IB and IGCSE Tutors and Private Home Tuition in Sujanpur

Parents in Sujanpur who ask for IB or IGCSE home tuition often learn that the nearest teaching of either is a half-hour drive away, if it exists at all. IB Gram skips the drive. Your child sits at the study table, a tutor who has taught the precise syllabus appears on the laptop, and the lesson is live and private, whether you live near the GT Road, the Dhar Kalan side or the canal belt.

  • Each tutor has taught the exact IB or IGCSE course your child follows
  • Every lesson is on video; nobody visits a Sujanpur home
  • The first lesson is free, with nothing to sign

IB & IGCSE in Sujanpur

IB and IGCSE tuition for families in Sujanpur and around Pathankot

Sujanpur sits about six kilometres from Pathankot on the old Jammu road, between the Ravi river and two canals, in the extreme north of Punjab where the state meets Jammu and Himachal. It is a municipal town of garment traders, farmers, shopkeepers and, increasingly, families linked to Pathankot's large military presence. This page is about the Sujanpur in Pathankot district, not the Sujanpur Tira of Himachal. Schools here follow the Punjab Board or CBSE. We found none in Sujanpur that we could confirm teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE programme.

Pathankot is a different matter. Directory sites list an international school in Pathankot city that claims an IB curriculum for primary and middle classes, but we could not confirm IB World School authorisation, so we name no school and ask parents to check the IB school directory themselves. For a family in Sujanpur, the practical meaning of home tuition is a screen. The tutor teaches from another Indian city; your child works at home with a laptop; the lesson is private and live. Nobody drives to Sujanpur, as teaching in the house is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

The families who write to us are easy to picture. Army and air force personnel at Pathankot and Mamun, transferred every two or three years, whose children must carry a syllabus from posting to posting. Garment and hosiery traders whose sons and daughters will study in Canada or Australia. Doctors and teachers in Pathankot who want something sharper than the local school offers. And NRI relatives who ask why a Punjab child cannot follow the same course as cousins in Brampton or Melbourne.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. We are separate from the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson and every school, and none of our tutors writes internal assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or coursework. Explaining, questioning and coaching are their work.

At a glance

  • One-to-one live teaching for IB PYP, MYP and DP and for both IGCSE boards
  • Online throughout; house visits are confined to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A brief written account after each lesson
  • Another tutor whenever you ask
  • Fees in writing before you book
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Sujanpur school years

Most children in Sujanpur follow the Punjab Board or CBSE, whether in Punjabi, Hindi or English medium. Below, each IB stage is described as a tutor meets it when the international course is studied at home.

PYPPre-school to Class 5, ages 3 to 11

IB Primary Years Programme

Young children look at themes such as who we are and how the world works, learn by asking and making, and finish with an Exhibition.

A PYP enquiry from Sujanpur typically concerns a defence family's child who began in another city and must not lose the thread of the programme.

MYPClass 6 to 10, ages 11 to 16

IB Middle Years Programme

Eight subject groups are marked by published criteria, and each student completes a Personal Project of their own devising.

With no MYP lessons close by, the tutor reads the criteria with the student and shows what strong work looks like at each band.

DPClass 11 and 12, ages 16 to 19

IB Diploma Programme

The Diploma pairs three Higher Level with three Standard Level subjects and adds the Extended Essay, TOK and CAS, for a total out of 45 plus up to three core points.

Diploma interest here points abroad, to Canada, Australia and the UK, and to medicine and engineering at home, so sciences, Mathematics and English lead.

CPClass 11 and 12, ages 16 to 19

IB Career-related Programme

A few Diploma courses are combined with a career-related qualification and a reflective project for those who prefer an applied route.

We know of no CP school near Sujanpur, so tutoring supports the academic courses inside the programme.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Sujanpur school timetables

Sujanpur households generally pick one of three arrangements. All are private live calls, but they differ in length and purpose.

One teacher all year

A standing weekly hour with the same tutor, who covers the specification in sequence and returns comments on photographed homework.

  • Fits IB, MYP and IGCSE
  • A drawing board is shared on screen
  • Remarks on every worksheet
  • A teacher who learns your child's pace

A course that follows a posting

For defence and government families who move every two or three years and want one tutor to stay with the child from station to station.

  • The same tutor continues after a transfer
  • Lesson notes travel with the child
  • Timings reset to the new school's day
  • Copes with a mid-year switch of board

Final-weeks sprint

A compressed series of lessons before the May or November papers, centred on timed questions and fixing errors.

  • Answers marked against examiner schemes
  • Repeated mistakes are logged and retested
  • Starts roughly five weeks before the papers
  • Fitted around fog and festival weeks

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Sujanpur

01

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Sujanpur?

  • No confirmed IB or IGCSE school in Sujanpur
  • Pathankot city listings of IB-curriculum classes need checking against the IB directory
  • Typical families: defence personnel, traders with relatives abroad, professionals
  • Look up new schools on ibo.org and the Cambridge list

Nothing we could confirm. Searches for Sujanpur and its neighbouring villages turned up listings such as Akal Academy and a Rajput public school, but no listing states an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE programme for any of them. Wikipedia's town page mentions international schools, yet no school name or curriculum is given, and we would rather say what we could not verify than guess.

Pathankot city is a closer question. Aggregator sites list two campuses of an international school with an IB curriculum for classes up to eight. Those listings do not state World School authorisation or which IB programme runs, and aggregator data is often out of date. A careful parent should check the IB school directory or ask the school for its authorisation letter. Several other Pathankot schools use Cambridge or international in their names but are affiliated to CBSE.

Whatever the answer, an IB or IGCSE course in Sujanpur is a choice made at home. The families who make it are often defence personnel, traders with relatives abroad, and professionals. For them, an online tutor who has taught the exact syllabus is the practical bridge.

Should a school here win authorisation later, the IB's school finder and Cambridge's directory will show it before any tutoring page, so please consult them for future claims.

02

Punjab Board, CBSE, IB or IGCSE: how does a Sujanpur family decide?

None of these four outranks the others. Each leads somewhere different, and in Punjab the useful question is how each one connects to Indian entrance exams and to the study-abroad routes so many families watch.

The Punjab Board is the most widely used route, offers Punjabi as a language, and feeds NEET, JEE, CUET and state admissions. CBSE is a national syllabus that moves between states, which matters to defence families. IGCSE trains applied reasoning in tiered papers across two years. The IB shares its load among six subjects, a long essay and service, and is recognised by universities in Canada, Australia and the UK.

A family that will certainly stay in Punjab may find the board route with solid coaching the quickest road to a seat. International options deserve a look when postings are likely, an overseas degree is the aim, or the child learns best by explaining.

03

What does IB or IGCSE home tuition cost in Sujanpur?

  • The fee reflects subject, level, tutor record, weekly hours and plan length
  • You see a written quote first
  • No spending on travel, rent or hostels
  • A full opening class at no charge

No price list appears here, and that is on purpose. Helping a young child read and coaching a Higher Level Physics candidate are not the same job. So we begin with a conversation about your child and finish with a quote in writing, which you may accept or decline.

The quote is built from four things: how few specialists teach the subject, what experience the tutor has with your child's exact specification, how many sessions a week you want, and whether the plan is steady all year or a burst before papers.

Add up what a Sujanpur household avoids. Petrol into Pathankot at rush hour. A rented room by a coaching centre in Chandigarh. Hostel fees for a child sent away. A premium for a teacher willing to come to a small town. For posting families there is a further saving, since no new tutor must be found after each transfer.

The opening lesson is free and runs a full hour with a working tutor, so you can judge the teaching before any money moves.

04

Online tutor, coaching class, local teacher or self-study: what works in Sujanpur?

Pathankot has no shortage of coaching, and much of it is good. Its focus is NEET, JEE, CUET, board exams and, in many centres, IELTS. Cambridge and IB papers fall outside that menu; ask about IGCSE Chemistry and the usual reply is that the syllabus is not taught.

Home tutors around Pathankot are strong in school Mathematics and Science. Few have ever marked to an IB scheme or studied a Cambridge examiner report, and those habits are what earn marks in the international papers.

Working alone from past papers can take a disciplined child a long way, but when nobody marks, one wrong method can linger for months. The closest stand-in for a school class is an online tutor who has taught the identical course. Compare all four below.

How do winter fog, stubble smoke and festivals shape the exam year in Sujanpur?

The IB Diploma is examined in May and November, and the two IGCSE boards sit spring, summer and autumn series. May is the usual choice in India, which puts last-minute revision in April and May, just as the plains heat up and the wheat harvest occupies farming families.

Punjab's seasons are sharp. Dense fog in December and January can close schools and slow roads, and in October and November smoke from paddy stubble burning can hang over the plains. Lohri in January, Baisakhi in April, Dussehra and Diwali, Gurpurab and the winter wedding season fill the family calendar. Defence families add their own rhythm of postings, often announced in spring.

We therefore place heavy content teaching in the clear weeks of September and February, treat fog weeks as lighter consolidation, and keep April for timed papers when evenings are pleasant.

06

What can a Sujanpur student do after IB or IGCSE?

  • AIU equivalence letter for public universities
  • Re-read CUET-UG, JEE Main, NEET-UG and Punjab counselling notices annually
  • UCAS, direct entry or the Common Application abroad
  • Fit Diploma subjects to the degree you want

The next step depends on three things: the certificate, the subject mix behind it and the country in view. Learning the paperwork during Class 11 spares a rush in Class 12.

Inside India, public universities generally ask a Diploma graduate for an equivalence letter issued by the Association of Indian Universities, while some private universities accept the IB score directly. CUET-UG restates its position on international boards every year. Students finishing IGCSE usually join Class 11 at a CBSE, ICSE or IB school, or take A Level instead.

Medicine and engineering turn on the subject list. NEET-UG asks for Biology, JEE Main for Mathematics, and both ask for Physics and Chemistry. Punjab runs its own counselling for state seats, and the terms for international-board applicants may differ, so read them afresh each year.

Abroad, the UK works through UCAS, Canada and Australia mostly through direct applications, and American colleges through the Common Application. Punjab's diaspora ties make Canada and Australia familiar ground, and IB results are widely understood there. What a tutor adds is subject strength, the base that every application rests on.

07

What does a Mathematics or science class look like on video?

The classroom blackboard becomes a digital board. The tutor shows a method, your child works through the following question on paper at the laptop's side, and a photo of the page returns so that handwriting and layout, not only the final answer, can be read.

The Diploma offers two Mathematics courses. Analysis and Approaches rewards a liking for algebra and calculus and suits engineers and economists. Applications and Interpretation works with data, probability and finance using technology and suits business and life-science plans, including commerce degrees in Canada and Australia. Talk through your plans with the tutor before the subject form is signed.

For the sciences, tutors map the specification, drill calculations and definitions and discuss how an experiment could be designed. The report is the student's own and feedback is given as questions. Biology receives extra time here, because so many students aim at medicine.

Winter fog can weaken the signal and summer cuts can end a call, so keep a charged laptop and a phone hotspot within reach for timed papers.

08

Which IGCSE tier should a Sujanpur student choose, Core or Extended?

The tiers impose limits. Core tops out at grade C and Extended at A star, so a student entered for Core can never go beyond C, however well the paper goes.

That is why a child planning the IB Diploma, A Level sciences or a medical or engineering degree should usually take Extended for Mathematics and the sciences. A subject that is truly hard, or studied only to widen the timetable, may suit Core better. After some months the tutor can revisit the decision and suggest a switch while entries remain open.

The remaining timetable follows a pattern: English and Mathematics for nearly everyone, two or three sciences, and one of Geography, Economics or Business. English as a second language is a steady scorer for students from Punjabi- or Hindi-speaking homes.

Terms depend on the board, with Cambridge saying Core and Extended and Edexcel saying Foundation and Higher. Give us your child's board and the tutor is matched to it.

Where we tutor

Sujanpur and nearby places our online tutors reach

As every class is online, distance is not the point of this list. It shows how roads, fog and school hours in each place help fix the best slot.

Sujanpur main bazaar

The garment and general market, where traders favour lessons after the shutters come down.

Pathankot-Jammu road

The highway strip with showrooms and homes, noisy and crowded at peak hours, so evening classes need a quiet room.

Canal belt near the UBDC

Residential and farming pockets beside the Upper Bari Doab Canal, where fog sits low in winter mornings.

Madhopur side

Close to the Ravi headworks, with irrigation staff families and farming households.

Dhar Kalan direction

The hill-edge road towards Himachal, with villages whose power and broadband can be patchy.

Sujanpur colony areas

Newer housing where defence and government employees rent, and where transfers are common.

Pathankot city

About twenty minutes away, with the main schools, hospitals and coaching, and the cantonment close by.

Mamun cantonment

The military township on the Pathankot side, home to service families who change postings every few years.

Gurdaspur

The neighbouring district town, with colleges and a coaching market.

Dalhousie and Dharamshala

Hill stations a couple of hours up the road, with boarding schools and tourism families.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Sujanpur

Sujanpur and Pathankot district

Local schools follow the Punjab Board or CBSE. We found no confirmed IB or IGCSE school in Sujanpur. Directories list an IB-curriculum school in Pathankot city for younger classes, but authorisation could not be verified, so we name none; check the IB directory.

    Nearby: Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and Amritsar

These bigger Punjab cities lie a few hours off, yet no IB or IGCSE campus could be pinned down with certainty in any of them, and so none is named.

      Nearby: Chandigarh and Mohali

The Chandigarh region is the nearest large group of cities with confirmed IB and Cambridge schools, four to five hours away by road. Moving or boarding is a heavy decision, which is why many families start with online lessons.

      • Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26
      • Firststeps School, Sector 26
      • Oakridge International School, Mohali

      Nearby: Mussoorie

Woodstock School is a well-known international boarding option for north Indian families, and online tutoring suits the holidays.

      • Woodstock School, Mussoorie

We do not call any Sujanpur school an IB or Cambridge/Edexcel IGCSE school, since none could be confirmed, and we name no school in Pathankot city because IB authorisation could not be confirmed there either. The schools in other cities below are mentioned only because some families weigh them, and none is connected to IB Gram.

      Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Sujanpur: your questions answered

Is this the Sujanpur near Pathankot or the one in Himachal?+

It is Sujanpur in Pathankot district, Punjab, a municipal town some six kilometres from Pathankot. The Ravi, the canals, the garment market and the military presence mentioned here belong to it. Families in Sujanpur Tira, Himachal, can book the same online lessons, because video does not care where you sit.

Will a tutor ever come to our home in Sujanpur?+

No. Having a teacher at the child's side in the house is something IB Gram runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Within Sujanpur the teacher appears on the laptop for a live private lesson while your child works at their usual desk, and you can choose a tutor from the whole country instead of the neighbourhood.

Does any school in Pathankot truly teach the IB?+

Directories describe an international school in Pathankot as following an IB curriculum for classes up to eight, but we could not confirm World School authorisation or which programme it runs, so we name none. Other schools with Cambridge in their names are CBSE-affiliated. Look at the IB directory before trusting a listing.

How is IGCSE tuition at home arranged from Sujanpur?+

Send us the subject and board. We name a Cambridge or Edexcel tutor who has taught that exact paper, and classes follow on video at hours you choose. With no travel involved, you may ask for a tier, a paper or an exam series, and the pairing follows.

Where could a Sujanpur private candidate sit IGCSE papers?+

At an approved centre that accepts outside entries, in practice in Chandigarh, Delhi or Amritsar. Each board lists centres and entry deadlines long before a series, so enquire early about practical papers and fees. We prepare the student; the family and the centre handle registration and the sitting.

What decides the fee, and is the trial truly free?+

The trial is a normal class with a practising tutor and costs nothing, so you see your child at work. A written quote follows, based on the tutor's experience, subject and level, and weekly hours. Higher Level sciences tend to cost more than primary help, and no travel cost exists.

Which subjects do Sujanpur students ask for most?+

Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics lead, since medicine and engineering dominate. Business Management and Economics follow, driven by trading families and study-abroad plans, then English, Punjabi and Hindi. Theory of Knowledge appears now and then; tutors discuss ideas but never write the essay.

After the IB Diploma, can my child still sit NEET or JEE?+

Often, though not automatically. Each agency issues fresh eligibility rules, generally asking for Physics and Chemistry with Biology or Mathematics, and frequently an equivalence certificate. Punjab counselling may apply other terms to international-board candidates. Choose Diploma subjects with that in mind and read the notice before Class 12.

We may be posted elsewhere mid-year. Can the tutor stay?+

Yes. Because lessons are online, a move from Pathankot to Pune or Panagarh does not end the arrangement. Slots shift to the new school's timetable and lesson notes carry over. If the new school uses a different board, the tutor adapts the plan or we find a better match.

What if fog, smoke or a power cut interrupts a class?+

Keep a mobile hotspot beside the laptop, and a small inverter if you have one. When a call fails, the lost minutes are given back in a later slot and the note lists what was covered. Winter fog and summer heat cause most trouble, and a lost session is rebooked free.

Will a tutor draft the Extended Essay or an internal assessment?+

No, because that would be unfair to your child and could put the Diploma at risk. A tutor explains the criteria, questions a weak research question and comments in general on structure. The sentences, numbers and arguments must come from the student, which is also the habit universities look for.

How early can IGCSE preparation start?+

Class 8 or 9 leaves room to breathe. Over a few gentle months a child learns to give reasons instead of reciting answers. Early sessions handle command words and fundamentals, and timed past papers come later. One trial class shows how your child copes and what weekly hours are realistic.

My child studies in Punjabi medium. Is English-only teaching a problem?+

Not for long, usually. English is the teaching language because the papers are in English, but every tutor is Indian, many follow Punjabi or Hindi, and they can clear up a stubborn point. IB Punjabi B or IGCSE English as a Second Language can be added beside the core subjects.

How many lessons a week make sense?+

One hour a week with homework is a sensible opening. The month before the papers often calls for two, three or four sessions. Your tutor looks at past-paper marks to suggest changes, and a written notice from you is enough to alter the plan.

How fast must our internet connection be?+

A steady line of about 5 Mbps will carry video and a shared board. Broadband or reliable Wi-Fi beats mobile data, and a spare hotspot helps when fog or a storm weakens the signal. If a call breaks, the missing minutes are given back later and the note records what was covered.

      How do I get started?+

Send a WhatsApp message to +91 7439 368 115, or write to support@ibgram.com, mentioning the class, board, subject and a time that suits you. A tutor is usually proposed within days and the trial is scheduled. Continuing is optional, and a different tutor is yours for the asking before any payment.
