IB & IGCSE in Udaipurwati

IB and IGCSE tutors in Udaipurwati, taught online to students at home

This page is about Udaipurwati in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, not the lake city of Udaipur, which is a different place hundreds of kilometres to the south. Our Udaipurwati sits against the northern Aravalli hills, historically part of Jhunjhunu district and drawn into Neem Ka Thana district when that was created in 2023, though district lines have been revised since and are worth confirming on current notifications. Lohargal, with its hill-and-kund pilgrimage, and the Shakambhari Mata temple at Sakrai are the best known sites in the surrounding belt.

Shekhawati has an unusual relationship with education. The region has sent soldiers into the army for generations, produced industrial families who built businesses across India, and lives with the shadow of Sikar's enormous coaching sector. Plenty of households here consider a child's future in international terms: an uncle in Dubai, a cousin at a university in Canada, or a business that now trades abroad. For some of those children an IB or IGCSE course is already in the picture, and the question becomes who can teach it.

Our answer is online. Tutors do not come to Udaipurwati and do not teach inside homes here; in-person lessons are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. A child studies at home on a laptop while a tutor from elsewhere in India teaches live, writing on a shared board, going through photographed notebook pages and sending a brief record after the class. Because the tutor can be anywhere, the question of who has taught this precise course decides the match.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. The International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel and every school named on this page are separate organisations, and none of them endorses us.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Udaipurwati school years

Few families in Shekhawati have seen an IB classroom, so each programme is described here in everyday words, along with the kind of support that is fair for a tutor to give.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Primary pupils explore themes such as how the world works through questions they help to frame, and conclude with a self-directed Exhibition in the final year.

In homes where Shekhawati or Hindi is spoken, early lessons favour picture talk, rhymes and simple conversation so that English grows naturally before writing begins.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Learners move across eight subject groups judged by published criteria, then finish with a long personal project of their own design.

Children from a Rajasthan Board or CBSE background are used to learning set answers, so tutors focus on explaining a method aloud and writing a conclusion in full sentences.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects are studied together with Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word essay and a service-and-creativity strand, concluding with May or November examinations.

Diploma students from Udaipurwati nearly always live in Jaipur, Delhi NCR or a boarding school, and lesson times follow the hostel's study hours.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

A student pairs two or more Diploma courses with a vocational pathway, a reflective project and a skills course.

Hardly any Indian schools run the CP and none we could verify is near Shekhawati, but its DP courses are tutored just like any other.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Naming a subject is not the same as naming a course. IB Mathematics AA HL, IB Physics SL and IGCSE Co-ordinated Sciences ask very different things of a student, which is why we match tutors to the course code. For Udaipurwati, these are the areas we cover.

IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Algebra and calculus with proof, rehearsed through timed papers that start comfortable and finish at exam difficulty.

IB Mathematics Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Probability, modelling and technology use, with calculator keystrokes practised until they stop costing time.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Motion, fields, waves and atomic physics, taught alongside the habit of stating assumptions and uncertainties.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Structure, energy changes, reaction rates and carbon chemistry, with calculations laid out so that errors are easy to spot.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Molecules through populations, with long-answer writing broken into claim, evidence and link.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Market and national-economy models, using agriculture, migration remittances and trade as local examples.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case-study tools applied to family trading firms, a theme close to many Shekhawati homes.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Reading unseen texts closely, building comparative essays and speaking about works with confidence.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Program design, data structures and short explanatory answers on systems.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Landmark studies, research design and essay shape for both exam papers.

IB Hindi

SL / HL

Language and literature support for students whose home language is Hindi or Shekhawati.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Semi-arid land use, water scarcity and urbanisation, plus fieldwork write-up skills.

IB History

HL / SL

Source reading and argument, with a focused question for the historical investigation.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

A sounding board for knowledge questions; every sentence of the essay belongs to the student.

Extended Essay (EE)

DP Core

Advice on a researchable topic and a workable plan, never on the text itself.

IB MYP Sciences & Mathematics

MYP 1-5

Investigation reports and reasoning to criteria, ahead of Diploma-level science.

No tutor comes to Udaipurwati homes, because face-to-face lessons are available only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Three online arrangements are open, depending on the stage of the school year.

Ongoing weekly classes

One tutor and one regular hour, tracking what the school is teaching that week.

  • Slow, steady gain in understanding
  • Parent welcome at the first class
  • Summary sent after each session
  • Moves aside for weddings and fairs

Compact exam preparation

A tight sequence of sessions before mocks, a school test or the May and November papers.

  • Driven by what the last mock exposed
  • Real past papers and mark schemes
  • Timed answers marked in detail
  • Wound down when the papers end

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Udaipurwati

01

Is there any IB or IGCSE school in or near Udaipurwati?

  • No confirmed IB or IGCSE school in Udaipurwati
  • Jaipur and Delhi NCR are the nearest confirmed options
  • Boarding or relocation is the usual route
  • Online tutors work before, during and after a move

Not that we could confirm. Udaipurwati and the neighbouring Shekhawati towns have private English-medium schools and a good number of government schools, nearly all following the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education or CBSE. We found no IB World School here and no Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel centre. Listing names we cannot support would only mislead parents.

The nearest confirmed options lie in Jaipur and in the Delhi region. Jaipur is about three hours away by road and has several campuses running the IB, IGCSE or both. Delhi NCR is farther but has many more, which is why families with relatives there often consider it. Some parents send a child to board; some move a mother or father; and some keep the child in a local school until Class 10 and switch later.

That makes tutoring useful at three moments. Before a move, a tutor can bring a child up to the pace and language of the new school. During the Diploma or IGCSE years, a specialist can strengthen the one subject the school struggles to teach. Close to the exams, a revision block can be built around the last mock.

If your child attends a school that is not named on this page, tell us the programme and subjects and we will match the tutor to the course rather than to a school.

02

Rajasthan Board, CBSE, IB or IGCSE: which makes sense in Shekhawati?

  • Different systems measure different skills
  • JEE and NEET plans usually favour CBSE with coaching
  • Study abroad plans favour IB or IGCSE
  • Most switches happen at Class 9 or Class 11

Shekhawati has strong ties to Rajasthan Board and CBSE schooling. Both assess mainly through a final paper and prepare students well for Indian entrance exams. The IB spreads its marks over two years of coursework, orals and examinations, and rewards explanation and reasoning. IGCSE examines a defined syllabus in tiers, with questions that apply what a student knows to a new situation.

Since Sikar's coaching sector is next door, many local families assume JEE or NEET is the only path. For some children it is the right one, and staying with CBSE and a coaching programme may be most direct. For a child who dreams of a UK, Canadian or Singaporean university, or of a liberal-arts or design course, the IB Diploma or IGCSE followed by A Levels may fit better.

Neither route is a trap. IGCSE students can move to the Diploma, and IB students can take CUET-UG or apply to private Indian universities directly. The table sets out the main differences parents ask about.

If your child is in Class 8 or 9 and nothing is decided, a free trial lesson in one core subject will show how an IB-style class feels.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition in Udaipurwati cost, and what moves the price?

No flat fee exists, because a Higher Level Chemistry tutor and a Core English tutor do very different work. We do not publish a price list. Once we have heard about your child, we send a rate in writing before you book, so it can be compared with a Sikar coaching fee or a local tutor.

Level comes first: IB HL sciences and Mathematics AA ask for tutors with years of specialist practice. Next is the tutor's record on the exact board, including any marking experience. Then comes frequency. A weekly lesson across a term adds up to less than three or four lessons a week in the run-up to exams.

Teaching online removes costs you might otherwise bear: the road to Sikar or Jaipur, a hostel place for a short course and the premium for scarce subjects in a small town. The pool is national, and a specialist in IB Computer Science or Additional Mathematics is as easy to reach as a generalist.

Many parents start with a single subject, assess after four to six lessons and then add another if the first has worked. The trial is free, and a tutor change is available at any point.

Online tuition, Sikar coaching, a local tutor or self-study: what works for an IB student in Udaipurwati?

Shekhawati families know coaching well. The centres in Sikar and Jhunjhunu are excellent at preparing students for JEE and NEET, but their timetables, notes and tests are built for those exams, not for IB internal assessments or IGCSE tiers. A local teacher giving private lessons may be superb at Rajasthan Board Physics and still never have worked with an IB mark scheme. Self-study using videos is cheap but leaves written work unmarked.

Online one-to-one lessons fill the gap. The tutor is picked for the course, teaches live and corrects what the student has actually written. A family that wants home tuition in Udaipurwati without leaving the district to find a specialist gets about as close as it can get to a tutor in the next room.

The limits are practical. Summer afternoons are hot and power cuts do happen, so a cool room and a charged laptop help. Villages on the Aravalli side may have weak signal, and we recommend confirming a stable connection before the first lesson.

The comparison below sets the four routes side by side on the points parents raise most.

05

How do cold waves, summer heat and Shekhawati festivals shape the study year?

  • Avoid afternoon study in May and June
  • Plan breaks around wedding dates in advance
  • Winter mornings are better kept for sleep than lessons

Shekhawati has a sharp climate. Winters, from December to February, bring cold waves with frost on some mornings, which makes pre-dawn study difficult and school start times shift. Summers, from April to June, are hot and dry, and the loo wind makes afternoons impractical for concentrated work. The monsoon, from July to September, is the greenest and often the most comfortable stretch for steady study.

Festivals and family events cut into the calendar. Holi and Gangaur in spring, Teej in the monsoon, Raksha Bandhan, Dussehra and Diwali, along with Lohargal's fair days and the many weddings of the season, regularly take a household away from routine. For families in the army or business, long leave periods also reshape the term.

Exam sessions add their own rhythm. IB candidates sit in May or November depending on school, and IGCSE candidates in May-June or October-November, with January also available for Pearson Edexcel. A boarder in Jaipur or Delhi follows the school's calendar, and tutors align with that.

A pattern that works well is to put heavy new content into July to October, use December's cold for indoor past-paper practice and keep April and May for timed papers in the cool early hours.

06

Where can an IB or IGCSE student from Udaipurwati study after school?

  • AIU treats the IB Diploma as equal to Class 12
  • CUET-UG and direct entry for many private universities
  • BITSAT, NEET and JEE depend on subject choice
  • Overseas universities read IB and IGCSE directly

The IB Diploma and IGCSE with A Levels are recognised by universities in the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and across Europe. Inside India, the Association of Indian Universities equates the Diploma with Class 12, and many private universities consider IB results directly or by CUET-UG score.

BITS Pilani, less than a hundred kilometres away, shapes the ambitions of many Shekhawati students. It admits through BITSAT and has its own rules for Class 12 equivalents, so an IB student should read the current eligibility note in Class 11. Other names that come up often are MNIT Jaipur, IIT Jodhpur, AIIMS Jodhpur, Banasthali Vidyapith and the private campuses around Jaipur.

Medicine needs Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in a combination NEET accepts, while engineering routes expect Mathematics and Physics at suitable levels. Students interested in business, which fits the region's trading tradition, can go to management and commerce programmes through IB Economics and Business Management.

Tutors help students aim for the grades these routes need. They cannot promise a seat or a score.

07

What makes IB Mathematics and the sciences difficult, and how does a tutor help?

The first decision in IB Mathematics is the course. Analysis and Approaches fits students who like algebra and calculus and plan engineering, physics or economics. Applications and Interpretation fits those who prefer data, modelling and technology, such as future business or psychology students. A trial lesson in each before Class 11 saves a lot of regret.

In the sciences, students from Rajasthan Board and CBSE schools are usually thorough on facts and derivations. The IB asks for something extra: reading command terms, handling unfamiliar data and writing structured explanations in limited space. A tutor trains these habits with short written tasks after each lesson.

Internal assessments need an investigation that the student can run with the equipment available, written in the student's own words. Tutors talk about design and logic and never write the report.

A typical lesson mixes new content with a timed question set. The tutor marks the set live or soon after, and a note lists what to redo before the next class.

08

IGCSE tiers and boards: what should an Udaipurwati family know before choosing?

Most IGCSE subjects offer two tiers. Core caps the grade at C, and Extended runs from A* to E. Students who may later take IB Mathematics AA or A Level sciences should normally aim for Extended.

Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel cover similar ground but use different codes, paper layouts and session dates. A tutor trained on one board will know its formula sheet and command words. Moving a student across boards midway needs a short handover.

Subject combinations matter. English, Mathematics and two or three sciences are the typical core, with Hindi as a dependable score for native speakers. Economics and Computer Science are useful lead-ins to IB options. Combined Science gives broader but shallower coverage and can limit later Physics or Chemistry HL.

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Udaipurwati

Inside Udaipurwati: limited local choice

We could not verify an IB school or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE centre in Udaipurwati. Schools around Shekhawati follow the Rajasthan Board or CBSE, so an international programme implies a move or a hostel elsewhere.

    Nearby: Jaipur

Around three hours by road, Jaipur is the closest big city with confirmed IB and IGCSE schools, and the usual destination when Shekhawati families explore boarding.

    • Sanskar School, Sirsi Road
    • Jayshree Periwal International School
    • Mayoor School Jaipur

    Nearby: Delhi NCR

About five hours away, the National Capital Region has a large cluster of international-curriculum schools, and a number of Shekhawati families have relatives or businesses there.

    • Pathways World School, Aravali
    • The British School, New Delhi

The schools shown below are in other cities and are included only so you can see what exists within reach of Udaipurwati. IB Gram is independent, has no tie with any school and cannot speak for admissions. Verify each school's current authorisation with the IB or Cambridge, and with the school itself, before you apply.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Udaipurwati: your questions answered

Is it possible to get an IB or IGCSE tutor in Udaipurwati?+

Yes, through live online lessons. IB Gram tutors are based across India and teach by video, one student at a time. Nobody visits Udaipurwati in person, since home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. We pair your child with a tutor who has taught the same syllabus, and a free first lesson shows whether the style works.

Can we have home tuition in Udaipurwati?+

You can have private, one-to-one tuition at home, delivered over video. You cannot have a tutor knock on the door, because that service is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Parents are often pleasantly surprised: the tutor sees the child's notebook through the camera and corrects mistakes as they happen.

Is Udaipurwati home to any IB school?+

We could not find one. Schools here and across Shekhawati follow the Rajasthan Board or CBSE. The nearest confirmed IB and IGCSE campuses are in Jaipur and the Delhi region. Please check the current status of any school on the IB or Cambridge website. A student enrolled in one of those schools can use our tutoring from Udaipurwati.

What will IB or IGCSE tuition cost for us?+

That depends on subject, level, the tutor's experience and how many sessions a week you want. No price list is published. After we have talked about your child's needs we send a rate in writing before booking. Higher Level sciences cost more than MYP, and two children sharing one lesson pay less each.

Which subjects are Shekhawati students struggling with most?+

Mathematics and Physics lead, then Chemistry, Economics and Business Management. English writing is another recurring need. Children schooled in Rajasthan Board or CBSE classrooms generally know their content but have little practice organising long explanations, so tutors spend much of their time on structure and command terms.

Our child is in a Hindi-medium school. Can they move to IB later?+

They can, with preparation. Reading and writing in English, subject vocabulary and Mathematics worded in English are the usual weak points. Start four to six months ahead if possible. A tutor can build a plan that fits the new school's expectations, and the school will tell you whether it uses an entry test.

Does the tutor write the Internal Assessment or Extended Essay?+

No. The IB insists that these are the candidate's own work, so tutors act as coaches. They can help pick a researchable question, decode the criteria and test the logic of an argument. All writing, calculation and data collection are the student's. That rule protects the student and also builds the skills the final papers reward.

What internet connection do lessons need?+

A steady line, not a fast one. Fixed broadband is best, and a mobile hotspot is a useful reserve. Villages along the Aravalli side sometimes have weak signal, and summer storms can interrupt power, so check both before you start. If a lesson drops, tell the tutor and we rebook it the same week.

At what times do tutors teach?+

Weekday evenings and weekends are the most popular. In May and June, early morning is far more comfortable than the afternoon. Tutors work in IST, so no time conversion is needed. For hostel students we follow the school's study hours, and around weddings or festivals we agree the plan ahead of time.

How do Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE differ?+

They teach similar content with different packaging. Mathematics is 0580 at Cambridge and 4MA1 at Edexcel, command words and paper layouts differ, and only Edexcel runs a January series. Tell us which board is printed on your child's syllabus, and we will find a tutor who has worked with that board's papers.

Is a short revision course before the IB exams worthwhile?+

It can be, if the weak topics are clear from recent mock results. A block runs for six to eight weeks with several lessons weekly, using real past papers and timed writing. It works best on top of earlier steady study, because a few weeks cannot replace two years of understanding.

My daughter is in the PYP years. Is online tuition suitable?+

It can be, when sessions are short and playful. For children of this age we use about half an hour of reading aloud, number games and conversation, with a parent close by. The aim is relaxed English and number sense, so that school units of inquiry feel familiar, not to complete her homework.

What does the free trial involve?+

A normal lesson with the proposed tutor. They try some questions to see where your child stands, teach one topic and answer queries. You then receive a short note with suggestions. There is no obligation, and if the tutor is not a good fit, we offer a different one before any payment is requested.

Will the tutor use Hindi to explain?+

Often, where it helps. Many tutors will switch briefly to Hindi to unlock a stubborn idea, although the exams are in English and teaching moves back to English terms promptly. Let us know your child's comfort with both languages and we will favour a tutor who can do either.
