IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Safipur

Safipur, the tehsil town 27 km north-west of Unnao that grew around the shrine of Makhdum Shah Safi, makes steel boxes, almirahs, furniture and incense sticks, and sits between the Lucknow and Kanpur school markets without belonging to either. A child here who needs private tuition from home for the IB or IGCSE gets a live one-to-one video lesson, since tutors do not visit houses in Safipur and no school in town teaches these courses.

  • You get a teacher who has handled your child's exact IB subject and level, or the Cambridge or Edexcel code on the school list
  • Teaching is by screen; a tutor at the door is a Gurugram and Delhi NCR service that does not extend to Safipur
  • The first class is free and a written plan follows before you commit to anything
  • No connection with any Safipur school, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson

IB & IGCSE in Safipur

How IB and IGCSE tuition reaches a family in Safipur

Safipur is a nagar panchayat and tehsil headquarters in Unnao district, home to 25,688 people at the 2011 census on a compact 8.5 square kilometres, 129 metres above sea level. Its best-known building is the dargah of Makhdum Shah Safi, and its workshops turn out steel boxes, almirahs, furniture and incense. Schooling follows the Uttar Pradesh Board or CBSE, and we could not verify any IB World School or Cambridge or Edexcel centre in town, so none is named.

The families who ask are rarely the obvious ones. A workshop owner whose brother runs a business in Dubai may want options for a daughter. A government employee posted to the tehsil may arrive with a child already inside an international curriculum. A parent who has watched cousins move through Lucknow's private schools may wonder whether the IB would suit a quieter, more reflective child better than a single board paper.

Whatever the reason, a tutor does not need to live nearby. People who taught Cambridge Physics or IB Economics this year work in many Indian cities, and a camera puts them at the Safipur study table. Visits to houses are not made here, because in-person home tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR; what Safipur receives is private tuition from home, online.

IB Gram has no affiliation with the IB Organization, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, the Uttar Pradesh Board or any school in Unnao district. Tutors teach, set exercises, mark them and give comments on drafts, but the Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework a student submits has to be that student's own writing.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Safipur school years

No school in Safipur teaches an IB programme, so each one reaches a family from outside, whether through a cousin's school in Lucknow, a boarding place, a posting or a plan to leave the state board. The notes below show what a tutor does at each stage for a child based in Unnao district.

PYPClass Nursery-5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Imagine a primary class that spends six weeks on one question, such as why people build markets where they do, and draws on reading, counting, science and geography to answer it. That is PYP, and it ends in a group Exhibition. No external exam sits on top, so a tutor's job is quiet: fluent English reading, easy number sense and the courage to explain a result aloud.

A Safipur child needing PYP support is usually about to enter a school in Lucknow, Kanpur or abroad, so the first lessons build spoken English and reading stamina.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

MYP replaces one percentage with four criterion grades per subject, and a Class 8 task might ask a student to design and justify a fair test, not recall one. Many schools end the programme with a Personal Project. Pupils from the Uttar Pradesh Board usually hold plenty of facts and lose marks by listing them where analysis was wanted.

MYP tutoring for Safipur families clusters in the Diwali break and the long summer holiday, when a boarder is home and the heat keeps everyone indoors.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

A Diploma student carries six subjects, three at the higher level, plus Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay and a record of creative and service work. The exams sit in May and November, and 45 is the top total. Because most subjects hide an internal assessment worth a fifth to a third of the grade, the two years need a calendar from the first month.

A Diploma student linked to Safipur studies in another city, so the tutor works to that school's mock dates and internal deadlines.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

In the Career-related route a student keeps two or three Diploma courses and adds a vocational study and a reflective project. It suits someone who already knows the trade or profession they want, and India has few schools offering it. The academic subjects are taught at Diploma depth.

For a town of craftsmen and small manufacturers, a practical route can sound attractive, yet any CP enquiry depends on a school elsewhere running it.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Enquiries from Safipur tend to be concrete: Economics HL for a manufacturer's son, Chemistry for a future pharmacist, Maths before a Class 9 entry to an IGCSE school. We take the subject, level and exam date first and search for the tutor afterwards.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, calculus and proof. Students from the Uttar Pradesh Board are quick at routine algebra and need practice in setting out a complete chain of reasoning.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics and modelling on a graphic calculator, with an exploration that might analyse the cost of steel sheet or a workshop's monthly output.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, thermal physics and fields, with extra time on uncertainty and on joining several ideas into one answer.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Quantitative methods first, then organic routes and equilibrium, helped by a reaction map drawn by the student.

IB Biology

HL / SL

A large syllabus tackled by recall cycles, diagram practice and exact answers to command terms.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Costs, pricing and small-firm competition become real when the examples are steel almirahs, furniture and incense sticks.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case studies plus an internal project on a real workshop or shop, with every sentence written by the student.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Timed commentary on unseen texts for students who speak Hindi, Awadhi or Urdu at home.

IB Hindi A Literature

HL / SL

A home-language choice, with set works read closely and a comparative essay unlike a board answer.

IB Urdu A Literature

HL / SL

For students from Urdu-speaking families, subject to tutor availability and school support.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithm design and databases on paper, and a program that runs for the internal project.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

The named studies and models, then the evaluation that earns the marks, written out as full answers under time.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Case studies with place, date and figure, drawing on the Ganga plain, small-town industry and urban growth around Lucknow.

IB History

HL / SL

Source analysis and essay planning; the Nawabi-era heritage of Awadh gives a local anchor.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

A Safipur student usually comes to the IGCSE through a school in a bigger city, or as a possibility weighed before Class 9. Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel give every subject a code and a tier, so the first lesson begins from whatever is printed on the school's own list.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended punishes slow algebra and skipped steps, while Core rewards neat method and checked arithmetic; the tier chosen shapes the year.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Differentiation, functions and trigonometry brought forward, so Diploma Maths later feels like a continuation.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Moving symbols around a formula while the units stay correct is the daily exercise, and the written paper that stands in for lab work is practised separately.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, bonding and electrolysis built from worked cases, with tests for ions and gases given their own sessions.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Organ systems, genes and ecosystems, with every written answer sized to the marks on offer.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Definitions, diagrams and data response using small-town manufacturing examples.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Pseudocode is written first and Python typed afterwards, so the student learns both to plan a solution and to debug a real program.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Letters, reports and descriptions aimed at a named reader, plus summary work, each piece returned with remarks on tone and word choice.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Grade 9-10

Comprehension plus the letter, report and essay formats the paper requires, a useful base for students studying mostly in English.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Short business scenarios linked to theory, then longer questions of the same pattern.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Safipur school timetables

Every lesson uses the same kit, a screen, a shared page and a tutor who knows the course. Families differ in how often they meet and how near an exam they are, which gives three common shapes.

Once a week, same hour

One slot in the week, picked to suit the household, with the same tutor each time. Sunday morning and the hour after school are the favourites in Safipur.

  • The tutor is found by syllabus; where they live does not matter
  • Works as well for the Diploma as for MYP or IGCSE
  • Practice questions are marked while you are on the call
  • You build a relationship with one teacher

Once a week, with a written log

The weekly hour carries on, and each class ends with a few lines saying what was done. Every month or so there is a longer look at progress, written for parents new to IB and Cambridge vocabulary.

  • A log entry follows every lesson
  • The longer review can change the plan
  • A calmer tempo for younger children
  • Extra slots before mocks are a message away

A run-up to the exam

Closer to a sitting the lessons bunch together and revolve around timed papers and quick comments, with foggy mornings and festival weeks kept clear of the diary.

  • Practice papers run to the clock and use the real mark scheme
  • Written comments are back in days
  • Muharram, Eid and Diwali weeks are left empty
  • Agree the block about two weeks beforehand

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Safipur

01

Who in Safipur and Unnao district asks about the IB and IGCSE?

  • No IB or IGCSE school confirmed in Safipur or Unnao district
  • Enquiries come from workshop, official and boarding families
  • Online matching turns the whole country into the tutor pool
  • Examiners mark a script identically whatever its town of origin

Safipur's schools follow the Uttar Pradesh Board or CBSE, as do most in Unnao district. We found none carrying IB World School status or Cambridge or Edexcel approval. That is the honest starting point, and it shapes who contacts us: people who have met these courses through somebody else.

Workshop and trading families are one group. A maker of steel almirahs in Safipur may have a brother in the Gulf and a nephew in a Lucknow private school, and talk at weddings turns to what that school teaches. Another group is public-sector staff posted to the tehsil for a few years, whose children arrive mid-syllabus. A third is parents with a gifted child who dislikes rote learning.

Because geography matters less online, these households can draw on tutors in Lucknow, Kanpur or Pune without the child leaving Safipur. A shared whiteboard works the same from 27 km away or 2,700 km away. The papers are also marked the same way everywhere, so what the student needs is practice with the style, which a weekly tutor supplies.

A fair question is whether this is worthwhile when no local school teaches the courses. For boarders, for families planning a move, and for those testing an idea before enrolment elsewhere, the answer is usually yes, provided the first step is a trial lesson instead of a contract.

02

How is the Uttar Pradesh Board different from CBSE, the IB and IGCSE?

  • The opening verb of each question tells you what to write
  • English paragraphs need practice against the clock
  • Planning an investigation from a blank page is a learnable skill
  • One real lesson shows whether the style suits the child

A UP Board paper checks that a student can reproduce the textbook accurately and apply it to the usual cases. CBSE leans a little further towards application. The IB and IGCSE keep the content but change the wrapping: a table of fresh data, a two-paragraph case, a policy to be judged. Marks reward the reasoning shown, so the verb that opens each question matters as much as the topic.

The second change is language. A Safipur child may speak Awadhi or Urdu at home, study in Hindi and then face English paragraphs written under time. The science or economics is rarely the barrier; the sentences are. Short, regular writing tasks returned with line-by-line comments close the gap faster than extra reading, and a tutor keeps a running list of key terms in both languages.

Independent work is the third shift. The IB asks every student to design an investigation, collect data and report honestly on it, and IGCSE sciences test practical skill in a separate paper. UP Board practicals are shorter and more tightly scripted. Tutors build the new independence by asking questions.

It would be wrong to say either route wins outright. Someone aiming at an Indian entrance test might be happier where the syllabus mirrors the test, while someone drawn to study abroad or to project-based learning might flourish in the IB. One trial lesson in one subject costs nothing and answers the question quicker than a family debate.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost a family in Safipur?

  • The rate follows level, programme, scarcity and hour length
  • You see a written quote before the sample class
  • No travel bill and no foggy road to Unnao
  • Take one subject, then review after four weeks

No price is printed because any number would mislead somebody. The rate depends on programme and level, on how many people can teach the course, on the length of each hour and on how many lessons a week you want. Higher Level Diploma Maths and sciences usually cost more than IGCSE Core. The rate is written down for you before the sample class.

Two costs a metro family sometimes meets do not arise in Safipur. No tutor travels, so there is no travel line. And nobody rides a shared vehicle to Unnao or Lucknow for a class; in dense winter fog that journey can be slow and risky, and an hour online is safer and kinder to an evening.

Spread the spending out. Choose the subject that bothers you most, keep it going for four weeks and read the notes carefully. Only then think about a second subject. Households that proceed this way learn what the lessons are really doing and generally pay less than those who start with four subjects together.

When you compare providers, find out what each tutor has taught in the last two years and under which board. A person who has supervised Maths Explorations or prepared a class for Edexcel 4PH1 Physics brings knowledge that a general science teacher cannot, and that specific, recent experience is what the fee is paying for.

04

Online tutor, coaching in Unnao or Lucknow, a local teacher or self-study: how should Safipur choose?

  • A laptop and a workable signal are all the kit required
  • Visiting tutors exist in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, nowhere else
  • A lesson at home avoids the fog-bound road to Unnao
  • Past papers from the boards are free; a tutor marking them is what makes them useful

Parents here usually compare four things. Evening classes in Unnao, Lucknow or Kanpur run on state-board and entrance calendars and seldom touch Diploma or IGCSE papers. The tuition teacher round the corner knows your child but has not taught this specification. Free online material is generous but nobody reads what you write. A live tutor chosen for the course offers specialist knowledge and personal feedback in the same hour.

A plain word about format. No tutor will ring your bell in Safipur, because in-person home tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What a Safipur child receives is private tuition from home, online: a laptop, a webcam and a shared page on which the tutor's pen and the student's pen both appear.

The surroundings favour it. Winter fog slows roads and trains across the Gangetic plain, summer heat peaks in May and June, and a monsoon storm can take out the power. A lesson at the study table needs only a charger and a signal, and a mobile hotspot is cheap insurance against a broadband fault.

Do not write off self-study. Syllabuses, past papers and mark schemes are published openly by the IB and Cambridge, and a determined student can learn from them. The one thing a determined student cannot do alone is read a long answer critically, and a weekly hour with a tutor is a cheap way to add that reader.

How do winter fog, urs and festival weeks fit with exam dates for a Safipur student?

  • List exam, mock and holiday dates together before planning anything
  • Use fog and festival weeks for revision and reading
  • Keep the April to June afternoons free of lessons
  • Have a charged laptop and a phone hotspot to hand

First, the exam boards' dates. Diploma papers are sat in May and November, with results in July and January. Cambridge IGCSE series run in June and November, with a March series at some centres, and Pearson Edexcel sits in January, May/June and November. Your child's registered school decides which of these apply.

Then overlay Safipur's year. The annual urs at the dargah of Makhdum Shah Safi brings visitors and busy lanes. Muharram and Eid shape the weeks around them for Muslim households, and Diwali, Dussehra and Chhath do the same for Hindu ones. December and January bring dense fog that delays schools and travel across Unnao district.

The sensible plan treats festivals and fog as fixtures of the year. In those weeks the work is revision notes, vocabulary and slow reading. In the calm stretches between them, the hardest new topics are taught. If the family is off to a wedding, the tutor leaves a paper-only task and the next lesson starts by marking it.

That leaves the heat. May papers fall at the hottest point of the year, so a lesson at dawn or after sunset keeps attention better than one at three in the afternoon. In winter the evenings are cool enough to allow longer sessions.

06

What can a Safipur student study after the IB or IGCSE?

  • The AIU recognises the Diploma as the equal of Class 12
  • Most central universities admit through CUET-UG
  • Test eligibility changes, so read the bulletin again every year
  • Foreign universities also ask for predicted grades and teacher references

Indian universities treat the Diploma as a Class 12 equivalent, thanks to a ruling by the Association of Indian Universities, and central universities usually take applicants through the CUET-UG entrance test, for which an IB student picks the subjects that suit the chosen course. State universities and professional colleges in Uttar Pradesh publish separate conditions, a few of them tied to board marks, so each prospectus should be read in full.

Medicine and engineering need homework done early. The JEE Main and NEET-UG bulletins set conditions on subject combinations and on how an international certificate is treated, and the conditions change. Collect the current bulletins at the start of Class 11, before the six Diploma subjects are final, and remember that Uttar Pradesh counselling has its own rules.

Students from Unnao district most often look at Lucknow, Kanpur and Delhi, each of which has colleges worth a visit. An international certificate leaves those doors open so long as each course's subject requirements are met. Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad also attract a good number of applicants.

Abroad, admissions offices in Britain, North America, Australia, Singapore and much of Europe know how to read an IB transcript, and IGCSE results are accepted as proof of secondary study. They also ask for predicted grades, teacher references and an English-language test. Tutors cover the academic preparation; the school covers counselling and applications.

07

What happens in a week of online Maths and science lessons for a Safipur student?

  • Let the intended degree pick the Maths course
  • Written work held to the camera exposes slips at once
  • Internal assessments are composed by the student, nobody else
  • Simulations and kitchen experiments cover for thin laboratories

Take a Class 11 boy on Maths Analysis and Approaches HL. Tuesday evening, he holds a page of attempted problems up to the camera. At question four the tutor asks him why line two follows from line one, and the two of them mend the argument before setting three look-alike problems for Saturday. Applications and Interpretation, the other Diploma Maths course, relies more on data and technology; the degree he wants will pick between them.

A Physics session in the same week might begin with a past Paper 2 question that links a field, an energy change and a graph. Before touching a calculator the student has to say which principle governs each step, which saves more marks than memorising another formula. Chemistry sessions run on the same pattern using organic routes, and Biology sessions use terminology and labelled diagrams.

Two things never happen here. Nobody has to travel anywhere, and nobody writes the assessed work for the child. The Maths Exploration and the science investigations unfold over many weeks while the tutor asks sharp questions and the student types or writes every line. After each lesson, a note records which skills improved and which still wobble.

Laboratory access worries many small-town parents. Where the school has few lab periods, tutors fill the gap with simulations, saved data from real investigations and safe experiments built from kitchen items, and then coach how to record, analyse and judge results, which is where practical marks are won.

Core or Extended, and which subjects: how should a Safipur family decide on IGCSE?

  • Check what the school actually offers before choosing
  • Choose Extended if algebra is comfortable
  • Build a two-language list of technical words
  • Coursework is guided by questions and written by the student

Everything starts from the list your school publishes. Candidates normally enter between six and ten subjects, drawn from languages, Maths, the sciences and a few electives. If the Diploma might follow, ask whether Additional Maths and separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology can be taken, since both give a head start.

The choice between Core and Extended follows. Core is a lighter syllabus whose top grade is capped; Extended is the entire syllabus and unlocks every grade. A child who enjoys algebra and does not panic against a clock belongs in Extended. A child whose basics are still shaky can sit Core, and some schools allow a move up before the entry deadline, so ask early.

English is the hurdle nobody mentions. A child from a Hindi-medium school may know a science idea only by its Hindi or Urdu name, whereas the examiner expects the English term and a clear sentence. Tutors set up a glossary with both languages side by side and give short written tasks, each marked line by line. For a shaky base, English as a Second Language is a sensible first certificate.

Check the practical side before choosing. Cambridge examines laboratory skill in its sciences with either a hands-on test or a written alternative, Pearson Edexcel splits the marks across its own papers, and Art or Literature may be judged partly on a folder of work. Your tutor reads the specification for the exact code, shows the student what the folder or paper requires, and then asks questions while the student does the writing.

Where we tutor

Safipur and the Unnao-district towns where our online IB and IGCSE tutors already teach

Lessons are online, so these places give context only: which road leads to which bigger market, what fog or a festival does to an evening, and where a family sits in relation to Unnao, Lucknow and Kanpur.

Safipur town

The nagar panchayat and tehsil headquarters, compact and busy, with Uttar Pradesh Board and CBSE schools.

Dargah of Makhdum Shah Safi

The shrine around which the old town grew, and the setting for the annual urs that draws visitors.

Safipur bazaar and sarai quarter

The Nawabi-era market and sarai area, now crowded with workshops and shops.

Workshop lanes

The streets where steel box, almirah and furniture makers work, many of them family businesses.

Unnao

The district headquarters 27 km away, with colleges, hospitals and coaching classes.

Hasanganj

A neighbouring tehsil town, part of the same agricultural and small-industry belt.

Bangarmau

Another tehsil town in the district, often used as a reference for travel and shopping.

Lucknow

The state capital, with the largest school and university market within reach.

Kanpur

The industrial city on the Ganga, whose colleges and hospitals many Unnao families use.

Hardoi

The neighbouring district town to the north, linked by road and by family ties.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Safipur

Safipur and Unnao district

Local schools teach the Uttar Pradesh Board syllabus or CBSE. No IB World School and no Cambridge or Edexcel centre came up in our checks, which is why lessons for these courses go online.

    Nearby: Unnao

The district headquarters has more private schools and coaching classes. We could not confirm an international curriculum there, so it is a stronger board-school option for now.

      Nearby: Lucknow and Kanpur

The two big cities either side of Unnao, with the widest school markets in central Uttar Pradesh. Check on the IB or Cambridge website whether a given school holds current authorisation.

Nearby: Delhi NCR and hill boarding schools

Where many Awadh families look when they decide to move a child into an international curriculum. No school is named here without confirming it.

We list no Safipur school because none could be confirmed as offering the IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE. The cities that follow are only where Awadh families look for such schools; naming them is not an endorsement, and IB Gram has no connection with any board, trust or school.

          How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

          1. 01

            Describe the student

List the programme or board, the subject and level, recent marks, the exam you are aiming at and the free hours in your Safipur week.

          2. 02

            Weigh the names we send

Nobody in Safipur teaches these courses, so we look across India and give a reason next to every tutor named.

          3. 03

            Try a free class

A real topic from the syllabus is taught live, and nothing is owed unless you decide to continue.

          4. 04

            Read the plan in writing

The topics, the pace, the hour length and the fee are written down for you, and you can request changes.

          5. 05

            Settle into a rhythm

A fixed weekly slot, a note after each class, and a change of tutor if the first match does not work out.

          Why families choose us

What Safipur parents tell us matters most

          Course first

We search for the exact IB subject and level or the IGCSE code, not merely a subject title.

Made for towns between big cities

With no IB or Cambridge classroom in Unnao district, the pool of tutors is the entire country.

          Watch before you pay

Your child tries a real lesson first, so the decision to pay follows what you saw.

Questions from the tutor, words from the student

Tutors ask questions and react to drafts, but the assessed words belong to the student.

          Records parents can follow

A few lines after each lesson and a fuller review every month or so translate IB and Cambridge jargon for parents.

          Simple to leave

You sign no long contract and owe no school anything, and a replacement tutor is one message away.

          Student and parent reviews

What students and parents say about working with IB Gram

Practical feedback on tutor fit, revision structure and communication from IB and IGCSE families, including those studying in Safipur.

“Every session has been a positive learning experience. The students are progressing well, becoming more confident, and showing a genuine interest in learning.”

          Priya Vivek

          Gurugram

“The students have developed a much better understanding of the concepts through regular practice and guidance. Their confidence and participation have improved noticeably.”

          Priya Vivek

          Gurugram

“Watching the students progress from one session to the next has been very satisfying. They are learning with confidence and showing genuine interest.”

          Priya Vivek

          Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Safipur: your questions answered

Where does a Safipur family begin if it wants an IB tutor?+

With a single message naming the programme, subject, level and exam session. Back comes a short list of teachers who have lately taught that exact course, plus a free first class. Safipur has no IB school, so nobody local is being passed over; the search simply runs across India.

          What will the lessons cost?+

Four things set the price: programme and level, the scarcity of tutors for that course, the length of the hour and the number of lessons each week. Higher Level Diploma Maths and sciences usually cost more than IGCSE Core. A written quote arrives before the trial, and where the tutor lives never changes it.

Does a tutor come to the house in Safipur?+

Nobody calls at your door in Safipur, since home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Your child studies online from home, at a desk with a laptop and camera, and the tutor gives the whole hour to that one student.

Are both Cambridge and Pearson covered for IGCSE?+

Yes, both. Lessons are tied to the code and tier on your school's list, such as Cambridge 0610 Biology or Edexcel 4MA1 Mathematics. The code determines which papers your child sits, which is why matching starts there and not at a general subject name.

Is there an IB or Cambridge school in Safipur or Unnao?+

We could not confirm any. Schools here teach the Uttar Pradesh Board syllabus or CBSE. Parents who want an international school generally look at Lucknow, Kanpur, Delhi NCR or a boarding campus, and it is wise to check a school's present authorisation on the IB or Cambridge website before applying.

Our son boards at an IB school elsewhere. Can he study with a tutor when he is home for Diwali?+

Yes, and it is a common request. The tutor is picked for the boarding school's subject and level and works to its term calendar, which turns a fortnight at home in Safipur, over Diwali or in summer, into marked papers and visible Internal Assessment progress.

Is the first class really free?+

It costs nothing. Your child joins a live lesson on a real topic from the course over video. A short written plan arrives afterwards, and you are free to continue, ask for a different tutor or stop altogether. Nobody from our side telephones to push you.

Where does a tutor draw the line on an Internal Assessment?+

Guidance stops where the writing starts. A tutor may help a student settle on a question that can really be investigated, read the criteria aloud together, plan how data will be collected and respond to a draft. The finished report, its figures and its conclusion are the student's, because the IB requires every submission to be authentic work.

Which Diploma subjects can be taught?+

Maths in both of its forms at HL or SL, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Economics with Business Management, Computer Science, Psychology, Geography, History and English are all covered. Hindi and Urdu depend on who has time. Send your complete six-subject set and we will confirm what can be arranged.

Is anything offered for younger children?+

Younger students are not left out. MYP lessons deal with criterion-marked tasks and the Personal Project; PYP lessons build reading, writing and comfort with numbers before a move into an IB school. Safipur parents usually ask about these when a posting, a transfer or a boarding place is on the horizon.

Does a camera lesson match sitting beside a teacher?+

Close enough for these subjects. The tutor writes on a shared page, the camera can look at the student's notebook, and past papers are marked while both people watch. A specialist who taught the course in another city is worth more than a general teacher on your street. All that is needed is a steady signal and a charged laptop.

How are tutors vetted before they teach?+

Our check begins with qualifications, then asks who has taught this programme and subject in the past couple of years, then tests understanding of the marking criteria. The sample class is the final test, because it shows how the person actually teaches. If the match is poor we simply find another tutor.

          When should lessons start?+

Start soon after the course begins, which is Class 9 for IGCSE and Class 11 for the Diploma. Faults in the foundations are cheaper to put right in September than in February, when internal deadlines and mocks arrive together. A family that starts late is not out of the race if the plan is built backwards from the first paper.

We are weighing a move from the UP Board to IGCSE. How can we test the idea?+

Pick one subject first and let a tutor lay the current syllabus beside the new one, showing where English writing or practical skills are thin and advising whether Core or Extended is realistic. The change of school happens elsewhere, but the groundwork can start at the Safipur study table today.

Are weekday evenings and Sundays possible?+

Yes. Weekday evenings and Sunday mornings suit most families. In summer a dawn or dusk slot is kinder, and lessons can be shifted around dense fog, the urs, Muharram, Eid, Diwali or Holi if you say so in advance.

What happens if the tutor is a poor fit?+

Let us know and a different tutor will be found. We treat a poor pairing as our own error and never as the child's. The short notes after each class and the longer reviews show quickly whether lessons are working, so there is no need to wait for a bad result before speaking up.

Is IB Gram linked to any school or exam board?+

No. IB Gram is independent and answers to none of the IB Organization, Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, the Uttar Pradesh Board, CBSE or any school in Safipur or Unnao district. Names on this page are there for background only.
