IB and IGCSE Tutors and Private Home Tuition in Shrigonda

Private tuition from home for Shrigonda students on the IB or IGCSE: a live lesson, one child and one tutor, delivered over video from India. Shrigonda sits in the Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) district sugar belt, a long drive from the international schools of Pune, so a tutor who has taught the syllabus before arrives on screen rather than on the highway.

  • Tutors who have taught the precise IB subject or IGCSE paper code before
  • Lessons for Shrigonda are online only; in-person tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A written note after each class, and a replacement tutor if the match is off
  • A free trial class, then a written rate before you decide

IB & IGCSE in Shrigonda

Shrigonda, Ahilyanagar district: IB and IGCSE learning without leaving home

Shrigonda is a tehsil town in the south of Ahilyanagar district, the district many people still know as Ahmednagar. It lies in farming country shaped by the Bhima and Ghod rivers and the Kukadi canal system, and sugar cooperatives, cane farms and dairy work employ a large share of the families. The town is a market for the surrounding villages, with roads towards Daund, Karjat and Ahmednagar city.

Parents here usually come to IB or IGCSE for a specific reason. A child may have a seat at an international school in Pune, a brother or sister may already study abroad, or a family business may want a graduate who can work in English across borders. Whatever the reason, the question is the same: how does a student learn an unfamiliar curriculum when the nearest classroom is a long way off?

We could not confirm any school in Shrigonda that teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, and we name none. Local schools follow the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE. IB Gram therefore teaches Shrigonda students online, in IST, with tutors who live elsewhere in India. Nobody travels to Shrigonda, because in-person tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

We are an independent service with no link to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school on this page. Tutors explain, correct and coach; they never write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or coursework for a student.

At a glance

  • IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, with Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE
  • Live, one-to-one lessons in English, with Marathi explanation if it helps
  • A free trial class before any fee is mentioned
  • No home visits in Shrigonda, as they run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Shrigonda school years

In Shrigonda an international programme is rarely something a child meets at the next desk. It arrives through a plan, such as a transfer to Pune, a planned boarding place or a self-managed route through private candidacy, and so each stage below is described as tutors actually use it.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

Children explore a theme for several weeks, ask their own questions and present what they found. Nobody sits a state-style exam. A tutor for this age builds the quiet skills underneath: reading with expression, tidy number work, and the confidence to say what they think in a full sentence.

A Shrigonda family usually arranges PYP support ahead of an admission in Pune or after a return from abroad, and sessions stay short and playful.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Each subject is marked against criteria, from knowing and understanding to reflecting on impact. Projects and tasks sit beside tests. A child from a Marathi-medium classroom often knows the content well and has had little practice writing an investigation or a reflection in English.

For a student from Shrigonda moving into MYP, we put early effort into scientific method, source-based humanities answers and English fluency in writing.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Students take six subjects, three of them at Higher Level, and add the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS. Scores add up to 45 at most, and exams sit in May or November, so internal assessments must be underway many months earlier.

Diploma students from the Shrigonda area typically attend a Pune school as boarders, and use online lessons on weekends and in the long breaks at home.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

CP blends two or more Diploma courses with a practical career-related study and a reflective core. It is uncommon in India, and the Diploma courses within it are taught to the same level as in the full Diploma.

Requests for CP from the Shrigonda area are rare, and if one arrives we teach the Diploma subjects as we would for any DP candidate.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Share the subject, level and exam session and we look for a tutor who has already taught that course. Two IB Maths courses, for example, exist at two levels each, and the right tutor for Applications and Interpretation SL is not always the right one for Analysis and Approaches HL.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, calculus, algebra and proof. Students from Maharashtra board schools have the techniques; the new demand is justifying each step in writing.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and technology work, with data from crop yields, rainfall and sugar recovery rates offered as practice examples.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, thermal physics, waves and fields, with weight put on units, uncertainty and well-labelled graphs.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Mole calculations, bonding, energetics and organic chemistry, using the data booklet from the first week.

IB Biology

HL / SL

A content-heavy course made manageable through spaced recall and exam-style answers; plant science and ecology link easily to the farming around Shrigonda.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagrams and evaluation, with natural local cases in cooperative sugar mills, canal irrigation and farm-gate pricing.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case-study reasoning, finance tools and the internal research task; helpful for families with agri-processing or dairy businesses.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Reading unseen texts, building comparative arguments and speaking a commentary, for students more used to Marathi.

IB Marathi B

HL / SL

Comprehension, written tasks and oral practice for Marathi speakers who want a high-scoring language subject.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

Reading, writing and speaking for students with a Hindi-speaking household or Hindi-medium schooling.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms, data handling and the solution project, built step by step.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Systems thinking with local material such as river water allocation, drought years and canal irrigation.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Resource management, hazards and development themes, plus fieldwork method.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Studies, method and essay writing with clear structure.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Shrigonda school timetables

Every Shrigonda student learns online. Families then choose the shape: one steady lesson each week, a longer plan with reviews, or a sharper stretch of timed practice before mocks and final papers.

Regular weekly lessons

A recurring slot with one tutor. The student arrives with problems, the tutor teaches the next topic and marks the working while the student watches.

  • A tutor chosen for your subject, level and board
  • Usually an hour, once or twice a week
  • Working shown on camera or a pen tablet
  • Suits IGCSE, MYP and DP

Term plan with written notes

A short plan for the term, a note after each lesson that a parent can read, and a catch-up call every few weeks to adjust topics.

  • Notes written for non-specialist parents
  • Review calls instead of surprises
  • Works beside school or coaching
  • Extra sessions before unit tests

Exam-window intensives

Before mocks and the May or November sessions, lessons turn into timed papers followed by detailed correction.

  • Papers marked in the board's own style
  • Two to four sessions a week if the household allows
  • Planned away from Ganeshotsav and Diwali
  • Best started three weeks before the first paper

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Shrigonda

01

Are there IB or IGCSE schools in Shrigonda?

None that we can confirm. The schools in Shrigonda and its villages are affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board or to CBSE, and some run an English-medium section. If someone claims an IB or IGCSE affiliation locally, ask to see the authorisation and the subject list for the current year before you commit.

Families who want an international board therefore look to Pune, which has the closest large set of schools and a good train and road link through Daund. Some parents rent a flat in Pune for the school years, some use a boarding house, and others wait until Class 9 or Class 11 and move then.

A smaller group considers Kolhapur district, where a single campus at Atigre appears on our Sangli page as an international-board option. It is a long way from Shrigonda, so it fits boarding enquiries better than daily travel.

Because options are far away, online preparation matters. A child bound for an entrance test or a mid-year transfer can close the gap in writing style and subject content before the move, rather than after it.

02

How do Maharashtra Board, CBSE, IGCSE and IB differ for Shrigonda students?

The Maharashtra State Board examines SSC at Class 10 and HSC at Class 12 in February and March, mostly in Marathi or English. CBSE examines at the same time on a national syllabus. IGCSE and IB sit mainly in May and November, and their papers ask students to apply and justify, not only to recall.

A state board student arrives with solid facts and good stamina. Under IGCSE or IB, marks go for the reasoning shown, correct units, clear definitions and complete sentences. The first few lessons nearly always concentrate on that shift.

For admission to Maharashtra's engineering and medical courses, the MHT-CET, JEE and NEET routes have eligibility rules, and a student on IB or IGCSE must check them with the authority well before registration, especially for state quota seats.

A parent's best test is to ask where the student will be at eighteen. If the answer is a Maharashtra professional college, the state board or CBSE is often simpler. If the answer is Pune's liberal arts colleges or a university abroad, IGCSE followed by IB is a strong fit.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost for a family in Shrigonda?

  • Course level: IB Higher or Standard, IGCSE Core, Extended, Foundation or Higher
  • Subject and the tutor's experience of that exact syllabus
  • Number and length of lessons each week
  • A regular term plan versus an exam intensive

There is no published price list. The rate depends on the level of the course, the subject, how much the tutor has taught that exact syllabus, and how often your child wants lessons. We state the figure in writing after the free trial lesson and never before.

A specialist who has marked many IB Chemistry HL papers is a different resource from a general tutor for IGCSE Foundation Maths, and the rates reflect it. A more experienced tutor may charge more per hour yet need fewer hours to bring a student to the standard.

Compared with the other routes, online lessons avoid the cost of petrol, bus fares and half-days lost on the road to Daund or Pune. For a family already budgeting for school fees and board-based coaching, that difference is practical rather than abstract.

The advice we give is simple: attend the trial, read the written rate, and compare it with the monthly coaching expense you already carry. You can stop or change tutor at any time.

04

Online tutor, Pune classes, a local home tutor or self-study?

Pune has a deep pool of teachers for IB and IGCSE, but a weekly trip from Shrigonda costs hours on the road, and young students tire quickly. An online lesson puts the same specialists at your own table without the journey.

Local private tutors in Shrigonda are plentiful for the state board and CBSE, and many are excellent teachers. Few have coached IB Internal Assessments or Cambridge paper codes, so they suit general subject support more than syllabus-specific work.

Self-study is realistic for a disciplined child in IGCSE Maths or sciences who uses past papers carefully. It falters in written subjects and coursework, where the student needs a reader who knows the criteria and says where marks went.

One-to-one online tuition gives specialised teaching and fast feedback. It does require a dependable connection, so we agree on a fallback in case of a power or network failure.

05

How do sugar season, Ganeshotsav and summer drought shape the study year?

Shrigonda sits in the drier part of Ahilyanagar district, so rain is moderate and summers are hard. Wells and canals matter, and during poor monsoon years household attention turns to water. In those months, fixed lesson times help a child keep a routine.

The cane-crushing season at the cooperative mills runs through the winter, roughly from late autumn into spring. Mill and field work can pull parents and older children into long shifts, and lessons are best kept to a steady evening slot that does not depend on the adults being at home.

Ganeshotsav, in August or September, is the biggest festival of the year for most families, with guests, processions and visits. Diwali follows in October or November. Both come close to the November IB session and the October-November Cambridge session, so revision should be wrapped up before the festivals begin.

SSC and HSC fall in February and March. For a student at a school elsewhere, we follow that school's calendar, and for state board siblings we keep the home quiet.

06

Where do IB and IGCSE students from Shrigonda go next?

Pune is the natural first stop. Symbiosis, Fergusson College, Flame University, MIT World Peace University and the College of Engineering Pune are names familiar to Shrigonda families. Each sets its own admission criteria, and they can change from one year to the next.

Association of Indian Universities equivalence allows IB and IGCSE qualifications to be treated alongside Indian Class 12, and IB Diploma holders may apply to central universities through CUET-UG. Rules are updated by notification, so verify them in the year you apply.

Engineering and medicine need planning. Physics, Chemistry and Maths matter for JEE and MHT-CET, and Biology with Physics and Chemistry for NEET. Students should confirm eligibility before locking in a Diploma subject package.

Abroad, IB and IGCSE results are read widely in the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Europe, and American colleges consider them with tests and essays. Tutors support the subject side but do not write application essays.

07

Why do Maths and the sciences trip up students new to IB?

In IB Maths the formula is rarely the problem. The marks go to the reasoning, so a student who gets the right answer with no working may receive little. Analysis and Approaches asks for proof and algebraic fluency; Applications and Interpretation asks whether a model is sensible and what its output means.

Both courses include an Exploration, an independent investigation worth a fifth of the grade. Tutors help with choosing a workable topic and checking the mathematics, but the work must be the student's own.

Physics marks slip through unit errors and loose explanations. Chemistry rewards tidy working through long calculations. Biology depends on command terms such as describe, explain and evaluate, which tell the student how much to write.

Students from Shrigonda tend to have a strong work ethic. A tutor channels it towards application, using timed practice and prompt marking to build speed.

08

Core or Extended, Foundation or Higher: choosing the IGCSE tier

In Cambridge IGCSE, Core caps the grade at C and Extended reaches A*. In Edexcel, Foundation tops out at grade 5 and Higher reaches grade 9. A student heading for IB Maths HL or science subjects at Diploma level should be on the upper tier.

The school or exam centre generally decides. A private candidate or a family comparing schools should take a diagnostic paper first. If the score lands near the boundary, discuss the choice with the centre before registration closes.

Subject choice follows the student's direction. A future engineer would take Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science, while one drawn to commerce adds Economics. A language such as Marathi or Hindi, where the board offers it, rounds out the set.

Always confirm the board, the syllabus code and the exam series before the first lesson so the tutor prepares the right paper.

Where we tutor

Shrigonda and the neighbouring towns we teach online

A video lesson does not change when the student is on a farm lane or in the main market. What changes is the household day: the school bus, the mill shift, the evening milk run. The notes below describe how families around Shrigonda tend to arrange study time.

Shrigonda town

The tehsil market and administrative centre. Many parents are traders or government staff, so lessons are timed after dinner or on Sundays.

Shrigonda sugar-belt villages

Cooperative mills set the rhythm of the winter, so tutoring is planned around crushing-season shifts.

Pedgaon

A large village on the Bhima side, where homes combine farming with business and a growing number of salaried families.

Belwandi

A road junction village on the Daund-Ahmednagar side, useful as a reference point for families who commute to either town.

Kashti

A village within the tehsil; connection quality depends on the mobile operator, so a test call before the first lesson helps.

Kukadi canal villages

Irrigated farm villages where family life follows the canal release dates.

Bhima river belt

Villages along the Pune district boundary, where many households already have relatives in Daund and Pune.

Daund

A railway junction in Pune district where many Shrigonda families change trains for Pune, and a source of coaching options.

Karjat

A neighbouring tehsil town in Ahilyanagar district with similar farming and school conditions.

Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) city

The district headquarters, a day trip away, where higher-education and exam-centre options cluster.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Shrigonda

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Shrigonda: your questions answered

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Shrigonda?+

Not one we can confirm. Schools in Shrigonda follow the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE, and the nearest international-board options are in Pune and in Kolhapur district. If a school claims otherwise, ask for its authorisation letter and current subject list before you pay admission fees.

Can I get IB home tuition in Shrigonda?+

You can get online home tuition, meaning a live one-to-one lesson at your own table taught by a specialist elsewhere in India. The tutor does not come to Shrigonda. Visits to the home are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and we say so before any booking.

Do you have IGCSE tutors for Cambridge and Edexcel near Ahilyanagar?+

Yes, for both boards, taught online in IST. We match by syllabus code and tier, for example Cambridge 0620 Chemistry or Edexcel 4MA1 Mathematics A. Tell us the board, subject and exam series, and we propose someone who has taught that paper.

Will a tutor visit our house in Shrigonda?+

No. In Shrigonda, lessons are online, live and private. Home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Your child needs a laptop or tablet, a stable connection and a quiet table, and the tutor watches the working on a shared whiteboard.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Shrigonda?+

It depends on course level, subject, tutor experience and weekly lessons, so we publish no figure. After the free trial, you receive the rate in writing and can weigh it against travel to Pune, a shift of school or the coaching fees you pay today.

Which schools near Shrigonda offer IB or IGCSE?+

None in Shrigonda that we can confirm. In Pune, Mahindra International School, Symbiosis International School and The Riverside School appear on our Pune page. Sanjay Ghodawat International School at Atigre appears on our Sangli page. Check programmes and admissions with each school.

    Is the first lesson free?+

Yes. Your child attends one real lesson with the proposed tutor online, at no charge and with no commitment. Afterwards you decide whether to continue, and the rate is given in writing before any booking is confirmed.

Can a tutor help with my child's Internal Assessment or Extended Essay?+

A tutor can coach the process by helping choose a workable question, planning the method, reading a draft and showing where criteria are missed. The tutor does not write or rewrite the work, because the IB requires it to be the student's own.

Can a Marathi-medium student manage IB or IGCSE in English?+

Yes, with preparation. Maths and the sciences carry over well once the English command words are learned. Essay subjects take longer. A tutor can begin with vocabulary and paragraph structure, then move to full papers, and you can usually see steady progress within a few weeks.

    Does IB Gram teach Marathi?+

Yes. IB Marathi B is available, and where a board offers Marathi in its IGCSE list we can also help with that. Tell us the course code and the school's reading list, and we match a tutor who has taught the same paper.

How should we plan lessons during the sugar season?+

Fix a regular slot that does not rely on a parent being home, and keep sessions short in the busiest weeks. If a mill shift or a power cut interrupts a lesson, we reschedule instead of losing it. The point is a steady routine, not a heavy one.

How do we choose between IGCSE and the state board for Class 9?+

Choose by the next step. If your child is aiming at a Maharashtra professional college through MHT-CET, the state board is often simpler. If the target is IB Diploma, Pune's international schools or study abroad, IGCSE is the better preparation. We discuss it in the trial.

What internet connection do we need?+

A steady broadband or mobile data connection of a few Mbps is usually enough for video and a shared whiteboard. Run a test call before the first lesson. If the signal is weak in your village, we can shorten sessions and send fuller written notes afterwards.

Which IB Maths course should my child take?+

Analysis and Approaches suits students heading for engineering, physics or maths. Applications and Interpretation suits business, social science, psychology and design. The school and target university decide in the end, and we teach whichever is chosen at the right level.

    How do we get started?+

Message +91 7439 368 115 on WhatsApp or email support@ibgram.com with your child's class, board, subject and school. We reply with a tutor proposal and a time for the free trial lesson. After the lesson you decide whether to go on.

Tell us your child's class, board and subject, and we will suggest a tutor who has taught the same course. Your child sits one free lesson online from home, you read the rate in writing, and you decide whether to carry on. The classroom is a screen and the tutor is in India, since home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Email support@ibgram.com or message +91 7439 368 115 on WhatsApp.
