What IB Gram offers families in Navalgund

Navalgund is a town of roughly twenty-five thousand people in Dharwad district, best known for its flat-woven durries and for the Kamanna fair at Holi. It is not a place where you will find an IB Diploma classroom or a Cambridge IGCSE timetable, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. The families who contact us from here are usually following an international curriculum through an online school, keeping a child on track during holidays from a boarding school in Bengaluru or Pune, or testing whether the switch from SSLC or CBSE makes sense.

That is exactly the situation where one-to-one online tuition helps most. A tutor who has taught IB Chemistry HL or IGCSE Extended Mathematics can sit with your child twice a week on video, mark a timed paper, and explain why three marks went missing, all without anyone travelling the roughly thirty-five kilometres to Hubballi. Private tuition at home, in the sense that a student works from their own desk, is fully possible; a tutor knocking at your door is not.

IB Gram's tutors are based in India and teach in IST, so a session after school at five or a Sunday morning revision block needs no time-zone arithmetic. Programmes covered are IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, plus Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, with AS and A Level mentioned only where a family is comparing routes.

We are an independent service with no tie to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named on this page. Tutors coach and explain; they never write an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework for a student.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Navalgund school years

Because no local school anchors the choice, a Navalgund family usually arrives at an IB programme through a particular reason: an online school, a boarding place elsewhere in Karnataka or Maharashtra, or a plan to apply abroad. The notes below describe what each stage asks of a student and what a tutor can realistically add from a distance.

PYPAges 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised around units of inquiry rather than a timetable of separate subjects, and nothing is externally examined. Where a tutor helps is on the quiet fundamentals underneath: fluent reading, confident number work and the habit of explaining an answer aloud.

In Navalgund, PYP enquiries tend to come from families whose child is on an online international programme, so the work is often reinforcing reading in English and mental arithmetic alongside the Kannada they speak at home.

MYPAges 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Each subject is marked against four criteria, interdisciplinary units appear in the middle years, and a Personal Project closes the programme. Students who write fluently often discover they are being scored on how they argue, not how much they know.

A student coming from a Kannada-medium or SSLC-style classroom into MYP English, Sciences and Individuals and Societies usually needs the criteria translated into plain steps before the first assessment.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard, plus the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS. Internal Assessments feed into the final grade, and the examinations arrive together in the May session, with some schools sitting in November.

For Navalgund students the DP is almost always studied away from home or online, and tutoring usually fills gaps in Maths, the sciences and English A that a distant school cannot cover one to one.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Two or more Diploma courses combine with a career-related study, a reflective project and a short personal and professional skills course. Very few Indian schools offer it, but the academic Diploma courses inside it still demand regular practice.

CP is rare in this part of Karnataka. If a student is on it through a school elsewhere, we match tutors to the Diploma courses it contains, not to the career pathway.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Students from a Karnataka State Board or CBSE background are used to being rewarded for complete, correct answers. IB and IGCSE examiners reward answers that respond to the command word, which is the single adjustment we spend most time on. Subject and level, not just the subject name, decide the match: IB Maths AA and AI call for different preparation, and Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE papers are worded differently.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Algebraic fluency, calculus and proof-style reasoning matter most, and Paper 3 at HL rewards patient work on an unfamiliar problem. The Exploration should be chosen before the final year, not during it.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and fluent graphic-calculator use carry the marks. Many students lose time not on the mathematics but on setting the technology up correctly.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Using the data booklet quickly, reading a graph critically and writing a clear uncertainty argument matter as much as recalling formulae. The Scientific Investigation needs a question that can actually be measured.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Stoichiometry is rarely the obstacle; organic mechanisms, equilibrium and energetics are. Practical write-ups also need a defensible method and a sensible treatment of error.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Students often know more than their marks show, and the gap is usually how the question is answered, not what is known. Data-based questions need real practice reading unfamiliar graphs.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Marks reward correctly drawn diagrams anchored to a real example, such as a commodity price or a Karnataka agricultural market, not memorised definitions.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Answers must be applied to the case in front of the student. The Internal Assessment works best when it is built around a real organisation with accessible information.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Unseen textual analysis, a comparative essay and the Individual Oral are three distinct skills. Students who think in Kannada at home often need sustained speaking practice more than extra reading.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Pseudocode, abstract data structures and object-oriented design are examined, while the Internal Assessment is a documented software project that needs planning from the start.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Each approach needs named studies, evaluated rather than just described, and the extended response has to be practised under a time limit.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

A systems-thinking subject. Strong answers use local examples carefully, such as the rainfall variability of north Karnataka, and evaluate them.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Case-study depth, fieldwork methods that would stand up to questioning and evaluative writing separate grades. A student living in a semi-arid agricultural region has useful material to work from.

IB History

HL / SL

Paper 1 tests source handling, while Paper 2 asks for a sustained argument. A tutor drills both separately, because skill in one does not carry across to the other.

IB Kannada B and Hindi B

HL / SL

Language B asks for unseen comprehension, correct text types and unscripted spoken fluency. Where a tutor in the exact language is available we match one; otherwise Hindi B is covered directly.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Taught as discussion, not content: pressure-testing the exhibition commentary and arguing a prescribed title from more than one angle.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel both award IGCSEs, yet their papers, tiers and sitting dates differ. We establish the board, the syllabus code and the tier first, then build a plan around the series your child is actually entered for.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended candidates drop marks through missing working far more often than through hard topics, so practice centres on a written method and calculator discipline.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Introduces calculus, functions and trigonometric identities early, which makes it a natural bridge to IB Maths AA at Higher Level.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Covers similar mathematics to the Cambridge course, but questions are phrased and sequenced differently, so Edexcel papers should be rehearsed as Edexcel papers.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Equation rearrangement and the alternative-to-practical paper cost more marks than conceptual gaps do, and both can be fixed with short, repeated practice.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, electrolysis and the qualitative analysis tables are the recurring weak points, along with writing a clear explanation in the expected vocabulary.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Breadth is the challenge. Spaced recall of processes, plus plenty of data-handling questions, helps more than a single read of the textbook.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Algorithms, pseudocode and trace tables are examined on paper, so students need to practise writing logic by hand, not just running code.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Definitions, a clear chain of reasoning and a developed example gain marks; local examples from agriculture and small trade give students something concrete to say.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Case-study questions reward applying a concept to the business described, not reciting the textbook version.

IGCSE English as a Second Language 0510

Core / Extended

Listening, reading, writing and speaking are assessed separately, and students from Kannada-speaking homes often benefit from structured speaking practice.

IGCSE First Language English 0500

Grade 9-10

Directed writing and the narrative or descriptive composition each need a distinct approach, and timed practice with detailed feedback matters most.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Grade 9-10

Comprehension, formal and informal writing and the oral component are all covered, with common errors in grammar corrected in the written note after each session.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Navalgund school timetables

In Navalgund there is one format, and we describe it honestly: live, private lessons over video. Tutors do not visit homes here, since home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What families choose is how often the sessions run and how much written feedback comes with them.

Weekly one-to-one online lessons

A fixed slot each week with the same tutor, using a shared whiteboard and the actual past papers your child will sit. This suits most students who need steady reinforcement of a school or online course.

  • A subject specialist, not a general tutor
  • Past papers and mark schemes shared on screen
  • A short written note after every session
  • The tutor can be changed if the fit is wrong

Twice-weekly programme with review points

Two sessions a week, with a more formal progress review every few weeks. It suits students who are behind in one subject or preparing for a school transition from SSLC or CBSE to an IB course.

  • Planned topic sequence across the term
  • Review of marks and error patterns
  • Homework set and marked between lessons
  • Easy to add a second subject later

Exam-block revision

A concentrated run of sessions before mocks or the May or November series: timed papers, immediate marking and a plan for the final weeks. We suggest booking at least three weeks ahead.

  • Timed papers marked against official criteria
  • Targeted weak-topic sessions
  • Planned around festivals and monsoon power cuts
  • Calm, structured final-week plan

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Navalgund

01

IB and IGCSE schools and the families who consider them near Navalgund

  • No IB or IGCSE school is confirmed inside Navalgund
  • Boarding in Bengaluru or Pune and online schools are the common routes
  • Returning Gulf families form a small but steady group
  • Tutoring is matched by subject, level, board and sitting

Navalgund sits in the Bhandayad Nadu belt of Dharwad district, a region of black-soil farming, handloom and small trade. Its educational life revolves around Karnataka State Board and CBSE schools, a well-attended arts, commerce and science college and a government first grade college. We have not confirmed an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school in the town, and families should treat anything claiming otherwise with caution until they have spoken to the school itself.

The families who nevertheless ask about IB and IGCSE tend to fall into recognisable groups. Some have a child enrolled in a boarding school in Bengaluru or Pune and want help during long holidays. Others follow an online international school from home. A third group has a parent who worked abroad, in the Gulf or elsewhere, and now wants a smooth bridge for a child who has studied a foreign curriculum and returned to Karnataka.

Hubballi-Dharwad, about thirty-five kilometres away, is the closest centre for coaching, hospitals and higher education, including IIT Dharwad, which opened in 2016. Even there the international curriculum is thin, so a student serious about an IB route usually plans for a move or an online programme.

Whichever route a family takes, tutoring needs stay specific: which subject, which level, which board and which sitting. We ask for those four facts at the start and match a tutor who has recently taught that exact combination.

How do SSLC, CBSE and ICSE differ from IB and IGCSE?

  • IB and IGCSE ask for reasoning, not only the right answer
  • Internal assessment is heavier and marked against criteria
  • HL and Extended content sit above board level in many topics
  • An early look at one past paper shows the gap clearly

The short answer is that the Karnataka SSLC and CBSE reward accurate, complete recall of a fixed syllabus, while IB and IGCSE reward explanation, application and the ability to answer exactly the command word asked. A student who writes a thorough SSLC answer may still lose marks on an IB paper for not evaluating, comparing or justifying.

Internal work is the second large difference. SSLC and the second year PUC carry modest internal marks. IB subjects carry Internal Assessments that count for roughly a fifth to a third of the grade, and IGCSE has coursework or practical papers in several subjects. Learning to plan and document independent work is a skill families underestimate.

Depth diverges as well. IGCSE Core sits near board-level difficulty, Extended rises above it, and IB Higher Level Maths and sciences go well beyond PUC content in some areas while leaving out others, such as the heavy emphasis PUC places on mechanics problems. Students moving from a Kannada-medium school also meet longer English reading loads.

None of this makes IB harder overall. Many students find criteria-based marking more predictable than a single end-of-year examination once the criteria are explained clearly.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost for a Navalgund student?

  • Programme, level, subject and session length set the rate
  • No travel cost for online lessons
  • Rate stated in writing before you commit
  • Pause or stop at any time, and change tutor if needed

Fees depend on the programme and level, the subject, the length of each session and how recently the tutor has taught that exact syllabus. Higher Level Diploma sciences and Maths tend to sit at the upper end because the pool of qualified tutors is smaller, while primary years and IGCSE Core subjects are typically lower.

Because every lesson is online, there is no travel cost built in. A tutor in Chennai or Pune charges the same for a Navalgund student as for a student in the next lane, which removes the usual question of paying more for a specialist who must commute.

We quote the rate in writing before you book, after the free trial, so there is nothing to discover later. It is more useful to compare what an hour delivers than the number alone: an hour with someone who has marked recent IB Maths AI explorations is different from an hour with a general tutor who has to learn the syllabus alongside your child.

There are no long contracts. Progress is reviewed every few weeks, sessions can pause during Dasara or a family wedding season, and a poor match is replaced rather than endured.

04

Online tuition, local coaching, private home tutors or self-study in Navalgund?

  • Online tuition is the only option here with syllabus-level detail
  • Local tutors help with routine and confidence
  • Coaching in Hubballi targets entrance exams, not IB
  • Self-study needs outside feedback to be reliable

Coaching in and around Navalgund is built around State Board subjects and entrance preparation for KCET, NEET and JEE, with the stronger institutes in Hubballi. That is valuable, but it does not teach the structure of an IB Internal Assessment or the way Cambridge words an Extended paper.

Local private tutors are the most common arrangement and often the most affordable. For an IB or IGCSE student the difficulty is availability: a teacher who has taught either syllabus recently is unlikely to live in a town where no school runs it. A capable generalist can support confidence and homework habits, and we are happy to suggest that as a companion to online lessons.

Self-study works for disciplined students in subjects with clear past papers, IGCSE Mathematics being the obvious example. It tends to fail at Internal Assessment planning, Extended Essay structure and the timing of long written papers, because nobody notices the drift until marks are lost.

Online one-to-one lessons are the one option that pairs syllabus-specific knowledge with individual attention in a small town. The trade-off is that the student needs a laptop, a steady connection and a quiet corner at the agreed hour.

When are the exams, and how does Navalgund's year affect study?

  • IB main session in May; Cambridge series in Feb-Mar, May-Jun and Oct-Nov
  • Edexcel IGCSE sits in January, May-June and October
  • Holi and Dasara weeks are kept free of timed mocks
  • Results come in July and August for the main sessions

IB Diploma examinations are held in May, with a November session for some schools and southern-hemisphere schools. Cambridge IGCSE has a May-June series, an October-November series, and a February-March series in India. Pearson Edexcel IGCSE has January, May-June and October sittings. A student's school or online programme decides which one applies, so ask for the entry confirmation early.

Navalgund's own calendar shapes study time. The monsoon from June to September brings reliable rain to a semi-arid region and, with it, intermittent power cuts. The Holi Kamanna fair in March can overlap with Cambridge February-March papers and with IB mock weeks. Dasara in October often falls close to the November series, and Ugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi and Deepavali each pull relatives into the house for several days.

We therefore propose a calendar in the first month: heavier practice blocks in the dry, quiet weeks, lighter revision around festival days, and a rule that no timed mock is set during Holi or Dasara week. Results arrive in early July for the IB May session and in August for Cambridge June.

Families often ask whether to sit a session early. The honest answer depends on the school; we will help you read the options but cannot enter a candidate ourselves.

Where can an IB or IGCSE student from Navalgund go after school?

  • AIU equivalence is the usual route for IB students applying in India
  • Check JEE, NEET and KCET eligibility every year
  • Bengaluru and Pune are the most common internal destinations
  • Tutors coach content; they do not write applications

For study in India, IB Diploma holders usually apply through the Association of Indian Universities equivalence, which allows entry to most universities. Central universities accept the CUET-UG score alongside it, and state institutions in Karnataka publish their own rules, so check each admission notice before assuming a path is open.

JEE Main and NEET have their own eligibility conditions for students from IB and IGCSE backgrounds, including subject combinations and minimum marks. They differ from year to year, and the official bulletins should be read directly. Karnataka's KCET also has its own conditions for candidates from other boards.

Closer to home, Karnataka University and the University of Agricultural Sciences in Dharwad, KLE Technological University in Hubballi and IIT Dharwad are the local reference points. Many Navalgund students aim for Bengaluru, Pune or Mumbai, and a smaller number apply abroad to the UK, USA, Canada or Australia.

Study abroad applications ask for predicted grades, a personal statement and, for the UK, an admissions test in some subjects. Our tutors coach subject content and exam technique; they do not write personal statements.

What do IB Maths AA, Maths AI and the sciences demand?

  • AA suits algebra and calculus; AI suits statistics and modelling
  • Learn the data booklet before Year 2 begins
  • Label every lost mark as content, command word or time
  • Students write their own IA, with feedback from the tutor only

Maths Analysis and Approaches is for students who enjoy algebra, calculus and proof. Maths Applications and Interpretation suits those who prefer statistics, modelling and technology. A good tutor will look at past scores and interests before recommending one, because switching later is difficult once the Exploration has started.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology share a pattern: three written papers in which the short and extended answers test understanding, and an Internal Assessment that tests whether the student can plan and report an investigation. The data booklet is allowed and should be learned like a map before the exam.

At Higher Level the sciences carry additional topics and an extra paper section, and the time pressure rises sharply. We drill past-paper questions by topic first, then by whole paper under timed conditions, with each error labelled as a content gap, a command-word slip or a time problem.

A tutor will explain, mark, and suggest improvements to a draft plan, but the student writes the Exploration or investigation in their own words. We stop at coaching, which keeps the work legitimate.

08

Core or Extended, Cambridge or Edexcel: choosing IGCSE subjects

  • Extended Maths opens the way to IB Maths AA and A Level Maths
  • Separate sciences give a stronger foundation than double award
  • Cambridge and Edexcel papers should not be mixed up
  • Choose the number of subjects by what can realistically be taught well

IGCSE Mathematics is available at Core, which caps the grade at C, and Extended, which can reach A star. Students who plan to take IB Maths AA or A Level Maths should sit Extended, ideally alongside Additional Mathematics. Others who want a secure pass and more time for other subjects may choose Core.

Sciences can be taken separately or as a Co-ordinated or Combined award, which counts as two IGCSEs. Separate sciences give a stronger base for IB or A Level sciences. Languages can be taken as a first or second language; Kannada and Hindi are available as second languages through some boards, but not every school offers them.

Cambridge and Edexcel differ in how often they offer papers and in the wording of questions. A student preparing for one should avoid casually practising on the other, at least until the last few weeks, and we will tell you which past papers belong to your syllabus code.

Most students take between five and nine IGCSEs. The tutor's role is to concentrate on the subjects where a grade can still move, not to spread effort evenly.

Where we tutor

Where our online tutors reach students around Navalgund

Every lesson happens on a screen, so these places matter only for practical reasons: how far a family is from Hubballi for exam centres and school visits, when the monsoon makes the road slow, and when electricity or broadband tends to be least reliable. Below are the neighbourhoods and nearby places students write in from.

Navalgund town centre

The market streets and durrie workshops around the old town, close to the hill with the Navileshwar Temple. Broadband is generally available, but a mobile hotspot is a sensible backup.

Shankar Arts, Commerce and Science College area

The college campus and residential lanes around it. Students here often finish PUC or degree classes mid-afternoon, so evening slots after five work best.

Government First Grade College area

A quieter residential pocket where families commonly have a child preparing for Karnataka CET or NEET alongside any international curriculum.

Bennihalla side

Neighbourhoods near the stream that runs through the town; the monsoon can make approach roads muddy, which is a reason to plan exam-block revision before June.

Nelammana Kere and Chennammana Kere

Residential edges around the two lakes, where homes are spread out and mobile signal quality can vary from house to house.

Kamanna Katte and Holi fair grounds

The area that fills with visitors around Holi Purnima, when roads are busy and many families host relatives. We avoid scheduling mock tests that week.

Annigeri road

The road towards Annigeri and Hubballi, used by families who travel for school admissions, document work or occasional campus visits.

Naragund side

Navalgund's twin town in the Bhandayad Nadu belt, connected by road. Students from here join the same online classes.

Hubballi and Dharwad commuters

Families with a parent working in Hubballi-Dharwad, about thirty-five kilometres away, who keep a home in Navalgund and need tutoring that does not depend on being in the city.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Navalgund

Navalgund itself

The town is served by Karnataka State Board, CBSE and aided schools, with the colleges on the Navalgund campus. We have not found an IB or IGCSE school here, so local options are limited.

    Nearby: Hubballi-Dharwad

The nearest large urban area, roughly thirty-five kilometres away. International-curriculum options here are limited, which is why many families look at boarding or online routes.

      Nearby: Bengaluru

A common boarding destination for north Karnataka families who want an IB route within the state, reachable by overnight bus or train from Hubballi.

      • Canadian International School
      • Stonehill International School

      Nearby: Pune

Another option for families comfortable with Maharashtra, with several IB and Cambridge schools and a long-standing education culture.

      Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Navalgund: your questions answered

Are there IB and IGCSE tutors in Navalgund?+

Yes, online. IB Gram's tutors teach live one-to-one over video from elsewhere in India, so a Navalgund student can work with a specialist in the exact subject and level. Tutors do not travel to Navalgund. We ask about the programme, board and sitting at the start so that the match is based on the course your child follows, and the first trial lesson is free, so you can judge the fit with no commitment.

Can I get IB or IGCSE home tuition in Navalgund?+

You can get private tuition from home, but not a tutor visiting your house. Lessons run online, with the student at their own desk and a laptop. Home visits are offered only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Online one-to-one lessons give you the same personal attention without the commute, and they let us choose a tutor by subject expertise rather than by who happens to live nearby.

Is there an IB school in Navalgund?+

We have not found one, and we do not name schools we cannot confirm. Navalgund's schools follow the Karnataka State Board or CBSE. Families interested in IB usually look at boarding schools in Bengaluru or Pune, or at online international schools. If a school here does start offering an IB or IGCSE course, check with the school directly and tell us the details so we can match a tutor.

How much does an IB or IGCSE tutor cost in Navalgund?+

The rate depends on the programme and level, the subject, the length of each session and the tutor's recent experience with the syllabus. Higher Level Diploma subjects usually cost more than IGCSE Core or primary years. We quote a rate in writing after the free trial and before any booking, so you know what you will pay before agreeing. There is no travel cost because lessons are online.

Which boards do you cover for IGCSE?+

We cover both Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE. The two boards use different syllabus codes, paper structures and sitting dates, so we confirm the board and tier before matching. Cambridge runs May-June, October-November and a February-March series in India, while Edexcel offers January, May-June and October. Your child's school or online programme decides which one applies.

Can a student move from SSLC or CBSE to IB?+

Yes, and many students do so successfully, usually at the start of MYP or the Diploma. The main adjustment is learning to answer command words, use criteria and manage Internal Assessments. A few months of one-to-one tuition before or during the move can narrow the gap, especially in Maths, the sciences and English, where the style differs most from board exams.

Do you help with Internal Assessments and Extended Essays?+

We coach, but we never write. A tutor can help a student choose a feasible topic, understand the criteria, structure a plan and respond to feedback. The writing, calculations and analysis must be the student's own. This keeps the work legitimate and protects your child from academic misconduct, which the IB and Cambridge treat seriously.

What equipment does my child need for online lessons?+

A laptop or desktop with a camera and microphone, a steady broadband or mobile connection and a quiet corner are enough. A pen-tablet or a phone camera aimed at handwritten work helps for Maths and sciences. We suggest a mobile-data backup because monsoon weather can disturb broadband in smaller towns, and a charged laptop for short power cuts.

How do lessons work around Holi and Dasara?+

We plan the calendar around them. The Holi Kamanna fair in March and the Dasara and Deepavali weeks in autumn usually mean visitors and travel, so we keep those days light and avoid timed mocks. If a session is missed because of a festival or power cut, it can be rescheduled with notice, and we try to place heavier revision in quieter weeks.

Are your tutors based in Karnataka?+

Tutors are based in India and teach in IST, but they may live in any city. We match on syllabus experience, not location. A Navalgund student might be taught by a tutor in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi or Chennai. Where a family prefers a Kannada-speaking tutor for explanation, we try to arrange it, but the subject expertise comes first.

      How do I get started?+

Message us on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115 or email support@ibgram.com with your child's class, programme, subject and board. We will reply with a shortlist and arrange a free trial lesson. The trial uses a real topic from the course so you can judge the tutor's style, and a written note follows it.

Is the trial lesson really free?+

Yes. The first lesson is a free trial, with no payment details needed to book it. You see how the tutor explains, how your child responds and whether the time slot works. Rates are shared in writing afterwards, and you decide whether to continue. If the fit is wrong, we find another tutor.

Can you help with JEE, NEET or KCET as well?+

Our focus is IB and IGCSE. For students who need Indian entrance preparation as well, we can coach the overlapping Maths, Physics and Chemistry content and point out where the IB syllabus differs from the entrance syllabi. Dedicated JEE, NEET or KCET batch coaching is a separate matter, best taken from a Hubballi institute. Always check eligibility rules with the official bulletins.

What is the difference between IB Maths AA and AI?+

Analysis and Approaches covers algebra, functions, calculus and proof, and suits students aiming at engineering, mathematics or physical science. Applications and Interpretation emphasises statistics, modelling and technology, and suits students heading for economics, business or social sciences. Both are offered at Standard and Higher Level. We help you pick after looking at your child's strengths and intended course.

Can my primary-school child get PYP tuition online?+

Yes. For PYP the work is gentle and short, usually thirty to forty minutes, focused on reading in English, number sense and explaining thinking aloud. Young children need a parent nearby to set up the call. We keep screens brief and use shared drawings and simple games, and we suggest a break for physical play outside the lesson.

Do you offer lessons in Kannada?+

Lessons are mainly in English, since the exams are in English, but a tutor can clarify a difficult idea in Hindi or sometimes Kannada if the student is stuck. IB Kannada B and IGCSE Hindi second language can be taught where a suitable tutor is available. Tell us your preference and we will do our best to match it.
