IB & IGCSE in Surapura

Why IB and IGCSE questions reach a taluk town in Yadgir district

Surapura, which many people still write as Shorapur, was the capital of the Bedar kings, whose rule ran from 1703 to 1858. The fort, the Venugopala Swami temple and Taylor Manzil still tell that story to anyone walking through the old town. Today the taluk earns its living from cotton, pulses and paddy, with canal water from the Basava Sagara dam on the Krishna, and its schools follow the Karnataka State Board or CBSE. International syllabuses are not part of the local classroom.

Yet the questions arrive. A cousin studies at an IGCSE school in Hyderabad, and the family wonders whether Class 9 would be the moment to follow. A doctor or bank manager posted here for a few years has a child halfway through an IB course elsewhere. A landowning family with a daughter aiming at universities abroad has heard that an international qualification travels well. Searches for IB and IGCSE tutors in Surapura come from households like these, usually from parents who cannot find anyone nearby who has even seen the syllabus.

We answer with teaching that happens on screen. Your child sits at home with a laptop or tablet while a tutor who has actually taught the Diploma, MYP or Cambridge and Edexcel course works through the topic on a shared whiteboard. The tutor is chosen for the subject and level and could be anywhere in India. What stays fixed is that the lesson runs in Indian Standard Time and ends with a written note that parents can read at leisure.

IB Gram is an independent service. We are not part of the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson or any school mentioned on this page, and we make no promise about admissions or marks. What we offer is careful teaching, straight advice about what is realistic from a taluk town, and a free first lesson so you can judge the approach before anything is agreed.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Surapura school years

Children in Surapura meet these programmes in different ways, usually after a move to a school elsewhere or while preparing for one. Here is what each stage involves and where a tutor is genuinely useful.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Young learners work through six transdisciplinary themes by asking questions and investigating, and the programme closes with a pupil-led exhibition in the final year.

For a child who speaks Kannada, Urdu or Telugu at home, steady spoken English practice through stories and short talks is the most useful thing a PYP tutor can add.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Eight subject groups are marked against published criteria instead of a single exam, and each student completes a Personal Project of their own design in the last year.

A student arriving from the Karnataka State Board often knows the facts but has rarely been asked to justify a method in writing, and tutoring builds that habit gently.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects run beside the Theory of Knowledge course, the Extended Essay and a service strand called CAS, with written papers in May or November of the second year.

No Diploma school could be confirmed in Surapura, so a Diploma student from here is normally boarding in a larger city or has moved with the family, and studies the same syllabus as anyone else.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Students take at least two Diploma courses alongside a career-related study, a language course and a reflective project.

It is uncommon in India; where a student does follow it, the Diploma courses inside it are tutored like any others.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Each IB course asks for a different kind of teacher. Mathematics Analysis and Approaches is heavy on algebra and calculus, Applications and Interpretation leans on data and technology, and the sciences want practical write-ups as well as exam answers. These are the subjects Surapura students most often bring to us.

IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, calculus, vectors and proof for students who like symbolic work, with timed practice on the long problems that Paper 3 sets at Higher Level.

IB Mathematics Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and finance taught with a graphing calculator, plus help choosing a manageable topic for the exploration.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, waves, fields and atomic physics, with practice at turning unfamiliar situations into equations and sensible estimates.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Structure, energetics, equilibrium and organic pathways, with mole calculations drilled until they feel automatic.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Cells, genetics, physiology and ecology, with data-based questions and structured long answers rehearsed from the first term.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Micro and macro theory with carefully labelled diagrams, applied to live cases such as farm support prices and irrigation spending.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case-study analysis and the core business tools, with help scoping a research question the student can really investigate.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Population, resources, climate and change, using river basin and dam examples to ground the case studies.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Close reading of unseen texts, comparative essays and oral commentary, with extra vocabulary work for students schooled in Kannada so far.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Computational thinking, programming and systems, with help documenting an internal solution clearly.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Biological, cognitive and sociocultural explanations, and the discipline of evaluating a study instead of merely retelling it.

IB History

HL / SL

Source analysis for Paper 1, essay planning for Paper 2 and a tightly framed internal investigation.

IB Kannada, Urdu and Hindi

SL / HL

Language A and B support for reading, writing and oral practice; availability depends on the language and level, and we say so plainly.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Discussion-led sessions on knowledge questions and the exhibition, so the student's own thinking carries the work.

Extended Essay (EE)

DP Core

Help narrowing a topic and building an argument; the research and writing remain entirely the student's.

IB MYP Sciences & Mathematics

MYP 1-5

Lab reports, investigation design and stepwise reasoning against the published criteria.

IB MYP Language & Literature and Individuals & Societies

MYP 1-5

Analytical writing and source evaluation, and keeping the Personal Project on a realistic timetable.

IGCSE coverage

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Surapura school timetables

No tutor visits homes in Surapura; in-person home tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Our three online arrangements are built around a taluk family's week, and you can move between them as the year changes.

Weekly lessons with one tutor

A fixed slot each week with the same tutor, so the syllabus your child actually follows is covered steadily.

  • Suits the long haul from Class 9 or Class 11
  • A parent may sit in on the first lesson
  • A written note follows every session
  • Slots can shift around harvest weeks and exams

Exam-run intensives

A tighter block of lessons in the weeks before mocks or the main papers, built around the gaps the last past paper exposed.

  • Targets topics lost in recent practice papers
  • Timed questions marked against the mark scheme
  • Uses the awarding body's own past papers
  • Eases off once the exam window closes

Two children, one lesson

Siblings or cousins on the same course share an hour, and the fee is divided between them.

  • Works best for MYP and IGCSE Core content
  • A lower cost for each child
  • Separate slots nearer the exams
  • One shared set of notes

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Surapura

01

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in or near Surapura?

  • No authorised IB or IGCSE school confirmed in Surapura or Yadgir district
  • Karnataka State Board and CBSE dominate local classrooms
  • Hyderabad and Bengaluru hold the nearest campuses
  • Tutoring before a move makes the first term easier

No, not that we could confirm. We checked the IB's list of authorised schools and Cambridge's, along with school directories, and found no IB World School or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school in Surapura or anywhere in Yadgir district. A few schools use words like international or global in their names, but a name is not an authorisation, so none is listed on this page.

The district itself was carved out of Kalaburagi in April 2010 and is still building its school system. Most children here attend Karnataka State Board schools, with CBSE in a smaller number, and Class 11 and 12 take place in pre-university colleges rather than inside the school. That structure shapes everything, including the moment at which a family first thinks about changing route.

Families who want an international syllabus therefore look outward. Hyderabad has the closest spread of IB and IGCSE campuses, Bengaluru offers more but is a far longer journey, and both mean boarding or a family move. The distance is also why most enquiries from Surapura come from households whose child already has a place elsewhere, or is about to apply for one.

If that describes you, a tutor can start before the move. A Class 8 student heading for an IGCSE school can practise scientific English and algebra in the preceding months, and a Class 10 student aiming at the Diploma can begin to see how Higher Level questions are worded. Arriving prepared makes the first term far gentler.

We will always say plainly when tutoring cannot replace what a school provides. A tutor can explain a syllabus and coach exam technique, but cannot run laboratory sessions, arrange CAS projects or sit your child's examinations.

02

How do the Karnataka State Board and PUC years compare with IB and IGCSE?

The Karnataka system examines a fixed syllabus in annual papers at the end of Class 10 and again at the end of the second pre-university year, while IB and IGCSE test understanding through longer, application-heavy papers and, for the Diploma, through internal work. The content overlaps more than parents expect. What differs is how a question is worded and what earns the marks.

In Karnataka, Class 11 and 12 are the first and second year of a Pre-University Course, taught in separate PU colleges under the Department of Pre-University Education, with Science, Commerce and Arts streams. The IB Diploma is a two-year programme of six subjects plus a core, while IGCSE is a two-year course at about Class 9 and 10 that leads on to A Levels or the Diploma. Moving from PUC to the IB is possible but needs the receiving school's agreement.

Language is the second big difference. Many local students have studied in Kannada-medium classrooms up to Class 10, and the step up to English-medium Mathematics or Science, with its own vocabulary, is steep. Tutors spend real time on definitions, on command words like evaluate and justify, and on writing answers in complete sentences.

The table sets the routes side by side, as they matter to families in Yadgir district.

03

What shapes the price of IB or IGCSE tuition for a family in Surapura?

Several things, and none of them is your address. Because lessons are online, there is no local premium and no travel charge, and we do not publish a fixed rate card. After you tell us the programme, subject, level and exam date, we send a written quote, so the figure you see is for the lessons you actually want.

The first driver is subject and level. Higher Level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Analysis and Approaches need teachers with deeper and rarer experience than IGCSE Core subjects or MYP topics, and the quote reflects that. The second is the tutor's own record, including years on the syllabus and whether they have marked or moderated papers.

Frequency comes third. One lesson a week across a term is a light commitment, while three a week before mocks costs more in total, though not necessarily per hour. Many Surapura families book weekly lessons through the year and add a short intensive block as exams approach. Sharing a lesson between two children on the same course brings the cost per child down.

Listings for home tutors across the wider region usually quote an average hourly figure for general tuition, which says little about IB or IGCSE teaching. A better test of value is whether the tutor can explain the exact mark scheme. The first lesson is free so that you can judge this before any money changes hands.

04

Local tutor, larger-city coaching, online specialist or self-study: which route fits?

For an IB or IGCSE subject, an online specialist follows the syllabus most closely, since the tutor is chosen for it. Teachers and coaching classes in and around Surapura are built on the Karnataka board and on entrance tests such as KCET, NEET and JEE, which is sensible for those goals but not for international papers. That is why families searching for IB and IGCSE tutors in Surapura end up looking online.

A local home tutor can still be valuable for younger children, for daily supervision and for subjects your child studies in a state or CBSE school. Coaching in a larger city suits students aiming at Indian entrance tests on top of everything else. Many families combine the two: a coaching batch or local teacher for the Indian track, and an online IB or IGCSE tutor for the international subject.

Self-study has its place, especially for students who read widely and finish past papers without prompting. The risk is silent misunderstanding, where a student practises the wrong method for months. A fortnightly lesson with a specialist is often enough to catch that early.

The table compares the routes honestly, including where an online tutor is not the answer.

The Surapura year: harvests, heat, Muharram and the exam series

A study plan for Surapura has to respect the farming calendar, because so many households are tied to it. Kharif crops such as cotton, pulses and paddy are sown with the monsoon and harvested between October and January, and rabi sowing follows. Harvest weeks pull parents, and often older children, into the fields, so a lesson time that works in July may not work in November.

Heat is the second factor. April and May in this part of north Karnataka are among the hottest months in the state, with daytime temperatures that commonly pass forty degrees, and the power supply can be uneven through the afternoon. Online lessons work best in the cooler late afternoon and evening, and a session lost to a power cut is moved to another slot.

Festivals shape the year as well. Ugadi in March or April, Dasara and Deepavali in autumn, Sankranti in January and Muharram, whose date drifts through the calendar, are all marked strongly in this region, while Eid and Christmas matter to families across the district. We ask at the start which dates your household keeps and draw the lesson plan around them.

On the exam side, Karnataka's Class 10 and second-year PUC papers fall in March and April. The IB Diploma has its main written session in May, with a smaller November one for some schools, and Cambridge IGCSE runs in May to June and October to November, with Pearson Edexcel adding a January series. A student doing PUC alongside an international subject, or entrance coaching, needs an early and honest timetable.

After school: where can IB and IGCSE students from Yadgir district go next?

  • AIU recognition and CUET-UG for central universities
  • NEET-UG needs Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology with English
  • JEE and KCET rules depend on subjects and on how the certificate is treated
  • UK, Canada, Australia and the US read IB and IGCSE comfortably

Many Surapura students aim at Hyderabad, Bengaluru or abroad, but Indian universities are a fully open door. The Association of Indian Universities recognises the IB Diploma as equivalent to the Class 12 certificate, and IGCSE is usually treated as the Class 10 stage, so an IGCSE student's Class 12 equivalent comes from the Diploma or A Levels. CUET-UG is the common entrance test for central universities and a growing number of others, and its rules change from year to year.

For medicine, NEET-UG asks for Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English at the qualifying level, so a Diploma student with that aim should choose Biology and Chemistry early. For engineering, JEE eligibility depends on the subjects taken and on how the certificate is treated by the admitting authority. Both need checking against the latest official bulletin, not against a family friend's memory.

Karnataka's own entrance route, KCET, and the special provisions for the Kalyana Karnataka region under Article 371(J) add another layer. They reserve seats in state institutions for candidates from the region, but how they apply to an IB or IGCSE certificate holder is for the admission authority to decide, so ask it before relying on them.

Abroad, the IB Diploma and the IGCSE-to-A-Level path are read easily by universities in the UK, Canada, Australia and the United States. Closer to home, Hyderabad offers IIT Hyderabad, the University of Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad and the Indian School of Business, while Bengaluru has the Indian Institute of Science, many private universities and a large job market.

07

Where do students from a Kannada-medium background struggle in IB Maths and the sciences?

Start with the Mathematics choice, because it shapes the rest. Analysis and Approaches is for students who enjoy algebra, calculus and proof, and it is the usual pick for engineering and the pure sciences. Applications and Interpretation suits those heading for economics, business or life sciences, with more statistics and technology. Both are offered at Standard and Higher Level, and a tutor can help compare them by working a sample paper from each.

Students moving from state board Mathematics usually have speed and accuracy but underwrite their solutions. IB examiners award marks for method and communication, so a tutor trains the habit of showing each step, defining symbols and finishing with a sentence of conclusion. Calculator use is a second gap: the graphing calculator is expected, and fluency with it is worth weeks of practice.

In Physics and Chemistry, the Higher Level papers go well beyond the board syllabus, and the internal investigation counts for a fifth of the final grade. Physics students most often stall on unfamiliar contexts, and Chemistry students on organic pathways and quantitative questions. Locally familiar ideas can help: the energy changes in an irrigation pump, or fertiliser chemistry in a cotton field, give a concrete anchor for work, power, acids and bases.

Biology rewards steady revision of vocabulary and diagrams, and its data-based questions reward practice with graphs from real experiments. We coach the investigation but never write any of it: a tutor can discuss the research question, the method and the logic of a draft, while the data, analysis and conclusions stay the student's own.

08

IGCSE Core or Extended, and how should English be handled after a Kannada-medium start?

The tier decision depends on the next step. Extended opens the full grade range and is the usual route to IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches, A Level sciences or engineering, while Core caps the top grades and suits a student who needs a secure pass in a demanding subject. Mathematics, the sciences and some languages use this structure, and the school normally settles the entry tier with the subject teacher.

A student joining an IGCSE school in Class 9 or 10 from a state board classroom will have covered some content and missed other parts. We start with a recent past paper and the classwork so far, then map the gaps against the exam session, instead of beginning again at chapter one.

English needs its own plan. Cambridge and Edexcel both examine English as a First Language and as a Second Language, and the school decides which the student sits. A Kannada-medium student typically writes correct but short answers, so the work goes into summary, directed writing and tone, together with listening and speaking practice for the oral component.

Cambridge and Edexcel are not interchangeable. Cambridge uses subject codes such as 0580 for Mathematics and Edexcel uses 4MA1, and paper structure, command words and formula sheets differ. We always match a tutor to the board the school actually enters.

What do online lessons need from a home in Surapura?

Less than most parents fear. A laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone, a steady connection and a quiet corner are enough. A phone can do for a first trial, but a larger screen makes shared working much easier, and a pair of headphones cuts out the noise of a busy household.

Connectivity in a taluk town can be uneven, so we plan for it. Keep a phone hotspot ready as a backup, charge the device beforehand, and tell us which hours of the evening are least reliable. The free trial doubles as a connection test, and if a lesson is lost to the network or a power cut, the tutor moves it to another slot.

Handwriting is part of mathematics and science, so the tutor asks the student to write on paper and show the page to the camera, or to use a tablet with a pen. The tutor then marks the working line by line, which is closer to sitting beside a teacher than most families expect.

Parents are welcome to sit in on the first lesson and to read the written note after each session. Younger pupils usually do better with a parent nearby for the first few weeks, while older students often prefer to work alone once they trust the tutor.

Where we tutor

Places around Surapura and how we plan lessons for them

Because lessons run online, where you live in the taluk does not narrow the choice of tutor. It does affect network reliability, evening routines, harvest weeks and the journey to school or coaching, so these notes show how we schedule around different parts of the town and its surroundings.

Fort and Durbar area

The old centre around the Bedar kings' fort, close to much of the town's schooling, so a weekday lesson can start soon after the last bell.

Venugopala Swami Temple quarter

A dense web of residential lanes around the temple; festival days bring crowds and noise, so we move lessons rather than compete with processions.

Taylor Manzil and the older streets

Long-settled households, where parents often want the written note after each session to follow progress closely.

Gopalaswami Temple and Devar Baavi side

A quieter stretch of the old town where an early evening slot suits families who finish the day's work before dark.

Jain temple neighbourhood

Trading and business households who commonly think of education in terms of Hyderabad and Bengaluru options.

Bonal, about 10 km out

The village by the Bonal bird sanctuary; rural connectivity can dip in bad weather, so we test the connection before the first lesson and keep a spare slot.

Kembhavi

A town in the taluk with its own market and schools, where families may compare Surapura's pre-university colleges before Class 11.

Hunasagi

About 33 km from Surapura and the seat of its own taluk, known for early Palaeolithic finds; a lesson that removes a long commute matters most here.

Bheemarayanagudi

A town of the district with an agriculture college, where science students may already be weighing entrance-test routes and can add one IB or IGCSE subject online.

Canal villages along the Basava Sagara system

Farming villages whose calendar follows the canal releases and the cotton and paddy seasons; we plan lessons around sowing and harvest rushes.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Surapura

Inside Surapura: nothing we could verify

We found no IB World School and no Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school in Surapura or elsewhere in Yadgir district. Local schooling runs on the Karnataka State Board and CBSE, and international syllabuses arrive through tutoring, boarding or relocation.

Nearby: Hyderabad (Kondapur and Manikonda side)

Hyderabad is the closest large city with a spread of IB and IGCSE campuses. It is a long road journey from Surapura, and families who consider it are usually weighing boarding or a move.

    • CHIREC International School
    • Oakridge International School

Nearby: Hyderabad (Bowrampet, Tellapur and Bachupally side)

Campuses on the north-western edge of the city suit families who would rather not cross Hyderabad every morning.

    • Glendale International School
    • Silver Oaks International School

    Nearby: Bengaluru

Further away, and almost always a boarding or relocation decision, Bengaluru has a larger number of authorised IB and IGCSE campuses.

    • Canadian International School, Bengaluru
    • Trio World Academy
    • The International School Bangalore

The schools named below are in other cities and appear only to show what lies within reach of Surapura; they are not recommendations. IB Gram is independent, has no link with any school and cannot vouch for an admission. Confirm a school's current IB, Cambridge or Edexcel status with the awarding body and with the school itself before acting.

A full session with no payment and no paperwork, so you can judge the teaching first.

    4. 04

      Agree the plan in writing

Lesson frequency, topics and the rate are written down before you commit.

    5. 05

      Review and adjust

We check progress every few weeks and change the tutor if the match is wrong.

    Why families choose us

What Surapura parents tell us matters most

    Matched to the syllabus

Your tutor has taught the exact course, level and board your child follows, not merely the subject in general.

Straight talk about what Surapura has

We say plainly that no IB or IGCSE school is confirmed locally, and help you weigh the realistic options.

    Built for long distances

Online lessons mean no journey to a coaching town, and they carry on after a move or a boarding placement.

    A written note every time

Each session ends with a short summary of what was covered and what to practise next.

    Coaching, never ghost-writing

Tutors guide assessed work without writing or submitting any of it.

    An easy way out

If the fit is wrong, you can change tutor without any awkwardness.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Surapura: your questions answered

Are there IB tutors in Surapura?+

Yes, online. Our IB tutors teach Surapura students live and one to one in Indian Standard Time, each chosen for the student's programme, subject and level. The tutor may be based anywhere in India, which matters because nobody nearby teaches these syllabuses. We describe the tutor, agree a trial time and send a short written note after every lesson.

Is there an IGCSE or IB school in Surapura?+

We could not confirm one. Searches of the IB and Cambridge school lists showed none in Surapura or Yadgir district. Local children attend Karnataka State Board or CBSE schools, and families wanting an international route look at Hyderabad or Bengaluru. Please check any school's status with the awarding body yourself, because a name like international does not prove authorisation.

Can I get IB or IGCSE home tuition in Surapura?+

You can get online home tuition: private one-to-one lessons taken at home on a laptop or tablet. No tutor visits homes in Surapura, because in-person home tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. The advantage is choice, since the tutor is picked for the syllabus and not the postcode, and the lesson feels much like a visit, with a whiteboard and live questions.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost for a Surapura student?+

It depends on subject, level, the tutor's experience and how often lessons run, so we publish no fixed prices. You receive a written quote before booking, and the first lesson is free. Higher Level sciences and Analysis and Approaches usually cost more than IGCSE Core or MYP work, and two children sharing one lesson pay less each.

Can a child from a Kannada-medium school move to IGCSE or the IB?+

Yes, though the first year needs patience with English. Students usually arrive with strong Mathematics and content knowledge but less written English, so tutoring concentrates on vocabulary, command words and full-sentence answers. The receiving school will often set its own assessment, so begin language work several months before the move rather than after it.

Which exam sessions do IB and IGCSE students sit?+

The IB Diploma has its main written session in May, plus a smaller one in November for some schools. Cambridge IGCSE runs in May to June and October to November, and Pearson Edexcel adds January. Your school or exam centre confirms exact dates. From Surapura, students usually start intensive revision in February and ease off in harvest and festival weeks.

Will online lessons work with power cuts and patchy internet?+

Usually yes, with a little preparation. A phone hotspot as backup, a charged laptop and a quiet corner are enough for most lessons. We test the connection in the free trial, and if a session is lost to a power cut the tutor moves it to another slot. Tell us in advance which evening hours are unreliable, and we will plan around them.

Will the tutor write my child's IA or Extended Essay?+

No. Tutors coach; they never write. A tutor can help your child choose a workable question, explain the marking criteria, discuss method and structure and respond to a draft, but the research, data and writing must be the student's own. We do not draft internal assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or coursework, and we decline any booking that expects it.

Can a private candidate sit IGCSE from Surapura?+

Sometimes. Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel accept private candidates through registered exam centres, but availability, fees and deadlines vary by centre, and it may mean travelling to a larger city for the papers. The IB Diploma normally needs enrolment at an authorised school. We can prepare a student for the papers; you must arrange the entry early with a centre.

Which parts of the Surapura taluk do you serve?+

All of it, since lessons run online. Families in the old town around the fort, in Kembhavi, Hunasagi, Bheemarayanagudi, Bonal and the canal villages use the same service and the same tutors. Where you live affects our scheduling advice for harvest weeks, heat and connectivity, but it does not change which tutor we can offer.

Should my child choose IB or IGCSE if we may study abroad?+

Neither is automatically better, and both are widely recognised. The IB Diploma is a two-year, six-subject programme with a core, while IGCSE is a two-year secondary course that usually leads to A Levels or the Diploma. The right choice depends on your child's strengths, the target country and the schools within reach, so speak to those schools before deciding.

Will an IB or IGCSE certificate work for KCET, NEET or JEE?+

It can, but eligibility depends on the subjects taken and on how the admitting authority treats the certificate, so check the current official rules before choosing subjects. NEET-UG expects Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English. We teach the syllabus and do not advise on admissions; the Karnataka Examinations Authority and the NTA publish the rules.

Do you teach Kannada, Urdu, Telugu or Hindi?+

Sometimes, depending on the language, level and board. Mention the language and course in your first message and we will say honestly whether we have a suitable tutor. Language tutors are matched more carefully than most, because a poor fit shows up quickly in writing, and we would rather decline than offer someone who has not taught the syllabus.

Do you also teach students in Yadgir, Raichur and Kalaburagi?+

Yes. The same online service and tutor pool cover families across north Karnataka and in Hyderabad, so a Surapura child who boards in another city can keep one tutor in term time and at home in the holidays. It also lets siblings or cousins in different towns join a shared lesson when they follow the same course.

    How do I begin?+

Send a WhatsApp message to +91 7439 368 115 or email support@ibgram.com with your child's programme, subject, level and school. We reply with a suggested tutor and a trial slot. The first lesson is free, you are not obliged to continue, and a written rate reaches you before anything is booked.

What if my child does not get along with the tutor?+

Tell us, and we will arrange another tutor. A poor fit is usually about pace or teaching style rather than ability, and changing early is quicker for everyone. The free trial lesson exists partly to reveal this, and our regular check-ins give a second chance to adjust without awkwardness.

Is IB Gram linked to any school or examining body?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service with no affiliation to the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel or any school. Schools named on this page are listed only to describe what lies within reach of Surapura. We do not promise grades or admissions, because results depend on the student's effort and on the school's own assessment.
