IB and IGCSE Tutors in Sailu (Selu): Private Tuition from Home, Online

If you are searching for IB or IGCSE home tuition in Sailu, here is what it looks like: your child at the family desk, a tutor on a laptop screen, one lesson at a time. No IB Gram tutor visits homes in Maharashtra, since home teaching is offered only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and nothing we checked shows an IB or Cambridge school in Selu taluka. The tutor is often the only person near your child who has taught the syllabus. The first lesson is free.

  • Every tutor is chosen for the exact IB course and level, or IGCSE code and tier
  • Live video lessons, one student at a time, with no visits to homes in Sailu
  • A free first lesson and a written quote before any commitment
  • No link to any school, examining body or institution mentioned on this page

IB & IGCSE in Sailu

An IB or IGCSE question from a Marathwada railway town

Sailu, which most Marathwada families write as Selu, is a municipal town in the Selu taluka of Parbhani district, about 50 km from Parbhani city and 415 m above sea level. It sits on NH 548B, the trunk road that runs from Mantha through Selu, Pathri, Sonpeth, Parli Vaijnath and Ambajogai to Latur, and its railway station is on the Mudkhed to Manmad section, where the Sachkhand Express has stopped since 2019.

The town's own schooling is familiar Maharashtra: schools such as Nutan Vidyalaya and Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, and Bordikar College of Agriculture for those who stay on the land. Selu also appears in Sai Baba's story, as the place where tradition says he lived with his guru. In a town like this, an IB or IGCSE question rarely starts in a classroom. It starts with a transfer to Pune or Hyderabad, a cousin in Canada, or a daughter who hopes to study medicine abroad.

We found no school in Sailu, or anywhere in Selu taluka, that is authorised for the IB or entered for Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE, and the larger Marathwada cities nearby, Parbhani and Aurangabad, have none we could confirm either. The nearest confirmed schools are in Pune, Hyderabad and Nagpur, each many hours away. Most students therefore keep a State Board or CBSE school and add IGCSE subjects privately, or move the whole family.

IB and IGCSE tutors in Sailu fill that gap by teaching live, one to one and entirely online, on Indian Standard Time, matched to the exact IB course or IGCSE code. No tutor visits homes here; teaching at a family's house is offered only in Gurugram and some areas of Delhi NCR. IB Gram is not a school, is unconnected to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel or any institution named on this page, and never drafts a student's assessed work.

At a glance

  • No school in Selu taluka could be confirmed for IB or Cambridge
  • Parbhani and Aurangabad have none we could confirm either
  • Teaching is live and online; no tutor visits homes in Sailu
  • The first lesson is free and the rate comes in writing
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Sailu school years

Each IB stage can be taught to a Sailu student by video, though no IB classroom nearby turned up in our checks. The notes below describe how families in the taluka tend to use the support: to bridge a move, to teach a subject from scratch, or to sit beside a State Board or CBSE school year.

PYPEarly years to Class 5, ages 3 through 12

IB Primary Years Programme

Children learn through inquiry into themes such as how the world works and sharing the planet, ending in an Exhibition they plan themselves.

In Sailu this is mainly for families who lived in a metro city or abroad and do not want a young child to lose the habit of asking why once they settle back in Marathwada.

MYPClass 6 through Class 10, ages 11 through 16

IB Middle Years Programme

Teaching spans eight subject groups, with marks awarded against criteria in each, and a Personal Project that the student runs alone in the final year.

Here MYP support is usually about a move between schools: a State Board student starting at an MYP school in Pune, or the reverse.

DPClass 11 and Class 12, ages 16 through 19

IB Diploma Programme

The Diploma combines six subjects, three at Higher Level, with Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word Extended Essay and creativity, activity and service hours; final exams in May or November carry most of the weight.

A Diploma student with a Sailu address is almost always enrolled in another city, so tutoring comes in bursts: holidays, before mocks and ahead of IA deadlines.

CPClass 11 and Class 12, ages 16 through 19

IB Career-related Programme

The Career-related Programme blends at least two Diploma courses with a practical qualification, a reflective project and a skills strand.

We rarely hear about CP from Selu taluka; the few enquiries weigh it against staying on the State Board.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

With no Diploma teacher in town, a tutor here often teaches a course from its first unit. Language courses are checked against what a student's school or online provider offers, and for Marathi or Urdu speakers taking Hindi B we start from the level the student already has.

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL / SL

Builds the chain from algebra to calculus and proof step by step, then trains speed on the non-calculator paper.

IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL / SL

Makes the graphic calculator an ally for statistics and modelling, and gets the Exploration topic agreed early.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Turns the five themes into worked problems and teaches the uncertainty and graphing habits the investigation needs.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Covers structure and reactivity in the order the course builds them, with mole and equilibrium calculations drilled for speed.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Ties the four themes together, from unity and diversity to continuity and change, and practises data-based questions.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Teaches diagram habits, real-world examples and the evaluation language that lifts a mark.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Works through unseen case studies and the numeric tools, and shapes the internal assessment into a focused study.

IB English A: Language and Literature

HL / SL

Practises close reading of unseen texts, comparative essays and the recorded oral.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

Builds reading, writing and speaking for students whose home language is Marathi or Urdu, using exam-format tasks.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Pairs programming practice with the theory papers and plans the IA product in stages.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Connects the approaches to behaviour with the studies examiners expect, and rehearses long-answer structure.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Gives case studies real detail, coaches data skills and structures the fieldwork report.

IB History

HL / SL

Sharpens source analysis and essay argument.

IB Environmental Systems and Societies

SL

Uses systems diagrams and local-to-global cases, with evaluative writing.

Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay

DP Core

Helps frame knowledge questions and narrow an Extended Essay topic; the writing stays the student's.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Whether a Sailu family ends up with Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel usually depends on the exam centre it can reach in Pune, Hyderabad or another large city. Lessons follow the syllabus code, tier and series on the entry form, because the boards ask for different things.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

A steady past-paper routine with working shown clearly, so method marks are not lost.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Extended only

Adds algebraic depth and a first look at calculus before IB or A Level maths.

Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Drills Edexcel's own wording and mark scheme at Higher tier for students who have studied another board.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Turns formulae, circuits and waves into confident answers, including the written practical paper.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Makes the mole concept, reactivity series and organic names routine.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Builds genetics and ecology answers with the data handling the paper rewards.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Core / Extended

Builds diagrams, calculations and evaluation answers.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Core / Extended

Shows how to apply ideas to a case rather than recite definitions.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Single tier

Takes students from flowcharts to pseudocode and working programming logic.

IGCSE English as a Second Language 0510

Core / Extended

Gives all four skills steady practice for school, exams and applications.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Sailu school timetables

Every lesson for a Sailu student is live video, one to one. The three plans below differ only in how often lessons happen and what they aim at; none involves a tutor travelling to your door.

One evening a week

A standing slot with the same tutor, working steadily through what your child's syllabus demands.

  • A single tutor who learns your child's habits
  • A brief summary sent after class
  • Easy to reschedule around exams and festivals
  • A trial lesson opens the arrangement

Exam-month intensives

More frequent lessons for the weeks around IGCSE series, Diploma mocks and the May papers, built from marked past papers.

  • Extra sessions on top of the weekly one
  • Questions marked to the official scheme
  • Good for students back from boarding
  • Finishes when the exams do

Drafts and deadlines

Short meetings while a graded task is underway, such as an IA, essay or coursework piece, where the tutor asks and the student answers in writing.

  • Shaping a workable question
  • Measuring drafts against the criteria
  • The student's voice throughout
  • Only when a task needs it

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Sailu

01

What IB and IGCSE options exist around Sailu, and where do families turn?

  • No IB or Cambridge school in Selu taluka, Parbhani or Aurangabad could be confirmed
  • Three routes: boarding, relocation, or private IGCSE beside a local school
  • Ask any school for its IB number or Cambridge centre number
  • The tutor is usually the nearest teacher of the exact syllabus

Locally, none that we could confirm. The Sailu schools we could identify follow the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE, Parbhani and Aurangabad have no confirmed IB or Cambridge school either, and the nearest authorised ones are in Pune, Hyderabad and Nagpur. A school claiming otherwise should be asked for its IB school number or Cambridge centre number, which takes a minute to check with the IB or Cambridge directly.

Families answer that gap in three ways. One is boarding: a Class 9 or Class 11 student leaves for an international school in Pune, often a Diploma place. Another is a move of the whole household to Pune, Mumbai or Hyderabad, usually triggered by a job. The third is to stay put, finish the State Board or CBSE, and study IGCSE subjects privately for the extra depth and the international recognition.

Who asks from here? Often parents whose relatives work in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, the Gulf or North America, teachers and officers posted to Selu taluka, and farm-business families whose children want a route abroad. The tutor's first task is simple: learn which syllabus, tier and exam window the child is actually on, because that decides everything else.

02

Maharashtra State Board, CBSE, IGCSE or IB: what should a Sailu family weigh?

Start with how Maharashtra splits school. The State Board runs the SSC exam at Class 10 and the HSC at Class 12, and Classes 11 and 12 are taught in junior colleges, so a Sailu child who finishes Class 10 changes institution at 16. CBSE, IGCSE and the IB Diploma keep a student in one school throughout, which is one reason families compare them.

What each exam rewards differs too. State Board papers lean on recall in a familiar layout. IGCSE and the IB ask for explanation, data interpretation and independent work, and they grade against published criteria. A student strong in content can still lose marks by answering the wrong question, which a tutor who has marked those papers will spot quickly.

Indian admissions remain open whichever route is chosen. AIU equivalence certificates put the IB Diploma on a par with Class 12 and IGCSE on a par with Class 10, and entrance routes such as MHT-CET, JEE, NEET and CUET have their own subject and eligibility rules that should be checked against the latest notices before subjects are chosen.

03

What decides the fee for IB or IGCSE tuition in Sailu?

  • Ask who the tutor is and which syllabus they have actually taught
  • Ask how the fee is fixed and whether it is given in writing
  • Ask how progress is reported and how often
  • Ask what happens if you want to stop or change tutor

IB Gram does not publish a price list, because a fair fee depends on the student and the course. It is worked out from four things: how scarce the tutor's specialism is, the subject and level, how many lessons a week you want, and how close the exam is. You see the figure in writing before the trial lesson, and no long contract follows.

Scarcity moves the number most. Tutors who have taught Higher Level sciences or Maths AA recently are fewer than those comfortable with IGCSE Core, so their rates differ. A Class 9 student building foundations is a different assignment from a Diploma student with a term to the May papers, and the match, not just the hours, is what you are paying for.

Frequency and timing change the total. One weekly lesson across a school year is priced differently from daily sessions in the last month, and a boarding student who is in Sailu only for Diwali and the summer break may prefer a block to a weekly slot. The plan is agreed first; the fee follows it.

Online lessons also save what a Marathwada family notices at once: fuel, bus fares and hours on NH 548B to reach a class in Latur or Aurangabad. Whoever you choose, ask who marks the papers, how feedback reaches you and what happens if the fit is wrong.

04

Online tutor, Latur-style coaching, local classes or self-study: how do they compare?

For an IB or IGCSE student, a matched online tutor usually suits the syllabus more closely than the alternatives, which were built for other exams or sit far from Selu.

Latur, down NH 548B, has a reputation across Marathwada for plus-two science and entrance coaching, and Aurangabad and Nanded run similar batches. They are aimed at the State Board, JEE and NEET, which a student on IGCSE Physics or IB Biology cannot follow without the syllabus mismatch costing time and money.

A local teacher or college graduate can explain core content at a fair price. The gap is familiarity with how IB and IGCSE examiners mark: what earns a full mark on a practical question, how long an extended answer should be, what a strong internal assessment looks like.

Self-study with past papers is realistic for a disciplined student and costs little. It is weakest on assessed work, where a second reader sees what the writer cannot. A weekly tutor can be that reader while the student keeps making the decisions.

05

Marathwada's heat, rain and festival calendar, and how to plan exams around it

Start with the weather. Parbhani district has recorded 45 °C in May, just as IB Diploma papers begin, and averages close to 1,000 mm of rain a year that falls unevenly between June and September. A student revising in April and May needs a cool room, a fan that works and a timetable that avoids the afternoon. Winters are mild, though December nights can turn chilly.

Then the farm calendar. The kharif harvest from October overlaps with Diwali and with the November IB session, which matters in farming households where older children are needed at home. Soybean and cotton prices also set the mood of the household budget, and some families delay a large spend until the crop is sold.

Festivals move the school calendar several times a year: Gudi Padwa in March or April, Ganeshotsav for ten days in August or September, Navratri and Dussehra in autumn, the long Diwali break and Makar Sankranti in January. Eid and Muharram shift earlier each year. Count the exam windows instead of trusting memory: the IB has two, Cambridge two main series, and Edexcel three in selected subjects.

MonthsWhat shapes the week locallyWhat is due

06

After Class 12: where can a Sailu student go with an IB or IGCSE profile?

Within India, the Diploma counts like Class 12 for admission purposes, so a student can register for CUET-UG and apply to central and state universities. Marathwada has its own: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University in Nanded, and Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth at Parbhani for agriculture.

Maharashtra's technical and medical routes need attention. MHT-CET governs state engineering and pharmacy seats, NEET governs medicine, and JEE Main and Advanced govern the IITs and NITs. Each has subject, eligibility and domicile rules, and an IB student should match Higher and Standard Level choices to the latest notices before Class 11 begins.

Abroad, UK offers come on predicted and final Diploma points with named subject grades, Canada and Australia read Diploma or Class 12 results with English-language scores, and US applications add SAT or ACT scores and essays. With relatives in these countries, families often ask what subjects keep options open; for many engineering and science degrees, strong Higher Level Mathematics with Physics or Chemistry keeps the most doors open.

07

IA and Exploration ideas that fit a Marathwada town

The strongest Internal Assessments start from something the student can see and measure, and Sailu offers plenty. Soil pH and nutrient levels on a farm plot, seed germination under different watering, the hardness or acidity of well and dam water near the Lower Dudhana project, or the cooling of different roof materials in May heat all make workable Chemistry, Biology, Physics or ESS investigations. The tutor helps test whether a question is narrow enough; the student designs, measures and writes.

For Mathematics, local rainfall or crop-price records make honest Exploration material. A student can model monthly rainfall, compare price changes for soybean and cotton, or analyse bus and train timetables along NH 548B and the Mudkhed to Manmad line. IB and IGCSE tutors in Sailu can guide the choice of method, but the data, the calculations and the commentary belong to the student.

Economics, Business Management and Geography invite the same local thinking. A small business near the station, a cooperative buying cotton, irrigation and water use near the dam, or the effect of a rail stoppage on a market town are all subjects where firsthand evidence is easier to gather than in a city, provided the student keeps a record of sources and permissions.

Two cautions apply. A topic should be small enough to finish in a few weeks and measurable with equipment actually available, and any human or animal participants need ethical care. Choosing well in Class 11 leaves time to revise, which is why we start the conversation about topics early.

08

IGCSE subject choices and exam entry from a town without a centre

IGCSE students in Sailu enter as private candidates, which means registering through an authorised exam centre in a larger city and travelling there for the papers. Centres set their own registration deadlines well before each series, so finding one comes before choosing a start date. It also fixes the board, since not every centre offers both Cambridge and Edexcel.

Tiers deserve a timed trial. In Cambridge Mathematics, Core tops out at C and Extended reaches A*; in Edexcel, Foundation and Higher do a similar job. A student who may take IB Maths AA or A Level sciences should usually aim for Extended or Higher, and a paper from each tier shows which is realistic.

Subject mix should suit the next step. Mathematics with Additional Mathematics, plus the sciences, suits future engineers and doctors; Economics and Business Studies suit commerce-minded students; English as a Second Language helps every student who plans to apply abroad. Computer Science fits students who already code.

The practical papers need planning. Cambridge assesses practical skills through a hands-on test or the written Alternative to Practical paper, and a student with no laboratory can lose marks on the second. We rehearse tables, graphs and control-of-variables questions until unfamiliar experiments feel routine.

Where we tutor

Sailu, Selu taluka and the towns along NH 548B

A lesson needs a desk and a connection, not a commute, so the places below matter mainly for the school day, the road out and the tutoring options on offer nearby. They show how we plan around a family's timetable.

Around Selu railway station

The station side of town, on the Mudkhed to Manmad line. A student who travels by train for school or coaching can start a lesson after getting home.

Near Nutan Vidyalaya

One of the town's named schools. Lessons here are timed for the gap between the school day and evening study.

Near Vivekanand Vidya Mandir

Another named school area, where an online IGCSE subject can sit beside the regular timetable.

Bordikar College of Agriculture

The agricultural college campus. Staff and students from other districts may need help with a syllabus begun elsewhere.

NH 548B towards Mantha

The north-western road into Jalna district, used by families who look to Jalna and Aurangabad for schools.

NH 548B towards Pathri and Parli

The south-eastern road through Pathri, Sonpeth, Parli Vaijnath and Ambajogai to Latur, the route to Marathwada's coaching towns.

Pathri

The neighbouring taluka town, where the Sai Janmasthan temple stands. The same online lessons reach students there.

Parbhani city

About 50 km away: the district headquarters, the agricultural university and most exam and coaching centres in the district.

Jintur and Manwath

Neighbouring taluka towns in Parbhani district, served by the same online tutors.

Villages near the Lower Dudhana dam

Farm families here plan study around the crop calendar and often have no tutor within reach.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Sailu

Inside Sailu and Selu taluka: none confirmed

The State Board and CBSE appear to dominate local schooling, and no school could be tied to IB or Cambridge authorisation, so this list stays empty.

Nearby: Parbhani and Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar)

The bigger cities within reach. Our own pages for them record no confirmed IB or Cambridge school, so they help with State Board and CBSE choices rather than an international curriculum.

      Further: Pune (boarding)

Where many Marathwada families who want the Diploma look, usually with boarding.

      • Mahindra United World College of India (IB Diploma, boarding)
      • International School Aamby (IB PYP to DP, boarding)

      Further: Hyderabad and Nagpur

Both can be reached by rail or a long road trip, and each has confirmed IB provision.

      • Oakridge International School, Hyderabad (IB and CBSE)
      • D Y Patil International School, MIHAN, Nagpur

IB Gram is an independent online tutoring business. It has no tie to any school below, nor to the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge International Education or Pearson Edexcel. The schools are named only so families can see where Marathwada students go when they leave the region.

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Sailu: your questions answered

How do I find IB and IGCSE tutors in Sailu (Selu)?+

Write to IB Gram with your child's programme, subject and level, and we match a tutor who has taught that exact course. Since nothing we checked shows an IB or IGCSE school in Selu taluka, the match is built around whatever route your child is on, whether a boarding school, an online school or private IGCSE study. The first lesson is free.

Is there an IB or Cambridge school in Sailu or Selu taluka?+

We could not confirm one. Local schools, among them Nutan Vidyalaya and Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, could not be linked to IB or Cambridge authorisation, and Parbhani and Aurangabad have none we could verify either. The nearest confirmed schools are in Pune, Hyderabad and Nagpur. If a school says it is authorised, ask for its IB number or Cambridge centre number and check it directly.

Can IB Gram send a tutor to my house in Sailu?+

No. Teaching at a family's house is offered only in Gurugram and some areas of Delhi NCR, so every lesson in Sailu is live video, one student at a time. You need a laptop or tablet, headphones and a quiet spot. We explain this before booking so the first lesson holds no surprises.

How is tuition priced, and is there a published rate?+

There is no published rate, because the fee depends on the tutor's specialism, the subject and level, the number of weekly lessons and how near the exam is. Your quote arrives in writing before the trial lesson, and no long contract follows. Being online, it also avoids the fuel and travel costs of a class in Latur or Aurangabad.

What happens in the free trial lesson?+

Your child takes a real lesson with the tutor who would teach them, on a topic from their own syllabus. At the end the tutor proposes a short plan, and you decide whether to continue, adjust it or meet a different tutor. There is no fee and no obligation, and nothing is lost if you stop.

Which exam sessions matter for a Sailu student?+

It depends on the route. The IB Diploma sits in May, with a November session. Cambridge IGCSE has a summer series and an autumn series, and Edexcel offers January, summer and November papers in selected subjects. For a student in Marathwada the May papers coincide with the hottest weeks, so revision should run early and indoors.

My child is on the Maharashtra State Board. Should they move to IGCSE or add subjects?+

Adding IGCSE subjects privately is the lower-risk start, and Class 9 is a good point. It builds answer-writing skills without leaving the local school. A full move needs a school or exam centre that offers IGCSE, which in practice means another city. A tutor can bridge the content and exam-style gap, but settle the entry route first.

Does an IB or IGCSE profile work for MHT-CET, JEE and NEET?+

Often yes, but eligibility depends on the subject combination, the equivalence certificate and each exam's current rules, and Maharashtra's MHT-CET also has domicile conditions. Check the latest notices before choosing Higher and Standard Levels. Our tutors can help map where the IB or IGCSE course overlaps with the NCERT-based syllabus, though we do not run entrance coaching.

Will a tutor write or edit my child's IA?+

No. Tutors can discuss a question, explain the criteria and react to a draft, but they never write or rewrite assessed work. The student's own words are what the examiners require, and work that is not the student's can put the qualification at risk. Good coaching leaves the student able to explain every choice made.

What if the internet or power drops during a lesson?+

Keep a phone hotspot ready, charge the laptop before the lesson and tell the tutor if the line drops; the session is rescheduled, not lost. Tutors can send written solutions so one outage does not cost a week. During monsoon storms or pre-monsoon heat cuts, we can move lessons to early morning or late evening.

How do we choose between Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE?+

Usually the exam centre decides: the centre you can reach in Pune, Hyderabad or another large city may offer one board or both. If both are available, compare a past paper from each in the same subject. Edexcel papers are tiered in Mathematics and worded in a UK style; Cambridge offers Core and Extended. Pick before lessons start.

Can lessons be in Marathi or Hindi?+

Lessons run in English, since every IB and IGCSE paper is set in English. Where tutor and student share Hindi, a hard idea can be explained in it. We cannot promise Marathi, so if that matters to your child, tell us when you write and we will say honestly what is possible before a trial lesson is arranged.

Do you teach students in Pathri, Jintur, Manwath and the villages nearby?+

Yes. Lessons are online, so a student in Pathri, Jintur, Manwath or a village near the Lower Dudhana dam gets the same service as one in Sailu. The only local question is connection quality, which we test in the first lesson. Nobody has to travel to Parbhani or Aurangabad to find a tutor.

      When should we start?+

For IGCSE, the start of Class 9 leaves the most time to build foundations before the Core or Extended decision. For the Diploma, the first term of Class 11 sets the pace for two years, so early help in Maths and the sciences pays off. Later help still lifts results, but it works on top of a steady routine.

Is IB Gram linked to any school or examining body?+

No. IB Gram is a separate tutoring business with no ownership, management or partnership tie to any school, to the International Baccalaureate, to Cambridge International Education or to Pearson Edexcel. The schools and institutions on this page are there for context only, and none of them recommends or is connected with IB Gram.
