IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Rau, Indore

Home tuition for IB and IGCSE students in Rau means a live, private lesson at your own desk, online, with a subject specialist who has taught your exact course. The township sits on AB Road between Mhow and Indore, so evenings are short and the road is busy; a video lesson gives that time back to the student.

  • Tutors who have already taught the exact IB subject or IGCSE syllabus code
  • Lessons are online; in-person home tuition exists only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A written note after every lesson and a fair route to a new tutor
  • Free trial first, then a written rate before you book

IB & IGCSE in Rau

Rau, the Mhow-road township, and online IB and IGCSE tuition

Rau is a nagar panchayat in Indore district on the Mumbai-Agra highway, known locally as AB Road, in the stretch between Indore proper and Mhow. It is home to IIM Indore, several engineering and management colleges and a long list of housing colonies, and the Pithampur industrial belt branches off just beyond the town. Families here include faculty and staff from the institutions, plant managers and engineers from Pithampur, and Indore professionals who moved south for larger flats.

Unusually for a town of its size, Rau has one international school within its limits: The Emerald Heights International School, which Wikipedia lists among Rau's schools and which our Indore page describes as an IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE option. A short drive up AB Road brings Choithram International School and Daly College into reach. This page is for the student who studies at one of them, or is joining one, and wants more than the classroom gives.

IB and IGCSE tutors in Rau work online. A tutor in another part of India joins by video, shares a whiteboard and marks the student's working as it appears. No tutor visits houses in Rau, because in-person home tuition from IB Gram runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What a Rau family gets is the equivalent of private home tuition, delivered through a laptop, with a specialist chosen for the course.

IB Gram is an independent service and is not linked to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named here. Tutors coach and explain; they do not write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, Theory of Knowledge essays or coursework.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Rau school years

For Rau families the programme question is rarely abstract. A child is already in the Emerald Heights classroom, or a parent is weighing it against an Indore campus on the far side of the city. These notes describe what each stage demands, so that tuition is aimed at a real need.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

Children work through units built on questions, share what they find and, in the final year, plan an Exhibition on a topic they care about. There is no external examination. Tutoring is gentle and short: reading aloud, neat sentences, number talk and the confidence to ask why.

For a young child in Rau, the PYP request usually comes from a family that has just relocated for an IIM or Pithampur posting and wants reading and Maths to settle before the term moves on.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Each subject is marked against published criteria, and tasks reward explanation, comparison and reflection as much as recall. The Personal Project closes the programme. Students coming from an MP Board or CBSE background often know the facts but have rarely been asked to justify them in writing.

Rau MYP students most often ask for help with criterion-based science write-ups, English analysis and Maths problems set in a context rather than a bare sum.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, with TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS beside them. The final score is out of 45 and the papers are sat in May or November. Internal assessments count towards the mark, so effort has to be spread over two years instead of saved for the spring.

Diploma students from Rau often balance a heavy school day with an AB Road commute, so weekend blocks and short weekday sessions suit them better than long weeknight classes.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

CP combines at least two Diploma courses with a career-related study and a reflective core. Few Indian schools run it. The Diploma courses inside a CP are taught and assessed to the same standard as in the full Diploma.

We have no sign that CP is common around Rau; if a family does meet it, the Diploma courses are tutored exactly as they would be for a DP student.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Rau school timetables

Every Rau student studies online. Families then pick the rhythm that suits the term: one steady weekly lesson, a planned course with written reviews, or a short intensive burst before a paper.

A steady weekly lesson

One tutor, one fixed slot. The student arrives with questions from school, the tutor teaches the next block and corrects errors as they appear on the shared board.

  • A tutor selected for your subject, level and board
  • Usually sixty minutes once a week
  • Working written out and annotated live
  • Suits IGCSE, MYP and the first year of the Diploma

A planned course with notes

A map of the term, a short written note after each lesson and a check-in with the parent every few weeks to reorder topics when school moves faster or slower than expected.

  • Notes a non-specialist parent can follow
  • Reviews at fixed points in the term
  • Works beside school-based classes at Emerald Heights or an Indore campus
  • Extra sessions around internal tests

Intensive weeks before papers

Ahead of mocks and the May or November sessions, lessons become more frequent and turn into timed papers followed by line-by-line feedback.

  • Scripts marked in the style of the board
  • Two to four sessions a week when the timetable allows
  • Planned away from Diwali and Navratri nights
  • Best begun about three weeks before the first paper

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Rau

01

Which IB and IGCSE schools serve Rau, and who studies there?

The Emerald Heights International School is the one school inside Rau that we can name for these boards, and the Indore page lists it for the IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE. Most other schools in the township follow the Madhya Pradesh Board or CBSE, so a child on an international programme here is in a minority and is usually the child of someone who has seen another education system.

The wider picture includes Indore's Choithram International School and Daly College, both reachable along AB Road. Because the road runs straight into the city, Rau sits in an odd position: it is a separate nagar panchayat, yet for school choice it behaves like the southern edge of Indore. A family can live in Rau, send a child to a school on the Indore side and still describe the daily life as local.

The households that choose these boards fall into a few groups. Faculty and staff at IIM Indore and the neighbouring institutions often have children who studied abroad or in international schools before. Engineers and managers posted to Pithampur transfer in from other cities and want continuity of syllabus. Some Indore business families see a clear route to university abroad and move at Class 9 or Class 11.

None of this changes the practical truth that a child on a demanding programme will have gaps. A tutor who has taught the same course can close those gaps in one-to-one lessons, with the Rau timetable, not the tutor's, deciding the slot.

02

How do MP Board, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE and IB differ for a Rau student?

The Madhya Pradesh Board holds its Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in February and March, in Hindi or English medium. CBSE follows the same months with a national syllabus, and ICSE and ISC follow it too. IGCSE and the IB belong to a different calendar entirely, with sittings in May and June and again in October and November.

Board students in Rau tend to arrive at Class 10 with solid recall. The IB and IGCSE rarely test recall alone. They ask for the reason behind an answer, the limits of a model or the evaluation of two views, and a student who has never been asked to write like that needs a few months to adjust. A tutor can show how a command word such as evaluate or justify changes what a full-mark answer looks like.

Indore matters for entrance routes. JEE Main and NEET are national and open to IB and IGCSE students who meet the eligibility conditions, while state-level counselling and domicile rules can be tricky. Check the current notices early, before the subject package is fixed, because Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology are the usual doorway.

For a Rau family the real question is where the child expects to finish and what comes after. International boards suit a plan that points abroad or towards liberal arts, management or design in India. Board-based schooling is simpler when the target is a state-linked professional course.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Rau?

  • Course and level: IB HL or SL, IGCSE Core, Extended, Foundation or Higher
  • Tutor's experience with the exact syllabus and board
  • Lessons per week and length of each lesson
  • A steady term plan or a short exam-season push

We do not publish a rate card, since the right figure depends on the child. After the free trial lesson you receive the rate in writing, along with the lesson length and weekly pattern it assumes. Nothing is charged until you agree to it.

Four things move the rate. The level of the course comes first: Higher Level Physics asks more of a tutor than Core English. Next is the tutor's depth on the exact syllabus, because someone who has taught 4MA1 or 0580 for several cycles can spot a pattern of errors in minutes. Frequency counts too, since one hour weekly costs less than a three-session exam fortnight. Finally, the balance between steady work and a last-minute rescue matters.

Online lessons also remove costs that do not appear on an invoice. A Rau family avoids fuel and time on AB Road, the stop-start crawl at Rau Chouraha and the slow return after dark. For a Diploma student with a tight week, an hour recovered from travel is worth more than a small difference in rate.

A higher hourly rate can still mean fewer hours overall, because a specialist reaches the problem faster. Judge the trial lesson on how quickly the tutor finds the actual gap, not on how long the explanation is.

04

Online tutor, Indore centre, private home tutor or self-study in Rau?

Indore has no shortage of coaching centres, but most are built for JEE, NEET and board exams, with big batches and a fixed syllabus. A centre rarely offers an IB Physics HL teacher at a time that fits a student who finishes school at four and gets home at six. Rau students would also be adding a drive to a lesson.

A private tutor who comes to the house is possible for state-board and CBSE subjects, and some are excellent. Very few have taught IB or IGCSE content, so they help most with general homework support, less with a specific syllabus code or an IA criterion.

Self-study works for a disciplined student working through past papers, especially in IGCSE Maths and the sciences. It stalls where marks depend on judgement, such as IB Language and Literature, TOK and the analysis pages of an internal assessment, because nobody tells the student what a stronger answer looks like.

Online one-to-one lessons fit the Rau schedule and add specialist knowledge, with the one real dependency being a stable connection. Rau's new apartments are generally well served, but we suggest a test call before the trial and a phone hotspot as backup.

05

How do Malwa heat, monsoon and Indore festivals shape the study year?

Rau stands about 530 metres above sea level on the Malwa plateau, and Wikipedia describes a subtropical climate with hot dry summers, a monsoon that brings roughly 800 millimetres and mild winters. Daytime highs in May and June can approach 45 degrees. That lines up awkwardly with the IB May session, so students are often writing three-hour papers in a hall in the worst of the heat.

Because of the temperature, summer lessons run early or late. A seven o'clock evening slot after the heat has eased works far better than a four o'clock one. Power cuts in the hottest weeks are brief but real, so a charged laptop and a second device help.

Indore's calendar is crowded in a cheerful way. Rang Panchami in March brings the city's street processions, Ganesh Chaturthi fills August or September with visitors and pandals, Navratri nights run late for garba, and Diwali draws the whole family together. The last two sit close to the IGCSE October-November session and the IB November papers, so revision has to be finished before the festival weeks.

Winter mornings are cool, even cold, which makes December a good month for longer consolidation sessions. A well-run plan puts the heavy topics there and keeps light practice for festival weeks.

Where do IB and IGCSE students from Rau go next?

Rau is unusual because a top management school is already in town. IIM Indore runs its flagship programmes, including an Integrated Programme in Management for undergraduates entering after Class 12, and some Rau students grow up wanting that route. Admission is by an aptitude test and an interview, with its own rules on boards and marks, so read the current brochure before assuming an IB score converts.

Equivalence matters for Indian degrees. The Association of Indian Universities issues equivalence for IB and IGCSE-based qualifications, which lets them stand next to Class 12 for most state and private universities. IB Diploma holders may also apply through CUET-UG to central universities, subject to the conditions that year. Rules shift, so verify the latest notification.

Engineering and medicine depend on subjects. A student who wants JEE Main or an Indore engineering seat needs Physics, Chemistry and Maths. NEET asks for Biology with Physics and Chemistry. IIT Indore and the state engineering colleges publish their own criteria, and the safest habit is to check them before the subject package is locked in Class 11.

Abroad, IB and IGCSE results are read widely in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and Singapore, and American colleges weigh them alongside test scores and essays. Tutors help with the subject side only; the personal statement and application essays must be the student's own.

07

Which parts of IB Maths and the sciences trip Rau students, and how do tutors help?

IB Maths asks students to explain as well as calculate. Analysis and Approaches rewards tidy algebra and rigorous proof. Applications and Interpretation asks whether a model is reasonable and what a statistical result means in context. Both include an Exploration, a piece of independent mathematics that a tutor can guide on scope, method and reflection without producing any of it.

In Physics the lost marks usually hide in units, unlabelled graphs and vague explanations. Chemistry brings a calculation load and a data booklet that students must learn to navigate quickly. Biology is content heavy, and the difference between a 5 and a 7 is often the precision of terminology and how well a student answers the command term.

For internal assessments, a tutor can coach the student on choosing a workable question, planning a method, handling uncertainty and writing an evaluation. The experiment, data and report belong to the student. Tutors read drafts and point out where a criterion is missed.

Rau students often come from an MP Board primary school and then meet MYP assessment in Class 6, so the shock lands early. A tutor who has taught the same programme knows which habits to build before the Diploma.

08

Core or Extended, Foundation or Higher: how do Rau families choose IGCSE tiers?

Cambridge IGCSE offers a Core tier, where the highest grade is a C, and an Extended tier that reaches A*. Edexcel uses Foundation, capped at grade 5, and Higher, reaching grade 9. A student who plans IB Maths HL, Physics HL or any science-heavy Diploma should aim for the upper tier from the start.

The school normally decides entry. Where a family is choosing, a timed diagnostic paper gives a clearer answer than a hunch. If the mark lies near the boundary, discuss it with the school or the exam centre, and bear in mind that a strong Core result can be worth more than a weak Extended one.

Subject choice should follow direction. Engineering and medicine aspirants usually take Maths, the three sciences or Computer Science. Commerce-minded students add Economics, Business Studies or Accounting. A language such as Hindi can sit comfortably in the set.

Confirm the board and the exact syllabus code before lessons start, so the tutor prepares your child for the right paper and not a close cousin of it.

Where we tutor

Rau, AB Road and the Mhow-Indore belt our tutors serve online

An online lesson looks the same from a flat near the IIM campus as from a colony on the Pithampur side. The notes below describe how families in each pocket usually plan the day around AB Road traffic, school end times and the weather.

Rau Chouraha and the town centre

The busy junction where AB Road meets the Pithampur road; evenings are loud and the road is slow at school closing, so lessons often start after seven.

Pithampur Road corridor

Colonies of families tied to the industrial belt, where shift timings push many students to a fixed Sunday slot.

Pigdamber

A residential stretch on the Rau side of AB Road close to several colleges; students here fit lessons around college-hour traffic.

Rangwasa

The village edge of Rau where new apartments have opened; broadband quality varies by lane, so a quick connection test before the trial is wise.

Silicon City area

A planned residential pocket near Rau that suits families who like a gated, quiet study hour in the evening.

IIM Indore campus neighbourhood

Faculty and staff households with school-age children, some returning from abroad and already familiar with IB or Cambridge language.

Bijalpur and Nipania side

Southern Indore colonies close to the Rau boundary, where parents weigh Rau schools against the central campuses.

Rajendra Nagar and Indore south

Older residential Indore close to the ring road; families often send children across to Choithram or Daly College and use lessons for weekends.

Mhow and Mhow Cantonment

The garrison town a few kilometres south, with defence families on postings; our Mhow Cantonment page covers that side.

Pithampur

The industrial town west of Rau, where engineers and managers on transfer look for a tutor who can follow the child's board without a move.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Rau

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Rau: your questions answered

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Rau?+

Yes, one that we can name: The Emerald Heights International School, which Wikipedia lists in Rau and which our Indore page describes as offering the IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE. Most other Rau schools follow the MP Board or CBSE. Choithram International School and Daly College are a drive up AB Road in Indore. Please confirm current programmes and admissions with each school directly.

Can I get IB home tuition in Rau?+

You can get online home tuition, meaning a live private lesson that your child takes at home on a laptop with a specialist tutor elsewhere in India. The tutor does not come to your house. In-person home tuition from IB Gram runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. In Rau the lesson, whiteboard and written feedback all happen on screen.

Do you have IGCSE tutors in Rau for Cambridge and Edexcel?+

Yes, for both boards, but they teach online. We match on board, tier and syllabus code, for example Cambridge 0625 Physics or Edexcel 4MA1 Mathematics A. The tutor works in IST, which is your own clock, so there is no time-zone juggling. Tell us the code on your child's school list and we propose someone who has taught it.

Do tutors visit homes in Rau?+

No. Home visits are offered only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and no tutor travels to Rau. Your child needs a laptop or tablet, a stable connection and a quiet desk. The tutor shares a whiteboard, writes out working live and sends a short summary note afterwards, so you can see what was covered without sitting in.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Rau?+

It depends on the course level, the subject, the tutor's experience with that syllabus and how many lessons a week you choose, so we publish no price. After the free trial you get a written rate, and you can compare it with what you pay for coaching in Indore. Online lessons also save fuel and the time lost on AB Road.

Which Rau and Indore schools teach IB or IGCSE?+

We can name The Emerald Heights International School in Rau, and Choithram International School and Daly College in Indore, based on our Indore page. We have not confirmed an IB or Cambridge school in Mhow or Pithampur. Our list is for context only; IB Gram has no tie to any school, and you should check each programme yourself before applying.

Is the first lesson really free?+

Yes. Your child takes one actual lesson with the proposed tutor, online, at no cost and with no obligation to continue. Afterwards you decide, and if you want to go ahead we send the rate in writing before any booking is made. The trial is usually a normal-length session on a topic your child is currently working on.

Can a tutor write my child's IA or Extended Essay?+

No. A tutor can coach, which means explaining the criteria, helping narrow a topic, reviewing a plan and commenting on a draft. The research, data analysis and writing must be the student's own, and the same rule applies to TOK essays and coursework. Writing the work would risk the student's results, so our tutors decline such requests firmly.

Which IB Diploma subjects can you cover for Rau students?+

Maths AA and AI, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Management, English A, Computer Science, Psychology, ESS, Geography, Global Politics and Hindi B are all common requests. Both Higher and Standard Level are covered. If your subject is unusual, tell us the code and session and we will say honestly whether we have someone who has taught it.

Do you teach IB MYP and PYP to Rau students?+

Yes. PYP sessions are short and activity based, with reading, number sense and curiosity at the centre. MYP sessions deal with criterion-based writing, science reports, mathematical investigation and the Personal Project. Parents receive a note after every lesson, written plainly so you can follow progress without knowing the programme yourself.

Is online tuition as effective as an Indore coaching centre?+

For most IB and IGCSE subjects, yes, provided the connection is stable. A centre gives you a batch and a fixed syllabus; a one-to-one lesson gives you a teacher who works only on your child's gaps. You also skip the AB Road drive. Where a subject depends on practical apparatus, your school lab remains the place for it.

How do you choose tutors for Rau students?+

We look at qualifications, recent experience teaching the specific syllabus and the way the person explains things in a short demonstration. Then we match against your child's level, board and goals. We propose a tutor only after understanding what the student needs, and we explain why we chose that person so you can judge the reasoning.

When should my child start IB or IGCSE tuition?+

As early in the course as possible: Class 9 for IGCSE, Class 11 for the Diploma and the start of Class 6 for MYP. A student who has just moved to Emerald Heights or an Indore school can begin a term earlier and focus on English and Maths. Starting late is still worthwhile, but fewer weeks mean sharper priorities.

My child is in an MP Board school. Can we move to IB or IGCSE?+

A move needs a school seat first, because tutoring cannot enrol a child in an IB or IGCSE programme. A tutor can prepare the student for the applied style, close content gaps and build writing habits before the move. Talk to the school about the right entry class and any admission test, then start lessons a term ahead if you can.

Can lessons fit around Rau's heat and festivals?+

Yes. Most Rau families use early evenings and Sundays, and we avoid the hottest hours in May and June. We also plan around Rang Panchami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri and Diwali, and bring revision forward ahead of the November papers. Tell us your calendar at the start and the tutor builds the term around it.

What if my child does not get on with the tutor?+

Tell us and we will arrange a different tutor. Early check-ins usually catch a poor fit, and the written plan keeps expectations clear for everyone. You do not need to give a long reason; a simple message to support@ibgram.com or on WhatsApp is enough for us to begin the search.

Is IB Gram connected to any school or exam board?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service with no link to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school in Rau, Indore or elsewhere. Schools appear on this page only to explain the local options. We cannot offer admission, cannot influence a result and do not guarantee any grade; the tutor's job is to teach well.
