IB DP Business Management Tutor in Abu Dhabi

An IB DP Business Management tutor in Abu Dhabi is usually hired at one of three moments: when the pre-released case study lands, when the 1,800-word research project stalls, or when finance and accounts stops making sense. This page costs each of those separately, in AED, with the market sources named, because the three jobs do not take the same number of hours and quoting one rate for all of them tells a family nothing. Lessons run one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time.

  • Priced by the three moments families actually buy support
  • Research project feedback on the student's own drafts only
  • Market AED bands quoted with the provider that published each one

IB & IGCSE in Abu Dhabi

Three moments Abu Dhabi families buy Business Management support, and what each costs

Business Management is bought reactively, and the trigger is almost always one of three events. The pre-released case study arrives and nobody in the house understands what to do with it. The business research project has a deadline and a word count and no research question that works. Or finance and accounts turns up in the second term and a student who was comfortable with marketing and human resources suddenly is not. Each of those is a different purchase with a different number of hours attached, and the hourly rate is the least variable part of the calculation.

On the rate itself: market rates for IB specialist tutoring in the UAE run roughly AED 200 to AED 450 an hour, which is the band in Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 table. TutorChase publishes AED 270. Unitors lists IB tuition from AED 200 and IGCSE from AED 150. BartyED publishes AED 650 for its examiner tier. The entry tiers advertised from AED 33 to AED 65 by Tutopiya and EdFlik are university-student and group formats, which is a genuinely different product and should not be lined up against a Diploma specialist on price.

The pre-released case study is the most distinctive cost event in this subject and the one no competitor page prices. Schools receive it in advance of the examination, which means a family has months of lead time, not weeks. It is also the one component where a small group can be reasonable value, because the case is identical for every candidate in the world and much of the preparatory work is shared analysis rather than individual diagnosis. That is a real saving and it is worth saying out loud on a page that otherwise argues for one-to-one.

The research project is the largest single block of hours. It carries 25% of the subject grade at both levels, runs to a maximum of 1,800 words, and requires a real organisation and a genuine research question. The hours are front-loaded into question design and source planning, exactly like a science investigation, and for the same reason: a question that cannot be answered with the material available produces a project that cannot score, no matter how well it is written later.

The fourth cost input is local and legal. ADEK supervises the licensing and accreditation of Abu Dhabi private schools, and Gulf News reported that its professional-ethics rules bar school staff from paid private tutoring of students enrolled at their own school. The MoHRE private tutor work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years and carries a code of conduct saying the same. The lawful pool in this emirate is therefore smaller than the number of Business teachers in it. IB Gram does not send a tutor to a UAE address; home visits are a service we run only in India, and every Abu Dhabi lesson runs online over live video.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Business Management sits in Group 3 of the Diploma and is taken at both levels, which is why this page covers both. The routes below change what a student arrives with and therefore what the first term of support has to cover.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

Six subjects over two years plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Business Management runs across five units and a toolkit of analytical techniques. Standard Level sits two papers plus the research project; Higher Level adds a third paper built on an unseen case about a social enterprise. The research project carries 25% at both levels, which is unusual among Diploma subjects and shifts where the hours go.

In Abu Dhabi, Business Management competes with Economics for the same Group 3 choosers, and at several schools it is the larger of the two. Class sizes at the island schools can reach twenty, while newer mainland schools may run a group of six. Group size matters here more than in most subjects, because the pre-released case study rewards shared discussion and a group of six produces much less of it.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

Individuals and Societies in MYP assesses knowing and understanding, investigating, communicating and thinking critically. The investigating criterion is the closest existing preparation for the business research project, since both require a question, a plan and evidence gathered against it. What MYP does not provide is any accounting or quantitative business content.

Students arriving in DP1 from an MYP stream at an Abu Dhabi IB school typically write confident analysis and meet balance sheets for the first time in the second term. Families budgeting for support should expect the finance and accounts block rather than general content teaching, and should expect to need it at a predictable point in the year.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

Pairs a small number of DP courses with a career-related study and a reflective project. Business Management is one of the commonest DP courses taken inside a CP, and the student sits the same papers and submits the same research project. The career-related study sometimes supplies the organisation the research project needs, which is a practical advantage.

The Career-related Programme is uncommon in Abu Dhabi but Business Management is its most natural DP subject. A CP student frequently has a workplace connection through the career-related study, which solves the hardest logistical problem in the research project: finding an organisation willing to supply enough information to answer a real question.

CoreAges 16-19 · alongside all six subjects

Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay

An Extended Essay in Business Management is a separate 4,000-word piece supervised at school, distinct from the research project and with its own authenticity record. A student doing both has two independent research pieces in the same subject, which is heavier than it sounds and needs planning in DP1 rather than discovering in DP2.

Abu Dhabi schools generally set internal core deadlines ahead of the IB's own windows. Where a student is writing both an Extended Essay and the research project in Business Management, the two internal deadlines often sit within the same term, and that collision is the single commonest reason a family's monthly spend doubles unplanned.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Business Management is the subject here, described at both levels. The subjects after it are the ones Abu Dhabi students pair it with, each noted for what the combination does to the number of hours a family buys.

Business Management (Higher Level)

Higher Level, Group 3

Three papers plus the research project. Paper 1 is built on the pre-released case study, Paper 2 on unseen scenarios with a substantial quantitative element, and Paper 3 on an unseen case concerning a social enterprise. The Higher Level toolkit is wider, and Paper 3 asks for a recommendation rather than an analysis, which is a different skill and a separate block of hours.

Business Management (Standard Level)

Standard Level, Group 3

Two papers plus the same research project at the same 25%. Paper 1 carries a larger share of the Standard Level grade than it does at Higher Level, which makes pre-released case study preparation proportionally more valuable for a Standard Level candidate than for a Higher Level one.

Economics

Higher Level and Standard Level

The usual Group 3 alternative rather than a companion, though some Abu Dhabi students take both. Market structures and some demand analysis overlap; the assessment styles do not. Two separate tutors is normally the honest answer, and that doubles the weekly spend.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

Higher Level and Standard Level

Supplies the quantitative base finance and accounts needs: ratios, break-even, descriptive statistics, investment appraisal arithmetic. A student taking Applications usually needs transfer coaching rather than teaching, which is a cheaper purchase than it first appears.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

Higher Level and Standard Level

Produces students who can do the arithmetic and have never seen it presented as a cash flow forecast or a contribution calculation. The gap is recognition rather than capability, and it closes in a small number of sessions once the format is familiar.

Digital Society

Higher Level and Standard Level

Overlaps Business Management on technology adoption, data and organisational change. Students taking both can be taught the shared ground once, and the inquiry habits of Digital Society transfer into the research project's methodology section.

Global Politics

Higher Level and Standard Level

Shares stakeholder analysis, governance and ethics content. It trains students to weigh competing interests, which is exactly what a Paper 2 evaluation and a Paper 3 recommendation require and what most Business answers lack.

English A: Language and Literature

Higher Level and Standard Level

Business Management is a written subject with a word-limited research project. Where marks are being lost to structure, concision and unsupported assertion rather than to business knowledge, the problem belongs here and should be diagnosed as such rather than paid for as business tuition.

Extended Essay in Business Management

Core, 4,000 words

Separate from the research project and supervised at school. A tutor can teach research method, question framing and source evaluation, and comment on drafts the student has written. The text must be the student's own, and the school supervisor records authenticity as part of the assessment.

Theory of Knowledge

Core, all Diploma candidates

Shares no content and competes directly for the weeks when the research project is due at most Abu Dhabi schools. An honest two-year cost plan has to account for the term in which a weekly business hour is unaffordable in time rather than in money.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways Abu Dhabi families buy Business Management support, each matched to one of the three buying triggers. All run one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time unless a family specifically chooses a shared case study session.

Pre-released case study preparation

A block of sessions once the case has been issued to the school, working through the organisation, its context, the likely question areas and the toolkit techniques the case invites. This is the one component where a shared session with two or three students genuinely adds value, because the analysis is the same for every candidate and discussion sharpens it.

  • Starts when the school receives the case, not in the final weeks
  • Maps the case against the five units and the toolkit
  • Builds the stakeholder and context analysis the paper assumes
  • Available as a shared session where a family wants the lower cost

Research project supervision

Front-loaded hours across the project: finding a workable organisation, framing a question that the available information can actually answer, planning sources and methodology, and staying inside 1,800 words. The tutor teaches method and comments on drafts the student has written. The project itself is the student's work throughout.

  • Organisation and access settled before a question is fixed
  • Question tested against what information is genuinely obtainable
  • Methodology and tool selection taught, not chosen for the student
  • Word budget planned so the evaluation is not what gets cut

Finance and accounts block

Four to six sessions on the quantitative unit that produces most of the panic and most of the recoverable marks: final accounts, ratio analysis, break-even, cash flow forecasting and investment appraisal. Mechanical, teachable, and the single most predictable purchase in a Business Management plan.

  • Ratios taught as interpretation, not as formulae to recall
  • Cash flow and break-even worked under timed conditions
  • Working written in the form the mark scheme credits
  • Finishes with a timed quantitative paper section

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Abu Dhabi

01

Costing Business Management by the three things families actually buy

A single hourly rate tells an Abu Dhabi family almost nothing about what Business Management support will cost them, because the three jobs they might be buying consume wildly different numbers of hours. Pricing by component is the only version of this question with a useful answer.

Finance and accounts is the most predictable purchase and the best value. It is mechanical, it is bounded, and the marks are recoverable: ratio interpretation, break-even, cash flow forecasting and investment appraisal are all procedures that can be taught and then practised. Four to six sessions covers it for most students, and the effect appears in both papers and often in the research project as well.

The pre-released case study is the longest-running engagement and the one with the most flexible cost, because it is the only component where sharing a session is defensible. Every candidate in the world receives the same case. Much of the preparation is context analysis and anticipation of question areas, and two or three students doing that together produce better discussion than one student doing it alone. A family choosing a shared session for this component and one-to-one for everything else is making a sensible decision rather than a cheap one.

The research project is the largest block and the one where buying late costs the most. The hours are front-loaded into finding an organisation and framing a question the available information can answer. Those hours bought early are planning; bought after a question has been approved and the information turns out not to exist, they are rescue, and rescue takes longer and achieves less. The table below sets out the three, with market cost ranges attributed to the rate sources rather than presented as a price list.

02

The pre-released case study, and the one place group tuition is good value

Paper 1 in Business Management is built on a case study issued to schools ahead of the examination. That single fact makes this subject different from every other Group 3 course in how support should be bought, and no competitor page measured in this research set addresses it.

The practical consequence is lead time. A family that starts case study preparation when the case arrives has months. A family that starts six weeks before the paper has six weeks, at the point in the year when evening slots across the emirate are scarcest and most expensive in opportunity terms. Nothing about the case changes in that period. Only the amount of preparation possible does.

The second consequence is that sharing works here. Every candidate sits the same case, so the groundwork is common: understanding the organisation, mapping its context, identifying which of the five units the case touches, anticipating which toolkit techniques the examiners are likely to invite, and building the stakeholder analysis the paper assumes rather than states. Two or three students working through that together generate the kind of argument a single student cannot have with themselves, and the cost per family falls accordingly.

What does not transfer to a shared format is individual mark repair. Your child's particular habit of asserting rather than justifying, their specific weakness in applying a tool properly, their own timing problem on the final question: none of that survives being taught to three people at once. The sensible Abu Dhabi plan for most families is a shared case study block alongside one-to-one work on whatever the marked papers show, and a provider should be willing to structure it that way rather than selling a single format for everything.

03

The research project: 1,800 words, 25%, and where the hours actually go

The business research project carries 25% of the subject grade at Standard Level and at Higher Level, which makes it the largest single component a student controls directly. It runs to a maximum of 1,800 words and it requires a real organisation and a question that the available information can answer. Those two requirements are where the hours go, and where families underestimate the cost most badly.

Finding the organisation comes first, and in Abu Dhabi it is more often solved through a parent's own workplace than through a cold approach. A student who has access to someone willing to answer questions, share figures or describe a decision has a project. A student who has chosen a large multinational from the internet and hopes to find enough public information usually has a problem that only becomes visible in the second draft.

Framing the question comes second and it is the highest-return hour on the whole project. A question has to be narrow enough to answer inside 1,800 words, concrete enough that the available information bears on it, and genuinely open rather than rhetorical. Most mid-band projects were decided here: the question was too broad, the information did not exist, and everything written afterwards was an attempt to disguise that.

The remaining hours go to methodology, tool selection and the word budget. Students consistently spend their words on description and arrive at the evaluation with two hundred left, which is the wrong way round for the criteria. What a tutor does across all of this has a hard boundary: teaching research method, explaining what the criteria reward, and commenting on drafts the student has written. Supplying text, choosing the organisation and question outright, or revising a draft into a submission is malpractice under IB rules, with consequences that fall on the candidate.

Finance and accounts, and why it drives the bill

  • The only unit in Business Management where an answer can be plainly wrong
  • Ratios are marked as interpretation in context, not as recalled formulae
  • Method marks are available for working regardless of the final figure
  • Four to six sessions typically covers it; buying it when taught costs the same as buying it late

If an Abu Dhabi family is going to buy one block of Business Management support across two years, this is reliably the one they end up buying, and it is reliably the one that produces the clearest return. The reason is simple: it is the only unit in the subject where a student can be straightforwardly wrong.

Everything else in Business Management rewards judgement, and a weak answer on motivation theory or marketing strategy still scores something. A cash flow forecast with an arithmetic error scores nothing for that item, and a ratio interpreted backwards is worse than no interpretation at all. Students who are strong on the discursive units arrive at final accounts, ratio analysis, break-even and investment appraisal and discover that fluency does not help them.

The content is bounded and mechanical, which is why four to six sessions usually covers it. Ratios have to be taught as interpretation rather than as formulae: knowing that a current ratio is one thing, saying what a current ratio of 0.8 implies for a specific organisation in a specific context is the marked skill. Break-even and cash flow have to be practised under time pressure, because the arithmetic is easy and the errors are all careless. Working has to be written in the form the mark scheme credits, since method marks are available independently of the final figure.

There is a cost timing point here that families miss. Most schools teach finance and accounts in the second term of DP1, and most families buy support for it in DP2 when a mock paper exposes the weakness. Buying the same four to six sessions at the point the unit is taught costs the same and prevents a year of answers written on a shaky base. It also means the quantitative work in the research project is approached by a student who can already read a set of accounts.

05

Higher Level Paper 3 and the Higher Level premium

  • Paper 3 is Higher Level only and built on an unseen social enterprise case
  • It asks for a justified recommendation, not a balanced evaluation
  • Social objectives change what counts as a strong proposal
  • A separate block of four to six sessions is realistic

Higher Level Business Management adds a third paper, built on an unseen case concerning a social enterprise, and it is the clearest reason a Higher Level plan costs more than a Standard Level one in this emirate. It carries a meaningful share of the Higher Level grade and it asks for something the other two papers do not.

Paper 3 wants a recommendation. Not an analysis, not a balanced discussion, but a specific course of action chosen and justified against the organisation's actual constraints, with the alternatives acknowledged and the risks named. Students who write strong Paper 2 evaluations frequently write unusable Paper 3 answers, because a good evaluation weighs and declines to choose, and this paper requires a choice.

The social enterprise framing matters too, and it is easy to underestimate. A social enterprise has objectives that are not reducible to profit, which changes what counts as a good recommendation. A proposal that improves margin while undermining the organisation's social purpose is not a strong answer, and students trained on commercial cases reach for it instinctively.

The cost consequence is a separate block of four to six sessions, focused on the recommendation structure and on reading an unseen case under time pressure. It is teachable, and some of it works in a shared format because the structure is common. What is individual is the student's own habit of hedging rather than deciding, and that needs marked answers and one-to-one feedback to shift.

06

How to read a Business Management tutoring quote in this market

Abu Dhabi parents receive quotes that look comparable and are not. Reading one properly takes about five questions, and asking them is the cheapest cost control available. Nothing in this section is unique to Business Management, but the pre-released case study and the shared-session option make the questions sharper here than in most subjects.

Ask what a session actually is. Forty-five minutes and ninety minutes are both called a session in this market. Ask whether the rate is per hour or per lesson, and whether the figure quoted includes any preparation or feedback time. Ask whether the tutor is a Business Management specialist or a generalist across business and economics, and which of the two they taught most recently at Diploma level.

Ask what happens to unused sessions in a package, and ask whether the package tutor is the person you spoke to. Monthly packages circulating in this market run around AED 799 for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to AED 1,799 for four two-hour in-home sessions. An eight-session package of generalist hours is not cheaper than four specialist hours if the thing you need is investment appraisal.

Ask about value added tax treatment of the quoted figure, and whether the price you have been given is inclusive. A provider should be able to tell you plainly whether their quoted AED figure includes VAT; the general tax position for education services is a matter for the Federal Tax Authority and not something a tutoring page should assert. Finally, ask whether the tutor holds a current MoHRE private tuition work permit, and whether they teach at your child's school.

07

Business Management support beside everything else an Abu Dhabi family pays

Comparing a tutoring rate with another tutoring rate is the least informative comparison available. The useful frame is the rest of the education budget, because that determines whether a plan survives two years rather than one term.

On fees as context: KHDA confirmed in May 2026 that private school fees in Dubai would not rise for the 2026-27 academic year, under an incentives package Dubai valued at AED 1.5 billion inside a AED 2.5 billion total. Abu Dhabi fees run through ADEK's own approval process. Tutoring has no equivalent cap or freeze, which is the strongest available argument for buying mechanical repairs early rather than emergency hours late.

Bestimate's monthly estimates for a single weekly hour are AED 240 to AED 600 at the budget end, AED 600 to AED 1,200 in the middle and AED 1,000 to AED 2,000 and above for specialist exam-year support. For Business Management the realistic shape is different from a continuous weekly hour: most families spend in three concentrated blocks rather than evenly, which means a lower two-year total if the blocks are bought at the right moments.

One item almost nobody budgets: examination entry for a retake or for a candidate sitting outside their school. Those fees are set by the board and the examination centre, arranged through the school, and entirely separate from tuition. Confirm them with the Diploma coordinator before committing a monthly tutoring figure that leaves no room for them.

ADEK, the permit, and who may lawfully take your money

  • ADEK supervises the licensing and accreditation of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain private schools
  • ADEK ethics rules bar paid tutoring of students at the teacher's own school
  • The MoHRE permit comes from Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and is free for two years
  • A training institute with premises needs a separate KHDA permit, which IB Gram does not hold

Abu Dhabi and Al Ain private schools are overseen by the Department of Education and Knowledge, which u.ae describes as supervising the licensing and accreditation of private schools in the emirate. ADEK publishes inspection outcomes and runs the fee-increase process. Not one of the competitor pages measured in this research set names it, on pages written for Abu Dhabi parents.

The rule that affects a family's choice most directly concerns teachers. Gulf News reported that ADEK's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff prohibit paid private tutoring of students enrolled at the teacher's own school, and that staff tutoring outside school hours must hold the MoHRE private tuition work permit, whose code of conduct bars serving students affiliated with their own school. Verify the current wording against ADEK's own policy document before relying on it.

Federally, the position is documented. The MoHRE private tutor work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, is granted free of charge for two years, and is open to registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. Individuals offering private tutoring without a permit are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws. No fine schedule has been published, so any specific amount quoted at you is unverified. MoHRE's own Private Tutor Licensing service lists no fee and a two-working-day completion time.

A separate point worth stating because of what this subject is about. A tutoring business with premises and staff in Dubai needs a KHDA Educational Services Permit as a training institute, which is a specific licence issued to a specific kind of operation. IB Gram is an online tutor-matching platform; it holds no such permit, no regulator accreditation, and no premises in the UAE, and a page that implied otherwise would be making exactly the kind of claim this section exists to warn you about.

09

Availability, and what happens when nobody covers Business Management

  • Fewer Abu Dhabi schools teach Business Management than teach Economics
  • DP2 spring evening slots are the scarcest hours in this market
  • An Economics specialist is a workable second choice for the discursive units
  • Where a tutor is not UAE-resident, that is stated before you commit

Business Management is taught in fewer Abu Dhabi schools than Economics and by fewer specialists, and that shows up in availability rather than in price. The brief that actually matters is narrow: the current syllabus, comfort with the quantitative unit, experience supervising research projects, and familiarity with the pre-released case study for the live session.

For a weekday evening slot in DP1, matching is usually straightforward. For a 17:00 slot in the DP2 spring, when the case study and the project deadlines are both live across the emirate, it is not. At that point there are three honest answers, and a provider that always says yes is giving none of them.

A different time is the cheapest and most effective concession: a 20:00 slot or a weekend morning widens the pool substantially in exam term. A different tutor profile is the second: an Economics specialist who also teaches Business Management can handle the discursive units and marked-paper work competently while being weaker on the research project, and that trade-off should be stated rather than concealed. The third is waiting with a date attached.

Where no UAE-resident specialist is free, a matched tutor may be based elsewhere and teaching on Gulf Standard Time, and that is disclosed before any commitment. Two providers ranking for UAE searches route parents to contact numbers outside the country without saying where delivery happens. On a subject with a fixed case study cycle, discovering that late is particularly costly.

Close to the central business district, which matters here for a practical reason: students in these neighbourhoods often have the easiest access to an organisation willing to answer questions for the research project, which cuts the hours spent hunting for one.

Saadiyat Island

Larger, established Diploma groups where the pre-released case study generates genuine classroom discussion. Families here tend to buy targeted finance and accounts support rather than case study preparation.

Khalifa City

Villa communities feeding the Khalifa City and Al Raha corridor. The afternoon run towards Dubai makes a fixed 17:30 online slot far more dependable than any arrangement involving a drive, which protects a weekly plan through the project deadline.

Al Raha Beach and Al Raha Gardens

Short school runs and a high proportion of students taking two Group 3 subjects. The cost question here is usually whether one tutor can cover Business Management and Digital Society, and the shared technology content often makes that workable.

Yas Island and West Yas

Newer schools with small Group 3 cohorts, sometimes six or fewer in a Business Management class. Small groups produce little shared case study analysis, so families here buy the discussion the classroom cannot generate.

Al Reem Island

Apartment towers with a bridge commute and growing Diploma numbers. Evening slots from 17:30 are reliable. Research project organisations are usually found through a parent's own workplace rather than locally.

Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Shakhbout City

Mainland communities with longer commutes and a wide curriculum mix. A Business Management specialist within a short drive is unlikely, and online delivery removes the travel premium an in-home rate carries here.

Al Shamkha, Al Falah and Baniyas

Growing mainland districts where a Business Management student may be one of a handful in their year. The realistic comparison is between having a subject specialist and having none, rather than between two delivery formats.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Abu Dhabi

Island and Saadiyat Diploma schools

Larger Group 3 cohorts and the longest-running Business Management teaching in the emirate. Internal research project deadlines here are usually set well ahead of the IB's window, so a family pricing project support should ask the school for its draft milestones, not just the final date.

  • The British School Al Khubairat
  • Cranleigh Abu Dhabi
  • Al Bateen Academy
  • Abu Dhabi International School
  • American Community School of Abu Dhabi

Khalifa City, Al Raha and Yas schools

Newer IB provision with smaller Business Management groups. The direct financial consequence is that less shared analysis of the pre-released case study happens in class, so parents end up buying in paid hours what a larger cohort would have produced in discussion.

  • Raha International School
  • Al Yasmina Academy
  • GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi
  • West Yas Academy
  • Emirates National Schools

Mainland and Mussafah schools

A wider curriculum mix, including schools running IGCSE Business to Year 11 before Diploma entry. Students from that route arrive with content and without the quantitative discipline the Diploma's finance unit requires, which is the most predictable cost in the first year.

  • Brighton College Abu Dhabi
  • Al Mamoura Academy
  • GEMS Cambridge International School Abu Dhabi
  • Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi

Schools are named only as context for the Abu Dhabi Diploma landscape; IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform with no affiliation, partnership or endorsement from any school, school group, regulator or examination board.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Say which of the three things you need

The pre-released case study, the research project, or finance and accounts. Those three cover most Business Management requests in this emirate, and naming one narrows the plan and the cost immediately. If more than one applies, say so, because the order they are bought in changes the total.

  2. 02

Send one marked answer or the project brief

A returned Paper 2 question, a marked quantitative section, or the school's research project brief with its internal deadlines. Any of those tells a specialist in minutes whether the job is technique, arithmetic or question design, which is the whole of the diagnosis.

  3. 03

Take the first session at no charge

A full session online with the matched tutor, with no payment and no card held. It should end with a written view: which component is costing marks, how many sessions that repair realistically takes, and whether any part of it could sensibly be shared with another student to reduce the cost.

  4. 04

Buy the blocks in the order that pays

Finance and accounts first, because it is mechanical and affects every paper. Research project question design next, because it expires. Case study preparation across the whole lead time rather than in the last six weeks. Paper 2 evaluation habits last, since they take a term rather than a block.

  5. 05

Review against marked work every six weeks

Compare marks by component against where they started. If the block you bought has not moved anything, change the diagnosis, the mode or the tutor rather than buying more of the same. A provider should be willing to tell you that the problem is revision habits rather than teaching, where that is what the evidence says.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Priced by component, with the sources named

Three of the six competitor pages measured for this cluster publish no price at all, and the two that do quote dollars. Every AED range here is attributed to the provider or rate table that published it and tied to the specific component a family would be buying.

Shared sessions offered where they genuinely help

The pre-released case study is identical for every candidate, so a shared session with two or three students produces better analysis at a lower cost per family. Saying so costs us revenue and it is the honest answer, and individual mark repair still happens one-to-one.

The research project boundary is written down

A tutor teaches research method, explains what the criteria reward, and comments on drafts the student has written. Supplying text, choosing the organisation and question outright, or revising a draft into a submission is malpractice under IB rules, and the consequence falls on the candidate.

Quotes made comparable before you commit

Session length, specialist against generalist, unused-session rules, whether the quoted AED figure is inclusive, and whether the tutor holds a current MoHRE permit. Five questions that make two Abu Dhabi quotes comparable, and a provider should answer all five plainly.

No accreditation claimed, because none is held

ADEK oversees Abu Dhabi private schools and KHDA oversees Dubai's, including the Educational Services Permit a training institute with premises requires. IB Gram holds no permit, approval, accreditation or partnership from any regulator, board, school or school group, and occupies no premises in the UAE.

Built around the Abu Dhabi calendar

Slots run 16:30 to 20:00 Gulf Standard Time and move after Iftar during Ramadan. Plans count backwards from the school's own research project milestones and the arrival of the pre-released case study, both of which fall earlier than families expect.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Abu Dhabi: your questions answered

What does a Diploma Business Management tutor charge an hour in Abu Dhabi?+

Market rates for IB specialist tutoring in the UAE run roughly AED 200 to AED 450 an hour, the band published in Bestimate's Tutoring Cost Dubai 2026 table. TutorChase publishes AED 270, Unitors lists IB tuition from AED 200, and BartyED publishes AED 650 for an examiner tier. Rates from AED 33 to AED 65 advertised by Tutopiya and EdFlik are university-student or group formats rather than Diploma specialists. The more useful question is how many hours your specific component needs, since the rate varies little and the hours vary a great deal.

Does the pre-released case study change what we should be paying for?+

Completely. Because the case is issued to schools ahead of the examination, a family has months of lead time rather than weeks, and nothing about the case changes in that period. Starting preparation when it arrives buys the same hours at the same rate and achieves far more than starting six weeks out. It also makes a shared session defensible, because every candidate in the world sits the same case and much of the groundwork is common analysis rather than individual diagnosis.

Is a shared class good value for preparing the pre-seen case?+

For that component, yes, and this is the one place in the subject where we will say so. The analysis of the organisation, its context, the units the case touches and the toolkit techniques it invites is identical for every candidate, and two or three students working through it together argue better than one student working alone. What a shared session cannot do is repair your own child's habit of asserting rather than justifying, or their specific timing problem. Keep that part one-to-one.

How many hours does supporting the 1,800-word research project take?+

Six to eight for most students, and they are front-loaded. Roughly one hour establishing whether a workable organisation with real information access actually exists, one or two framing a question narrow enough to answer in 1,800 words, one or two on methodology and which analytical tools the question genuinely needs, two on criterion-referenced feedback on the student's first full draft, and one on reallocating the word budget so the evaluation is not what gets cut. Bought after a question has been approved and found unanswerable, the same hours achieve much less.

Which analytical tools take the most teaching time?+

The quantitative ones and the ones students apply mechanically without interpretation. Investment appraisal and ratio analysis take real teaching because the marks are for what the figure means in a specific context rather than for the calculation. Decision trees and critical path analysis take practice because the arithmetic is easy and the errors are careless. The strategic frameworks are quicker to teach and more often misused: applied because they are familiar rather than because the question needs them, which earns nothing.

Does Higher Level Business Management cost more to support than Standard Level?+

Usually, and the reason is a specific component rather than a higher rate. Higher Level adds a third paper built on an unseen case about a social enterprise, which asks for a justified recommendation rather than a balanced evaluation. Students who write strong Paper 2 answers often write weak Paper 3 ones, because a good evaluation weighs and declines to choose while this paper requires a choice. That is a separate block of four to six sessions, and it is the main difference between the two levels on an invoice.

Why does finance and accounts drive up a Business Management bill?+

Because it is the only unit in the subject where an answer can be plainly wrong. A weak response on motivation theory still scores something; a cash flow forecast with an arithmetic error scores nothing for that item, and a ratio interpreted backwards is worse than no interpretation. Students who are fluent on the discursive units find that fluency does not transfer. The content is bounded, so four to six sessions normally covers it, and buying it when the unit is taught costs the same as buying it in a panic a year later.

How do we compare two tutoring quotes for Business Management in Abu Dhabi?+

Five questions make them comparable. How long is a session, since forty-five and ninety minutes are both called a session in this market. Is the tutor a Business Management specialist or a generalist across Group 3, and which did they teach most recently at Diploma level. What happens to unused sessions in a package. Is the quoted AED figure inclusive of value added tax. And does the tutor hold a current MoHRE private tuition work permit. A provider who answers all five plainly is usually the safer choice.

Are monthly Business Management packages cheaper than paying hourly?+

Sometimes, and the comparison needs the questions above. Packages circulating in this market run around AED 799 a month for eight online sessions and AED 1,599 to AED 1,799 a month for four two-hour in-home sessions. Check the real session length, the carry-over rule for unused sessions, and whether the package tutor is a specialist. For Business Management there is a further consideration: most families spend in three concentrated blocks rather than evenly across two years, and a monthly package assumes a steady pattern they may not want.

Do you send a Business Management tutor to our house in Al Raha Gardens?+

No. IB Gram does not offer home visits anywhere in the UAE; home visits are a service we run only in India. All Abu Dhabi lessons are one-to-one over live video on Gulf Standard Time. On rate the two options overlap anyway, with Bestimate putting in-home one-to-one at AED 180 to AED 350 against AED 200 to AED 450 for an online specialist. What differs is reach: a Business Management specialist with research project experience is a narrow brief, and restricting it to a short evening drive narrows it much further.

Does my daughter need a real organisation for the research project?+

Yes, and settling that before anything else is the cheapest hour you will spend on the project. A student with access to someone willing to answer questions, share figures or describe a decision has a project. A student who has picked a large multinational online and hopes public material will answer their question usually discovers in the second draft that it does not. In Abu Dhabi this is most often solved through a parent's own workplace, and families near the central business district tend to have the easiest time of it.

Can a tutor help choose the research question without breaking IB rules?+

A tutor can teach what makes a question answerable, test a student's proposed question against the information actually available, and explain why a question is too broad for 1,800 words. What a tutor cannot do is choose the organisation and the question on the student's behalf, supply text, or revise a draft into something submittable. The distinction is between teaching judgement and exercising it for them. The school supervisor keeps the authenticity record, and the IB treats a breach as malpractice by the candidate.

What does it cost to add a second subject to a Business Management plan?+

Less than two separate plans if the subjects share content, and the same as two plans if they do not. Digital Society shares technology adoption and organisational change with Business Management, and the research habits transfer, so one tutor across both can cut total hours. Economics shares much less than families assume: market structures and some demand analysis, with completely different assessment instincts. Two specialists is usually the honest answer for Business and Economics, and that doubles the weekly spend rather than reducing it.

Does a Business Management tutor in Abu Dhabi need a permit?+

Yes. Private tutoring in the UAE runs on the MoHRE private tutor work permit, introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023 and granted free of charge for two years to a defined list including registered school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. Tutoring without it carries fines and penalties under the applicable laws, and no fine schedule is published, so distrust any figure quoted. In Abu Dhabi, ADEK ethics rules additionally bar school staff from paid tutoring of their own enrolled students.

We only want help for the final six weeks before the papers. What does that look like?+

It looks like the most expensive hours per mark on the whole course, and it is still worth doing if nothing earlier was possible. At six weeks the research project is submitted and those marks are fixed, so the money goes entirely into the papers. Expect two sessions a week, which sits in Bestimate's AED 1,000 to AED 2,000 and above monthly band for specialist exam-year support. The highest return in that window is finance and accounts technique and shown working, because both are mechanical. Evaluation habits rarely change in six weeks.

Start by naming which of the three you need

Business Management support in Abu Dhabi is bought for the pre-released case study, the 1,800-word research project, or finance and accounts, and the three cost very different amounts because they take very different numbers of hours. The case study rewards lead time and can be shared. The project rewards one early hour on the question more than any amount of later rewriting. Finance and accounts is mechanical and recoverable. Send one marked answer or the school's project brief, take the first session at no charge, and buy the blocks in the order the diagnosis gives you.
