IB & IGCSE in Tuljapur

IB and IGCSE tuition for a family in Tuljapur, a long way from the nearest IB classroom

Tuljapur is known across Maharashtra, and well beyond it, for the Tulja Bhavani temple, the kuldevi of countless households and, by long tradition, of the Bhosale clan to which Chhatrapati Shivaji belonged. It is a municipal town in Dharashiv district, still printed as Osmanabad on many maps and old documents, 25 km from the district headquarters, 45 km from Solapur and 71 km from Latur. Schooling here has always meant the state board, with CBSE in a minority of private schools, and for most families that is exactly the right choice.

So why would a Tuljapur parent look for IB or IGCSE tutors at all? Because the circumstances arrive from outside the town. A lecturer or doctor posted to the taluka has a child midway through a Cambridge course. A family connected with the TISS School of Rural Development or one of the colleges wonders whether the IB Diploma would suit a daughter who loves chemistry. A child boarding in Pune or Hyderabad comes home for Diwali and needs the syllabus kept moving. A household working in the Gulf or the UK keeps a house here for the kuldevi and returns for long stretches.

What a family will not find at present is a school in town running the IB programmes or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE course. We looked rather than assumed, found none we could confirm, and so this page names none. The nearest confirmed options are residential and day schools in Pune, Hyderabad and Mumbai, listed further down with the distance in mind.

IB and IGCSE tutors in Tuljapur therefore work differently from tutors in a metro. The lesson is live and one-to-one on a video call, the tutor is chosen for the syllabus rather than the postcode, and the family table at home is the classroom. Nobody travels. IB Gram arranges visits to a student's home only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR; in Tuljapur it is online home tuition, and it is still proper one-to-one teaching.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service with no tie-up to the Tulja Bhavani temple trust, TISS, any college or school in Dharashiv district, the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge or Pearson. A tutor explains, sets practice and marks it. Internal Assessments, Extended Essays and Theory of Knowledge work remain the student's own writing.

At a glance

  • Live online lessons, so the distance to Solapur, Latur and Pune stops mattering
  • IB support from PYP through the Diploma, and IGCSE by exact Cambridge or Edexcel code
  • A different plan for boarders, visiting families and local parents still deciding
  • A written note after each session and a free trial lesson first
  • No home visits in Tuljapur; those run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Tuljapur school years

None of the four IB programmes is taught in a Tuljapur classroom today, so each stage reaches us in a different disguise: a returnee, a boarder, a curious parent or a student working through a course alone. Here is how each one tends to look from this part of Marathwada.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

The Primary Years Programme teaches through units of inquiry instead of separate textbooks and ends with a student-run Exhibition. Nothing is externally marked, so tutoring is about reading fluency, number sense and coaxing a ten-year-old to ask a better question than the one on the worksheet.

A Tuljapur family meets PYP mostly through a child who began it abroad or in a metro school and needs the thread kept intact during a long stay at home.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Middle Years work is judged against published criteria in every subject, and students finish with a Personal Project of their own design. The shift that surprises most children is moving from describing a topic to defending a view about it.

For a child raised on the state board, learning to leave the textbook answer behind is the main task, and it usually takes the first month of lessons.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard, sit alongside Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word Extended Essay and a service strand. Internal assessments carry roughly a fifth to nearly a third of most subject grades, so the Diploma is earned across two steady years rather than in a final term.

With no Diploma classroom in the taluka, the realistic routes are a Pune boarding school, a day school in a metro, or independent study supported online.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

The Career-related Programme pairs at least two Diploma courses with a career study, language development and a reflective project. Few Indian schools run it, but the Diploma courses inside it are taught and examined exactly as they are in the full Diploma.

CP enquiries from Tuljapur are rare; when one arrives it is usually a request for help with the one or two Diploma subjects inside the pathway.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Subject-level help is where a Tuljapur family gets the most from online tuition, because a specialist in IB Chemistry HL or Economics is simply not around the corner. Name the subject, the level and the exam session, and the match begins from those three facts.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Built for students heading to engineering or pure science, with proof, functions as transformations and a long problem-solving Paper 3 at Higher Level that rewards patience.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Modelling with real data, statistics and the graphic calculator, a natural fit for future economists, psychologists and designers, and not the easy option it is sometimes assumed to be.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics and electricity feel familiar to a state-board student; planning an investigation, handling uncertainty and writing a conclusion that follows from the data do not.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

The Structure and Reactivity framework rewards students who ask what the electrons are doing; organic chemistry and equilibrium are the usual stumbling points at Higher Level.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Marks go to the answer that matches the command term in the question, so sessions drill the difference between outline, explain and evaluate alongside the content.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Case studies with real places and dates earn the marks, and a student who has lived through a Marathwada drought has first-hand material to work with.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagrams drawn correctly and labelled completely win the quick marks; the work after that is building a short chain of evaluation rather than listing facts.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

A temple town's lodge, sweet-shop and transport businesses make good live examples for the case-study papers, where answers must engage with the scenario in front of the student.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Written commentary and the comparative essay improve through repetition, and the Individual Oral is usually the component a student rehearses least.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

A common additional-language choice in Maharashtra, with sessions on the oral component and the text types the paper actually sets.

IB Marathi A Literature

SL / HL

Usually a school-supported or self-taught option for a student whose home language is Marathi; tutoring concentrates on literary analysis written in clear, structured prose.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Theory sticks only when paired with real coding, and the internal assessment needs a working program whose documentation matches what it does.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Accurate study details and a clear argument across the biological, cognitive and sociocultural approaches matter more than the sheer volume of studies remembered.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Named places, figures and dates lift a case-study answer, and the fieldwork write-up must describe a method that would survive questioning.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Run as conversation, not lecture: testing exhibition commentaries and arguing a prescribed title from the side the student did not expect to take.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

With no IGCSE centre confirmed in the taluka, Tuljapur students reach these subjects as boarders elsewhere, as private candidates, or as returnees continuing a course begun abroad. Every match starts from the code and tier actually being sat, because Cambridge and Edexcel word their questions differently even where the content overlaps.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580 / 4MA1

Core / Extended, Foundation / Higher

Showing method earns marks even when the final number slips, so sessions build the habit of writing every step, with a calculator-free section practised separately.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Brings calculus and vectors forward by a year, a real head start for a student who may later take Diploma Maths at Higher Level.

IGCSE Physics 0625 / 4PH1

Core / Extended

Rearranging formulae under time pressure is the usual weak spot, and the alternative-to-practical paper gets its own dedicated rehearsal.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620 / 4CH1

Core / Extended

Mole calculations and organic chemistry are built up alongside the practical-skills paper, not left to the last month.

IGCSE Biology 0610 / 4BI1

Core / Extended

Genetics and the longer written answers carry more weight than students expect, and both need deliberate timed practice.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Quick, accurate diagrams secure the early marks; the longer evaluative questions are where the grade is decided.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Answers must lean on the exact business in the case, so practice uses past-paper scenarios rather than memorised definitions.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Writing small Python programs makes tracing algorithms on paper far easier, and pseudocode conventions are checked against the syllabus.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Timed work on unseen passages and direct instruction in summary writing move the mark more than a wider vocabulary does.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language

Grade 9-10

A sensible choice for a Marathi or Hindi speaker, with practice on directed writing and the oral component.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Tuljapur school timetables

Most Tuljapur families begin with one weekly lesson and adjust from there. The three patterns below cover almost every arrangement we set up in the town, and all of them run on live video, with one tutor and one student on Indian time. A tutor never arrives at the door.

Weekly lesson at the family table

One fixed evening slot every week, tutor and student on screen together, built around the school timetable and the household's evening routine.

  • The tutor is picked for the course, not the postcode
  • Suits an IB Diploma subject or an IGCSE code equally well
  • Past-paper questions are marked together as the term moves on
  • The same tutor continues, so the student never re-explains the course

Holiday blocks for boarders and visitors

Short, dense runs of lessons while a child is home for Diwali, the summer break or a family stay, and a lighter schedule once school resumes.

  • Ten days of daily sessions can cover a whole unit
  • The tutor reads the school's notes first so nothing is repeated
  • A written note follows every session
  • Dates sit around Navratri and family events

Exam-run revision before May or November

A tighter calendar of timed papers and prompt feedback in the weeks before an IB or IGCSE session, once the content has been covered.

  • Papers are marked against the current mark scheme
  • Weak topics are logged and revisited, not just flagged
  • Evenings and weekends rather than school hours
  • Works better when it starts two months before the paper, not two weeks

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Tuljapur

01

Who in Tuljapur asks about IB and IGCSE, and what can they find locally?

  • No IB or IGCSE school is confirmed in Tuljapur taluka, so none is named here
  • Boarders, visiting families and local explorers each get a different plan
  • Tutors teach from anywhere in India while the student stays at home
  • Any school's board status should be checked on the IB, Cambridge or Pearson site

A small but steady group asks: families tied to the colleges and the TISS campus, parents whose child boards in Pune or Hyderabad, and Maharashtrian households abroad who return to the Tulja Bhavani temple for family rites. None of them can find a confirmed IB or IGCSE classroom in Tuljapur itself, which is why IB and IGCSE tutors in Tuljapur teach online and why this page is built around that fact.

Schools in the town and the surrounding villages follow the Maharashtra State Board in nearly every case, taught in Marathi or semi-English, with CBSE in a smaller number of private schools. We found no school in Tuljapur taluka that we could confirm as an IB World School or a Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel centre, and a school that merely has 'international' in its name does not count as one. If a school does open such a course, a family can verify it directly on the IB, Cambridge or Pearson websites.

Look at the households and the pattern is easy to read. Staff at the colleges, the engineering institute and the TISS School of Rural Development often come from other cities, and some arrive with children already enrolled in an international board. Boarders home for Diwali want focused catch-up. Families abroad want a course to continue unbroken through a stay of several months. Local parents want a conversation before committing to anything.

Each of these needs something slightly different from a tutor, which is why the first thing we ask is not a subject name alone. We ask what the child is studying now, where, until when, and what the next exam or change of school will be. A tutor from Pune, Chennai or Delhi then teaches a Tuljapur student exactly as they would a student in their own city.

02

State Board, CBSE, IGCSE and IB side by side for a Tuljapur student

  • State Board and CBSE reward recall of a fixed text; IGCSE and IB reward application
  • IGCSE is a Class 10 level qualification; the Diploma is a Class 11-12 one
  • An IB Diploma needs AIU equivalence before Indian admissions
  • Staying on the state board is often the sound decision, and we say so

Most children in Tuljapur study from Balbharati textbooks, sit the SSC board paper in Class 10 and the HSC paper in Class 12, and then turn to MHT-CET, JEE Main or NEET for professional courses. The system rewards accurate recall of a set text, and for the many students who want a seat in a Maharashtra college it does that job well.

IGCSE changes the shape of the question more than the amount of content. A Cambridge or Edexcel paper at the upper tier will hide a familiar idea inside a situation the student has not met, and marks go to method as well as the final number. A child raised on textbook exercises usually feels that gap within the first month.

The IB Diploma pushes further. Every subject has coursework inside it, there is an Extended Essay of up to 4,000 words, a Theory of Knowledge component, and Higher Level papers that expect reasoning on the page instead of reproduction. It rewards a child who likes asking why, and it is a poor fit for one being steered into it for the name on the certificate.

CBSE sits between the two: NCERT-based, uniform across the country, and accepted by every Indian entrance test without extra paperwork. For many Tuljapur families the state board or CBSE remains the sensible choice, and part of an honest tuition conversation is saying so. We would rather lose an enquiry than put a child on the wrong curriculum.

03

What decides the cost of IB or IGCSE tuition for a family in Tuljapur?

  • The scarcity of the exact course sets the rate, not how hard the subject looks
  • A tutor current with the guides from 2025 onwards is worth more per hour than one on an older edition
  • Weekly, holiday-block and exam-run patterns are each priced for what they are
  • Rates are written down before booking, and the trial lesson is free

Four things set the rate: how few tutors teach that exact course, the level and tier, how long and how often the sessions run, and how close the exam is. Distance is not one of them, because every lesson is online. IB Gram publishes no prices; a rate for your child's specific match is quoted in writing before you book anything.

Scarcity does most of the work. A tutor who taught IB Physics HL last year is a rarer professional than one who teaches Class 10 science, and the fee follows that supply. An IGCSE Core English tutor comes from a far larger pool than a Diploma Chemistry HL tutor, so the two are never priced alike, whatever the weight of the textbook.

Recency is the second driver. Syllabuses change: the IB sciences were rewritten for first assessment in 2025, and Cambridge and Edexcel revise their specifications on their own cycles. A tutor who has taught or marked the current version spots lost marks that someone working from memory of an older guide never sees, and an hour with the first tutor simply goes further.

Pattern of use is the third. A weekly lesson through the year, a ten-day block while a boarder is home for Diwali, and a concentrated run before the May session each cost something different, and Tuljapur families usually mix them. We ask what you want to achieve over the next three months and suggest a rhythm, rather than selling hours.

Do not benchmark against what a neighbour pays for Class 10 coaching or a CET batch. Those are group products priced for volume. A one-to-one specialist lesson is another product altogether, and a fairer comparison is the cost of a seat at a Pune boarding school or a year in a metro, set against a few hours a week at home.

04

Online home tuition, Latur-style coaching, a local tutor or self-study for an IB or IGCSE student in Tuljapur

  • Coaching serves the entrance-test demand that fills Marathwada classrooms
  • Few local tutors have taught a current IB or IGCSE course
  • Self-study leaves coursework and written answers without feedback
  • An online specialist answers a supply gap, not a matter of taste

Coaching in the Marathwada tradition, the integrated Class 11-12 science model for which Latur is known, is built for MHT-CET, JEE Main and NEET and does that well. It has no batch for IB Chemistry HL or IGCSE Extended Mathematics, for the plain reason that too few children in one town need either, and a batch needs numbers.

Private tutors in and around Tuljapur are strong on state-board Mathematics and Science, and a few know CBSE well. The useful question to put to any of them is whether they have taught a Cambridge 0580 or Edexcel 4MA1 paper, or an IB Analysis and Approaches class, in the last two years. Most will answer honestly, and the honest answer is usually no.

Self-study is workable for a disciplined student: past papers and mark schemes are freely available and plenty of content is on video. It falters in two places, the Internal Assessment, where nobody has read the draft against the criteria, and the long written answers, where a student cannot tell why a mark was lost. Both need a second set of experienced eyes.

An online tutor from the national pool closes that gap, and it is the idea behind IB and IGCSE tutors in Tuljapur being matched across India instead of across town. The lesson takes place at the student's own desk, the tutor watches the working on a shared whiteboard, and practice papers are marked against the live criteria. The trade-off is dependence on a steady connection, which the trial lesson tests, and it is a smaller problem than not having the specialist at all.

How do the Navratri fair, Diwali and Marathwada's summers shape a study year in Tuljapur?

  • The Navratri fair is the one date that reorders the whole town
  • State-board weeks in February and March are when international sessions ease back
  • IB sits in May and November, and results follow in July and January
  • Lessons follow the student, so heat and rain do not cancel them

The Navratri fair in September or October is the one fixed date that rearranges the whole town, Diwali follows within weeks, and the dry heat from April squeezes afternoon study. A workable tutoring plan treats these as fixed points and moves lessons around them, instead of hoping a weekly slot will survive them untouched.

Around Dasara and Kojagiri Poornima pilgrims arrive in very large numbers, many of them on foot, and the streets near the temple fill up. Families who run lodges, flower and prasad stalls or transport are working from before dawn until late, and a child in such a household may have no quiet hour in the evening. For that week we move lessons to late night or the weekend, or pause for a couple of days, and the tutor is told in advance.

The school year follows the Maharashtra calendar. Schools reopen in mid-June after the summer vacation, first-term papers fall in the autumn, Diwali brings a break of a week or more, and SSC and HSC theory papers arrive in February and March. Students keeping an IGCSE or IB course alongside the state board usually ease off the international sessions during those board weeks and resume afterwards.

International exams keep their own clock. IB examinations are held in May and November, with results on 5 July and 5 January. Cambridge IGCSE has June and November series with results in August and January, and Cambridge also runs a February-March series for India. Pearson Edexcel publishes its own timetable, with the main sitting in May and June. Which dates apply depends entirely on the school or centre a student is registered with.

Weather matters less than it once did, because a lesson reaches the student wherever the student is. What does matter is that Marathwada sits in the rain shadow of the Western Ghats: rainfall is lighter and less dependable than on the Konkan coast, April and May are hot and dry, and a poor monsoon puts pressure on household budgets. We keep that in mind, which is why the trial lesson is free and the rate is written down before anything is booked.

Where do IB and IGCSE students from Tuljapur go for university?

  • Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad are the three cities that pull Tuljapur students most
  • AIU equivalence for the Diploma is worth requesting well before Class 12 ends
  • Entrance-test eligibility changes yearly, so read the current bulletin
  • Tutors build subject strength; they do not run applications

Most look at three destinations: a Maharashtra college, a central university through CUET-UG, or a degree overseas, and IB or IGCSE can keep all three open if the paperwork is handled early. The Diploma needs an AIU equivalence certificate for Indian admissions, while IGCSE is a Class 10 level qualification, so the years that count are Class 11 and 12, or A Level.

For a Tuljapur student the regional pull runs towards Pune, with Savitribai Phule Pune University, COEP Technological University, Symbiosis and MIT World Peace University; towards Mumbai, with IIT Bombay and the colleges of the University of Mumbai; and towards Hyderabad, with the University of Hyderabad and IIIT Hyderabad. Solapur and Dharashiv offer closer college and hospital options, and the colleges in Tuljapur serve students who would rather stay at home.

Indian entrance tests carry their own conditions. NEET-UG asks for Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English at Class 12 level, JEE Main and Advanced ask for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and CUET-UG lets a candidate choose domain subjects that match the course. An IB student's subject combination and equivalence certificate are checked against these every year, and the NTA bulletin, not a tutor, has the final word.

For British universities the predicted IB points or A Level grades carry the application, and offers quote a points total with named Higher Level subjects. An American application reads grades as one part of a larger file. Canada, Singapore, Australia and Germany each keep their own timetable. IB Gram tutors do not run admissions counselling; they strengthen the subjects that make a prediction believable.

IB Maths and the three sciences for a student coming from a Maharashtra board background

  • Analysis and Approaches rewards proof and reasoning; Applications and Interpretation rewards data fluency
  • The Mathematical Exploration is worth a fifth of the grade and needs an early topic
  • Physics and Chemistry both turn on planning a defensible investigation
  • Biology marks follow the command term, so exam technique matters as much as content

A student from the Maharashtra board arrives with a strong algebra and calculus toolkit and little practice at justifying a result. Analysis and Approaches builds on that toolkit and adds proof, functions as transformations and, at Higher Level, a Paper 3 that sets one extended problem-solving task. The Mathematical Exploration, an independent piece of writing worth a fifth of the grade, is usually the first thing a state-board student has never done.

Applications and Interpretation leans the other way: modelling with real data, statistics and the graphic display calculator, which suits students heading for economics, business, psychology or design. It is often mistaken for the easier Maths. At Higher Level it is not, and a student who picks it for that reason is surprised by the volume of technology work.

The revised Physics guide, first assessed in 2025, organises the course under themes such as Space, time and motion and Nuclear and quantum physics. A state-board student knows mechanics and electricity well enough; what is new is planning an investigation, handling uncertainty and writing a conclusion that actually follows from the data.

Chemistry is built around Structure and Reactivity, and the students who do well stop learning reactions as a list and start asking what is happening to the electrons. Organic chemistry and equilibrium are where Higher Level students are most often caught out, and the internal assessment needs an investigation that can really be done in a school laboratory.

Biology rewards the student who answers the command term in the question, since outline and evaluate ask for different things, rather than everything they know about the topic. Environmental Systems and Societies, a popular third science at Standard Level, asks for case studies with real places and dates, and a Marathwada student has first-hand knowledge of drought, groundwater and farming to draw on.

08

Choosing between Core and Extended, and picking IGCSE subjects, for a Tuljapur student

  • Core and Extended cap different final grades, not only different difficulty
  • Extended Mathematics plus Additional Mathematics is the strongest runway to IB Maths HL
  • First Language and Second Language English are different papers, so choose deliberately
  • Check Class 11 eligibility with the college before IGCSE results arrive

Cambridge's two tiers cap different grades outright: Core papers lead to grades C to G, Extended papers to A* to E. Edexcel's International GCSE uses Foundation and Higher tiers, with Higher covering the top grades. Choosing the lower tier for a capable student is the most expensive quiet mistake in IGCSE, because the ceiling is set in Grade 9 and cannot be lifted in the exam hall.

A student who might later take IB Analysis and Approaches HL, sit JEE or study a science degree should take Extended Mathematics 0580, or Edexcel 4MA1 at the Higher tier, and, if the timetable allows, Additional Mathematics 0606 as well, which brings calculus and vectors in early. The same logic applies to Physics, Chemistry and Biology: the Extended route makes a later jump to Higher Level far gentler.

A typical IGCSE student takes six to eight subjects: English, Mathematics, either three separate sciences or a combined science, a humanities or business subject, and perhaps Computer Science or a language. Hindi is available as a second-language option with Cambridge, and a student whose home language is Marathi should plan English carefully, since the choice between First Language and Second Language English changes the paper entirely.

What happens afterwards matters too. A student returning to a Maharashtra Class 11 after IGCSE should expect a bridging stretch in Marathi or Hindi and in the state board's textbook style of answering, and should confirm eligibility paperwork with the college before the results arrive. A student continuing to A Level or the Diploma usually needs the Extended tier and a strong English grade.

Where Tuljapur students and families study from

Every lesson is online, so the places below are context rather than logistics: which part of the taluka a family lives in, what the surroundings look like, and how that tends to affect the hour a student can protect for study.

Tulja Bhavani temple area

The old lanes around the temple are home to families who run lodges, prasad shops and puja services; the quiet window for lessons is late evening, and Navratri week is the exception.

Bus stand and market

The busiest part of town, with MSRTC services to Solapur, Dharashiv, Latur and Pune, and shop-owning families whose children study after the shutters come down.

Solapur road

The route most households take for the railway, hospitals and bigger shops in Solapur, 45 km away; newer houses sit along this side.

Dharashiv road

Leads to the district headquarters 25 km away, where the collectorate, courts and the nearer railway station are.

College belt

Around the town's colleges, including Shree Tuljabhavani College of Engineering, Y. C. College and Kulswamini College, rented rooms and staff households give the area a younger, study-minded feel.

TISS campus area

The off-campus School of Rural Development of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences brings faculty and researchers from other cities, some with school-age children.

Naldurg

The second municipal town in the taluka, known for its fort; students here often travel to Tuljapur or Solapur for classes, which makes a home-based online lesson a real saving.

Andur and Kilaj

Villages in Tuljapur taluka whose students rely on buses and shared transport, so evening lessons are preferable to anything that needs a long return journey.

Jalkot and Apsinga

Farming villages of the taluka, where school timetables bend around sowing and harvest, and a flexible online slot is easier to keep than a fixed batch.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Tuljapur

Tuljapur and Dharashiv district

We could not confirm an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school in Tuljapur taluka or the wider district, so this list is left empty on purpose rather than padded with guesses.

Check a school's current board status with the board itself before relying on it.

      Receive a short, reasoned shortlist

We suggest tutors who have taught that exact course, with a line on why each name was chosen.

Session length, frequency and the rate are written down before anything is booked.

    5. 05

A weekly slot, a short written note after each session, and a change of tutor if the fit is wrong.

    Why families choose us

What Tuljapur parents tell us matters most

    Honest about what Tuljapur has

No IB or IGCSE school is confirmed in the taluka, and we say so instead of implying otherwise.

Matched on the course, not the label

We start from the IB subject guide or the IGCSE code and tier, never from a vague promise of international tuition.

    Plans for boarders and returnees

A child home from Pune for Diwali and a family back from abroad for a term need different arrangements, and get them.

Free trial, then a written rate

The student meets the tutor first, and a rate follows only if you decide to continue.

    Coaching, never ghost-writing

Tutors guide structure, method and revision; IAs, essays and coursework stay the student's own work.

    Easy to change course

If the tutor is not the right fit, we arrange a different one.

    Student and parent reviews

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Tuljapur: your questions answered

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Tuljapur?+

We could not confirm any school in Tuljapur or the wider taluka that teaches the IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE, so this page names none. Schools here follow the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE. The nearest confirmed international options are residential and day schools in Pune, Hyderabad and Mumbai, which is why most families add an IB or IGCSE course through online tuition with IB and IGCSE tutors in Tuljapur and across India.

Will an IB or IGCSE tutor come to our house in Tuljapur?+

No. Tutors do not visit homes in Tuljapur; in-person home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Your child studies at home, but on a laptop, in a live one-to-one video lesson with a shared whiteboard. The tutor is picked for the subject and level, so a Tuljapur student is not limited to whoever happens to live in Dharashiv district.

How does online home tuition work for a student in Tuljapur?+

A tutor and the student meet on a video call at a fixed time, usually in the evening, and work through a topic or a set of past-paper questions on a shared whiteboard. The tutor marks the written work, explains what lost marks, and sets short practice for the week. A written note after each session tells parents what was covered and what to practise next.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost for a family in Tuljapur?+

The rate depends on the scarcity of the course, the level or tier, the length and frequency of sessions, and how current the tutor is with the syllabus. IB Gram publishes no prices. After you describe your child's needs, a rate for the specific match is quoted in writing before any booking, and the trial lesson comes first and is free.

My child boards in Pune or Hyderabad. Can we use IB Gram during Diwali and the summer break?+

Yes. Holiday blocks are a common arrangement for boarders: a tutor teaches daily or on alternate days while the child is home, after reading the school's own notes so nothing is repeated. Once school resumes, the schedule drops to a lighter weekly slot or pauses, depending on the workload the school sets. A parent only needs to share the dates the child will be home, and we plan the block backwards from them.

We live abroad but spend long stretches in Tuljapur. Can a course stay on track?+

Yes. Lessons run on Indian Standard Time, so a family in Tuljapur has no clock difficulty, and the tutor works to the same syllabus the child follows at the school abroad. Send us the school's board, subject list and exam session, and we match a tutor who can follow the same course through the stay and beyond, so the child returns to school abroad without a gap to explain to the teachers.

How reliable does the internet need to be for online lessons here?+

An ordinary broadband or good 4G connection is enough for most lessons. The free trial doubles as a connection test, so you find out whether the setup works before committing. If video stutters, tutors can switch to audio with photographed working, and keeping a phone hotspot ready as a backup is a sensible habit for any family in the taluka.

Will the tutor help with my child's Internal Assessment or Extended Essay?+

A tutor will coach but never write. That means shaping a workable research question, explaining what each assessment criterion rewards, checking a method before data is collected, and commenting honestly on drafts. Writing any part of an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework is declined, because it would breach the integrity rules of the IB and the exam boards.

Which IB subjects can be taught online for a Tuljapur student?+

Both Mathematics courses at Higher and Standard Level, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Management, English A, Hindi B, Computer Science, Psychology, Geography and Environmental Systems and Societies, plus Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay coaching. Marathi A is possible where the school or candidate arranges it. If your subject is not listed, ask, because the tutor pool is wider than any list.

Does it matter whether the IGCSE is Cambridge or Edexcel?+

Yes, in the details. Cambridge uses Core and Extended tiers and codes such as 0580 and 0625, while Edexcel uses Foundation and Higher tiers and codes such as 4MA1 and 4PH1. Questions are worded differently and mark schemes reward different habits, so the tutor must have taught your child's board. Tell us which one the school or centre has registered the student for.

Is an IB or IGCSE qualification accepted for engineering and medical admissions in Maharashtra?+

Generally yes, once equivalence is in place and the subject combination meets the rules. The IB Diploma needs an Association of Indian Universities equivalence certificate, and MHT-CET, JEE Main and NEET each list subject requirements. Rules change from year to year, so read the current information brochure or bulletin and ask the admitting authority if anything is unclear. Do this in Class 11, not after the results.

Where would my child sit the exams if we live in Tuljapur?+

Exams are sat at an authorised centre, never at home. IB candidates register through an IB World School. Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel private candidates register through a recognised exam centre, which in practice means a school or centre in a larger city. Confirm the current centre list with the board before you plan, because IB Gram tutors do not register candidates or run exams.

Our child is on the Maharashtra State Board. Is Class 9 too late to move to IGCSE?+

Not necessarily, but it needs a plan. Grade 9 is the usual start for IGCSE, and a student arriving from the state board typically needs a bridging period in English, Mathematics and the sciences. The bigger question is the school: IGCSE is examined through a centre, so settle where the student will sit before investing in lessons. A tutor can also tell you early whether the gap is a few weeks of catching up or a full year's worth.

How does the free trial lesson work?+

Your child sits a live lesson with a tutor on a real topic from their own course, with no payment and no commitment. Parents are welcome to listen in. Afterwards a short written plan sets out how the first month would run. You can then proceed, ask for a different tutor, or decide to wait, and the rate is written down before any booking.

What if my child and the tutor do not get along?+

Tell us, and we will arrange a different tutor. Fit matters more than loyalty to a first choice, and a hesitant student learns slowly. The short note after each session and regular check-ins are meant to surface the problem early, so a child is not left struggling on with someone who is not right. You do not have to justify the request or wait for a term to end.

How do we get started from Tuljapur?+

Send a message with your child's board or programme, the subject and level, the school or boarding arrangement, and when evenings are free. Write to support@ibgram.com or message +91 7439 368 115 on WhatsApp. We reply with a short list of tutors and a trial slot, usually built around the family's evening routine. If you are unsure which programme or tier applies, say so, and we will help you work it out.

Is IB Gram connected to any school, college or the temple trust in Tuljapur?+

No. IB Gram is independent of the Tulja Bhavani temple trust, TISS, every college and school mentioned on this page, the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel. Institutions are named only to describe Tuljapur's real education landscape and the nearest confirmed IB and IGCSE schools, never to suggest an arrangement. No school or institution has any say in how a tutor is chosen for a family.
