IB & IGCSE in Sirkali

IB and IGCSE tutors in Sirkali: private lessons at home, online

Sirkali, also spelt Sirkazhi, sits on the northern edge of the Cauvery delta in Mayiladuthurai district, a town known for the Sattainathar temple, for the Tevaram poet Thirugnanasambandar who is traditionally placed here, and for the devotional singer Sirkazhi Govindarajan. It is a place of rice fields, temple streets and small shops, and the nearest major school choice lies a long drive away. Home tuition in Sirkali for an international curriculum is therefore a real gap, and that gap is what this page is about.

Families who ask about IB and IGCSE tutors in Sirkali tend to fall into a few groups. Some are doctors, engineers or lecturers whose children are in a boarding school in Chennai, Coimbatore or the Nilgiris. Some belong to delta farming and trading families with relatives in Singapore, Malaysia or the Gulf who expect a child to study abroad. Others are returning from a posting overseas and want the child to keep following the same syllabus rather than start the Tamil Nadu State Board mid-stream.

Home tuition in Sirkali means online home tuition. Our tutors do not travel to Sirkali and do not teach in your house; in-person lessons are offered only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. A student sits in their own room with a laptop, a notebook and a stable connection, and the tutor works on a shared screen, marks scanned pages in real time and sends a written note afterwards. Because no one has to commute, we can look across India for the person who has actually taught IB Chemistry HL or IGCSE Extended Mathematics for years.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. It is not part of the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge University Press and Assessment, Pearson Edexcel or any school mentioned on this page, and none of them endorses us.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Sirkali school years

Sirkali children usually meet these programmes through a school elsewhere, or through a family plan to move. Here is what each stage asks of a student, and where outside help makes sense without crossing into doing the child's work.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised into transdisciplinary units of inquiry, and the final year closes with the PYP Exhibition, a collaborative inquiry presented to the school community.

In a Tamil-speaking town the English side of the programme needs deliberate attention, so tutors use picture books, short oral retelling and vocabulary games before any writing task.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Students work across eight subject groups, are assessed against published criteria and finish with a Personal Project in the last year.

A child moving from a State Board or CBSE classroom often needs coaching on explaining reasoning in full sentences, because MYP criteria reward the working as much as the answer.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three or four at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay and CAS, with external examinations in May or November.

Sirkali's Diploma candidates study in schools far from home or at a boarding campus, so lessons are slotted around hostel study hours and holiday visits.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Students take at least two DP courses alongside a career-related study, a reflective project and a personal and professional skills component.

Very few Indian schools run the CP and none that we could confirm is near Sirkali, though its DP courses can be tutored exactly like Diploma subjects.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

A tutor is only useful if they know the course in front of the child. Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at HL is a different undertaking from Applications and Interpretation at SL, and a strong Biology teacher is not automatically the right MYP Sciences tutor. These are the subjects we match for students in Sirkali.

IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Algebra, functions and calculus fluency for Papers 1 and 2, then the longer unfamiliar problems of Paper 3 at Higher Level.

IB Mathematics Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, financial modelling and technology use, with calculator routines practised until they are automatic.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, waves, fields and modern physics, including the habit of showing units and uncertainty in every answer.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Bonding, energetics, equilibrium and organic reactions, with stoichiometry drills that stop small arithmetic slips costing marks.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Cells to ecosystems, with practice on the extended-response questions that decide the top grades.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagrams drawn the examiner's way and real-world commentaries drawn from Indian and global news.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Using case-study tools correctly and writing answers that name the business, not just the theory.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Paper 1 text analysis, comparative essays and a calm rehearsal of the individual oral.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms, object-oriented thinking and structured written answers on networks and systems.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Biological, cognitive and sociocultural approaches, with an evaluation structure students can reuse across essays.

IB Tamil and Hindi

SL / HL

Language support for Tamil-speaking students, covering reading, writing accuracy and literature set texts.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Delta, coastal and flood-risk case studies are a natural fit, plus fieldwork write-up skills.

IB History

HL / SL

Source analysis for Paper 1 and sustained argument for Paper 2 and the historical investigation.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Discussion partners for knowledge questions and exhibition objects, with the student writing every word.

Extended Essay (EE)

DP Core

Help refining a question and planning the argument, never drafting any part of it.

IB MYP Sciences & Mathematics

MYP 1-5

Criterion-style lab reports, unit tests and the reasoning habits that make Diploma science easier.

IB MYP Individuals & Societies and Language

MYP 1-5

Source questions, planning essays and keeping a Personal Project journal moving in small steps.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

No Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school is confirmed in Sirkali itself, so most IGCSE requests come from students who study at a boarding or city school elsewhere, or who are preparing for such a move. These are the subjects tutors handle most, across both boards.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580 / 4MA1

Core / Extended

Number, algebra, geometry and statistics with non-calculator fluency and fully worked past papers.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Extended

Differentiation, trigonometry and coordinate geometry, a useful bridge towards IB Mathematics AA or A Level.

IGCSE Physics

Core / Extended

Forces, thermal physics, electricity and waves, with structured practice for the practical-skills paper.

IGCSE Chemistry

Core / Extended

Atomic structure, the mole, electrolysis and organic chemistry, with plenty of calculation practice.

Core / Extended

Cells, enzymes, transport, inheritance and ecology, plus diagram and extended-answer discipline.

IGCSE Combined and Co-ordinated Sciences

Core / Extended

Balanced preparation across the three sciences for students who sit the double award.

IGCSE English First and Second Language

Core / Extended

Comprehension, directed writing, summary and the speaking and listening components.

IGCSE Economics and Business Studies

Extended

Definitions, data response and short case answers written to the mark scheme.

IGCSE Computer Science

Extended

Pseudocode, logic and programming problems with steady exam-style practice.

IGCSE Tamil and Hindi

First / Second Language

Reading, composition and grammar for students who take a home or second language as a subject.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Sirkali school timetables

No tutor visits homes in Sirkali; in-person teaching is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Three online set-ups are open to you, and the right one depends on the calendar and on how many children are learning.

A regular weekly tutor

One tutor, one fixed evening, running alongside the school term and its tests.

  • Builds understanding steadily across a year
  • Parent welcome in the first session
  • Short written note after each lesson
  • Easy to pause around a temple festival or exam week

An intensive pre-exam run

A concentrated block of lessons before the November or May session, mock exams or a school transfer test.

  • Targets the topics where mock marks were lost
  • Real past papers with mark schemes
  • Timed answers marked line by line
  • Tapers off once the exams are over

Sibling or cousin pair

Two children at a similar level share one tutor and one fee.

  • Good fit for MYP and IGCSE Core
  • Lower cost per child
  • Can split into separate slots later
  • Both children get the notes

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Sirkali

01

Which IB and IGCSE schools can a Sirkali family actually reach?

  • No confirmed IB or IGCSE school inside Sirkali
  • Thanjavur, Madurai and Chennai are the realistic school locations
  • Boarding students are a large share of enquiries
  • Tutors bridge a move and then support the exam years

Within Sirkali itself we could not confirm any school authorised by the International Baccalaureate, nor any registered Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel centre. That is an honest statement of what a quick check shows, and it matches the pattern for most small delta towns, where the schools are State Board, CBSE or a few matriculation-style institutions that have since moved under the State Board umbrella.

What exists is a ladder of options further away. Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli have a few international-curriculum campuses. Madurai and Coimbatore have more. Chennai has the densest group, with several IB Diploma schools and IGCSE campuses spread along the OMR, ECR and Sriperumbudur corridors. Families who pursue them have three practical choices: board, relocate a parent, or finish school at home and move later for the Diploma.

That is the real use of IB and IGCSE tutors in Sirkali. A child preparing for a Class 9 transfer needs bridging help in Mathematics and Science, because pace and expectations differ from the State Board. A child already enrolled at a boarding school may need an extra subject specialist that the school does not have. And a returning NRI child may need a tutor who can re-ground them in Tamil Nadu life after years elsewhere.

Whichever of these describes you, location does not restrict the tutor. We search across India for someone who has taught that very syllabus, and the lesson happens over a good-quality video link.

02

State Board, CBSE, IB or IGCSE: how do they differ for a Sirkali child?

  • No syllabus is easier, they test different skills
  • TNEA and NEET planners often keep the State Board or CBSE path
  • IB and IGCSE suit families with study abroad in mind
  • Switching happens most around Class 9 and Class 11

The Tamil Nadu State Board syllabus, taught through Samacheer Kalvi textbooks, and CBSE both end in board examinations that reward accurate recall of a fixed text. The IB spreads assessment across two years of internal work and final papers, expecting students to explain, evaluate and apply. Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE sit between them: a defined syllabus examined in tiers, with questions that ask for application rather than copying.

For a Sirkali family the choice is often about the next ten years, not the next two. A student aiming for engineering through TNEA, JEE or a state medical seat usually benefits from staying close to the State Board or CBSE pattern, with focused entrance coaching. A student looking at universities in the UK, Canada, Singapore or Australia, or at liberal-arts programmes in India, can use the IB Diploma or IGCSE followed by A Levels as a smoother path.

None of the routes is closed for good. IGCSE students can enter the Diploma, and IB students can still apply for NEET or the CUET if their subjects fit the requirements in the year they apply. The table sets out what we hear most often from parents comparing the options.

If the decision is still open, a free trial lesson in Mathematics or Science is a cheap way to see how an IB-style class feels compared with the one at school.

03

What makes IB or IGCSE tuition cost more or less in Sirkali?

There is no single fee, since a Higher Level Physics student and a Core IGCSE English student need entirely different tutors. We do not publish a price list. After we understand the case, we send a rate in writing before booking, so you can weigh it against any alternative without pressure.

Several factors move the figure. Subject and level come first, because HL sciences, Analysis and Approaches Mathematics and Further Mathematics call for specialists. A tutor's track record on that exact syllabus is next, including any examining or moderation experience. Frequency matters as well: one lesson a week for a term is a very different commitment from three a week before a mock.

Because Sirkali tutoring is online, some costs drop out. Nobody pays for fuel, parking or a venue, and the geography of a small delta town does not limit the pool. Families sometimes find that this widens their choice without raising the rate.

To keep costs sensible, many Sirkali parents begin with one subject, the one that worries the child most, and add others only if the first lesson block works. Siblings or cousins at a similar level can share a tutor. The free trial and the tutor-change promise mean you are never locked into a poor match.

Online home tuition, coaching class, local tutor or self-study: what works for IB in Sirkali?

Parents in Sirkali already know the usual alternatives. A coaching class in Chidambaram or Mayiladuthurai is within reach, but those centres teach the State Board or entrance exams, not IB criteria. A local private tutor may be an excellent teacher of Samacheer Kalvi, yet may never have seen an IB internal assessment or an IGCSE mark scheme. Self-study with videos is affordable, but few children can steer themselves without feedback on their own writing.

Online one-to-one tuition fills the gap. The tutor is chosen for the syllabus, the lesson is live, and the child gets feedback on their own working that no pre-recorded video can give. For families who want the feel of home tuition in Sirkali, this is the closest honest equivalent: private, personal, at home, with a tutor who simply appears on screen instead of at the door.

There are trade-offs. Online lessons need a steady connection, a quiet room and some discipline from the child. Power cuts during the northeast monsoon are a genuine risk in the delta, so we advise a backup plan and flexible make-up lessons.

The table below compares the four routes on the points parents mention most.

Four ways to support an IB or IGCSE student in Sirkali
RouteSyllabus knowledgePersonal feedbackPractical limits
Online one-to-one tuitionChosen for the exact IB or IGCSE courseDirect, on the student's own workNeeds a reliable internet line

Self-study with videosWide but unguidedNone unless someone marks the workNeeds a highly self-directed learner
05

How does the Sirkali school year, monsoon and festival calendar shape exam preparation?

  • Power and data cuts are most likely October to December
  • Pongal week is best treated as a planned break
  • Past papers fit well in the cooler months

A Sirkali study calendar is bent by weather more than most. The northeast monsoon from October to December brings the heaviest rain to the delta, and in recent years fields and roads around the town have flooded. Power and mobile data can fail for a day or two. We therefore schedule November mock work and revision with slack and keep a standing offer of a make-up lesson.

The festival pattern is distinctive as well. Pongal in January is a four-day family event that often takes the whole house to the village and out of the study routine. Tamil New Year in April, Aadi Perukku celebrated beside the Cauvery in August, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Navaratri with its Golu displays and Deepavali all pull a child away from the desk. Karthigai Deepam and the Margazhi music season in December and January add more.

Exam sessions interact with all of this. IB candidates sit in May or November depending on the school, and many IGCSE candidates sit in May-June or October-November, with Pearson Edexcel also offering January. A student in Class 10 or 12 at a boarding school will follow that school's calendar, so we match lessons to the hostel's study period rather than ours.

A simple rule works well: front-load difficult topics in June to September, when the weather is calmer, and use December and the Pongal break for consolidation and past papers.

06

What university and career routes open up for a Sirkali student on the IB or IGCSE?

  • AIU equivalence for IB Diploma students in India
  • CUET-UG for central and many private universities
  • NEET and JEE depend on subject combination
  • UK, Canada, Singapore and Australia read IB and IGCSE natively

An IB Diploma or A Level result is read directly by universities in the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and much of Europe. IB students from Sirkali also have open doors in India: the Association of Indian Universities recognises the Diploma as equivalent to Class 12, and many Indian private universities admit IB candidates through direct applications or CUET-UG scores.

Medicine and engineering need a more careful look. NEET-UG asks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology plus English at the right level, and IB subject combinations can meet that if chosen with care. JEE Main eligibility depends on Physics, Mathematics and one more qualifying subject being taken. Tamil Nadu admissions through TNEA have their own rules for candidates outside the State Board, which change from year to year and should be read on the current notification.

Locally relevant campuses give students real alternatives. Annamalai University near Chidambaram, JIPMER in Puducherry, SASTRA in Thanjavur, NIT Tiruchirappalli and the Chennai institutions are the names families mention most. Their entry routes differ, so we suggest checking each one's current admission page early in Class 11.

Tutors do not promise admission or marks. What they can do is help a student reach the grade bands an offer requires and finish the Diploma without losing a subject to weak foundations.

07

How hard is IB Mathematics and Science, and what does tuition fix?

IB Mathematics AA and AI are not simply harder or easier versions of Class 11 and 12 Mathematics. Analysis and Approaches is algebra and calculus heavy, expects proof and is the usual choice for engineering, physics and economics. Applications and Interpretation leans on statistics, modelling and technology, and suits business, psychology and social-science paths. Choosing the wrong one at the start is a common, expensive mistake.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Higher Level add the demand of an internal assessment and a Paper 3 on options. The pattern we see from delta students is solid theory knowledge but little practice in writing structured answers, which costs marks on command terms like discuss, evaluate and justify. Tutors train that habit in short written drills after each lesson.

Mathematics tuition focuses on calculator skills and on layout. The TI-84 or Casio models allowed in IB papers can save minutes, but only when the student has used them regularly. Tutors set short technology exercises and then mix them into past-paper sections.

For Science, the tutor looks at three things in turn: concept gaps, quantitative slips, and the wording of long answers. Lessons usually alternate between a new topic and a timed question set, which keeps theory and exam technique moving together.

08

IGCSE Core or Extended: how should a Sirkali student choose subjects and tier?

Core papers cap the grade at C, while Extended papers allow A* to G, so the tier decision affects the ceiling a child can reach. Students who are comfortable in Class 9 Mathematics and Science at a State Board or CBSE school are often capable of Extended, as long as they build up algebra and extended writing. Core is a sensible start for a child who needs confidence and can switch up after the first term if the school allows.

Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel differ in detail. Cambridge IGCSE codes such as 0580 for Mathematics are widely used in India, with May-June and October-November sessions. Pearson Edexcel's 4MA1 adds a January series. A tutor who has taught the specific board will know the formula sheets, command words and paper structure, which saves a lot of wasted revision.

Subject choice is the other half. Most schools ask for English, a language, Mathematics and two or three sciences or humanities. Tamil or Hindi is a quiet scoring opportunity for native speakers, and Computer Science rewards logical thinkers. Combined Science covers three disciplines with less depth, and can lower the ceiling for students who later want IB Chemistry or Physics HL.

We encourage parents to look at where the student wants to go after Class 10. If an IB Diploma is the target, Extended Mathematics and separate sciences leave the door wide open.

Can tutors help with IAs, the Extended Essay or TOK?

Yes in guidance, no in authorship. IB rules require that Internal Assessments, the Extended Essay and the Theory of Knowledge essay are the candidate's own work. Our tutors discuss, question and explain, but they do not write, edit sentence by sentence or supply data. A school may also have its own academic honesty policy, and we follow whichever is stricter.

What help looks like in practice: for a Chemistry IA, a tutor can talk through how to turn a curiosity into a researchable question, what a fair test needs and how uncertainty is handled. For the Extended Essay, a tutor may explain the assessment criteria, recommend how to build an outline and read the supervisor's comments with the student. For TOK, tutors act as a discussion partner for knowledge questions.

Sirkali students are unlikely to have a school librarian or lab technician nearby, so a tutor can also direct them towards open access journals and datasets and talk about safe experiments they can do with household materials.

Where we tutor

Sirkali and the surrounding delta: where families ask about IB and IGCSE tuition

Every lesson is online, so your address never narrows the choice of tutor. We still plan around local life, and these are the pockets of Sirkali and its neighbourhood where we most often hear from parents.

Sattainathar temple and the car streets

The old core of town, busy at festival times; families here mostly follow State Board schools and ask about English and Mathematics foundations before an IB move.

Railway station and bus stand belt

The practical hub for parents who commute to Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai or Chennai for work; early evenings are noisy, so we suggest a quiet room for lessons.

Vaitheeswaran Koil

A temple village a few kilometres out with many families in the pilgrim economy; students often learn in Tamil at home and need English-medium confidence.

Thiruvenkadu

A small village near Sirkali with agricultural households; connectivity can vary, so a wired or fixed broadband line is worth having.

Kollidam and the river belt

North of town beside the Coleroon, where fields and floodplain shape the year; heavy rain can interrupt power and internet, so we keep make-up slots flexible.

Poompuhar and the coast

The historic port site on the Bay of Bengal, where cyclone alerts and coastal weather sometimes cancel a school day.

Tharangambadi

The former Danish settlement of Tranquebar, with a small community of heritage-minded and returning families interested in international study.

Chidambaram and Annamalai Nagar

The nearest university town, home to families linked to Annamalai University; some parents here weigh an IB school in a bigger city.

Mayiladuthurai

The district headquarters about twenty kilometres south, with government employees and traders who regularly take Chennai-bound trains.

Chennai, Coimbatore and Nilgiris boarding families

Many Sirkali children study in these cities or in boarding campuses; lessons fit their hostel timetables and home visits during holidays.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Sirkali

Inside Sirkali: limited local choice

We could not confirm an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school within Sirkali. Local classrooms follow the Tamil Nadu State Board and CBSE, so students who want an international qualification have to move or board, and that is when subject tutoring is most useful.

    Nearby: Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli

Thanjavur is roughly two hours away, and it has a small number of international-curriculum options reached by road or rail through Mayiladuthurai and Kumbakonam.

    • Yagappa International School, Sengipatti

    Nearby: Madurai

Further south, Madurai has several IB and Cambridge campuses that attract boarders from across the delta districts.

    • Velammal Global School
    • Vikaasa World School

    Nearby: Chennai

About five hours by road or an overnight train, Chennai holds the largest cluster of IB and IGCSE schools in Tamil Nadu, and many Sirkali families keep a relative there.

    • APL Global School
    • Gateway International School

The schools named below are in other cities and are shown only so you know what exists within reach of Sirkali. IB Gram is independent, has no connection to any school and cannot speak for admissions. Please confirm current authorisation on the IB and Cambridge websites and with each school before you apply.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Sirkali: your questions answered

Are there IB or IGCSE tutors in Sirkali?+

Yes, online. Our tutors are based across India and teach live, one to one, over video in IST. They do not visit Sirkali in person, because in-person lessons run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. You describe the programme and subject, and we match a tutor who has taught that course, so the student gets private lessons at home without anyone travelling.

Do you offer home tuition in Sirkali?+

We offer online home tuition, meaning the student learns at home on a laptop. No tutor will arrive at your door in Sirkali, since home visits are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Many parents find the online version just as personal: the tutor sees the student's written work through the camera, writes on a shared board and sends notes afterwards.

Is there an IB school in Sirkali?+

We could not confirm one. Local schools follow the Tamil Nadu State Board or CBSE, and international-curriculum campuses are in cities such as Thanjavur, Madurai and Chennai. Please verify any school's status on the IB or Cambridge websites. If your child studies at one of those schools or plans to, tutoring works the same way from Sirkali.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Sirkali?+

It depends on subject, level, tutor experience and how many lessons a week. We publish no price list. After we hear about your child, we send a rate in writing before you book. Higher Level sciences and IB Mathematics AA usually cost more than MYP or IGCSE Core, and siblings who share a lesson pay less each.

Which IB subjects are most in demand from Sirkali students?+

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology lead the requests, followed by Economics, Business Management and English. Families that ask about Tamil or Hindi usually want accuracy in writing. The pattern reflects students who are strong on theory from State Board schooling and need help with IB-style structured answers and internal assessment planning.

My child is in a State Board school in Sirkali. Can they move to IGCSE or IB later?+

Yes, and many do around Class 9 or Class 11. The usual gaps are in extended written answers, in Mathematics beyond the textbook pattern and in English fluency. A tutor can start closing these months before the move. The new school will tell you its entry requirements, and we can help the student prepare for any entrance test.

Can you help with the IB Extended Essay or Internal Assessment?+

We coach, but we never write or edit the assessed work. A tutor can discuss a research question, explain the criteria and respond to your child's ideas. The student produces every sentence and every data point. This keeps the work valid under IB rules and also builds the skills the final examinations test.

What internet speed do online lessons need?+

A stable connection matters more than raw speed. A broadband or fibre line with at least a few Mbps for upload is usually enough for video and a shared whiteboard. Mobile data can work if the signal is steady. Because delta storms can interrupt service, keep a mobile hotspot as a backup and tell us if a lesson is lost, as we reschedule it.

What happens during the northeast monsoon or a power cut?+

We reschedule. If a lesson is lost to heavy rain, a power cut or a cyclone warning, the tutor and family agree another slot, usually within the same week. Students who live in low-lying areas near the Kollidam or the coast may prefer lessons earlier in the day. Tell us about patterns you know, and we plan around them.

Which IGCSE boards do your tutors cover?+

Both Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel. The papers, codes and session dates differ, so we match tutors to the board your school uses. For example, Cambridge Mathematics 0580 and Edexcel 4MA1 have different paper structures. Tell us the board and tier on your child's timetable or report card, and we find a tutor who has taught it.

    What time are lessons held?+

Weekday evenings and weekends are the most popular, because they come after school and avoid the daytime heat. Early mornings also work for some boarders. Our tutors work in IST, so there is no time-zone problem. If your child attends a hostel school, we match the hostel's study hours and holiday dates rather than a fixed pattern.

Can a younger child on the IB PYP get tuition?+

Yes. PYP tutoring for Sirkali children concentrates on English reading, spoken confidence and number sense, using short, playful sessions of about thirty to forty-five minutes. Parents are encouraged to sit in. Tutors do not do homework for the child; they build habits and vocabulary that make school units of inquiry easier to follow.

Do you offer a trial lesson?+

Yes, a free trial lesson comes before any commitment. It gives the tutor a look at the student's level and gives the family a feel for the teaching style. Afterwards we send a short written note with suggested next steps. If the match is not right, we offer another tutor, and you pay nothing for the trial.

Can I speak to someone in Tamil?+

Our team coordinates in English and Hindi, and we will try to arrange a tutor who can explain a point in Tamil if a younger child needs it, though IB and IGCSE examinations are in English. For lessons themselves, the tutor will usually teach in English and slow down or rephrase whenever the student is confused by a term.

Will online tuition help with practical sciences?+

It helps with the thinking around practicals, not the hands-on work. Tutors discuss method, variables, uncertainty and write-up, and can help interpret data the school's lab produced. They cannot supervise a real experiment. Where a school lab is limited, tutors may suggest safe household investigations that suit a good internal assessment.

    How do I get started?+

Message us on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115 or write to support@ibgram.com with your child's programme, subjects, school and the help needed. We reply with a suggested tutor and trial time. There is no registration fee, and we confirm the rate in writing before the first paid lesson.
