IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Silvassa

Executives and engineers in Silvassa's industrial estates often ask for home tuition for an IB or IGCSE child, and the workable answer is a live one-to-one lesson on a laptop at home, with a tutor who has taught that exact paper. IB Gram tutors do not call at Silvassa houses; home visits are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. The territory's district headquarters has CBSE schools but, as far as we can confirm, no IB or Cambridge classroom, so the syllabus must come to the child through a screen.

  • Each tutor is picked for the syllabus code, level and board your child is entered for, not for a loose IB or IGCSE label
  • Every lesson runs over live video; tutors never come to a house in the territory
  • The first lesson is a complete, free trial and nothing needs signing
  • IB Gram has no tie with any school, exam board or university mentioned here

IB & IGCSE in Silvassa

Why working families in Silvassa ask about IB and IGCSE

Silvassa spent almost two centuries under Portuguese influence, from the late eighteenth century until 1954, and entered the Indian Union in 1961. It now serves as the headquarters of Dadra and Nagar Haveli district inside the union territory that also takes in Daman and Diu. About ninety-eight thousand people live in the town proper. Around it, factories in Amli, Masat, Naroli and Kilvani draw a much larger working population, and the tax advantages offered to manufacturers explain why so many firms settled here.

That industrial pull brings an unusual mix of households. Plant heads, finance managers, quality engineers and consultants arrive from Pune, Mumbai, Chennai or overseas, often with a child already partway through an IGCSE or IB course. Beside them live long-established Gujarati and Marathi trading and business families, and tribal communities whose roots in the hills go back far longer than any estate. Most of the nine schools we checked follow CBSE, and none of them could be confirmed as offering the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE.

Three doors are open to a family in this position. The child can move onto CBSE and give up a year of continuity, or board in Mumbai, Thane or Surat, which is a heavy emotional and financial step, or keep studying the international syllabus at home with a tutor standing in for the absent classroom. Many parents settle on the last option, at least until a transfer or a hostel place is decided.

Nothing on this page is connected with any school, exam board or university mentioned. Tutors teach, set work and mark honestly, and they never write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays or any piece of assessed work that carries a student's name.

At a glance

  • IB lessons from PYP to the Diploma for a town with no IB school
  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, arranged by syllabus code and tier
  • Private video lessons in Indian Standard Time
  • A short written note after each lesson and a plan once the trial ends
  • No tutor visits in Silvassa; visits to homes apply just to Gurugram and some parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Silvassa school years

We found no school in Silvassa running any of the four IB programmes. Families meet them sideways, through a company transfer, a boarding place in Mumbai or Surat, or a decision to start IGCSE in Grade 9. What follows describes each stage as seen from the industrial estates.

PYPFrom age 3 up to 12

IB Primary Years Programme

A class works through transdisciplinary themes, not timetabled subjects, and the final year closes with a pupil-led Exhibition. No outside examiner grades any of it, which keeps support light: comfortable reading, quick mental sums and curiosity that can be turned into a real question.

PYP questions here usually come from transferred managers and engineers who do not want a young child's inquiry habits to lapse during the posting.

MYPFrom age 11 up to 16

IB Middle Years Programme

Teachers award MYP grades against four published criteria per subject, and the last year ends with the Personal Project. The common loss is not ignorance but a response aimed slightly off the criterion being assessed.

The territory has no MYP school, so children follow it at a school in another city or treat it as a warm-up for IGCSE.

DPClasses 11 and 12, aged 16 to 19

IB Diploma Programme

A Diploma candidate studies six courses, three of them at Higher Level, plus TOK, a 4,000-word Extended Essay and creativity, activity and service. Most subjects bank a share of the grade from coursework marked at school, with the written examinations arriving in the May session.

Diploma students linked to Silvassa generally board in Mumbai, Thane or Surat, or stay with relatives in one of them. Their lesson slots therefore bend to that school's term dates, never to the territory's.

CPClasses 11 and 12, aged 16 to 19

IB Career-related Programme

The CP pairs at least two Diploma courses with a vocational study, a reflective project and personal and professional skills. Indian schools rarely run it, yet its Diploma courses are as demanding as in the full Diploma.

Enquiries about the CP from Silvassa are uncommon. Should one come, our teaching goes to the Diploma courses the student has actually chosen.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Students from CBSE classrooms arrive well drilled and quick at calculation. What surprises them is how often IB and IGCSE examiners ask for a justified choice, an explained method or a judgement, so lessons here concentrate on those habits more than on extra content.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, algebra, calculus and proof carry this course. HL candidates also meet unfamiliar problems in a third paper, so we practise how to open a question that looks new.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Probability, statistics and modelling lead the syllabus. Rejection rates or output counts gathered on a shop floor can supply honest data for the Exploration.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics from Class 12 helps at the start. Handling uncertainty, interpreting graphs and planning a fair test are what separate good Investigation marks from weak ones.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Plastics and polymers, the staple of local factories, bring organic chemistry down to earth. Candidates still drop marks on curly-arrow mechanisms and on explanations that stop halfway.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Learning the terms is the easy half. Fitting an answer to its command word, and backing a conclusion with a statistical test, take longer.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Examiners reward a neat diagram linked to a current event, for instance a GST revision or a swing in polymer prices, over paragraphs of definitions. HL also sits a quantitative paper.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Marks follow answers that stay with the company named in the case study. The internal project may use a cooperative estate firm, whether packaging, textiles or freight.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Students raised on Gujarati or Hindi frequently read with great sensitivity, then need drilling to produce a timed English commentary on a passage they have not seen.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Writing algorithms on paper and building the program for the internal assessment are different abilities, so each gets its own practice.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Research studies have to be named correctly, applied precisely and carried through an argument that runs the length of an essay.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

The Daman Ganga, effluent from the estates, forest-dependent tribal communities and plastic waste hand students local evidence for asking how well a system absorbs stress.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Named places and measured figures lift an answer beyond generalities. Fieldwork, in turn, must follow a procedure someone else could repeat.

IB History

HL / SL

Portuguese and Maratha-era Silvassa give the subject colourful local examples. Paper 1 source analysis and Paper 2 extended argument still call for different kinds of practice.

IB Gujarati A / Hindi B

HL / SL

A Gujarati-speaking home is a real advantage on the literature course. Hindi B instead depends on reading unfamiliar texts and talking without hesitation.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Spoken rehearsal beats note-taking here. Argue a prescribed title from the opposing side first, and only then start writing.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Before planning anything for IGCSE, settle the board, the syllabus code and the tier, since the tier caps the highest grade available. Cambridge entries are Core or Extended and Edexcel entries Foundation or Higher. The series matters as well: Cambridge examines in May-June and October-November, Edexcel in January and the summer.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended papers penalise skipped steps; clear working still collects method marks after a slip in arithmetic.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Pulls calculus, vectors and trigonometric identities into Grade 10, which eases the jump into IB Analysis and Approaches.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Topics overlap heavily with the Cambridge course, though Edexcel phrases its questions differently, so genuine Edexcel past papers are the right material.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Quick equation rearrangement and the alternative-to-practical paper are rehearsed in short, repeated, separate drills.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Moles, reaction rates and organic families are spread across the year next to the practical-skills paper, avoiding a last-minute scramble.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Genetics and human body systems come back as long-answer questions, where the structure of a reply matters nearly as much as recall.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Correct diagrams are the fastest marks to win, while evaluation questions decide who reaches the top grades.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Trace tables make sense once a student has typed and run actual Python, which is why each topic here comes with hands-on coding.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Practising timed responses to new passages trains summary and directed writing far more than learning phrases by heart.

IGCSE Hindi and Gujarati as a second language

Grade 9-10

Reading aloud and speaking with a tutor every week is what these language papers reward.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Silvassa school timetables

Every plan is a private, live class on Indian Standard Time with a tutor picked for the syllabus code. Only the rhythm changes between plans. Nobody travels to Silvassa; classroom-style visits to a family's house are a Gurugram and Delhi NCR service alone.

Weekly one-to-one lesson on video

One hour fixed to the same weekday, with a digital whiteboard, the child's own notebook and a pile of past papers. Most families begin here, because a regular rhythm carries a child through the whole academic year.

  • Tutors from across India, matched to the course
  • Works for DP, MYP, Cambridge and Edexcel
  • Solutions written out on screen as they happen
  • One tutor for the whole term

Lighter plan with written feedback

A brief weekly session, a written summary after it and a longer monthly check-in. It suits younger pupils, and parents who prefer regular reports to a heavy schedule.

  • A brief summary after each session
  • Targets revisited every month
  • Common for PYP and early MYP
  • Extra sessions before tests

Exam-season intensive

Multiple sessions each week in the run-up to mocks or board papers, centred on timed questions that are marked quickly.

  • Practice papers marked to the current scheme
  • Returned within two days
  • Ideal to start four weeks out
  • Scheduled around Navratri and Diwali

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Silvassa

01

Does Silvassa have an IB or IGCSE school, and who needs a tutor?

  • No IB or IGCSE school confirmed in Silvassa
  • Company postings and relocations create most demand
  • Surat, Thane and Mumbai are the nearest real options
  • Tutors are matched by syllabus, not by postcode

Not one that we could verify. The directory we consulted lists nine schools in Silvassa, all on the CBSE pattern, among them St. Xavier's School at Tokarkhada, Kendriya Vidyalaya, BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir at Athal and Alok Public School at Saily. A few websites claim the town offers international curricula but never name an institution. We refuse to call any school local on that basis, since recommending something unconfirmed would waste your time.

Even so, the need is genuine. Companies in the estates recruit plant heads, finance managers and process engineers from all over India and the world, and a child's education cannot be paused for a posting. Families whose son or daughter began IGCSE or the Diploma in Pune, Bengaluru or Singapore generally want that thread preserved instead of being pushed into a different board in Grade 10.

A second group is looking ahead. A student expecting to board in Mumbai or Surat for the Diploma needs mathematics and English at the right level before sitting an admission test. A third group is homegrown, often from trade or manufacturing households, who prize a qualification that travels abroad but would rather not send a thirteen-year-old to a hostel.

Because no nearby school anchors the search, we match purely on syllabus. A student taking IB Chemistry HL has no specialist in town, yet an online tutor from Pune or Bengaluru who taught that very course last year can begin within the week.

02

How different is CBSE from IB and IGCSE for a student in Silvassa?

  • Choosing a method counts for more than memorising one
  • Coursework builds up over months
  • Cover the new topics first and the familiar ones afterwards
  • Give exam English a regular slot

Different enough to need planning. CBSE rewards complete, well-ordered answers drawn from a prescribed textbook, and teachers in the territory prepare children carefully for that. IB and IGCSE papers more often present a situation the student has not seen and ask which approach applies and why. The skill moves from reproducing an answer to selecting one.

Preparation outside the exam hall also looks unlike CBSE. A practical file under that board records what was done, whereas an IB Internal Assessment or an IGCSE coursework task is an independent investigation marked against published descriptors, in some subjects carrying a fifth to a third of the grade. Sustaining and redrafting a piece of work over months is something a tutor can coach.

Depth varies by level. Higher Level IB mathematics and science run past Class 12 in places, IGCSE Extended sits slightly above Class 10, and Core sits below it. A child who transfers in Grade 9 or Class 11 benefits from a precise list of what is new rather than a blanket revision.

Language also needs deliberate time. A student comfortable in Gujarati or Hindi may understand a concept completely and still write it slowly in exam English, so sentence frames, vocabulary banks and timed writing are woven into each lesson.

03

What shapes the fee for IB or IGCSE lessons in Silvassa?

  • Course level, subject, lesson length and tutor background set the price
  • No travel cost for Silvassa students
  • A written quotation arrives before the trial
  • Pause or switch tutor whenever you need

Four things move the rate: how advanced the course is, which subject it is, how long and how often the lessons run, and how recently the tutor taught the paper in question. An HL science class costs more than Grade 7 maths. You receive a written quotation before the trial is booked, never after.

Distance adds nothing. Because lessons are online, a tutor in Delhi and a tutor in Chennai charge a Silvassa family on the same footing, and nobody pays for a taxi to Vapi or a train ticket to Surat.

The value sits inside the lesson. A tutor who understands how Cambridge words a practical question, or how an IB moderator marks an Exploration, can spare weeks of guesswork. Ask what each session will cover and how progress will be reported back to you.

You are never tied in. Pause for the wettest monsoon weeks, Navratri, Diwali or a transfer, and change tutors if the first match is wrong.

04

Silvassa coaching, a private tutor, self-study or online: what works?

  • Local coaching targets CBSE, JEE, NEET and CUET
  • Teachers with recent IB or IGCSE experience are scarce nearby
  • Working alone leaves writing unread
  • Online specialists cover both gaps

Coaching in and around Silvassa and Vapi is aimed at CBSE and Gujarat board students, with batches for JEE, NEET and CUET. Nothing exists for IGCSE Chemistry or IB Economics, and the daily run across the border between territory and state is a poor use of a school evening.

Private tutors are dependable on ordinary school subjects. Hardly any have taught a live IB or IGCSE specification, and the pupil numbers are too thin for anyone to specialise. Encouragement is plentiful; knowledge of the examiner's mark scheme is not.

Self-study can suit a determined child working on a subject with a lot of published material, and IGCSE Mathematics papers are everywhere. It falters wherever a second reader matters, such as a lab write-up, an essay plan or a six-mark explanation. Mistakes that nobody catches harden into habits.

One-to-one online sessions bring specialist knowledge and personal attention on a fixed weekly slot, with no travelling. The household needs a laptop, headphones and a connection that holds for an hour.

05

How do the monsoon, Navratri and factory shifts affect a study plan?

  • Keep a mobile hotspot ready for monsoon evenings
  • Fit lessons around factory shift changes
  • Diploma papers arrive in May and retakes in November
  • CBSE exam weeks can crowd out mocks

This stretch of the Konkan-Gujarat belt takes some of the heaviest rain in the country, and Silvassa lies among forested hills. July and August can bring flooded lanes, fallen power lines and patchy internet. A charged laptop, a mobile hotspot and a spare weekly slot are simple precautions.

Navratri fills nine autumn evenings with garba across the territory, schools pause around Diwali, and Uttarayan in January fills the sky with kites. Many Gujarati families also travel at Diwali. A sensible plan marks these dates, with light revision beforehand and a catch-up lesson after.

Industrial life leaves its own mark. Many parents work rotating shifts, and buses and traffic snarl at shift change, so lesson times work better when built around the household rather than the clock. Weekend mornings are popular where one parent works nights.

Diploma candidates sit their main papers in May and learn results in July, with retakes in November. Cambridge IGCSE sittings fall in May-June and October-November, and Edexcel adds a January series. CBSE board papers in February and March can collide with mocks, so students handling both should map the calendar early.

06

Where can IB or IGCSE lead after school in Silvassa?

  • Mumbai, Pune, Surat and Vadodara are the usual Indian targets
  • An AIU letter is often required for Indian degrees
  • JEE, NEET and CUET rules should be read from the official notice
  • Overseas offers rest on predicted grades

Most graduates of these courses from the territory look south and east first. Mumbai, Pune, Surat and Vadodara hold engineering, medical, management and law institutions such as ICT Mumbai, SVNIT Surat and the Maharaja Sayajirao University, and the region's factories offer a large private job market. Union territory colleges are few. Whichever place a student targets, its admission office writes its own rules for IB and IGCSE candidates, so read them early.

For Indian degrees, a foreign-board certificate generally travels with an equivalence letter issued by the Association of Indian Universities. CUET-UG accepts applicants from many boards yet examines particular subject combinations, while JEE and NEET each publish eligibility terms that change from year to year. Verify those at source before your child locks in subjects.

Abroad, British, Canadian, Australian and American universities treat IB points and IGCSE grades as proof that a student is ready. A UK conditional offer normally states a points total together with minimum scores in Higher Level subjects, and it is built on teacher-predicted grades from the last year, which makes the early Diploma months weightier than parents tend to assume.

Industrial postings add urgency to the calendar. A subject dropped at fourteen can shut an engineering door years afterwards, and a mid-course transfer in Class 11 can derail a Diploma. Our role is academic support alone; applications belong with the university or examining body.

07

Which IB Maths route and which sciences suit a Silvassa student?

  • AA points towards calculus, proof and engineering
  • AI points towards data, statistics and modelling
  • Experiment design is the usual physics weak spot
  • Bring a marked paper to the first lesson

Think of the two IB Maths courses as two different careers in miniature. Analysis and Approaches follows algebra, functions, calculus and proof towards engineering and physics; its Higher Level third paper hands over problems with no familiar template. Applications and Interpretation leans on data, modelling and calculators or software, and fits students bound for economics, life sciences or management.

A student arriving from Class 12 physics usually calculates well but has seldom been asked to quantify uncertainty, analyse a graph or plan an experiment, and those are exactly the points the Investigation rewards. Reviewing the marking guidance early lets a tutor steer the project before it wanders.

Chemistry tends to start smoothly with moles and equilibrium and then slow down at mechanisms and energy cycles. Biology candidates seldom lack vocabulary; what they lack is the habit of shaping each answer around the command word in the question.

Since no classroom in town teaches these papers, the tutor effectively becomes the teacher. For that reason we request the textbook, any notes and a recently marked script before lesson one, so that the first hour begins with evidence instead of guesses.

08

Core or Extended: which IGCSE tier is right for a Silvassa child?

  • Core caps the achievable grade
  • Test with a few Extended questions at home
  • Additional Mathematics suits budding engineers
  • A single diagnostic lesson often settles it

The tier decides the ceiling. A Core entry cannot earn the top grades, an Extended entry can. At fourteen the difference seems small, but it echoes later: Diploma teachers assume Extended-level groundwork before they start Higher Level mathematics or the sciences.

A quick test works at the kitchen table. Choose a handful of Extended questions from a past paper and hand them over without hints. A sound method spoiled by a sign slip points to Extended. A blank stare before the first line suggests Core for that subject, at least for now.

Subjects deserve the same care. A common package is English, Mathematics, two sciences and a language or humanities option, plus Additional Mathematics for the future engineer. A child working from home has no school week to impose order, so a very long subject list can swamp the timetable.

No family in town can lean on a neighbour's experience of tiers, which is why one diagnostic session with a tutor who knows both is the shortest route to a decision. Hearing a child reason aloud reveals more than a score does.

09

How does IB Gram pick a tutor for a family in Silvassa?

  • A first chat on board, subject, level and concerns
  • A shortlist built on syllabus experience
  • Trial first, commitment second
  • A replacement tutor if the match is poor

A conversation comes first. We want the board, subject and level, a sense of recent marks, the date of the next paper and, above all, the actual worry, whether that is a single chapter, an internal assessment, the mocks or a school move.

After that we examine each candidate's credentials, the last time they taught the very course in question, and how they respond to a weak coursework draft. No school in town anchors the shortlist, so the deciding factors are syllabus fit and a timetable that works in IST.

Join the trial for its opening twenty minutes. A good tutor talks plainly, asks short questions, leaves room for the answer and treats an error as useful information. If that is what you see, a one-page plan for the coming month follows; if not, we thank the tutor and look again.

Should the pairing not click, we change the tutor without charge and without an awkward discussion.

Where we tutor

Silvassa and the places around it that our online lessons reach

Online teaching needs only a laptop and a dependable connection, so treat this list as local background rather than a service map. It records where families live, what stands close by and which neighbouring towns they look towards. A few names belong to settlements next door and not to Silvassa city.

Silvassa city centre and Naroli road

The administrative core and its busy roads, where government staff and trading families live near the older schools.

Tokarkhada

A residential area with Kendriya Vidyalaya and other schools, home to central-government staff and long-settled families.

Amli industrial area

The big estate near the city, with quarters and flats for managers and engineers who moved from Mumbai, Pune or abroad.

Masat and Kharadpada

Industrial and residential belts along the Daman Ganga corridor, mixing plant workers with professionals.

Vanganga Lake and the Silvassa gardens

The leisure side of town, a park and lake much used for evening walks and weekend outings.

Sili, Athal and Saily

Fast-growing suburbs and villages with newer schools, flats and a mixed Gujarati, Marathi and Hindi population.

Vapi

The Gujarat industrial town about sixteen kilometres away, with the nearest railway station and a larger market.

Daman

The coastal sister territory about thirty kilometres away, where Portuguese heritage and tourism meet industry.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Silvassa

Silvassa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli

Local schools follow CBSE. We found no confirmed IB or IGCSE teaching, so online tutoring supplies the specialist syllabus.

    Nearby: Surat

About 130 kilometres away, Surat has confirmed IB and Cambridge schools, many boarding-led, so the student is away during term.

    • Fountainhead School
    • P. P. Savani Cambridge International School
    • Aarth Universal School

    Nearby: Mumbai

About 160 kilometres away, Mumbai has the widest choice of IB and Cambridge schools in the region. Families who relocate or send a child to board usually look here.

    • American School of Bombay
    • JBCN International School
    • Oberoi International School

    Nearby: Thane

On the northern edge of Mumbai, a handful of international schools serve commuter families; admission is planned a year ahead.

    • C.P. Goenka International School, Thane
    • Podar International School, Thane

No school in Silvassa could be confirmed as teaching the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE; all nine schools in the directory we checked follow CBSE. The Mumbai, Thane and Surat schools below describe where some families look. IB Gram is independent of all of them and holds no agreement, referral fee or endorsement relating to any school, the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge or Pearson.

    How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

    1. 01

      Share the basics

Tell us the programme or board, subject and level, recent marks and which evenings are free at home in Silvassa.

    2. 02

      Look through a shortlist

With no IB school in the territory, profiles come from across India and are picked for recent teaching of your child's paper.

    3. 03

      Sit a trial

A real syllabus topic taught live. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

    4. 04

      Settle the first month

Topic order, the weekday and the format of progress notes are agreed in writing.

    5. 05

      Continue and review

Sessions go on weekly, the plan is checked every few weeks, and a different tutor can take over if that suits your child.

    Why families choose us

What Silvassa parents tell us matters most

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Silvassa: your questions answered

How can I find an IB tutor in Silvassa?+

Send us the subject, the level and the exam sitting your child is aiming for. We then look for someone who has taught that exact course recently and arrange a free trial. With no confirmed IB school in Silvassa, the search covers all of India, and every session runs on video.

Is IGCSE help available in Silvassa for both Cambridge and Edexcel?+

Yes, for both boards, delivered online. Before proposing anyone we establish the board, paper code and tier, for example Cambridge 0580 Extended or Edexcel 4MA1 Higher, so we know which past papers your child should be practising.

Will a tutor come to our house in Silvassa?+

No. Teachers going to a family's house is a Gurugram and Delhi NCR arrangement only. For a Silvassa child, home tuition means a live, private class over a laptop, with tutor and student working on one shared digital whiteboard.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Silvassa?+

The rate follows the course level, the subject, how long and how often sessions run, and how recently the tutor taught that paper. No rate card is published, but a written quotation reaches you before the trial is booked, and carrying on afterwards involves no long commitment.

Which schools in Silvassa teach IB or IGCSE?+

None that we could confirm. Every one of the nine schools in the directory we checked follows CBSE. Families wanting an IB or Cambridge classroom look towards Surat, Thane or Mumbai, and use online tutoring to prepare, to bridge the distance or to support a boarder who is home.

Is the trial lesson really free?+

Yes. The tutor teaches a genuine topic from the syllabus, and the decision is yours afterwards. If you agree, a month-one plan follows; if you decline, nothing more happens.

Can a tutor help with an IB Internal Assessment?+

A tutor can explain what a marking criterion wants in everyday language, talk through a research question that is small enough to test, check an experimental method and read a draft the student wrote alone. They cannot write or polish assessed text, which the IB treats as malpractice.

Which Diploma subjects do your tutors cover?+

Coverage includes Maths AA and AI at both levels, the three sciences, Economics, Business Management, English A, Computer Science, Psychology, Geography, History and Gujarati or Hindi, plus Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay guidance. A rarer subject has a smaller pool of tutors, but we still search.

Do you take younger children on MYP and PYP?+

Yes. MYP students usually need practice answering to the published criteria and choosing a Personal Project they can complete. PYP children take short, frequent lessons built around reading aloud, number patterns and asking good questions.

Is a screen as good as a person in the room?+

For many Silvassa families it works better. The right specialist for your paper may live in another state, while a local tutor would face a long commute. A shared whiteboard, a recording to revisit and a steady connection deliver most of what a visit would.

    How do you vet tutors?+

Degrees and certificates are checked first. We then ask when the person last taught the paper your child is sitting, and how they would rescue a stalled coursework draft. Recent teaching of today's specification outweighs a longer career that predates it, and the trial lets you judge for yourself.

    When should lessons start?+

Ideally at the start of the course: Grade 9 for IGCSE and Class 11 for the Diploma. A late start is not wasted, because sessions aimed at the highest-weighted topics can still reshape technique within the last two months.

My child studies in a CBSE school in Silvassa. Can they move to IGCSE or IB?+

Many children make this switch happily. Maths is rarely the obstacle; the slower parts are decoding English exam wording, learning what command verbs demand, and keeping a long coursework project alive for months. A bridging course in the holiday before Grade 9 or Class 11 makes the first term calmer.

Which lesson times suit Silvassa families?+

Weekday evenings and weekend mornings suit most students. We plan around factory shift changes, Navratri, Diwali, the wettest monsoon weeks and board exam dates, and a session can move if weather or a power cut threatens the connection.

What if the tutor does not suit my child?+

Tell us and we find another. Feedback exists to expose a mismatch early, nothing ties you to the arrangement, and stopping altogether costs nothing.

Is IB Gram connected to any school or exam board?+

No. IB Gram is an independent service with no agreement involving a school in Silvassa, Surat, Thane or Mumbai, or with the IB, Cambridge or Pearson. Schools are named only to describe what they teach, and tutors follow whichever syllabus your child's school or exam centre has chosen.
