IB and IGCSE Tutors and Home Tuition Online in Rajsamand

A Rajsamand family asking for IB or IGCSE home tuition gets a live one-to-one lesson at home over video, because tutors do not visit homes here. The marble and lake town has schools on the Rajasthan board and CBSE but no IB or Cambridge school that we could confirm; the closest are in Udaipur, about 62 km away.

  • Matching starts from your child's real subject, level and board
  • Home visits are not offered in Rajsamand; classes run live online, one to one

IB & IGCSE in Rajsamand

What IB and IGCSE tutoring looks like for Rajsamand families

Rajsamand takes its name from the great lake raised by Rana Raj Singh in the seventeenth century, and its economy rests on marble and granite from the Aravalli hills, zinc and silver mining nearby, and a scattering of manufacturing. Kankroli's Dwarkadhish temple and the pilgrim traffic to Nathdwara add a steady stream of visitors. The schools follow the Rajasthan board or CBSE. We found no IB or Cambridge or Edexcel school in the town.

Private tuition at home is the phrase most parents use, and the honest version of it here is a live online lesson. IB Gram tutors do not come to houses in Rajsamand, since in-person tuition exists only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. A child sits at the family desk with a laptop while a tutor, chosen for the exact course, teaches them alone.

Udaipur changes the picture a little. With several international schools an hour's drive away, some Rajsamand families wonder about a move, and others keep a child in a Udaipur school through a rented room or a relative. Tutoring covers the gap either way. Mine owners, marble traders, doctors and teachers at the local colleges all feature among the families who ask.

Tutors explain, set practice, mark papers and react to a student's own drafts. They do not write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays or TOK essays, and IB Gram has no connection with the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Rajsamand school years

No school inside Rajsamand runs an IB programme, so a child reaches them through a school in Udaipur or further away, through private study beside Rajasthan board or CBSE classes, or as preparation for a coming move. The summaries below show what each stage asks for.

PYPNursery-Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

Children in the PYP work on themed units, say how communities use water, and draw on reading, maths and science together. Nothing is examined; the final project is a self-directed Exhibition. At tutor level the aims are reading fluency, number comfort and the habit of asking better questions.

A PYP request from Rajsamand usually concerns a child in a Udaipur school who needs home support, or a family preparing a young child for that route.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Four criteria per subject decide MYP grades, so a student must show the skill each one names, such as analysing or evaluating, not only reach a right answer. The Personal Project anchors the final year, with optional on-screen assessments at some schools.

MYP enquiries here often involve a Class 8 or 9 student who needs criteria explained and a manageable Personal Project plan.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Students take six subjects, three or four at Higher Level, plus TOK, the Extended Essay and service activities. Much of the grade comes from work done during the two years, with final exams in May or November.

A Rajsamand DP student is usually enrolled in Udaipur or further afield, so tutoring follows that school's timetable and deadlines.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

The CP pairs Diploma courses with a career-related study and a reflective project. Few Indian schools run it, and tutoring normally backs up the academic courses inside a student's pathway.

CP questions from Rajsamand are rare; when they come, the brief is the Diploma-level subjects in the pathway.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

A student aiming at mining or civil engineering needs a different course mix from one aiming at hotel management or law, and the tutor is chosen after that mix is set. Lessons then follow the student's actual school calendar and exam month.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Calculus and algebraic argument dominate; students who did well in RBSE or CBSE Maths must learn to plan long, open-ended solutions.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Data handling, modelling and calculator fluency, with an exploration that benefits from a topic the student has measured personally.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Class 12 content covers much of the ground, but the IB adds uncertainty, graph analysis and a designed investigation.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Energetics, equilibrium and organic mechanisms are examined through reasoning; the internal investigation rewards a clear, repeatable method.

IB Biology

HL / SL

The command term in each question decides the answer shape, and practice with mark schemes trains students to spot it.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Quarrying, tourism around Mewar and marble export give real markets to draw on when building diagrams and commentaries.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case-based papers reward application; the internal project can study a local firm such as a stone-processing unit, with permission.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Timed analysis of unseen texts, a comparative essay and a recorded oral, each with its own preparation routine.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Paper questions on logic and systems alongside a program that has to run for the internal assessment.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Students must tie precisely described studies to an argument instead of listing research loosely.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Mining, water scarcity and the Aravalli ecosystem give vivid case material for an evaluation-centred course.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Named case studies, real figures and a fieldwork method others could repeat are all expected.

IB History

HL / SL

Mewar's history offers rich material, but the exam tests source evaluation and sustained argument on prescribed topics.

IB Hindi & English B

HL / SL

Hindi is the language of daily life here, with Mewari at home for many; formal writing tasks still call for deliberate register and text-type practice.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Conversation-led preparation for the exhibition and essay; the tutor questions the argument and never drafts it.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Cambridge 0580 and Edexcel 4MA1 sound alike yet ask questions in different ways, so the first job is fixing board and code. Preparation then works backwards from the chosen sitting: Cambridge in May-June or October-November, Edexcel in January, May-June or November.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Visible working earns method marks, so students practise full solutions at speed, on calculator and non-calculator papers.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

An early start on calculus, functions and trigonometry that smooths the later move to IB Maths AA.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Different wording and mark allocation from Cambridge, so practice comes from Edexcel papers and examiner reports.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Formula rearrangement and written experimental description are the two habits that lift grades.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Identification tests, the mole and reactivity appear in numerical and written form, so both are drilled.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Structured longer answers on transport, inheritance and ecology, plus careful reading of graphs and tables.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Diagrams give a base; the balanced evaluative paragraph is where most students need coaching.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Hand-tracing pseudocode and writing real programs are combined to check prediction against behaviour.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Grade 9-10

A natural second-language choice in Rajasthan; lessons cover reading, directed writing and speaking practice.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Rajsamand school timetables

All Rajsamand lessons happen online. Families differ in why: some want a steady weekly class, some are supporting a child who studies in Udaipur, and some need a focused run before an exam. These three patterns cover most requests.

Weekly private lesson at home

A fixed evening slot with one tutor, following the syllabus in order and clearing the week's doubts. The usual start for a Grade 9 or Class 11 student.

  • One tutor builds a record of what the student knows
  • Shared whiteboard and marked past papers each time
  • A written summary for parents after every class
  • A second weekly slot is easy to add before exams

Support for a child in an Udaipur school

Where a Rajsamand student attends or is joining a Udaipur international school, lessons mirror that school's pace and deadlines, often on weekends or during breaks.

  • Follows the school's order of topics and IA dates
  • Fits weekends and long holidays at home
  • Tutor comments on the student's own drafts only
  • Short intensive blocks can be arranged

A push before an exam session

In the weeks before a sitting, lessons become more frequent and centre on timed papers and quick feedback, scheduled around festival days and the heat.

  • Papers are marked to the current specification
  • Feedback usually returns within two days
  • Planned around Gangaur, Teej and Diwali
  • Best begun six to eight weeks ahead

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Rajsamand

01

Which IB and IGCSE schools are within reach of Rajsamand?

  • No IB or IGCSE school was confirmed in Rajsamand
  • Udaipur is the closest city with international schools
  • A daily commute is long, so a move or hostel is needed
  • Online tutoring can start at once without moving

None in Rajsamand, on the evidence of public directories and affiliation lists. The town's schools run the Rajasthan board or CBSE, and its colleges serve local degree courses. A search of IB World School records and Cambridge centre lists for the district gives no result.

Udaipur, around an hour south by road, is the practical alternative, and it has several schools with international curricula. A daily commute of that length is demanding, so a family would have to consider a rented home in Udaipur, a relative's house or a hostel. Jaipur and Ahmedabad are farther options, each with a larger set of choices.

The households asking about IB and IGCSE tutors in Rajsamand include returnees from metro schools, professionals planning overseas study for a child, and business families in stone and mining who want a globally accepted qualification. They share the need for a teacher who has taught the syllabus rather than a general subject tutor.

The qualification is identical wherever it is earned. A Cambridge paper sat in Rajsamand is the same paper sat in Dubai, and IB work is moderated against one worldwide standard. What matters is how closely the preparation matches the current specification.

02

How does the Rajasthan board or CBSE differ from IB and IGCSE?

  • Question style is the first adjustment for a board student
  • Internal work needs planning across weeks
  • The Diploma requires a broader mix of subjects
  • A trial lesson shows how the new style feels

Rajasthan board and CBSE papers reward a student who has read the prescribed book thoroughly and can write the expected answer quickly. Many Rajsamand students arrive at Class 11 having practised hundreds of such questions. IB and IGCSE papers instead present a situation the student has not met, ask why, and give marks for the reasoning along the way.

Assessment over the year also differs. In the state board the year-end paper dominates. An IB student also completes an internal assessment in most subjects, marked against criteria and externally moderated, and IGCSE includes practical or coursework components in some subjects. Planning and revising work over several weeks is a skill that needs learning.

Content depth changes in Maths and the sciences, where HL courses go beyond Class 12 in places. The Diploma also requires a spread of subjects, including a language, a humanities course and a second science or arts option, which a Science-stream student in a state board school does not usually take.

Whether to switch is a family decision. The IB suits a student who wants broad subjects and overseas choices, while the Rajasthan board or CBSE remains simpler for a student aiming at a Jaipur or Kota route to JEE or NEET. A tutor can show the workload in a trial lesson before anything changes.

03

What does IB or IGCSE tutoring cost in Rajsamand, and why does it vary?

  • Level, subject, tutor record and lesson length set the rate
  • No travel cost, and no 62 km run to Udaipur
  • An experienced specialist can need fewer lessons
  • Rates in writing first; pauses carry no penalty

Four things shape the figure: the level of the course, how specialised the subject is, the tutor's track record with that syllabus, and the length and frequency of lessons. Higher Level Physics from someone who has taught the present guide costs more than IGCSE Core Geography support, because fewer people can do it well. You see the rate in writing before booking.

Rajsamand itself adds nothing and removes nothing. As lessons are online, there is no travel for the tutor, and the family avoids the 62 km run to Udaipur that a city tutor or centre would demand. That saving in time and fuel is often larger than the difference between two tutors' rates.

Choosing purely by hourly rate can mislead. A tutor who is working out the syllabus beside your child spends early sessions catching up, while one who has guided several Extended Essays or marked recent Cambridge scripts reaches useful work sooner.

Nothing ties the family down. Lessons can pause for exams, a wedding season or a pilgrimage, and a tutor who is not helping is replaced. IB Gram publishes no price list because needs differ so much between students.

04

Online lessons, Rajsamand tutors, Kota-style coaching or self-study: what fits?

  • Batch coaching serves JEE, NEET and board exams
  • Local tutors suit school subjects and younger children
  • Self-study lacks expert feedback
  • Online lessons give specialist choice at home

Rajasthan is the country's coaching heartland, and Rajsamand families know the model: a large batch, fast content, a focus on JEE and NEET. It works for those goals. It does not work for an IB Economics HL student, because the batch does not exist, and Kota-style classes do not teach command terms or internal assessments.

Local home tutors help with school subjects and give a child familiar company. But few have taught a current IB subject guide or a Cambridge or Edexcel specification, and the gap shows when a student asks how an investigation is marked or how to write an evaluation paragraph.

Self-study can work for a disciplined student with good past papers and examiner reports. It falls down on the parts that need an informed reader: choosing a topic, tightening an argument, and finding a mistake the student keeps repeating.

Online one-to-one lessons combine those needs. The student studies at home, the tutor is picked for the course, and a shared whiteboard and marked papers carry the class. A steady internet connection is the only real requirement.

05

How do Rajsamand's summers, pilgrim seasons and festivals affect exam planning?

  • May and June heat favours late-evening lessons
  • Nathdwara and Kankroli festival crowds change family routines
  • Gangaur, Teej and Diwali pause lessons for days
  • Summer break and the Diwali gap suit focused blocks

May and June in this part of Mewar are fiercely hot and dry, sometimes above forty-five degrees, and the same weeks carry the heaviest exam load. Afternoon study is difficult, so late-evening lessons work better. The monsoon fills the lake and the hills turn green, but heavy rain can bring power cuts, so a phone hotspot is worth keeping ready.

Pilgrim traffic has its own calendar. Nathdwara and Kankroli draw large crowds on festival days, Janmashtami, Annakut after Diwali and the Holi season among them, and many families are busy with guests or temple duties. Gangaur, Teej and Diwali pause routines for several days, so a term plan set at the start beats rearranging week by week.

Looking at exams, the Rajasthan board sits Class 10 and 12 papers in March, Cambridge holds sessions in May-June and October-November, Edexcel adds January, and the IB offers May and November. A student in a Udaipur school follows that school's schedule; an independent IGCSE candidate picks whichever session matches their readiness.

Breaks are the best working windows, especially the long summer holiday and the gap around Diwali. A focused block then, with lighter weekly lessons in term, suits most Rajsamand students.

06

What do Rajsamand students do after IB or IGCSE?

  • Udaipur, Jaipur and Ahmedabad are common college destinations
  • AIU equivalence and subject mix matter for JEE, NEET and CUET
  • Overseas applications use predicted grades in the autumn
  • Tutoring covers subject strength, not admissions paperwork

Udaipur, Jaipur and Ahmedabad draw many Rajsamand students for college, and Delhi, Pune and Bengaluru pull others further. A smaller group applies abroad, mainly to the UK, Canada, Australia and the United States. A globally recognised qualification keeps both Indian and overseas routes open.

For Indian universities, an IB or IGCSE-based record generally needs equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities. JEE Main and NEET have their own subject rules, and CUET-UG is the gateway to many central universities. Rajasthan-specific counselling for state institutions has its own eligibility conditions that families should check early.

Overseas, the timetable runs earlier. UK universities ask for predicted IB points or A Level grades in the autumn of the final year, and American colleges combine predictions with essays and references. Predicted grades rest on Class 11 performance, so steady preparation from the start pays.

A tutor's job is the academic part: teaching the subject well, raising predicted grades where there is room and building exam technique. Choosing courses, writing statements and completing applications remain with the family and the school counsellor.

07

IB Maths and the sciences for students in Rajsamand

  • Maths AA HL needs a plan written before the algebra
  • Maths AI exploration can use marble, lake or tourism data
  • Sciences reward units, precision and justification
  • Biology follows the command verb closely

Students who do well in RBSE or CBSE Maths often expect Analysis and Approaches to feel familiar. The topics overlap, yet HL papers contain long problems with no hint about method, and an early slip costs marks throughout. First lessons therefore train students to write their plan before starting the algebra.

Applications and Interpretation suits those who prefer data. The exploration can draw on home experience: marble output and prices, lake levels through the year, tourist numbers at Kumbhalgarh. The student must collect and analyse the numbers, and choosing early prevents a rush at the end.

Physics and Chemistry reward justified answers: units, sensible precision and reasons for choices. Practical work is assessed on design and evaluation, so students without a well-equipped lab need help planning investigations they can actually perform.

Biology follows command terms closely. A long, accurate answer to describe still loses marks if the question asks explain. Reading a student's scripts beside the mark scheme shows the pattern and gives a clear fix.

08

Core or Extended, Cambridge or Edexcel: an IGCSE plan for Rajsamand

  • Extended keeps later doors open
  • Additional Mathematics is optional but useful before IB Maths AA
  • Hindi as a second language balances a science-heavy load
  • Pick the board on dates, papers and tutor experience

Schools hand a timetable to a child; a family studying privately has to draw its own. The first fork is the tier. Extended is graded A* to E and leaves the Diploma, A Levels and overseas applications reachable, while Core stops at C and suits a student who would rather carry a lighter load. When in doubt, enrol for Extended and revisit the decision after the first mock.

Mathematics at Extended followed by Additional Mathematics 0606 eases the later step into IB Maths AA, and Extended science papers already cover most of what Higher Level assumes. A child who does not expect to take HL subjects can skip Additional Mathematics and keep evenings free for other work.

Most independent candidates sit English, Mathematics, two or three sciences and a couple of electives. In Rajasthan, Hindi as a second language is familiar ground and can balance a timetable heavy on Physics and Chemistry. Economics and Business Studies suit students who see themselves in the trading and mining businesses around them.

The board decision turns on three practical points: exam dates, where past papers can be found, and which specification the tutor has recently taught. Universities treat Cambridge and Edexcel alike. A tutor can put the two side by side for your child's exact subjects and explain where they differ.

09

What happens after a Rajsamand family writes to IB Gram?

  • Say what is going wrong, not only which subject
  • Tutors are checked on qualifications and recent teaching
  • The trial class happens before any payment
  • A new tutor is one message away

Begin with a short note that names the programme or board, the subject and level, the latest grade, the sitting date and the evenings that suit. One sentence matters more than the rest: what is going wrong. 'Always short of time in Paper 2' or 'no idea how to begin the IA' tells us what kind of teacher to look for.

We then weigh tutors on qualifications, how recently they taught that syllabus and how they handle assessment criteria. No one in Rajsamand teaches these courses, so there is no local field to rank; fit and record make the decision.

Next is the trial lesson, a live class on a genuine topic. Watch whether the explanation is clear, whether questions expose what your child really knows, and whether your child relaxes enough to ask. A plan for the first month follows, and you may edit it before it takes effect.

Reviews come every few weeks, and a short note lands after each lesson. If the pairing does not work, another tutor is found promptly and without awkwardness.

Where we tutor

Rajsamand localities and nearby towns we teach online

No tutor will turn up at any of these places. They are named so the plan can reflect each family's real day: commute to school, pilgrim traffic, mine shift timings and the heat.

Rajsamand town

The district headquarters around the lake, where most English-medium schools and coaching classes are within a short ride.

Kankroli

The old twin town beside Rajsamand Lake, famous for the Dwarkadhish temple; crowds on festival days change the pace of the evening.

Nathdwara

A temple town with the Shrinathji shrine, about 15 km away, where pilgrim seasons shape household routines.

Lake-side neighbourhoods

Residential pockets near Rajsamand Lake, popular with families in education and local business.

Charbhuja

A temple town in the south of the district, where students travel to Rajsamand or Udaipur for senior classes.

Kumbhalgarh

The fort village in the Aravalli range, where a tourism economy and patchy connectivity call for a backup connection.

Amet

A town in the north-east of the district, near the Bhilwara side, with its own school market.

Railmagra

A smaller town in the district where subject specialists are almost impossible to find locally.

Delwara

A village near Nathdwara, with farming and small business households.

Mining belt villages

Families connected to marble and zinc work, where shift patterns shape when a student can study.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Rajsamand

Rajsamand district

Schools in Rajsamand follow the Rajasthan board or CBSE. No IB or IGCSE school was confirmed, so these qualifications are studied through private tuition or a school in another town.

About 62 km south, Udaipur is the closest city with confirmed international-curriculum schools, and the obvious first place to look for a school change.

    • Crossroads International School

    Nearby: Udaipur, other areas

Further schools in other parts of Udaipur offer international programmes; a family would need to check each one's current programme and admission details.

    • Rockwoods International School
    • Seedling The World School

No school in Rajsamand could be confirmed to offer the IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE, so the school strip is empty rather than misleading. The Udaipur schools named below are real places families may weigh, not partners of IB Gram. This is an independent service, unconnected to any school, temple trust or mining company mentioned here, and to the IB, Cambridge University Press and Assessment and Pearson.

Can I get a Cambridge or an Edexcel IGCSE tutor in Rajsamand?+

Either board. The pairing is made by code and tier, so a student on Cambridge 0580 Extended has a different teacher from one on Edexcel 4MA1 Higher, and each practises on that board's own past papers and examiner commentary.

Is home tuition possible, with a tutor visiting us in Rajsamand?+

Not in person. Home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What Rajsamand gets is one-to-one private tuition at home on a laptop, with the tutor visible on screen and a shared whiteboard between them and your child.

How is the fee worked out for Rajsamand students?+

From the level, the subject, the tutor's experience and how many hours a week you want. The figure comes in writing before you book, is the same whether you live in Kankroli or Kolkata, and carries no advance payment or fixed term.

Does any Rajsamand school teach the IB or IGCSE?+

We could not confirm one. The town's schools use the Rajasthan board or CBSE. Udaipur, roughly 62 km south, holds the closest schools with international programmes, and some families begin with online lessons while they think about moving.

We came back from an IB school in another city. Can my child keep the same syllabus here?+

Yes. Send the subject list, most recent reports and the exam session, and a tutor picks up the course at the same level, following the old school's order of topics until the family decides what comes next.

Do we pay anything for the trial class?+

Nothing. The trial is a complete lesson on a real topic with the tutor proposed for your child. Only once it is over do you choose whether to go on, and the written plan for month one comes after that decision point.

How far can a tutor go with an Internal Assessment or Extended Essay?+

As far as explaining criteria, sharpening a research question, checking a method and reacting to the student's own draft. Drafting or rewriting the assessed piece is outside IB integrity rules, and every request of that kind is turned down.

Which subjects can be taught for the IB Diploma?+

The usual spread: Maths AA and AI, the sciences, Economics, Business Management, English A, Computer Science, Psychology, Geography and History, together with TOK and Extended Essay guidance. Hindi B tutors are available for language courses.

Are MYP and PYP children taught as well?+

They are. MYP work covers writing to criteria, scientific reasoning and the Personal Project; PYP work covers reading, number sense and research skills for the Exhibition, in shorter sessions that suit younger attention spans.

How does a video lesson compare with a tutor sitting next to my child?+

For IB and IGCSE the two are close, because what matters is explanation, worked examples and marked papers, all of which a shared screen carries. A video lesson also opens up specialists that no town of Rajsamand's size could supply. Reliable internet is the main need.

How do you check your tutors?+

We look at qualifications, how recently they taught the same subject and level, and how they use assessment criteria. In a town without a specialist pool, recent experience of the syllabus is the test, and the trial class lets you verify it first-hand.

What is the best age or stage to begin?+

The opening of a course gives the most room: Grade 9 for IGCSE and Class 11 for the Diploma. Early lessons repair foundations before mocks and predicted grades matter. A final-year start still helps when it targets past papers and the topics carrying most marks.

Our daughter is in an RBSE school. Can she prepare for IGCSE on the side?+

She can. The adjustment is chiefly in the way questions are phrased and marked. Command words such as explain, evaluate and justify are taught directly, and written reasoning is practised. A start one or two terms ahead of the sitting keeps it comfortable alongside school.

When in the day are lessons held?+

Mostly weekday evenings after school and weekend mornings. We steer around Gangaur, Teej, Diwali and Rajasthan board exam weeks where possible, and a second weekly slot is simple to add before a sitting.

Summer power cuts and weak signal worry us. What are the options?+

Tell us at the start. Typical fixes are a wired line or strong mobile signal, a hotspot kept as a spare, lighter sessions during the hottest or wettest weeks, and a recording of any class that drops. Families in hill villages have managed well.

And if my child and the tutor do not click?+

Say so and we will find someone else. Reviews take place every few weeks in any case, and because there is no contract, pausing or stopping costs the family nothing.

Does IB Gram have ties to a school or an examining body?+

None at all. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service, unconnected to any Rajsamand or Udaipur school, the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge University Press and Assessment or Pearson Edexcel. Names on this page simply describe the local setting.
