IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Nargund

Home tuition for an IB or IGCSE course is hard to find in Nargund, because no school in the town teaches either syllabus. IB Gram fills the gap with live, one-to-one video lessons: your child studies at home on a laptop while a tutor who has taught the exact course works through it, at times set around the Nargund school day.

  • Tutors who already teach your child's exact IB or IGCSE course, not general school teachers
  • Every lesson is live and online; no tutor visits homes in Nargund
  • A free trial lesson before any fee is mentioned
  • Independent of the IB, Cambridge, Pearson and every school named here
  • A short written note after each session

IB & IGCSE in Nargund

IB and IGCSE tutoring from a hill-fort town with no international school

Nargund grew around a rocky hill with a fort on top, and the town still remembers the 1858 revolt of its ruler, Baba Saheb Bhave, against the British. Today it is a municipal-council town of about 36,000 people (2011 census) in Gadag district, ringed by dry-land farms and small market villages. What we could not find, in any source we checked, is a school here that teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE syllabus. That single fact decides how the tuition on this page works.

Because nothing local teaches those syllabuses, home tuition in Nargund is delivered online. A tutor logs in from elsewhere in India, your child sits at a desk at home with a laptop, and the two work through the course one to one. Tutors do not visit homes in Nargund; in-person home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What the online format gives you is a wider choice. A family can wait for a tutor who has really taught IB Chemistry HL or IGCSE Extended Mathematics instead of accepting whoever is free nearby, and that is true of IB and IGCSE tutors in Nargund as much as anywhere else, because the pool is national and not local.

The families who contact us fall into a few groups. Some have come back to Gadag district after years in Bengaluru, Pune or the Gulf, with a child halfway through an IB or Cambridge course. Some have a son or daughter boarding at a campus in another city and want steady help in the holidays. Others are ambitious households with a child in a Karnataka State Board or CBSE school who see an international certificate as a route to study in the UK, Canada or Europe. We assume nobody's reason; the first conversation simply asks which course and which exam session.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. It has no link with the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson or any school or university mentioned on this page. Tutors teach and coach; they never write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, Theory of Knowledge essays or coursework for a student.

At a glance

  • Live one-to-one lessons for IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, and for Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Nargund school years

In a taluk where school means the Karnataka State Board or CBSE, each IB stage reaches Nargund as a carried-over course or a deliberate extra. These notes say what a tutor is typically asked to do at each stage.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised around themes and open questions rather than separate textbooks, and the stage ends with a student-led Exhibition. Tutoring at this level is mostly reading, number sense and the confidence to explain an idea aloud.

A PYP request from Nargund almost always comes from a child who began the programme in another city and now lives here. The tutor's job is to keep the habit of inquiry alive until the family settles or moves again.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Subjects are assessed against published criteria rather than one overall mark, and the course closes with a Personal Project. Students learn to show how they reached an answer, which is a real shift for anyone raised on short-answer papers.

With no MYP classroom within reach, a Nargund student relies on a tutor to put the criteria into plain language and show what a top-band response looks like. The Personal Project stays the student's own work; we only discuss how to plan it.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, sit beside the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS. Final exams and coursework together decide the Diploma score.

Diploma enquiries from the Gadag and Hubballi belt lean towards medicine, engineering and agriculture-linked science, so Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology lead. Students who also plan to sit Indian entrance tests should choose subjects with that in mind.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

A few Diploma courses are combined with a career-related study, a reflective project and language development. It suits young people who are drawn to applied or vocational paths.

We know of no school in or near Nargund offering the Career-related Programme, so tutoring here means support for the academic courses inside it.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Tell us the exact course and level. A student taking Applications and Interpretation Mathematics at Standard Level needs a different teacher from one in Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, and tutors are matched on that detail.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Algebra, functions, calculus and proof dominate. Lessons alternate between a new idea and a timed problem set, and the exploration topic is chosen early so it never collides with exam preparation.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and technology carry the course, so much of the tutoring is about using the graphic display calculator fluently and reading a context before reaching for a formula.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, waves, fields and modern physics are practised as numerical and explanatory questions, with graph skills built in for the investigation.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Stoichiometry, equilibrium, kinetics and organic pathways get repeated exposure, along with the careful units and significant figures that examiners reward.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Exact vocabulary and the meaning of command terms such as describe and evaluate separate the bands, so sessions rehearse short definitions and labelled diagrams.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Every diagram earns its marks with a clear sentence beneath it, and examples come from Indian farming, trade and local markets, which students here already know well.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

The skill is reading a case study quickly, picking the relevant tool and applying it to the firm on the page.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Close reading of an unseen passage, building an essay plan against the clock and preparing the individual oral each get their own rehearsal.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms, data structures, computer organisation and networks are worked through, including how the paper expects code to be written down.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Landmark studies are learned with their method and limitations, then turned into the paragraph-length answers the paper rewards.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Place-based examples are stored with concrete numbers, while map, graph and table questions are timed so students learn to read data quickly.

IB History

HL / SL

Documents are judged for who wrote them and why, and essay plans begin from a thesis the student can defend.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

Karnataka schools usually teach Hindi as a third language, which gives a base to build on; lessons concentrate on formal registers, text types and speaking with confidence.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

A tutor can debate knowledge questions and real-life situations with the student, but the essay and the exhibition are written and assembled by the student alone.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

IGCSE is the option most Nargund families can realistically use: it can be studied privately, as a bridge into a Class 11 move, or as a first step towards A Levels or the Diploma. Two choices come first, the board (Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel) and the tier (Core and Extended, or Foundation and Higher).

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Number, algebra and geometry are built through short daily examples, and non-calculator fluency is checked every week.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 9-10

Functions, differentiation and trigonometry arrive early, which makes this paper a stepping stone to Diploma or A Level Mathematics.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Edexcel's wording, its credit for method and its mixed-topic papers are taught directly, with full papers sat under timed conditions.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Rearranging formulae, circuits and waves come first, and the paper that tests practical skills on paper is rehearsed later.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, techniques for separating mixtures and the organic families are revisited until the steps become second nature.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Body systems, transport in plants and inheritance are revised through labelled sketches the student produces without notes.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Scarcity, market failure and the role of government are explained through examples from north Karnataka's farm and town markets.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Break-even, cash flow and close reading of a business case are practised on genuine past-paper scenarios.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Number systems, logic gates and tracing an algorithm by hand come first, with programming tasks added afterwards.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Descriptive, narrative and persuasive pieces are written to the clock and then marked line by line.

IGCSE English as a Second Language 0510

Grade 9-10

Reading, writing, listening and speaking skills are built for students moving from Kannada-medium or mixed-medium schooling.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Grade 9-10

Reading comprehension, formal letters and spoken answers are rehearsed for students who want Hindi on an international certificate.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Nargund school timetables

Three arrangements cover most Nargund families. The teaching itself never changes, a live one-to-one video lesson; the rhythm and the reason do. Tutors do not visit homes in Nargund, because in-person home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

A regular weekly lesson

One or two fixed sessions a week with the same tutor, working through the specification in order, with homework marked between classes.

  • Suits IB, IGCSE and MYP subjects alike
  • A shared digital whiteboard on every call
  • A photo of finished homework is marked before the next lesson
  • One tutor who comes to know how your child thinks

Alongside a state-board or CBSE school

For a child at a Karnataka State Board or CBSE school who takes on an international course in the evenings or over the weekend.

  • Slots avoid unit-test and board-exam weeks
  • Only the international syllabus is taught
  • A monthly summary for parents
  • Useful groundwork before a move to a campus elsewhere

A concentrated run before the exam

A short, intensive block of timed papers, corrections and fresh tests on whatever still goes wrong.

  • Timed papers marked against the official mark scheme
  • Repeated errors logged and tested again
  • Starts four to six weeks before the first paper
  • Planned around Dasara, Deepavali and the April heat

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Nargund

01

Are there IB or IGCSE schools in Nargund?

  • No IB or IGCSE school confirmed in Nargund or Gadag district
  • Local teaching follows the Karnataka State Board or CBSE
  • Families who ask are returnees, parents of boarders or planners of a move
  • Check the IB, Cambridge and Pearson directories for new approvals

We could not confirm an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school in Nargund, or anywhere else in Gadag district, from the sources we checked. Classrooms in the town follow the Karnataka State Board syllabus, with CBSE as the main alternative, so a family that wants an international course usually studies it outside school hours or after a move to a bigger city.

That is not unusual for a town of this size. Nargund is a municipal-council town of about 36,000 people at the 2011 census, built around a hill fort that changed hands between the Marathas, the Mughals and Mysore's rulers before the British period. In 1858 its ruler, Baba Saheb Bhave, rose against the British. Modern Nargund is a market and administrative town for the surrounding farm villages, and its schools and colleges are organised around local board exams and the entrance tests that follow them.

Places nearby look much the same. Navalgund, its twin town, is known for its durries; Ron has the Siddharudha Swami temple; Gadag has several degree colleges and a medical institute; Hubballi and Dharwad hold the main cluster of universities and professional colleges in north-west Karnataka. In none of these did we find an authorised IB or IGCSE campus. Families who do want one tend to look at Bengaluru or Pune, usually for boarding and not for a daily commute.

Official lists change as schools are approved, so please check the IB's school directory and the Cambridge and Pearson centre lists before relying on this page. If a school in Gadag district is authorised later, a tutor can simply fold that school's timetable into your child's lessons.

02

Karnataka State Board, CBSE, IB or IGCSE: which suits which Nargund child?

These four routes do not compete on one scale; each fits a different plan. The Karnataka State Board and CBSE are taught in and around Nargund, understood by every local teacher and tied directly to SSLC, the 2nd PUC and the entrance tests that follow. IB and IGCSE ask for extra effort: lessons from a tutor who knows the syllabus and a decision about where the exams will be sat.

The biggest day-to-day difference is how learning is measured. State-board papers lean on recall of textbook content, CBSE adds application, and the two international routes reward explanation: why a method works, how a source supports an argument, what a graph implies. A child who is strong at reproducing a chapter may find the first month of IGCSE Physics unfamiliar, because the marks sit in the reasoning and not the recall.

Nothing here argues for leaving the local board. For many Nargund students, the State Board or CBSE together with KCET, NEET or JEE preparation is the shortest road to an Indian professional course, and it costs less than any alternative. International syllabuses make sense when the family expects to relocate, when study abroad is a real plan, when a child already holds part of a Cambridge or IB course, or when a student does better with open questions than with memorised answers.

If your child is still in Class 6 to 9, there is no rush to choose. Many families begin with IGCSE-style problem solving alongside the school course and decide about the Diploma, or a CBSE Class 11, once the child's interests are clearer, usually in Class 9 or 10.

What does IB or IGCSE home tuition cost in Nargund?

  • Subject, level, tutor experience and weekly hours all shape the rate
  • Written quotes before booking
  • No travel cost to Hubballi or Dharwad
  • The trial lesson is free

There is no fixed price list for IB or IGCSE tuition in Nargund, because a fair rate depends on the subject, the level, the tutor and the number of lessons. IB Gram sends every family a written quote before booking, after a free trial, so you see the tutor at work and the exact figure before agreeing to anything.

Four things move the rate. The first is the course itself: IB Physics HL or IGCSE Additional Mathematics draws on far fewer experienced tutors than early-years reading help does. The second is the tutor's record with that exact specification. The third is the pattern of lessons, since a steady weekly hour is priced differently from a daily fortnight before papers. The fourth is the time of year, because exam-month slots are the first to fill.

Online tuition also removes costs that families in a taluk town carry without noticing. Reaching coaching in Hubballi or Dharwad means a bus or shared car for about 60 km each way, plus a meal and a lost afternoon. A Nargund student on an online plan pays for none of that, and nobody is asked for a premium to cover a tutor's journey to a smaller town.

If support will run for a year or more, the spending can follow the exam calendar: lighter in quiet months and heavier just before a series. The trial lesson itself carries no charge.

04

Online tutor, coaching centre, private tutor or self-study: what works in Nargund?

The nearest large coaching market is Hubballi-Dharwad, and it is built for KCET, NEET, JEE and board results. That is useful for students on the Indian route, but as far as we could find a centre there seldom runs IB or Cambridge batches, and a parent asking about IGCSE Chemistry will usually be offered a CBSE class instead.

A capable private tutor in Nargund may teach school Mathematics or Science very well and still have no experience of an IB mark scheme or a Cambridge examiner's report. Self-study with past papers can work for a very disciplined student, but with nobody to mark the answers the same error can survive for months.

An online tutor who has taught the exact course is the closest thing to a school classroom that Nargund can offer today. The table sets the four options against the points parents raise most.

When are the exams, and how do heat, harvest and festivals fit in?

IB Diploma exams run in May and November, and most Indian candidates sit the May session. Cambridge IGCSE has series in February and March, May and June, and October and November, while Pearson Edexcel runs January, May and June, and October and November series. A Nargund student therefore has more than one chance in a year, but each series needs its own registration, usually months in advance.

Gadag district receives about 631 mm of rain in a year, and Nargund's summers are long, dry and hot. April and May can be uncomfortable for a student sitting papers, and a fan or cooler that cuts out in the afternoon is a bigger threat than any gap in the syllabus. We plan the heaviest teaching for the cooler months and keep exam-month lessons to the early morning or the evening.

Many Nargund families farm or have relatives who do, so the kharif sowing weeks after the first monsoon rains in June can pull a household's attention away from study, and harvest time does the same in the autumn. A fixed weekly slot, agreed before those weeks begin, helps a student keep the routine.

Festivals shape the calendar too. Ugadi in March or April, Ganesh Chaturthi in the monsoon months, the Dasara holidays in autumn, Deepavali and Sankranti in January each take a few days, and Moharram and Ramzan matter to many families in the town. We plan the heaviest teaching for the months between them and treat holiday weeks as catch-up or rest.

06

Where can a Nargund student go after IB or IGCSE?

Most IB Diploma graduates from Karnataka apply to Indian universities with an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, or to private universities that accept the Diploma directly, while others apply abroad. IGCSE students normally move into Class 11 in a CBSE, ICSE or IB school, or continue to AS and A Level.

Closer to home, Dharwad has IIT Dharwad, IIIT Dharwad, Karnatak University and the University of Agricultural Sciences, and Hubballi has KLE Technological University and the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences. Gadag has its own medical institute and degree colleges. Each has its own admission route, and the rules for students from international boards are written in the annual brochures, not in school handbooks.

For engineering and medicine the common gates are JEE Main and Advanced, NEET-UG and, for state seats, KCET and the counselling run by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. They set subject and domicile conditions, so a Diploma student who wants medicine must carry Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and one aiming at engineering must keep Mathematics and Physics. CUET-UG applies to central universities and many others, and publishes its own list of accepted qualifications each year.

Abroad, UK universities work through UCAS, Canada and Australia through direct or provincial applications, and the United States through the Common Application. Each reads predicted IB grades and IGCSE results differently, which is another reason to settle subject choices early. Tutors keep their attention on the learning that produces the grade.

07

How are IB Mathematics and the sciences taught over video?

A video lesson is a conversation, not a lecture. The tutor shares a digital whiteboard, the student works on paper beside the screen, and both look at the same problem together. At the end of the session the student photographs the page, so the tutor marks real handwriting and not a typed answer.

Mathematics comes in two forms. Analysis and Approaches suits students who enjoy algebra, calculus and proof, and is the usual choice for aspiring engineers. Applications and Interpretation leans on statistics, modelling and the graphic display calculator, and fits business, social science and life-science plans. Choosing the wrong one is a familiar Diploma regret, so we advise on the decision before a student commits, ideally in Class 10.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology each mix understanding, recall and a practical investigation. A tutor helps a student see the shape of the syllabus, practise the calculations and definitions that appear every year, and plan an experiment that can be marked. The write-up of the investigation belongs to the student; the tutor responds with questions.

A taluk town can have uneven power and mobile signal, so we ask for a charged laptop, a phone hotspot as a backup and a photographed page after every session. If a lesson is cut short, the tutor's note records what was covered and the remaining time can be moved to another slot.

08

IGCSE Core or Extended: how should a Nargund student choose?

Core and Extended are separate papers, not two ways of marking the same paper. Core reaches grade C at most, while Extended can reach A*, so the tier chosen caps how high a student can score. Pearson Edexcel uses the names Foundation and Higher for a similar split.

A student who aims for the IB Diploma, A Level sciences or a competitive Indian stream should usually sit Extended in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Core is sensible for a subject that is a struggle, or one taken only for breadth. A tutor reviews the tier a few months in, and a student can still switch before the entry deadline.

Mathematics and English are close to universal; most students then add two or three sciences and one subject from business, economics, computer science or geography. Hindi as a second language is a common way to secure a good grade for students whose schools teach Hindi as a third language.

Cambridge and Edexcel differ in question style, tier names, coursework rules and series dates. Tell us which board your child is entered with, and we match a tutor who has taught that board's papers. If you have not chosen yet, the trial lesson is a good time to compare the two styles.

Where we tutor

Nargund town and the nearby places our online tutors serve

Every lesson happens on a screen, so distance is not the issue here. The list notes how each area's schooling, roads and daily rhythm tend to shape the time of a lesson, because a student in town and one on a village farm do not keep the same evening.

Nargund town centre

The streets around the hill fort and the main market. Most households are within walking distance of their school, so late-afternoon lessons after the last bell work well.

Bus stand and market road

The busiest stretch of town. Traffic and noise tend to rise at school closing time, so a quiet room and a headset are worth arranging.

Villages and farm homes in Nargund taluk

Children here often live a bus ride away from their school, and farm work can shape the evening, so a fixed weekly slot protects the routine.

Navalgund

The twin town just across the Dharwad district line, known for its GI-tagged durries and home to colleges and English-medium schools. About 35 km from Hubballi, so many students already look towards that city.

Ron

A taluk headquarters of about 23,000 people, with the Siddharudha Swami temple and its Ramanavami chariot procession; festival days can empty the calendar.

Gadag-Betageri

The district headquarters, with degree colleges and a medical institute. Families here sometimes compare it with Hubballi when deciding where a child studies after Class 10.

Lakshmeshwar

A Gadag district town known for its Hindu and Jain temples and the Someshwara complex; students usually rely on Gadag or Hubballi for specialist coaching.

Annigeri

A Dharwad district neighbour of Navalgund, close enough to the Hubballi road for families to consider the twin cities for senior school.

Hubballi

The commercial centre of the region and the base of the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences and KLE Technological University; a common reference point for Nargund parents choosing a path.

Dharwad

The educational hub of north Karnataka, with IIT Dharwad, IIIT Dharwad, Karnatak University and the University of Agricultural Sciences, which shape many students' ambitions.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Nargund

Nargund and Gadag district

Schools in the town and across the district follow the Karnataka State Board or CBSE. Our checks found no IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school for the town or the district, so students on an international course study at home with an online tutor.

    Nearby: Hubballi and Dharwad

The twin cities, roughly 60 km from Nargund, are the region's centre for universities and coaching. We could not confirm an IB or IGCSE school in either, so families who want Cambridge qualifications often use the private-candidate route through an approved exam centre.

      Nearby: Bengaluru

Karnataka's main group of IB and Cambridge campuses is in Bengaluru, an overnight journey away. Families usually consider it for boarding or a household move, not for commuting.

      • Canadian International School
      • Stonehill International School

      Nearby: Pune

A long road or rail journey north, Pune has a wide choice of IB and Cambridge schools and a steady flow of north Karnataka families who relocate or board there.

      • Mahindra International School
      • Symbiosis International School

IB Gram is an independent service and is not affiliated with the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named here. No school in Nargund is listed because none could be confirmed; the schools below are in other cities, are named just to show what some families look at, and have no connection with IB Gram.

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Nargund: your questions answered

Do tutors visit homes in Nargund for IB or IGCSE?+

No, tutors do not visit homes in Nargund. In-person home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, so every Nargund lesson is a live online one-to-one class that your child takes at home on a laptop. The format still gives your child a teacher's undivided attention, and it lets us choose a specialist from anywhere in India instead of whoever happens to live within reach of a taluk town. Lessons run on Indian Standard Time, so there is no time-zone gap to manage.

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Nargund or Gadag district?+

We could not confirm one. Schools in Nargund and across Gadag district follow the Karnataka State Board or CBSE, and the IB and Cambridge directories are the final authority if you hear of a new approval. Until then, students on an international course either study online with a tutor, sit exams as private candidates, or move to a campus in another city such as Bengaluru. A tutor can start from wherever your child's current school leaves off.

Can my child take IGCSE tuition in Nargund and still sit the exam?+

Yes, if the exam is booked through an approved centre that accepts private candidates. Cambridge and Pearson both publish centre lists, and such centres are usually in larger cities, so ask early about distance, fees, practical papers and the entry deadline for the series you want. Tutors prepare your child for the papers and the practical component; entry and exam-day arrangements remain with the family and the centre. Start asking several months before the series.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Nargund, and is the first lesson free?+

The first lesson is free, and every family then receives a written quote before booking. Rates depend on the tutor's experience with the syllabus, the subject and level, and how often your child studies, so we do not publish a single price. Advanced sciences and Mathematics sit towards the upper end, early-years support towards the lower. Because lessons are online, there is no bus fare or fuel cost to Hubballi or Dharwad.

Which subjects should a Nargund student start with?+

Start with Mathematics and whichever science your child finds hardest. These subjects carry the most weight for engineering and medical plans, and a weak foundation in either shows up in every later topic. Economics, Business, Computer Science and English are easier to add once the routine is in place. If your child is on the Diploma, ask the tutor to map all six subjects against the degree your child hopes to study.

Can an IB student from Nargund still apply for NEET or JEE?+

Often yes, but only if the subject combination and the paperwork meet the current rules. NEET-UG asks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology; JEE Main asks for Physics and Mathematics with a third subject from a permitted list. Many public universities also ask for an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities. Rules and dates change, so read the latest information bulletin from the National Testing Agency before choosing Diploma subjects, not after.

Will KCET and Karnataka's state counselling accept IB or IGCSE results?+

That depends on the Karnataka Examinations Authority's notification for the year, which sets eligibility, domicile and study-location conditions for state seats. The rules differ between engineering, medicine and agriculture, and international-board candidates may need extra documents. Read the brochure in Class 11 and keep copies of equivalence certificates. Tutors can advise on subject choice, but only the authority can confirm admission rules.

Do April and May heat or power cuts disturb online lessons?+

They can, which is why we plan for it. Afternoon heat and occasional power interruptions are part of life in Gadag district, so we suggest a charged laptop, a phone hotspot as a backup and an early-morning or evening slot for exam-month sessions. If a power cut ends a lesson early, the tutor's note records what was covered and the tutor will usually suggest another slot for the remaining time.

What internet speed and equipment does a Nargund student need?+

A laptop or desktop with a working camera and microphone, headphones, and a stable connection of around 5 Mbps is enough for video and a shared whiteboard. Fibre broadband is steadier than mobile data, though a good 4G or 5G signal also works for most lessons. Keep paper and a dark pen beside the screen for working, and a phone to photograph pages. If the line drops often, test it before the trial so the tutor can adjust.

Can a Class 8 or 9 child begin IGCSE preparation now?+

Yes, and these years are a good time to start. Beginning in Class 8 or 9 leaves room to move from memorised answers to explained reasoning without exam pressure. Tutors usually keep the first term gentle, focusing on core skills and command words, and bring in past papers later. A trial lesson shows how your child responds and how much weekly time is sensible alongside school homework.

How do tutors handle Extended Essays and Internal Assessments?+

Tutors coach and never write. They explain the assessment criteria, ask questions that sharpen a research question and comment in general terms on a plan or draft. The words and ideas have to remain the student's own. That protects a student from findings of academic misconduct, which can cost the Diploma, and it matches the IB's own rules on authenticity.

Can a student from a Kannada-medium school manage English-medium IB or IGCSE tutoring?+

Yes, with patience. Lessons are taught in English because the exams are written in English, and tutors speak at a pace that suits the student. If a concept needs restating in Hindi, mention it at the trial; we cannot promise a Kannada-speaking tutor for every subject and prefer to say so plainly. Vocabulary lists and short writing tasks are built into the early weeks.

How often should my child meet the tutor?+

One or two lessons a week plus homework suits a steady syllabus. In the month before an exam series, three or four weekly sessions are common. The tutor reviews progress from past papers and suggests changes, and you can adjust the schedule by telling us whenever your child's school load shifts.

Which IGCSE boards do you support?+

Both Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, with AS and A Level as background. The two boards differ in paper structure, tier names and series dates, so tell us which one your child has entered or intends to enter. We match a tutor who has taught that board's papers and can re-match if the plan changes.

What happens if my child does not get on with the tutor?+

Tell us and we will arrange a different tutor. A mismatch in pace or style is common and is not anybody's fault. The free trial exists so you can notice it early, and the written note after every lesson makes it easier to say what is not working. The new tutor starts from the same record, so nothing your child has already covered is lost.

Can a boarding-school student use holidays at home in Nargund for tuition?+

Yes. Students who board in Bengaluru, Pune or another city often come home for Dasara, Deepavali and the summer break, and those weeks suit short, regular blocks of lessons. Tell the tutor which topics the school has covered and which tests are coming, and the plan can follow the school's own scheme of work instead of starting from scratch.

How do I book the free trial?+

Message +91 7439 368 115 on WhatsApp or email support@ibgram.com with your child's class, board, subject and a time that suits you. We reply with a suggested tutor and a trial slot. There is no obligation, and if the tutor is not right you can ask for another before booking anything.
