IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tutors in Yawal

Private tuition at home for IB and IGCSE students in Yawal, taught live and one to one on video by a tutor who has handled your syllabus before. With no school in the taluka confirmed for either curriculum, and Jalgaon district offering none we could verify, the tutor supplies the structure a classroom would: clear explanations, marked practice and a weekly hour that survives the May heat, the banana and cotton cycles and the festival calendar.

  • Tutors are shortlisted for your exact paper, such as IB Economics SL or Cambridge IGCSE Biology, not for a broad label
  • Every session is live on video; in-person home tuition exists only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • The first lesson is free and uses a real topic from your child's syllabus
  • IB Gram has no tie to any school, exam board or university mentioned here

IB & IGCSE in Yawal

IB and IGCSE tutors in Yawal: one-to-one lessons at home, taught on video

IB and IGCSE tutors in Yawal teach on video, one student at a time: a student at home with a laptop, a tutor who has taught the exact paper elsewhere in India, and a whiteboard both can write on. It is private tuition at home without a tutor in the room. Since no school in the taluka is confirmed to run the IB or a Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, the tutor also explains what each exam expects, and the match is made first on subject code, level and session.

Yawal is a taluka headquarters and municipal council on the Khandesh plain, with 36,706 people in the town at the 2011 census and 272,242 in the taluka, which includes Faizpur as its second town. Bhusawal Junction is 18 km away, Jalgaon airport 45 km, and State Highway 4 runs towards Burhanpur across the Madhya Pradesh border. The Sur river and its tributaries water the fields, and the Satpura foothills to the north shelter Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 1969 and covering about 176 square kilometres of mostly teak forest.

The families for whom this page is written come from several backgrounds. Some grow or trade bananas and cotton, the crops Jalgaon district is known for. Some work on the railways around Bhusawal or in government posts across the taluka, where transfers are routine. Others are teachers and doctors, or have relatives in Pune, Mumbai or abroad. What they share is a wish for a syllabus that travels, without a long move for the child.

We are independent of the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge International, Pearson and every school or college mentioned on this page, which are named only to describe real options. Tutors coach, explain and mark practice work, but no tutor writes an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or piece of coursework for a student.

At a glance

  • Live one-to-one lessons for IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, and for Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE
  • No IB or IGCSE school is confirmed in Yawal or Jalgaon district, so tutoring fills the gap
  • A free first hour, a brief note after each lesson and a replacement tutor if the pairing is poor
  • A written rate before you book anything
  • No tutor visits Yawal homes; in-person tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Yawal school years

Yawal has no IB school, so the four programmes arrive through other doors: a family transferred from an IB school in another city, a relative's child studying in Pune, or a decision to enter a Diploma school in Class 11. Each entry notes what the course demands and where a tutor helps most.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

The first IB stage teaches through units of inquiry that cut across subjects, and students in the final year mount a group Exhibition on an issue they choose. Because nobody sits an external paper, tutoring works on comprehension, number fluency and the habit of explaining one's thinking.

Yawal has no PYP school; a child who has come from one keeps pace through regular sessions that protect English reading and questioning skills.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Students move through eight subject groups linked by key concepts, and teachers mark against criteria rather than a model answer. In Year 5 the Personal Project asks for a sustained piece of independent work supported by a process journal.

From a Marathi-medium or state-board background, the main adjustment is writing full sentences about why, and the criteria wording is often the first obstacle.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Two years, six subjects, and a core of Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay and CAS. Examinations fall mostly in May and results come in early July, so most of the Class 12 year is a run towards that window.

A Yawal student from a farming, trading or railway household can map the usual ambitions onto the Diploma: engineering onto HL Maths and Physics, medicine onto Biology and Chemistry, commerce onto Economics and Business.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

A narrower route: at least two Diploma subjects, a career-related study, and a core made of a reflective project, service learning, language development and personal and professional skills. Very few Indian schools offer it, and none is in Yawal.

Only a family who meets the CP elsewhere would need tutoring for it, and that would cover the Diploma-level subjects.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Good matching depends on precision. Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL and Applications and Interpretation SL need different people, and so do Economics HL and Business Management SL. Give us the subject, the level, your school's assessment deadlines and the target session, and the shortlist comes from tutors with recent experience of that exact course.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, calculus, trigonometry and proof; at HL the last paper presents open problems with no script, and the exploration should begin early enough for two redrafts.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Probability, statistics, financial and exponential models, all with technology in hand, plus an exploration using data the student collects from the world around.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Motion, waves, electricity, fields and atomic physics with a practical investigation; clean units, careful uncertainty and reasoned conclusions protect the marks.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Particles, bonding, energetics, rates and organic reactions; data-booklet fluency and tidy calculations matter as much as memory.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Molecules to ecosystems, tested by data questions as much as by recall; a well-controlled investigation with enough repeats beats a clever idea with thin evidence.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Market failure, macro policy, trade and development; banana and cotton price swings supply real cases for the commentary portfolio.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Theory tied to a case, and an internal task built on a real local enterprise such as a banana-packing unit, a ginning mill or a dairy.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Analysing unseen texts, comparing literary works and presenting an oral commentary; the marks go to clear, structured argument.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms and data structures, networks and databases, and a programmed product developed with a real user in mind.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Population, resources and hazards; the Tapi basin, the Satpura foothills and water use on banana farms are local features a student can study.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL (HL where offered)

Systems, biodiversity and human impact; the sanctuary's 176 square kilometres of teak forest give a ready reference for conservation questions.

IB History

HL / SL

Source skills, comparative essays and a historical investigation; the 1936 Congress session at Faizpur is a workable local topic if the question is sharp.

IB Marathi A: Literature

HL / SL

For students whose home language is Marathi, including Khandeshi-speaking homes: set works and comparative essays, with the tutor matched on language and confirmed once we read your brief.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

Text types, written tasks and speaking practice in Hindi as an additional language, rehearsed under timed conditions.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Questions about knowledge worked through real examples, then shaped into an exhibition and an essay of up to 1,600 words.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Most IGCSE candidates in Yawal are either preparing for an IGCSE school elsewhere or entering privately, so three choices come first: the exam board, the syllabus code and the tier. Cambridge examines mainly in May-June and October-November, Pearson Edexcel in January and May-June, and that calendar, together with the exam centre's entry dates, sets the rhythm of the tuition.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended is the tier that feeds IB Maths HL; carefully shown working and attention to command words earn more than speed.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Covers similar ground to Cambridge with a different paper style, so Higher-tier candidates should practise on this board's papers only.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 9-10

Brings calculus and advanced algebra forward a year, which eases the step up to Analysis and Approaches.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Forces, electricity, waves and the alternative-to-practical paper, all of which reward steady repetition.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Moles, bonding, the periodic table and organic families, with practical-style questions woven in early.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Diagrams, inheritance problems and structured long answers carry the higher grades.

IGCSE Environmental Management 0680

Grade 9-10

Resources, pollution and sustainability, with forest, river and farmland examples close to a student in the Tapi valley.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Case studies reward answers tied to the firm described, never a recited definition.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Pseudocode and trace tables on paper, Python on a machine, and past-paper questions to check both.

Edexcel IGCSE English Language A 4EA1

Grade 9-10

Reading, transactional writing and imaginative writing, good preparation for IB English A and for any subject that rewards clear written explanation.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Yawal school timetables

Yawal households tend to choose among three set-ups, and each is delivered online because tutors do not visit homes anywhere in Maharashtra. They differ in how frequently the student meets the tutor and what the hours are for.

One hour a week with the same tutor

A standing weekly slot on video, a shared whiteboard, homework marked against the right scheme and a brief report to parents. Since matching rests on syllabus, the person who starts HL Physics with your child in Class 11 can still be teaching in May of Class 12.

  • One tutor from the first lesson to the last paper
  • Homework returned with comments
  • A report for parents after each session
  • A slot that holds against school and tuition timetables

An international syllabus beside a state-board or CBSE school day

Suited to students who attend ordinary school by day and study IGCSE, IB or a transition course in the evening, whether for a private entry, a later IB course or a move to a school elsewhere.

  • The target syllabus drives every lesson
  • Extra practice with command words and extended writing
  • Groundwork for a later change of school
  • Planned around unit tests and annual school exams

A compressed run before mocks and finals

Two to four sessions a week for a limited number of weeks, built on timed papers, quick marking and targeted reteaching, scheduled around Akshaya Tritiya, Ganeshotsav and the Diwali break.

  • Papers sat under exam timing
  • Feedback back while it can still be used
  • Arranged several weeks before the exam series
  • Festival and heat gaps built into the plan

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Yawal

01

What are the IB and IGCSE options for a family in Yawal?

  • No IB or IGCSE school is confirmed in Yawal or Jalgaon district
  • Online tuition keeps every later option open
  • Indore is the nearest confirmed school offering IB and IGCSE
  • Boarding elsewhere is a family choice, not something tuition arranges

There is no school in Yawal that we could confirm for the IB or for Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, and nothing confirmed elsewhere in Jalgaon district either. Local schools follow the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE. A family that wants an international syllabus can study it privately online beside the present school, or look to Indore, Surat or Pune, where confirmed campuses exist.

Yawal itself is a substantial market town: 36,706 people in 2011, a taluka of 272,242, a fort and temples that give the old centre its character, and Bhusawal Junction only 18 km away. Higher education in the district gathers at Jalgaon, where Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University was founded in 1989. What the district lacks is an international school, which is why the question usually reaches us as a tutoring query.

Who asks? Families whose lives already stretch beyond the taluka. Banana and cotton growers and traders with customers far away; railway and government employees who expect transfers; teachers and doctors with relatives in Pune, Mumbai or abroad; and parents whose child began the IB in another city. They ask the same questions: can the course be taught properly from home, and will it keep doors open in India?

Four routes are open, compared in the table. A tutor beside the existing school is the lightest and leaves every other option available. Moving the child to Indore, Surat or Pune means boarding or relocation, which is better planned a year ahead than decided in an exam panic, and is a family decision that no tutor can make.

Maharashtra State Board and CBSE beside the IB and IGCSE: the differences a Yawal student will notice

  • Open questions need weeks of practice for a textbook-trained student
  • Multilingual homes are a strength if written English gets steady practice
  • Long-project planning has to be taught directly
  • Choose the level from a real paper, not from the label

The first difference is the job a question asks for. State-board and CBSE papers lean on recall of textbook material in predictable patterns, while IB and IGCSE papers start from unfamiliar data, give marks for reasoning even when the answer is wrong, and expect a full explanation. A Yawal student trained to reproduce the textbook will need a few weeks of timed practice before an open question feels normal.

The second is language. Many students here move between Marathi, Ahirani or Khandeshi at home, Hindi with friends and English at school. That is a strength, but IB and IGCSE papers reward precise English: command words, technical terms and paragraphs that argue a point. A tutor builds that gradually, with short written answers marked against the real scheme each week.

The third is how work is assessed. IB subjects add Internal Assessments worth roughly a fifth to a quarter or more of the grade, together with the Extended Essay, TOK and CAS. IGCSE weights written papers more heavily, with practical skills examined separately and coursework in a few subjects. A board-exam student usually has not planned a long piece of work before, so the skill must be taught.

Level completes the picture. IB HL and IGCSE Extended go beyond a typical state-board syllabus in Maths and the sciences, whereas SL and Core sit closer to it. The safest way to pick is to work a recent past paper with a tutor and see where the marks fall, not to assume the higher label is automatically right.

03

Why does IB or IGCSE tuition cost what it does in Yawal?

  • Programme, level, session pattern and tutor experience set the rate
  • You receive the figure in writing before booking
  • Where the student lives does not change it
  • Compare the hours that land on the paper, not just the hourly number
  • No grade is promised; written notes show progress

Because the price follows the match, there is no rate card. The factors are the programme and level, the length and number of sessions, the tutor's recent experience with your exact course, and how near the exam is. The figure arrives in writing before you book, and where the student lives, Yawal or Yokohama, does not change it.

Scarcity is the main driver. People currently teaching IB Physics HL or Edexcel Further Pure Mathematics at school level are harder to find than those covering MYP Science or IGCSE English, so those lessons cost more. A block of several sessions a week before the May series also uses more of a tutor's calendar than a relaxed Sunday hour.

A fair comparison looks at value, not only the hourly figure. Classroom-style classes in Jalgaon or Bhusawal cost less per hour but are built for board and entrance exams, and the round trip adds fares and time. A local private tutor may charge less still but may never have seen an IB mark scheme. What counts is how many hours actually land on your child's paper.

Before choosing a tutor, ours or anyone's, ask what a session covers, how homework is marked and returned, and how parents learn about progress. Here each session ends with a brief written note, and the first lesson is free. No grade is promised; results come from regular practice, patient correction and the student's own effort.

04

Online tuition or coaching in Jalgaon and Bhusawal, local tutors or self-study: which suits Yawal?

  • Jalgaon and Bhusawal batches target other examinations
  • Local tutors are best for state-board foundations
  • Self-study needs an expert marker to be dependable
  • Online tuition removes both the syllabus gap and the commute

Jalgaon is the district's main education market and Bhusawal, at 18 km, is the nearest railway hub. Classes there serve board exams, MHT-CET, JEE and NEET, and a student heading for those will find plenty of batches. For IB or IGCSE the picture is different: the syllabus, mark scheme and style of answer are all unlike those batches' targets, so even excellent teaching is aimed at another test.

Local private tutors in and around Yawal know the state-board syllabus well, and many are very good at helping a student recover in Class 9 or 10. Teaching another board's paper calls for recent experience with its command words, mark-scheme conventions and Internal Assessment criteria, which few tutors have had reason to acquire.

Self-study suits a disciplined student with good materials, since Cambridge and Edexcel past papers and IB subject guides are widely available. Its weakness is feedback. Without an experienced marker, the same error repeats for months and feels like effort. Self-study belongs between lessons, not in place of them.

Online one-to-one tuition matches a specialist to the exact paper, marks written work properly and removes the road, at the price of a laptop, a steady connection and a student willing to speak up on screen. For IB and IGCSE tutors in Yawal, this model is what makes specialist teaching possible at all in a district without an IB school.

05

How do the banana harvest, Akshaya Tritiya, the heat and the monsoon fit the IB and IGCSE calendar?

  • May heat and exams coincide, so slots move to early or late hours
  • Banana and cotton cycles can disrupt household routines
  • Monsoon weeks suit indoor drafting with a backup connection
  • IB May results arrive in early July; retakes are open in November

They decide when a student can really work. May is among the hottest months anywhere in Maharashtra on the Tapi plain, with afternoons well above 40 degrees, and it is also when school exams, the IB May session and Cambridge's May-June series arrive. Lessons are best placed early in the morning or after dark, in shorter blocks, with full timed papers saved for the cooler hours.

Akshaya Tritiya in April or May is widely observed across Khandesh, with family gatherings and travel, and it lands just before the main exams. Households that grow or trade bananas and cotton work to the crop's cycle rather than the school's, and a child's weekly slot may need to bend around loading days and picking weeks. The best approach is to fix the slot, then agree the exceptions early.

The monsoon runs from June to September, with district rainfall averaging roughly 77 to 80 centimetres, and low-lying villages along the Tapi and Sur can see blocked lanes and patchy power. Pola in the farming calendar and Ganeshotsav in late summer add their own interruptions, so drafts and mock papers are best finished indoors before these weeks.

Then come Navratri, Dussehra and the long Diwali break, followed by the cool, dry winter that suits heavy study. Exams sit over all of it: IB in May, with results in early July and November retakes; Cambridge in May-June and October-November; Edexcel in January and May-June. A student aiming at May should use November to February for the hardest teaching.

Routes to university from Yawal: MHT-CET, NEET, AIU, CUET-UG, JEE and studying abroad

  • Read the state CET Cell and counselling notices for other-board rules
  • AIU equivalence is the Indian recognition step for the IB Diploma
  • CUET-UG accepts students of every board
  • Tutors lift grades; counselling is a different service

Most students think first of Maharashtra: MHT-CET for engineering and pharmacy, NEET-UG for medicine, and institutions ranging from Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University at Jalgaon to COEP and Fergusson in Pune, ICT and VJTI in Mumbai or VNIT in Nagpur. Students from IB or IGCSE backgrounds should read each year's brochure from the state CET Cell and the medical counselling authority, because conditions for other-board candidates can differ.

At national level, equivalence for the IB Diploma and IGCSE-based qualifications comes from the Association of Indian Universities, CUET-UG admits students from any board to central universities, and JEE Main, JEE Advanced and NEET-UG publish their own subject and marks criteria each year. Those bulletins, not hearsay, are the source to trust.

Abroad, predicted grades do the early work. British universities make conditional offers in IB points or A Level grades with subject minimums; American colleges read the whole application, including essays and activities; Canada, Australia and Germany publish their own conversion tables. A strong, consistent record in Maths and the sciences travels well everywhere.

Tutors raise subject mastery and exam technique, which is what lifts predicted and final grades. They do not choose universities, write personal statements or run counselling, though they will say honestly how a student's profile compares with what a course usually asks.

07

IB Maths, the sciences and local project ideas a Yawal student can build on

  • AA for algebra and proof; AI for data and modelling
  • Take exploration topics from everyday life, small enough to finish
  • Choose science investigations a school bench can answer
  • Marked past papers beat extra summaries

Choosing between the Maths courses is mostly about the destination. Analysis and Approaches suits students who like algebra, calculus and proof and are aiming at engineering or the physical sciences, while Applications and Interpretation suits those who prefer data, modelling and statistics and are heading towards commerce, biology or the social sciences. Neither is easier, and both carry an exploration.

Good explorations start with curiosity about something nearby: banana prices over a season, the temperature curve of a May afternoon, or how rainfall affects a crop yield. A tutor can question the idea and explain the criteria, but the mathematics and the writing remain the student's own.

In Physics and Chemistry, small habits win marks: units in every line, repeat readings, a clear list of controlled variables and a conclusion that follows from the data. A student with limited lab access should plan early, choose a question a school bench can answer, and rehearse the method with the tutor before collecting any data.

Biology and ESS can draw on the sanctuary, the river and the farms, provided the method is sound and the sample is large enough. Geography fieldwork fits just as easily. Across the sciences, marked past papers and patient correction beat extra summaries, and the tutor's main task is to mark carefully and explain every lost mark.

08

IGCSE tiers, boards and entry routes for Yawal candidates

  • Extended tier keeps the route to IB HL Maths and sciences open
  • Practise only on one board's papers
  • Ask the exam centre about private entries before lessons begin
  • Spread subjects across series where that eases the load

Begin with the tier. Core papers limit the highest grade available, while Extended papers open the full range. A student who might take IB Maths HL or the IB sciences at HL later should choose Extended Mathematics and the Extended sciences, with Additional Mathematics if time permits. A student unsure of Maths can start on Core and revisit the choice after a first round of mocks.

Then choose a board. Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel are equally recognised but differ in wording, mark schemes and exam months, so a family should pick the one whose exam centre, dates and subject list work in practice, and keep every practice paper on that board. Mixing the two casually means rehearsing against the wrong style.

Most Yawal candidates would enter as private candidates. A recognised centre, probably in Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune or Mumbai, takes the entry and arranges any practical or speaking paper, but places and deadlines differ, so the first enquiry belongs with the centre, and only after that with a tutor.

The flexibility of IGCSE suits a district with no IGCSE school: a student can add subjects one series at a time and build a record without enrolling in a whole programme. It calls for planning, and a tutor who knows the board can suggest which papers to combine and when to start revising each one.

Where we tutor

Yawal and nearby places our online IB and IGCSE tutors reach

Lessons happen online, so a place matters for its surroundings: which colleges and schools a household knows, how long the road to Jalgaon or Bhusawal takes after school, and where heat or weak signals interfere with a fixed weekly slot. The notes below are practical and do not claim an IB or IGCSE school in any of these places.

Yawal town

The taluka headquarters on the Khandesh plain, with a historic fort and the Tarkeshwar Mandir; evening slots suit students with school and tuition in the daytime.

Faizpur

The taluka's second town, known in history for the 1936 Congress session; families here also look to Jalgaon and Bhusawal for colleges and coaching.

Sur river villages

Farming villages along the Sur and its tributaries, where monsoon water can block lanes and mobile data can be weak for a day or two.

Bhusawal

A railway junction 18 km from Yawal and the main gateway for trains; railway and government households here are the likeliest to move in or out mid-course.

Raver

The neighbouring banana-growing taluka; growers and traders here plan their week around the fruit cycle, which makes fixed online slots useful.

Chopda

A neighbouring tehsil towards the Satpura foothills, with small-town schooling and few tuition choices beyond board subjects.

Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary fringe

Villages near the forest on the Madhya Pradesh border, where connectivity can be patchy and a backup hotspot is sensible.

Jalgaon

The district headquarters, with its airport 45 km from Yawal and Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University; the main market for colleges and coaching in the region.

Burhanpur

The Madhya Pradesh town across the border on State Highway 4, a short trip for some Yawal households and a sign of how close the state line is.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Yawal

Yawal and Jalgaon district

Schools we could identify here follow the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE. Since no IB or IGCSE school was confirmed, none is named, and students take those courses through private study.

    Nearby: Indore

Indore lies north-east across the Satpura foothills and the Madhya Pradesh border. Choithram International School lists the IB programmes together with IGCSE, and it is the closest confirmed school of that kind to Yawal.

    • Choithram International School, Indore

    Nearby: Surat

Surat, on the western rail line, has a large business community with ties to Khandesh trading families and two IB schools on directory listings.

    • Fountainhead School, Surat
    • Aarth Universal School, Surat

    Nearby: Pune

Pune is the main Maharashtra destination for IB and IGCSE boarding or relocation, a long day's journey from Yawal.

    • Mahindra International School
    • Symbiosis International School

We name no IB or Cambridge/Edexcel IGCSE school in Yawal because none could be confirmed, and the same is true of Jalgaon district. The Indore, Surat and Pune schools below come from school directories and are labelled nearby options, so check current offerings with each school. IB Gram stands alone: none of the schools, boards or universities mentioned here, including the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel, has partnered with or endorsed it.

    Progress you can read

A brief written note follows each session, and a review takes place every few weeks.

    Change is easy

If the pairing is wrong, we suggest another tutor, and each rate is confirmed in writing beforehand.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Yawal: your questions answered

What are my options if Yawal has no IB or IGCSE school?+

The simplest is to keep your child in the present school and add an online tutor for the target syllabus. The other routes are sitting IGCSE as a private candidate through an exam centre, or moving to a school in Indore, Surat or Pune, where confirmed campuses exist. Most families begin with tutoring because it keeps every later option open.

Will anyone from IB Gram come to our home in Yawal?+

No. Home visits are available only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, so nobody visits Yawal. Your child instead takes online home tuition: a live lesson on a laptop from home, with the tutor on video and a whiteboard both can write on. It is private, one-to-one teaching, just not in person.

What information do you need before suggesting a tutor?+

The programme or board, the subject and level, your child's present standing, the exam session in view and the hours your household can protect. With those we search nationally, since Yawal has no pool of IB teachers, for someone who has taught that exact course lately, then propose one with a short reason and a free first lesson.

Is IGCSE possible from Yawal if my child stays in the present school?+

Usually yes, by entering as a private candidate. Pick Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel, fix the syllabus code and tier, then ask an exam centre, likely in Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune or Mumbai, whether it accepts private entries and by which date. The lessons run online and leave the school timetable alone. Ask early, because places and deadlines shift.

How is the tuition fee worked out?+

It reflects the programme and level, the length and number of sessions, and how recently the tutor has taught your exact course, and there is no published rate card. You receive the figure in writing before booking. The student's address plays no part, because nobody travels, and the free first lesson lets you judge the teaching before discussing money.

What does my child do in the free lesson?+

They work through a real topic from their own syllabus with the proposed tutor on video. The tutor asks questions to locate strengths and gaps and explains a concept or two. Afterwards you receive a plan for the first month and the rate in writing, and decide whether to continue, change the plan or meet someone else.

How far can a tutor help with an IA, the Extended Essay or TOK?+

A tutor can coach the process: unpack the criteria, help narrow a question, discuss how evidence might be gathered and comment candidly on drafts. Writing, rewriting or supplying any assessed content is ruled out, because it breaches IB academic-integrity rules and puts the qualification at risk. The submitted work has to be the student's own.

My child has studied in Marathi medium. How should we prepare for IB or IGCSE English?+

Start the written English early and keep it light but regular. A glossary of core terms, one short written explanation each week and marking against the real scheme build fluency steadily. Students who read Marathi well can also take Marathi A, and Hindi B is widely available, which banks a strong result while English catches up.

Which IB courses are we likely to find tutors for?+

Most of them: Maths AA and AI, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Economics, Business Management, Computer Science, Geography, ESS, History, English A, Hindi B and TOK. Marathi A is checked when we read your brief. Send the subject, HL or SL and the session, and we will tell you plainly whether a suitable specialist is free.

Is there anything for younger children, in PYP or MYP?+

Yes. For PYP, lessons build reading, writing and number sense alongside the inquiry habits behind the Exhibition, in short weekly sessions. For MYP, they cover criterion-based work in sciences, maths and language and literature, plus the Personal Project journal. Where no IB school is near, a tutor helps a transferred child keep the routines that school would have supplied.

How do we manage power cuts and weak signal in the taluka?+

Tell the tutor as soon as a lesson is affected and rejoin when you can; a mobile hotspot is a useful backup. A lost half hour can usually be recovered by moving another session within the week. Summer heat and monsoon days are the likeliest causes, so finish drafts and mock papers well before any deadline.

How far ahead of the exam should tutoring start?+

As early as the course allows: Class 11 for the Diploma, Grade 9 for IGCSE. A full two years lets written English, command words and the first assessment plan settle calmly. Six months still helps, with the tutor working on the topics worth most marks and on timed papers before the target series.

Can tuition run beside MHT-CET or NEET preparation?+

Many students manage both, with a realistic timetable. The subject content overlaps, but entrance papers and IB or IGCSE papers are written in different styles, so each needs its own practice. Our tutors cover the IB or IGCSE side, and entrance coaching is separate. Read each exam's latest eligibility rules for your board before committing.

Cambridge or Edexcel: how do we choose?+

Choose by practicalities, not reputation. Both are recognised worldwide. Look at which board's exam centre, dates and subject list suit your household, and at any school you may join later. Cambridge sits in May-June and October-November, Edexcel in January and May-June. Once you choose, keep every past paper and mark scheme from that board.

Will a Maharashtra college or university accept an IB or IGCSE record?+

Generally yes, after the right paperwork. The Association of Indian Universities issues equivalence for the IB Diploma and IGCSE-based qualifications, CUET-UG admits students from every board to central universities, and MHT-CET, JEE and NEET each set their own conditions. Start the equivalence paperwork early in Class 12 and check every institution's rules directly.

Will lessons fit around the banana season and festivals?+

Yes. Most families fix one weekday evening and one weekend slot, then agree with the tutor which loading weeks, Akshaya Tritiya, Pola, Ganeshotsav, Diwali or Eid days to skip or shift. Online delivery makes an extra session before a mock easy to add, and no one has to travel to catch up.

What if the tutor is not right for my child?+

Say so and we will suggest another. Progress is reviewed every few weeks, and a change of tutor is a normal part of how the service works. The free first lesson is there to expose a poor fit early, and the rate is agreed in writing at the start, so a change brings no surprises.

Does IB Gram have any link with the schools or boards mentioned here?+

No. IB Gram is independent, with no partnership, contract or endorsement from the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school, college or university named on this page, and it cannot speak for them. The names are there to show what exists near Yawal. Admission, exam entry and equivalence are decided by those bodies.
