IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Soyagaon

Soyagaon, which is also spelt Soegaon or Soyagav, is the taluka town below the Ajanta hills on the road between Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Jalgaon: plenty of highway, little railway, no international school. When a child here needs private tuition from home in the IB or IGCSE, the lesson has to be a live one-to-one video class, because tutors do not visit houses in Soyagaon and the teacher can sit in any Indian city.

  • Your child's tutor will have taught the same IB subject and level, or the Cambridge or Edexcel code the school lists
  • Lessons are on camera; tutors calling at the house exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • One free class, then a written plan, then your decision
  • No link to any Soyagaon school, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson

IB & IGCSE in Soyagaon

IB and IGCSE tuition for a Soyagaon family

Soyagaon has been a taluka headquarters since 1953, when villages from Sillod and Kannad were joined to form it, and it is now a town of about 30,000 near the source of the Sona river in the north of the district. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is roughly 120 km away and Jalgaon 60 km. Schools follow the Maharashtra State Board and CBSE, and we could not verify any IB World School or Cambridge or Edexcel centre in the taluka, so we name none.

The Ajanta caves bring the world to the door. Guides, hoteliers and drivers who work near the hills meet visitors from dozens of countries daily, and their children grow up curious about how schooling works elsewhere. Add families with a son in Pune or Dubai, officials posted to the taluka for a few years and parents who have heard of the IB from a relative, and a steady trickle of enquiries follows.

Because no one close by teaches these courses, the answer is a tutor chosen for the course, living anywhere in India. Teachers who ran Diploma or IGCSE classes last term are in Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur and beyond, and a camera seats them at the Soyagaon desk. Nobody visits houses, since in-person home tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR; what is offered is private tuition from home, online.

IB Gram is its own small service, answerable to none of the IB Organization, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, the Maharashtra board or any school in the district. Tutors teach, set tasks, mark them and give feedback on drafts, while every Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework piece handed in remains the student's own writing.

At a glance

  • PYP, MYP and Diploma tutoring for Soyagaon and northern Aurangabad-district families
  • IGCSE from Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel, tailored to your code and tier
  • Live video lessons on IST, each with a written note to follow
  • A free first lesson, then a written plan, then payment if you choose
  • No home visits in Soyagaon; those run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Soyagaon school years

No IB programme is taught in Soyagaon, so each reaches a family by another road: a relative's school in Pune, a boarding place, a posting or a plan to leave the state board. These notes describe a tutor's work at each stage for a child living at the foot of the Ajanta hills.

PYPClass Nursery-5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

In a PYP classroom a term might revolve around how people use caves, rivers and hills, and children bring reading, counting and drawing to the question before presenting at a closing Exhibition. No board paper follows. A tutor builds the base: easy English reading, secure number sense and the habit of giving a reason.

A Soyagaon child needing PYP help usually speaks Marathi at home and is about to join a school in Pune, Mumbai or abroad, so English talk and reading stamina come first.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

An MYP task for a Class 8 pupil could be to design and defend a plan for managing water in a drought-prone village, marked on four criteria instead of one percentage. Many schools end the stage with a Personal Project. State-board students tend to know plenty of facts and need coaching to explain and evaluate them.

For Soyagaon families, MYP tutoring tends to bunch into the Diwali and summer holidays, when a boarder is home and has weeks for criterion feedback.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

A Diploma candidate studies six subjects, three at the higher level, plus Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay and a creativity-and-service record. The papers are in May and November and 45 is the best total. Since internal assessments carry a fifth to a third of the grade in most subjects, the two years need a timetable from the first month.

A Diploma student with a Soyagaon home studies in a different city, so the tutor works to that school's mock dates and internal deadlines.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Students on the Career-related route sit two or three Diploma courses beside a vocational study and a reflective project. It fits someone already certain of a field, and India has few schools offering it. The academic subjects match Diploma depth.

A town beside the Ajanta caves can easily imagine a hospitality or heritage career route, but any CP enquiry depends on a school elsewhere running the programme.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Questions from Soyagaon are pointed: History HL for a heritage guide's child, Biology for a future doctor, Maths before a Class 9 start at an IGCSE school. We record subject, level and exam date, and the tutor search follows.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, calculus and proof. Maharashtra board students are quick with routine algebra and gain from learning to write out a complete argument.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics and modelling with a graphic calculator; an exploration could use cotton prices, visitor numbers at Ajanta or rainfall records.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, waves and fields, and the knack of reporting uncertainty and chaining steps in a long answer.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Calculation topics early, organic routes and equilibrium later, supported by a reaction map the student draws.

IB Biology

HL / SL

A big syllabus worked through recall cycles, labelled diagrams and exact answers to command terms.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Tourism demand, farm-gate prices and drought risk make real examples for markets and market failure.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case studies, plus an internal project on a real lodge, eatery or transport firm that the student writes alone.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Timed commentary on unseen texts for students whose home language is Marathi or Hindi.

IB Marathi A Literature

HL / SL

For Marathi-speaking students, where the school supports it: set works read closely and a comparative essay.

IB History

HL / SL

Source analysis and essay planning; the Buddhist cave art of Ajanta is a striking local source for studying early societies.

IB Visual Arts

HL / SL

A natural subject beside the Ajanta murals, with portfolio planning and critical writing coached through questions.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Designing algorithms and databases on paper, then coding a working program for the internal task.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Drought years, the Sona river and hill forests supply local evidence for judging sustainability.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Case studies with place, date and figure, drawing on Marathwada's rainfall variability and tourism.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

A Soyagaon student arrives at the IGCSE by way of a larger city's school, or as a possibility considered before Class 9. Each Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel subject has a code and a tier, so the first lesson starts from what the school's list prints.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Slow algebra and absent steps hurt in Extended; tidy method pays in Core; the tier shapes the year.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Calculus and trigonometric identities arrive early, so Diploma Maths feels like a natural next step.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Rearranging formulae without dropping units is a daily exercise, and the written substitute for lab work gets its own practice.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, bonding and electrolysis through worked examples; tests for ions and gases get separate sessions.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Organs, inheritance and ecosystems; every written answer is trimmed to the mark allocation.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Definitions, diagrams and data response using tourism and agricultural examples.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Pseudocode is drafted first and Python typed afterwards, practising planning and debugging together.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Pieces aimed at a named reader, such as a letter or report, together with descriptive writing and summaries, all returned with comments.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Grade 9-10

Comprehension and the required writing formats, useful for Marathi speakers who study Hindi as a second language.

IGCSE History 0470

Grade 9-10

Source questions and structured essays, with the twentieth-century syllabus supported by local and national examples.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Soyagaon school timetables

Every family needs the same things: a screen, a shared page and a tutor who knows the course. What changes is how often you meet and how near the exam is, giving three typical shapes.

Weekly, same hour

A single weekly slot the household can protect, usually after school or on a Sunday, with the same tutor each time.

  • The syllabus drives the match; the tutor's city does not
  • One format fits Diploma, MYP and IGCSE alike
  • Practice work is corrected during the call
  • You get to know one teacher well

Weekly, with a progress file

The weekly hour carries on, each class ending with a short written entry. About once a month a longer review sets out progress in terms a parent new to IB vocabulary can follow.

  • A note follows every lesson
  • The review each month can reshape the plan
  • A gentler tempo for younger children
  • A second slot before mocks is a message away

A push before the exam

As an exam nears, lessons draw closer together around timed papers and quick comments, with the cotton-picking rush and festival days kept out of the diary.

  • Mock papers are timed and graded against the official scheme
  • Comments return within days
  • Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Eid weeks are left free
  • Agree the block about two weeks beforehand

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Soyagaon

01

Who in Soyagaon asks about the IB and IGCSE?

  • No IB or IGCSE school confirmed in Soyagaon taluka
  • Enquiries come from tourism, official and overseas-linked families
  • Online teaching turns the entire country into a tutor pool
  • Examiners mark a script identically whatever its town of origin

Schools in the taluka teach the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE syllabus, as nearly all do across Aurangabad district. We found none with IB World School status or Cambridge or Edexcel approval. That is the honest picture, and it shapes the enquiries: nearly all come from people who met the IB or IGCSE somewhere else.

Tourism is one thread. Soyagaon sits close to the Ajanta caves, and families who run lodges, restaurants or taxis meet visitors from Japan, Europe and North America every season. Their children hear about schools abroad and sometimes ask for a route. Government and bank staff posted to the taluka for a few years are a second thread, arriving with children already in an international programme.

The third thread is the Maharashtra family network. A cousin in a Pune IB school, an uncle in the Gulf, a brother in the United States: when relatives study or work abroad, parents in small towns start to ask what the IB would involve. A tutor on a screen lets them find out without moving the child.

No local school is needed. The papers and marking are identical everywhere, and a teacher in Pune or Nagpur who knows the course is more useful than a general tutor in the next lane. What the student needs is practice with the style, which a weekly hour supplies.

02

How do the Maharashtra board and CBSE differ from the IB and IGCSE?

  • A question's first verb tells you how long and how formal the answer should be
  • Technical English needs short, regular practice
  • Rivers, soils and crops nearby make good investigation topics
  • One real lesson shows whether the style suits the child

Papers set by the Maharashtra board prize complete, accurate answers taken from the textbook, with CBSE adding a touch of application. The IB and IGCSE ask the student to use the content: read new data, weigh explanations, propose a method. The first word of each question, such as outline, discuss or justify, sets how much to write.

In Soyagaon a child usually speaks Marathi or Hindi at home and studies in Marathi or English medium, then must write English paragraphs under time. The ideas are rarely the problem. The sentences are. Short, regular writing tasks, returned with comments line by line, build fluency fastest, and a tutor keeps a two-language glossary of technical words.

The third change is independence. An IB student designs an investigation, gathers data and reports honestly on what happened, and IGCSE sciences test practical skill on a separate paper. Board practicals are shorter and more scripted. Tutors encourage the new habit with questions.

No board suits every child. A student aiming at Maharashtra's own engineering or medical routes may be better off on the state board, while one drawn to study abroad or to project work may flourish in the IB. One free lesson in one subject is the cheapest test.

03

What does tuition for the IB or IGCSE cost near Soyagaon?

  • Cost reflects level, programme, how scarce the tutor is and how long the lesson runs
  • A written quote reaches you ahead of the sample class
  • No travel cost and no highway journey for a lesson
  • Take one subject first and review after four weeks

We leave out a price list because any number would mislead somebody. The rate rests on programme and level, the scarcity of tutors for the exact course, the length of the lesson and the weekly count, with Diploma HL Maths and sciences normally above IGCSE Core. It is written down for you before the sample class.

Two charges a city household sometimes meets do not apply here. Nothing is paid for tutor travel, and no student has to ride a bus to Sillod, Jalgaon or Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for a class. On the highway that can mean three hours of travel for one hour of teaching, and an online hour returns that time to study.

Pace the money. Pick the one subject causing most worry, give it a month and read the notes carefully; then think about a second. Families who proceed this way learn what lessons achieve and usually pay less than those who buy four subjects together.

Judge any provider by recent work: what has each tutor taught in the past two years, and for which board? Someone who has supervised Mathematical Explorations or run an Edexcel 4PH1 Physics class holds knowledge a general science tutor cannot match, and that is what the fee buys.

04

Is an online tutor better than coaching in Sillod, a local teacher or books alone?

  • Equipment: one laptop and one dependable connection
  • Only Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR have tutors who visit homes
  • A lesson at home avoids late buses on the highway
  • Official past papers are free; a tutor marking them is what makes them useful

Parents tend to compare four things. Evening classes in Sillod, Jalgaon or the divisional city run to state-board and entrance calendars and rarely cover Diploma or IGCSE papers. The teacher down the road knows your child, not the specification. Books and websites abound but nobody reads the student's answers. A live tutor chosen for the course brings knowledge and personal feedback together in one hour.

As for format, to be clear: nobody will arrive at the door in Soyagaon, since in-person home tuition covers only Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Soyagaon children get private tuition from home online, on a laptop, with a webcam and a shared page where both pens show.

The terrain backs the screen. Evening buses on the highway are few, the hill stretches near the Ajanta range can be foggy in the rains, and summers are hot and dry. A lesson at the study table needs a charger and a signal, and a phone hotspot is cheap protection against a broadband fault.

Books and free sites keep their value. Syllabuses and past papers are posted openly by the boards, and a determined student can learn a lot from them. The thing nobody can do alone is read a long answer critically, which a weekly tutor hour provides cheaply.

05

How do drought years, the kharif rush and exam dates fit together in Soyagaon?

  • Write exams, mocks and holidays together on one sheet first
  • Use field-rush and festival weeks for revision and reading
  • Fit slots to the visitor season for tourism families
  • Keep a charged laptop and a phone hotspot to hand

Examiners work to three calendars. The Diploma is sat in May and November, with scores in July and January. Cambridge IGCSE runs in June and November and, at some centres, March. Pearson Edexcel runs in January, May/June and November. The school registering your child chooses, so write exams, mocks and holidays on one page.

The taluka's own year follows the rain. The monsoon arrives in June and the kharif crops, with cotton and maize prominent in this belt, are picked in autumn when whole families are busy in the fields. Ganesh Chaturthi in August or September, Navratri and Dussehra, and Diwali all fall in the same season, and the Ajanta tourist season peaks from October to March.

A sensible plan works with the calendar. In field-rush and festival weeks the student revises notes and builds vocabulary. The calm gaps carry the hardest new topics. Households that run lodges or taxis fit lessons to the visitor season, and the tutor leaves paper-only work for travel days.

Marathwada also knows drought and heat. Because May papers land at the peak, a lesson at dawn or after sunset holds attention better than one at three in the afternoon, and cooler winter evenings suit longer sessions.

06

Where can a Soyagaon student go after the IB or IGCSE?

  • Indian universities count the Diploma as Class 12
  • CUET-UG is the main gate to central universities
  • Test eligibility is revised, so reread each year's bulletin
  • Foreign universities add predicted grades and referee letters

Within India the Diploma is accepted as the equal of Class 12, thanks to a ruling from the Association of Indian Universities, so most universities will look at an applicant. Central universities usually admit by CUET-UG, where IB students pick the papers that match the course. Maharashtra's state universities and professional colleges set their own conditions, a few tied to board marks, so each prospectus should be read in full.

A family hoping for medicine or engineering should study the entry rules before fixing Diploma subjects. The JEE Main and NEET-UG bulletins list which subject mixes count and how international certificates are treated, and they change periodically. Download the current versions in Class 11, and remember that Maharashtra's own counselling adds further conditions.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has a state university and several professional colleges, and Pune and Mumbai have the state's largest clusters. An international certificate keeps those doors open if each course's subject requirements are met. Heritage, art and hospitality courses may also appeal to students raised beside Ajanta.

Universities overseas normally request predicted grades, teacher references and an English score. Tutors handle the academic preparation, and the school handles counselling and applications. With relatives in the Gulf and the West common in Maharashtra's small towns, many families compare several countries.

07

How are Maths and science taught on screen to a Soyagaon student?

  • Let the planned degree decide the Maths course
  • Holding working up to the camera exposes errors on the spot
  • Each internal assessment is the student's own composition
  • Rivers, soils and farms outside the door make real investigations

Picture a Class 11 girl, Tuesday evening, Maths Analysis and Approaches HL. She shows the camera her attempt at six problems. The tutor halts at the fourth and asks why line two follows line one; together they fix the step and agree three similar problems for Saturday. The sister course, Applications and Interpretation, leans on data and software, and her intended degree decides which one she sits.

Her Physics class the same week might open with an old Paper 2 question that joins a field, an energy change and a graph. Before touching a calculator she has to state the governing principle at each stage; that habit earns more marks than another memorised formula. Chemistry lessons work likewise with organic routes, Biology lessons with terms and labelled diagrams.

No one travels, and no one except the student writes assessed work. The Exploration and each science investigation stretch over many weeks; the tutor asks probing questions, and the student composes every line. Notes after each class record which skills have moved forward and which still wobble.

Where the school lab gives little time, tutors fall back on simulations, stored data from real experiments and safe experiments with kitchen items. Rivers, hill forest and farmland around Soyagaon also give a Biology or ESS student natural material to investigate, shaped by the tutor's questions.

08

Core or Extended: how should a Soyagaon student plan IGCSE subjects?

  • Start from the school's own subject list
  • Extended suits students comfortable with algebra
  • Keep a two-column glossary of technical terms
  • Tutors prompt with questions; the student writes the coursework

Everything begins with your school's subject list. Candidates commonly enter between six and ten papers, mixing a language, Maths, two sciences and some electives. If the Diploma might follow, Additional Maths and sciences studied separately are valuable groundwork, where the school offers them.

Tier decides the ceiling. If the school enters your child for Core, the paper covers roughly two-thirds of the content and a C is the highest grade on offer. If it enters Extended, the full syllabus is examined and A* is reachable. Strong algebra and a cool head under time point to Extended; shaky fractions point to Core for now, with a request to move up before entries close.

Wording trips up capable students. A Marathi-medium child might understand osmosis completely yet know it only by a local term, whereas the examiner looks for the English word inside a clear sentence. Tutor and student compile a glossary in two columns and then do short writing tasks corrected line by line. English as a Second Language is a fair first certificate where the base is thin.

Before choosing a subject, find out how its practical side is marked for your code. Cambridge science candidates meet either a bench practical or a written paper about one; Edexcel spreads such marks differently; History, Art and similar subjects may count a portfolio or coursework. The tutor reads the specification, asks questions and checks understanding, and the student produces every submitted page.

Where we tutor

The Soyagaon taluka and nearby towns reached by our online IB and IGCSE tutors

Because lessons are online, the places below describe the setting rather than the delivery: the road to each bigger market, the effect of a drought year or a festival on an evening, and a family's position relative to Sillod, Jalgaon and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Soyagaon town

The taluka headquarters on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalgaon highway, with Maharashtra board and CBSE schools and a weekly market.

Highway corridor

The main road to Jalgaon in one direction and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the other, the lifeline for buses and goods.

Ajanta hills edge

The foothills where the taluka meets the caves region, with tourism income for some households.

Fardapur

The village nearest the Ajanta caves, used by visitors as a base and a landmark for the region.

Sillod

A neighbouring taluka town from which villages were transferred, with colleges and a bigger market.

Kannad

The other parent taluka, an old town with schools and a Marathwada trading tradition.

Jalgaon

The Khandesh city about 60 km away, known for bananas and gold, with a wider range of schools and hospitals.

Gautala sanctuary area

Forest country nearby, where wildlife and hill roads shape travel after dark.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The divisional city about 120 km away, with universities, hospitals and the district's largest school market.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Soyagaon

Soyagaon and northern Aurangabad district

The taluka's classrooms teach the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE syllabus. We looked for an IB World School and for Cambridge or Edexcel centres and found none, so online lessons are the way to study these courses from here.

    Nearby: Sillod and Jalgaon

The two closest bigger towns, with more private schools and coaching classes. We could not confirm an international curriculum at either, so they count as stronger board-school options for now.

      Nearby: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The divisional city has the district's largest school market, and some schools there may teach an international curriculum. Check each on the IB or Cambridge website before applying.

        Nearby: Pune and Mumbai

The metros where most Maharashtra families look for IB and Cambridge schools, usually through boarding or relocation. No school is named here without confirmation.

We name no Soyagaon school, as none could be confirmed to offer the IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE. The cities below are where Marathwada families look for such schools; mentioning them is no endorsement, and IB Gram has no link with any board, trust or school.

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

          1. 01

            Describe the student

Give the programme or board, the subject and level, latest marks, the target exam and the evenings your Soyagaon household can spare.

          2. 02

            Read the names with reasons

No one around Soyagaon teaches these courses, so we search all of India and attach a reason to each tutor named.

With no IB or Cambridge classroom around Soyagaon, the net is cast over the entire country.

Pay after you have seen it

You see a lesson before paying, so the decision rests on evidence.

          Hands off the assessed text

Tutors prompt and react; the assessed wording is the student's.

          Records in plain words

After every lesson a brief note, and each month a review, put progress into everyday language.

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Soyagaon: your questions answered

How does a Soyagaon family find an IB tutor?+

Write once, giving the programme, subject, level and the exam in view. You get back a shortlist of teachers who have lately taught exactly that course, together with a free first lesson. The taluka has no IB school, so nobody nearby is bypassed; we simply search the entire country.

          What will lessons cost?+

The fee depends on four things: programme and level, how rare a qualified tutor is for that course, how many minutes each lesson lasts and how many lessons run per week. Diploma HL Maths and sciences usually come out above IGCSE Core. You receive the figure in writing before the trial, and the tutor's home city does not change it.

Does a tutor come to the house in Soyagaon?+

Nobody visits houses in Soyagaon. Home visits are confined to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, so your child studies at home on a laptop with a camera, and the tutor gives the whole hour to that one student.

Is IGCSE available for Cambridge and Pearson?+

Yes, for both boards. Each lesson starts from the code and tier your school prints, for instance Cambridge 0580 Extended Mathematics or Edexcel 4PH1 Physics, since that code settles which papers are sat.

Is there an IB or Cambridge school in Soyagaon?+

We could not confirm any in the taluka. Local schools run the Maharashtra board or CBSE syllabus. Families seeking an international school generally look at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune or Mumbai, and a school's present authorisation should be checked on the IB or Cambridge website before applying.

Our son boards at an IB school in Pune. Can he have a tutor at home in the holidays?+

Yes, and plenty of boarders do exactly this. A tutor is matched to his school's subject and level and keeps to its term calendar, so a fortnight at home in Soyagaon over Diwali or in summer yields marked papers and visible Internal Assessment progress.

          Is the first class free?+

No fee is charged. Your child sits a live video lesson on a topic from the real syllabus, then receives a short written plan. After that you may carry on, ask for another tutor or stop, and nobody from our side telephones to press you.

Where does a tutor stop on an Internal Assessment?+

The line is drawn at writing. A tutor may help choose a question that can really be investigated, read the criteria aloud, plan the collection of data and respond to a draft. The report, the figures and the conclusion are the student's own, because the IB requires every submission to be authentic.

          Which Diploma subjects are available?+

Subjects we can staff include Maths in either form at HL or SL, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Management, Computer Science, Environmental Systems, Geography, History, Visual Arts and English; Marathi and Hindi depend on who has free hours. Give us all six Diploma subjects in one message and we will tell you what is possible.

Is anything offered for younger children?+

Yes. In MYP the work is criterion-marked tasks and the Personal Project; in PYP it is reading, writing and a feel for numbers before entry to an IB school. Parents bring this up when a posting, a boarding place or a move to Pune is on the horizon.

Does learning over video really work?+

On camera, these subjects work well. The tutor writes on a shared page, the lens can swing to the student's notebook and papers are marked while both of you watch. A teacher who has run the course in another state is of more use than a generalist in the next street. Keep the connection steady and the laptop charged.

          How are tutors screened?+

We check qualifications first, then ask for proof that the tutor has taught this exact programme and subject during the last two years, then discuss the marking criteria in detail. The free class is the last gate because it shows the teaching itself. When the fit is poor, a different tutor takes over.

          When should lessons begin?+

If you can, start in the first term, meaning Class 9 for IGCSE and Class 11 for the Diploma. Gaps are simpler to close in autumn than in the spring crush of internal deadlines and mocks. If the course is already under way, counting back from the first paper can still produce a workable plan.

We might move from the Maharashtra board to IGCSE. How can we test the idea?+

Test the idea on one subject. A tutor sets the current syllabus beside the proposed one, points to thin English writing or practical skills, and gives a view on Core or Extended. The change of school happens elsewhere, yet the preparation can start at the Soyagaon table this month.

Can lessons be held in the evening or on Sunday?+

Yes. Weekday evenings and Sundays suit most Soyagaon households, tourism families can pick a slot that fits the visitor season, and summer lessons go best at dawn or dusk. Slots can move around Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali or Eid if you warn us in advance.

What if my child and the tutor do not suit each other?+

If the pairing is wrong, say so and we will find someone else. The fault lies with our matching and never with the child. Since each lesson ends with a note and a review comes every few weeks, trouble shows early and no family needs to sit through a term of lessons that are not working.

Is IB Gram tied to any school or board?+

No. IB Gram is independent of the IB Organization, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, the Maharashtra board, CBSE and every school in Soyagaon or Aurangabad district. Names used here are for background.
