IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Satana

Most enquiries that reach us from Satana begin with one unresolved choice: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, and which two sciences go with it. We settle that first, then give private tuition from home as live one-to-one lessons over video, because no tutor travels to Baglan taluka.

  • Subject and level fixed before the first lesson: AA or AI, Core or Extended, SL or HL
  • Satana lessons run online only, since tutors visit homes nowhere outside Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • One lesson free to begin with, and a rate put in writing only if you want a second
  • No tie to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school in Nashik district

IB & IGCSE in Satana

Picking a subject block from Satana, where no school teaches these courses

A family in Satana rarely rings us to ask what the IB is. They ring because a son or daughter has been offered a seat somewhere with an international curriculum, a subject form is due in a fortnight, and nobody within a ninety kilometre radius can say whether Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation is the sensible box to tick. That is the work we do first, before any teaching: name the degree the child is aiming at, then work backwards to the Maths route and the two sciences that keep it open. Private tuition from home follows, and in Satana that means live lessons on a laptop.

Satana sits at about 544 metres on the Mosam, the river Baglan taluka is built around, with the Selbari and Dolbari ridges holding Salher, Mulher, Hargad and the Mangi-Tungi caves to the north and west. It is a market town of roughly thirty-seven thousand people, Marathi by language and onion by trade. Schooling here runs on the Maharashtra State Board, with CBSE in a handful of newer schools. We could confirm no IB school and no Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE centre in the town or anywhere in the taluka.

So who are the students? Children of Baglan agricultural traders whose business now reaches Surat and the Gulf, families returned from a posting in Pune or abroad, a child boarded at a Diploma school in Pune who comes home for every vacation, and candidates sitting IGCSE privately while living at home. For all of them, a specialist on screen is not a second-best arrangement; it is the only arrangement that exists at this distance from a campus.

Say the words plainly: our tutors do not come to houses in Satana, and in-person teaching is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Online home tuition here means the student sits at the family table or in their own room, with one tutor, on a fixed weekly slot in Indian Standard Time. We are an independent service with no affiliation to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named on this page, and a tutor never writes a student's Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge essay or coursework.

At a glance

  • IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, plus Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE
  • Maths AA and AI both taught, with the choice argued out before you commit
  • No home visits anywhere in Baglan taluka, so every Satana lesson is online
  • A written note after each session, so parents can follow progress without sitting in
  • Free first lesson, rate in writing afterwards, tutor swapped if the fit is wrong
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Satana school years

Satana students reach us at every stage, usually because a school elsewhere has enrolled them and the daily support has to come from home. Here is how a tutor's job changes across the four IB programmes.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised around transdisciplinary themes and the questions children raise inside them, closing with an Exhibition in the final year. Nothing is externally examined.

A Satana child of this age is usually bilingual in Marathi and Hindi with English as the school language, so our early sessions put most of their weight on spoken English confidence and number sense in short bursts.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Every subject is graded against four published criteria, units cut across disciplines, and a Personal Project runs through the final year as an independent piece of work.

Children arriving from a State Board or CBSE classroom in Nashik district find the criteria wording the hardest part. We teach them to read a descriptor and aim at it, and we leave the project's actual content to them.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects across the groups, three at Higher Level, with Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS alongside, examined in May or November and partly through internal assessment.

Diploma candidates from Satana are nearly always registered at a school in Pune or Mumbai, so the weekly online specialist carries the subjects the hostel cannot staff, most often Physics HL and Mathematics.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Two Diploma courses are paired with a career-related study, a reflective project and language development, aimed at students heading into applied study or work.

Very few Indian schools run CP and none in Nashik district that we could confirm. We teach the Diploma courses and the language component, and we will tell a Satana family straight when the Programme is not available to them.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

These are the Diploma courses Satana enquiries name most often. We check the syllabus version, the level and the first examination session with the registering school before a single lesson is booked, because a wrong assumption here wastes a term.

Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

SL and HL

Algebra, functions, calculus and proof, taken by students aiming at engineering, physics, actuarial work or quantitative economics.

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

SL and HL

Statistics, modelling, matrices and heavy calculator use, which suits business, design, agriculture science and most social science degrees.

Physics

SL and HL

Mechanics through to fields and nuclear work, with data booklet drills and a plan for the internal investigation.

Chemistry

SL and HL

Bonding, energetics, equilibrium and organic reactions, including how to set out a mole calculation so no method marks leak.

Biology

SL and HL

Cells, genetics, physiology and ecology, answered in the exact command term language the examiners reward.

Environmental Systems and Societies

SL

Soil, water and food systems read against a real agricultural district, which Baglan students can draw on directly.

Economics

SL and HL

Micro theory, macro policy and development, with diagrams drawn correctly and examples a market-town student already understands.

Business Management

SL and HL

Strategy, finance, marketing and operations, plus the pre-released case study that carries a large share of the grade.

Geography

SL and HL

Food and water security, hazards and population, with fieldwork design for the internal assessment.

English A: Language and Literature

SL and HL

Close reading of literary and non-literary texts, the learner portfolio and the individual oral.

English B

SL and HL

For students whose school language was Marathi or Hindi, covering all four skills and the writing task formats.

Hindi as a Second Language

Single tier

Offered where the board and series allow it, with the specification code confirmed before we start.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Satana school timetables

Satana lies outside the small area where our tutors teach face to face, so all three of the formats below are delivered on screen. They differ by who is in the room and by which part of the year they suit.

Weekly one-to-one lessons at home, online

A single student with a single subject specialist, live over video, from wherever they study in Satana. This is as close to home tuition as the town can get, because tutors do not visit houses here and face-to-face work happens only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

  • Shared whiteboard and annotated past papers
  • One fixed weekly slot, set in IST
  • Written summary to the parent after each session

Vacation intensives for boarded students

Satana children studying at a Diploma or Cambridge school in Pune, Mumbai or Surat come home for long breaks, and those weeks are the right moment to close the gaps the term left behind.

  • Daily or alternate-day sessions for two to four weeks
  • Diagnostic paper first, topic list second
  • Parents given the gap list in plain language

Paired lessons for two on the same course

Two students on an identical course and level can take one tutor between them, which works for siblings or two classmates from the same hostel and keeps the cost per family lower.

  • Identical specification and level required
  • Rate agreed in writing with both families
  • Either student can move back to one to one
Verified tutors

IB and IGCSE tutors available to students in Satana

Every Satana lesson is taught live over video by a tutor based in India, matched to the exact programme or specification shown on their card. The first lesson costs nothing, which is the honest way to find out whether a particular tutor and a particular child get on.

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Satana

01

Maths AA or Maths AI: how should a Satana student decide?

  • AA for engineering, physics, maths and quantitative economics
  • AI for commerce, design, agri-science, psychology and most social sciences
  • AI is not easier, only differently weighted towards statistics and modelling
  • Budget time for justifying method in written English, not just getting the answer
  • Switching between AA and AI mid-course is difficult, so choose once and properly

Decide by the degree, not by the difficulty. Analysis and Approaches is the route for engineering, physics, mathematics, actuarial science and the quantitative economics courses that ask for calculus. Applications and Interpretation is the route for business, design, architecture in several systems, agricultural and food science, psychology and most social sciences. A Satana student who wants to read agricultural engineering at a state university needs AA; one heading for a commerce degree and the family trading business is usually better served, and better graded, by AI.

The difficulty question is where families go wrong. AI is not the easy option; it is a different subject. Its statistics content is heavier, its modelling questions are longer to read, and its Higher Level paper is genuinely demanding. What AI removes is the formal proof and the deeper calculus. So a student who finds algebra painful does not escape by choosing AI, and a student who enjoys proof will be bored by it.

There is a practical constraint specific to a town like Satana. The student has usually come through a Maharashtra State Board or CBSE Class 10 where the algebra was procedural and taught in Marathi or Hindi alongside English. AA asks them to justify steps in written English, which is a language task as much as a mathematical one. We budget lessons for that explicitly in the first term rather than pretending it will sort itself out.

One more thing worth knowing before the subject form is signed: changing from AA Higher Level to AA Standard Level later is usually possible, while crossing between AA and AI after the first year is messy and sometimes refused. Get it right once. Send us the target degree and the Class 10 marksheet and we will give an opinion in writing, including when neither route supports the plan the family has in mind.

02

Which sciences do Satana families choose, and does the pairing matter?

  • Chemistry is the subject most science degrees insist on, so drop it last
  • Physics plus Chemistry keeps engineering and Indian entrance routes open
  • Biology plus Chemistry is the medicine, veterinary and food technology pairing
  • Environmental Systems and Geography let a Baglan student write from real ground
  • Lab access for the internal investigation has to be planned, not assumed

Physics with Chemistry is the pairing we see most, because it keeps engineering and the Indian entrance route alive at the same time. Biology with Chemistry comes next, from families pointing at medicine, veterinary science or food technology. The pairing matters more than either subject alone: Chemistry is the hinge that almost every science degree asks for, and dropping it while keeping Physics closes more doors than families expect.

A genuinely local option is worth raising. Environmental Systems and Societies at Standard Level, and Geography with its food and water security units, sit unusually well with a Baglan upbringing. A student who has watched irrigation turns on the Mosam, onion prices swing between harvests and the Haranbari reservoir rise and fall has real material for an internal assessment. Examiners reward specificity, and a candidate writing about their own district out-argues one recycling a textbook case study every time.

Practical work is the honest difficulty for a Satana student. The internal investigation in Physics, Chemistry and Biology needs a laboratory, and if the registering school is in Pune while the child is at home in Baglan for weeks at a stretch, the planning and the write-up have to be organised around school access. We coach the design, the uncertainty treatment and the evaluation; the student does the experiment under their school's supervision, and we never write the report.

At IGCSE level the question is different: three separate sciences or the Combined and Co-ordinated route. Three separate sciences keep every sixth-form door open but take a lot of timetable. Combined Science is a reasonable, respectable choice for a student whose strength is elsewhere, and it does not block a social science or commerce path later. We walk through that with the Class 9 marks in front of us rather than from principle.

03

Are there any IB or IGCSE schools in Satana or Baglan taluka?

No, none that we could confirm. We checked school directories and board listings for Satana and the wider taluka and found Maharashtra State Board schools, some in Marathi medium and some in English, together with a small CBSE presence. Nothing surfaced as an authorised IB World School or a registered Cambridge or Edexcel centre. Anyone telling a Satana family otherwise should be asked for the authorisation code and the board's own listing page.

That absence shapes everything else on this page. It means an IB Diploma from Satana involves boarding or relocating, because the Diploma cannot be sat privately. It means IGCSE is the more realistic international qualification to attempt from home, since Cambridge allows a private candidate to study independently and enter through an approved centre. And it means the teaching, whichever route is chosen, comes online.

Be careful with marketing language, which is the other thing that misleads parents in a town this size. A school advertising an international syllabus, a Cambridge partnership, a smart class or a foreign-curriculum tie-up may still be affiliated solely to the State Board or CBSE. A partnership is not an authorisation. The test is simple: which board issues the certificate at the end, and can you find the school on that board's own register?

What we can do from here is make the remaining options legible. We tell families which qualification is actually reachable from Satana, what the private-candidate route involves in practice, where the nearest realistic campuses are, and roughly what each path costs a household in travel and disruption before any tuition is discussed. Several families, after that conversation, sensibly stay with CBSE. We would rather say so than sell lessons.

04

Maharashtra State Board, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE and IB compared for a Baglan family

The difference between these boards is not how hard they are but what they reward. The Maharashtra State Board examines the prescribed text closely and in the state's own language where a family wants that, which is a genuine strength and the reason most of Satana uses it. CBSE standardises nationally and aligns tightly with JEE and NEET. ICSE pushes written English and breadth. IGCSE and the IB ask a student to apply ideas to material they have not seen before and to explain their reasoning on paper.

For a child who is going to stay in Maharashtra, sit MHT-CET and study engineering or medicine at a state college, the State Board or CBSE is the direct and cheaper road, and changing to an international curriculum can actively hurt. The calculus runs the other way for a child whose family intends an overseas degree, or who may move cities or countries mid-schooling, because IGCSE and the Diploma travel and the State Board certificate needs explaining abroad.

Language deserves its own paragraph in a Marathi-speaking town. A student moving from Marathi-medium instruction into IGCSE sciences is learning the subject and the register at once. It is entirely doable, and we have taught it, but it adds roughly a term of reading and writing work that nobody should pretend away. English as a Second Language at IGCSE is often the sensible entry, with a view to English B at Diploma level.

Our advice to Satana parents weighing this is unsentimental: write down the degree, the country and the budget first. The board follows from those three answers. If the honest answer is a Maharashtra engineering college on a tight budget, we will say that the international route adds cost and risk without adding much, and we will not take the enquiry further.

05

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost a family in Satana?

We do not publish a rate, and the reason is that two Satana enquiries with the same subject name can be very different pieces of work. A Class 9 student on Cambridge Core Mathematics needing one weekly lesson is not the same engagement as a private IGCSE candidate covering five subjects with no school teaching behind them, or a Diploma student three months from the May session with Physics Higher Level unfinished. We quote per student, in writing, after we know what is actually required.

The things that move the number are worth stating openly so a family can estimate before they ask. Level is the largest factor, because Higher Level and Extended tier work needs a narrower specialist. Subject matters: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL, Physics HL and Chemistry HL draw on a smaller pool of tutors than Business Management. Then come frequency, how many weeks remain before the session, whether the student is being taught or only revised, and whether the lessons are one to one or paired.

Satana families usually find two of these easy to control. Booking early, well before the examination session, lowers the intensity needed and therefore the total. And a paired lesson with a sibling or a hostel classmate on exactly the same course and level splits the cost without splitting the attention much, as long as both students are genuinely at the same stage.

Beware the hidden comparison. A nearby coaching class advertised as inexpensive often turns out to be a State Board or entrance-exam batch with twenty students and no IGCSE specification knowledge, which is not the same product at any price. Equally, a high rate is not evidence of expertise. Ask any tutor, including ours, which syllabus version they have taught, which examination series, and what their students found hard in the last paper.

What drives an IB or IGCSE tuition rate, and what a Satana family can influence

06

Online tuition, a Nashik coaching class, a local private tutor or self-study?

For an IB or IGCSE course from Satana, online one-to-one teaching is usually the only option that matches the specification, and the comparison below is meant to show why rather than to flatter us. The alternatives each do something real, and for some students they are the right answer. What they cannot generally do is teach a Cambridge or Diploma paper to its own mark scheme.

A coaching class in Nashik or Malegaon is built for MHT-CET, JEE or NEET, and it is often very good at that. The syllabus overlaps with IB science only in patches, the question style is multiple choice rather than extended explanation, and the ninety kilometre round trip to Nashik is not something a school student can absorb twice a week. We have seen Diploma students lose a term this way, learning the right physics for the wrong examination.

A private tutor in Satana itself has the advantage of being present, and for State Board or CBSE support that is a strong argument. The limitation is specification knowledge. The command terms, the internal assessment criteria, the data booklet conventions and the way an examiner splits marks are learned by teaching the course repeatedly. In a town with no IB or Cambridge school, nobody has had that opportunity locally, through no fault of their own.

Self-study with past papers is better than its reputation and genuinely works for a motivated private candidate in English, Business Studies or Geography. It tends to fail in the sciences and in Mathematics Higher Level, where a student cannot see what they are doing wrong and so practises the error. The usual sensible arrangement from Satana is self-study on the subjects that reward reading, with a tutor on the two or three that do not.

Four ways to prepare for IB or IGCSE from Satana
RouteWhat it gives a Satana studentWhere it falls short
Online one-to-one tuitionA tutor who has taught that exact specification and series, no travel at allNeeds a reliable connection and a quiet corner at a fixed hour
Coaching class in Nashik or MalegaonStrong entrance-exam drilling and peer pressure to keep paceWrong question style for IB and IGCSE, plus a long and tiring commute
Private tutor in SatanaSomeone local and present, good for State Board and CBSE supportNo local exposure to IB or Cambridge mark schemes and criteria
Self-study with past papersLow cost, flexible, workable in essay and reading subjectsErrors go uncorrected, which is costly in sciences and Maths HL
07

The examination calendar against Satana's farming and festival year

Two sets of dates govern a Satana student's year and they do not align. The IB Diploma examines in May and November, with internal assessment deadlines falling months before. Cambridge IGCSE runs May or June and October or November, and Edexcel adds a January window in several subjects. Against that sit the onion harvests, the monsoon, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Diwali and the Margsheesh yatra at the Samadhi of Yashwantrao Maharaj in the town itself.

The collisions are predictable once written down, which is the whole point of writing them down. February and March, when the rabi onion crop comes to market, are also when a May-session candidate should be deep in revision, and in a trading household the entire family is occupied from before dawn. We plan around that by front-loading the heavy teaching into December and January instead of arguing with it in March.

The monsoon brings a different problem. From June to September the ghat roads towards Pisol and the fort villages are slow and power supply is less dependable in the outlying settlements. This is the stretch where a lesson that would have required travel simply would not happen, and where an online slot with an agreed fallback time holds up. We ask every outlying family to nominate that fallback at the start of the season rather than improvising on the day.

Festivals are easier because they are fixed. Ganesh Chaturthi and Navratri absorb attention across Nashik district, Diwali closes most schooling, and the Mangi-Tungi fair in Kartik along with the Margsheesh yatra fill the local roads. We schedule those weeks off and add the hours back either side. A plan that ignores the local calendar is not a plan; it is a list of lessons that will be cancelled.

Where do IB and IGCSE students from Satana go to university?

  • AIU equivalence is the route for Indian universities, applied for in advance
  • CUET-UG is open to IB and IGCSE students for central university admission
  • JEE and NEET are possible but mean preparing for two different question styles
  • Higher Level subject choice decides which overseas degrees stay open
  • We check the subject block against the degree; we do not place or advise on admission

In three directions, and it is worth being precise about each. Indian universities accept the IB Diploma through the Association of Indian Universities equivalence certificate, which a student applies for and should not leave until results week. CUET-UG is open to IB and IGCSE-then-A-Level candidates for central universities. And for overseas admission the Diploma is read directly, with IGCSE grades used as the supporting record below it.

The entrance-examination question comes up in every Satana conversation, because this is a district where JEE and NEET dominate the ambition of bright students. Both are open to IB and IGCSE students, subject to the eligibility conditions those authorities publish, and both demand the Indian syllabus and the multiple-choice technique that the IB does not train. A Diploma candidate who also wants NEET is effectively preparing twice. Some manage it. Most families, told this plainly, pick one.

Overseas, the pattern among families we have taught from Nashik district runs towards engineering, business, pharmacy and increasingly agricultural and food science, which is an honest fit for a household whose income comes from horticulture and trade. UK and Irish universities read Higher Level grades for direct entry, Canadian and Australian admission is straightforward with the Diploma, and European degrees taught in English have grown as a lower-cost option.

What we actually do here is narrower than guidance counselling, and we say so. We make sure the subject block matches the degree, we tell a family when a chosen Higher Level will block a course they are naming, and we point them to the AIU and CUET rules rather than paraphrasing them. We do not place students, do not write applications and do not promise an outcome at any institution.

09

IGCSE Core or Extended, and sitting the papers privately from Satana

  • Tier is chosen subject by subject, not once for the whole certificate
  • Extended Mathematics is the practical prerequisite for IB Maths AA
  • Core in a weak subject with Extended elsewhere is a sensible package, not a defeat
  • Private candidates enter through an approved centre, with Mumbai nearest to Baglan
  • Some subjects restrict private entry because of speaking or practical papers

Extended is the tier that leads anywhere, and that is the short answer. Core caps the top grade available in a Cambridge subject, which matters because an IB Diploma school or an A Level college will look at those grades. For a student aiming at the Diploma, Extended Mathematics is effectively required; arriving in Maths AA from Core Mathematics is a gap most students cannot close inside the first year.

Core is not a failure, though, and treating it as one does damage. For a student carrying a language change, three sciences and a genuine struggle in algebra, Core in one or two subjects with Extended in the rest is a rational package that produces real grades instead of a row of low ones. The tier is chosen per subject, not for the whole certificate, which families in a town without an IGCSE school often do not realise.

Then the mechanics, which matter more from Satana than from Mumbai. A private candidate registers through a Cambridge-approved exam centre, and the nearest realistic centres for Baglan are in Mumbai, with Surat an option for families whose business already runs into Gujarat. Entry deadlines fall months ahead of the papers, the centre sets its own fees and rules, and some subjects are closed to private candidates because of the speaking or practical components. Check that subject by subject before planning a block.

Our part is the teaching and the deadline discipline. We teach the specification, mark work to the published scheme, keep a written record so a parent can see movement, and tell the family which registration dates are coming. We do not register candidates, do not act as a centre and do not sit between a family and Cambridge. That boundary keeps everyone honest, and it is the same boundary that keeps us out of a student's coursework.

Where we tutor

Satana town and the Baglan places we teach into

A stable connection is the only requirement, so our reach is the whole of Baglan taluka and the roads out of it. These are the places Satana families write in from, with a note on what shapes study time in each.

Satana town centre and the bazaar

The market core on the Mosam, busiest on trading days when onion and pomegranate loads come in. Households attached to the market prefer a slot after the mandi has shut for the day.

Nampur Road

The corridor west towards Nampur, with newer houses and trader families. Children are home by late afternoon, which makes a six or seven o'clock lesson easy to hold to.

Malegaon Road

The eastern approach, about forty-five kilometres from Malegaon. Families with business in both towns often travel midweek, so they ask for weekend blocks instead.

Nampur

A substantial market village in the taluka with its own produce trade. Older students here frequently sit IGCSE privately while living at home.

Taharabad and the Mangi-Tungi road

The approach to the Jain pilgrimage caves. The Kartik fair fills these roads for days, and we simply move lessons rather than ask anyone to travel.

Mulher and the Selbari fort villages

Below Mulher, Hargad and Salota, where mobile reception can be patchy in bad weather. We fix a fallback slot in advance for these households.

Haranbari dam villages

Settlements around the reservoir on the Mosam. Irrigation turns dictate family routine more than the school timetable does, so our schedules follow the water, not the clock.

Pisol ghat side and Nandin

The far edge of the taluka towards the district boundary. Travel out is slow, which is exactly why online lessons work better here than any commute.

Deola

The neighbouring taluka town south of Satana, close enough that families there consider themselves part of the same catchment for schooling decisions.

Kalwan and Abhona

East towards the Saptashrungi hills. Students from this side usually board elsewhere in term time and want vacation-intensive teaching.

Satana to Nashik corridor

Roughly ninety kilometres of road to the district headquarters, done for exams, documents and school meetings rather than daily. No one should drive it for a tuition class.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Satana

Satana and Baglan taluka: nothing confirmed

We could not confirm a single IB school or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE centre in Satana or anywhere else in Baglan taluka. Local schools run the Maharashtra State Board, with CBSE in a few, and that is the honest position. We name no school here as offering either curriculum.

    Nearby: Nashik, about 90 km

The district headquarters, where Satana families do most of their official schooling business. We could not confirm an IB or Cambridge school here either, so families set on a campus look further south. Its usefulness to a Satana student is as a transit point and a place to collect documents.

Nearby: Pune, for a full Diploma seat

The Diploma has no private-candidate route, so a Satana family committed to the full IB Diploma generally ends up boarding in Pune. These two are confirmed to run international programmes; admissions and authorisation should still be checked with each school directly.

      • Symbiosis International School
      • Mercedes-Benz International School

Nearby: Mumbai, and Surat for the Gujarat route

Mumbai suits families with professional ties there, and Surat is the natural choice for Baglan trading households whose business already runs that way. All four are confirmed to offer IB or Cambridge programmes, and exam-centre access in Mumbai also matters for private IGCSE candidates.

      • Dhirubhai Ambani International School
      • Oberoi International School
      • Fountainhead School
      • P. P. Savani Cambridge International School

IB Gram runs independently and has no connection with any school or examining body mentioned above. Schools appear only as geographical context, and only where a published source shows an IB or Cambridge offering; parents should verify current authorisation and admissions with the school itself before acting on anything here.

      How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

      1. 01

Tell us the course, not just the subject

A message with the programme, the subject, the level or tier, the examination session and the registering school lets us match a tutor properly. Write to support@ibgram.com or on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115.

      2. 02

We check the specification and name a tutor

We confirm the syllabus version with the school, then suggest a tutor who has taught that exact course and series, with their experience set out so you can judge it.

      3. 03

Take the first lesson at no charge

A real lesson on real content, not a sales call, at a time that suits a Satana household. The point is to see whether the child talks to this particular tutor.

      4. 04

Fix the slot and get the rate in writing

If you want to continue, we agree the weekly timing in Indian Standard Time, including the fallback slot that outlying Baglan families need in the monsoon, and send the rate and terms in writing.

      5. 05

Read the written note after every session

Each lesson ends with a short written summary of what was covered and what is still weak. Ask for a different tutor at any point if the fit is wrong, and we will arrange it.

      Why families choose us

What Satana parents tell us matters most

The subject decision comes before the selling

We argue out AA against AI, Core against Extended and the science pairing before anyone books a lesson, because a wrong subject form costs a Satana family a year that no amount of tuition recovers.

Straight talk about what Satana does not have

There is no IB school and no Cambridge centre in Baglan taluka, and we say so rather than implying a local option exists. That honesty extends to telling families when staying with CBSE is the better decision.

      Specification-level tutor matching

Tutors are matched to the paper the student will actually sit, by syllabus code and examination series, not to a general subject label that could mean half a dozen different courses.

Scheduling built around the Baglan year

Harvest weeks, monsoon road conditions, patchy power in the fort villages and the local fair calendar are planned into the timetable from the start, with a fallback slot agreed in advance.

Coaching that stops where the student's own work begins

We teach method, mark work against the published scheme and plan an investigation, but a tutor never writes an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge essay or any piece of coursework.

Nothing to unwind if it does not suit

The first lesson is free, the rate arrives in writing before you commit to a second, and a tutor change is a request rather than a negotiation. No packages are sold on the strength of a phone call.

      Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Satana: your questions answered

Can I get IB or IGCSE home tuition in Satana?+

Yes, as online home tuition. The student learns one to one with a specialist over live video from their own home in Satana, on a fixed weekly slot. What we cannot offer here is a tutor arriving at the door: visits happen only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and nowhere in Nashik district. Families searching for private tuition at home are usually asking for one teacher, one child and full attention, and that is exactly what the online format gives, minus the travel.

Are there IB or IGCSE schools in Satana?+

None that we could confirm, in the town or anywhere in Baglan taluka. Schools here run the Maharashtra State Board, with a small CBSE presence, and no IB authorisation or Cambridge or Edexcel registration surfaced in the listings we checked. If a school tells you otherwise, ask for its authorisation code and look it up on the board's own register, because an international partnership or tie-up is not the same thing as being authorised to teach and examine the curriculum.

Should my child take Maths AA or Maths AI?+

Work backwards from the degree. Analysis and Approaches is needed for engineering, physics, mathematics, actuarial work and quantitative economics. Applications and Interpretation suits commerce, design, agricultural and food science, psychology and most social sciences. AI is not the easier course, only a different one, with far more statistics and modelling. Send us the target degree and the Class 10 marksheet and we will put an opinion in writing before the subject form is submitted, since switching between the two later is difficult.

Can an IGCSE be taken privately while living in Satana?+

Yes, for most subjects. Cambridge permits a private candidate to study independently and enter through an approved examination centre without attending a Cambridge school, which is the main route open to Baglan families. The nearest realistic centres are in Mumbai, with Surat an option for families already trading that way. Entry deadlines fall months before the papers, the centre sets its own fees, and a few subjects restrict private entry because of speaking or practical components, so check subject by subject.

Is the full IB Diploma possible without leaving Satana?+

No. The Diploma has no private-candidate route, so a student must be enrolled at an authorised IB World School, and there is none in Nashik district that we could confirm. Satana families committed to the Diploma generally board in Pune or Mumbai and use online tuition for the subjects the school cannot support well, especially Physics Higher Level and Mathematics. If relocation is not possible, IGCSE followed by A Levels as a private candidate is the more workable international route.

What does tuition cost for a Satana student?+

We quote per student in writing rather than publishing a rate, because the same subject name hides very different work. The rate is driven by level and tier, how scarce the subject specialism is, how many weeks remain before the examination session, whether the course is being taught from scratch or revised, frequency, and whether lessons are one to one or paired. Booking early is the biggest saving available to a family, and a paired lesson with a sibling on the identical course splits the cost.

How far is the nearest IB school from Satana?+

Pune is the nearest place where we can confirm schools running international programmes, and it is a long day's journey from Satana rather than a commute. Mumbai is a comparable distance, and Surat suits trading families whose business already runs into Gujarat. Nashik, about ninety kilometres away, is the district headquarters but we could not confirm an IB or Cambridge school there either. In practice this means boarding, not daily travel, for any family choosing a campus.

Which localities around Satana do you teach?+

All of them, because the lesson travels over a connection rather than a road. Families write in from the town bazaar, Nampur Road, the Malegaon Road side, Nampur, Taharabad on the Mangi-Tungi approach, the Mulher and Selbari fort villages, the Haranbari dam settlements, the Pisol ghat side towards Nandin, and from Deola and Kalwan nearby. The only practical requirement is a stable connection and a quiet corner at the agreed hour, with a fallback slot for the monsoon months.

Will the tutor teach in Marathi or Hindi if my child needs it?+

Explanation can be given in Hindi and, where a tutor is available, in Marathi, but the written work has to move into English because that is the language of the paper. For a student coming out of Marathi-medium schooling we treat the language shift as part of the teaching rather than a side issue, usually costing about a term of extra reading and writing practice. IGCSE English as a Second Language is often the sensible entry point, leading towards English B at Diploma level.

How do you handle the Internal Assessment and Extended Essay?+

We coach them and we do not write them. For a science investigation that means helping design the method, handle uncertainties and structure the evaluation, with the experiment itself done under the school's supervision. For an Extended Essay it means narrowing the research question, checking the argument holds and reading drafts the student has written. A Baglan student often has strong local material for an environmental or geographical investigation, and the credit for using it stays theirs.

Do lessons stop during the onion harvest and festival weeks?+

We plan around them rather than pretending they are not there. February and March, when the rabi onion crop reaches the mandi, occupy an entire trading household, so we front-load heavy teaching into December and January instead. Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, the Kartik fair at Mangi-Tungi and the Margsheesh yatra in the town are scheduled off with hours added back either side. Agreeing this in the first week prevents a term of cancellations later.

Which exam sessions can my child be prepared for?+

The IB Diploma examines in May and November, Cambridge IGCSE in May or June and again in October or November, and Edexcel adds a January window in several subjects. We work to whichever session the registering school has entered the student for, counting backwards from the internal assessment deadlines rather than the written papers, because those deadlines are what students in a town with no on-site teacher most often miss.

Can an IB or IGCSE student from Satana still sit JEE or NEET?+

Yes, subject to the eligibility conditions those authorities publish, but it means preparing for two different examinations at once. The IB rewards extended explanation while JEE and NEET reward speed on multiple-choice questions over the Indian syllabus, and the overlap in content is partial. Some students manage both. Most families, once the double workload is spelled out, choose one direction, and we will give an honest view on which rather than taking on work that cannot succeed.

Will Indian universities accept an IB Diploma from Satana?+

Yes, through the Association of Indian Universities equivalence certificate, which the student applies for and should not leave until results are out. CUET-UG is also open to IB candidates for central university admission. Each university sets its own subject requirements on top of that, so check the specific course before finalising Higher Level choices. We flag when a chosen Higher Level will close a degree the family has named, which is a mistake far easier to prevent than to fix.

How many lessons a week does a Diploma student usually need?+

One a week per subject is the normal pattern when a school is teaching the course and the tutor is reinforcing it. Two becomes necessary when a student is a private candidate with no teaching behind them, when a Higher Level subject has fallen badly behind, or when fewer than three months remain before the session. We review it each term and say when the frequency can drop, since there is no reason to keep selling lessons a student has stopped needing.

What happens if my child and the tutor do not get on?+

Ask for a change and we arrange one, with no argument and no charge for the switch. Fit matters more at this age than any credential, which is why the first lesson is free: it exists so a Satana family can test the pairing on real content before committing to anything. If the second tutor is not right either, tell us what specifically is not working, because that information usually points at the subject or the schedule rather than the person.

Is a coaching class in Nashik a reasonable alternative?+

Not for IB or IGCSE, though it may be excellent for what it is built for. Classes in Nashik and Malegaon are designed around MHT-CET, JEE and NEET, with multiple-choice drilling on the Indian syllabus, and the content overlaps international science syllabuses only in patches. Add a ninety kilometre round trip from Satana twice a week and the arithmetic stops working for a school student. For State Board or entrance preparation, however, a local class is the sensible choice.

How do we start, and what do you need from us?+

Send one message with the programme, the subject, the level or tier, the examination session and the name of the registering school, to support@ibgram.com or on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115. We confirm the specification, propose a tutor who has taught that exact course, and offer a free first lesson at a time that works for a Satana household. If you continue, the rate and terms come in writing before the second lesson.
