deadlines does not need a syllabus plan; they need to know which to finish first and what good enough looks like against the criteria for each. A student in Year 12 term one needs the opposite: content diagnosis and a bridging list, because that is the only term in which there is time to use one.

We do not publish IB session or results dates on these pages. The IB sets them, secondary sources disagree, and a date a parent acts on has to be right - so confirm every IB deadline with your child's IB coordinator or on ibo.org. For Cambridge and Pearson qualifications on the way in, the published pattern is firmer: Cambridge runs June and November for UAE candidates, with the February and March series offered to India only, and Pearson runs May/June and November, its November final timetable having run from late October to 19 November 2026.

What a parent can verify before paying, nearby or not

  • Permit: MoHRE private tuition work permit, free for two years, two working days
  • Course: the exact Diploma course and the component worked on most recently
  • Boundary: what the tutor will refuse to do on an internal assessment
  • Price: a named source and a date for every figure quoted
  • Statistics: n, date and method, or treat the number as decoration

Whichever filter you use, the checks are the same and most of them cost nothing. Start with the permit, because it is public and free. Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated: the MoHRE private tuition work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and is granted free of charge for two years, applied for through MoHRE's own private tutor licensing service, which lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time. Because it costs nothing, a working tutor has no financial reason to lack one, and anyone tutoring without it is subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws.

Second, verify the course rather than the subject. Ask which exact Diploma course the tutor teaches - Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, Higher or Standard - and which component of it they have worked on most recently. Then ask what they would refuse to do on an internal assessment. The right answer is explicit: they will not write it, redraft it to completion, choose the topic or supply the content, because the work must be the student's own under IB academic-honesty rules.

Third, verify the price claim. Every AED figure on this page is somebody else's published rate, read in October 2026, and you can check each one: Bestimate's Dubai rate table for the in-home band of roughly AED 180 to 350 and the specialist band of AED 200 to 450-plus; Unitors for IGCSE from AED 150 and IB from AED 200; TutorChase at AED 270; BartyED at AED 650; Tutopiya from around AED 33 to 52 and EdFlik from AED 45 to 65 at the budget end. A provider who will not name a source for a figure has given you a reason to discount it.

Fourth, treat statistics as claims. If a tutoring page shows a satisfaction percentage, a star rating or a student count, ask for the underlying data with the number of respondents, the date and the method. Research into this market found pages publishing two different review scores on the same page, and one showing a rating from twenty reviews beside a claim about its own student numbers in the thousands. We publish none of those figures, which is less persuasive and more defensible.

06

When the Diploma itself is the problem rather than one subject

A meaningful share of the enquiries we take from this catchment name a subject and turn out to be about load. The student is not failing chemistry; they are failing to finish anything, because six subjects, three internal assessments in flight, an Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, a CAS commitment and the mandatory Arabic and Islamic Education homework have produced a week with no slack in it. Buying a weekly chemistry hour against that does not help, and sometimes makes it worse by adding another stream of homework.

The diagnostic question is simple and rarely asked: in the last fortnight, what did your child start and not finish, and why did it stop? If the answer is that the work was too hard, it is a subject problem and a specialist is the right purchase. If the answer is that something else became more urgent, it is a sequencing problem, and the right purchase is one or two sessions on triage rather than a term of teaching. The two feel identical to a parent and need opposite responses.

Triage in the Diploma has a fairly standard shape. List every outstanding deliverable with its real school deadline, not the one the student remembers. Identify which are criterion-marked and therefore have a defined standard to reach rather than an open-ended one. Decide what good enough looks like for the lowest-stakes item and finish it first, because momentum matters more than order of difficulty. Then protect one evening a week with nothing scheduled in it at all, which is the single change that most often holds a term together.

There is a point at which a tutor is the wrong person to ask, and a page like this should say so. If a student has stopped sleeping, stopped attending or stopped caring, that is a conversation with the school's IB coordinator and the pastoral team rather than a purchase. We would say the same to a family in Al Nahda who asked us, and we would rather lose the booking than take money for something tutoring cannot fix.

07

Getting started from Al Nahda, and the fallback when nobody suitable is free

Send the subject block rather than a subject. The six Diploma courses with their levels, which one is actually the problem, the school and the emirate it sits in, the year group, and the two time windows that genuinely work on a school night. Most enquiries from this neighbourhood name a subject and omit the window, and the window is what determines whether a plan holds past week three given the arrival times and mandatory-subject load described above.

The first lesson is a free trial with the matched tutor - one lesson, one tutor, with the fee discussed afterwards. It is a fit decision, not a sales call. The tutor teaches something real rather than interviewing your child, and you and the student both say afterwards whether the explanation landed. If it did not, say so and we match again, which is the main practical advantage of choosing from a large pool rather than a small circle.

On availability, stated plainly because most providers do not. Higher Level specialists concentrate in the same two hours of the Gulf evening, and in October and in the weeks before mocks those hours fill. If nobody suitable is free in your window, you hear it at the match stage with three options: a different slot with the right specialist, a tutor with adjacent expertise starting now while we hold the specialist slot, or a wait with a date attached. A disclosed wait is cheaper for a family than a confident mismatch.

And the limits, since this page is about honesty regarding what near me buys. We do not send tutors to homes anywhere in the UAE; home visits are a service we run only in India. We operate no office, centre or branch in the Emirates. We hold no approval, accreditation, licence or partnership from KHDA, the Sharjah Private Education Authority, ADEK, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson. And we will not write a student's internal assessment, Extended Essay or Theory of Knowledge essay, whatever the deadline pressure.

Where we tutor

Nearby areas we cover around Al Nahda

Near me means something different on each side of this neighbourhood. Here is the practical picture and what it does to a session time.

Al Nahda 1 and 2, Dubai

Apartment living around Al Nahda Pond Park, close to the Green Line. Students at nearby schools can be home by 15:15, which makes this the part of the area where a 15:45 start is genuinely workable.

Al Nahda, Sharjah

Across the boundary and under Sharjah's own education authority, which approves fees, curricula and assessment methods as well as regulating quality. Cross-boundary school journeys produce the least predictable arrival times in the catchment.

Al Qusais

Immediately south along Damascus Street, sharing schools and bus routes. Arrival windows and realistic session times are effectively identical, which is why advice for one usually transfers to the other.

Al Mamzar

Coastal and villa-heavy, with one of the catchment's established Diploma cohorts. Most Higher Level requests from this area originate here, and they are the hardest to match within any radius.

Al Garhoud and Festival City

South across the airport road, where several Diploma classes sit. The longest school days in the catchment once co-curricular commitments count, which makes the 20:00 slot the dependable one for these students.

Hor Al Anz and Al Muteena

Older Deira streets with mixed curricula and short commutes. Families moving into the IB from another system often start here, and the first need is the programme explained rather than a subject taught.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Al Nahda

Al Mamzar, Al Garhoud and Festival City

Where the Diploma cohorts nearest Al Nahda actually sit. The implication for a near-me search is blunt: the schools are close enough but the specialist teaching those courses is not necessarily in the neighbourhood at all.

  • Al Ittihad Private School, Al Mamzar
  • Deira International School
  • Universal American School, Dubai
  • Al Mawakeb School, Al Garhoud

Al Nahda, Al Qusais and Oud Metha

Predominantly Indian-curriculum and British-track schools running CBSE or IGCSE routes to sixteen. A large share of this catchment's IB students have come into the programme from one of these, which is why transition support is a common first request.

  • The Westminster School, Dubai
  • Dubai Scholars Private School
  • The Millennium School, Dubai
  • St Mary's Catholic High School, Dubai
  • Apple International School

Named schools appear as context for this neighbourhood's school ecosystem and the programmes its students follow; no affiliation, endorsement or partnership is implied, and current programme authorisation should be confirmed with the school and against the relevant regulator's own published school listing.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the subject block, not one subject

All six Diploma courses with levels, plus which one is actually failing. The surrounding load is what decides how many outside sessions a student can sustain, and that is usually one or two rather than the three or four families first imagine.

  2. 02

Name the two windows that genuinely work

Arrival in Al Nahda runs from roughly 15:00 to 15:45 and later for cross-boundary journeys, so tell us whether 15:45 is realistic or whether your household only functions after 19:30. This is the item most enquiries leave out.

  3. 03

Decide fit in the free trial lesson

One lesson with the matched tutor, fee discussed afterwards. Judge whether the explanations land and whether your child speaks for a reasonable share of the hour. A poor fit discovered in week one costs nothing; in month three it costs a term.

  4. 04

Work to the school's deadline stack

Checkpoints are set against the school's internal assessment and Extended Essay dates rather than at an arbitrary session count. When the diagnosed list is closed and the next deadline is clear, we say so instead of renewing by default.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The right tutor beats the nearest tutor

A ten-minute radius around Al Nahda Pond Park at 16:00 is a small set of people chosen by traffic rather than by subject. Matching on the exact Diploma course gives a family here the same pool a Dubai Marina family has.

The mandatory subjects are in the plan

Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are required in all Dubai private schools and set homework like anything else. We schedule around that load rather than pretending the Diploma occupies an otherwise empty week.

Deadlines, not just syllabus

Internal assessments, the Extended Essay and TOK all carry school-set deadlines that stack in Year 12 term two and Year 13 term one. Sequencing them is often more valuable than teaching more content, and we say so when it is.

Every figure traceable

The AED bands here belong to Bestimate, Unitors, TutorChase, BartyED, Tutopiya and EdFlik, each named and dated October 2026. We publish no satisfaction rate, star rating or student count, because we could not produce the data if you asked.

Replacement is easy, and that matters

Fit failures are common and usually about pace and manner rather than competence. Choosing from a large pool means the next candidate is immediate; choosing from a neighbourhood circle means starting the search again.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Al Nahda: your questions answered

Is searching for an IB tutor near me in Al Nahda actually a good way to find one?+

It is a reasonable instinct and a poor filter here. Near me in this neighbourhood means within about ten minutes of Al Nahda Pond Park and free at 16:00 or 20:00, which is a small set of people selected by geography rather than by subject. A Diploma student takes six subjects and mathematics alone is four distinct courses, so the chance that the right specialist for the failing subject lives inside that circle is low. Matching by course over video replaces a circle drawn by traffic with the whole Gulf evening.

How many outside sessions a week can a Diploma student in Al Nahda sustain?+

One or two, not four. Six subjects with three at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, already fill the week. On top of that every Dubai private school student carries Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies as mandatory subjects that set homework of their own. Once bus arrival between roughly 15:00 and 15:45 is counted, two usable windows remain on a school night. Choosing which subject gets them is the real decision, and a diagnosis should make it.

Do the mandatory UAE subjects really affect a Diploma tutoring plan?+

Substantially, and almost no tutoring page mentions them. Arabic, Islamic Education and Social or Moral Studies are required in all Dubai private schools regardless of the licensed international curriculum. KHDA calculates their instructional time using a 40-minute lesson unit, allows schools to vary lesson length provided the weekly total is met, and advises at least 25 minutes per mandatory-subject lesson. They are timetabled lessons with homework, so the genuinely free evening time in a term-time week is smaller than families estimate before writing it down.

Can we get tutoring for Arabic or Islamic Education alongside the Diploma?+

It is worth asking about and the rules matter. KHDA requires separate classes for Arabs and non-Arabs in Arabic as a first language, Islamic Education and Social Studies, and prohibits combined classes because of different curriculum expectations and language of instruction. Standard Arabic is the language of instruction for Islamic Education for Arabs and for Arabic as a first language. Also note that using different or additional content for these subjects without prior Ministry of Education permission is prohibited, so support should work from what the school actually uses.

Which Diploma courses are hardest to find a tutor for near Al Nahda?+

Higher Level chemistry organic mechanisms and Higher Level physics, followed by anything involving marking an internal assessment against published descriptors. Those require someone who has taught the current guide rather than someone who studied the subject, and proximity does nothing to improve the odds. Biology and Standard Level content are better supplied, and for those a nearby tutor may genuinely be a reasonable match. We say which category your request falls into at the match stage rather than after a payment.

What is the deadline stack and why does it matter more than the syllabus?+

Each of a Diploma student's six subjects carries an internal assessment with its own criteria and school-set deadline, alongside the Extended Essay with interim dates and Theory of Knowledge with an essay and exhibition. Those deadlines cluster in Year 12 term two and Year 13 term one rather than arriving in sequence. A student three weeks from two submissions needs help deciding which to finish first and what meets the descriptors, not a syllabus plan. Sequencing is frequently the most valuable thing an outside tutor provides.

Why will you not publish IB exam and results dates on this page?+

Because we have not been able to verify them from the IB itself, and a date a parent acts on has to be right. Secondary sources disagree with each other, and the cost of being wrong is a family planning a revision schedule or a flight around a date that moves. Confirm every IB session, upload and results date with your child's IB coordinator or on ibo.org. Cambridge and Pearson dates are better documented and we do cite those, with the live official timetable as the authority.

What should I ask a tutor before paying, whether they are nearby or online?+

Four things. Do you hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit - it is free for two years, so there is no cost reason not to. Which exact Diploma course do you teach, and which component have you worked on most recently. What will you refuse to do on an internal assessment - the right answer names writing, redrafting to completion, choosing the topic and supplying content. And for any figure or statistic they quote, what is the source and the date. Evasion on any of these is itself an answer.

Is it cheaper to use the school's own support rather than a tutor?+

Often, and we recommend it to families who are close to coping. Subject surgeries, the IB coordinator, the Extended Essay supervisor and the school's own revision sessions are already paid for in the fees. The sensible arrangement for many Al Nahda households is to use all of that and buy one targeted outside session for the single subject that is genuinely failing, which costs a third of a multi-subject plan. That needs a diagnosis first so the hour is aimed correctly rather than spread.

How quickly can a tutor be matched for an Al Nahda Diploma student?+

For well-supplied requests - Standard Level content, biology, IGCSE-to-Diploma bridging - usually within a few days. For a named Higher Level specialist, longer, because demand concentrates in the same two hours of the Gulf evening and those hours fill in October and before mocks. You hear the position at the match stage with three options: a different slot with the right specialist, adjacent expertise starting now while we hold the specialist slot, or a wait with a date against it.

Do you provide IB tutors who travel to homes in Al Nahda?+

No. Every UAE lesson we arrange runs one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time, and home visits are a service we operate only in India. There is no IB Gram office, centre or branch in the Emirates. The Dubai market does supply in-home tutors at published rates of roughly AED 180 to 500 an hour inclusive of travel, with monthly packages around AED 1,599 to 1,799 for four two-hour visits. Where presence genuinely matters - a young child who will not use a screen - that is the right purchase and we say so.

Our broadband is unreliable. Is online tutoring still workable?+

Check it before committing, because this is one of the two cases where we would not argue with a family choosing presence instead. A lesson that drops out twice an hour is worse than no lesson, and no amount of course-matching fixes it. Test a video call at your intended session time, since evening congestion differs from daytime. If it holds, the format works well for written subjects in particular. If it does not, buy presence and accept the premium and the lower session frequency deliberately.

Does our school being in Sharjah rather than Dubai change the plan?+

It can, because Al Nahda spans the boundary. Sharjah's private schools are regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority, which approves tuition fees, curricula, programmes, courses, activities and assessment methods as well as regulating quality, while the Dubai side answers to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. Term dates, internal assessment calendars and even the board a school uses can differ. Tell us which emirate the school sits in and send its calendar, so the schedule is built around your dates rather than the Dubai default.

What happens if the first matched tutor is not right for our child?+

You say so and we match again, from the same large pool rather than from a neighbourhood circle. That is the practical argument for course-matching that families notice most. Fit failures are common and usually have nothing to do with competence - pace, manner, how much the student is allowed to talk, whether the tutor asks or tells. The free trial lesson exists for exactly this decision, which is why it is one lesson with the matched tutor and why the fee is discussed afterwards.

Replace the radius with the course

Searching for an IB tutor near me in Al Nahda is a search for someone who can be with your child in the window the day leaves open, and that window is real: home between roughly 15:00 and 15:45, Arabic and Islamic Education homework to do, Al Ittihad Road solid from 16:30. What changes the outcome is replacing the radius with the course - the exact Diploma course and the component that is actually failing - and keeping the slot where your household can hold it. Send the subject block, the school, the emirate and your two workable windows, and the first lesson is a free trial with the matched tutor, one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time.
