IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Samalkha

Samalkha families asking for home tuition for an IB or IGCSE course get an honest answer from us: the lesson is live and online, because our in-person visits stop at Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and Samalkha is outside them. A tutor who has taught your child's exact syllabus teaches one to one over video and leaves a short written note after each class.

  • A tutor already experienced in your child's exact IB or IGCSE specification
  • Live video teaching only; Samalkha is not a home-visit area
  • A free trial class before any payment
  • Independent of every board, school and university named below

IB & IGCSE in Samalkha

What IB and IGCSE home tuition means for a Samalkha family

Samalkha is a town of about forty thousand people on the Grand Trunk Road, roughly nineteen kilometres south of Panipat and seventy-two from Delhi. It earns its living from textile yarn, cast iron, nuts and bolts, bathroom fittings and a busy grain, jaggery and timber market, and it has a cluster of local colleges. Children mostly study under the Haryana board or CBSE. We could not confirm a school here that teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE programme.

People hear that Samalkha is inside the National Capital Region and assume a tutor can drive over. For our service that is not the case. In-person home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and Samalkha does not fall inside that area. What a family here receives instead is a live private lesson on a laptop, with a tutor who may be sitting in Gurugram, Pune or Chennai and who has taught the same syllabus before.

The households that contact us tend to run businesses on the GT Road, work in the Panipat refinery and industrial belt, or have relatives who have already moved to Delhi, Canada or Australia. A good number want a child to be comfortable with an international syllabus before applying to one of the NCR campuses, and some simply want a different style of learning from rote preparation.

IB Gram has nothing to do with the IB organisation, Cambridge, Pearson or the schools mentioned on this page. Tutors here are teachers and mentors. A finished Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or piece of coursework is something no tutor of ours will ever hand over or draft for a pupil.

At a glance

  • Private live classes for IB PYP, MYP and Diploma and for Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE
  • Online in Samalkha; in-person visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A short written summary after each class
  • Tutor swap on request if the pairing is wrong
  • Fees stated in writing before the first paid class
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Samalkha school years

The four IB stages mean something specific when the student lives on the GT Road belt and the nearest international classroom is in the NCR. Each entry below says what a tutor would actually do.

PYPAges 3-12, Nursery to Class 5

IB Primary Years Programme

Children work through inquiry units and finish with a self-directed Exhibition. A tutor concentrates on reading, number sense and the confidence to ask why.

A PYP request from Samalkha often means the child began in a Delhi or Gurugram school; a weekly class helps the inquiry style survive a move back to the family home town.

MYPAges 11-16, Class 6 to 10

IB Middle Years Programme

Each subject is judged against published criteria, and the course closes with a Personal Project. The skill being trained is explaining how an answer was reached.

No MYP class operates in town, so the tutor decodes the criteria into plain language and shows what a top-band answer looks like.

DPAges 16-19, Class 11 and 12

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects at Higher or Standard Level plus the Extended Essay, TOK and CAS. Exams and school-assessed work together give the final score out of 45.

Haryana families usually have engineering, medicine, management or study abroad in view, so Mathematics and the sciences make up most requests.

CPAges 16-19, Class 11 and 12

IB Career-related Programme

A few Diploma subjects combined with a career-related study and a reflective project, built for students with applied or vocational plans.

We know of no school near Samalkha that runs the Career-related Programme, so our help goes to its academic courses.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Samalkha school timetables

Three patterns cover most Samalkha families. The format is always a live private video class; what differs is the reason for it and the rhythm.

A fixed weekly class

One tutor on the same day each week, covering the specification in order, with homework corrected before the next class.

  • For IB, IGCSE and MYP subjects
  • A shared digital whiteboard in every class
  • Homework photographed and returned with comments
  • A stable bond with one tutor all year

International course beside a Haryana board school

Suits a pupil on the rolls of a local school who also follows an IB or IGCSE course after hours.

  • Slots avoid school test weeks
  • Only the international syllabus is taught
  • A monthly note for parents
  • Preparation before entering an NCR campus

Pre-exam sprint

A compact run of classes built on timed papers, correction and retesting of the weakest topics.

  • Papers marked against official schemes
  • Repeated errors logged and retested
  • Begins four to six weeks ahead
  • Planned around Diwali and the fog weeks

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Samalkha

01

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Samalkha?

  • No confirmed IB or IGCSE school in Samalkha
  • Local choice is Haryana board and CBSE
  • The nearest established international schools are in the NCR
  • Verify new claims on the official IB and Cambridge directories

None that we could confirm. The schools you pass along the GT Road in Samalkha are Haryana-board and CBSE institutions, plus coaching centres and a handful of private colleges such as those in the town's education belt. For an international curriculum the realistic nearest options sit in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram.

Distance matters here, though less than for most places in this list. Samalkha lies on the Delhi-Ambala rail line and the GT Road, and an NCR campus is a long daily commute away rather than a different world. That is why some families try boarding or relocation, while others keep the child at home and add an online tutor for the syllabus they want.

Not all demand is about moving. A father in the Panipat refinery complex may have trained abroad. A family running an export business in yarn or metal goods may want the children to be at ease with English-medium, discussion-based assessment. A mother who attended an international school herself may want the same for her child.

Because new approvals appear every year, check the IB and Cambridge school directories before assuming nothing exists near you.

02

Haryana board, CBSE, IB or IGCSE: what changes for a Samalkha child?

The Haryana board is common in government and many private schools, with Hindi and English media and Class 10 and 12 board exams. CBSE is available in many private schools and is the pathway to JEE, NEET and CUET. IB and IGCSE offer portability and a different assessment style, but need deliberate planning for Indian entrance exams.

In practice the contrast lies in the questions. Haryana board papers reward remembered content. CBSE adds application. IGCSE and IB give unfamiliar data and ask for reasoning in full sentences, and the IB Diploma also demands a long research essay, a knowledge course and creative and service work.

Staying within Haryana board or CBSE is a sound plan for many families aiming at Indian engineering and medical seats, because entrance coaching is plentiful. IGCSE or IB makes better sense for a child likely to study abroad or for one who thrives when asked to explain.

A popular hybrid is IGCSE through Class 10, then the IB Diploma or A Levels at an NCR campus or CBSE for Class 11 and 12. Tutors help close the gaps at the switch.

03

What does private IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Samalkha?

  • Level, subject, tutor and frequency set the rate
  • A written quote precedes any payment
  • The first class is free
  • No fuel or travel cost

A published figure would mislead you, so we give a quote in writing after the free trial class. By then we know the subject, the level and how much help the child needs.

Four things set the number. The first is level and subject: an HL science or Additional Mathematics specialist is harder to find than a tutor for early reading. The second is the tutor's record with your child's specification. The third is rhythm, since weekly classes through a school year are priced differently from a six-week sprint. The fourth is how long you book.

Samalkha families save on things that never appear on an invoice. There is no diesel for a trip to Panipat or Delhi, no morning lost on a congested GT Road and no premium for a tutor prepared to drive out. A laptop, steady internet and a quiet table are the only requirements.

A cautious family can start with a few classes on the hardest topic and widen the plan later.

04

Online home tuition, a coaching centre or a local tutor: which helps an IB or IGCSE student most?

Samalkha and Panipat have capable coaching centres, built for board exams, JEE and NEET. Their strength is routine and company. Their limit is that few of their teachers know IB command terms, Cambridge tiers or Edexcel mark schemes, and a class of thirty cannot follow one child's gaps.

A local private tutor can be dedicated and cheap, yet he or she has probably never marked an IGCSE script. An IB Gram tutor has, and works through authentic past papers with the student on a shared screen. The lesson happens at home, so the highway trip disappears.

There are downsides. The student must be self-disciplined, and the connection must hold. Foggy winter mornings and summer storms can cut power, so we agree a fallback such as a hotspot, a moved slot or a recorded board session.

Some families combine all three: online for Mathematics and sciences, a coaching centre for entrance exams, self-study for languages.

How do fog, smog and festivals shape the exam calendar in Samalkha?

Diploma papers are sat in May and marks come out in early July; November is an option for some candidates. Cambridge IGCSE has February-March, May-June and October-November windows, and Edexcel IGCSE has January, May-June and October-November. Samalkha pupils enter as private candidates through an authorised centre, usually in Delhi, long before each window.

Northern India adds its own disruptions. December and January bring dense fog and cold, and schools sometimes shorten hours. October and November often bring poor air quality across Haryana, with closures in the worst weeks. Summer from April to June is very hot, and the wheat harvest in April keeps many farm families busy.

Holi in March, Teej in the monsoon, Diwali and Chhath in the autumn, and Lohri in January break the term in different places. A good plan places mock papers away from these and keeps spare slots in the foggy weeks.

For a May sitting, we work backwards: content finished by January, past papers in March and April, light review in the final fortnight.

Which universities can IB and IGCSE students from Samalkha reach?

  • IB Diploma: AIU equivalence, CUET-UG, direct entry abroad
  • IGCSE: bridge to Class 11, A Level or Diploma
  • NEET and JEE: verify the subject rules each year
  • Shortlist universities by Year 12

Samalkha students sit close to an unusually rich cluster of universities. Ashoka University and O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat district, the Delhi universities, and the Gurugram and Noida campuses all lie within a day's travel, and several admit students holding international qualifications.

Universities in Britain, Canada, Australia, America and continental Europe read Diploma scores routinely. In India, the Association of Indian Universities may accept it as the equal of Class 12 when its conditions are satisfied, and central universities admitting by CUET-UG weigh IB applicants against each programme's subject list.

Indian medical and engineering seats are fussier. NEET-UG and JEE Main name the subjects they want, so confirm that Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics are among the six IB choices. IGCSE ends with Class 10 and leads into any Class 11 stream, the Diploma or A Levels.

Tutors help with subject choices and predicted-grade planning but never write personal statements.

07

How are IB Maths and the sciences taught over video?

Mathematics generally leads the conversation. Analysis and Approaches rewards a taste for algebra, calculus and proof, and is the common pick of would-be engineers and computer scientists. Applications and Interpretation lines up with business, economics and biology because it is built around data and technology. Higher Level means a few hours of solo practice each week on top of classes.

The Exploration is the Mathematics internal assessment. A tutor helps pick a manageable topic, read the criteria and rehearse explaining the method; the report, the calculations and the conclusions are the student's.

In the sciences, a shared board handles most of the syllabus. The Individual Investigation needs a sound design, and where a lab is hard to reach a tutor can still shape the research question, the uncertainty analysis and the presentation by video.

Marks leak in predictable places: organic routes and equilibrium in Chemistry, units and graphs in Physics, vague wording in Biology. Each class takes one and drills it.

Core, Extended, Foundation or Higher: choosing IGCSE tiers and subjects

Cambridge offers Core and Extended in several subjects; Edexcel offers Foundation and Higher. The lower tier caps the grade, the upper tier opens the top grades. Students targeting A Level sciences, the Diploma or a selective degree should plan for the upper tier early.

For a pupil aiming at engineering, a sensible bundle is Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and English. Future doctors add Biology, and future managers swap in Business Studies and Economics. Most take between five and eight.

Combining IGCSE with a Haryana board or CBSE school is feasible with evening classes and private entries, though heavy. Starting in Class 8 or 9 is wiser than starting in Class 10.

A diagnostic paper each term lets tier decisions rest on evidence.

09

What happens between the first message and the first lesson?

You message us the class, board, subject and exam date. We suggest a tutor and book a free trial where the child works on a real topic, with a parent welcome to watch.

Each class is a video call with a shared board. The pupil attempts questions, photographs the page of working and sends it across for marking; a brief note after the class records what was done, what is shaky and what to practise.

If the match is poor we change the tutor, and if the time is awkward we change the slot. All tutors teach on Indian Standard Time.

Equipment is simple: a laptop or tablet, earphones if the house is noisy, and a connection that survives a video call.

Where we tutor

Samalkha and GT Road areas our online tutors serve

Teaching is by video, so none of these places needs a tutor to travel. The notes record how each area's schooling and routine shape the best time for a lesson.

Samalkha town

The old town and its mandi, where many households run shops or small factories and children study after the shutters come down.

GT Road and NH 44 belt

The highway strip lined with works and warehouses; school buses run long routes, so home study saves time.

Panipat

The district headquarters nineteen kilometres north, a textile and refinery city with a bigger school and coaching market.

Israna

A town in Panipat district with its own schools and a farming base, where specialist subjects are scarce.

Bapoli

A smaller town west of the highway whose students often rely on private study beyond Class 10.

Gannaur

A Sonipat-district town on NH 44 midway to Delhi, linked to Samalkha by commuting families.

Murthal

Known for its roadside eateries and engineering university, the area attracts students and young professionals.

Sonipat

The city thirty-two kilometres south, home to Ashoka University and O.P. Jindal Global University.

Kharkhoda

An industrial town in the south of Sonipat district where families look to Delhi for higher education.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Samalkha

Samalkha and Panipat district

Local schooling follows the Haryana board and CBSE, supported by private colleges. We could not confirm an IB or IGCSE campus in the district, so students of those syllabuses study at home with an online tutor.

    Nearby: Sonipat

Sonipat is the closest city to the south and is better known for its universities than for school boards. We could not confirm an IB or IGCSE school there and name none.

      Nearby: Delhi and the NCR

Delhi, Noida and Gurugram are 70 to 100 kilometres away and hold the largest cluster of international schools within reach. Some Samalkha families consider relocation or boarding there.

      • The British School, New Delhi
      • Shiv Nadar School, Noida
      • Pathways World School, Aravali

No school in Samalkha is listed as an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school because none could be confirmed. The NCR campuses below are named only to describe options some families consider; they have no connection with IB Gram and are not within our home-visit area from Samalkha.

      Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Samalkha: your questions answered

Do you have IB and IGCSE tutors for Samalkha?+

We do, on a screen. Each tutor gives live private lessons suited to your child's IB or IGCSE course, and the pupil stays in their own Samalkha home. No tutor travels to Samalkha, since face-to-face tuition is offered only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Your first class costs nothing.

Samalkha is in the NCR, so can a tutor visit?+

No. Although Samalkha lies in the wider National Capital Region, our home visits cover only Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and Samalkha is not among them. Families here get online home tuition: the child studies at home and the tutor teaches over live video.

Is there an IB school in Samalkha or Panipat?+

We could not confirm one. Schools in the district follow the Haryana board or CBSE. The nearest established international schools are in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram. Check the IB and Cambridge directories for any new approval before enrolling anywhere.

What will IB tuition cost for my child?+

The rate depends on level, subject, tutor and weekly frequency, so we do not publish one. After the free trial class we send a written quote. Online delivery removes fuel and travel costs, and exam-season blocks can be priced separately.

Can my child take IGCSE next to a Haryana board school?+

Plenty of pupils do. School fills the day, IGCSE classes follow in the evening, and exams are entered privately. The combined workload is real, which is why Class 8 or 9 is a better starting point than Class 10, and why a short subject list is wise.

      Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE?+

Both are widely respected. Cambridge offers more subjects and three sessions a year, while Edexcel is popular in Mathematics and sciences and phrases questions differently. The exam centre available to you and the subject mix usually decide.

Will tutors write the IA or Extended Essay?+

Never. What they do is unpack the marking criteria, react to drafts and help a pupil organise ideas. Producing or rewriting any assessed work, whether an IA, an Extended Essay, a TOK essay or coursework, is outside what a tutor may do, and the pupil must submit their own writing.

How are IB Maths AA and AI different?+

The two share a name but not a syllabus. AA concentrates on algebra, calculus and proof; AI concentrates on statistics, modelling and technology. Whichever your child studies, at HL or SL, we look for a tutor who has already taught it and has the past papers ready.

      What equipment is needed?+

One laptop or tablet with a working camera, internet that copes with video, a notebook and a calm corner of the house will do. A phone is useful for sending photographs of written work. Should the connection be shaky, we set up a hotspot or a recording as a fallback before term starts.

Do classes continue in foggy winter weeks?+

Mostly. Fog does not stop a video lesson, although bad weather can trip the power. A spare slot is kept in reserve and a recording is shared if a class is lost. Quite a few families move winter classes to mid-morning or early evening.

Can my child switch from the Haryana board to IB later?+

Yes; the smoothest moments are the ends of Class 8 and Class 10. Tutors line up the two syllabuses, fill any holes and train the IB style of reasoning. Entering the Diploma itself needs a school that offers it, most likely in the NCR, so tutoring can start months earlier.

Are you affiliated with the IB, Cambridge or Pearson?+

We are not. IB Gram is a stand-alone tutoring business, with no authority as a school, exam centre or admissions adviser, and nothing here implies backing from the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school mentioned. What we sell is teaching and exam coaching.

How do I register for IGCSE exams privately?+

An authorised centre files the entry for you, most often one in Delhi or another big city, some months before the series. Prices and closing dates differ by centre. We lay out the timetable and subject codes so that you can ask the centre the right questions.

What if the tutor is not a good fit?+

Say so, and a replacement follows without any fee. We first find out what did not work, such as speed or teaching style, and then suggest a different person, offering a further short trial if you want one. Chemistry between pupil and tutor counts for more than loyalty.

Can we arrange classes around business hours at home?+

Usually yes. Tutors teach on Indian Standard Time and many offer early-morning, evening and weekend slots. Tell us your household routine, including shop or factory hours, and we will build the timetable around it.

      How can I begin?+

Send a WhatsApp message to +91 7439 368 115, or an email to support@ibgram.com, stating the class, board, subjects and exam date. Expect a tutor suggestion and a trial time back, normally the same or the next day.
