IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Pauni

Pauni on the Wainganga is not where most people expect to find an IB or IGCSE teacher, so the teacher comes by screen. Home tuition in Pauni is private and one-to-one, delivered online while your child sits at their own desk; no tutor drives out from Nagpur, because in-person visits are run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Start with a free trial class.

  • Short notes in plain English after each lesson, so the whole family can follow progress
  • A tutor with real experience of your child's IB paper or IGCSE code, rather than a general subject teacher
  • A free trial class before you decide whether to go on
  • Pauni lessons are entirely online; in-person tuition exists only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR

IB & IGCSE in Pauni

IB and IGCSE tutors for Pauni, the Wainganga town known as the Kashi of Vidarbha

Pauni is a municipal council town in Bhandara district, on the bank of the Wainganga and ringed by the Umred-Pauni-Karhandla wildlife sanctuary. The 2011 census counted 22,821 people. Its name carries weight in Maharashtra: ancient stupas stand at Jagannath Tekri and Suleman Tekri, the old Pawan Raja fort survives, and some 150 temples have earned it the nickname Kashi of Vidarbha. Handloom weaving was once its pride.

Schools here teach the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE syllabus, chiefly in Marathi and Hindi, with English-medium classes growing. As far as we know none in Pauni offers the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE, and the closest verified campuses lie in Nagpur, Vidarbha's commercial hub. Those who enquire tend to be tied to Nagpur's professions, to the region's mining and power industries, or to family overseas.

Their problem is the missing tutor. Nobody in a town of this size will have taught IB Biology HL for several seasons, but a specialist anywhere in India can, and a video lesson reaches Pauni as easily as it reaches Nagpur. IB and IGCSE tutors in Pauni are a matter of matching, not geography.

IB Gram stands apart from the IB, Cambridge, Pearson and all schools named here. Tutors teach, set practice and mark; they do not write or reword any Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Pauni school years

None of the four IB programmes is taught in a Pauni school, as far as we can tell. Each reaches a household here through a particular event, a move to Nagpur, a posting, a relative abroad or a plan for an overseas degree, and the notes below follow those routes.

PYPAges 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Children work through themed inquiries that cross subjects and finish with a Grade 5 Exhibition. No exam is set, so tutoring builds reading fluency, early number work and the habit of asking investigable questions.

A Pauni parent mentions the PYP when a young child may soon start school in Nagpur or abroad.

MYPAges 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Teachers grade by criteria across eight subject groups and the Personal Project ends the course. Tutoring helps students move from short answers to reasoned, evaluated ones.

A student from a Marathi-medium Class 7 or 8 entering an MYP class in Nagpur gains most from English academic writing beforehand.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects over two years, with the Extended Essay, TOK and CAS. Papers fall mostly in May, and internal assessments add to the subject grade.

Diploma students from Bhandara district generally study in Nagpur or a boarding school and seek a subject specialist in the holidays.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Pairs DP courses with career-related study and a reflective project. Few Indian schools run it, so tutoring mostly covers the DP courses.

CP is rarely mentioned in Pauni; if it is, the practical need is DP subject teaching.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Teaching under the Maharashtra Board and CBSE trains fast recall. IB and IGCSE examiners want that same knowledge put to use in an argument, so we pair students by course and level first, then look at how they write English. Tell us the paper and we find someone who has taught it.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Structure and bonding, rates, equilibrium and organic pathways, with data-booklet fluency and exact definitions.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Conversation-led sessions on how we know, shaping the exhibition and essay.

IB Marathi A or B

HL / SL

Marathi is the language of home, so students start ahead; lessons add text types, literary analysis and the individual oral.

IB History

HL / SL

Source evaluation and essays; Pauni's own Buddhist and fort heritage suits heritage-minded students.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Cell biology to ecology, marked by command terms. The nearby tiger reserve and river give strong ecology examples.

IB Hindi B

SL / HL

For students who want examined Hindi alongside Marathi, building reading, writing and speaking.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics to nuclear physics and a student-designed investigation. Power-sector families in Vidarbha will find energy topics familiar.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Calculus, functions, vectors and proof for future engineers and scientists, with HL Paper 3 testing stamina on unseen problems.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, probability and modelling with technology, where explaining a result matters as much as finding it.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Resources, hazards and change. River flooding and the heat of the Vidarbha plain give real case studies.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Programming, algorithms and databases, with a solution project that rewards regular weekly work.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Markets, policy and development, with local material such as paddy farming, handloom revival and mining-belt employment.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Systems thinking about water, forest and wildlife, with the Umred-Pauni-Karhandla sanctuary close at hand.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Text analysis, comparison and an oral. Marathi and Hindi speakers sharpen formal written English.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Theory applied to real cases, suited to families in trade and small industry.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Two organisations set IGCSE papers in India, Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel, and their codes and papers differ. Before planning we confirm board and exam window. Cambridge: March, May-June, October-November. Edexcel: January, May-June, October.

IGCSE English as a Second Language 0510

Core / Extended

A recognised English certificate for Marathi-medium students planning A Level or the IB.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, bonds, reaction rates and organic pathways, plus designing experiments on paper.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Calculus and further algebra, a stepping stone to IB Maths AA.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Number, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, with Extended leading to further maths.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Forces, heat, waves, circuits and nuclear ideas, with the practical-skills paper.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Cells, inheritance, ecosystems and the human body, answered the way examiners reward.

IGCSE Geography 0460

Grade 9-10

Physical and human geography; river and climate topics suit students from the Wainganga plain.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Computational thinking and short programs.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Core ideas, then data response and evaluation.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Laid out differently from the Cambridge paper, so Edexcel past papers are used.

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Pauni

01

A heritage town with new ambitions: who in Pauni asks about the IB?

  • Students aiming at overseas universities
  • Children who need stronger English-medium habits
  • Households with relatives studying or working abroad
  • Families expecting a transfer or a move to Nagpur

Pauni's older identity is visible everywhere, from the stupas on its hills to the temples along the river. Its newer identity is quieter: families whose children study in Nagpur or Pune, a generation working in government, banking and teaching, and professionals who left for larger cities and still keep a home here. The mix creates a few households looking beyond state board results.

What triggers the question is usually specific. A parent may be a doctor, engineer or officer expecting a transfer. A cousin may study in Canada or Germany. A student strong in science and English may want a university abroad. In each case the parents need to understand what the IB or IGCSE is and whether a start can be made from home.

As no school in town offers either programme, a family may relocate, send the child to board, or arrange private study: an IGCSE syllabus with a tutor and exams as an outside candidate, or IB subjects ahead of a transfer to Nagpur.

One limit has to be stated. An IB Diploma needs a registered school, and a tutor cannot provide a laboratory or classmates. What a tutor can provide is subject depth, exam technique and confidence in English.

02

Maharashtra Board, CBSE, IGCSE or IB: how do they differ for a Pauni student?

The Maharashtra State Board runs SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) mostly in February and March, with MHT-CET opening state engineering and pharmacy seats. CBSE has a national syllabus linked to JEE and NEET. IGCSE and IB are international and reward written reasoning, practical work and subject choice.

IGCSE is a Class 9 and 10 award taken subject by subject, with tiers. The IB Diploma stretches over two years with six subjects, the Extended Essay and TOK. Many students complete IGCSE first and then choose among the IB, A Level and Class 11.

The child's next address decides it. Staying in Maharashtra, the state board or CBSE is the shortest road to MHT-CET and JEE. Leaving the state or country, an international qualification starts to pay.

Private lessons let a child try an international subject without changing schools, so the family has evidence before any large step.

03

How is the fee for IB or IGCSE tuition decided in Pauni?

  • Tutor experience with the syllabus
  • Subject and level
  • Months before the exam
  • Hours each week

There is no price list on our side. The trial leads to a written quote that depends on subject and level, weekly hours, the tutor's depth in the syllabus and the exam date; with lessons online, nothing is spent on fares to Nagpur or Bhandara.

Cost is shaped by the course (subject and level), the lesson count each week, the tutor's record with this particular syllabus and the distance to the exam. Higher Level science with a veteran costs more than Core IGCSE Business.

Online lessons spare a Pauni family the cost of trips to Bhandara or Nagpur: fares, lost afternoons and sometimes a night away. They also open a national choice of teachers.

Judge the trial by what it shows: does the tutor locate the real weakness, explain it simply and set sensible practice? If not, we propose a different tutor.

04

Is a Nagpur coaching class a substitute for online IB and IGCSE tuition?

Nagpur has a large coaching trade, aimed at board papers, JEE, NEET and CET. Nothing we know of is built round IB or IGCSE marking, so a class there delivers content but not the examiners' way of awarding credit.

A tutor nearby could be excellent with school subjects and still be unsure how IB markers award method marks or how Extended IGCSE questions are worded.

Teaching by video with someone who knows the syllabus saves the trip altogether. In return, lessons depend on power and broadband, which summer storms and floods may disturb, so a hotspot and a readiness to reschedule come with the arrangement.

Families commonly combine routes: school and coaching for the state exams, a weekly video class for the international subject, and past papers in between.

05

How do exam dates meet Vidarbha's heat, monsoon and festival weeks?

Diploma papers are written chiefly in May and results appear in July. Indian candidates for Cambridge IGCSE sit in March, May-June or October-November; Edexcel candidates in January, May-June or October. Which window applies is fixed by the school or centre where the student is entered.

Vidarbha is among the hottest parts of India. April to June can push temperatures above 45 degrees, making afternoon study impossible and power cuts more likely. The monsoon from June raises the Wainganga, and heavy spells can disturb broadband.

Festivals fill the calendar. Pola in the monsoon, Ganeshotsav, Dussehra, Diwali and, for the Buddhist community, Buddha Purnima and Dhammachakra Pravartan Din in October, all bring family time. We avoid hard revision on those days.

We plan from the exam backwards: first a diagnostic, then teaching, then papers under time, then a closing review. Weather-lost classes are rescheduled.

06

Where can a Pauni IB or IGCSE student study afterwards?

To enter an Indian degree, an IB Diploma usually needs AIU equivalence, and many universities admit through CUET-UG, so the subject mix must fit the course. Rules for JEE Main and counselling change often, so work from the latest brochure.

Medicine through NEET-UG requires Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at senior-secondary level; Maharashtra seats can depend on domicile, and IB or A Level applicants must provide equivalence certificates.

Nearby, students think of Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Further out are the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Singapore and the Gulf.

Following IGCSE come A Level, the IB Diploma or Class 11, and the subjects retained at Class 10 influence what stays open. Tutors outline how they connect; a seat can never be promised.

07

IB Maths and the sciences: what good preparation involves

IB Maths is offered as Analysis and Approaches (algebra, calculus, proof) or Applications and Interpretation (data, modelling), both at HL and SL. A diagnostic lesson usually shows which suits.

Students from Maharashtra Board and CBSE tend to be quick and tidy. What the IB adds is justification and interpretation, so classes include written-out reasoning and a timed paper every two weeks.

Each science has an Internal Assessment that the student carries out alone. A tutor can discuss which question is feasible, how to organise the data and what a fair evaluation sounds like, but the report is the student's own writing from first line to last. If there is no laboratory, simulations and open datasets are used.

Chemistry and Biology award marks for the right word, which is why tutors practise the phrasing that mark schemes look for.

08

Choosing IGCSE tiers and subjects in Pauni

  • Diagnose before choosing a tier
  • Confirm the exam centre early
  • Plan tutoring around the series
  • Match subjects to the later stream

Many subjects are set at two tiers: Core and Extended with Cambridge, Foundation and Higher with Edexcel. The lower tier sets a grade ceiling, whereas the upper one leaves every grade reachable and mirrors what A Level or IB Higher Level will ask later.

A diagnostic early on decides the tier; Extended Mathematics together with Core English is an ordinary pairing.

Choose subjects with the destination in mind: engineering usually means Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (Additional Mathematics too if possible); commerce means Economics and Business Studies; Computer Science fits technical careers.

Outside candidates sit at an approved exam centre, often in Nagpur or Pune; fix the centre and series first and set lessons around the entry deadline.

Pauni: keeping the home school

The majority stay in their Maharashtra State Board or CBSE school and add online IB or IGCSE subject classes, usually to prepare for a move.

No IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school could be found in Pauni, hence the empty strip. The names below are Nagpur campuses, the nearest confirmed for Bhandara families; ask each school about its present programme. IB Gram has no link with any of them or with the IB, Cambridge or Pearson.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Pauni: your questions answered

How early should we start before the exam?+

Starting about a year ahead suits Higher Level subjects and IGCSE Mathematics or sciences. Where the content is known and only pace is weak, two months of timed papers may do. The final four weeks are for repairing known gaps, not learning new topics.

Can an IB student sit MHT-CET, JEE or NEET?+

That depends on subjects and on yearly rule changes, so use the current notification. NEET-UG insists on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, state seats may require domicile, and MHT-CET and JEE publish their own equivalence terms. Ask the authority in writing before registering.

Do you teach PYP and MYP from Pauni?+

Yes, on request. With younger children we build reading fluency, number sense and the knack of framing a question for the Exhibition; with middle-years students we practise writing to criterion descriptors, set out mathematical reasoning and plan the Personal Project. No Pauni school runs either programme, so the plan is shaped around a move or an online enrolment.

How much does IB home tuition cost in Pauni?+

There is no price list on our side. The trial leads to a written quote that depends on subject and level, weekly hours, the tutor's depth in the syllabus and the exam date; with lessons online, nothing is spent on fares to Nagpur or Bhandara.

Will IGCSE count for admission in Maharashtra?+

IGCSE is a Class 10 level qualification, so students normally continue to Class 11, A Level or the IB before college. Degree admission depends on each university's rules, including equivalence. Tutors can explain how subject choices fit but cannot confirm admission or eligibility.

Which IGCSE board should we pick?+

Picking a board is seldom about quality. The two test similar topics through different papers, tiers and sittings, and your school or centre often decides for you. If it does not, a tutor can give your child a past paper from each and watch which feels more natural.

Can tutors work on my IA or Extended Essay?+

Coaching is the whole brief. A tutor will help you read assessment criteria, narrow a research question and react to what the student has drafted; a tutor will not write, tidy or reword any portion of an IA, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework, as the rules on authorship make that off limits.

Is Nagpur a practical place to move for an IB school?+

For many Bhandara families it is the natural choice, and Nagpur has several campuses we list, among them D Y Patil International School at MIHAN, VIBGYOR World Academy, Centre Point School International and International School of Scholars. Check each one's current programme and admissions with the school. We are not affiliated with any of them.

Is anyone in Pauni teaching IB or IGCSE?+

No local provider is known to us, so teaching is online. Schools in Pauni follow the Maharashtra State Board and CBSE, and there is no IB or IGCSE campus here. A specialist from elsewhere in India who has taught your child's syllabus is matched, and the class runs on video with a shared whiteboard.

Can my child study Marathi as an IB subject?+

Yes, where the school or route supports it, since IB offers Marathi among its language courses. Daily use of Marathi gives a Pauni student a head start, and sessions turn it into exam skill: text types, literary analysis, close reading and the individual oral. A specialist is confirmed during matching.

Can a Pauni student sit IGCSE as a private candidate?+

Often, yes. Approved Cambridge and Edexcel centres take outside entries, and for Pauni the closest are generally in Nagpur or Pune. Practical and coursework rules vary by subject, so read the syllabus. Tutors cover the written and alternative-to-practical papers over video; registration is for the family.

    How do I get started?+

Contact us on WhatsApp (+91 7439 368 115) or at support@ibgram.com, giving the class, board or programme, subject, level and exam date. A tutor is suggested promptly and a trial is booked for an evening that suits your household.

Will a tutor come to our house in Pauni?+

No, no one will arrive at a Pauni door, as lessons in person run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. We provide home tuition online: your child at their desk, a tutor on screen, a shared board in between. A laptop and a dependable connection are all that is needed, and the reward is a tutor from anywhere in India and no journey to Bhandara.

Does the Vidarbha heat affect online lessons?+

It can. In May and June, heat brings power cuts and hot afternoons that make study hard. We schedule early mornings or late evenings, ask families to keep a charged laptop and a mobile hotspot, and move any lost class to another day, with practice questions sent in the meantime.

What equipment does my child need?+

Bring a laptop or tablet (a phone is too small for a shared whiteboard), a connection that survives an hour of video, earphones and a table with a door nearby. Scientific calculators are essential for maths and sciences, and your tutor will name any graphic calculator an IB paper permits.
