IB & IGCSE in Nawapur

Private IB and IGCSE home tuition for Nawapur students, taught online

Nawapur, also written Navapur, is a market and processing town in Nandurbar district, right on the Maharashtra-Gujarat line, and its railway station is split between the two states. Dal mills, a sugar factory and a large agricultural market keep the local economy moving, and Marathi, Gujarati and Hindi all belong to daily speech. Most children study under the Maharashtra State Board or CBSE. The IB and the Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel IGCSE enter the picture when a family plans for study abroad, expects a transfer, or wants a course built on analysis and written explanation.

Parents who search for IB and IGCSE tutors in Nawapur soon find that qualified specialists are not sitting in the next lane. The practical answer is private tuition from home, taught online. A lesson is a live video session with a shared whiteboard and past papers on screen, one tutor and one student. The tutor teaches from elsewhere in India on Indian Standard Time, so a slot after school or on a Sunday morning is easy to hold.

We would rather be plain about the format. No tutor of ours comes to a house in Nawapur; in-person home tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Here the student sits at a desk at home, a parent can sit alongside, and every lesson ends with a short written note on what was covered and what to practise next.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. It has no link with the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named on this page. Tutors explain ideas, set practice and mark it. They do not write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, Theory of Knowledge essays or coursework, because those must be the student's own work.

At a glance

  • Help with IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, and with Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE
  • Private lessons from home, live on video, one student at a time
  • A free trial lesson before any fee is discussed
  • A written note after every session, in plain language
  • A change of tutor on request if the fit is wrong
  • Home visits in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR only, never in Nawapur
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Nawapur school years

We could not confirm that any of the programmes below is taught inside Nawapur, so IB learners from the town reach them through Surat campuses, a family move, or self-directed study at home. Each stage is described together with the sort of help a tutor usually gives a Nawapur student.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning runs through six transdisciplinary themes and units of inquiry in place of separate textbooks, and the final year ends with the Exhibition. Nothing is externally marked, so the useful work is reading, writing and number sense.

Few Nawapur families meet the PYP at home. It matters when a child will enter an IB junior school in Surat and needs steady English reading beforehand.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Eight subject groups are marked against published criteria, and the programme closes with the Personal Project. Students learn to explain and justify instead of copying out a textbook answer.

A child coming from a Marathi- or Gujarati-medium school meets criteria-based marking and command words for the first time here, so tutors start with mathematical reasoning and science write-ups.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, usually three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, sit beside Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Final papers fall mainly in May and internal assessments count towards the grade.

A Nawapur Diploma student is normally a boarder in Surat or a relocated family, so online lessons tend to be late-evening or weekend sessions on the hardest subjects.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

At least two Diploma courses are combined with a career-related study, a reflective project and personal and professional skills. Few schools in India run it.

From Nawapur the CP is rarely the first thought. Tutors support the Diploma courses inside it when a student is already enrolled in a school that offers it.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

A student here may be the only one for many kilometres taking a particular course, so a tutor has to teach the content and the IB way of answering together. Course, level and exam session are confirmed with you before the trial lesson.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Nawapur school timetables

Every Nawapur student is taught the same way, privately and live on video. What differs is the rhythm of the plan: a steady weekly lesson, a compressed block before an exam, or a mix that bends around the school year.

A steady weekly lesson

One tutor, one student and a regular slot. A session usually combines a worked explanation, a problem set attempted during class and a review of last week's homework.

  • The same tutor through the term
  • Suited to DP, MYP and IGCSE subjects
  • Whiteboard work and past papers shared on screen
  • Slots set around school, tuition classes and family routine

Compressed exam-season blocks

A denser timetable in the weeks before a paper, built on timing, mark-scheme language and the topics that still leak marks.

  • Timed papers reviewed line by line
  • Command terms taught directly
  • Short tasks set between sessions
  • Easy to pause around Diwali or Ganeshotsav

Home lessons online, with parent updates

The ordinary live lesson, followed by a brief written recap and an occasional call so parents can see the direction of progress.

  • Tutors do not visit homes in Nawapur; in-person home tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A plain-language note after each class
  • A new tutor if the match does not work
  • The rate agreed in writing beforehand

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Nawapur

01

Who studies IB or IGCSE around Nawapur, and where do they enrol?

Mostly families whose plans reach beyond the district: dal and grain traders whose children may study abroad, doctors and teachers who expect to move to a bigger city, and households with relatives in Surat or Mumbai. They enrol in a campus in Surat, board away from home, or study at home as private candidates.

Nawapur's own schools reflect its border position. Shri Shivaji High School and Junior College, founded in 1962, offers Arts, Commerce and Science; N.D. and M.Y. Sarvajanik High School teaches in Gujarati; and Little Angels' Academy and D.G. Agrawal English Medium School are described as CBSE schools. We have not found a school in town that teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE, and we name none we cannot confirm.

The nearest campuses that do are in Surat, about a hundred kilometres away on NH-53. Fountainhead School runs the IB continuum with Cambridge IGCSE, P. P. Savani Cambridge International School centres on Cambridge IGCSE with boarding, and Aarth Universal School offers the IB Primary and Middle Years Programmes. A daily trip is out of the question, so a seat there means a hostel, a family relocation or a parent moving with the child.

Others take a quieter road. A student stays in a Nawapur school, learns IGCSE subjects privately and enters Cambridge or Pearson papers through an authorised centre, leaning on an online tutor as the main teacher. A few begin in Class 8 or 9 with one subject, often mathematics or physics, to find out whether the style suits before changing schools.

02

How do the Maharashtra Board, Gujarat Board, CBSE, IB and IGCSE compare?

They differ mainly in how learning is tested. The Maharashtra State Board and the Gujarat Board reward accurate recall in Class 10 and 12 board exams, CBSE sits in between, the IB Diploma adds extended writing, projects and orals, and IGCSE tests each subject through external papers at Core or Extended level.

A Nawapur family may meet several of these at once. A child can study in a Marathi-medium school, hear Gujarati at home and watch cousins in Surat follow GSEB or CBSE. Moving to the IB or IGCSE also changes the register of language, because answers are expected in precise English with the subject's own command terms.

The first adjustment is usually writing, not content. A student who solves a quadratic quickly may still lose marks in IB Maths for not showing reasoning, or in IGCSE Biology for loose wording. Tutors spend the early weeks on how to read a question, what evaluate or justify expects, and how a mark scheme awards points.

The table sets the options side by side without ranking them.

03

What do IB and IGCSE tuition cost for a Nawapur family, and why do quotes differ?

  • Subject and level, with Higher Level sciences and mathematics hardest to staff
  • Sessions per week and how close the paper is
  • The student's starting point and the gaps to close
  • One subject or several, with the same tutor or different ones
  • No travel, hostel or commuting cost to Surat

There is no fixed rate to quote, because we do not publish prices. A figure is sent in writing after we know the course, level and number of weekly sessions, and nothing is paid until the free trial lesson is over. What moves that figure is set out below, so you can compare options sensibly.

Subject and level matter most. A specialist in IB Physics HL or Maths AA HL is harder to place than a tutor for IGCSE Business Studies, and the rate follows availability. Familiarity with the current syllabus counts for a lot, since the IB revised its mathematics courses (first exams in 2021) and its sciences (first exams in 2025).

Frequency comes next. One lesson a week costs differently from three, and families commonly add sessions for the eight to ten weeks before a paper and drop back afterwards. A student rebuilding foundations after years in another board also needs more preparation from the tutor than one revising past papers.

Then set the quote against the alternative. A Nawapur student attending school or classes in Surat pays for transport or a hostel, meals, and weekends lost to travel on top of fees. Online tuition removes that line entirely, and it is worth counting when you compare.

04

Online home tuition, coaching classes, local teachers or self-study: what suits Nawapur?

For IB and IGCSE courses, an online one-to-one tutor is usually the closest fit, because the teacher is selected for the exact syllabus. Tuition classes and coaching centres in a town like Nawapur are organised around the Maharashtra Board, CBSE and entrance tests such as MHT-CET, JEE and NEET, and that is where they are strong.

A private teacher in town may teach Class 12 Physics well, yet IB Physics HL asks for different content, a different data booklet and long-form Paper 3 questions. When the teacher has never taught the course, the student ends up translating between syllabuses. That gap is what an online specialist fills.

Self-study works for a disciplined IGCSE student who can obtain past papers and mark schemes, but it has a ceiling: without someone to explain why a mark was lost, the same slip repeats paper after paper. Many families combine options, keeping school or a tuition class for core teaching and adding one online tutor for the subject that worries them most.

Online teaching cannot give the routine of a physical classroom or classmates in the same room, and it needs a stable connection. The table lays the choices out together.

05

Where can a Nawapur student go after IB or IGCSE?

Indian universities accept the IB Diploma through an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, central universities may also ask for a CUET-UG score, and universities in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe read the IB and Cambridge qualifications directly. Medicine and engineering depend on the subjects chosen.

Closer to home, the pull is towards Surat, Pune and Mumbai. Surat has Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology and Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, while the affiliating body for Nandurbar district is Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University in Jalgaon. Each institution sets its own policy for IB and Cambridge candidates, so confirm it before choosing subjects.

For engineering and medicine, JEE Main and NEET-UG consider students from international boards only when stated subject and mark conditions are met, and those conditions are revised often. A tutor can warn early if a Higher Level pick, such as Biology without Chemistry, might close a door later. Students aiming for Maharashtra state seats should also read the State CET Cell brochure for non-state board candidates.

IGCSE results record Grade 10 performance and serve as the base for A Level or the Diploma. Applications themselves are handled by the family, the school counsellor and the university; tutors coach the subjects only.

06

How are IB Maths and the sciences taught to a Nawapur student?

Lessons begin with choosing the right maths course, then follow a worked-example rhythm. The tutor solves a problem on the shared whiteboard, the student attempts a similar one alone, and the two go through the working line by line. The choice of course depends on the career path, not on how hard it feels.

Analysis and Approaches suits students heading for engineering, physics, mathematics or computing, with heavy algebra and calculus. Applications and Interpretation suits future economists, biologists and business students, with more statistics and technology. At Higher Level, Paper 3 problems and the mathematics exploration are introduced early.

In the sciences the emphasis varies by subject. Physics rewards a clear method and correct units, Chemistry rewards data-booklet fluency and mechanism drawing, and Biology rewards exact vocabulary and careful reading of command terms. For the internal assessment, tutors help a student frame a researchable question, control variables and discuss uncertainty, while the report stays the student's own.

The district offers real material for Environmental Systems and Societies and Geography: the Tapi and Rangavali rivers, irrigation reservoirs in the taluka, the waste streams of mills and a sugar factory, and a market that sends fruit and vegetables to many states. A student who chooses a local case for fieldwork gives the examiner something genuine to read.

07

IGCSE Core or Extended, and which subjects should a Nawapur student take?

Core papers cap the grade at C and Extended papers reach A star, so a student aiming for A Level or the IB Diploma in science or mathematics normally takes Extended. The school or exam centre makes the entry, but a tutor's diagnostic lesson is a sensible input to the decision.

Subject choice is wider than in a state board. A typical candidate sits mathematics, two sciences, English, a language and one of business, economics or computer science, with Additional Mathematics as a stretch for future Diploma students. Hindi is available as a second-language option, and the English paper matters: First Language rewards style and range, Second Language rewards accuracy.

Practicals are the awkward part for a private candidate without a laboratory. Cambridge sciences offer a practical test or a written alternative to practical, and Pearson Edexcel has its own arrangement, so the entry type must be settled with the exam centre early. A tutor can teach experimental method from diagrams, video and sample data.

Whatever the tier, the study rhythm is the same: confirm the syllabus code, attempt a past paper, mark it against the scheme, record each lost mark by cause, and repeat with harder material.

08

What should a Nawapur family plan around in the exam year?

Plan backwards from the exact paper your child is entered for. The IB holds its main session in May and a smaller one in November, Cambridge runs IGCSE in February-March, May-June and October-November, and Pearson Edexcel runs summer and winter series. IB Diploma results arrive on 5 July and 5 January. Dates come from your exam centre, and a tutor counts back from them.

Local rhythm matters too. September brings Ganeshotsav, with processions filling the evenings. Navratri follows, and for a town with a large Gujarati-speaking community the garba nights keep many households busy. Diwali closes schools, Eid and Holi take days of their own, and the heat of April and May stretches afternoons. Tell the tutor early so lessons are moved, not missed.

The monsoon, from June to September, can interrupt power and broadband. Charge the laptop in advance and keep a phone hotspot ready, particularly on the low ground near the Rangavali.

Preparation usually runs in three stages. Six months out: a diagnostic paper and a gap list. Three months out: topic revision with a weekly timed question set. The last six weeks: full papers under exam timing, revisiting only the topics that still cost marks.

Where we tutor

Nawapur localities where families use online IB and IGCSE tuition

Lessons happen on screen, so a locality matters only for what it says about the school run, the family routine and the strength of the connection. These notes describe parts of Nawapur and its edges as residents tend to describe them, not as a survey map.

Light Bazaar

The main commercial street, closely tied to shopkeeping families whose children study after shop hours; late-evening lessons fit here.

Shanivari Bazaar (Saturday market)

The weekly market draws crowds from nearby villages, so Saturday afternoons are best avoided for a first trial in the lanes around it.

Railway station area

The station straddles two states, and trains towards Surat leave from here; families who commute plan study time around the timetable.

Rangavali riverside

Low ground along the Rangavali river, where heavy monsoon rain is most noticeable and a phone hotspot is a sensible backup.

APMC market yard

The fruit, vegetable and grain yard keeps early and late hours, so households linked to it often prefer slots after dinner.

Hillside edge of town

Neighbourhoods below the hills that overlook the municipality, generally quieter in the evening and easier for concentrated study.

Nandurbar side

The route towards the district headquarters, used by families with business or office ties there and by buses on that line.

Surat highway (NH-53) side

Homes along the road to Surat, whose international schools are the nearest ones; some households here have relatives or work in Surat.

Uchchhal and the Gujarat side

Just across the state line, where families may live on one side and school on the other, which explains the Gujarati-medium teaching in town.

Nawapur itself: local options are limited

No IB or Cambridge school inside Nawapur could be confirmed, and none is named here. Local schools follow the Maharashtra State Board, the Gujarat Board or CBSE, which is why online tutoring is the route to an international syllabus from home.

Schools are mentioned only to show where an international syllabus can be studied within reach of Nawapur. Our tutoring is a separate service with no tie to those schools, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, and none of them has reviewed or endorsed this page. Please confirm current offers directly with each school.

    Why families choose us

What Nawapur parents tell us matters most

A specialist, not whoever lives nearby

The tutor is chosen for the exact course, so a Nawapur student does not depend on who happens to live within reach.

    Straight about the format

Lessons for Nawapur happen on screen. House visits are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and you hear that before booking.

    Matched to syllabus codes

IB Maths AI, IGCSE 0580 and Edexcel 4MA1 are different courses, and each goes to a tutor who knows its papers.

    A free lesson first

You see the teaching before paying anything, which lowers the risk for a family trying this for the first time.

    Notes parents can follow

Parents who cannot sit in every class can still see what was covered from the note after each session.

    Coaching with integrity

Tutors explain, question and correct. They never write an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay or TOK essay.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Nawapur: your questions answered

Are there IB or IGCSE tutors in Nawapur?+

Very few teach inside the town, so most Nawapur students are taught online by specialists elsewhere in India. Lessons are live and one to one, with a shared whiteboard and past papers on screen. The first lesson is free, so a parent can judge subject knowledge and manner before anything is decided.

Can I get IB or IGCSE home tuition in Nawapur?+

You can have private tuition at home, delivered online, but no tutor will come to your house. Visits to homes run only in Gurugram and some parts of Delhi NCR. In Nawapur your child sits at a desk at home with a laptop, and you are free to sit nearby and follow the lesson.

Is there an IB or Cambridge school in Nawapur?+

We have not been able to confirm one, and we prefer saying so to guessing. The campuses we can verify are in Surat, including Fountainhead School, P. P. Savani Cambridge International School and Aarth Universal School. Curricula change, so ask any school directly about its current offer before planning admission around it.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Nawapur?+

We do not publish prices; a rate is sent in writing once we know the course. It depends on subject and level, sessions per week, how close the exam is and how much groundwork the student needs. Your child attends a free trial first, and there is no travel or hostel cost for Surat.

Which subjects can a Nawapur student get help with?+

Any IB Diploma, MYP or IGCSE subject for which we have a specialist, with mathematics and the sciences the usual starting points. We also cover Economics, Business Management, English, Computer Science, Hindi and TOK discussion. Tell us the course, level and exam session in your first message, and we confirm before booking a trial.

Will a tutor write my child's Internal Assessment or Extended Essay?+

No, and that rule does not bend. A tutor may explain what a criterion means, comment on a plan or ask a hard question about a weak argument, but every sentence submitted has to come from your child. Schools and the IB treat outside authorship as academic misconduct, and it would hurt the student.

What lesson timings suit a Nawapur household?+

Weekday evenings and weekend mornings are the usual choices, all in Indian Standard Time, so nobody converts hours. Families linked to the market yard often prefer slots after dinner, and in April and May many shift to early mornings. A class that clashes with Ganeshotsav, Navratri or Diwali is simply moved.

Can a Nawapur student take IGCSE as a private candidate?+

Often yes, if an authorised exam centre accepts outside candidates and you enter before its deadline. Ask centres in Surat, Nashik, Pune or Mumbai about practical papers, fees and dates. The tutor prepares your child for the papers; the registration is yours and the centre's to arrange.

Can you help with Hindi, Marathi or Gujarati?+

In part. Hindi B and IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language are the easiest to staff. Marathi and Gujarati support depends on tutor availability and on whether the school lets a student take them as a language subject. Say what the school requires in your first message and we will confirm before the trial.

Should a Nawapur child choose IB or IGCSE?+

Neither is better for everyone, because they suit different learners. IGCSE lets a student pick subjects one at a time and sit externally set papers, leading to A Level or the Diploma. The IB Diploma needs six subjects plus core elements and prizes research and long writing. A counsellor and one trial lesson usually settle it.

Are IB and IGCSE results accepted by Indian universities?+

Broadly yes. The Association of Indian Universities issues equivalence for the IB Diploma, and central universities ask for a CUET-UG result as well. JEE Main and NEET-UG impose subject rules that change from year to year. Colleges publish their own criteria, so check the specific institution before committing to subjects.

Can my child start IB tuition partway through a course?+

Yes, and mid-course arrivals are common after a family move. The tutor opens with a diagnostic task, lists the gaps against the syllabus and builds a catch-up plan around the next deadline. Starting before internal assessment drafting begins helps, but a late start rules nothing out.

Do you teach younger children in PYP or MYP?+

We do. PYP sessions lean towards reading, writing and number fluency, run shorter and stay playful. MYP lessons cover subject content and how the criteria are marked. A parent may stay within earshot for younger children, and the trial and tutor-change terms are the same as for older students.

What if the internet drops during a lesson?+

Tell the tutor straight away and the session can be picked up again or moved to another slot. A phone hotspot is the simplest backup, and it is worth charging the laptop before monsoon storms. Lessons depend on a steady connection, so test it with the tutor before the trial.

How do I know whether a tutor is right for my child?+

Sit through the trial. Watch whether the tutor asks what your child already knows, picks a fitting first problem and stays calm and clear when a mistake appears. If the pairing feels wrong afterwards, tell us and a different tutor is arranged without charge or awkwardness.
