IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Private Tuition in Soron

Soron is a town of ghats, temples and fairs beside the old Ganga channel, and a child here following the IB or an IGCSE is rare enough that no local tutor has taught either. IB Gram offers private home tuition to Soron in the only form it can reach you: a live, individual video class with a tutor who has coached the very paper before. Nobody comes to your door in Soron, since house visits take place just in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

  • Each tutor is chosen because they have taught your child's own IB subject or IGCSE paper
  • Lessons are online only; no tutor visits Soron, and home visits exist solely in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A free first class, with rates sent in writing
  • A few lines to parents after every lesson

IB & IGCSE in Soron

What a Soron family is really asking for when it says IB or IGCSE

Soron sits on the Budhi Ganga, the old course of the river, in Kasganj district. Pilgrims know it as Soron Sukar Kshetra, the Varaha pilgrimage site, and many believe it to be the birthplace of the poet-saint Tulsidas. Twice a year its calendar fills with fairs: the animal market in October and November and the Mokshda Ekadashi bathing in December. Between those, it is a small Uttar Pradesh town where schools follow the UP Board or CBSE.

No school in Soron, Kasganj or neighbouring Etah that teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE could be confirmed by us. A family that raises these courses is therefore not picking among local options; something has drawn their plans outward, such as a job in Delhi or the Gulf, a relative abroad, or a wish to study overseas.

That is where a tutor fits. A class is a conversation across a screen, with a shared digital board where both can write. Because the tutor has taught the same course before, they know where students coming from a UP Board background usually slip, and they fix it at the root.

Nobody stands behind IB Gram except IB Gram: it has no tie to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school. Its tutors teach and give feedback, and they never write an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or other coursework for a student.

At a glance

  • Live one-to-one lessons on a shared whiteboard
  • PYP, MYP, DP and CP of the IB, plus Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE
  • Tutors matched by course, wherever they live
  • A free first class and a written plan for month one
  • Lessons in Soron are online, as home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Soron school years

No school in Soron offers any of the four IB programmes. What follows is therefore about preparation: what a child should be comfortable with before meeting each one in another city.

PYPClass 1-5, ages 6-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Children work through themes such as how people share the planet, asking and researching their own questions, and the last year closes with an Exhibition. The most useful tutoring at this age is gentle: reading aloud, writing a few honest sentences and explaining a sum out loud.

In Soron, PYP questions usually come from parents of a younger child who expect to relocate to Delhi NCR or abroad and want English to feel easy.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Assessment is by criteria, and Year 5 ends with a Personal Project. Pupils trained to reproduce exact answers can be surprised by tasks where the reasoning, not the result, earns the credit.

Students from Hindi-medium UP Board classes around Kasganj often need the most help with science write-ups and with extended English writing.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six Diploma subjects, three at Higher and three at Standard Level, are joined by Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word Extended Essay and CAS activities. Written papers cluster in May.

A Diploma student with Soron roots usually studies in another city, so a weekly online class in Maths or a science guards the weakest subject.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

In CP, at least two Diploma courses sit beside a career-focused study and a reflective project. Few Indian schools run it, and the academic part is as demanding as in the Diploma.

CP questions from Kasganj district are rare; support, if requested, would focus on the Diploma courses in the student's combination.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Soron school timetables

Choose a tempo; the lesson itself is the same in every case. A single student and a single India-based tutor meet on a live video call. Nobody drives to a house in Soron, as visits at home are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

A fixed hour every week

A day and time are agreed, typically after school and before dinner, and one tutor takes the syllabus in order while returning to whatever keeps going wrong.

  • The same tutor all term
  • Real exam questions in every session
  • A recap afterwards
  • A fair week off is easy to arrange

A push before the paper

Lessons come closer together in the weeks before a mock or the May series, and every minute goes on topics that are still losing marks.

  • Timed answers, marked while you watch
  • A plan agreed on paper first
  • Handy for private candidates
  • Closes when the exam does

Home tuition with the screen as the doorway

Parents who type home tuition into a search bar want private teaching in their own house. We give the teaching by video; the tutor stays where they are, because physical visits are confined to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

  • A laptop, headset and a quiet corner
  • You may sit through the trial
  • A replacement tutor if the first match is poor
  • Fees confirmed in writing beforehand

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Soron

01

Does Soron have an IB or IGCSE school, and who asks about one?

We found no school here that we could verify. Classrooms in Soron and Kasganj follow the UP Board or CBSE, as do most private schools in Etah. A family wanting the IB or an IGCSE must consider Delhi NCR, another metro or a boarding school, or sit IGCSE papers privately.

The families who write to us have usually set out on a journey in their heads. A son working in Gurugram who wants his younger sister to follow a portable qualification. A uncle in the Gulf. A shopkeeper on the ghat road who has saved for a daughter's degree abroad. A government employee with a transfer order.

For each of them the tutor works as a dress rehearsal. Months before an international classroom, a child can get used to how questions are phrased; a child already enrolled elsewhere who is home for a year can hold on to a subject.

Since nothing local exists to compare, tutors are drawn from across India and judged by their record with the specification and by the trial class.

02

How does life in a fair-and-pilgrim town shape a study year?

Soron's calendar is unusual. The October-November animal fair, where horses and camels are traded for up to a month, brings dealers, noise and visitors to the town. In December the Mokshda Ekadashi fair fills Hari Ki Paudi with bathers. Chhath, Diwali, Dussehra and Holi come on top.

For a student, that means whole weeks when a quiet room is hard to find and normal routines stop. The sensible response is not to fight the calendar but to plan around it: mocks and intensive revision blocks are put well before the fair dates, and lighter weeks are accepted during them.

The weather adds to this. Summers on the Gangetic plain are hot and dusty, with afternoons over forty degrees in May and June, so lessons move to the morning and the late evening. Winter fog from December to January can slow roads, though a lesson on a screen does not care.

A tutor who knows the calendar can push the heavy topics into the quiet months and leave practice papers for the busy ones.

03

How are the UP Board and CBSE different from IB and IGCSE?

Open a UP Board or CBSE paper and the task is to prove a prescribed book has been learnt; questions often echo earlier years. IB and IGCSE papers keep the knowledge and change the setting: an unfamiliar graph, a case with odd numbers, an essay that calls for a verdict.

A bright Soron student can therefore feel slow in a first IGCSE paper. Facts are not missing; the habit of writing out reasoning in sentences is, and a few weeks of targeted practice usually fixes it.

Even the scoreboards differ. The state board and CBSE give percentages, IGCSE hands out letter grades from A* to G, and the Diploma totals points out of 45; colleges in India and overseas translate each their own way.

Neither path is softer. A tutor's first task is to demonstrate how an examiner builds a question and what a full answer looks like.

04

What goes into the price of IB or IGCSE tuition for a Soron family?

  • Which programme, which level, which subject
  • Years the tutor has spent teaching that paper
  • Hours per week and the length of each session
  • No fares or hostel rent, because everything is online

We print no rate card, as a number without a subject misleads. Tell us the course, level and weekly pattern you want, and a written quote arrives before you book anything.

Level and subject count most: a Higher Level science class needs more specialist preparation than a Class 6 MYP lesson. Weekly hours are next, then how deeply the tutor knows the exact specification.

Soron households skip costs a metro household cannot, such as the bus to Aligarh or Agra for a tuition centre, a hostel bed for a term or a centre's admission fee. The quote is the whole bill.

A free first class lets you test the value before spending anything.

05

Is an online tutor better than coaching in Aligarh or Agra, or self-study?

For these syllabuses, usually yes. The coaching houses of Aligarh, Agra and Bareilly prepare students for board exams, JEE and NEET; none is built around IB command terms or Cambridge mark schemes.

A self-driven student can learn plenty from past papers, but marking one's own script is slippery. Most people grade themselves kindly, and a recurring slip can survive for months.

A tutor from your own lane is easy to hire, but such teachers rarely know these mark schemes. Online teaching removes the road and widens the pool to the whole country.

Online has one cost, which is robustness: it needs a steady connection and power. Heavy summer demand and storms can disturb both, so keep a charged laptop and a phone hotspot ready.

06

Where can a Soron IB or IGCSE student go for higher education?

  • AMU, Agra, Bareilly and Delhi institutions through entrance routes
  • AIU equivalence for the IB Diploma
  • CUET-UG for central universities
  • UK, Canada, Australia and US pathways

Universities within reach include Aligarh Muslim University, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Agra and Rohilkhand University in Bareilly, with institutions further off in Lucknow, Kanpur and Delhi. Admission mixes CUET-UG, JEE, NEET and campus tests, and an IB student should read each year's notices before settling subjects.

For the Diploma, the Association of Indian Universities issues an equivalence that most institutions accept, though each still lists its own required subjects and minimum scores.

Outside India the picture is friendly: British universities make offers on predicted grades, Canadian and Australian ones publish conversion tables, and American colleges read the Diploma next to test scores where those are required.

No tutor can promise admission. What is possible is to raise marks in the subjects a degree demands, and to plan before Class 11 choices are locked.

07

What is a Maths or Science class on video actually like?

A Class 11 student settles at a table in a Soron lane on a December evening with the laptop open. The tutor, a few hundred kilometres away, begins by asking which question won last night. The student puts it on the shared board; the tutor reads the working, halts at the very line where it turned and rebuilds just that step.

Two near-twin questions test whether the repair held, and a short timed problem closes the hour, marked while the student waits.

Maths splits in two: Analysis and Approaches for pupils who like algebra and calculus, Applications and Interpretation for those leaning toward business or biology. In the sciences the rhythm is the same, with extra care for the investigation: choosing variables, handling uncertainty, plotting results and drawing a conclusion. Shared data sets replace apparatus.

After a few weeks a tutor can name the handful of topics that drain the most marks, and the rest of the hours go there.

08

Which IGCSE tier and subjects should a Soron student choose?

Think of the tier as the highest grade a paper allows. Extended reaches A*, so it fits anyone likely to carry the subject into IB Higher Level or A Level; Core stops lower and suits a pupil who prefers a secure mid-range result. Schools assign tiers, and a private entrant chooses on the registration form.

Maths is the pivot. Extended Maths with Additional Maths gives a Class 11 student comfort with calculus, while a pupil who fears algebra is usually better off with a clean Core result than a bruising Extended attempt.

Choose subjects by looking at the destination: Maths, Physics and Chemistry for engineers, Biology and Chemistry for doctors, Economics, Business Studies and Accounting for commerce, a popular route among the district's trading families.

Cambridge and Edexcel both travel well, and teaching follows the specification on the entry form.

Where we tutor

Soron, Kasganj and the Braj belt where our online tutoring reaches

Teaching arrives by screen, so places are context: where Soron students go for college, which cities sit equally far in every direction, and what the local calendar does to a study plan.

Soron town

A pilgrimage town on the Budhi Ganga with narrow old lanes, temples and ghats, and UP Board and CBSE schools.

Hari Ki Paudi

The bathing ghat where the December Ekadashi fair gathers crowds and shuts normal routines for days.

Sukar Kshetra temple area

The Varaha shrine precinct at the heart of the town's religious identity.

Kasganj

The district headquarters, with the larger schools, a government polytechnic and coaching classes.

Etah

A neighbouring district town on the road toward Agra, familiar to many Soron families.

Aligarh

A university city with Aligarh Muslim University, a common destination for higher education.

Agra

The nearest large city in several directions, with Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University and a busy private-school sector.

Bareilly

A larger city to the north-east with Rohilkhand University and an established coaching market.

Mathura

A Braj pilgrimage city that many Soron families visit, with its own colleges.

Delhi NCR

About 200 km away, where Soron professionals most often relocate and where IB day schools cluster.

Soron and Kasganj

We could confirm no school in Soron, Kasganj or Etah as offering the IB or either IGCSE board. They run the UP Board or CBSE, so a family wanting an international syllabus must look outside the district.

    Nearby: Agra and Aligarh

Agra and Aligarh both have many private schools, and some advertise international programmes. We could not verify a specific IB or Cambridge school to name, so ask each school directly.

      Nearby: Delhi NCR

Noida and Gurugram have many IB day schools, and Gurugram is where IB Gram offers in-person home tuition. Admission, fees and programmes change, so confirm with each school.

      • Pathways School Noida

Schools appear here only to show what exists and where students go. IB Gram is independent of each of them and of the IB, Cambridge and Pearson, with no partnership, commission or endorsement.

      How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

      1. 01

        Describe where things stand

The course and level, your latest test result, and the hours that stay calm in your Soron home once the lanes go quiet.

      2. 02

        Compare a couple of names

Each tutor comes with a few lines on the papers they have previously taught.

      3. 03

        Attend a trial class

Bring the topic that has caused trouble; there is no fee and nothing owed afterwards.

      4. 04

        Write down the first month

We list what to cover, the weekly slot and how progress will be reported to you.

      5. 05

        Review, and swap if needed

After a few weeks we compare results with the target and introduce another tutor if the match is weak.

      Why families choose us

What Soron parents tell us matters most

      Exam paper first, address second

The paper your child will sit comes first; who can teach it comes second.

      Straight talk about the gap

Where Kasganj has no confirmed IB or IGCSE teaching, we recruit across India instead of pretending.

Judge by the hour, not the brochure

One free class lets you watch a real tutor tackle a real topic.

      Explaining, not ghost-writing

Explaining and marking are fine; the IA, Extended Essay and TOK essay remain the student's work.

      Short written updates

Each class closes with a short plain message to the family.

      Leave or switch freely

No fixed term applies, so pausing or changing tutor costs nothing.

      Student and parent reviews

      Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Soron: your questions answered

Is any IB or IGCSE tutor available for Soron?+

Yes, over video. Nobody in Soron or Kasganj has coached these papers as far as we found, so your child is introduced to a person in another Indian city who has. The class runs on Indian time, and where the tutor lives has no bearing on the teaching.

Does a teacher visit the house in Soron?+

Short answer: no. Doorstep lessons are a Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR service only. A Soron student keeps their own desk, the teacher appears in a window on the laptop and a shared digital board does the job of the notebook.

      What decides the fee?+

Short answer: the programme, the level, the subject and how long the tutor has taught that paper. Higher Level Diploma Physics and Class 7 MYP Science are priced differently. The figure arrives in writing first, and with nobody travelling no fare or centre charge is added.

Which international schools are near Soron?+

Short answer: none that we could confirm. Soron, Kasganj and Etah schools follow the UP Board or CBSE. Agra and Aligarh have many private schools but we could not verify an IB or Cambridge one to name. Delhi NCR has many IB schools, and every school should be asked about its current programmes and fees.

Is it possible to write IGCSE exams without being entered by a school?+

Short answer: yes, as an outside entrant. Papers are written at a Cambridge or Pearson centre that takes private candidates, probably in Agra, Lucknow or Delhi, while preparation runs online. Entry closes well before each series, so ring the centre early about fees.

Is the trial class really free?+

Yes. It is a working class with real content, and you choose the topic. A parent may sit beside the student, and if the tutor's manner does not suit your child we suggest another. A trial is never invoiced.

Can a tutor write the IA or Extended Essay for my child?+

Short answer: never. A tutor may unpick the mark scheme, shape a loose idea into a researchable question, test whether a method works and comment on a draft the student produced. Whatever is submitted must be the candidate's own work.

Our home language is Hindi and Braj. Does English-medium teaching cause trouble?+

Not for long. Exams are in English, so lessons are too, although a tutor can restate a hard idea in Hindi when that helps, if you say so in the brief. After a term of weekly conversation most students speak up far more readily.

What happens when the power cuts out mid-lesson?+

Missed minutes are made up. Charge the laptop and keep a phone hotspot nearby, since peak summer demand and storms can disturb supply. The tutor fits the lost time into another slot and still sends notes on the part that took place.

Is the leap from the UP Board to IGCSE or IB very big?+

Short answer: it is a real step but a short one. What changes is the wording of questions and the length of a good answer, not the chapters themselves. Early classes take apart verbs like justify and compare, then move to genuine past questions marked against the official scheme.

When is the right time to begin?+

Short answer: at the beginning if possible. Class 9 suits IGCSE and Class 11 suits the Diploma, because gaps are cheapest to mend early. Starting later is still sensible, and a block of six to eight weeks before a single paper tightens technique.

Which time slots do Soron families usually pick?+

Short answer: early mornings, weekday evenings and weekend mornings. Afternoons are too hot in summer for sustained study, and the fair weeks in October, November and December are noisy. Around Diwali, Holi and Chhath we fix dates in advance so revision is not squeezed out.

How can parents tell the lessons are working?+

Short answer: through brief notes and regular reviews. Every class ends with a message on the topic covered, what went well and what to practise; every few weeks a longer review compares marks with the grade being aimed for. A parent can also sit in on the trial.

Can we change tutor if the first is not right?+

Short answer: yes, free of charge. Pairings often stall on pace or manner rather than ability. With no fixed term, a family may also pause during exams or a festival and restart later.

Is IB Gram part of any school, board or exam body?+
