IB DP Business Management Home Tutor in Abu Dhabi

Most families searching for an IB DP business management home tutor in Abu Dhabi want one number before anything else: what an hour costs. This page answers that in AED, names the things that move the figure in this emirate rather than in Dubai, and shows where the money goes across the three assessed components. Lessons run online, one to one, over live video on Gulf Standard Time, so the tutor is chosen for the component your child is losing marks on rather than for a short drive to Khalifa City.

  • Every AED band on this page is attributed to the source that published it
  • One-to-one online over live video, stated before any rate is discussed
  • A free trial lesson with the tutor who would hold the weekly slot
  • Research-project support is feedback on your child's own work only

IB & IGCSE in Abu Dhabi

Start with the number, then work out what the number is buying

Three of the six highest-ranking tutoring pages for Abu Dhabi queries publish no price at all, and the two that do quote US dollars. That is a strange way to answer a question every parent asks in the first message. So here is the honest version. Market rates for a qualified subject tutor working online in the UAE run roughly AED 150-300 an hour, with IB and IGCSE specialists quoted between AED 200 and AED 450 and upwards. In-home visits sit higher, roughly AED 180-500, because the tutor's travel is priced into the hour whether the lesson uses it or not. Those bands come from published competitor pages and from Bestimate's Dubai tutoring rate table, and each one is attributed in the table further down.

What those figures do not tell you is why the same subject is quoted at AED 150 by one provider and AED 450 by another. For Diploma Business Management the answer is unusually clear, because the grade is assembled from three components that need three different kinds of teacher. A generalist can revise content. Only someone who has marked the subject can read a data-response answer and say which four marks were available and never claimed. And only someone who knows the research project's criteria can tell a DP2 student that a 1,800-word report with no primary data behind it has a ceiling, whatever the writing is like.

Abu Dhabi changes the arithmetic in ways Dubai does not. The emirate is spread out: the island, the Khalifa City and Al Raha corridor, the newer mainland communities at Al Shamkha and Al Falah, and then Al Ain and the Al Dhafra region a long drive away. A tutor who has to cross that geography twice for a 60-minute lesson is selling you travel at a subject-specialist rate. The emirate also closes the cheapest route that Dubai parents sometimes take: press-reported ADEK professional-ethics rules bar private and charter school staff from taking paid private tutoring work with students enrolled at their own school, and the MoHRE private tuition work permit carries a code of conduct that says the same. Verify the current wording against ADEK's own policy document before you rely on it, but plan on the assumption that your child's own class teacher is not available privately.

The rest of this page is a cost argument with the numbers shown. It sets out what the market charges and who published each figure, what travel adds to an hour in this emirate, which of the three Business Management components is worth paying a specialist premium for, and what a two-year Diploma support budget looks like beside a school-fee bill. It also says plainly where a tutor has to stop. IB Gram does not offer home visits in Abu Dhabi or anywhere else in the UAE; home visits are a service we run only in India. Every UAE lesson is one-to-one online over live video, and the case for that is made on cost and on tutor choice rather than on convenience.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to UAE school years

Business Management sits at Diploma level, but the money question usually arrives earlier, when a family is budgeting across a whole programme. These are the stages an Abu Dhabi family is actually paying for, and what each one costs in tutoring terms rather than in school fees.

DPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Diploma Programme

The two years where Business Management is examined. Standard and Higher Level share the same five content units and the same internally assessed research project; Higher Level sits a longer first paper and a wider set of extended-response demands. Tutoring here is the most expensive band in the market because the teacher has to know the mark scheme, not only the content.

Abu Dhabi Diploma cohorts are often small. A school may run one Business Management class across both years, with a single teacher covering Standard and Higher Level together. That is where private support stops being optional for a student aiming above a 5, and it is also why specialist rates hold firm in this emirate even when general tutoring rates soften.

MYPAges 11-16 · Years 7-11

Middle Years Programme

Individuals and Societies in the Middle Years Programme is where the habits that decide a Business Management grade are formed, or not formed. Students learn to describe rather than to apply, and the criteria reward structured argument long before Diploma does. Rates here sit lower, closer to the AED 150-250 band, because the marking load is lighter.

Abu Dhabi families moving from a Middle Years Programme into Diploma Business Management often buy the wrong thing first: content revision, when the gap is applying a tool to a named organisation. Six hours of targeted work in the summer before DP1 costs less than a term of weekly sessions in DP2 and usually buys more.

COREAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

The Diploma core: IA, EE and TOK

The business research project, an Extended Essay in Business Management, and the Theory of Knowledge requirement all land in the same months. Families frequently budget for subject lessons and then discover the coursework block separately. Coursework support is priced by the hour in the same specialist band, and it is almost always bought in a short scoped block rather than weekly.

Deadlines in Abu Dhabi schools cluster around the long weekends and the Eid breaks, so the coursework block has to be booked earlier than a family expects. Plan the research-project hours against your school's internal deadline, not against the external session, because the internal date is usually months ahead.

CPAges 16-19 · Years 12-13

Career-related Programme

A smaller presence in the emirate, but it exists, and it pairs Diploma courses with a career-related study. Families comparing it against the full Diploma often ask whether the Business Management tutoring they are buying transfers. The subject content does; the core requirements and the reflective project do not, and they are priced separately.

Where an Abu Dhabi school offers the Career-related Programme alongside the Diploma, the Business Management course taken within it is the same Diploma course. A quote for one should look like a quote for the other. If it does not, ask the provider which components they have actually taught.

Subject coverage

IB and IGCSE subjects we tutor

Business Management is rarely the only line in the budget. These are the Diploma subjects Abu Dhabi families most often pair with it, with a note on what each one actually assesses, because the assessment is what sets the rate.

Business Management

HL and SL

Five content units, two written papers and an internally assessed research project worth a quarter of the grade. The first paper is built on a case study the IB releases in advance. Marks are lost on tools applied without a named organisation behind them, and on recommendations that do not weigh a cost against a benefit.

Economics

HL and SL

Microeconomics, macroeconomics, the global economy and an internally assessed portfolio of commentaries on published news articles. Diagram accuracy carries real marks, and most lost marks sit in explanation rather than in the drawing. Rates track Business Management closely because the marking demand is similar.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL and SL

The route most Business Management students take. Statistics, financial mathematics and modelling, with a technology-permitted paper. The exploration is marked against the same criteria set as every other mathematics exploration, and students underestimate the mathematical rigour it needs.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL and SL

The algebra-heavy route, taken by Business Management students aiming at economics or finance degrees that specify it. Proof, calculus and a non-calculator paper. Check the admissions pages of the universities on your child's list before switching, because the requirement varies by course rather than by institution.

Psychology

HL and SL

Three approaches to behaviour, an option topic, and an experimental study written up against four criteria. The pairing with Business Management is common in Abu Dhabi schools because both reward structured argument. Marks go missing in the critical-thinking strand rather than in recall.

Global Politics

HL and SL

Core political concepts examined through a source booklet and extended responses, with an engagement project behind a written report. Students who argue well in conversation still score mid-band because they do not anchor a claim to a concept and a case.

English A: Language and Literature

HL and SL

Non-literary and literary texts, a paper of unseen analysis, an individual oral and, at Higher Level, an essay on a studied work. The analysis paper is where a Business Management student's habit of summarising rather than analysing costs the most.

Geography

HL and SL

Core units on population, climate vulnerability and resource security, optional themes, and a fieldwork report with a word ceiling. Shares with Business Management a dependence on named case material; a general answer about a general place scores in the lowest band.

History

HL and SL

A source-based paper, comparative essays, a Higher Level regional option and a 2,200-word historical investigation. Pairs with Business Management in Abu Dhabi humanities blocks, and the two share one failure mode: assertion without evidence attached.

Computer Science

HL and SL

Computational thinking, program design in the IB's own pseudocode, and a solution developed for a real client with documentation attached. Chosen alongside Business Management by students heading for information-systems or analytics degrees.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around UAE school timetables

Three ways families in this emirate actually buy Business Management support, with the cost shape of each. The right one depends on how far from the examination your child is and on which component is losing the marks.

A scoped block against one component

Six to ten hours aimed at a single component, usually the data-response paper or the research project. You buy a fixed number of hours, the tutor states at the outset what the block will produce, and the block ends. It is the cheapest honest purchase in this subject and the one most providers will not quote because it does not recur.

  • Priced as hours, not as a term
  • Ends on a stated date with marked work handed back
  • Suits a DP2 student with one weak component

A weekly hour through the Diploma year

The standard shape, and the one the monthly package rates in the market are built around. A single protected hour a week, with written work set between sessions and marked before the next one. At market mid-band rates this lands around AED 600-1,200 a month for one hour a week, on Bestimate's own estimate for weekly one-hour sessions.

  • One fixed slot, held across the term
  • Written work marked inside the hourly rate
  • Reviewed at six weeks, with a recommendation either way

Case-study intensives before the written papers

Short runs of sessions timed to the pre-released case study, usually two hours a week for four to six weeks. Demand for these hours spikes across the emirate at the same time, which is why booking late means paying the top of the band or not getting the slot at all.

  • Built around the released case study, not around content revision
  • Booked weeks ahead because every Diploma cohort wants the same window
  • Priced per hour; no premium applied for the exam season

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Abu Dhabi

01

What Diploma Business Management support costs in the Abu Dhabi market

  • Ask what a quoted hour includes before comparing it against another quoted hour
  • Divide any monthly package by the sessions it contains and compare per hour
  • Ask what happens to a session your family cannot use
  • No permit fee should appear on a tutoring invoice

A qualified subject tutor working online in the UAE is quoted between roughly AED 150 and AED 300 an hour. An IB or IGCSE specialist sits between roughly AED 200 and AED 450 and upwards. An in-home visit runs roughly AED 180-500 because travel is inside the hour. Those are market bands, read from published provider pages and from Bestimate's Dubai rate table in October 2026, not an IB Gram price list.

The band a Business Management quote lands in depends almost entirely on what the hour includes. At the lower end you are buying lesson time: the tutor explains a unit, sets a question, and the student marks their own work or nobody does. At the specialist end the hour includes a script read against the published criteria, a written comment that names the marks available and not claimed, and a plan that says which component the next three sessions attack. The gap between those two products is larger than the gap between the prices.

Monthly packages circulating in the market tell the same story from another angle. AED 799 a month for eight online sessions works out near the bottom of the qualified-tutor band per hour, and it assumes all eight sessions are used. In-home packages recorded at AED 1,599-1,799 a month for four two-hour sessions price the tutor's travel four times over. Before comparing any package against an hourly quote, divide it out and ask what happens to an unused session.

One number is not negotiable in either direction: the MoHRE private tuition work permit is granted free of charge for two years. If a provider adds a licensing or registration fee to your invoice, ask what it is for. The permit itself carries no charge, and the official route to it is MoHRE's own private tutor licensing service.

Why the in-home premium is larger in Abu Dhabi than in Dubai

Abu Dhabi is a long emirate. The Diploma schools sit mainly on the island, on Saadiyat, and along the Khalifa City to Al Raha corridor, while a large share of the families who want Business Management support live in the newer mainland communities or out towards Al Ain and the Al Dhafra region. A tutor driving between those two maps twice for one 60-minute lesson is selling an hour of teaching and two hours of car.

That arithmetic is why in-home quotes in this emirate arrive with conditions attached far more often than in Dubai: a two-hour minimum booking, a weekend-only slot, a surcharge that is described as a travel allowance, or a flat refusal for an address beyond a stated radius. None of those are unreasonable. They are what the distance costs. They are also, measured per hour of teaching actually received, the largest avoidable line in an Abu Dhabi tutoring budget.

Online removes the line rather than discounting it. A family in Al Shamkha and a family in Al Bateen are quoted the same hour, and both choose from the same pool of Business Management specialists instead of from whoever is willing to drive. For a subject with three distinct components and a small teaching population in the emirate, that pool difference is worth more than the money saved.

To be explicit about what we do and do not sell: IB Gram does not send a tutor to an Abu Dhabi address. Home visits are a service we run only in India, and no sentence on this site should be read as promising otherwise. What we deliver in this emirate is scheduled, one-to-one, live-video tuition on Gulf Standard Time, with the screen shared both ways so a student's working is visible while it is being written.

The ADEK rule that closes the cheapest route in this emirate

  • Ask any independent tutor whether they hold a current MoHRE private tuition work permit
  • The permit is free and valid for two years; a fee on your invoice needs explaining
  • A teacher at your child's own school is very likely not an available option here
  • Apply through MoHRE's own private tutor licensing service, not through an intermediary

A route some families try first is to ask a teacher at their child's own school for paid private lessons. In Abu Dhabi, plan on that being closed. Press reporting on ADEK's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff describes a prohibition on providing paid private tutoring to students enrolled at the teacher's own school, and the MoHRE private tuition work permit carries a code of conduct described in the same terms. Because this is press-reported rather than quoted from the policy document here, verify the current wording with ADEK directly before relying on it.

The underlying federal position is clearer and worth knowing in full. Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated by permit. The MoHRE private tutor work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, it is granted free of charge for two years, and the eligible categories include teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students, and school students aged 15 to 18. Individuals offering private tutoring without a permit are subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws. No fine schedule is published, so no figure should be quoted to you as fact.

What this means for a budget is simple. The informally cheap option in this emirate is usually also the non-compliant one, and the saving is not worth the position it puts a teacher in. A permitted independent tutor, an agency, a tuition centre with premises and the correct KHDA or emirate-level permit, and an online platform are the four legitimate shapes. They price differently, and the comparison table in the market-rate section is drawn across models rather than across brands for exactly that reason.

One further distinction matters. An individual tutor needs the MoHRE permit. An operation with premises and staff in Dubai needs a KHDA Educational Services Permit for a training institute, which is a different instrument with its own renewal cycle. IB Gram holds no regulator approval, accreditation or licence from ADEK, KHDA, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, and claims none. We name those bodies to explain what they govern, nothing more.

04

What the specialist premium is actually buying across three components

  • Content gaps: cheapest to fix, and a generalist can do it
  • Data-response application: needs a reader who knows the criteria
  • Research project: the expensive failure, because it is discovered late
  • Every tool anchored to a named organisation, with a number and a limitation

Business Management is assessed through two written papers and one internally assessed business research project. The research project carries a quarter of the final grade and has an 1,800-word ceiling. The first written paper is built on a case study the IB releases to schools in advance. The second is a data-response paper. The precise durations and the split between the two papers differ between Standard and Higher Level and between guide versions, so confirm your child's exact weightings with the school's Diploma coordinator rather than taking a figure from any tutoring page, including this one.

Those three components fail in three different ways, and that is the real argument for paying a specialist rate for some hours and a lower rate for others. Content gaps across the five units are the cheapest problem to fix and the one a competent generalist handles well. Application failure on the data-response paper is middling: it needs someone who can read an answer and name the marks that were available. Research-project failure is the expensive one, because by the time a weak project is visible in a draft the primary research behind it may already be unusable.

The pattern a marker sees most often is a tool deployed without an organisation attached. A student writes a textbook-perfect account of what a particular planning tool does, applies it to nothing, and scores in the lower band. The fix is not more content. It is a drill: every tool, every time, anchored to a named organisation in the case material with a number attached and a limitation acknowledged. That drill is cheap to run and it moves marks faster than anything else in this subject.

The second pattern is the recommendation that does not weigh anything. Extended responses in this subject ask for a judgement, and a judgement needs a cost set against a benefit and a condition under which the answer would change. Students who write fluent description and then stop one sentence short of the judgement lose the top band on every long answer on the paper. Both patterns are diagnosable from one marked script, which is why the first thing a sensible engagement produces is a marked script rather than a lesson plan.

05

A two-year Diploma support budget beside an Abu Dhabi school-fee bill

Families rarely overspend on tutoring because the hourly rate was wrong. They overspend because the hours were bought in the wrong shape and at the wrong time. A weekly hour running from the first week of DP1 to the May session of DP2 is around seventy hours of tuition. At the mid band that is a substantial figure, and a large share of those hours will land in weeks when the student had nothing to work on.

The alternative shape costs less and usually achieves more: a diagnostic engagement of two or three hours early in DP1 to establish where the student actually sits, a scoped block against whichever component the diagnosis names, a research-project block timed to the school's internal deadline rather than to the external one, and a case-study intensive before the written papers. That is perhaps thirty to forty hours across two years, concentrated where the marks are.

The context figure worth holding alongside it is the school fee. KHDA confirmed in May 2026 that there would be no increase in private school fees in Dubai for the 2026-27 academic year under the emirate's second economic incentives package. Abu Dhabi fee regulation sits with ADEK and operates on its own cycle, so check your own school's position. The point for budgeting is that tutoring is the variable line in an education budget and the fee is the fixed one, which makes tutoring the line families cut first and the one they should plan most carefully.

The table below sets the figures side by side. Every number in it is a market or published figure with its source named, and none of them is an IB Gram quote. What IB Gram charges is discussed after a free trial lesson with the tutor who would actually hold the slot, because a rate quoted before anybody has seen your child's work is a guess with a decimal point.

The pre-released case study and what it does to the price curve

  • Ask the Diploma coordinator when the case study is expected
  • Book the intensive before the release, not in the fortnight after it
  • Build working knowledge of the organisation, not a bank of model answers
  • Treat offers of pre-written answers as a warning sign about the provider

One feature of this subject distorts demand across the whole emirate at the same moment. The first written paper is built on a case study the IB releases to schools ahead of the examination. Every Business Management cohort in Abu Dhabi receives it within the same window, every teacher begins working through it at once, and every family that decides it needs help decides so in the same fortnight.

The consequence is predictable. Specialist availability in this subject thins sharply in the weeks after the release, and the slots that remain are the ones nobody wants: late evenings, early mornings, weekend afternoons. Families who book in that fortnight are choosing from what is left rather than from who is right, and that is a worse outcome than paying slightly more earlier.

The work itself rewards early preparation in a specific way. A released case study is a finite document, and the marks come from knowing the organisation in it well enough to apply any tool to it without re-reading. Students who treat it as revision material to be skimmed before the paper score what skimming earns. Students who build a working knowledge of the organisation's numbers, stakeholders and constraints over a term can answer a question they have not seen on material they know cold.

Practically, that means the useful conversation about case-study support happens before the release rather than after it. Ask the school's Diploma coordinator when the material is expected. Book the intensive against that date. And treat anybody offering a pre-written set of model answers to a released case study with suspicion, because a handed-over answer is both worthless in the examination hall and a route into an academic-honesty investigation.

07

Academic honesty in the research project, and the one cost never worth paying

  • A tutor teaches method, questions choices and comments on the student's own draft
  • A tutor does not supply text, rewrite to final form or perform the analysis
  • Ask for a written coursework position before booking any hours
  • Finished coursework for sale is a malpractice risk carried entirely by the student

There is a visible market in this region for finished Diploma coursework. One site in the research set sells completed internal assessments outright. For an Abu Dhabi family weighing a budget, this needs stating without euphemism: buying assessed work is academic malpractice under the IB's own rules, the consequence falls on the student rather than on the seller, and the saving is not a saving.

What a tutor is permitted to do with a business research project is substantial and worth paying for. A tutor may teach the research methods the project needs, explain what each assessment criterion is asking for in plain language, question the choice of organisation and research question before any data is collected, read a student's own draft and comment on it, point out where a claim is unevidenced, and ask the questions that make a student revise their own work. All of that is teaching.

What a tutor may not do is produce any part of the assessed work. No tutor should supply text for a project, rewrite a section into its final form, select and summarise the sources so the student need not read them, or generate the analysis the student is supposed to perform. A tutor who offers any of that is offering something that can end a Diploma. The boundary is not subtle and a good tutor will state it to you unprompted.

Ask any provider in this emirate for their written position on coursework before you book, and read the answer carefully. A provider who answers in general terms about integrity while describing a service that produces drafts is telling you something. A provider who says plainly which actions they will refuse has given you the single most useful piece of information available for comparing quotes.

08

Testing a quote, and what happens when nobody local is free

Four questions separate a quote worth paying from one that is not, and none of them is about price. First: which Business Management component will the first three sessions attack, and how was that decided? A tutor who answers before seeing any of your child's work is guessing. Second: is marking inside the hourly rate or billed separately? Third: what will be handed back in writing after each session? Fourth: at what point will you tell us this is not working?

The fourth question is the one that matters most and the one almost nobody asks. A provider with no mechanism for recommending less tutoring has an incentive problem. A six-week review that can end in a recommendation to stop is worth more to a family than a discount, because the largest cost in this market is not the hourly rate. It is hours bought for a term that stopped being useful in week three.

On availability, the honest position. The Diploma Business Management teaching population inside the UAE is small, and in a given week there may be no Abu Dhabi-based specialist free at the hour your family needs. Where that happens, we say so and offer the slot with a tutor based elsewhere who teaches the same specification, at the same rate, on Gulf Standard Time. No competitor in the researched set discloses a coverage limit at all; several conceal non-UAE delivery behind an overseas phone number.

If a component is genuinely not covered at the level your child needs, the useful answer is a referral rather than a booking. A family that is told plainly that we cannot staff a Higher Level slot this term has lost nothing. A family sold a generalist at specialist rates has lost a term and the money. That trade-off is the whole argument for reading a cost page before a sales page.

Areas we cover across Abu Dhabi

Delivery is online, so the area a family lives in does not change availability. It does change what an in-home quote would cost, and it changes what time a session can realistically start. These are the Abu Dhabi communities the cost question comes from most often.

Al Reem Island

Dense apartment living with schools a short causeway away, so the in-home premium here is the smallest in the emirate. Evening slots still compete with the bridge traffic back onto the island, which is why a 4.30pm online start is easier to hold than an in-home one.

Al Maryah Island

Mostly professional households with Diploma students bussed off-island to school. Families here tend to compare a provider's hourly rate against the monthly package rates circulating in the market, and the package maths only works if the sessions are actually used.

Khalifa City

A villa belt with a long internal road network, so an in-home tutor charges for the distance between two addresses that look close on a map. Several of the emirate's Diploma cohorts sit in or near this corridor, which concentrates demand for the same evening hours.

Al Raha Beach

Apartment and townhouse mix with a school run that empties late. A 60-minute in-home lesson here usually arrives as a two-hour minimum booking because of the approach road, and that doubling is the single largest hidden cost in the emirate's in-home market.

Al Bateen

Older established island neighbourhood with some of the longest-running Diploma teaching in Abu Dhabi. Parents here ask the most detailed questions about what a rate includes, and they are right to: the difference between a lesson and a marked script is the difference between two bands.

Mussafah and Mohammed Bin Zayed City

Mainland communities where in-home quotes thin out quickly and the few that arrive sit at the top of the AED 180-500 band. Online removes the distinction entirely, and it is the reason a Business Management specialist is reachable here at all.

Al Shamkha and Al Falah

Newer family communities a long drive from the island's school cluster. Weekday in-home tutoring is barely a market here. A weekday evening online slot costs the same as it costs a family in Al Bateen, which is the whole point of the model.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Abu Dhabi

Island and Saadiyat Diploma cohorts

Business Management is taught across this cluster, usually by a single teacher covering both levels. Students we support attend schools here; no affiliation with any of them is implied or claimed. Ask your school's Diploma coordinator which content units the class has covered before you brief a tutor, because sequencing varies.

  • Al Bateen Academy
  • GEMS World Academy Abu Dhabi
  • Abu Dhabi International School

Khalifa City, Al Raha and the eastern corridor

The corridor where the emirate's Diploma demand concentrates, and where the 4pm to 6pm slots fill first. Families here are the most likely to have been quoted an in-home rate with a two-hour minimum, and the most likely to find an online hour cheaper for the same specialist.

  • Raha International School
  • Al Yasmina Academy
  • GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi
  • Reach British School
  • Repton School Abu Dhabi

Al Reem, Al Mushrif and the mainland communities

A mix of Diploma and British-track schools, which matters for budgeting because a family moving a child between tracks pays for a transition rather than for weekly support. The two are priced differently and should be quoted differently.

How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

  1. 01

Send the evidence, not the worry

A marked Business Management script, the most recent report comment and your school's internal coursework deadline tell us more in two minutes than a long description of the problem. Families who send work get a specific answer about which component to attack; families who send a worry get a general one.

  2. 02

A free trial lesson with the tutor who would teach

Not a sales call and not a different tutor from the one who would hold the slot. The trial is held with the papers open, and it ends with a statement of which component the first block should target and why. If that statement is vague, do not book the block.

  3. 03

Agree the block, the rate and the review date

Hours, not terms. You agree how many hours, what each session will hand back in writing, what is included in the rate, and the date at which somebody will say whether it is working. All four in writing before any money moves.

  4. 04

    Written work marked between sessions

A session that does not produce something marked has produced a conversation. Each block sets written work against the published criteria, returns it with a comment naming the marks available and not claimed, and uses the next session to close the gap the comment identified.

  5. 05

Review at six weeks, including the option to stop

At six weeks the marked scripts either show movement or they do not. Where they do not, the recommendation may be a different tutor, a different component, or no tutoring at all. A review that can only ever recommend continuing is not a review.

Why families choose us

What UAE parents tell us matters most

Every AED figure here carries its source

The rate bands on this page come from named published provider pages and from Bestimate's Dubai rate table, read in October 2026. None of them is presented as our price. A figure without a source and a date is a figure nobody can check, and this market is full of them.

Online one-to-one, said before the rate

Tuition for UAE families is delivered live over video, one to one. IB Gram does not run home visits in the UAE; that service exists only in India. Saying so before quoting anything is cheaper for everyone than discovering it at the booking stage.

No regulator borrowed as a badge

IB Gram holds no approval, accreditation, licence or partnership from ADEK, KHDA, SPEA, the Ministry of Education, MoHRE, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson. Those bodies are named on this page to explain what they govern. Any provider implying otherwise is making a claim worth checking.

A stated position on assessed work

A tutor teaches method, questions choices and comments on a student's own draft. A tutor does not produce assessed work. That position is published rather than promised, and it is the clearest line between a tutoring service and the finished-coursework market that operates alongside it.

Coverage limits disclosed rather than concealed

Where no specialist is free at your hour we say so, and offer a tutor based elsewhere on the same specification at the same rate. No researched competitor in this cluster discloses a coverage limit; several route UAE families to an overseas number without mentioning it.

A review that can recommend less

Six weeks in, the marked work either moved or it did not. The review can end in a different component, a different tutor, or stopping. A provider that cannot recommend fewer hours is not advising you, and the largest waste in this market is hours that stopped being useful in week three.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Abu Dhabi: your questions answered

What does a Diploma Business Management tutor charge per hour in Abu Dhabi?+

Market rates for a qualified subject tutor working online in the UAE run roughly AED 150-300 an hour, with IB specialists quoted from about AED 200 to AED 450 and upwards. In-home visits sit higher, roughly AED 180-500, because travel is priced inside the hour. Those bands come from published provider pages and Bestimate's Dubai rate table, read in October 2026, and they are the market rather than our price list. What actually separates a quote at the bottom of a band from one at the top is whether marking, criteria-referenced written feedback and a component plan are included in the hour or billed on top of it.

Why is the in-home rate higher in Abu Dhabi than the online rate?+

Because the drive is inside the fee. The Diploma schools cluster on the island, Saadiyat and the Khalifa City to Al Raha corridor, while a lot of demand comes from Al Shamkha, Al Falah, Mussafah and further out. A 25 to 40 kilometre each-way journey adds an hour or more of unpaid time to a 60-minute lesson, so quotes arrive with two-hour minimums, travel allowances or radius limits attached. Those conditions are not unreasonable; they are what the distance costs. Measured per hour of teaching actually received, they are the biggest avoidable line in an Abu Dhabi tutoring budget.

Can a teacher at my child's Abu Dhabi school tutor them privately for pay?+

Plan on no. Press reporting on ADEK's professional-ethics rules for private and charter school staff describes a prohibition on paid private tutoring of students enrolled at the teacher's own school, and the MoHRE private tuition work permit carries a code of conduct described in similar terms. Because that is press-reported rather than quoted here from the policy document, confirm the current wording with ADEK before relying on it. The practical effect is that the informally cheapest route in this emirate is usually also the non-compliant one, and it puts the teacher rather than the family at risk.

Does a quoted rate include marking my child's business research project drafts?+

Ask, because this is where quotes diverge most. At the lower end of the market the hour is lesson time and nothing is marked. At the specialist end the rate includes reading a draft against the published assessment criteria and returning a written comment that names which marks were available and not claimed. Some providers bill coursework feedback as a separate product at a separate rate. Neither approach is wrong, but comparing a rate that includes marking against one that does not makes the cheaper quote look better than it is by a wide margin.

How many hours of Business Management support does a DP2 student usually need?+

Fewer than a weekly slot across two years implies, and in a different shape. A useful pattern is two or three diagnostic hours to establish where the student sits, a scoped block of six to ten hours against whichever component the diagnosis names, a separate block timed to the school's internal research-project deadline, and a short intensive before the written papers. That is roughly thirty to forty hours across the Diploma rather than seventy. The saving is real, but the reason to prefer it is that the hours land where marks are actually available.

Is the pre-released case study worth booking extra hours for?+

For most students, yes, and earlier than feels necessary. The first written paper is built on material the IB releases to schools in advance, so every Abu Dhabi cohort receives it in the same window and specialist availability thins sharply in the fortnight afterwards. The marks come from knowing the organisation well enough to apply any tool without re-reading, which takes weeks rather than days. Ask your Diploma coordinator when the release is expected and book against that date. Treat any offer of pre-written model answers as a reason to walk away.

What is the word limit on the business research project?+

The business research project has an 1,800-word ceiling, and it carries a quarter of the subject grade. That combination is what makes it the most expensive component to fix late: by the time a weak project is visible in a draft, the primary research behind it may already be unusable, and no amount of rewriting inside 1,800 words will rescue a question that cannot be answered with the data collected. Confirm the exact requirements and your school's internal deadline with the Diploma coordinator, since internal dates usually sit months ahead of anything external.

Can a tutor choose the research project topic and organisation for my child?+

No, and a tutor who offers to is offering a problem. What a tutor can properly do is question a choice before any data is collected: is this organisation accessible, will the research question survive contact with real data, is the method one a student can actually run, and does the chosen focus let the student hit every criterion? That questioning is the highest-value hour in the whole component. The decision, the data collection and every word of the report have to be the student's own, and the consequence of the alternative falls on the student.

Which Business Management component should we spend on first?+

Whichever one a marked script says is losing marks, which is why the first thing a sensible engagement produces is a marked script rather than a lesson plan. In practice two patterns dominate. The first is a tool explained correctly and applied to nothing, which scores in the lower band regardless of how well it is written. The second is an extended response that describes fluently and then stops one sentence short of a judgement weighing a cost against a benefit. Both are diagnosable from one script and both move quickly once named.

Do tutoring rates in this emirate rise in the weeks before the May session?+

The published bands do not move much, but availability does, and availability behaves like a price. In the weeks after the case study is released and again in the run-up to the May session, the specialists are booked and the slots left over are the awkward ones. Families booking late end up choosing from who is free rather than from who is right, which costs more than a higher hourly rate would. The practical advice is to book the exam-season block a term early and to expect the useful hours to be gone by the time the pressure is obvious.

Does a private tutor working in Abu Dhabi need a permit, and does it cost anything?+

Yes to the permit and no to the cost. Private tutoring in the UAE is regulated: the MoHRE private tutor work permit was introduced by Ministerial Resolution No. 710 of 2023, and it is granted free of charge for two years. Eligible categories include school teachers, government and private-sector employees, unemployed residents, university students and school students aged 15 to 18. Anyone tutoring without a permit is subject to fines and penalties under the applicable laws, though no fine schedule is published, so treat any specific figure quoted at you as unverified.

Is the AED range shown here what IB Gram charges for Business Management?+

No. Every band here is a market figure read from a named published source in October 2026: provider pages that publish their own rates, and Bestimate's Dubai tutoring rate table. They are on the page because three of the six highest-ranking competitor pages publish no price at all and the two that do quote US dollars, which is not a currency UAE families transact in. What IB Gram charges is discussed after a free trial lesson with the tutor who would hold the slot, because a rate quoted before anyone has seen the student's work is a guess.

What happens if no Abu Dhabi-based Business Management specialist is free at our hour?+

We say so, and offer the slot with a tutor based elsewhere who teaches the same specification, at the same rate, scheduled on Gulf Standard Time. The Diploma Business Management teaching population inside the UAE is genuinely small, and in a given week there may be nobody free at 5pm on a Tuesday. Where a component cannot be covered at the level your child needs, the right answer is to say the slot is unavailable rather than substitute a generalist at a specialist rate. No competitor in the researched set discloses a coverage limit at all.

Can Business Management sessions move to post-Iftar timing during Ramadan?+

Yes, and most families in this emirate ask for it. School hours shorten during Ramadan, the useful study window shifts late, and a 4.30pm slot that worked in January is the worst possible hour in March. Because delivery is online there is no travel to rearrange, so moving a standing slot to after Iftar is a calendar change rather than a renegotiation. The same applies to the long weekends and the Eid breaks, which is when internal coursework deadlines in Abu Dhabi schools tend to cluster and when a scoped block earns its place.

Do we pay for the trial lesson, and what conditions apply to it?+

The trial lesson is free, it is held with the tutor who would actually hold the weekly slot rather than a consultant, and it carries no obligation to book anything afterwards. The condition worth stating is what it is for: the tutor looks at your child's marked work during it and ends by naming which component the first block should attack and why. If that closing statement is vague, the honest conclusion is not to book the block. A trial that cannot produce a specific recommendation has told you something useful anyway.

Get the number, then decide what to buy with it

Send one marked Business Management script, your school's internal research-project deadline, and the hour of the week that would actually work. We will come back with which component the evidence points at, whether a specialist rate is justified for it, and whether a scoped block or a weekly slot is the cheaper way to buy it. The trial lesson that follows is free and is held with the tutor who would teach. Every lesson is one-to-one online over live video on Gulf Standard Time; we do not run home visits in the UAE. If we cannot staff what your child needs, you will be told that rather than sold something adjacent to it.
