IGCSE October November Exam Preparation in Abu Dhabi

IGCSE October November exam preparation in Abu Dhabi is a short, costed job with a fixed end date. Cambridge and Pearson both run a November sitting, entries close months before the first paper, and results land in January. This page prices that work in AED, names what changes the number in this emirate, and sets out the calendar backwards from results day. Lessons run one-to-one over live video, timed to Gulf Standard Time around the school week.

  • Entry windows and results dates taken from the boards' own timetable pages
  • AED bands quoted as market rates, with the source named each time
  • Marked past-paper work returned with a mark-by-mark breakdown
  • Lessons delivered one-to-one over live video, never a group class

IB & IGCSE in Abu Dhabi

A November sitting is a budget and a calendar, not an open-ended plan

Families searching for IGCSE October November exam preparation in Abu Dhabi are almost never starting from scratch. They have a June grade that fell short, a subject dropped mid-year, a mid-cycle arrival from another school system, or a private candidate who needs one certificate before a university offer firms up. Every one of those situations has the same two hard edges: an entry deadline that sits months before the first paper, and a results date in January that somebody else is waiting on. Work out those two dates first and the rest of the plan writes itself.

That is why this page leads with money rather than motivation. A November push is a defined block of hours with a known finish, which makes it one of the few tutoring decisions in Abu Dhabi you can actually cost in advance. Market rates in the emirate for qualified subject tuition run roughly AED 150 to AED 300 an hour online, with IGCSE and specialist exam-year work quoted from AED 200 to AED 450 and above; Unitors publishes IGCSE tuition from AED 150, TutorChase quotes AED 270, and Bestimate's Dubai rate table puts specialist exam-year support at AED 200 to AED 450 and above. Those are market figures, not an IB Gram price list.

What moves the number in this emirate is specific. Abu Dhabi's IGCSE cohort is spread across the island, the Khalifa City and Al Raha corridor, and the newer mainland communities, and the supply of Extended-tier Physics, Chemistry and Additional Mathematics specialists inside the emirate is thinner than the demand for them between September and November. A tutor who can mark a Paper 4 to the mark scheme and tell you which assessment objective the marks came off costs more per hour than one who re-teaches the topic from the textbook, and needs fewer hours to do the job. The per-hour rate is the wrong figure to optimise; the total to the certificate is the right one.

The second thing that moves the number is how late you start. A November plan begun in early September has time to run diagnostically: two marked papers, a topic list ranked by marks lost, then rebuilding. The same plan begun in mid-October becomes triage, which means more hours per week, weekend sessions, and a higher weekly cost for a smaller gain. Nothing about an IGCSE resit Abu Dhabi families book in week six of term is cheap, and the honest version of this page says so rather than implying a late start is equivalent.

Delivery is the last variable. IB Gram runs one-to-one online IGCSE tutor Abu Dhabi sessions over live video. We do not send a tutor to a UAE address — home visits are a service we offer only in India — and the in-home market in the emirate is quoted at AED 180 to AED 500 an hour precisely because the travel is priced into the lesson. Buying online removes that premium and removes the twenty-minute radius constraint on who can teach your child, which on a November Chemistry or Additional Mathematics entry is the difference between a specialist and whoever was free.

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

A November entry sits inside a longer path, and the sensible plan treats it that way. These are the stages Abu Dhabi families are usually moving between when they search for a November sitting, and what the November window means at each one.

LSECAges 11-14 · Years 7-9

Lower Secondary and Checkpoint

The two years before IGCSE decide whether a child arrives in Year 10 able to handle Extended-tier algebra and quantitative chemistry. Checkpoint tests are sat in March, May and October and are diagnostic rather than certificating. Most of the damage that shows up as a November resit three years later was done here, in algebraic fluency and in the habit of writing a method rather than an answer.

Abu Dhabi schools following the Cambridge pathway typically run Checkpoint in the primary and lower secondary phases before streaming for IGCSE in Year 9. Families arriving mid-phase from another system often find the streaming decision has already been made on data they never saw, which is worth asking about before Year 10 begins.

Cambridge IGCSE

Cambridge IGCSE is examined in a June series and a November series, with Core and Extended tiers in subjects such as Mathematics 0580 and Physics 0625. The November series is a full sitting in its own right, not a lesser version of June, and the papers are set to the same standard. What differs is the preparation window: a November candidate usually has one term rather than two years.

Abu Dhabi centres are allocated to one of Cambridge's six administrative zones, and Cambridge states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for the zone, adding that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong one. Ask your centre which zone it sits in before you plan a single revision week.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE runs in May/June and November each year, with subject codes such as 4MA1 for Mathematics and 4PH1 for Physics. Several Pearson Edexcel International GCSE November subjects are modular in structure, which changes how a resit is planned: a candidate may be re-sitting one paper rather than a whole qualification, and the cost drops accordingly.

Pearson publishes provisional timetables ahead of each series, so a November plan made in Abu Dhabi should be built against the live official timetable PDF rather than a date quoted on a tutoring site. The November 2026 final timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026; June 2026 results went to centres on 19 August 2026 and to students on 20 August 2026.

AS/AAges 16-18 · Years 12-13

AS and A Level, the step after

A November IGCSE grade usually exists to clear a condition: an AS subject choice, a sixth-form place, or a university condition. That means the November work should be taught towards the next course rather than towards the paper alone. A Mathematics resit aimed at AS Mathematics should cover algebraic manipulation to a depth the IGCSE paper never demands, because the next course does.

Abu Dhabi sixth forms set their own entry grades and many publish them on their admissions pages. Where a November grade is the condition, the January results date matters more than the grade itself: it determines whether a candidate joins Year 12 in September or mid-year, and whether the school holds the place.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

These are the subjects Abu Dhabi families most often book for a November sitting, with what the paper actually asks and where November candidates in particular lose marks. The pattern is consistent: the content is known, the exam technique is not.

Mathematics (Cambridge 0580 / Pearson 4MA1)

Core and Extended

Extended-tier marks are lost on algebraic fraction manipulation, bounds, similar-shape ratios in three dimensions, and the multi-step problems that carry no scaffolding. November candidates typically know the methods and lose marks on presentation: unlabelled working, no units, and answers rounded before the final step.

Physics (Cambridge 0625 / Pearson 4PH1)

Core and Extended

Electricity and electromagnetism account for a disproportionate share of lost Extended marks, followed by the practical-skills questions on graph drawing and anomalous-result identification. A resit candidate who re-reads notes without drawing circuit diagrams by hand usually sits the same paper twice and gets the same grade.

Chemistry (Cambridge 0620 / Pearson 4CH1)

Core and Extended

Moles and stoichiometry are the single largest mark sink at Extended tier, with organic reaction conditions and the qualitative-analysis tables close behind. The fix is arithmetic fluency under time pressure, not more theory, and it responds quickly to marked practice in the eight weeks before November.

Biology (Cambridge 0610 / Pearson 4BI1)

Core and Extended

Biology rewards precision of language more than any other science at this level. Marks go on osmosis and water potential, enzyme-graph interpretation, and the command-word distinction between describe, explain and suggest. Candidates who write long answers to short-mark questions lose time they need for the data questions.

Additional Mathematics / Further Pure

Extended only

Taken by candidates heading for A Level Mathematics, and the subject where a November entry is most often a tactical decision rather than a repair. Calculus notation, binomial expansion and trigonometric identities carry the marks, and the paper assumes an algebraic speed that IGCSE Mathematics alone does not build.

English as a Second Language

Core and Extended

The reading and writing components reward structure over vocabulary. November candidates lose marks on the summary task by copying rather than compressing, and on the directed-writing task by ignoring the audience and register specified in the prompt. Both are coachable inside six weeks.

First Language English

Extended

The directed-response and composition papers are marked on reading comprehension as much as on writing. Marks are lost where candidates summarise the passage instead of using it as evidence, and where the composition runs to length without a controlled structure. Timed practice with a marked rubric moves this faster than redrafting.

Economics and Business Studies

Core and Extended

The data-response and extended-answer questions carry the grade, and both are lost on application rather than knowledge. A candidate who defines a term correctly and then fails to apply it to the stimulus material scores the knowledge mark and nothing above it. Past-paper marking exposes this within two sessions.

Computer Science

Core and Extended

Theory marks concentrate in data representation, logic circuits and the fetch-execute cycle; programming marks go on trace tables and pseudocode conventions. November candidates often arrive strong on code and weak on the written conventions the mark scheme expects, which is a fast repair.

Arabic and UAE Social Studies alongside IGCSE

School-set

Private schools in the UAE must teach Arabic, social studies and Islamic studies alongside their licensed international curriculum, and those lessons keep running through a November revision block. A realistic plan treats them as fixed timetable load rather than something a candidate can quietly drop.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways to run a November block, each with a different cost profile and a different failure mode. The right one depends on how many weeks are left and how many subjects are in play, not on which sounds most thorough.

Single-subject November sprint

One subject, two sessions a week, eight to ten weeks, built around marked past papers rather than syllabus coverage. This is the most common November booking in Abu Dhabi and the easiest to cost: the total is the per-hour rate multiplied by a number you can see from the start. It works when the content is broadly known and the marks are being lost on technique.

  • Diagnostic paper marked and returned in week one, with marks lost mapped to topics
  • Each session built around one paper or one topic, never a general review
  • A second full paper under timed conditions at the halfway point
  • Final two weeks on paper-specific technique, timing and presentation

Two-subject parallel plan

Two subjects taught by two specialists rather than one generalist covering both. The cost is higher per week and lower per mark gained, because an Extended-tier Chemistry paper needs someone who marks Chemistry. Families often resist this and then split the budget across subjects anyway in week five, having lost a month.

  • Separate specialists per subject, with a shared written progress record
  • Workload balanced so the weaker subject gets the longer sessions
  • Both subjects timed against the same entry and results dates
  • One point of contact so parents are not coordinating two schedules

Private candidate support block

For a candidate not entered through their own school, where the registration logistics matter as much as the teaching. The work covers the syllabus, the paper structure and the components a private candidate IGCSE Abu Dhabi entry can and cannot include. The registration itself is made with the centre, not with us; we help a family ask the right questions of it.

  • Syllabus mapped to the specific option codes the centre will enter
  • Clear note of which practical or coursework components are unavailable externally
  • Revision timed against the centre's own internal deadlines, which precede the board's
  • Written summary a parent can take to the centre's exams officer

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Abu Dhabi

01

Who actually sits the November series, and why it matters to the budget

A November International GCSE entry serves four quite different candidates, and the cost of preparing each is different. The first is a June resit: one or two subjects where the grade fell below a sixth-form or university condition. The second is a sequenced entry, where a school deliberately splits a candidate's subjects across two series to reduce the June load. The third is a mid-cycle arrival who joined an Abu Dhabi school after the June entry deadline had closed. The fourth is a private candidate sitting outside a school roll entirely.

The resit is the cheapest of the four to prepare, because the content has been taught once and the diagnostic information already exists in the form of a June result and, usually, a component breakdown. Eight to ten hours of marked past-paper work with a specialist frequently does more than thirty hours of re-teaching, and the honest version of a cost estimate says so. The sequenced entry is next cheapest, because the school is managing the syllabus and the tutoring is topping up a known gap.

The mid-cycle arrival and the private candidate are where the number rises. A candidate who moved from another system in September is not resitting; they are meeting a syllabus, a tier and a paper format for the first time in one term. A private candidate carries the same teaching load plus the registration work and, in several subjects, a different option code because the practical or coursework component is not available externally. Both of those are real hours and should be in the estimate from the start rather than discovered in October.

The practical consequence is that nobody should quote you a single figure for IGCSE October November exam preparation in Abu Dhabi without first asking which of these four you are. Any site that gives you a price before it asks that question is pricing the hour rather than the job.

The November series counted backwards from results day

  • Results date drives everything: a November entry produces a grade in January, not in December
  • Centres make entries, and the centre's internal deadline always lands before the board's
  • Cambridge zone allocation determines which timetable version is correct for your centre
  • Link and read the board's live timetable PDF; published dates are revised between series

Almost every competitor page in this market names no exam session at all, which is strange, because the calendar is the part a parent can act on. The useful way to read a November entry is backwards from the date somebody else needs the grade. For Pearson Edexcel International GCSE, November 2025 results reached students on 22 January 2026, and the November 2026 final timetable ran from late October to 19 November 2026. Those two facts set the shape of every November plan: papers in the second half of autumn term, results in the second half of January.

Working back from the papers, the entry deadline is the next fixed point, and it is set by the board and administered by the centre. A parent does not make an entry; a centre does. That single fact catches out more Abu Dhabi families than any syllabus question, because a household can be entirely ready to pay for an entry and simply miss the window during which their school is willing to make it. Ask your school's exams officer for its internal cut-off date, which always precedes the board's.

Then there is the zone question, which is specific to Cambridge and almost never mentioned. Every Cambridge centre is allocated to one of six administrative zones, and Cambridge states that it is essential to use the correct version of the timetable for your zone, adding that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong version. A revision plan built on a timetable downloaded from the wrong zone can put a candidate in the wrong room on the wrong day. Confirm the zone with the centre, in writing, before building a week-by-week plan.

The last backward step is the teaching. Count the usable weeks between the start of the plan and the first paper, subtract the half-term break and any school assessment week, and that is the real number. In Abu Dhabi that figure is usually between seven and ten weeks for a plan starting in September, and four to six for one starting in October. The plan should be built on the real number, not the nominal one.

What a November push costs in Abu Dhabi, cheapest option first

Start at the bottom of the market and work up, because that is the order a budget actually gets built in. The cheapest published option is budget online tuition from a university-student tutor, which EdFlik advertises from AED 45 to AED 65 an hour and Tutopiya from AED 33 to AED 52. At that rate a two-session week for ten weeks is a small number, and for a Core-tier candidate who needs company and structure rather than diagnosis, it can be enough. For an Extended-tier paper where the marks are being lost in a mark scheme nobody has read, it usually is not.

The next band up is a qualified subject tutor working online, which market sources put between AED 150 and AED 300 an hour; Unitors publishes IGCSE tuition from AED 150 and IB from AED 200. This is where most November resits are bought, and the arithmetic is straightforward: sixteen hours at AED 200 is a knowable total, and it buys marked papers rather than company. Above that sit specialist exam-year rates of AED 200 to AED 450 and beyond, per Bestimate's Dubai rate table, with TutorChase quoting AED 270; premium named tutors reach AED 650, as BartyED publishes.

In-home delivery in the emirate carries a travel premium that is visible in the published numbers: Bestimate puts in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to AED 350 and independent home tutors at AED 200 to AED 500 an hour, against monthly packages seen at AED 799 for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to AED 1,799 for four two-hour in-home sessions. The premium is not a quality signal. It is a fuel, parking and Abu Dhabi traffic charge, and on a ten-week November block it is money that could have bought four more marked papers.

IB Gram does not publish a rate card on this page, and the reason is that the figure depends on subject, tier and how many weeks are left. The route is a free trial lesson and a consultation, where the subject, the tier and the real number of usable weeks are established before anybody quotes hours. What we will not do is quote a per-hour number that makes the page look cheap and then discover in week two that the job needs twice the hours.

Why a resit is a different teaching job from a first sitting

The instinct after a disappointing June grade is to start the syllabus again. It is the wrong move, and it is the main reason a second sitting produces the same grade as the first. A candidate who sat the paper in June has already met every topic; what they have not had is a reading of where the marks actually went. Re-teaching content that was understood wastes the one resource a November plan is short of, which is weeks.

The alternative is to treat the first two sessions as forensic. A full past paper, sat under timed conditions, marked strictly against the published mark scheme, and then read question by question with the candidate present. What emerges is almost never a list of topics. It is a list of behaviours: rounding too early, not writing the formula before substituting, answering explain questions with describe answers, abandoning multi-step questions after the first wrong step, running out of time because the first long question took fifteen minutes. Each of those is a repair with a known cost in hours.

That reading is also what turns an IGCSE resit Abu Dhabi families are nervous about into a plan they can see the end of. A candidate who learns that eleven of their lost Physics marks came from graph work and anomalous-result identification has a target. A candidate who is told to revise Physics does not. The second framing is the one most of this market sells, because it is easier to deliver and impossible to measure.

There is a limit worth stating plainly. No tutor can guarantee a grade, and any page that offers one on a November resit is selling a thing nobody owns. What marked past-paper work can do is remove the specific, countable, repeated errors between a candidate and the next grade band, and report honestly when the remaining gap is a content gap that needs more weeks than the calendar has left.

05

Where November candidates lose marks, paper by paper

  • Mathematics: algebraic fractions, bounds, 3-D trigonometry, unstructured multi-step problems
  • Physics: electricity, electromagnetism, graph work, anomalous-result identification
  • Chemistry: moles and stoichiometry, organic conditions, qualitative analysis tables
  • All subjects: command-word mismatch, premature rounding, missing method lines

Across Extended-tier mathematics and science, lost marks cluster in a small number of predictable places, and a November candidate has the advantage of knowing which ones already applied to them. In Mathematics, the heaviest losses sit in algebraic fractions, upper and lower bounds, three-dimensional trigonometry and the unstructured multi-step problems at the end of the paper. Candidates lose further marks to presentation: no method shown on a method-marked question, premature rounding, and missing units on a rate or density answer.

In Physics, electricity and electromagnetism take the largest share, and the practical-skills questions take the next. Drawing a circuit with the ammeter in the wrong place, failing to identify which plotted point is anomalous and say why, and describing a relationship as going up rather than naming it as directly proportional all cost marks that have nothing to do with understanding. Chemistry concentrates its losses in moles and stoichiometry, organic reaction conditions, and the qualitative-analysis tables that reward memorised precision.

In the written subjects the pattern shifts from arithmetic to command words. Describe, explain, suggest, evaluate and justify each have a mark-scheme meaning, and an answer written to the wrong one scores against the wrong objective. Biology candidates write explanations where a description was asked for and lose nothing in accuracy but everything in credit. Economics and Business candidates define the term and never apply it to the stimulus. English candidates summarise where they were asked to use evidence.

IGCSE past paper marking is the only reliable way to find out which of these applies to one candidate, which is why it is the first thing a November plan should buy. A plan that begins with a syllabus checklist begins by assuming the answer.

06

Coursework, practicals and the components a November entry has to watch

A November entry is not always a straight copy of the June one, and the component structure is where that shows up. In several science subjects the practical assessment is examined through a written alternative-to-practical paper rather than a laboratory session, and which route applies depends on the option code the centre enters. A candidate who revises for a practical that is not being sat, or who ignores an alternative-to-practical paper that is, has made a planning error that no amount of teaching fixes in November.

In subjects with a coursework component, a private candidate usually cannot submit it externally, and the centre will enter an option code without it. That changes the weighting of the written papers and sometimes the content they cover. The IGCSE Extended tier Abu Dhabi candidates sit under one option code is not identical to the one sat under another, and the first conversation with a centre's exams officer should establish exactly which codes are going on the entry.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE November entries add a further wrinkle where the qualification is modular: a candidate may be resitting a single paper and carrying forward the rest. That is a cheaper and faster job than a whole-qualification resit, and it is worth confirming before buying hours on the assumption that everything must be retaken. Cambridge's structure differs, and the carry-forward rules are set by the board rather than by the centre.

None of this is material a tutoring site should reproduce. Syllabus documents, past papers, mark schemes and grade-boundary tables belong to the boards, and the correct behaviour is to cite and link them rather than host them. What a tutor can legitimately do is read the live syllabus with you, name the components your centre has entered, and build the teaching around them.

07

How lessons actually run: online, one-to-one, on Gulf Standard Time

Every lesson is delivered one-to-one over live video, with a shared whiteboard, screen sharing and the candidate's own marked scripts on screen. There is no group class and no recorded course. Gulf Standard Time lessons are scheduled around the Abu Dhabi school week, which in practice means weekday slots from late afternoon and a longer weekend block, and during Ramadan the same sessions shift to post-Iftar timing without changing the plan.

IB Gram does not offer home visits in the UAE. Home visits are a service we run only in India, and no sentence on this site should suggest otherwise. That is a straightforward statement of what we sell rather than an apology for it, and the comparison in the cost table above is the argument: the in-home market in the emirate is quoted at AED 180 to AED 500 an hour because the journey is priced in, and a ten-week November block pays that premium ten times over for nothing that reaches the mark scheme.

The second argument is supply. An Extended-tier Chemistry or Additional Mathematics specialist who can mark to the mark scheme is a scarce resource in Abu Dhabi between September and November, and a family buying in-home tuition is choosing from whoever can reach their address inside a reasonable drive. Buying online removes the radius and leaves only the question of who can teach the subject, which is the question that was supposed to be asked in the first place.

Practically, that means a family in Al Ain and a family on Saadiyat Island are choosing from the same pool. Where no specialist is available for a niche subject at the hours a family needs, we say so and offer the nearest honest alternative rather than filling the slot. That disclosure is in the process section below, because a page that never mentions a coverage limit is concealing one.

08

ADEK, your school, and who owns the entry

  • ADEK supervises licensing and accreditation of private schools in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
  • Exam entries are made by a registered centre, not by a regulator or a parent
  • External centres set their own fees; ask for the published schedule in writing
  • Private tutoring in the UAE requires a MoHRE private tuition work permit, granted free of charge for two years

In Abu Dhabi, private schools are overseen by the Department of Education and Knowledge, which supervises the licensing and accreditation of private schools in the emirate and publishes its own inspection outcomes. Dubai's equivalent is the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Sharjah's is the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah the Ministry of Education supervises private schools directly. Knowing which authority governs your child's school matters because inspection reports, fee approvals and complaint routes all sit with it.

What the regulator does not do is own your child's exam entry. That belongs to the centre registered with the board, which for most candidates is the school itself. The exams officer decides when internal deadlines fall, which option codes are entered, and whether the school is willing to enter a candidate for a series at all. A family planning a November sitting should treat that conversation as the first task in the plan, not an administrative detail at the end of it.

For a candidate without a school route, an external centre takes that role, sets its own fee schedule, and has its own internal cut-offs. Centres publish their own charges, so ask for the current fee schedule in writing rather than relying on a figure quoted elsewhere. Private candidate IGCSE Abu Dhabi entries are routine, but they are administered by the centre and the responsibility for getting the codes right sits with the family.

One caution, because it is enforced here. ADEK's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff prohibit teachers from paid private tutoring of students enrolled at their own school, and a teacher tutoring outside school hours needs the MoHRE private tuition work permit, whose code of conduct also bars serving students affiliated with their own school. This is press-reported and worth verifying against the current policy document, but the direction is clear: do not ask your child's own classroom teacher for paid lessons.

High-density towers with a short commute to the island schools, which means a 4pm start is realistic on most weekdays. The constraint here is sibling scheduling in apartments rather than travel, and a fixed weekly slot holds better than a flexible one.

Khalifa City

A large villa catchment feeding several British-curriculum schools, with a school run that can add forty minutes each way during term. November sessions here usually land at 5pm or later on weekdays, with the main teaching block on Saturday morning.

Al Raha Gardens and Al Raha Beach

Close to the Khalifa City school cluster and the Abu Dhabi-Dubai road, so families here often combine a weekday evening slot with a weekend double session. Extended-tier science demand in this corridor outruns local supply between September and November.

Saadiyat Island

A smaller cohort attending a short list of island schools, with the shortest school runs in the emirate. That makes earlier weekday sessions workable, which matters on a November plan where the useful teaching weeks are few and each one counts.

Yas Island and West Yas

A newer catchment with a growing Year 10 and Year 11 population and a commute that is short in the morning and slow at 3pm. Families here tend to book two shorter weekday sessions rather than one long one, which suits paper-by-paper revision.

Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Shakhbout City

A mainland catchment with a wide spread of school choices and longer travel to the island. This is where buying online instead of in-home changes the arithmetic most, because the travel premium in the in-home market is real money for a short November block.

Al Ain

Governed by the same emirate authority as the capital but an hour inland, with a smaller pool of IGCSE specialists physically present. For an Extended-tier November entry in Al Ain, live video is usually the only route to a subject specialist at all.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Abu Dhabi

Island and Saadiyat schools

The island cluster carries a mix of British and international curricula, and its Year 11 cohorts sit both Cambridge and Pearson papers depending on the school's registration. November entries from this cluster are most often single-subject science or mathematics repairs rather than full retakes.

  • Cranleigh Abu Dhabi
  • The British International School Abu Dhabi
  • American Community School of Abu Dhabi
  • Al Bateen Academy
  • Al Mushrif Academy

Khalifa City, Al Raha and Yas corridor

The largest concentration of IGCSE candidates in the emirate, and the cluster that generates most November demand for Extended-tier Physics and Chemistry. Session timing here is dictated by the school run rather than by the syllabus, and plans that ignore that fail in week three.

  • Al Yasmina Academy
  • Raha International School
  • GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi
  • Yasmina British Academy
  • West Yas Academy
  • Reach British School

Mainland and Al Ain

A wide geography with fewer subject specialists physically present, which is why online delivery is the default rather than a compromise. Families here are often the ones who discover a November entry window exists only after June results arrive.

  • Emirates National Schools
  • Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi
  • Liwa International School
  • Al Dhafra Private Schools
  • Al Ain English Speaking School

Schools are named here only as context for the ADEK private schools landscape in which these candidates sit; no affiliation, endorsement or partnership is implied, and current inspection ratings should be read on the regulator's own school listing.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

    Tell us the three dates

The series you are entering, the centre's internal cut-off, and the date somebody else needs the grade. Those three determine the number of usable weeks, and the plan is built on that number rather than on a nominal term length. If the entry is not yet confirmed, that becomes task one.

  2. 02

Free trial lesson and a marked diagnostic

A trial lesson with the subject specialist, followed by one full past paper sat under timed conditions and marked against the published mark scheme. What comes back is a ranked list of where the marks went, not a syllabus checklist. The trial is free; the only condition is that it is a single lesson.

  3. 03

A costed plan you can see the end of

Hours per week, number of weeks, which papers are being sat under timed conditions and when. Because a November block has a fixed finish, the total is knowable at the start, and we state it rather than leaving it open. If the honest estimate exceeds the weeks available, we say that instead of selling the hours.

  4. 04

    Weekly teaching with written reporting

Sessions run one-to-one over live video at a fixed weekly slot, each built around one paper or one topic. After each marked paper you get the script, the mark breakdown and a short written note of what moved and what did not. No progress claim is made that the marked work does not support.

  5. 05

    The honest fallback

If no specialist is free for your subject at the hours you need, we say so. The options are a different time slot, a different start date, or a referral elsewhere. We do not fill a slot with a tutor who cannot mark the paper, which is the failure mode this market is built on.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

The calendar is on the page

Entry deadlines, exam windows and results dates are the part a parent can act on, and almost no competing page in this market names a single one. The dates here come from the boards' own timetable pages, with past dates kept so you can check them and future series named by month so the page does not go stale.

Prices with a source attached

Every AED figure on this page is a market rate with the publisher named and the month it was read. Three of the six ranking pages in this market publish no price at all, and two quote US dollars. A number you can trace is more useful than a number that flatters us.

Marked papers, not reassurance

The unit of work is a past paper marked against the published mark scheme and read back question by question. That produces a countable list of where marks went, which is what a November plan needs in week one. Progress is reported from the scripts, with no statistic we cannot show you the working for.

A coverage limit we state out loud

Specialist supply for Extended-tier science and Additional Mathematics in Abu Dhabi is thin between September and November. Where we cannot staff a subject at the hours a family needs, we say so. No competing page in this market discloses a coverage limit, which does not mean they do not have one.

Academic honesty, stated as a boundary

A tutor teaches, marks and gives feedback on the student's own work. We do not produce coursework, and we do not supply board syllabus documents, past papers or mark schemes as downloads; those belong to Cambridge and Pearson and we link them instead. Several sites in this market sell the opposite, and it is a malpractice risk for the student.

Built for the Abu Dhabi school week

Sessions are timed to Gulf Standard Time around the school run, with weekend blocks where weekday travel makes an early start unrealistic, and post-Iftar timing during Ramadan. The plan survives half-term and school assessment weeks because those are subtracted from the usable weeks before it is written.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Abu Dhabi: your questions answered

Can my child sit IGCSE exams in the November series in Abu Dhabi?+

Yes. Cambridge International runs IGCSE and O Level exams in a June series and a November series, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE is available in May/June and November each year. Both are open to UAE candidates. The entry itself is made by a centre registered with the board, which for most children is their own school, so the first step is asking your school's exams officer whether it will enter your child for November and what its internal cut-off date is. External centres take that role for candidates without a school route.

Is the November IGCSE series only for resits?+

No. A November entry is a full sitting examined to the same standard as June, and four quite different candidates use it. Resits are the most common, but schools also sequence subjects deliberately across two series to reduce the June load, mid-cycle arrivals use November when they joined after the June deadline closed, and private candidates sit outside a school roll entirely. The preparation cost differs sharply between those four, which is why no sensible estimate is given before establishing which one applies to your child.

When do November IGCSE results reach students in the UAE?+

In the second half of January. Pearson's published record is the clearest guide: November 2025 International GCSE results reached students on 22 January 2026. The practical consequence is that a November entry does not produce a grade before the winter break, so if a sixth form or university is waiting on the result, plan for a January confirmation rather than a December one. Always read the board's live timetable and results pages, because published dates are revised between series and a date quoted on a tutoring site is not authoritative.

How much should we budget in AED for a November IGCSE push?+

Work from the total rather than the hourly rate. Market rates in the emirate run from AED 33 to AED 65 an hour for budget online tuition, per Tutopiya and EdFlik, AED 150 to AED 300 for a qualified subject tutor online, with Unitors publishing IGCSE from AED 150, and AED 200 to AED 450 and above for exam-year specialists, with TutorChase at AED 270. A single-subject resit typically needs eight to sixteen hours; a mid-cycle arrival meeting the syllabus for the first time needs far more. Those are market figures, not an IB Gram price list.

Does our Abu Dhabi school enter my child for November, or do we?+

The centre does, and for most candidates the centre is the school. Parents cannot submit an entry directly to Cambridge or Pearson. Your school's exams officer sets an internal deadline that lands before the board's, decides which option codes go on the entry, and may have a policy on whether it enters candidates for November at all. If the school will not, an external centre can, with its own fee schedule and its own cut-offs. Get all of this in writing before buying tuition hours against an entry that does not yet exist.

What is a Cambridge zone timetable and why does it matter for us?+

Cambridge allocates every centre to one of six administrative zones, each with its own version of the exam timetable. Cambridge states that it is essential to use the correct version for your zone and that it cannot accept responsibility for candidates who miss an exam after using the wrong one. For an Abu Dhabi family this is a five-minute question with a serious downside if skipped: ask the centre which zone it sits in, then build the revision plan from that timetable. Do not plan from a timetable found through a general search.

Can we change from Core to Extended before the November entry closes?+

Tier is part of the entry, so it is decided before the centre's deadline rather than in the exam hall. Moving a candidate from Core to Extended raises the grade ceiling and raises the content load, particularly in Mathematics and the sciences, where Extended papers assume algebraic fluency Core does not test. The decision should be made on a marked Extended paper rather than on ambition. If a marked paper says the candidate is three topics short with eight weeks left, that is a real answer, and the centre needs it before its cut-off.

Does a November grade replace the June grade on the certificate?+

Each series produces its own result, and how multiple attempts appear and which grade a university or sixth form uses is set by the board's rules and the receiving institution's policy rather than by a tutor. Most institutions look at the highest grade achieved, but that is a policy question to put to them in writing. Ask your centre's exams officer how the board records a second attempt for your specific qualification, and ask the sixth form or university directly which attempt it will use for a conditional offer.

How many hours a week does a two-subject November plan usually take?+

Two to four teaching hours a week per subject, plus unsupervised past-paper time, is the usual shape for a ten-week block. That is deliberately modest, because the limiting factor in November is not teaching hours but the candidate's capacity to absorb marked feedback while school continues. Abu Dhabi candidates are also still carrying Arabic, social studies and Islamic studies lessons alongside their international curriculum, which is fixed timetable load. A plan that ignores that collapses in week three, usually by cancelling the weekend session first.

Will a November resit delay a university application?+

It can shift the timing, because a November entry produces a grade in January rather than in August. For applications where the IGCSE grade is a stated condition, that means the condition clears in the new year, and the receiving institution needs to know the result is pending rather than missing. Tell them early and in writing. Nothing about tutoring changes that timeline, and no page should imply that tuition is required for an admission decision; it is a teaching service, not a route through an institution's process.

Can my child prepare for November while starting Year 12?+

Frequently, yes, and it is one of the more common bookings in the emirate. A candidate who has moved into Year 12 is carrying new AS or IB content while repairing one IGCSE subject, which argues for a small number of focused hours rather than a broad revision programme. The useful plan marks one past paper early, targets the two or three behaviours costing the most marks, and protects the new course. Trying to re-teach a whole IGCSE syllabus alongside a Year 12 timetable is where this goes wrong.

Do you cover both Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel for a November sitting?+

Yes, and the distinction matters more than most families expect. Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE use different subject codes, different paper structures and, in several subjects, different approaches to practical assessment, and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE November entries can be modular where Cambridge's are not. A tutor who does not know which board your child sits is guessing at the paper. Confirm the board and the option code with the centre, and the teaching is built from that syllabus rather than a generic one.

What happens if no specialist is free for our subject in Abu Dhabi?+

We tell you. Specialist supply for Extended-tier Physics, Chemistry and Additional Mathematics is thinnest between September and November, which is exactly when November candidates want it. Where we cannot staff a subject at the hours you need, the options are a different slot, a later start, or a referral elsewhere, and we would rather say that than put a tutor in front of a candidate who cannot mark the paper. No competing page in this market states a coverage limit, which is not the same as not having one.

How do lessons fit around ADEK school hours and Abu Dhabi traffic?+

Because lessons run over live video, travel disappears from the schedule and only the school week constrains it. In practice that means weekday slots from late afternoon for island and Saadiyat families, 5pm or later where the Khalifa City or Mohammed Bin Zayed City school run is long, and a weekend teaching block where weekday evenings are already full. During Ramadan the same sessions move to post-Iftar timing. The plan is written around the real week, including half-term and school assessment weeks, before any hours are agreed.

Start with the entry date, then the diagnostic

A November sitting is one of the few pieces of exam preparation you can cost properly in advance, because it has a fixed finish. Establish the centre's internal cut-off, confirm the board and option codes in writing, then buy a marked diagnostic paper before buying a programme. The first tells you whether the entry exists; the second tells you what the hours are for. Book a free trial lesson with a subject specialist and we will build the plan from the real number of usable weeks between now and the first paper, with the AED total stated at the start rather than discovered in week five.
